75. Chapter 74

Chapter 74: DogDay Vs Bobby BearHug II: Making Things Right

Bobby meanwhile was in an argument with DogDay.

"Come on, DogDay, this isn't like you!" Bobby said,

"What do you mean this isn't like me?!" DogDay said, annoyed, "And why are you following me all of a sudden?! I said what I said back there!"

"DogDay, just tell us why, please! For me!"

"Why do I need to tell you?! I'm not even in a romantic relationship with you!"

"But I'm your best friend! CatNap's your best friend! Everyone you know in this friend group are you best friends! I've always had you guys' backs for years! And when something is wrong, I just know it!"

"There is NOTHING wrong here, ok?! Now leave me alone!"

As DogDay turned away and started to walk away, Bobby clenched her fists.

"JUST TELL ME, YOU COWARD!" She shouted with tears in her eyes,

DogDay stopped walking as he heard what Bobby had said. He turned to a sobbing Bobby with a serious look.

"...You think I'm a coward?" He asked her, "...Why don't you prove it to me…"

DogDay revealed his Duel Disk.

"...in a duel." He replied,

Bobby sniffed as she grew serious.

"Fine!" She said as she revealed her Duel Disk, "I've beaten you in a duel once, and I'll do it again, but this time for a different reason than before!"

Later, DogDay and Bobby got into their places after activating their Duel Disks for their 2nd serious duel against each other to start. The two critters then shouted, "Duel!" to start this duel.

Turn 1

DogDay: 4000

Bobby BearHug: 4000

Bobby went first as she played a monster without hesitation as her emotions got the best of her in this duel. It wasn't the same duel she and DogDay had a year ago during the tournament.

"I'm gonna keep it simple by Normal Summoning Scareclaw Reichheart in Attack Position!" She said,

Scareclaw Reichheart was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.

"Upon being Normal or Special Summoned, I get to add a Scareclaw Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand." Bobby said as she added the Normal Trap, Scareclaw Alternative, "Which I will add and save for later!"

DogDay was focused. He still feels annoyed. Bobby then revealed another monster in her hand.

"And when I control a monster with 1500 ATK Points and 2100 DEF Points, I can Special Summon the Tuner monster Mannadium Meek from my hand!" Bobby said,

Mannadium Meek was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.

"But I'm not done yet!" Bobby said as she revealed another monster in her hand, "I can destroy Mannadium Meek to Special Summon Mannadium Riumheart onto the field!"

Mannadium Meek was destroyed as Mannadium Riumheart was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1500 ATK Points.

"When Meek is destroyed, I can Special Summon another Mannadium Meek from my Deck!" Bobby said as she does, but this time the 2nd Mannadium Meek was in Defense Position with 1800 DEF Points, "And when Riumheart is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add a different Mannadium card from my Deck to my Hand!"

Bobby then adds the Trap Card, Mannadium Breakheart from her Deck to her Hand.

"And now create a Link Circuit that's gonna expose the fear you have!" Bobby shouted,

"Hmph, fear…" DogDay said, annoyed,

A Link Circuit appeared.

"The summoning requirements for this Link Summon are 3 Effect Monsters, which is why I'm using Mannadium Meek, Mannadium Riumheart and Scareclaw Reichheart as Link Materials!" Bobby shouted as her 3 monsters currently on the field were sent to glow up the Bottom Left, Bottom and Bottom Right Link Arrows as Link Materials, "Link the circuit!"

The Link Circuit started to form a familiar monster.

"Unleash inner fear upon those that think they're courageous enough to step foot onto the battlefield!" Bobby chanted, "Link Summon!"

A three-headed monster with Reichheart fusing on top emerges from the Link Circuit.

"Bring out the fear, Link-3, Scareclaw Tri-Heart!" Bobby shouted,

Scareclaw Tri-Heart was Link Summoned onto the Extra Monster with 3000 ATK Points. Bobby then sets two cards in her Spell and Trap Zone without hesitation, leaving her with 2 cards left in her hand.

"I then set two cards and end my turn." She said, "Good luck."

"I won't be needing luck for our rematch." DogDay said as he draws to start Turn 2,

DogDay then played the card he drew.

"I'll start by activating the Spell Card, Trade-In!" He said as Trade-In was activated, "By discarding a Level 8 monster, I get to draw 2 cards!"

DogDay then discards The Bystial Lubellion for him to draw 2 more cards from his Deck. He sighed.

"Alright, Bobby, let's get this dumb duel out of the way." He said to himself,

DogDay then revealed a monster in his hand.

"I activate Bystial Magnamhut's effect from my hand!" He said, "By banishing a LIGHT or DARK monster from either Graveyards, I can Special Summon him from my hand! So I'm banishing your Mannadium Riumheart!"

"Nice call…" Bobby said as she sighed, "Unfortunate for me…

Mannadium Riumheart was banished for Bystial Magnamhut to be Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points, but was changed to Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points under Scareclaw Tri-Heart's effect.

"Now when Bystial Magnamhut is Special Summoned, I can add a Dragon monster from my Deck to my Hand at the end of this turn!" He said,

"Since you've activated a monster's effect on the field, I'll activate Tearlaments Havnis from my hand!" Bobby said as she revealed Tearlaments Havnis, "It's sad for me to bring you deja vu, but it's for the greater good!"

"Teh, sad, huh?"

"When you activate a monster effect on the field, I can Special Summon Tearlaments Havnis from my hand and send the top 3 cards of my Deck to the Graveyard!"

Bobby then Special Summoned Tearlaments Havnis onto the field in Defense Position with 1000 DEF Points and sends the top 3 cards from her Deck to her Graveyard, being Tearlaments Sulliek, Kashtira Ogre and Visas Samsara.

"And then I activate Tearlaments Sulliek from my Graveyard!" Bobby said, "When it's sent there by a card effect, I can add a Tearlaments monster from my Deck to my Hand!"

Bobby then adds and revealed Tearlaments Scheiren from her Deck to her Hand under the effect of Tearlaments Sulliek.

"Are you done yet, Bobby?" DogDay asked her, more annoyed than ever, "Can I continue with my damn turn?"

"I see you're getting angry…" Bobby said,

"Angry… Never heard of it."

Bobby looked down in sorrow.

"Just why, DogDay?" Bobby wondered, "Why are you doing this?"

"Anyways, I will tribute Bystial Magnamhut from my field to Special Summon this monster from my Graveyard!" DogDay said as he started to chant while Bystial Magnamhut was tributed, "Reborn yourself under the branded light to play a part in unleashing a melody of terror! Appear, The Bystial Lubellion!"

The Bystial Lubellion was Special Summoned onto the field from DogDay's Graveyard in Defense Position with 3000 DEF Points.

"Now for Lubellion's effect!" DogDay said, "I place a Branded Continuous Spell or Continuous Trap from my Deck to my field, face-up."

DogDay then revealed the Continuous Trap, Branded Beast and placed it in his Spell/Trap Zone.

"Not done yet though." DogDay said as he revealed Bystial Saronir, "Saronir will be Special Summoned as well I'm banishing my Bystial Magnamhut!"

Bystial Magnamhut was banished for Bystial Saronir to be Special Summoned onto the field in Defense Position with 2000 DEF Points.

"And this is where Bystial Beast comes into play." DogDay said, "When I control a Bystial monster, I can tribute a Dragon monster to destroy a card you control!"

Bystial Saronir was tributed under Bystial Beast's effect.

"With that, I'm destroying your Scareclaw Tri-Heart!" DogDay said,

Bystial Beast then destroyed Scareclaw Tri-Heart.

"Not bad…" Bobby said, "I can't believe you're improving in this duel. I don't think I should be happy considering the state of our friendship."

"Being happy is not what I need right now." DogDay said, "Now, I activate Bystial Saronir's effect from my Graveyard! Which lets me send a Bystial monster or a Branded Spell/Trap from my Deck to my Graveyard!"

DogDay then revealed the Continuous Spell, Branded Regained from his Deck and sent it to his Graveyard. DogDay then sets a card in his Spell and Trap Zone. DogDay has 3 cards in his hand.

"I'll set a card and end my turn." DogDay said, "And then Branded Beast will activate, which lets me place a Branded Continuous Spell or Trap from my Graveyard to my field, face-up!"

DogDay then placed Branded Regained onto his field face-up from his Graveyard.

"And now for Bystial Magnamhut's effect since it's still the End Phase." He said as he adds Bystial Baldrake from his Deck to his hand,

DogDay then sighed as he now has 4 cards in his hand.

"Go ahead." He said, annoyed, "I expect nothing less from this rematch."

Bobby gulped as she drew to start Turn 3.

"I don't trust DogDay…" She said to herself, "He is off ever since he tried to frame Baba… I don't know, I don't know what to do…"

Bobby then sighed heavily.

"No, I must not get a hold of myself!" She said to herself, "I can't let my emotions get in my way! It's been a year, and I can't let the emotions run while in our friend group! I'm gonna do this! I'm gonna win this duel against DogDay again!"

Bobby then revealed the card she drew.

"I activate my Spell Card, Pot Of Greed, which lets me draw 2 cards!" She said as she did so, "Perfect!"

"I don't like this…" DogDay said,

Bobby then played a Continuous Spell.

"I activate my Continuous Spell, Kashtira Birth!" She said, "This can make me Normal Summon a Level 7 monster without tributing!"

"Uh-oh." DogDay said,

Bobby then revealed a monster in her hand.

"So I'll Normal Summon Tearlaments Kashtira in Attack Position!" Bobby said,

Tearlaments Kashtira was Normal Summoned in Attack Position with 2300 ATK Points under Kashtira Birth's effect.

"And when Tearlaments Kashtira is Normal or Special Summoned, I can send the top 3 cards of either Deck to the Graveyard!" Bobby said, "Do you mind if I send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard?"

"I don't care." DogDay said as he does so without hesitation, sending Bystial Magnamhut, Fire Ant Ascator and My Body As A Shield from his Deck to his Graveyard under the effect of Tearlaments Kashtira.

"Alright, now I activate Kashtira Birth's 2nd effect!" Bobby said, "Which lets me Special Summon a Kashtira monster from my Graveyard!"

Kashtira Ogre was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points under the 2nd effect of Kashtira Birth.

"So here's Kashtira Ogre!" She said as she revealed Tearlaments Scheiren from her hand, "Next, Tearlaments Scheiren! I'll Special Summon her from my hand, and then send a monster from my hand and the top 3 cards of my Deck to my Graveyard!"

Tearlaments Scheiren was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1800 ATK Points. Bobby then sends Mannadium Fearless from her Hand to her Graveyard and then sends the top 3 cards of her Deck to her Graveyard, being Tearlaments Heartbeat, Scareclaw Decline and Peaceful Planet Calarium.

"All 3 of the cards sent to your Graveyard are Spells." DogDay said,

"And one of them has an effect upon being sent there from the Deck!" Bobby said, "And that's Tearlaments Heartbeat! Which lets me add a Tearlaments Trap from my Graveyard to my Hand!"

Bobby then revealed Tearlaments Sulliek from her Graveyard and adds it to her hand.

"Nice combo, but I activate Bystial Regained!" DogDay said, "When you Special Summon a monster, I can Special Summon a Bystial monster from my Graveyard, so Bystial Druiswurm will be back from my Graveyard!"

"Oh, I forgot!" Bobby said, "I used Tearlaments Kashtira to send the top 3 cards of your Deck to your Graveyard!"

"I only did it without hesitation!"

Bystial Druiswurm was Special Summoned onto the field from the Graveyard in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"But I'm not done yet!" DogDay said as he revealed Bystial Baldrake, "I activate Bystial Baldrake's effect from my hand, which lets me Special Summon this card by banishing a LIGHT or DARK monster from either Graveyards! So I'm banishing my Bystial Saronir to Special Summon Baldrake!"

Bystial Saronir was banished as Bystial Baldrake was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"Now for Branded Regained to be activated again!" DogDay said, "But for this time, when a monster is banished, I can return it to the bottom of either Deck and I draw a card!"

"Hold on, before you do so, I activate Kashtira Ogre's effect!" Bobby said,

"What is it?"

"When you activate a monster effect, I can look at the top 1-5 cards of your Deck and banish 1 of them, face-down. So show me the top 5 cards of your Deck!"

"Fine."

DogDay then revealed the top 5 cards of his Deck, being The Bystial Aluber, Supay, Duskwalker, Weeping Idol, Assault Synchron and Mirror Force.

"Hmmm… 4 Monsters and a Trap…" Bobby said, "With The Bystial Aluber, I think banishing it will prevent you from Synchro Summoning Bystial Dis Pater or any Level 10 Synchro Monsters you have."

"So that's your final choice?" DogDay asked her,

"Yes, I'm banishing your Bystial Aluber!"

The Bystial Aluber was banished face-down while the rest of the top 4 cards of DogDay's deck were returned to their normal placements. DogDay then returned Bystial Saronir to the bottom of his Deck and draws a card under the effect of Branded Regained, being Supay, Duskwalker.

"Alright, moving on!" Bobby said, "What I'm gonna do next is banishing Visas Samsara who is treated as Visas Starfrost in my Graveyard and Scareclaw Reichheart from there as well!"

"What do you need to banish them for anyways?" DogDay asked her,

"I think you forgot this card of mine exists! I used it to duel against CatNap in the tournament!"

Bobby took a deep breath as she started to chant.

"Darkness corrupts a being, and this monster will attack through spreading chaos and great rage!" She chanted, "From my Extra Deck, I Special Summon the Fusion Monster, Vicious Astraloud!"

Vicious Astraloud was Special Summoned onto the field from the Extra Deck in Attack Position with 3000 ATK Points.

"No way…" He said,

"Yeah, deja vu got you this time!" Bobby said, "I activate Vicious Astraloud's effect! When Special Summoned, I can destroy a monster on the field and for Vicious Astraloud to gain ATK Points equal to half of that destroyed monster's ATK Points! So I'll be destroying your Bystial Baldrake!"

"Not if I activate Bystial Baldrake's effect first!"

Bystial Druiswurm was Tributed.

"Now banish Vicious Astraloud!" DogDay shouted,

Vicious Astraloud was banished was Bystial Baldrake was destroyed.

"And now when Bystial Magnamhut is sent to the Graveyard, I can send a Special Summoned monster you control to the Graveyard." DogDay said, "So I'm sending your Kashtira Ogre to the Graveyard!"

Kashtira Ogre was sent to the Graveyard. Bobby sighed again.

"I can't believe you're playing through well this time…" She said as she set another card in her Spell/Trap Zone, leaving her with no cards left in her hand, "After all of that, it wasn't enough… Fine, I set another card and end my turn."

"About time!" DogDay said as he drew to start Turn 4, "I draw!"

DogDay then revealed Weeping Idol, which is what he drew.

"By banishing a Tuner monster, I can Special Summon Weeping Idol onto my field in Attack Position!" He said,

Fire Ant Ascator was banished as Weeping Idol was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 0 ATK Points.

"Now, I will treat Weeping Idol as a Tuner as I tune it with my Level 8 Bystial Lubellion!" DogDay said,

"Here it comes…" Bobby said to herself as flashbacks began to occur with Chaos Angel being played in the tournament, and Bobby using Bottomless Trap Hole to destroy it, "I took care of Chaos Angel once, and I can take care of it again!"

A Synchro Summon has started between Level 2 Weeping Idol treated as a tuner and Level 8 non-tuner The Bystial Lubellion.

"By combining the forces of light and darkness, he brings chaos down onto the battlefield and makes things right!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon!"

A familiar angel with light and dark powers appeared from the Synchro Summon.

"Bring justice and havoc to the table, Level 10, Chaos Angel!" DogDay shouted,

Chaos Angel was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 3500 ATK Points.

"Now when Chaos Angel is Special Summoned, I can banish a card on the field!" DogDay said, "So I'm banishing your Tearlaments Kashtira!"

"Not if I use Tearlaments Sulliek!" Bobby said as Tearlaments Sulliek was activated, "When I control a Tearlaments monster, I can negate the effect of 1 monster you control after that, I can send a monster I control to the Graveyard!"

DogDay froze for a second as he smirked.

"Huh?" Bobby wondered,

"I'm not letting you get away with ruining my Chaos Angel's moment again." He said,

"What are you talking about?"

"I activate my face-down card, the Counter Trap, Seven Tools Of The Bandit!"

Seven Tools Of The Bandit was activated, surprising Bobby.

"Oh no!" She said,

DogDay's Life Points went down to 3000 as he paid 1000 of them to activate Seven Tools Of The Bandit.

"By giving up 1000 of my Life Points, I can negate the activation of a Trap Card and destroy it!" He said,

Tearlaments Sulliek was negated and destroyed, leaving Bobby speechless yet under a heartbroken emotion.

"I…" She said, "I wanted to make things right…"

"Unfortunately it won't happen." DogDay said, "Because I'm the only one that's gonna make things right! And I'll start with this card!"

DogDay then revealed Supay, Duskwalker.

"By discarding 1 card…" He said as he discards Starliege Seyfert, "I can Special Summon Supay, Duskwalker alongside Supay from my Deck!"

Supay, Duskwalker was Special Summoned onto the field in Defense Position with 1900 DEF Points while Supay was Special Summoned onto the field from DogDay's Deck in Attack Position with 300 ATK Points.

"And now I will tune my Level 1 Supay with my Level 5 Supay, Duskwalker!" DogDay said, "And you're gonna get a taste of your medicine when we dueled 1 year ago at the tournament together!"

"DogDay…" Bobby said, shocked, "Wait, think this through! This isn't like you!"

"This is always me!"

Another Synchro Summon has started, only this time with Supay and Supay, Duskwalker to make a Level 6 Synchro Monster.

"Shine the moon up high to bring the bad days away!" DogDay chanted, "Synchro Summon! Shine the dark yet deadly night, Level 6, Moon Dragon Quilla!"

Moon Dragon Quilla was Synchro Summoned in Attack Position with 2500 ATK Points.

"Alright, time to battle!" DogDay said as the Battle Phase started, "Chaos Angel, attack Tearlaments Scheiren! Chaotic Judgment!"

Chaos Angel then destroyed Tearlaments Scheiren with its light and dark powers. Bobby was dealt 1700 points of damage, draining her Life Points to 2300.

"And now Moon Dragon Quilla will take down Tearlaments Havnis!" DogDay said, "Moonlight Beam!"

Moon Dragon Quilla then destroyed Tearlaments Havnis with a light directly from the moon. Bobby was dealt 900 more points of damage, draining her Life Points to 1400.

"I…" Bobby said,

"If you have something to say, I don't wanna hear it." DogDay said as he sets a card in his Spell and Trap Zone, leaving him with 0 cards left in his hand as well, "I set another card and end my turn."

Turn 5

DogDay: 3000

Bobby BearHug: 1400

Bobby draws to start Turn 5, but not in a serious way, but in a way as if she gave up. She looked at the card she drew.

"It's all about the top card of the Deck that matters to us now…" She said, "He just used Supay, Duskwalker to Special Summon Supay, which resulted in his Deck being shuffled… So now the top card is no longer gonna be Assault Synchron… I just hope I can win this one…"

Bobby then sets a card face-down in her Spell/Trap Zone.

"I set a card and end my turn." She said as she looked down at her set card, "The card I set was Drowning Mirror Force… I haven't used this card in a while, so I hope it helps me out…"

DogDay drew to start Turn 6 and looked at it.

"Well, this duel was truly in my favor." He said,

"I don't like that…" Bobby said,

"Time to battle, again."

"Alright, here it comes…"

The Battle Phase started again.

DogDay then revealed a Quick-Play Spell in his hand.

"Before I attack, I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Anti-Magic Arrows!" He said,

"OH NO!" Bobby shouted, devastated,

"Neither of us can activate Spells or Traps at the start of this Battle Phase and until the end of this turn!"

Bobby was left there, emotional and lost after DogDay managed to get lucky.

"Look at how the tables have turned…" DogDay said as he pointed at Bobby, "Chaos Angel! Attack Bobby directly and end this duel! Chaotic Judgment!"

Chaos Angel then shot out a blast of light and dark magic at Bobby. Bobby braced herself as she was dealt enough points of damage that drains her Life Points all the way down to 0. DogDay won the duel. After the duel, Bobby was on her knees as she wept.

"Why…" She said with sorrow, "Why can't things be normal for the rest of our lives?"

DogDay then looked at Bobby with an almost concerned look on his face, but didn't bother to comfort her.

"I'm sorry, but this is for the best of us." DogDay said,

"DogDay!" A voice shouted,

DogDay turned to see CraftyCorn and Poe.

"Oh, it's you." He said, annoyed as usual,

"Well, what did you do?" Poe wondered, "Did you make Bobby cry after a duel against her?"

"If you did, then why?" CraftyCorn said, concerned, "Why did you–"

"--I didn't make her cry." DogDay replied, "Her emotions got the best of her, as always…"

Bobby gasped.

"Hmph, I guess I was right." Poe said as they crossed their feathered arms, "You are a coward…"

"Don't even cross the line!" DogDay said, "You're with Baba! You're better off without her anyways!"

"Were you better off without me like it happened years ago?" CraftyCorn wondered,

DogDay looked at CraftyCorn, almost concerned, but DogDay shook it off.

"DogDay, wait!" Another voice shouted as CraftyCorn and Poe turned to see PickyPiggy, Bubba, KickinChicken and Hoppy and the voice came from Bubba,

DogDay then turned to walk away, ignoring anyone else. Before doing so, he got out his phone and noticed Poppy was texting him. Telling him what the hell is going on and asking if he's gone mad. He then blocked her number to make sure he didn't get any texts from her, without hesitation. He then texts someone, puts his phone away and walks away completely.

"What the hell just happened now?" KickinChicken wondered,

PickyPiggy then turned to a sobbing Bobby and went to comfort her.

"Did he break ya?" PickyPiggy asked her, "Here, let's go to your place. Your brother is probably worried about ya."

PickyPiggy and Bobby then went home while Picky had Bobby under her arms. CraftyCorn's phone went off as she got a text, from DogDay, surprising her.

"Oh no…" She said, concerned,

"What did DogDay text you?" Bubba wondered,

"He told me to meet him in Verygreen Park… 6PM…"

"He's lost it." Poe said,

"He sure did from the sound of it." KickinChicken said as he shook his head in disgust, "God, why does it feel like another me situation?"

"Don't worry about it." Bubba said as he turned to CraftyCorn who was still looking at her phone, "If anything happens, one of us will be there to be by your side then…"

"...I'm going in alone." CraftyCorn said,

Everyone was surprised.

"Wh-Are you sure?" Bubba asked her,

"Yes, I'm sure." CraftyCorn replied, "DogDay is a brother of mine that I never had… If Bobby couldn't fix him, then I might as well do it."

"Well… It does make sense. You and DogDay are best friends…"

"Or pretty much "spiritual siblings" from what she said." Poe said,

"Really?" Hoppy wondered,

"So they're like brother and sister, but not by blood?" KickinChicken said,

"Yes, correct." Poe replied,

"I gotta prepare." CraftyCorn said,

"...Ok, Crafty… Good luck, and be careful." Bubba said, "We don't wanna lose you again..."

"It won't be like that last time, trust me."

CraftyCorn walked away. KickinChicken scratched the back of his head.

"So… If she viewed DogDay as a brother, then does she also view CatNap as a brother too?" KickinChicken wondered, "The three are a trio of best friends since childhood…"

"Yes, she told me about it before our duel." Poe said,

"And did she beat you in that duel?" Bubba asked with a smirk,

Poe chuckled a bit.

"She did, yes." They replied,

"Well… Guess we got bigger fish to fry with how CraftyCorn and DogDay's encounter is gonna go at Verygreen Park…" Hoppy said, "But she said she wanted to do it alone…"

"True…" Bubba said as he straightened his glasses, "Hope you fix this, Crafty…"
