Chapter 21 - Memory Lane

~ RECAP ~

I'm alive! Thank God. Now, to let you all know what has happened. Katherine came back. She stabbed my Uncle John. Jeremy tried to become a vampire. Katherine messed with Damon and Stefan. Damon killed Jeremy. Jeremy came back because he was wearing the Gilbert ring. Caroline was turned into a vampire by Katherine and had to break up with Matt after she hurt him. Tyler found out about his Uncle Mason becoming a wolf. Matt and Caroline broke up. Now, Jenna is having a barbecue at the house. Mason Lockwood, Mr. Saltzman, Damon, and Caroline are coming.

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I was in the kitchen, making dessert for the barbecue for Aunt Jenna, while Elena was talking to her. I was wearing my apron to protect my sky blue t-shirt and white shorts. My hair was in a high ponytail with strands framing my face.

"Thank you, for letting Caroline come," Elena told Aunt Jenna, "She could use a day of distraction."

"She's not the plus one I'm worried about," Aunt Jenna said, "Why is Damon coming?"

"Because Alaric is a pitty-taker," Elena replied, "Come on, Jenna. Be nice."

"Why should she be nice? It's Damon," I asked Elena as I was taking my cookies, cake, and pies out of the oven.

"I'll be nice when he learns to keep his paws off you," Aunt Jenna said.

Just then, Mason Lockwood entered the kitchen.

"Good news! I found the shot glasses," Mason said with a big smile making me smile.

"That would be my exit," Elena said walking away.

"My as well. I will come back to get food though," I said making my way outside with a glass of milk and plate of cookies that I served myself.

I saw Caroline with a bowl of chips and we smiled at each other. We walked outside to the front where Elena was.

"Was that Stefan?" Caroline asked.

"He hasn't called me back. I'm trying to decide if I should be worried," Elena said.

"I'm sure he's fine," I told Elena.

"God, I can not stop eating," Caroline said, "Stefan says it's a great way to sublimate the cravings. It's horrible. Fighting the urge for blood every minute of every day."

"I know Stefan really hates that part of himself," Elena said.

"Well yeah. He hates that you're a constant temptation," Caroline said still eating chips.

"He said that?" Elena asked surprised.

"He's a vampire, Elena. Even with control, a vampire's urge for blood is strong," I said to my sister rolling my eyes.

"Followed with wanting to rip out your jugular every time he's with you? Trust me. It's there," Caroline said, "That's why I had to break up with Matt."

Mr. Saltzman came outside to let us know that the food was ready. We all went inside. The game of Pictionary began and I had to hold in my laugh at Caroline and Aunt Jenna's answers to Damon's drawings.

"Dress! Ballerina! Ballet!" Aunt Jenna said.

"Puppy! Puppy! Puppy with a tutu!" Caroline said.

"Dances with wolves," Mason said.

"Mason wins. Again," Damon said making me raise my eyebrows.

"How is that a wolf?" Aunt Jenna said.

After a while of playing games, the adults went to the kitchen for dessert while Caroline left to take Elena to Stefan's house. I grabbed myself a plate of desserts and went to my room. Little did I know, Katherine had two spies nearby. One of them being Caroline.
