Chapter 23 - Plan B/Masquerade

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I was helping set up for the Lockwood Charity event. I was wearing black leggings, a red sleeveless boho high neck shirt, and my black tennis shoes. My hair was in a bun on top of my head. I was in the dining room fixing up the decoration for the table, as Aunt Jenna was talking to Mrs. Lockwood. Or should I say, Mayor Lockwood? I think it's nice she is trying to keep her husband's job in his memory.

"Jenna, thank you for wrangling the volunteers," Mrs. Lockwood said.

"Of course. For a good cause. Besides, Harmony can never say no to volunteering," Aunt Jenna said, "Plus, I have always been a sucker for the masquerade ball."

"So was Richard," Mrs. Lockwood said, "This was always his favorite party of the year."

Mrs. Lockwood left and Aunt Jenna entered the dining room, I was in when Stefan was grabbing stuff.

"Hey, Stefan," Aunt Jenna called out.

"Hey," Stefan said.

"So, Rick is cooking dinner tonight. If you want to stop by," Aunt Jenna said.

"Uh. I'm sorry Jenna, but Elena and I are taking a pause in our relationship," Stefan said making me scoff inside.

"Really?" Aunt Jenna said.

Stefan nodded.

"It didn't sound like it this morning," Aunt Jenna said smirking. At Stefan's face, she continued, "Light sleeper. Plus, you woke up Harmony."

"Honestly, you two were quite loud," I said smirking.

Aunt Jenna and I shared a look before she said, "We didn't hear anything."

We left Stefan there to continue to help around. I was walking by the window when I saw Bonnie, Stefan, and Damon knocking out Mason and taking him somewhere. I had a bad feeling, but until I knew more I will keep it to myself. The day continued on until I was in my room. I was looking through my options to wear for the masquerade when a sudden plea echoed in my head. It was like my whole focus turned in a certain direction, and I was suddenly in the Salvatore Boarding. I looked down at my body to see it translucent. Like I was a ghost. I saw Damon torturing Mason Lockwood with Jeremy standing nearby. I was shocked and tried to yell at them.

"Stop! What are you doing!?" I yelled.

However, it seemed like anyone could hear me. Well, almost everyone. I saw Mason's attention look in my direction and his eyes widened a bit. It looked like Damon was already planning on killing Mason. Just like Jeremy, I refuse to just walk away. Besides, if Mason could see me, maybe he can hear me. I walked closer to the boys until I was right next to where Mason was sitting. I brought my hand over one of his, and I felt him twitch as if he wanted to hold it. I held onto his hand as he spoke his last words for Jeremy and me to hear.

"Just look after Tyler. Make sure he never goes through this," Mason said to Jeremy before looking at me.

"I'll try. I promise," I said as I saw the tears in his eyes. "He will know what happened here. I promise."

Jeremy decided he couldn't see Mason's death and stepped out of the room. Damon then ripped Mason's heart out, and I gasped closing my eyes.

When I opened them again, I was in my room. I felt myself crying and wiped them away. I checked the mirror to see my eyes slightly puffy, but not that noticeable, and went downstairs to see if I could help to make dinner. Elena was entering the house as I stepped into the kitchen with Aunt Jenna.

~ Elena's P.O.V. ~

I had just entered the house when, suddenly, the phone rang and Aunt Jenna answered the phone. After a while, Jenna passed me the phone ignoring me when I asked who it was.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hello, Elena," Katherine spoke.

"Katherine," I said before she explained how she always knows everything and how Jenna was a spy for her.

Katherine had switched out Jenna's perfume and compelled her to stop drinking vervain. When mentioned how she could make Jenna hurt my sister I felt my whole body froze.

"I must say it was a shock to see your sister looking so much like Harmony Salvatore. However, just like in 1864, I can get rid of her. I'll just have Jenna do it for me," Katherine said.

I gasped and turned around when I heard a grunt come from the kitchen. Jenna had just stabbed Harmony in the stomach before stabbing herself.

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I turned to get some seasoning, and when I turned I felt an agonizing pain in my stomach. I grunted as I starred at the unfocused eyes of Aunt Jenna before looking down at the knife in my stomach. She then stabbed herself with the same knife.

"JENNA! HARMONY! NO!" Elena yelled before we both fell to the ground.

All I can remember was Elena calling for an ambulance before passing out.

~ AT THE HOSPITAL ~

~ Elena's P.O.V. ~

I had just finished talking to the doctor and went straight to Jeremy who was in the waiting room.

"The doctor said that they're going to be okay," I told Jeremy.

"Why would she do this?" Jeremy asked me.

"Because Katherine is trying to send the message that she can get to anyone," I said. My voice cracking.

"She'll pay, Elena. I don't know how, but she will," Jeremy said as he brought me into a hug.

~ Jeremy's P.O.V. ~

'Katherine is going to pay. She's going to pay for what she did to Jenna and Harmony.

~ No One's P.O.V. ~

Tyler finds out Mason is gone. Elena and Stefan break up officially. Damon apologizes to Elena. Katherine has Matt compelled to fight Tyler until Tyler kills him.

~ DAYS LATER/DAY OF THE MASQUERADE BALL ~

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

Me and Aunt Jenna were released from the hospital and made it home. The doctors were surprised at how better my cut was. It still had stitches but wasn't as bad as Aunt Jenna. I still wanted to go to the ball, and wouldn't take no for an answer, even if Jeremy, Elena, and Mr. Saltzman didn't want me to. So, I took the time to get ready.

I took a shower, tended to my wound, then wrapped myself in my pink bathrobe before entering my room. I closed the door and went to put on undergarments. I then put on my dress for the ball. It was a white Shali K high low halter dress, that was silver bead at the top and flowy, white from the bottom of my chest and stops an inch above my knees. I then slipped and my open-toe one-inch heels before sitting in front of my vanity to put on my make up and fix my hair. For makeup, I did a black and silver smokey eye, rosy lipstick, mascara, and eyeliner. I had my hair loose and curled. I grabbed my glittery handbag and tied my silver mask, which had silver glitter. When I finished I headed out the door and went to the party without my family knowing.

~ AT THE MASQUERADE BALL ~

I made entered the party and looked for the snack bar.

I was eating some finger food when Mrs. Lockwood came up to me.

"Harmony?" She called out to me. I turned to face her finishing the food in my mouth. "Wow. You look amazing. I heard that you were in the hospital."

"Yeah, it was an accident at home. But, I'm getting better, and I couldn't miss the ball. So, here I am," I said smiling, "What can I do for you?"

Because I know she wants me to do something.

"I was wondering if you can sing for a while," Mrs. Lockwood said.

I stared at her with wide eyes. "You want me to sing? In front of all these people?" I asked her in a whisper.

"Yes. I believe it would brighten up the party. Don't you?" Mrs. Lockwood said, "Of course I will pay you for your singing. So, what do you say?"

"I don't know any songs that can be used in a masquerade theme," I said trying to persuade her to change her mind. Her mind was made up though.

"You can sing any song you want, dear," Mrs. Lockwood said looking at me with pleading eyes.

I sighed because it wasn't that long that her husband died. So, I gathered up my courage and agreed to sing. Mrs. Lockwood gave me a big smile.

"Thank you," she said as she directed me outside, "I have to check on other things. Do your best."

With that, she was gone, and a made my way to the DJ and told him what the Mayor wanted. I told him the song I wanted to sing as I took out my inhaler and took some medicine. The first song I am thinking of singing is nerve-wracking, but if I can get through the first one the rest should be easier. Putting away my inhaler and setting my handbag at my feet I waited for the song to start. During that time, I saw Stefan take the hand of what looked like to be Elena. Of course, I knew it wasn't my sister. She's at home, so this had to be Katherine. Before my anger could let my anger out, the song began to play.

~ Stefan's P.O.V. ~

I was dancing with Katherine, trying to get her to put her guard down without her killing anybody.

"Why the charade?" I asked her.

"How's Jenna and little Harmony?" She countered, "I certainly didn't expect either of them to survive that. Lucky girls. Clumsy. How does one, stab someone before themselves? And look at little Harmony singing for us. She's quite talented, isn't she? Hopefully, she doesn't pull her stitches out."

"Katherine," I said after a quick glance at Harmony who was supposed to be at home.

"Hmm?" She questioned.

"I don't anyone to get hurt tonight," I told her.

"Ok. Then give me the moonstone, and nobody will," Katherine said.

"Well, see, I don't have the moonstone on me. So, you and I would have to go get it together," I told her.

"Hmm. I have a better plan. You go fetch it. And I will try not to kill anyone in the meantime," Katherine said.

"My way or you don't get it," I said.

Just then a fellow student, by the name of Amy, came up to us asking for Matt.

"Oh my God. Elena, you look so pretty. I love that dress. You look gorge," Amy said.

"Thank you. I love your necklace," Katherine said.

"Thank you," Amy said.

"Oh, it's a little crooked. Let me fix it," Katherine said going behind the girl before hurting her. Looking at me she said, "Paralyzed from the waist down. And now dead. The moonstone, Stefan. Tic-Tok."

Katherine threw Amy at me and left. I couldn't believe she did that in a public place. I glanced at Harmony and realized that she saw what Katherine did. Her eyes were wide in disbelief.

~ Jeremy's P.O.V. ~

Bonnie and I were outside when I heard singing. I looked at Bonnie who looked at me weirdly.

"What's wrong?" Bonnie asked me.

"I think Harmony is here," I said making her eyes pop.

"What!?" Bonnie asked, "How do you know?"

"She's singing right now," I said sighing, "I hope nothing happens to her."

~ BACK TO HARMONY ~

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

I just finished the song and saw Katherine kill Amy before leaving her body with Stefan. Stefan gestured me to stay where I was and I nodded before telling the band the next song I was going to sing.

~ LATER ON ~

I was eating some food as I was walking around and saw my sister with Jeremy and Bonnie. I went up to them smiling.

"Hey guys," I said gaining their attention.

"Harmony?! What are you doing here?! You're supposed to be at home," Elena said.

"So, are you," I said, "I didn't want to miss the party. Plus, Mrs. Lockwood asked me to sing a few songs."

Just then, Elena began to scream with one hand on her back. I ran behind her to see blood. Then blood was on her arm. What Bonnie said next made my blood freeze.

"Jeremy it's Katherine. She's linked to Katherine. Get them to stop. NOW!" Bonnie said, and Jeremy ran into the house. I decided to follow him.

We went upstairs to a separate room.

"Stop. You're hurting Elena! Everything you're doing to her is hurting Elena," Jeremy said.

I hid nearby, as Stefan told Jeremy to check on Elena.

"The three of us together. Just like old times. The brother who loved me too much, and the one that didn't love me enough," Katherine said making me frown.

"And the evil slut who would spread her legs for any man, and who only loves herself," I said showing up at the door. Katherine gave me a smirk.

"Little Harmony Salvator. Or should I call you Harmony Gilbert now?" Katherine said.

"What are you doing here?" Damon said.

"I wanted to see the b****h that killed me back in 1864," I said not caring that I let my brothers know I am the same, Harmony. Their Harmony.

"She what?" Damon said.

I looked at my brothers.

"Oh, you didn't know? Katherine left me for dead the night the vampires were rounded up. If it wasn't for Emily Bennet, I would have died alone," I said glaring at Katherine.

"Please. I wanted something and you were in the way," Katherine said.

"Really? Because you barged into our lives and made my brothers completely forget me. All the promises that were made were broken because they wanted to be with you," I said, "You tore my brothers apart, and for that, I will never forgive you. I hope you know that one day you will get what's coming to you."

With that, I left the room and went to stay with my sister. Jeremy left to take Bonnie home and I was going to go home with Elena.

The next thing happened so fast. Someone grabbed both of us and knocked us out.

A/N: Sorry for all the short chapters. Sometimes it's hard for me to write. However, I hope this chapter is to your liking. I welcome any advice on how to improve the story. Harmony is an angel. So, I had the idea that an angel can heal faster, can project themselves somewhere else, and can bring people back from the dead. Will she have wings later on? Maybe. Maybe not.

Let me know if you would like her to have wings when she uses her abilities.

Let me know who you want her to end up with. I'm thinking an OC/Kol. But let me know who you think she should be with. Or if you want her to stay alone.
