Chapter 7 - Haunted

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I managed to wake up early enough to take a shower before my siblings took over the bathroom. I also felt like spreading Halloween Spirit by making goody bags the day before and some extra sweet for when children go trick or treating. As I was taking a shower, I began to think about what happened with Vicki a few days ago. So many questions entered my mind. Is she a vampire? Is she still human? What's going to happen now? I feel something big is going to happen tonight. I am just not sure what it could be. I am happy that I convinced Uncle John to tell me what to use against vampires just in case. Because he had sent me a small box full of wooden stakes and a plant called a pink fluffy bathrobe I had gotten as a present last year, and a towel wrapped around my hair, I went to my room. When I was about to close the door, I saw Jeremy enter the bathroom. I shut the door and went to my closet. I was so excited about the Halloween party at school later today. Looking at my closet, I decided to wear an orange crop top with a high-waisted black skater skirt, black nylons, and my black ballet flats. I grabbed my bookbag and went down the stairs to the kitchen. I knew that they were going to have a search party for Vicki, so I also knew Jeremy would leave early to help and skip breakfast and most likely lunch as well. So, I made sure to quickly pack sandwiches and water in a bag. I managed to catch him before he left.

"Don't try to stop me, Har. I already had Elena do that," He told me.

"I know that. I wasn't going to stop you," I said before handing him the bag to him with a small smile, "Can't have you going hungry during the search. Just be careful Jeremy."

Jeremy gave me a hug before leaving with his food. I quickly went back to the kitchen and made breakfast for the rest of my family, before packing my own lunch and deciding to get breakfast from the Grill. I made sure to pack up my goodies in a cauldron and took it with me

~ At the Grill ~

I entered the Grill and went to place my order to go. While I waited, I saw Mayor Lockwood and Mrs. Lockwood having a quiet, but heated conversation. My order was ready and I decided to go up to the adults and try to brighten their day. It's Halloween after all. I gave the worker a goodie bag before heading for the table.

"Hello," I said with a smile.

"Harmony, dear," Mrs. Lockwood said smiling a bit forced, "How are you?"

"I'm doing good. Just getting breakfast to go," I said before having a serious face, "To tell you the truth, I saw that you two were having a rough morning and came to see how you both were doing."

The two adults looked at me surprised. Mayor Lockwood was the first to snap out of it.

"We're doing just fine dear. Just council business," Mayor Lockwood said.

I nodded and said, "Okay, Good... Well, that's not the only reason I came over here," I then reached into my cauldron and took out two goodie bags, "With the spirit of Halloween, here is something that, I hope, brightens your day."

I gave them the goodie bags and they both suddenly have real smiles on their faces.

"Thank you, Harmony," Mrs. Lockwood said.

I saw the time on the clock on the wall and faced the Lockwood couple.

"I have to get to school. It was nice seeing you," I told them as I ran to the counter and gave each employee a bag. They all thanked me and then went to school.

~ School ~

I was walking down the hall watching the students and staff set Halloween theme decorations all around the school. I saw Caroline give Bonnie her Halloween costume which happened to be a witch costume.

"How ironic," I thought.

"Seriously?!" Bonnie said.

"Come on," Caroline said, "Can someone please be excited that it's Halloween? I just wanted fun. You know, just some silly, fluffy, Damon-free fun."

Bonnie pulled out a necklace and looked at Caroline. "Isn't this the one you got from Damon?" She said.

"Yep. Wear it, toss it. I don't care," Caroline said, "I just want it gone... Hey, have you seen Elena? Do we know what she's wearing?"

"I was with Grams all weekend," Bonnie denied, "I haven't talked to her. Maybe she's with Stefan."

"Writing to his castle on his white horse," Caroline bitterly said.

"Don't be bitter," Bonnie said, "It provokes wrinkles."

I walked up to them with a smile.

"Hello, ladies," I said reaching in my cauldron, "Care for a bag of goodies?"

Caroline and Bonnie both grabbed a bag from my hands and thanked me. Caroline then asked if I knew what Elena was going dressed as.

"I don't know. Sorry," I told her.

Caroline sighed before having a mischievous smile. She looked at me and said, "What are you going as?"

I gave her a smile of my own before saying, "You'll have to wait and see."

We all laughed and headed for class.

~ Meanwhile with Elena ~

~ Elena's P.O.V. ~

Stefan stepped out for a bit, as Vicki claimed she needed to use the restroom. Vicki soon returned and walked over to her phone which made me nervous.

"Who are you calling?" I asked scared for the answer.

"Jeremy," Vicki said.

"Vicki you can't see Jeremy anymore," I said.

"Oh, come on. Don't you start? I'm gonna see whoever I want to see," Vicki said.

"Even though you could hurt him?" I said.

"I would never hurt Jeremy," Vicki said.

"I know that you think that," I tried saying, "But I can't take that risk. You're going to have to let Jeremy go now."

"Oh really?" Vicki said putting down her phone, "And how long have you've been preparing the 'you're not good enough' speech? I'm assuming its predates before the vampire thing."

"All I'm saying is that Jeremy is not getting involved with any of this," I said, "I mean it, Vicki."

"Or what?" Vicki said before choking me against a wall. "Let's get one thing straight, you perky little b**ch. You had my brother whipped for 15 years. 15 years, and then you dumped him. When I look at you, that is all I see. Just so you know. And I'm gonna see Jeremy whenever I want to see Jeremy. Because I have some fun new toys to play with, and I won't think twice about ripping your little head off. Got it? And lastly, your the only one who doesn't want me with Jeremy. Harmony accepts me because she knows I make Jeremy happy. I am thankful that I have her blessing."

Vicki let goes of me and leaves me alone.

~ Later that day ~

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I managed to have Jeremy give me Vicki's number. I finished leaving her a voicemail, saying that how much Jeremy misses her and that I was ready to convince him to go to the Halloween party at school tonight. And that, if she was up for it, to meet us there. Was that a bad idea? Maybe, but if she is still human and was just in a crazy druggie faze then I will give her the benefit of the doubt. I decided to have something small to eat before getting ready for the party, so I went downstairs. I saw Jeremy and smiled at him.

"Hey," I began before Jeremy motioned for me to wait.

"You gotta call me Vick. I don't get it. What is going on with you?" Jeremy said making my heart drop a bit as I saw Elena walk in, "Just, just call me please."

Once he hanged up, I spoke up, "Hey, Jer-Jer. Want to come to the Halloween party at school with me?"

"Yeah, it could be fun," Elena said, "We can all go."

"Cool. Sure. Sounds, uh. Sounds fun. Can't wait," Jeremy said making me smile.

"Yes! Ok, I'm going to get ready. Don't leave without me," I said grabbing a muffin and a glass of milk before heading to my room to get ready.

I dropped a few drops of vervain in my milk before drinking it and put on my Black Widow costume (outfit of Iron Man 2). I then on my makeup and curled my hair, before attaching a wooden stake in each boot, and vervain darts in the pockets on the belt. When I was ready I met up with Elena, who was wearing last year's costume, and Jeremy who didn't want to dress up.

"Wow, Har. You look great," Elena said.

"Thank you," I said.

~ At the Halloween Party ~

We were walking through the entrance of the party when Jeremy scared a group of little kids. I laughed as Elena hit his shoulder.

"Oh, come on Elena. It's Halloween," I said as we entered and Matt came up to us.

"Hey, you went with last year's costume too," Matt said.

"Yep. I didn't know that I was even gonna come tonight," Elena said.

"Me neither," Matt said before looking at Jeremy, "And you're going as you?"

Jeremy just rolled his eyes before leaving are the group. Oh well, is what I thought before my phone rang and I saw a text from Vicki.

"I'm at the Halloween Party at school," It said.

"Good, Jeremy is looking for you," I texted back.

"Where's Jeremy?" I heard the worry in Elena's voice.

"He went to go find Vicki. Why?" I told her as she walked away from us, "Elena!"

I sighed before looking at Matt.

"What do you think Matty," I said to him with a twirl.

"You look ready to kick some arse, Black Widow," He said with a smile.

"Want to find our siblings?" I told him and he nodded.

"Might be a good idea," Matt said to me.

As we were walking, I had one had down so that I can reach a stake and the other was around one of Matt's. We looked for a while before we saw Vicki with Elena and Stefan. One look at Vicki made me realize that she was a real vampire. Oh no. I saw how Vicki escaped and went looking for Jeremy. I managed to leave unnoticed and ran. Because if I find Jeremy, I will find Vicki.

~ TIME SKIP ~

I looked everywhere and still couldn't find her or Jeremy. That was until I heard Elena yell.

"VICKI NO!" I ran as fast as I can and saw Vicki throw Elena on wood. I took a vervain dart and a wooden stake in each hand as I walked quietly as I can go up to them. I saw Jeremy on the floor and ran to pick him up as Stefan grabbed Vicki. When she disappeared, Stefan ordered us to go inside. We headed for the door until Vicki shoved Jeremy away and grabbed Elena before hitting her. I didn't think. I just ran up behind Vicki to shove a vervain dart on her arm when Stefan stabbed her with a stake. Once I realized what he did I fell on the ground. Silent tears were falling down my face as I saw Vicki fall dead.

"Vicki! Vicki!" Jeremy was yelling.

Stefan looked at the scene with sad eyes. He then looked at Elena.

"Get them out of here," Elena said.

I felt Stefan wrapped an arm around me and Jeremy and we sped off back to our house. Once there, Stefan released us and as Jeremy sat in his bed I went to my room. I was still for a bit before heading to my journal and draw a dead Vicki, the date, and a brief description of what happened. When that was finished, I hid my journal on the hidden bottom of my drawer and walked to Jeremy's room. Seeing him cry broke my heart and I wrapped my arms around him. We both cried for Vicki. Sure she didn't live a good life, but she had me, Jeremy, and Matt. I was going to vervain her. She didn't deserve to die. God. Why Stefan?!

"Why does everybody have to die on me?" Jeremy asked me and Elena when she came in. We held on with all our might as we cried. Elena soon left to where I assume Stefan was and I stayed with Jeremy.

Later that night, Damon came to Jeremy's room and looked at us. I held my brother tighter, and I was glad when he didn't notice. He knelt down in front of us and compelled us to believe Vicki left town, and that we would be sad and that's okay. That all the dark times were over and we will be happy. Well, he didn't know I was on vervain, so I pretended. When that was over I secretly followed him and overheard him tell Elena what he did. That's when I knew that it was my sister that told him to take away our right to our memories. I was devastated and went back to my room and once again wrote down what Elena did so that I'll never forget. I put it away before texting John what happened at the party. He quickly texts me back, saying to keep pretending that I didn't know what was happening around me. And that to keep him posted. He was mad that Elena tried to make me forget but soon asked me to stay away from any vampire business if possible. If things became too much, he would come to visit. I thanked him before falling asleep.

Hopefully, tomorrow would be better. I will be there for Matt, and I will tell him the truth. I will tell him and Jeremy the truth. Jenna also. If they stop talking to me because they think I'm crazy... fine. At least they would know that I told them if they find out the supernatural world is real.
