this is my first fic so lease dont be too harsh
I woke up looking at a brick ceiling, feeling tired, I slowly got to my feet and saw 4 other guys Standing up, a blond guy with a Ponytail and holding a spear, a black-haired guy with nothing too special about him other than the shield on his arm, a kinda blond Kid with green eyes and a bow in his hands, a dark and straight-haired guy with sharp eyes holding a sword, each of these weapons have gems in them oh wow" I turn the Voice and see" A lot of robed men talking to each other
"What is this?" I turned back to the 4 guys beside me and I See the Shiled guy looking at the Floor so I follow his line of sight and see a bunch of writing in a language I don't understan.
raise my hand to scratch my head but have a pair of gauntlets on my hands
"what are these" I try to take them off but they won't budge.
just as I started to think about that someone asked the question we 5 been thinking, "Where are we? "
"OH heros! Please save our world!" one of the robbed men
"What?!" The 5 of us shouted in unison
" What does that suppose to mean?" one of us asked
"There are many complications in this situation, but to offer a simple answer to your question, we have just completed an ancient ceremony and summoned You Fo-Five heroes" the guy that looks like the leader said
"Summoned?" the Shiled guy asked himself
"Our world teeter on the brink of destruction, heroes please lend us your strength" said the robed man bowing very deeply to us.
"well It wouldn't hurt to" The Shield guy started to say something but the other 3 decided to cut him off.
"I don't think so"-" Yeah, me neither!" – "We can go back to our world, right? We will talk about your Problems after that."
'damn these guys are a piece of work' Sam Said in our Shared mind space.
I see them looking at me and the shield guy smiling.
The sword guy Points his sword at the robed men "Don't you feel guilt for calling people into your world without permission?" "Besides" the bow guy started to say"Even if we save your world and bring peace back to you, you'll just send us back home, right? That just-"
I walk to the sword and the bow users and and make them lower their weapons and cut the bow guy off from being foolish
"Now you two calm down, I'd think People like them have thought about all of this before summoning us, I'm sure they had already started working on a way to support us, right?"
I ask the robed man
"Yes, we would very much like you to speak with the King, He will discuss future compensation with you on the throne room"
The leader of the robed men leaned against a heavy-looking door until it opened, then he Pointed in the direction we were to go
"Fine" the bow Kid said
"Whatever" the sword guy Said
"Umm alright?" the spear guy said as he followed the robed guy
I look at the Shiled guy and tilt my head in that direction and started to Falow the robed Man, the Shieldd Kid behind me.
We walked out of the darkened room and down a hallway made of Stone, I looked out of the window and what I saw took my breath away, me and the Shield guy stopped to take in the view of a bright blue sky overlooking a big town spreadding out from the building we were in.
"Wow, this place is so beautiful!" I said, "I agree" the shield guy said, nodding.

After a moment, we rejoined the other guys as we entered the throne room with an old man sitting on the throne looking at the other 4.
"So these young ones are the holy heroes" He said then he looked at me his eyes slightly widening "And a Vassal Hero too"
We line up in front of him as I stood beside the shield guy
"My name is Aultcray Melromarc XXXII, and I rule these lands. Heroes, show me your faces!"
"Now then, I shall begin with an explanation. This country, no, this whole world is on the brink of destruction."
The summary of that is There was a prophecy about the end of the world.
Many waves would appear, and they would wash over the world, again and again, until nothing remained.
Unless the waves were repelled and their accompanying calamities avoided, the world was doomed.
The prophecy was from long ago, though the time it spoke of was now, this very moment.
There was also a large and ancient hourglass that would signal the times.
The hourglass predicted the arrival of the waves, and its sands began to fall one month ago.
According to legend, the waves would come in one-month intervals.
In the beginning, the citizens of the land mocked the legends.
However, when the sands in the hourglass began to fall, a great calamity visited the land.
A fissure appeared in the country, Melromarc, a fissure to another dimension.
Terrifying and horrible creatures crawled out from it in great numbers.
At the time, the country's knights and adventurers were able to repel the advance of the creatures, but the next wave was prophesied to be even more terrible.
At this rate, the country was doomed, having no way to ward off the impending disaster.
Considering the situation nearly hopeless, the kingdom decided to summon heroes from another world.
That about sums it up.
"All right," said one of my companions.
"I think I understand where you're coming from.
But does that mean you are commanding us to help you?"
"Seems all fine and good… for you"
"I agree. All this sounds pretty self-centered to me. If your world is on the road to destruction, just let it burn. I don't see what it has to do with us."
"As they have said, we don't have a responsibility to help you. If we dedicate our time and lives to bringing peace to your kingdom, do we get anything besides a 'thanks and see you later'? I mean, I guess what I want to know is if there is a way for us to get home. Could you tell me anything about that?"
I glare at them for acting foolishly
'Damn Dream you really have your work cut out for you huh' Sam asked
'at least I know I do have a lot of work to do now' I respond.
I turn to the king
"Excuse them your highness I don't think they have any experience with talking to Royalty"
Dream bowed down "I think what they are trying to ask is if there is a way back home and if not, financial support so we could do our best"
"Raise" the king said as he shot his vassal a sidelong glance.
"Of course, we are planning on compensating you all for your efforts."
Dream returns to a standing position
The holy heroes pumped their fists in celebration.
"Naturally," continued the king.
"I've made arrangements to support you financially, and also to provide you with whatever you may require, in thanks for your efforts on our behalf."
"Oh yeah? Cool. Well, as long as you promise us that, I don't think we'll have a problem."
"Don't think you've bought us off. As long as we aren't enemies, I'll help you out though."
"Agreed."
"Me too."
I nod to the king then sighed seeing how the other 4 are acting
"Very well then, Heroes. Tell us your names."
"My name is Ren Amaki. I am 16 years old, and a high school student."
The Sword Hero, Ren Amaki. He was an attractive young guy.
His face was handsome, and he was relatively short, maybe 160 centimeters.
If he cross-dressed, you'd mistake him for a girl in an instant.
His face was so composed.
His hair was black and cut short.
His eyes were sharp, and his skin was white.
Overall he gave off a cool impression.
Like a quick, slender swordsman.
"All right, I'll go next. My name is Motoyasu Kitamura. I'm 21, and a college student."
The Spear Hero, Motoyasu Kitamura.
He came off as light-hearted and kind, something like an older brother.
His face was at least as well kept as Ren's, the type of guy who was sure to have a girlfriend or two.
He was probably around 170 centimeters.
His hair was pulled back into a ponytail.
Overall he seemed like a caring, older brother.
"Ok, my turn. I'm Itsuki Kawasumi. I'm 17, and still in high school."
The Bow Hero, Itsuki Kawasumi.
He looked like the calm, piano-playing sort of character.
He seemed vain, and yet, at the same time, he held some unrevealed strength.
There was something indefinite about him.
Something vague.
He was the shortest among us, probably somewhere around 155 centimeters.
His hairstyle was slightly wavy as if it had been permed.
He was like a soft-spoken younger brother.
"My name is Naofumi Iwatani. I'm 20 years old, and a college student."
The shield hero, Naofumi Iwatani.
He seems like a guy who is a bit naive and friendly he looks like your typical Japanese guy nothing looks special about him
"I am Dream Smith, I am 19 years old, and an adventurer"
the Vassal Gauntlet hero, Dream Smith, has purple eyes and red hair on the left side, And on the right, he has blue hair he is 180 cm.
"Now then. Ren, Motoyasu Itsuki,and Dream,correct?"
I raised an eyebrow at him because he ignored Naofumi
"Your Grace, you've forgotten me."
Naofumi said to the king
"Ah yes, pardon me, Mr. Naofumi."
'Dream I sense a lot of dark emotions from the king detracted forward The shield boy'
Sam said to me
'Can you and Light keep an eye out for what people feel around us?' I asked them
'Sure'
Light answered me
"Now then, Heroes. Please confirm your status, and give yourselves an objective evaluation."
The king asked us to do something.
I was about to ask what he meant by that but Itsuki asked first
"Excuse me, but how are we supposed to evaluate ourselves?" asked Itsuki.
Ren sighed loudly like he couldn't be bothered to explain it to us. "You mean to say that you all haven't figured it out yet? Didn't you realize it the moment you arrived here?"
"I mean," he went on, "Haven't you noticed any weird icons hanging out in your peripheral vision?"
"Oh? That's new, to say the least" I constructed my vision on the icon and a States screen appeared in front of me Dream Smith

"I really have my work cut out for me, huh?"
"Level 1… That makes me nervous. "
"Good point, at this rate, who knows if we'll even be able to fight at all."

"Do these things not exist in your world, oh Heroes? You are experiencing 'Status Magic.' Everyone in this world can see and use it."
The king said
"Really?"
Naofumi asked
"And what are we supposed to do? These numbers seem awfully low."
"Yes, well. You will need to go on a journey to further polish your abilities, and to strengthen the Legendary Weapons you possess." The king explained
"Strengthen them? You mean these things aren't strong right from the get-go?"
"That is correct. The summoned Heroes must raise their Legendary Weapons by themselves. That is how they will grow strong."
Motoyasu was spinning his spear and thinking. "Why don't we just use different weapons while these are bulking up? Seems smart to me."
Ren cut in to clarify, "We can work all that out later on. Right now, we should focus on improving ourselves, just like the king has asked us to do."
I nod agreeing with what Ren said
"Are we going to form a party? The 5 of us?"
Motoyasu asked
"Wait just a moment, Heroes."
"Hm?"
Just as we were preparing to set out on an adventure, the king spoke again. "The four of you should set out separately, to recruit your own companions."
"Why is that?"
"According to the legends," he began, "The Legendary Weapons you possess will interfere with one another should you form a party. Both your weapons and yourselves can only grow when you are apart from one another." He answered
"I don't really understand all that, but if we stay together, we can't level up, right?"
"Yes, the only one who can form a party with one of the other heroes is Sir Dream"
"May I know why I am a special case?" I asked
"It's because you are a Vassal Weapon user, unlike the 4 holy weapons the Vassales can team up with one of the holy heroes" He answered
Huh? Everyone found instructions near their weapons. We all began to read at the same time.
Attention: the Legendary Weapons and their owners will experience adverse effects if they fight together.
Caution: Heroes and weapons should be used individually.
Attention: Vassal weapon users can join the hero's parties without affecting there growth.
"Hey Dream wou-" Motoyasu start to say but I cut him off "before you say anything man I'll have a day with etch of you guys then I'll decide who is my choice after that, we will decide who first later"
"Oh alright" Motoyasu answered
The other 3 gave a similar answer
"I will attempt to secure travel companions for you all. Regardless, evening draws near. Heroes, you should rest for the night and prepare for departure on the tomorrow. In the Meantime, I will find companions for you from the village below."
"Thank you very much."
"Thanks."
We all thanked the king and retired to our room for the night.
There were ornate beds prepared for us in the provided chamber. Everyone was sitting On them, closely inspecting their weapons, and letting their vision drift absent Mindedly to check on their status screens.
I've been reading my help menu training to understand every thing that is written there.
Ok, so let's see here. The Legendary Weapons required no maintenance at all. They Were powerful and sturdy enough on their own. The material the weapons were Constructed of reacts to the level of the hero who wields them, and any slain monsters Were recorded in something called a weapon book.
The weapon book was something that apparently kept a list of all the forms the
Legendary Weapons were capable of transforming into.
Fwip!
The border of the window quickly expanded to fill my field of vision, and it was filled With rows of weapon icons.
It appeared as though none of them were currently Available for upgrades.
Huh, would you believe it? It looked like certain weapons could Be set and improved upon, growing more powerful with time.
It said that in order to learn skills, the powers hidden in our weapons would have to Be set loose.
"Hey, this is just like a game, don't you think?" naofumi asked.
It looked like the other guys were reading over the help menus too. One of them Responded to my question.
"Like a game? I think it actually might be a game. I know games that are just like this," Said Motoyasu, bristling with an air of conceit.
"Huh?" said Naofumi
"Yeah, it's a pretty famous online game. Haven't you heard of it?" Motoyasu asked
"Uh, no? And I'm a pretty hardcore Otaku." Naofumi answered
"You've never heard of it, Naofumi? It's called Emerald Online." Motoyasu said
"Never heard of it. What is it?" Naofumi asked
"Naofumi, have you even played an online game before? It's famous!" motoyasu asked again
"Nah, I've only played stuff like Odin Online, or Fantasy Moon Online. Those are pretty Famous too." Naofumi answered
"I've never heard of them before. Must be minor titles or something." Motoyasu said
"I don't know what any of you are referring to. This is nothing like an online game. It's More like a console game." Itsuki said
"Motoyasu, Itsuki, you're both wrong on this one. If anything, it's a VRMMO." Ren said
"No way. Even if we suppose, for the moment, that we are in an online game, it still Must be the sort that you control by a mouse, or with a controller." Motoyasu said
Ren looked confused by Motoyasu's theory, and he jumped into the conversation.
"A Mouse? A controller? What kind of antique games are you guys talking about? These Days, aren't all online games VRMMO?"
"VRMMO? I guess you mean a Virtual Reality MMO? Cut the sci-fi crap. You know the Tech isn't ready for stuff like that yet." Motoyasu answered
"okay okay what are you guys talking about what is a video game?" When I asked this question all of them went silent.
"wait you don't know?!" All of them said at the same time
"I don't know what is that can you just explain the concept so I can understand?" They all look at me shocked but Motoyasu snaps out of it then started to explain.
"A-Alright, You can say it's a fictional world brought into reality by art and technology and you can interact with these worlds through a device."
I take a moment to take that all in then I say "so you are telling me that this video games are in a way similar to this place so you decided to to think this world was one?"
"Very much" He answered
"Umm if this place was really a game I would be dead and not here alive with my heart beating inside of me" I said with out thinking
I say that as 3 of them flinch but Naofumi asked, "Wait what do you mean?!"
I answer with a question of my own "how about you guys tell me how did you get here and I'll tell you how I got here, is that fair?"
They nod agreeing to the idea
Ren spoke up as if he was the coolest person in the room, and he wanted everyone to Know it.
"I was on my way home from school when I hit a spot of bad luck and got caught up in A murder case. It was the talk of the town at the time."
He stopped for a moment before returning to telling us what happened
"I was with a good friend. I remember saving him, and I remember the criminal getting Arrested…"
…Ren was rubbing his side, softly, as he spoke.
"Anyway, so then, before I knew it, I woke up here."
"Ok, I guess I'm next," said Motoyasu, lightly pointing at himself "I have… Well, to put it simply… I have quite a few girlfriends."
"I'm sure you do." Naofumi said
"And well…" motoyasu was about to keep going but Ren cut him off
"You had too many at once, and they stabbed you or something?" Ren said, laughing to Himself.
Motoyasu snapped his eyes open in surprise then nodded.
"Yeah well… Women are terrifying." Motoyasu said
Itsuki placed his hand over his heart and began to speak.
"Now it's my turn. I was on my way home from prep school. I went to cross the road, But a dump truck came screaming around the corner at full speed. And then…"
Again, we all fell to silence.
"I guess. Well… Sorry everyone. I was at the library, flipping through a book I'd never Seen before. Before I knew it, I woke up here." Naofumi said
Again, silence.
They were staring at Naofumi, cold as ice.
"So it's my turn huh? Well here we go" I started to say
"I used to be an adventuret and a cave explorer, I'm my world magic type is decided since you are born, by the eye color you would know what kind of magic you can use, my eyes used to be light blue I was the first light blue eyed person in the world, we didn't know what kind of magic do I use, one day I went to explore and clear a cave for my friend when I was in there I found out that the place was one of the legendary beasts nest and I was forced to fight it, it was a scorpion big and black with red glowing eyes that means that is was a dark magic user, so we fought and I ended up poised and I was about to die but I did land a critical hit on the beast leaving it blead out, suddenly my magic awaked it was conscious it called its self Light is tried to save me by fusing me with the legendary beast but it was too late both of us were too week then when I died I was in a void for a long time with two spirits one of them is light and the other was the scorpion we became friends over time suddenly I found myself opening my eyes again in this world" I finished
The 4 of them looked at me like I've lost my mind "why are you guys looking at me like that? " I asked
"Oh my god he's serious!" Motoyasu said shocked
"Your world is completely different than ours, then if you are from a different world then ours, maybe we might be from different worlds then etch other" Ren said
I shrug not know what to respond with
Then the other 4 decided to try to check if they are from the same world or not asking stuff like
"name the current Prime minister"
They all gave different answers and they kept on doing that for a while until the fell silent
"So Dream who's party are you going to join?" Ren asked
"I will be with etch of you for a day before deciding you guys can decide on the order we go" I answered him
Then after that they started to play a game that is called rock paper scissors and they ended up with this order
Sword hero
Bow hero
Spear hero
Shield hero
After that I excuse myself as I leave to get some fresh air leaving them to talk
I walk around and found a maid around the hallway "Excuse me miss may I know if there's a place where I can get some fresh air?"
She nods then she asked me to follow her with a wired accent
After a while I found myself in a garden with a lot of flowers everywhere "This place is beautiful" I said
I sat down on the grass and the maid joined me then said "is everything alright sir hero?" the maid asked
"yeah I just needed some fresh air, it's been a while since I've been around people" I look at her and feel like she wants to tell me something "so what do you want to talk about?"
She brought out a fan and covered her mouth "I dare say sir hero you should keep your gard up around the church of the 3 heroes they might look good but I think you understand what religion can do" She said
I got a grumpy look when she brought up the topic or religion because If religion is involved Fanatics are involved too, "looks like we got a lot to deal with, huh?" I turn to where the maid was sitting and found out she was missing.
I get back to our room but when I was in front of the door I saw a maid coming towards the room "sir hero can you please let the other heroes know it's time for dinner?"
I nod and enter the room I seance a bit of sadness from Naofumi and guilt from Motoyasu
I let them know it's time for dinner and when they're ready I let the maid know as she show us the way to the knights dining room
"Everyone, please eat whatever you like." The maid said
"What? I guess we are eating with the castle knights?" Ren mumbled to himself.
"You misunderstand. This food has been prepared for you. The knights will not be Permitted to enter until you have had your fill," said the attendant the maid said
I see the cooks standing around and I thank them kindly then I take a seat.
After the other heroes do the same they join me at the table.
We finished eating, and found ourselves growing sleepy on the way back to our rooms.
"Think they have a bath?" motoyasu asked
"Well, it looks like the Middle Ages around here. They might have a bathtub though." Ren said
"If you don't request it, I doubt they will provide one." Itsuki said
"I guess I can let it go for one day." Motoyasu said
"Yeah, I'm getting tired, and the adventure starts tomorrow. Better get a good night's Sleep." Naofumi said
So we went to our rooms to rest for a new adventures tomorrow
