Part 3
Chapter 12: A New World
Percy
Percy called for Hestia, asking her for safe travel to Harry's world. He and Apollo were standing in front of a bonfire at the Roman camp, and Percy held the clue from Hera in his hand. Then he reached out for Apollo's hand, and they stepped into the fire... heading wherever Harry was.
As soon as they stepped out of the fire, they were met with a weird little character with long ears and big eyes. "Who is yous?"
Percy smiled warily. "Hello? My name is Percy Jackson. This is Apollo. We are here to see our friend Harry."
The being looked at the two in suspicion. "Jin," they called, and another being appeared with a small pop. "Let Young Master Harry know that friend Percy Jacky is here," and the one named Jin left with another small pop.
"Percy Jacky," Apollo laughed. "I love this little creature!"
"You would," Percy said with a small smile.
A few minutes later, footsteps came down the hall before a familiar face came through the doorway. "Hi, Percy. Hi, Apollo. What's going on?"
"If that's bes all, Young Master Harry?"
Harry turned to the creature. "Yes, thank you, Teak." Teak left and Harry explained, "Teak and Jin are house elves. They have a symbiotic relationship with wizarding families, where they serve the family and get to use the ambient magic of the household to survive."
"Oh," Percy said.
"So, what brings you here?"
Apollo spoke up, "Hera is missing again, and no one knows anything about it. We're searching for her, but decided to take a break so that we could come visit you."
"Well," Harry offered. "Daphne, Susan, and I were going to head into Diagon and I would be honored if you would come with us."
Percy snorted. "Your dad wants you to have some extra protection?"
Harry rolled his eyes and nodded. "With Daphne being eight months pregnant and Susan being three, he wants more people around to make sure that I can get both ladies out of there if danger approaches."
...
Percy never thought he'd find himself strolling through Diagon Alley. But here he was, arm in arm with Apollo, enjoying the crisp London air as they shopped for baby supplies with Harry, Daphne, and Susan.
The narrow cobblestone streets were bustling with witches and wizards, all going about their daily business. The shop windows displayed everything from the latest broomsticks to shimmering robes, but their group was headed towards the baby store.
"It's weird being here, shopping like normal people," Percy mused aloud, earning a chuckle from Apollo.
"Normal is relative, my dear," Apollo replied, his voice light. "And today, we are merely patrons of commerce and family."
Harry, who was walking slightly ahead with Daphne turned back and smiled. "It's nice, isn't it? Just being able to enjoy a day out without any impending doom looming over us."
Susan, walking on Harry's other side, nodded in agreement. "Let's enjoy it while we can. Who knows when the next big adventure will come knocking?" She looked around.
When they got inside the baby store, Daphne immediately went towards a rack of baby robes, her eyes wide with delight. "Oh, look at these! Aren't they adorable?"
Susan joined her, picking up a small, enchanted robe that changed colors due to the baby's mood. "This would be perfect. Imagine our little one changing the color of their robe as their mood shifts."
Apollo wandered off towards a section of musical toys, his interest piqued by a set of silver lyres that played lullabies composed by famous wizards and witches throughout wizardry history. Percy stayed by his side, amused by Apollo's childlike wonder at each new discovery. "Look, Percy," Apollo said, holding out the two lyres. "Do you think the ladies would be okay with me buying these for the babies?"
"I think they would," Percy replied. He acknowledged the beauty of the small lyres.
Their moment was interrupted by Harry's voice calling them over. "Guys, come see this!"
They walked over to the others, Apollo still holding onto the lyres, where Harry was standing with a levitating cradle that gently rocked back and forth.
Harry asked, "What do you think? For the baby, it could be comforting, don't you think?"
"It's perfect, Harry," Daphne said, her eyes reflecting the gentle movement of the cradle.
"Let's get two," Susan said. "One with pale green bedding and one with pale purple bedding."
"Great idea," Harry told Susan. He grinned and gave her a loving kiss to the lips. Then Daphne kissed her cheek.
Apollo got Harry's attention, and asked, "Is it okay for me to buy the babies these?" He showed the two lullaby lyres.
"Actually," Harry said. "I'll buy them. Then I'll show you to the bank here where you can exchange your drachmas. It's a different currency here, even different than the England of your world."
Apollo was about to say something, when Percy said, "If that's what you think best. Thank you, Harry."
When they were done with buying everything at the baby store, they walked outside to head to the bank. "So," Apollo asked suddenly. "Why are you three looking around so warily?"
Harry sighed. "There's been rumors going around that because I had a bad guy's soul shard in my head, I must have been influenced in some way and that I probably made a few horcruxes."
Before the question could be asked, two figures stormed towards them from the direction of the Leaky Cauldron, and the woman started yelling as soon as she saw Harry. "Harry James Potter!"
The woman had to somehow be related to Fred and George, Percy thought when he saw her, and he turned to Harry. "Related to Fred and George?"
"Their aunt, Molly Pruitt, who posed as their mom," Harry said, shrugging. "Long story."
"Don't you dare ignore me, you foul creature!" Molly yelled. People were starting to stare as she caught up with them. "How dare you parade around here, pretending to be some kind of hero? We know the truth about you!"
Harry's expression hardened, his previous joy fading into steely calm. "And what truth is that, Molly?"
"You're a dark wizard, creating horcruxes, spreading evil!" Molly accused loudly, causing a murmur to ripple through the gathered crowd.
