Second Chance, unknown world

This is my attempt of a RWBY/ Danmachi crossover. I don't see a lot of crossovers with these two series, and I want to take a crack at it. If I get the lore of Danmachi wrong, let me know, I want to improve so please. So without a further ado, let's get this started!

Haven Academy, the head huntsman academy in Mistral. Team RNJR, and Qrow made their way all the way from Patch in order, to warn Haven of an impending attack, from Cinder and her allies. The White Fang would be striking the academy, when they found out about the White Fang being involved again, it was almost too late. The headmaster Leo, had secretly betrayed them, and all of Remnant to the Queen of grimm. He was standing next to Hazel, Raven, and Cinder Fall, the main reason why Beacon has fallen, and the reason why, so many people were killed, and the team member, of team JNPR, Pyrrha Nikos.

Everyone grieved her in different ways, Ruby, was said and cried about it to herself, she wasn't fast enough to save her, and watched her die. But, she was glad that she was able to halt that grimm Wyvern, and Cinder from doing anymore lasting damage to Vale. Ren, and Nora grieved her too, but they had each other to comfort each other. They have lost their home once, but they knew how they can continue forward, no matter how much it hurts.

But Jaune Arc, grieved the hardest. Believing that if he was stronger then she wouldn't have pushed him away. If she had a better partner then she would be standing here today. So, he watches a recording for him, so that he can train, the basic drills Pyrrha taught him over and over again, until he passes out from exhaustion. He tortures himself because he knows that he is weak, and believes he deserve suffering for letting her die, and hearing her voice and the only comfort he can feel, without listening to her, always makes his heart hurt. And seeing her, always makes his heart hurt, so torturing himself feels justifiable.

He wants to kill Cinder, for taking the lives of others, and for taking Pyrrha from him. She was the first one to ever believe in him. Where his family never believed he could be a huntsman, only she did. He will kill her, for them for, taking everyones peace of mind. Taking his peace of mind.

He hasn't notice until later, that he was barely doing this for justice, he was doing this for revenge. Revenge for destroying someone he cared for the most. She made her feelings known by a kiss. He didn't know where it would of went. But, he felt stupid, chasing after Weiss, made him blind. He truly thought Weiss liked him, and with figuring out, she was being sarcastic, he felt so depressed by that. Girls never really gave him the time of day, hearing someone call him handsome, he assumed that she liked him in some way.

So he felt that he needs to be more aggressive in asking her out, and to make sure to show that he liked her for her. But, seeing how she was around Neptune, he knew he was losing his chance, hearing her ask out Neptune to the dance, with her rejecting him, he dropped it there and then. He was so sad, and depressed that another beautiful woman, didn't like him. Like Ruby, he never found it easy making friends, the only boy in a home over run by women, doesn't make you popular like you think. People only wanting to be your friend, due to the beautiful girls in your family. And finding out they didn't like you back, you just abandon the brother, and just ignore him.

So to hear that a girl had potentially interested in him, put him on cloud Nine. But things changed when he opened his eyes about Pyrrha, how close she was to him, and how much she cared, he could see the possibilities of things going forward, but his feelings were taken away for now, so time would have tell.

When, she died, he realized her feelings, but it was too late she was taken too soon from this world, and it was because of this woman, this grimm, this creature in human skin. He will kill her, he will avenge Pryyha Nikos death!

With Cinder talking looking elated, and happy with what she done. That made Jaune truly angry.

"All the lives you've taken, how could you talk about them like that, with that damn smile on your face?!" Jaune exclaimed toward her with tears coming down his eyes. His friends looked at him with shock, he never cursed or blew up like this. They can feel his pain through his voice, and their hearts reached out to him.

Cinder looked on with a small smile, almost looking indifferent but yet smug.

"Who are you again?"

Cinder asked in mock confused tone.

That caused him, to freeze up, and looked furious, and then turned his sword into a great sword, thanks to his shield combo. He charged at her with a swing coming down on Cinder's left side diagonally. She blocked that strike with her blade, and tried to parry him, and smack him away. But Jaune ducked, and went on for a strike, to hit on her side, the strength behind it, gave the briefest of pauses, seeing that he improved in strength, nothing she can't handle.

As the fight between them was going on, other conflicts was going on, Mercury was fighting Ruby, Yang was fighting Emerald, Qrow was fighting his sister, Raven, and Ren, Nora, and Oscar was fighting Hazel. A mountain of a man, bent on revenge.

Cinder and Jaune were charging at each other, it would have been the end of Jaune, not for Ruby, screaming out, and her eyes activating again. This gave pause to everyone present, looking at her in shock, but this caused Cinder to tremble and collapse on a knee in pain. She was gripping her gimmified arm in pain. Jaune too the initiative, and went stab her in her face. But Cinder moved in time, with Jaune taking off a piece of her skin on her left side of her face, one one fourth of an inch, is all he need to stab her fully in her face but she moved in time.

That enraged her, she screamed out in pain, and anger. How can this weakling hurt, a near goddess like her?!

"How dare you?!" Cinder yelled attacking Jaune with two blades now, she eventually got Jaune on her back, and pressing down on his gut with one of her heels.

"How dare you, did you really think you would have a chance against me?! You?!" Cinder Yelled at him.

Jaune struggled with the pressure, Cinder was putting on him, he tried to reach over towards his blade but Cinder stomped on him again. Jaune gave a pained exhale of breath.

"If I die buying them time, then it's worth it, they are the ones that matter. Something you will never understand!" Jaune yelled out to her, looking at her defiantly. This caused Cinder to growl a little but then gave a cruel smirk.

"You think so?" Cinder asked tauntingly. She looked at Weiss who was thrown to the ground, she struggled to get off the ground. Cinder then lifted her foot off of Jaune, and walked near Weiss, she formed a spear to throw at Weiss, Ruby was laying on the floor, due to Emerald, beating her. She tried to get up about to stop Cinder, but Cinder was mid throw, until.

"Weiss look out behind you!" Yelled out Jaune tackling Cinder from behind, this caused Cinder's aim to be off, and hit Weiss in her shoulder. Weiss screamed out in pain, and collapsed to the ground, gripping her shoulder in pain, with tears starting to come out of her eyes. Jaune got up from his tackle and ran towards Weiss and kneeled next to Weiss scared for her.

All he could see is Pyrrha, dying, and he didn't want that to happen to someone else he cared about. Ren and Nora ran over to Jaune to look at Weiss, Cinder looked on in fury for thwarting her kill. But drew in her anger, and demanded Leo to open the door to go to the vault.

Leo opened a hidden hatch, and an elevator opened up, Cinder, Raven, and Vernal went down it. Jaune was so worried for Weiss he thought of giving his aura to Weiss, he was so desperate to help, and heal her, he was desperate, and started to tear up, and voice starting to crack up a little in sadness. "Please, we can't lose anyone else." Jaune said almost crying. Ren was about to reassure him, that Weiss' life wasn't in danger, but stopped seeing Jaune glowing, with Weiss glowing too. Her aura was glowing, and the wound was closing fast, and she was rising up feeling, rejuvenated, and stronger. She looked at Jaune in wonder, and awe.

"How are you doing this?" Weiss asked. "I don't know I just wanted to help you, and I thought that giving you my aura could help." Jaune said to them. Weiss was about to say that you can't give your own aura to anyone, but Jaune's face lit up.

"I wasn't giving you aura, I was amplifying it. Pyrrha said that I had a lot of aura. I guess this is why I have so much. I always wanted to help all of you, in anyway, I guess this is it." Jaune said to them with a relieved smile.

After that was established Weiss summoned a giant Rapier Wasp Queen, and stabbed Hazel through his stomach, and threw him out of the building. Jaune was about to join the fight against Mercury, and Emerald, but then remembered Cinder. He gave a yell that he was going after Cinder, but Mercury and Emerald tried to stop him, Jaune swung his Crocea mors' pummel into emeralds face knocking her away, and he then turned to Mercury who was trying to grab him, but he gave Mercury a mean shield bash, staggering him back a little, then aimed low and gave his sword a big horizontal swing, cutting off Mercury's legs!

He then recovered quickly, and ran to the elevator, little did he know that Yang was standing next to him. "Woah Yang, what are you doing here?! You should be with them taking care of Hazel." Jaune said to Yang with the both of them on the elevator going down. "Jaune, we both know that you can not take down all three of them, you need back up, and I have faith in them that they can do this." Yang said to him with conviction. Jaune looked at her with slight awe, Yang was before so depressed about losing her arm, but now she takes jokes about it, and was a better fighter now too. She was more clear headed, and not use her semblance all the time. It was inspiring for him, for her to move forward after losing something so personal, a piece of her, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and possibly even spiritually.

She was a former shell of herself, at the lost of her arm, but she was able to move forward. But, yet he couldn't, he couldn't move forward, he couldn't stop hating Cinder, and he can never stop hating himself. Was he really doing this for others like he used to anymore, was he truly doing this avenge Pyrrha. Or was he just doing this for himself, just angry at a woman taking away something amazing from this world. Coming down, he made a decision, and try to not let his anger get the better of him during the beginning of the fight.

He then put a hand on Yang's shoulder, surprising her a little. But then she was feeling this huge burst of energy, she notice Jaune's arm glowing, he was using his semblance on her. She felt her aura come to the maximum output, and then some. She felt that she can take on Cinder, and her cronies all on her own, and winning. Jaune smiled at her while doing so.

"It's good to have you truly back with us Yang. No matter what happens, thank you so much for giving me the time of day for being my friend. And thank you for not punching me for being Ruby's friend, and for not attacking me for leaving with her." Jaune said to her looking away slightly blushing a little. This cause Yang to give him a smile, a normal big Yang smirk, but it was real though. She leaned over, took her human hand, turned his face towards him, and kissed him on the mouth. Not just a good passionate kiss, but with full tongue. Jaune was standing with such shock, he didn't even move. Yang Xia Long, one of the most beautiful girls he knows, is kissing him big time.

She moved back giving him half lidded eye stare, and trail of saliva coming from her mouth. She gave him a giggle.

"That was a thank you for being with Ruby, when I couldn't." Yang said to him in a small loving smile. "I was so into my head with losing my arm and Blake leaving, I wasn't there for her when she wanted to do more. I am the big sister, and needed to be the rock, but it ended up my little sister being the rock. She was the one who went diving into danger, and you were the one who helped lifted her up, and stood by her, even though you were so sad about losing Pyrrha, you still kept going, fighting, surviving, uplifting, even now with me, and with Weiss." Yang said to him, giving him a hug, which Jaune returned, crying now that Yang thanked, and believed so much in him. He was saying small thank you, over and over, but they knew that, they had a job to do, and readied themselves for the fight at hand.

"Lets end this, for Pyrrha, and all of those she had killed and hurt." Jaune said with determination, and conviction. Yang looked over gave a serious look, and smirk a little, and nodded. "Yeah." Said Yang.

The elevator opened, and seen that Raven was frozen, and Cinder, draining Vernal of her life. But Jaune jumped off running towards Cinder. Cinder seen this and made a blade and tried to cut Jaunes head off. But Jaune ducked, and this time he stabbed Cinder in her stomach. She and Yang looked at Jaune surprised. Cinder was so sure of her own victory, she didn't bother to be more aware, she could have killed him easily, but even if she saw him coming, she was still stabbed!

He looked a Cinder with cold eyes, putting the sword deeper in her.

"Do you feel that, that's Pyrrha, and everyone you killed you bitch." Jaune said to her with a cold tone, and then pulled out his blade, with blood falling on the ground, Cinder was stabbed in her stomach, she will not last long.

He turned his head towards Yang and smiled and said. "It's over." Yang was still shocked, maybe he didn't need her, she was running towards him. The Ice shattered with Raven's eyes glowing, with the looks of silver fire in her eyes.

"So you're the spring Maiden." Yang said to her. Jaune turned his back to Cinder's body, but she was rising slowly. Yang turned towards him, then her eyes widened. "Jaune look out!" Yang yelled out to him, but felt, a spear poke him in the back and to the front. Cinder hit with a spear, Cinder had blood coming out of her mouth but was smirking cruelly, she felt that she could live through this, the maiden power was helping her out, he will die, and then kill the rest. But she felt something sharp stab into her throat. Jaune turned around after he was stabbed, and stabbed into her throat.

"I did not missed this time." Jaune said to her. As Cinder was dying right there. Jaune smirked at her, I just wished Ruby, would have destroyed you with that weird dragon at Beacon. At That Cinder's eye widened, then the lights faded from her, she was dead.

Jaune fell to the ground with Yang calling his name, the light was fading from him too. But Jaune just smiled to her. He put a hand on her cheek, and wiped tears away from her cheek with his thumb.

"It's going to ok….Yang." Jaune said, his breathing getting heavy. "Please do me….this favor…all of you stay strong….fight the good…..fight…..and end this war…..no matter what…..and stay who you are…..all of you." Jaune said taking deep breaths, he felt it harder to breath, and stay awake. Yang just nodded, and leaned into his hand. "Ok we will." Yang said crying.

"Take Crocea…..Mors….to Argus…..and look for…Saphron Cotta-Arc….my big sister…..tell her…and tell my family…..I love them…..and that I did…..what's right." Jaune said, with his eyes getting heavy. "We will Jaune, we will." Yang said to him, now gripping his other hand. She then leaned down, to give him one last kiss, to give him some kind of love before he passed on. Jaune looked at her and smiled.

"Thank…you…Yang…tell…..every…one….I….love…..them." Jaune said his last words, with a smile on his face, his eyes closed and his body went limp, Yang just cried harder.

Raven walked over to close Vernal's eyes, and open the vault. Yang demanded the lamp, saying that she will do better, but Raven gave her speech how Salem can't be beaten. But Yang solidified her reasons of wanting to fight, for her, her sister, and Jaune. And told Raven that she was scared of Salem, that she was a true coward. That she may be powerful, but she is truly weak. Raven tried to convince Yang to leave with her, but Yang gave her an ultimatum, either stay and fight with them, or leave, and never show herself to her again, while mentioning that she had her own mother, it was Summer Rose.

That left a silence, and after a moment of silence, all Yang could hear was the flapping of wings, and the cawing of a raven flying away. Yang silently walked over and grabbed the lamp. She looked at the still body of Cinder looking blankly. To make sure she is dead, Yang gave two shots to her chest destroying her heart, and the shots made her body catch fire, burning her body. She then walked to Jaune's smiling corpse, she then collapsed next to him and started sobbing.

Yang came up the elevator, she seen Mercury being arrested, and Emerald in aura suppressing cuffs, to make sure she can not use her semblance. She was spewing saying that Cinder will be back, and kill them all, she then looked over, seen only Yang standing, but she was bridal carrying Jaune's corpse, and the lamp in hand. Emerald, looked in disbelief and despair, it was too much, and she fainted.

Yang told them that Cinder is dead, Jaune killed her, but she killed him in return. She put him down in the middle of the floor, with all of her friends gather around her, all with different looks for the most part.

Ruby and Nora, had tears streaming down their faces. Ren was in shock. Blake looked in similar shock as Ren. Weiss held her hands over her mouth, with some tears coming down. Qrow, and Oscar/ Ozpin looked down in sadness.

Ruby dropped Cresent Rose, and collapsed next to his body hugging his body, while sobbing. Fiery Silver eyes started to gather in her eyes, while silver fire started to spread around her, the maiden powers arrived to her.

"JAUNNNEE!" Ruby yelled at the top of her lungs, again her eyes activating again, and a storm of silver flames surrounded her causing everyone moving away from her, and causing a blinding light.

Jaune knew it was up for him. He had avenged Pyrrha's and all the lives that were taken and ruined by Cinder Fall. He just hopes and prays that his friends and family will continue to be strong without him. Now that he is no longer on Remnant anymore, he hopes to see Pyrrha again, tell her how he did, after she died. And at the same time, apologize to her, for hating himself so much, and to make himself so depressed, and torturing himself.

'Please everyone, move forward for me, do what I could not.' Jaune said to him self in his mind. Now he feels himself laying in a grassy field.

Wait a minute, a grassy field, Jaune opened his eyes looking around a little. He can see a grassy field, and some people walking down a road with hoarse carriages.

"Is this the afterlife, I thought things would look more different?" Jaune asked himself. He looked behind him, he could see a giant tower, almost two miles away. "Where am I?" Jaune asked himself again. He looked down and Seen Crocea Mors, it was still with him, so is this Remnant or somewhere else? Jaune collected his weapon, and himself of course, and started his walk over towards that giant tower If he wants answers, he will have to go to that tower and giant city in the distance.

Author's note: The first chapter is done, and I know that I ended it with him only being in the world for a few minutes, but I wanted to change up the reason how he was brought there, and killing Cinder was just the icing on the cake for me. With Cinder dead, and her 'team mates' taken care of, I would believe that things would change with Salem, a big defeat for her has happened.

Jaune knew this was it. He did it, he avenged Pyrrha and all of those that Cinder and his
