Once again, I only own my OC. I don't own Vampire Diaries or anything else I will use in my story. Keep in mind that Harmony has instruments that she practices with, so she leaves for school earlier than most to practice a bit before school starts in the music room. So, if some of the events that you believe are important that I skipped I am sorry. I also am trying not to follow word for word of the episodes. (But if I am going to be in trouble let me know). I already let everyone know that I only own my OC, and not anything else that I use in my stories.

Chapter 2 - Night of the Comet

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I woke up and took a shower before going through my closet. I decided to wear a black high-neck halter crop tank top with a navy blue high-waist shorts (with flowers on them), a beige cardigan, my backpack, and my black sandal wedges. Light makeup as usual and my hair in a waterfall braided crown. I walked to the living room to drop my violin on the couch before heading to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. My family soon appeared and I gave them their daily lunches and was given "thank you" before everyone went their separate ways. Though before leaving the house, I received a call from Caroline about helping her out with folding programs after school. I had already agreed in helping with the decorations for the comet, and volunteer work never bothered me so I agreed and went to the couch to get my violin after hanging up.

~ At School ~

"Originally discovered, nearly 5 centuries ago. It hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over 145 years," Mr. Tanner explained about the comet. Though I knew something was starting to piss him off by the way he was focusing on someone.

"Now the comet will be at its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration," Mr. Tanner continued as he was walking closer to where my sister sat.

'Oh no, Elena. Pay attention,' I thought.

"Are we bothering you? Mr. Salvatore? Ms. Gilbert?" Mr. Tanner said making my eyebrows raise.

'Oh, two someone in trouble,' I thought as I turned to look at my sister who shook her head in response.

Just then the bell rang, and everyone gathered their stuff. As I walked down the hall with Elena and Stefan, I saw him pass a very old looking book. "Passed down," he said. I'm not sure I believe him. Oh well. Who am I to judge someone's family right. With our Gilbert ancestors having a journal that believed wholeheartedly that the supernatural was real. Not that I don't believe in it also. I do, but to others who would read it. They would think my family was a nut case.

I turned back into the conversation when Elena brought up how I loved to read. Stefan looked at me with an expression I couldn't really describe.

"Your welcome to come to borrow any books from my library at home," He told me with a smile.

I smiled at the thought of the books he might have.

"Thank you," I told him.

~ After school~

I was walking with Elena and Matt, as she was asking about Vicki.

"They're keeping her overnight to make sure there's no infection, but she should be able to come home tomorrow," Matt said.

"That's good news," Elena said.

"It's very good news," I added.

"Yeah," Matt said.

"Did you get in touch with your mom?" Elena said.

"Called and left a message," Matt said, "She's in Virginia Beach with her boyfriend. So, we'll see how long it takes her to come rushing home."

"Vicki's lucky that she's okay," Elena said.

"I know. Now there's talk of some missing campers," Matt said.

"Did she say what kind of animal it was that attacked her?" I asked.

"She said it was a vampire," Matt said.

"What?!" Elena and I asked.

"Yeah, she wakes up last night and mutters 'vampire' and then passes out," Matt said.

"Okay, that's weird," Elena said.

"I think she was drunk," Matt said.

I stayed silent as I process this new information. 'A vampire huh?' I thought.

"So, what's up with you and the new guy?" Matt asked Elena.

We turned and saw Stefan sitting on a bench. Elena turned back to her ex and said, "Matt, the last thing that I want to do is hurt you."

"You know, I'm actually gonna go back to the hospital. I want to be there when Vicki wakes up. Get the real story about last night," Matt said.

I wasn't really paying attention to their conversation, because I was looking at where Stefan was sitting one moment and gone the next. It was so sudden, but I know I saw him sitting there. Elena turned back so she could go to Stefan but he was gone.

~ Folding programs for the Comet ~

I was sat down drinking my mocha frappucino with Caroline on my right, Elena on my left, and Bonnie in front of me. As I was folding paper, I was listening to the conversation around me.

"I was talking Grams, and she says the comet is a sign of impending doom," Bonnie said catching my attention, "The last time it passed through Mystic Falls, it was lots of death. So much blood and carnage that it caused a bed of paranormal activity."

I was about to ask Bonnie if her grams know more until Caroline spoke.

"Yeah, and then you poured grams another shot and she told you about the aliens," Caroline spoke rudely.

I kicked Caroline's chair. She ignored me, however, and faced Elena.

"So then what?" Caroline asked Elena.

"So then nothing," Elena said.

"You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss? Or touchy-feely of any kind?" Caroline said making me wrinkle my nose in disgust.

"Nope," Elena said, "We didn't go there."

"Not even a handshake? I mean Elena we are your friends you're suppose to share the smut."

I choked on my drink hearing that, and once I got my breathing right I looked at my blonde friend and said, "Gross Caroline. I don't need to know my sister's sexual life."

"Don't even get me started with you, Harmony Gilbert. You have never had a boyfriend. This year, we are getting you a boy," Caroline told me before going back to my sister leaving me speechless.

"We just talked for hours," Elena said.

"Okay. What is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already. Okay, it's easy. Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. Sex," Caroline said with a smile.

I chocked again on my drink.

"Profound," Elena said before getting up from her seat.

"Where are you going?" Bonnie asked.

"Caroline's right. It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it. Instead of doing what I started the day saying I was going to do," Elena said.

"You wanted to jump his bones since this morning?" I asked confused and a bit disgusted.

"You're coming with me," Elena said about to grab my arm.

"Can't I'm making dinner tonight with Jenna," I said, "Well, more like Jenna is going to be watching me make dinner... You have fun I guess."

Elena left and the girls and I finished folding the programs. I went to the store to buy what is needed to make dinner and went home.

~ At home ~

I had finished separating food for lunch tomorrow, and for Jeremy to eat for dinner (which I left in his room) when Elena came in and took out ice cream to make a sundae. She was talking about meeting Stefan's brother, Damon. I can't believe she is so but hurt on not knowing about Damon. It was so obvious when we first question him about siblings that he doesn't get along with his big brother.

"Elena, you just started dating Stefan. You don't even have his number. You can't expect him to tell you everything about himself right away. It will take time," I said to her.

"He's on the rebound, and has raging family issues," Elena continued on to say as she ignored my comment.

"At least it's an ex-girlfriend," Aunt Jenna said, "Wait until you date a guy with mommy issues or cheating issues. Or amphetamine issues."

Jeremy suddenly walked through the door, trying to be discreet but Aunt Jenna saw him and walked after him as he tried to go up the stairs. I was trying to hold in my laugh during the exchange between the two of them. It wasn't until she through an apple at him that I laughed a bit. I cleaned up my mess and went to shower before changing into my pajamas. I had promised Mrs. Lockwood to perform the day of the comet, and she said I can make a profit if I did. So, I had to get my beauty sleep.

~ Jeremy's P.O.V. ~

I walked into my room putting my stuff down to see a plate of food on my bed. I sighed when I saw it and decided to eat it for I was hungry.

"God, I love my twin sister," I told myself.

~ The Next Day ~

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I was in the middle of the park playing my cello for people. I had on a long very light pink dress (that looked close to white) that stopped mid-calf, my hair curled, and was placed over my right shoulder with a baby pink flower pin holding it together, and small baby pink heels. I had a jar on the side in front of me, as I played. People would put money in it. I guess they liked my music. From the corner of my eye, I saw Bonnie and Elena passing out the programs we folded yesterday. It looked like an important argument, but I couldn't be bothered. I had to play my music.

I had finished my first song and decided to play some Disney songs for the kids that were in the park. The little kids that already finished having their face painted all migrated towards me as they sat down. Their eyes shining with happiness as they recognized the song. I smiled at their innocence.

Zack and Stefan were talking in his room.

"What is Damon doing here? Why did he come home?" Zack said.

"Cause I came home. He wants to make my life miserable," Stefan said buttoning his shirt, "That's how he enjoys his."

"Well he's putting us all at risk," Zack said, "This girl in the hospital could talk."

"She won't. I took care of her," Stefan said.

"You're sure?" Zack said.

"I'm not sure Zack," Stefan said sighing, "I don't know how well it worked. I'm not as strong as Damon."

"So, what happens if it doesn't work?" Zack said.

"I don't know. I'll deal with it," Stefan said as he walked to the door.

"Is she worth it?" Zack said, "Uncle Stefan, this girl you came back for? What about Harmony? She's not your sister anymore."

Stefan left the room with a frown.

Everything was so beautiful. I was with Matt, Caroline, and Tyler. Caroline praising our work as Tyler lit my candle for me. After a while being outside, we went inside the Grill to grab a bite to eat. Jeremy soon walked up to us asking for Vicki.

"You're her stalker. You tell us," Tyler replied.

I kicked him with my leg.

"I can't find her," Jeremy said. His tone making me worried.

"She probably found somebody else to party with," Tyler said, "Sorry Pill Pusher. I guess you've been replaced."

My eyes widened. 'Jeremy would never deal with drugs. Take them sure, but never deal. Guess Elena doesn't have faith in him' I thought.

"What's with the pill pusher?" She asked Tyler.

"Ask him?" Tyler said.

"You wanna do this right now?" Jeremy said.

"Are you dealing?!" Elena exclaimed.

"He will never do that, Elena!" I standing up for my twin.

"She's never gonna fo for you," Tyler said.

"She already did. Over and over and over again," Jeremy said making me wince as I looked at Matt.

"Yeah right," Tyler said.

I saw Matt roll his eyes in frustration, and I couldn't agree more.

"You slept with Vicki Donovan?! I mean Vicki Donovan slept with you?" Caroline asked.

I gave her a look.

"There's no way," Tyler said.

"And I didn't even have to force her into it," Jeremy said, "I'm shocked that my twin sister is your friend. I won't be surprised if she came home saying you were forcing her also."

Once again my eyes widened. This time in shock and disgust, that Tyler would actually do something like that to Vicki and for what Jeremy said about me.

"What the hell is he talking about Ty?" Matt said getting angry at his friend.

"Nothing, man, just ignore him he's a punk," Tyler said.

"You know what, how about all of you shut up and help me find my sister?" Matt said.

"We'll check the back," Bonnie said.

"I'll check the square," Matt said.

"I'll go with you," Jeremy said only for Elena to grab him.

"You are coming with me," Elena said before looking at me, "You too."

I followed my siblings.

"So that's your game now? Dealing?" Elena said.

"He would never deal. I can't believe you really think he would," I said getting fed up with my sister.

"I'm not dealing," Jeremy said.

"Look, I'm sick of the tough love speech, Jer. It's clearly having no impact," Elena continued on saying.

"You and Jenna, between the two of you it's enough already! At least Harmony leaves me be me," Jeremy said.

"We can stop if you want. Send you to a therapist, where you'll be forced to deal with it. Or, to rehab where you'll sit in some group and tell some stranger how you let your life fall apart. Or, you could talk to me," Elena said.

"I vote for none of the above," Jeremy said before leaving.

I looked at Elena with disappointment.

"You really are the worst, Elena," I told her my eyes watering, "You need to give Jeremy time to grieve in his own way. You always pushing him will only make him spiral down farther. And for you to not have faith in him is unbelievable. You're not mom. So, don't act like her. Cause you will never be like her."

With that, I left.

After a while, I saw Matt with Vicki entering the Grill and followed after texting Jeremy that Matt found her. He was fixing her bandage as I was watching from where I was sitting with Bonnie and Caroline. Stefan came in a little later, and I found out that it was Stefan who found her and helped her found Matt.

"Uh, it's so much drama," Caroline said, "Ever notice how the druggies are the biggest attention whores?"

"Yeah," Bonnie said.

"That's not a nice thing to say," I told Caroline as my eyes narrowed at her.

Stefan soon came up to us.

"Excuse me. Hi," Stefan said.

"Hi," Bonnie said.

"Um, have you guys seen Elena?" Stefan said.

"I think she went home," Bonnie said.

"She left me? How rude," I said before remembering how rude I was to her.

As Stefan was about to leave, Bonnie said, "I'm gonna give you Elena's cell number and her email. She is big on texting and you can tell her 'I said so.'"

"Thank you," Stefan said smiling as he went to grab the paper.

I watched as Bonnie's hand touched Stefan's and she paused. Caroline and I looked between the two curious about what was happening. What was wrong?

"You okay?" Stefan said.

"Bonnie?" I asked.

"What happened to you?" Bonnie told Stefan before snapping out of her trance, "That was so rude. I'm sorry. Excuse me."

As Bonnie left, Caroline said, "Yeah, she kind of wigs out. It's like her thing."

I looked at the time and said, "Well, it's time I go home. See you guys."

~ Meanwhile at Gilbert House ~

~ Elena's P.O.V. ~

I was heading to my room when I heard noises in Jeremy's room.

"Jer?" I called out only to find Aunt Jenna there.

"No, it's me. The Hypocrite Patrol," Aunt Jenna said.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"I've become my worst nightmare," Aunt Jenna said as she continued to look through Jeremy's room, "The authority figure, who has to violate a 15-year-old's privacy. Jackpot! I see the hiding places haven't gotten any more creative."

"What brought this on?" I asked.

"Your arse-hat of a history teacher shamed me good yesterday," Aunt Jenna said.

"You got Tannered," I said sighing, "Been there. I think the only person who has never been Tannered is Harmony."

"'Discover the impossible Ms. Sommers.' Got it. Thanks. Like I didn't know I was screwing up," Aunt Jenna said.

"You're not screwing up Aunt Jenna," I told her.

"Yes, am I. You know why?" Aunt Jenna continued before sitting down, "Because I'm not her. She made everything look so easy. You know, high school, marriage, having you... I can't do it. I'm gonna say or do the wrong thing and he's gonna get worse and it's gonna be my fault. Even Harmony has to make sure that everyone has food all the time... It's impossible."

"It's just the fear talking," I told her, "You're a little scared. That's all... We all are."

After a moment of silence, I said, "I have to do something. But are you gonna be okay?"

Aunt Jenna just smiled at me and nodded. I smiled back at her before getting up to head over to Stefan's house.

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I got home and quickly made food for my family for tomorrow's lunch. I got up and took a quick shower before putting on my pajamas and falling asleep the second my head touched my pillow. Tomorrow is going to be a new day. I can't wait.
