I don't own anything besides Harmony Gilbert.

Chapter 24 - Rose

~ Elena's P.O.V. ~

I woke up as a man was untying my arms and legs. I quickly glanced beside me to see Harmony unconscious but coughing every so often because of the dust from this abandoned house. Looking back at the man I asked, "What do you want?"

"Shh," He said.

"Please, I'm hurt," I said.

"I know," the man said as his face changed into a vampire, "Just a taste."

Just as he was about to bite me a woman stopped him.

"Trevor! Control yourself," the woman said.

The man left the room after calling the woman a buzz kill, and the woman turned to face me.

"My God. You look just like her," She said.

"But I'm not," I said standing up.

"Be quiet," The woman said.

"I'm not Katherine. My name is Elena Gilbert. This is my sister, Harmony. You don't have to do this."

"I know who you are. I said be quiet," She told me. However, I needed to know what they wanted from us.

"What do you want?" I said before the woman backhanded me.

"I want you to be quiet," was the last thing I heard before I knocked out.

I finally woke up to see my sister gesturing for me to be quiet. I nodded as coughed a bit. I looked around for my bag to see that it wasn't there. Great. My inhaler was in it. Luckily, I am not having an attack. I then turned to Elena, and the two of us followed the sounds of voices.

"How are they?" A woman's voice said.

"They are both sleeping, and the younger one still coughs every so often," A man said.

"You didn't touch them, did you?" The woman asked.

"Give me some credit," the man said before changing the subject, "So, did you call him?"

"No, I called one of his contacts," the woman said, "You know how this works."

By this time I and Elena were slowly making our way up the stairs. Because the two of us still injured.

"Did you or did you not give the message to Elijah?" The man said.

"They say he got it," the woman said.

"Wonderful," the man said, "Now what?"

"So, that's it, Trevor," the woman said, "He either got it or he didn't. We just have to wait."

"Then it's not too late. We can leave her here. We don't have to go through with this," Trevor said.

"I'm tired of running," The woman said.

"Yeah? Well, running keeps us from dying," Trevor said.

"Elijah is old school. If he accepts our deal, we're free," the woman said.

It was at that moment, Elena stepped on a creeky wood and I winced as it made noise. We were caught eavesdropping.

"You!" The woman said as she stomped towards us.

I stepped back to the wall trying to control my racing heart. Being scared wasn't helping, and neither was coughing. The woman glared at the two of us.

"There's nothing around here, for miles. If you think you are getting out of this house. You're tragically wrong. Do you understand?" The woman said to us.

"Who's Elijah?" Elena asked.

"He's your worst nightmare," the woman said.

The woman walked away, and Elena and I followed her.

"Why are we here?" Elena asked.

"You keep asking these questions like I'm going to answer them," The woman said.

"Why won't you?" I asked.

"That's another one," the woman said.

"You got us. Okay? It's not like we can go anywhere. The least you can do is tell us what you want from us," Elena said.

"I, personally, want nothing. I'm just a delivery service," the woman said.

"To who? Elijah?" Elena said.

"Two points to the eavesdropper," the woman said.

"Who is he?" Elena asked, making me roll my eyes.

"He's obviously a vampire, Elena," I said.

"He's one of the vampires. The Originals," the woman added.

"What do you mean, the originals?" Elena asked.

"He's one of the first vampires," I said making Elena give me a look, "It's obvious by the title. Original means the first or model of something."

"Your sister is very smart. I'm surprised that your Salvatore brothers haven't educated you on your vampire history," the woman said.

"You know Stefan and Damon?" Elena said.

"I know of them. A hundred years back, a friend of mine tried to set me up with Stefan," the woman said, "She said he was one of the good ones, but I'm more into the bad boys. Though, I digress."

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Rose," The woman, now known as Rose said.

Not wanting to stray from the topic, my sister said, "Who are the Originals?"

"Trevor and I have been running for 500 years. We're tired. We want it over. We're using you to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess. Your sister was just caught in the crossfire," Rose said.

"But why me?" Elena said.

"Because you're the Petrova doppelganger. You're the key to breaking the curse," Rose said.

"Cruse?" I asked.

"The sun and moon curse?" Elena asked.

"Oh, you do know your history," Rose said.

"What do you mean I'm the key. The moonstone is the thing to break the curse," Elena said.

"No. The moonstone is what binds the curse. Sacrifice is what breaks it," Rose said as a fact.

"Sacrifice?" Elena said.

"Oh my God," I said covering my mouth with one hand.

"The blood of the doppelganger. You're the doppelganger. Which means, in order to break the curse, you're the one that has to die," Rose said.

"Tell me more," Elena said.

I heard footsteps coming from behind us.

"Captivity has made her pushy, eh?" Trevor said, "What do you want to know, doppelicious?"

"Who are you running from?" Elena said.

"Elena, Rose just said that it's the Originals," I said coughing a bit.

"I know, but does that mean?" Elena said.

I sighed. My sister can be such an airhead. Trevor began to explain how he helped Katherine escape which marked not only him but Rose as well. They left the room and the two of us went back to the room we woke up in and sat down. Elena found a message from Bonnie that Stefan and Damon were on their way. I was happy at first, but I had a feeling they were coming for Elena and that they didn't know I was with her. After a while of waiting, and as Rose was packing, Trevor came into the room in a panic. Elijah was here. My heart began to race again. What was going to happen now? Rose went to get Elijah, and Trevor stayed with us.

I stayed sitting down, as Elena was pacing. It wasn't long until a handsome man in a suit appeared at the top of the stairs. In a blink of an eye, he stood in front of Elena. He bent his head to smell her neck before lifting it.

"Human. That's impossible," Elijah said to himself before looking at my sister, "Hello, there. Well, we have a long journey ahead of us. We should get going."

I pushed Elena behind me.

"Please, don't let him take me," Elena said to Rose, who looked away.

"And who are you?" Elijah said as he looked at me with disbelief.

"She was with the doppelganger, so we had to bring her also," Rose said.

Elijah stared at me for a moment before saying, "One last of business. Then we will be on our way."

Elijah then made his way to Trevor. After Trevor apologized, Elijah made him lower his guard before slapping his head off his shoulders. Elena and I gasped and Rose began to cry. When Elijah reached out to Elena, she mentioned the moonstone and Elijah pushed me aside softly before compelling her to tell him where it was. I was both shocked and angry that the Salvatore brothers kept Katherine alive. I would have thought they killed her. Guess I was wrong.

The sound of glass shattering alerted us that we were not alone in the house. Elijah grabbed my arm softly as he grabbed Elena forcibly and we made our way to the front door.

Something zoomed by us, and Elijah pushed Elena and me too Rose.

"Rose?" Elijah asked.

"I don't know who it is," Rose said.

"Up here," Stefan's voice was heard at the top of the stairs.

Elijah sped to the stairs.

"Down here," Damon's voice was heard from the bottom nearby us.

Elijah was shot with a stake, distracting him as we were grabbed. I didn't see Elena, but Rose was with me. Damon had his hand covering our mouths.

"Excuse me. To whom it may concern, you're making a grave mistake if you think that you can beat me. You can't. Do you hear that? I repeat. You can't beat me," Elijah's voice echoed before the sound of something breaking was heard. "So, I want the girl and her sister on the count of three. Or heads will roll. Do we understand each other?"

"I'll come with you. Just please don't hurt my sister or our friends. They just wanted to help me out," Elena's voice was heard.

The next thing I know, Elijah is screaming and a fight broke out. Elijah was soon stabbed with a coat hanger by Damon, and Rose fled the scene. When it was over, Elena and Stefan hugged as I walked up to the three. However, I stopped. It appeared that I was forgotten. The look my brothers' eyes said it all. Their focus was Elena, and Elena only. I didn't want to believe it right away and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't like 1864. I stayed quiet and followed them outside before they sped to the car that wasn't anywhere nearby the house.

My heart ached and I swallowed the lump forming in my throat. Tears filled my eyes before rolling down my cheeks.

They left me.

I went back into the house and sat just outside the front door. Hoping that they will come back for me. However, as time went by, my hope began to die.

I heard the door opening from my room.

"Elena! Harmony!" I yelled waking Bonnie.

The two of us ran out of the room and saw Elena walking up the stairs. Bonnie hugged her.

"God. Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm okay," Elena said to me before looking at Bonnie, "I got your message."

I then went to hug her tightly. As we hugged I realized Harmony was missing. I pulled away from the hug and looked at Elena.

"Where's Harmony?" I asked.

My heart sank as the look of realization came to Elena.

"Oh, God. We left her at the house," Elena said.

"YOU WHAT?!" I yelled in disbelief, "How could you leave her there?!"

"All lot of things happened and I just forgot," Elena tried to justify leaving Harmony behind.

I shook my head.

"We need to go get her," I said, "I can't believe you left her. Harmony would've never forgotten you."

~ BACK TO HARMONY ~

~ Harmony's P.O.V. ~

When it started getting dark out, I went back inside the house and sat at the stairs. I trying to figure out how to go home, when the noise made me look up to see Elijah alive. As he was taking the hanger out of his chest he noticed I was there. I stayed where I was because I knew that I couldn't outrun him. He sped to me and looked me straight in the eye.

"Why are you still here? I would have thought you left with your sister," Elijah asked me.

"They forgot about me," I said in a quiet voice.

"How unfortunate," Elijah said. The look on my face made him smirk before he said, "Don't worry. I have no need to harm you. If you come with me, to finish some business, I will take you home after."

"How can I trust you?" I asked.

"What options do you have? Your sister left you here. Alone. Unprotected," Elijah said.

I sighed before nodding and the two of us made our way out of the house.

~ TIME SKIP (Because I'm Lazy) ~

Just like he promised, Elijah left me two blocks from my house. When I made it home, I was greeted by my siblings. Elena tried to apologize, but I didn't want to deal with her at the moment and Jeremy followed me into my room. After making sure I was okay, he laid on my bed as I went to shower and change. Coming back to my room, the two of us went to sleep.
