Rising Storms

A Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover

Part 2

Chapter 1:

Harry

As the group gathered in the grand throne room of Olympus, the air was charged with a palpable sense of tension and anticipation. The gods and goddesses sat upon their ornate thrones, their regal presence casting an aura of power and authority over the assembled mortals and demigods.

Harry stood alongside Percy, his friends and allies clustered around him, their expressions a mixture of awe and trepidation as they faced the divine beings before them. The room seemed to shimmer with otherworldly energy, and Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sight.

Hades, the dark and brooding god of the underworld, stood apart from the other gods, his gaze fixed on Harry with an intensity that sent a shiver down the young wizard's spine. With a silent nod, Hades motioned for Harry to join him away from the group, his expression unreadable.

Curiosity mingled with apprehension as Harry approached Hades, the god's presence looming over him like a shadow. "You wanted to speak with me, Lord Hades?" Harry ventured, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Hades regarded Harry with a piercing gaze, his dark eyes seeming to bore into Harry's very soul. "Indeed, Harry Potter," he replied, his voice deep and resonant. "There is a matter of great importance that I wish to discuss with you."

Harry's heart skipped a beat at Hades's words, a sense of foreboding settling over him like a cloak. "What is it?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Hades's expression softened slightly, a rare hint of warmth flickering in his eyes. "You are a descendant of mine, Harry," he began, his voice low and solemn. "A child of the underworld, born of the blood of Hades."

Harry's mind reeled at the revelation, his thoughts swirling with confusion and disbelief. "But… how is that possible?" he stammered, struggling to make sense of Hades's words.

Hades placed a hand on Harry's shoulder, his touch surprisingly gentle. "The blood of the gods runs through your veins, Harry," he explained, his voice tinged with sadness. "And now, I wish to offer you a gift."

Harry's eyes widened in astonishment as Hades reached into the folds of his dark robes, retrieving a small, shimmering stone. "This is the stone from the destroyed ring horcrux," Hades explained, holding it out to Harry. "It holds great power, and it is rightfully yours."

Harry stared at the stone in awe, his mind racing with the implications of what Hades was offering him. "But why me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Hades's gaze softened, a rare smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Because, Harry, you are the best choice to wield the power of life and death," he replied, his voice filled with certainty. "With you as the master of death, the balance of the underworld will be restored."

Harry's head swam with a whirlwind of emotions as he took the stone from Hades's outstretched hand, his fingers trembling slightly. "I… I don't know what to say," he murmured, his voice choked with emotion.

Hades nodded solemnly, his eyes reflecting a sense of understanding. "Take your time, Harry," he said, his voice gentle. "The path ahead will not be easy, but know that you have the support of the gods behind you."

However, before Harry could respond, Zeus's booming voice echoed through the throne room, drawing the attention of everyone present. "Hades, are you fading?" Zeus demanded, his tone laced with concern and suspicion.

Hades's expression remained impassive, though a flicker of annoyance flashed in his eyes. "No," he replied tersely, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. "I simply cannot handle all of the responsibilities of the underworld by myself without any help. I am tired of it, and I wish to pass on some of the duties."

The revelation sent murmurs rippling through the assembled gods and demigods, the gravity of Hades's words sinking in. Harry watched in silence as Hades and Zeus exchanged a tense glance, the weight of their conversation hanging heavy in the air.

For a moment, the throne room seemed to hold its breath, the tension palpable as Harry stood on the precipice of destiny. And as he felt the weight of the stone in his hand, Harry knew that the path before him was fraught with challenges and uncertainties.

James Potter cast a tempus, and was startled at the date underneath the time. "August 18th, 2009?"

"What?" Harry ran over to his dad in his shock. The other wizards gathered around too. "We were in May of 1997 when we left!"

The gods and demigods looked around, shocked, as James said, "I get the two universes are in different months and years, but flow at the same time? We'd have to see when we get back."

Harry nodded. "I'll draw out a timeline, if time in our world didn't pause."

"You're leaving?" Percy asked.

Harry looked at the demigod that looked so much like him. "Yes, I have to graduate from Hogwarts, my school. Then I'm free to come back."

"Okay," Percy said.

"Don't forget the girlfriends," Sirius teased Harry.

"Siri!" Harry exclaimed. "Daphne and I haven't discussed our future like that! And I'm still getting to know Susan."

Before anyone else could say anything, Severus said, "I believe we should head back. We wouldn't want to be late to our meeting, and we can get an inheritance to see if we have any godly ancestors during our meeting."

James nodded and waved his wand again, saying a spell before tossing an object into thin air. The object expanded and a portal appeared. "Alright, let's go." He stepped into the portal first. Then Remus and Sirius, with their son. Draco was next, eagerly moving through.

Severus Snape looked at Harry. "You come through last. Then the Potter artifact will appear in your pocket." Then he stepped through the portal.

Harry smiled and waved at everyone. Then he glanced at Hades. "I'll think about it," he promised. Then, he too, was through the portal and stepping into an office in Gringotts. The portal closed behind him and the artifact appeared in his pocket.

They were in the vast chamber that they had left from. Harry looked around, and saw a goblin entering the chamber. "Hello, master goblin," Harry said politely. "May we speak with the Head Goblin of Gringotts?"

The goblin happily took the group of travelers to the office of Torik, the Head Goblin for the British branch of Gringotts. "They're back," he said as soon as he opened the door.

"Let them in," came the response. Torik was an older goblin, stern-faced and stiff-backed, and he didn't look up from his papers until everyone was inside the office and the door was shut. His dark eyes lifted to look at the group of four men, two teens, and child. "Before I ask you how your trip was, I will let you know that you are back on the same day that you left. It's a few hours after you left, around dinner time, actually." He gave a creepy smile at their relief. "Now, how was your trip?"

James smiled. "It was good. We stepped out of the portal in the middle of a battle. Some teens were fighting these beings that were obviously not human, or rather... not mortal." He had to hurriedly correct himself so as not to offend the goblins. "People were soaring through the sky in chariots, fighting this elemental-like being. We jumped in to help the teens and, after a few hours, we actually made our way up to Olympus to finish the fight and protect the land of the gods."

"You met the gods?" Torik asked, sitting forward.

Harry nodded excitedly. "We did! We learned that the teens there are actually demigods, and then after everything was settled, Hades pulled me aside to tell me that I was a descendant of his and then he gave me the stone from the destroyed ring Horcrux that no one knew about. Speaking of which, why wasn't it summoned like the snake was when we destroyed the others?"

Torik sighed. "It's likely that the ring was under very powerful wards. I had some reports that Tom Riddle was in the countryside on his way to Hogwarts on foot when the snake was summoned to the ritual." He shrugged. "Lord Hades said that you are a descendant of his?"

"Yes, Head Goblin Torik," Harry said. "We would all like to get new inheritance tests done to see which gods we might be related to, and how that could have come about."

"Very well." Torik passed out special parchments to everyone but Regulus and James. "Seven drops of blood."

One by one, they cut their finger and let seven drops of blood fall onto the parchment. "Nothing on mine," Severus said, unsurprised.

Draco scoffed. "Nothing on mine, either. I guess the Malfoys didn't hold to that belief? Which is just silly, as only Dumbledore would be so restrictive."

"Maybe that's it," Harry said. "Dumbledore was so restrictive that even the Malfoys couldn't go against it?"

"It's no use wondering the 'what ifs'," Remus said, looking up from his parchment. "Nothing," he muttered.

Sirius stared at the name on his test, connected to his great-grandfather. "Hades," he said.

"What?" Harry looked at him briefly before finally looking down at his own Inheritance test. He knew that with Dorea Potter being a born Black, it was a possibility that Hades had been telling the truth. His first shock was on his mom's side of the family tree. Two gods. "Tyche and Eros, on mom's side." He just stared at that parchment. His mom wasn't just an ordinary muggleborn.

"What?" Draco looked at his friend in shock. "I thought she was a muggleborn."

Harry shook his head. "This test is showing squibs, and mom's entire family were squibs from the lost Ravens family. With the introduction of godly essence, she was the first that reawakened their family magics," Harry said. He smiled up at his dad. Then he looked at his paternal side. "Grandma Dorea is descended from Hades. There's Eros on the Potter side." His eyes followed up the line to the three Peverell brothers. "Oh, Merlin," he said.

"What is it," James asked. Harry handed him the inheritance test, and James read it. "The Peverell brothers are the grandsons of two gods?"

"Which two?" Sirius asked.

"Thanatos and Nemesis."

Draco looked confused. "You mean like the story of the Deathly Hallows?"

"The very same brothers," Remus said.

Severus hummed. "If I remember the old stories correctly, Thanatos is Hades's son. So, you two are descended from Hades twice over," he said, looking at Harry and James.

James nodded. This was going to be fun. "Well, thank you, Head Goblin Torik, for your help with this."

"Dad, that's not all." Harry pointed to a name connected to Cadmus Peverell. Tom Riddle.

"We're related to that guy?" James shuddered in revulsion.

"Distantly."

They bowed to Torik and left the office, getting an escort to the lobby of the bank. Torik grinned when he was alone. "They're going to get a surprise when they walk outside." He chuckled.

They were immediately bombarded with sound when they stepped outside of Gringotts as identical redheads were suddenly in front of them and yelling.

"How dare you leave us behind! We were right there beside you when you walked through the portal and it closed!" Fred & George Weasley pointed their fingers at Harry.

Harry paled. He knew he had forgotten something. "Oops?"

"Oops? OOPS?!" They yelled.

Harry burst out into nervous laughing.

"This is no laughing matter!" Fred said.

"You're lucky that Lady Hestia could travel here by fire. She brought us to Gringotts and we came out here immediately to wait for you."
