( Code Total Drama Reality Introduction Song Starts )
( No Pain No Game (From Btoom!) )
(The ending of this story)
The song starts, showing the end of Code Lyoko where the Supercomputer is shut down and the former Lyoko Warriors leave the factory seemingly for the last time.
(I will hold it close as I wonder so aimlessly)
A single computer is shown coming online, lines of 1s and 0s streaming across the screen before the screen is replaced by a glowing sphere with the Eye of XANA, at least eight variations appearing on it. From the sphere came lines of data emerging in eight different directions. The lines of data formed into various regions, all of them floating landscapes resembling a forest, a desert, an arctic, mountains, volcanoes, swamp and a jungle.
(Into this new world)
The new lands orbited the golden sphere as the camera zoomed in on the Eye of XANA staring at the screen.
(The game has only just begun)
The Eye then flashes red, and the sphere turns black.
(I can see it in your eyes)
A girl with pink hair sits on her bed, panting as she turns to see two pictures of her friends and her father. She smiles briefly but that smile turns to a look of horror as both her friends and her father are engulfed by a great darkness and the red Eye shines down on her. The Supercomputer, thought to be shut down, is reactivated and there is a flash of light.
(This is where tomorrow brings a new game)
Aelita is shown alone both in the real world and in Lyoko, hordes of monsters surrounding her.
Geoff is first shown in his human form before transitioning to his Lyoko form.
Next to him is Bridgette, holding her surfboard in the real world before changing into her Lyoko form, her board splitting into two swords.
(It's time to learn that pain is gain)
Gwen is shown sitting in front of tree, looking up and is instantly changed into her Lyoko Avatar, brandishing her scythe.
DJ is shown in the woods, tending to a little rabbit as he stands up and morphs into his Lyoko form, turning to face the camera with a stern glare.
LeShawna is last, ready to fight in both her human form and her Lyoko form.
(Ready fight!)
William and a dark reflection of himself as XANA's General are shown standing back-to-back, turning to face each other and swinging their swords.
The screen is split by the two swords, showing New Lyoko as the title appears:
CODE: TOTAL DRAMA REALITY
(I gotta crush and paint away the anguish)
Aelita is shown first, sitting at the computer before she is then shown as the DJ of a party. She morphs into her Lyoko form and conjures an energy field.
This was followed quickly by Geoff wildly waving his hat while riding something with Bridgette holding onto him by the back.
(Of my past for the sake of my future)
Gwen is shown next, drawing in her sketchbook and signifying with a sad face as Duncan, Courtney and Trent appear behind her, their backs facing in her direction.
(Until my life comes to an end)
DJ is shown running for his life from appears to be a giant bear.
(I am gonna fight to tear apart that destiny)
LeShawna is shown next, standing confidently with her team, ready to face whatever crazy challenge comes next.
(Aoh, break out and start a revolution)
The antagonists of Total Drama: Heather, Courtney, Justin, Anne Maria, Jo, Lightning, Scott and Alejandro in the Total Drama Machine are shown from left to right, grinning or glaring at the camera, holding up an imaginary case of the million- dollar prize money in their hands. Chris Mclean is shown next, arms crossed as the chair he is sitting in spins to meet the camera, zooming out to show it is the monitor room for the Total Drama show.
A dark shadow appears above them, scrawny in appearance and hair falling over the left eye as it glares darkly at the screen.
(Until you find the answer you're looking for)
The camera then shows Aelita with the new Lyoko Warriors, the TD Lyoko Warriors and William sitting around a campfire, all of them staring up into the starry night sky, a picture of her friends and father resting in Aelita's hands.
(I'll challenge all my limits)
Aelita in her Lyoko form with her wings sprouting from her back is shown, clutching Mr. Puck in her hands as she seemingly falls back, her friends and relatives in the background.
The camera moves down to show William kneeling down, clutching his sword in both hands. As this happens, the camera moves down, showing depictions of the TD Lyoko Warriors and other characters in the background.
The camera continues to move down to show Geoff pulling Bridgette into sharing a picture with LeShawna bringing her face up over Bridgette's shoulder, the three of them in their Lyoko forms. While this happens, Harold, Lindsay, Beth, Trent, Katie and Sadie are shown in the background.
Below them is Gwen with her arms and legs curled around her with her cape swirling behind her like wings while Heather and Courtney are shown in the background glaring at each other followed by Sierra clutching Cody who looks distressed, Eva crossing her arms along with B and Beth both waving, the latter looking very shy. Behind Gwen appeared Dawn in her own Lyoko form in a meditative pose while upside down while facing Gwen with her eyes closed, her light robe contrasting with Gwen's cape with dark clothing, almost forming a yin-yang symbol.
Behind Dawn appears Scott, snickering evilly.
(Knowing this could be my only chance now)
DJ is shown last, seemingly falling back while holding his pet rabbit: Bunny in his hands with a happy smile. His teammates shown in the background starting with Duncan, Tyler, Justin and Alejandro ending with Chef Hatchet and Chris McClean.
He is followed by Mike and Zoey, both clutching their hands and smiling at each other as in background appears Brick, Jo, Lightning, Sam and Staci.
And lately Cameron appears staring up at the others.
(To overcome this fate that has come over me)
The screen turns black and the Eye of XANA immediately flashes into existence, glowing red and shadowing the outline of a singular person with red glowing eyes.
(The ending of this story)
Aelita is shown, standing in a meadow now with the wind gently blowing through her hair.
(I will hold it close as I wonder so aimlessly)
She holds up a hand, gazing sadly up as the images of her friends and parents appear in the sky.
(Into this new world)
Her hand then becomes digital, transitioning to Lyoko.
((The game has only just begun))
She gazes up a little longer before she notices her new friends and allies standing with her and smiles before looking forward, seeing a tower in the distance.
(I can see it in your eyes)
Just as they are about to rush towards the tower, the camera angles up into the digital sky as the song reaches its end.
The scene then shifts to pictures of Aelita and her friends both old and new on a desktop as the title appears on last time:
CODE: TOTAL DRAMA REALITY
( No Pain No Game (From Btoom!) Ends )
Episode 12: Training
"Stand on a roof with only my under wear? Gosh, that's not right!" Harold groaned looking at his card.
"Sorry dude, a challenge's a challenge." Trent said before looking at his card. "Play the bagpipes? Oh, I hate that instrument. Why can't it be a guitar?"
"Because it wouldn't be fun if you played an instrument that you knew how to play and liked. And for complaining you have to play it while running from a mime." Said Chris over a speaker.
"What?!" Trent shouted.
"Sorry, man. Them's the rules."
"You mean the rules you make up?" Trent asked glaring.
"Yes, those rules. Look out behind you."
Trent turned and a saw... a mime!
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Chris laughed. "Spaz!"
Duncan looked up. "Wow...that was some girly scream."
He then looked to where Courtney had just received her challenge.
"Kiss Duncan in public...oh come on!" Courtney whined.
"Oh no, not again." Duncan smacked himself on the face. He already had one black eye from kissing her. He only hoped Gwen would never find out.
"DUNCAN! GET OVER HERE!" Courtney chased Duncan down an alley.
'Man, if that woman gets me, she'll give me another black eye just to add insult to injury afterwards.' Duncan thought. 'Think Duncan, think you three days grace reject-ow that really hurt my pride just then.'
Confessional: Duncan
Duncan glared at the camera. "Ok, I know she's hot, but her obsessive compulsions drove me nuts."
'I need to think of a way to get away from her quick- I can't even think straight because of her!'
"DUNCAN GET BACK HERE AND LET ME KISS YOU!"
"HELL NO, AFTER YOU DO, YOU'LL BREAK MY NOSE!" Duncan replied.
Beth was hiding in a trash can from the two actors dressed as cops, who were taking a picture with Cody.
"Say 'au revoir' (sp?)!" Cody said.
"Au revoir!" Cody snapped a picture of him holding a thumb up with the two cops.
"Thanks guys!" Cody ran off.
Beth peeked out of the trash can.
"There she is!" The cops ran towards her.,
"Eep!" She turned her trashcan over and rolled down a road, easily losing the cops in traffic.
"I told you, and you proved me right." Duncan nursed his black eye.
He now had two black eyes which made it hard to see.
"Oh, shut up." Courtney said as she wiped her mouth.
"Oh, you know you enjoyed it princess." Duncan rolled his eyes.
"About as much as kissing Owen's a(bleep!)." Courtney replied.
"Language!" A crew member said.
"Sorry." They said at the same time.
"I'm heading back to get some ice, excuse me." Duncan began to walk back to the studio.
Confessional: Courtney
"Just to let you all know for the record I only kissed him so that I could beat him. There's no way I am going to lose to him or Gwen." Courtney crossed her arms.
"Lose a race to the Louvre to Brick?" Jo read her card before throwing it on the ground. "No way! I don't throw challenges!"
"Lose a race to the Louvre to Jo?" Brick read his own card. "…If I must than I must."
"What?!" Jo spun, glaring at Brick. "You throw a race with me to win?!"
"If it means helping my team win, then I'll do it." Brick stated.
"No way!" Jo declared. "I'm not letting you get a win over me!"
"So…How do we start then?" Brick asked, skeptically.
"Like this…" Jo got ready to run which Brick quickly did as well. "On your mark, get set, GO!"
…
…
…
…
…
"Wait, we haven't moved." Brick pointed out.
"Exactly." Jo said, not moving a muscle.
"Lose to a video game?" Sam read his card. "I guess I can try. If it's hard then I can't say I didn't try."
Unfortunately, it was literally one of the easiest games in existence and Sam for all his skills and desires to win…just couldn't resist playing to win.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Wear a clown outfit and make-up and pose for twenty minutes." Justin paled. "I-I-I ca-can do it."
The interns came up and provided Justin with a clown outfit and make-up.
And then came the cameras.
"DON'T LOOK AT ME!"
B looked at his card and paled.
Dawn looked at her card and gasped. "How cruel!"
"My great-great-great-great aunt invented this during the time when people had a hard time learning to build-"
"SHUT UP!" Anna-Marie pulled out some hair-spray which she then used on Staci to stop her from talking.
Once Staci had been silenced Anna paled when she read her card. "I ain't using this for my hair!"
"I have to kiss one of Mike's personalities?" Zoey asked, reading her card with a contemplative look. "Well, they are all kind of Mike in a way."
"Uh yeah…" Mike rubbed the back of his head. "If you leave out the fact that Chester is an old man and Manitoba is in his forties."
"Ew!" Zoey winced with a disgusted and horrified look on her face.
"So I guess there's Svetlana or…Vito."
"…Would Svetlana be okay with being kissed?"
Confessional: Zoey
"I know they're all technically the same age as Mike but Chester looks way too much like an old man and Manitoba acting like a man in his forties makes it really hard to remember."
Confessional: Mike
"Can't blame Zoey for choosing Svetlana as last. Like I said, Chester and Manitoba would be too old, and I think she still has bad memories of Vito." Mike shrugged.
"Good morning, everyone. I am sure you all know why I have called this meeting."
Principal Jean-Pierre Delmas stared down the table where the teacher staff of Kadic had assembled.
Jim Morales, Physical Education.
Mrs. Meyer, Math Teacher.
Suzanne Hertz, Science Teacher.
Rosa Petitjean, Cafeteria woman.
Gilles Fumet, History Teacher.
Yolanda Perraudin, Nurse.
Kensington, English Teacher.
"Yes, it's our missing students. Stern, Della Robbia, Belpois and Ishiyama." Suzanna answered.
Principal Delmas nodded. "Yes. Following the strange cyber attack the tabloids have named the 'Red-Eye' virus, they all disappeared, leaving only Miss Stones. She was questioned and she seemed genuine in her claim that she does not know where they are or what happened, only that they were separated following confusion caused by the cyber attack."
"We all noticed how absent they were at the beginning when they all first attended this school. Jeremy is an extremely gifted student, but he was absent nearly twenty times. If not for his stellar grades I would have reported him." Hertz stated.
"Almost twenty? I don't recall you ever mentioning this." Delmas replied. "The limit for absences is eight at this school."
"Admittedly, I should have done something about it, but his grades kept him from failing and thus I overlooked it." Hertz stated. "And Yumi Ishiyama, missed class in the eighth grade about eight times if I recall."
"It was the same with Stern and Della Robbia too, though they made up in gym class." Jim stated. "I thought they were up to something that year too, but they only admitted to planning a prank, so I let it at that."
"And then after the second year when Stones arrived, they stopped and were on time at their classes like they were supposed to." Delmas stated. "And now, following this cyber attack, they are missing. You all remember that the cyber attack included a strange message, correct?"
"'I live again. And I am coming for you.'" Nurse Yolanda recalled. "That's what it said. What could it possibly mean?"
"I am not sure, but I don't believe it's a coincidence." Delmas stated. "So far, the names of the missing students have not been released to the public, but I am sure rumors will reach the ears of every family of the students here. Their disappearance following this attack might be connected to their mysterious activities during their beginning years. I do know what it could be, but I worry they were involved in something dangerous."
"And you believe Stones might know?" Hertz asked. "Why not tell us?"
"Perhaps she believes that telling anyone will make things worse." Fumet stated. "Given how close we've seen them, I don't think anyone here believes Miss Stones would not care for their safety."
"Then what can we do?" Jim asked. "Should we keep a close eye on her?"
"For now, but if she starts becoming absent from classes that's where we draw the line." Delmas answered. "I am not sure what they ended up involved in, but we can't risk it endangering the rest of the students here."
"And what happens when the families start asking questions?" Hertz asked. "The Ishiyamas have been most vocal about wanting to know where their daughter is."
"Della Robbia and Stern's family will be getting in touch real soon." Jim pointed out.
"If nothing about the missing students is heard by the time they do, we will have to ask Miss Stones directly what has happened, regardless how she feels." Delmas answered, exhaling deeply.
"Well, what an exciting day we've had everyone! All around town, standing half naked on roofs, dressing up as clowns, running from mimes and the fuzz, man this was good! And the pies really added a touch to it." Chris grinned. "Unfortunately for all your hard-earned efforts, the Red Vultures completed the most challenges first and won. The runner ups are the Yellow Hamsters. And the losers are the Blue Rats! The rest of you, good job! But there's one more thing you need to know...loser team stays in the loser dorm, which is at the bottom floors, runner up team in the Runner Up Dorm which is on the second floor, and the Winner Team in the Winner Dorm which is the top and best floor."
"Say what now?!" Half the cast shouted.
"Thems the rules." Chris shrugged. "Here are your report cards. They will be used when you vote off one of your teammates. Just fill the box next to the name of the loser you want gone."
The Blue Rats sat outside on the bleachers, curiously seeing a green pipe right in the middle of the ground.
"You have cast your votes. Whoever does not receive a Chris Trophy has to go down the Pipe of Shame and can never come back, ever." Chris said, walking out, carrying a tray of trophies shaped in his image.
"The following names I will call out are safe. Alejandro." Chris tossed a trophy and Alejandro managed to catch it.
"Noah."
Noah caught next trophy.
"Tyler."
"Yes-Ow!" Tyler cheered but was cut off as he couldn't catch the trophy that ended up smacking him in the face.
"Owen."
Owen smiled, catching his trophy.
"Anne Maria."
"Oh yeah!" Anne Maria cheered, catching hers.
"Sierra."
Siera happily caught the next one.
"Duncan."
Duncan simply caught his, smiling in satisfaction…
"Courtney."
But then scowled to hear Courtney was safe. For her part, Courtney didn't even bother to glare back at the delinquent.
"Justin."
Justin easily caught the next one.
"Lightning."
"Oh-yeah!" Lighting cheered as he caught the next trophy. "Sha-Wow!"
"Trent, Staci, in my hands is the final trophy. Trent, you sucked with the bagpipes as you were too busy screaming like a sissy. Staci, you kept mumbling your stories and failing to keep your mouth like the card asked."
"And now the final trophy goes to…"
...
...
..
...
...
"Trent."
Trent grinned as he took his trophy.
Staci sighed miserably as she stood up. "Fine, I can handle going down a pipe. You know my great-great-great-great-great-GAH!"
Chef picked Staci up by the back of her sweater and dropped her down the pipe, earning a scream from her as she fell.
"Thank you, Chef." Chris sighed as Staci's screams echoed but faded down the pipe.
"And now, the Blue Rats has lost one team mate. Will they bounce back in the next challenge, or will they be sending someone else home? Find out next time on Total, Drama, Reality!" Chris claimed. The cameras cut out, and Carlos shook his head.
"You really take that last line too far every season man." The Producer said.
"Ha, ha."
Aelita had been watching the end of Total Drama Reality from her dorm room and was glad to see none of her new friends get sent home.
She looked at the list of numbers the group had left her and dialed Gwen's black berry.
Gwen picked up after several moments. "Hello?"
"Gwen, it's me, Aelita." Aelita said. "Good job on the show today."
"Hey, we did it twice; the second time was much easier." Gwen replied.
"I need you and the others to come down to the factory as soon as you are able, there are some things we need to talk about."
"What about the cameras?"
"Don't worry, I managed to hack into Chris' network, it'll look like you guys never even left your rooms. And just so you know, there are cameras in every room, including yours and the others."
"That figures. I'll let them know, we'll see you then." Gwen hung up.
Aelita brought her cell phone, sending a quick text message to William before she turned to the door, opening it slightly to check if the hall was empty or not. Once it was clear, she came out and quietly closed her door before heading out.
Once she was gone, another door opened, and Sissy peeked her head out…
"Hey, Aelita." William was already waiting for her near the manhole. "Got your text message and was out the door a second later."
"Thanks, William." Aelita said gratefully as she lifted the sewer hatch.
"Are you sure you want me coming along? I wasn't very helpful the last couple of times." William asked as he climbed down.
"We were all taken by surprise that time, William. Besides, aside from me you're the only veteran left." Aelita replied as William landed on the ground.
"That's not exactly much." William said solemnly.
"I know but we have an entirely new group with us, and I don't want to make the same mistakes as we did when we recruited you." Aelita replied as they grabbed the nearby skateboards. "Besides, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat as you and the others are now."
"What do you mean?" William asked curiously.
"XANA was able possess Jeremy, claiming that our immunity to his control wears off over a certain period of time when we're not using the scanners." Aelita answered as they took off. "We're all in danger of being possessed right now."
That sent a cold chill down William's spine. "You don't say…"
"Right. We need to build our resistance up as fast as possible." Aelita nodded.
"Got it."
William and Aelita skateboarded through the sewer, coming to a stop that would lead up to the road in front of the factory.
William left his skateboard against the wall, turning to Aelita as she grabbed the first bar on the ladder. "Aelita, there's something I want to know."
"What is it?"
"Why didn't you tell them what happened to Jeremy?"
Aelita froze in mid-climb, seemingly staring at the wall. "…."
"I know it might be hard to talk about, but you said they were all captured but we both know that's not true." William said carefully. "If they are going to help us-"
"I know!" Aelita cut him off sharply. "…I know."
William looked remorseful now. "Sorry, I don't mean to be insensitive."
"I know…" Aelita sighed, looking down with her eyes closed. "I should have told them…but we had just barely survived the last attack and…It's all still fresh in my mind. Just yesterday we were going to start a new year that we were all looking forward to and now…"
"Now we all got pulled back into the mess with Lyoko and XANA when we all thought it had been finished." William finished for her.
"I don't even know what I can tell their families." Aelita leaned her head against the ladder. "Can I even say we'll rescue Odd, Ulrich and Yumi when I'm not even sure if we can stop XANA this time? And what then? What I can tell Jeremy's parents, his cousin Patrick?"
William wished he could answer.
What could he say?
He wasn't as close to Aelita as her friends were, he couldn't help her with their families and what could he even say?
This wasn't even anything close as to what he went through coming back from being XANA's slave.
"Aelita…Are you sure you want to be doing this right now?" He asked after a moment, carefully choosing his words. "We can put it off until you…"
"No." Aelita shook her head and sighed. "Thanks, William but we can't afford to put it off."
She climbed up the ladder, leaving William to stare sadly for a second before he climbed up after her.
The new Lyoko fighters stepped out of the elevator and into the control room.
"Man, I never get tired of seeing this." Geoff said, looking around the lab. "So, what do you need?"
"Well first off, how did you handle going back in time? You all managed to act like nothing happened at all on live TV." Aelita said with an impressed smile.
"It was weird...but hey, I didn't want to look weird. It was kind of like being rewound like in a movie." Geoff shrugged.
"That's how everyone usually feels. But now that you've done your challenge for the day, I was hoping you could consider going to Lyoko for some training. You did good for beginners, but you need some more improvement. Geoff, you dropped your guard and got devirtualized first, but you did manage to take on those monsters easily before you got cocky. This is the second time I've ever had to recruit new people, and the first time went horrifically wrong for me and my friends." Aelita glanced at William for a second.
"What happened?" Bridgette asked.
"You know of Ulrich, Odd, Yumi, and Jeremy, well William was our newest recruit. When XANA launched an attack, everyone but William was occupied. Ulrich was with his father, Odd's girlfriend kept him in the dark, and Yumi was having trouble with her brother, so William and I went on ahead. He took out a squad of Creepers on his own, but he treated it as a game, and he paid for it when XANA possessed him." Aelita answered.
The explanation had everyone glancing at William who made a weak smile. "Yeah, wasn't fun for me."
"For months XANA used him to fight us until we managed to free him. I don't want to see that happen to you all, so we need to make sure we never let our guard down. Plus, after going to Lyoko for an amount of time you can build up resistance against XANA's control." Aelita glanced at DJ first. "DJ, you will need practice with your barriers. Your powers are purely based on defence, but maybe they can be used to defend more than what is in front of you."
She then looked at Gwen.
"Gwen, you are fairly good with your scythe, but you need to learn when to attack and how to attack based on the monster you're facing. The Megatank only took you out because you tried to take it out immediately. You need to get in close and wait until either before or after it fires and hit it right in the eye."
Next was Bridgette.
"Bridgette, you didn't know what your weapons were at first, but you got a good handle on them. But you focused too much on defending Geoff, you're a team now, we need to watch out for everybody."
And then LeShawna.
"And LeShawna, you obviously are a powerhouse, but you still need to train your abilities, we didn't have time for that since we were on a tight time constrain to reverse time. Now we have that chance." Aelita then looked at Cameron and Dawn. "Cameron, Dawn, you two both need to use the scanners to discover your Lyoko forms and build up a resistance to XANA's control."
Cameron gulped. "I can't say I'll be much help since I'm not really a fighter."
"You did take down Lightning in the final round last season." Dawn pointed out.
"Yeah, but I used my brains more than my…" Cameron held up his arms. "Actual strength."
"You want us to go train on Lyoko? Aren't there more monsters?" DJ asked.
"No, XANA only sends out monsters to defend towers he activates, and you need to familiarize yourself with the sectors. He has recently upgraded Lyoko so the elements can affect you, such as the feelings of heat, scent, and I'm certain getting shot wasn't a comfortable experience for any of you, so you'll need to get used to that also." Aelita answered. "And once you're all comfortable I would to ask you to come with me to Sector 5."
"What's that?" Geoff asked.
"Sector 5 is the center of Lyoko, where all data pertaining to everything happening there is recorded and stored." Aelita answered. "I'd like the chance to examine the data concerning the day my friends and I thought we beat XANA and see if there are any clues as to where he might be hiding. It might lead us to my missing friends."
The group shared a glance before silently agreeing.
"Where can we train then?" Gwen asked.
"Anywhere you wish. You've seen the mountain region. Want to try the desert region? Or the Arctic Region? The Forest Region is the next safest place though."
"I say we try the Arctic Region, if we get used to the cold we won't have as much trouble for when we actually need to go there." Gwen suggested.
"Cool." Geoff grinned.
"Alright, let's go." LeShawna said, pumping a fist.
"Transfer Geoff...Scanner Geoff...Virtualization."
"Transfer LeShawna...Scanner LeShawna...Virtualization."
"Transfer Gwen...Scanner Gwen...Virtualization."
This time they all landed on their feet on a small plateau.
"Hey Aelita, we landed on our feet this time!" Gwen called out, standing perfectly straight.
"Transfer Bridgette...scanner Bridgette...Virtualization."
"Transfer DJ...Scanner DJ...Virtualization."
Bridgette and DJ appeared next to the group moments later.
"Hey, we landed this time- ah!" DJ slipped, his feet flying out from under him and sending him down a slope.
"Don't let him fall over the edge!" Aelita shouted.
"I got him!" Bridgette went after DJ using her hover board.
DJ landed on the board in front of Bridgette as she flew them back up onto the large icy platform.
"Thanks Bridge." Said DJ as got off Bridgette's board.
"Listen carefully, everyone, it is absolutely important that you do not fall into the Digital Sea." Aelita instructed.
"What happens if we fall in?" asked LeShawna.
"Your digital structure would be ripped and shredded. You would be trapped forever."
"Okay, so no more falling." Said Gwen looking at everyone.
"Got it." They replied.
"Okay so how we do this?" asked Geoff. "And where are Dawn and Cameron?"
"I'm sending them now with William."
"Transfer William…"
The scanner doors closed as William took a deep breath.
"Transfer Cameron…"
Cameron was trembly slightly as his scanner doors closed.
"Transfer Dawn…"
Dawn simply closed her eyes as the doors closed.
Back in the lab, Aelita watched three digital avatar cards appeared on the screen.
"Scanner, William…Scanner Cameron…Scanner Dawn."
Inside the scanners, William's eyes were closed as he felt a familiar rush of wind as a light traveled up and down his body. Cameron shook a bit, taking deep breaths while Dawn remained serenely composed with her eyes remaining closed.
"Virtualization."
The three new figures landed before the already assembled warriors with one falling on their rear end while the others managed to land perfectly.
"Ow!"
"Whoa, Cam! Nice armor!" Geoff commented.
Cameron felt a little strange as he looked down at himself, red and yellow armor and his vision…it was like he was wearing visors of some kind. He noticed with the visor came several readings, detailing information seemingly about his appearance.
"Wow, this looks like the armor I made for the final round on Total Drama." Cameron remarked.
"That's because it is the armor." Dawn commented, making Cameron look at her.
Dawn wore a cream-colored robe with long sleeves that slightly covered her hands, and she wore the robe like a dress that fell to the ground, covering her feet with white markings resembling trees sewn into her outfit. A green belt was tied around her waist with golden markings and a moon symbol. A wreath made of sticks, leaves and flowers was placed on her head, giving her a rather elegant appearance.
"Dawn, you look like something out of a Dungeons and Dragons game." Gwen commented.
"I think she would be considered a Dryad." Cameron added.
"A what?" Dawn asked with a confused look.
"A tree nymph or spirit. Dryads were originally considered the nymphs of oak trees specifically, but the term has evolved towards tree nymphs in general. Often their life force was connected to the tree in which they resided, and they were usually found in sacred groves of the gods. "They were considered to be very shy creatures except around the goddess Artemis, who was known to be a friend to most nymphs." Cameron could not help but explain.
"I see…" Dawn said, looking thoughtfully down at her outfit.
"Okay, Gwen, I got to ask how'd you know what a Dry-what is?" Geoff couldn't help but ask.
Gwen shrugged. "I grew up taking care of my younger brother. We played lots of games, including board games."
"Ah."
William on the other hand, looked down at himself and saw he was wearing white and grey full-body armor with black accents, dark teel leggings and accents underlining his arms and hands, and pale cyan heeled boots. He also had a reddish magenta belt, spots on the medial malleolus of the tibias on his boots, and half handle on his zweihander (the other half being black), which had a triangular insignia on the apex of the hilt and a silver blade with spots of discoloration resembling Damascus steel and a single notch on the curve of the cutting edge.
This was his original appearance before being enslaved by XANA.
"Okay so how we do this?" asked Geoff.
"You pick someone as an opponent. Like I said you won't die if you lose all of your life points plus this would be a better way to find out what your abilities are than during a XANA attack." Said Aelita.
"There's eight of us so we all have someone to fight." Said Geoff thoughtfully.
"Bad idea. What happens if XANA decides to activate a tower while we're all fighting?" asked Gwen.
"Good point there, girl." Said LeShawna.
"Bridgette, I think it would be a good idea for you to spar with Geoff." Said Gwen looking at the surfer girl.
"What?! Why?"
"Like Aelita said you spent too much time defending Geoff during our last battle. If we are really going to do this, we need to work together. That means protecting all of us instead of just Geoff."
"We should do it, Bridge. We can't have a party if it's only you and me without any friends." Said Geoff putting a hand on Bridgette's shoulder.
"Ok." Bridgette replied reluctantly.
They both walked out until they were in the middle of the barren frozen wasteland. Geoff held out his chakrams and Bridgette's surfboard split into her two swords. Geoff put his chakrams together and he held out his two bladed axe.
"Remember, Bridge, we're not really hurting each other." Geoff said trying to reassure his girlfriend.
"Right."
"All right, here goes!" shouted Geoff as he charged forward.
Raising his axe, he jumped into the air and swung it down at Bridgette. The surfer jumped to the side avoiding the axe as it slammed into the ice. Geoff pulled out leaving a large crack in the ground. He swung again only to be met by Bridgette's two swords held in a cross formation. Bridgette grunted as the attack pushed her back.
She then pushed Geoff back and leapt towards him swinging her swords in a downward arc. Geoff blocked and swung at Bridgette again, but she parried the attack. She spun around and elbowed her boyfriend in the back knocking him off balance. Bridgette quickly tried to stab him, but Geoff ducked, dodging the attack.
He quickly tripped Bridgette by sweeping his leg out knocking Bridgette off her feet. She fell on her back hitting the icy ground. Looking up she saw Geoff holding his axe up. But he hesitated to attack. Bridgette quickly rolled away, getting back on her feet and charging at her boyfriend. Meanwhile the others were watching the fight a few yards away.
Gwen was rubbing her arms to keep warm while LeShawna and DJ just watched the fight.
"Geoff had Bridgette right there." Said DJ.
"Yeah, but he hesitated." LeShawna replied.
"Can you blame him? Even if she wouldn't die, I don't see Geoff harming a single hair on Bridgette's head and vice versa. Can you two say you would do that to anyone you know and care without hesitation? LeShawna, what if you were out there right now fighting Harold? DJ, can you imagine fighting any of our friends like you were trying to kill them?
This is not like the show where we compete against each other. We're actually trying to fight each other. This is what Aelita meant when she said we needed to train." Said Gwen watching the fight. "Even those two have agreed to fight, they hate every moment of it. Even if they won't be harmed, they still hate having to fight each other."
"Yeah. It must be tough on them." Said DJ watching them.
"But they're doing it. But how can they find out their abilities if they hesitate to fight?" asked LeShawna.
Aelita was silent as she listened to the conversation. Gwen had a point. She remembered one time when XANA made that clone of Yumi and Ulrich was forced to devirtualize the real Yumi by stabbing through the chest with his sword. That must have been very difficult for Ulrich to do.
"I don't know. Maybe they'll work it out on their own or we'll have to help them. But we should wait a bit before we get involved." Gwen said.
LeShawna had a thoughtful look on her face as Gwen stated her observation about Geoff and Bridgette. She was hoping she could patch things up with Gwen since they didn't leave on the best terms last time. Maybe their time spent here on Lyoko would be perfect. Geoff and Bridgette spared for several more minutes before they called it quits, leaving the group to decide who would spar next.
It was a tough call to make, especially for the newcomers of the reality show.
Dawn was a pacifist by nature, figuratively and literally. She had never raised a hand in violence to any animal or human and had no experience in fighting. Cameron on the other hand, while having gained some experience from his time on Total Drama, was among the physically weakest members of the cast and it hadn't helped that he had spent his early years in a bubble.
Not a best way to exercise.
However, Cameron had a chance to examine the power armor he was wearing. He held up his hand and fired his own laser blasts that were blue in color, hitting a nearby ice wall.
"It's exactly the same as my power armor from last season's finale!" Cameron smiled excitedly under his helmet.
"Cool!" DJ looked impressed, along with most of the group.
"Hard to believe you constructed that from junk." Gwen remarked, sitting on a icy rock while holding out her scythe.
"Well, it wasn't easy." Cameron admitted. "I actually tried to patent the armor I made but someone beat me to it."
"Who?"
Cameron shrugged. "Some guy with a goatee. Never got his name."
"Good to know." William cut in. "But just remember, even if this is all digital this is the real deal. It won't be like a reality show so don't go thinking this is like those crazy pretend challenges."
All the TD Lyoko Warriors stopped and looked at William. "…Pretend?"
"All right, everyone. I think that's enough training for now." Aelita cut in. "Now, before I bring you all back, I'd like to take a chance to go to Sector 5."
Everyone paused and looked up at the sky, even though Aelita herself wasn't actually up there.
"You sure you need all of us for this?" William asked, holding his sword over his shoulder.
"Normally I would leave someone at the computer, but we need all the experience we can get. Plus you all need to get familiar with the layout of Lyoko before we try computer lessons." Aelita reasoned.
"Oh boy." Geoff nervously tugged the collar of his shirt.
"You all head to the edge of the sector. I'll call up the Transport Orb and meet you all directly in Sector 5." Aelita instructed. "And just so you don't overreact, the Transport Orb will look like a large white orb with the XANA Eye on it but it's not a monster so don't attack it."
"Okay, whatever you say, Aelita." DJ nodded before looking at William. "Uh…You know where we're supposed to go?"
"Just head north." Aelita cut in.
"Right!"
"Hold on, I'll make it easier and send the vehicles."
After a full minute, the three vehicles appeared.
"Nice." Geoff mounted the OverBike.
Gwen got onto the Overboard. "There are only three vehicles. How can we accommodate everyone?"
Cameron looked down at his boots, getting an idea. "Hang on a sec."
He clicked them together and to everyone's surprise, the metallic boots lit up with fire, lifting Cameron off the ground.
"It's exactly the same as my power armor from last season's finale!" Cameron smiled excitedly under his helmet.
"That is so cool!" Geoff exclaimed in equal excitement.
"Well, that solves a few dilemmas." William commented as he took the Overwing. "Dawn, LeShawna?"
"Thank you, William." Dawn nodded as she stepped onto the Overwing, followed be LeShawna.
"Here we go…" Aelita typed in the code to call the Transport Orb.
SCIPIO
The group was at the edge of the sector as a white orb with the Eye of XANA rising up, just as Aelita said.
"Are we sure it can take all of us?" Cameron asked skeptically as the group stepped forward.
Before anyone could reply, the Transport Orb shot forward and spun, the 'rear' end seemingly vanishing as it spun again, catching the entire group with the other half of the orb reappearing. The Transport Orb then shot off towards Sector 5.
Aelita already activated the automatic virtualization sequence by the time she finished her instructions. She made her way to the elevator and pressed the down button. A moment later, the doors opened to reveal the scanner room. Aelita stepped into the nearest scanner and waited as the scanner door closed.
First came the familiar white light that traveled up her body which would be followed by the signature flash of light that would signal her being virtualized.
Back in the lab, the computer screen flashed with a red exclamation point.
ERROR!
ERROR!
ERROR!
"Huh?" Aelita blinked as the scanner door opened. "What happened? Why wasn't I virtualized?"
The Transport Orb appeared in the Arena of Sector 5, depositing the TD Lyoko Warriors, a few of them staggering a bit.
"Okay, that was an experience." Gwen held a hand to her stomach. "Anyone get the feeling like they were on a merry-go-round going very fast?"
"It did feel a bit surprising." Bridgette admitted.
William looked up. "Okay, Aelita. We're here now. Where are you?"
"Everyone, we've got a huge problem!" Aelita suddenly exclaimed, making everyone jump in alarm. "I can't be virtualized into Sector 5!"
"What?"
Aelita typed away at the computer, seeing the red exclamation image on the screen. "I don't believe it. The virtualization codes for Sector 5, they're…they're gone. I can't virtualize directly into Sector 5."
That wasn't the only bad news.
A timer appeared on the screen: 3:07:21
"I don't believe it!" Aelita exclaimed.
"What is it?" William called out.
"XANA's somehow brought back the countdown. The labyrinth is back." Aelita answered, still in shock.
"Huh?" Practically half the TD Lyoko Warriors asked at once.
"The labyrinth is a defense program in the Core Zone. If you don't find the Key in three minutes, you'll be trapped in Sector 5 until someone else enters and presses the Key." Aelita hastily explained. "If XANA removed the materialization codes for Sector 5, you must not be devirtualized or you'll end up in digital limbo!"
"That's bad right?" Geoff asked.
"Yes/Yes!" William and Aelita answered at the same time.
"Okay, we better move." Geoff said as the wall opened.
As soon the walls opened, the group took off running through the blue colored corridors, coming up into a large chamber, the walls seemingly made of blue blocks and rectangles.
"Okay, we're in a giant room, Aelita." Gwen called out. "Where's the Key?"
"It's there. On the wall opposite of where you are standing. Watch out for monsters. This place used to crawl with monsters known as Creepers, they had low life points but made up for it by having forty attack points with their weapons." Aelita answered and added. "I don't know if these will be the same monster of if they have been upgraded like the others."
Cameron looked up and saw an Eye shaped switch up on the wall. "There it is. I got it."
He activated his rocket boots and shot up towards the Key.
"Cam, wait!" Aelita suddenly called out. "There are monsters in the room!"
Cameron was then hit by a laser, knocking him out of the air and sending him falling towards an open hole.
"Catch him!"
Bridgette jumped onto her board and shot forward, catching Cameron before he fell into the hole. "Gotcha!"
"Where did that shot come from?" Geoff asked, pulling out his chakrams.
William looked up, narrowing his eyes. "There!'
The three looked up to see four strange creatures emerging from an upper section of the furthest wall.
"Aelita, are those Creepers?" DJ asked, the others and himself readying for battle.
The screen showed four enemy signals but that was all Aelita could tell. "No, they're something different. Life points are much higher. They're as high as a Tarantula and with equal fire power."
The new monsters in question had three black cylindrical shaped legs attacked to a torso shaped like white cone that a neck made of red veins that attached the 'head' the torso. The head was oval in shape, their faces painted with black Eyes. Underneath the Eye was a 'mouth' with red pointed teeth and what looked like a cannon.
"Whoa. They look like Tripods." Cameron muttered.
"That's what the computer is calling them too. Tripods: two hundred life points. Their weapons cause thirty life point damage." Aelita informed the group.
The Tripods dropped down from the upper wall, their legs angling down, allowing them land standing up as they faced the group. The new monsters stopped in a line, spread out a bit, and began to open fire. Bridgette parried and dodged an entire salvo on her own while Gwen spun her scythe quickly in her hands. The entire weapon glowed light blue as it made a barrier between her and the lasers, deflecting them.
"Whoa, nice!" Geoff, not getting distracted and devirtualized this time, he tossed one Chakram that cut through a Tripod's leg and then blocked a shot using his other Chakram.
Cameron held up his hand and fired his own laser blasts that were blue in color at the Tripods.
The Tripod staggered but managed to remain standing as it continued to fire. DJ made a barrier around himself, Dawn and LeShawna and began to spread the barrier out, trying to angle it to deflect the blasts back at the Krabs. Gwen tossed her scythe again, and it sank right into a Tripod's XANA symbol, destroying it. Bridgette leaped onto her board and flew into the air, trying to come down at the Tripods from behind.
But the middle Tripod turned its head by a hundred and eighty degrees, firing its laser and striking her in the chest, knocking her off her board and onto the ice below. As she landed, the Tripod tried to fire on her, but she rolled aside and retrieved her swords. Parrying two blasts, she leaped into the air and flicked her wrists. Both swords spun as they were sent down at the Tripod, which fired a quick salvo. One sword was knocked out of the air, and Bridgette was struck in the face by a blast.
The hit to what was considered a vital area doubled the damage and devirtualized her.
Her sword however sank into the Tripod before she devirtualized, leaving only the damaged Tripod.
"Oh, you're dead now pal!" Geoff leaped into the air and tossed his Chakram, ending the Tripod's futile resistance.
"Aelita, is Bridgette okay?" DJ frantically asked.
Aelita gripped the armrest of her chair. "I'm sorry, everyone. Until we get the new materialization codes for Sector 5, I can't bring her back. Hurry and get the Key and I'll guide you to where you need to go to save her."
The group all shared nervous looks now, Bridgette possibly being lost forward shaking them to their core. Geoff was taking it the hardest, literally shaking in horror and anguish from what has happened to his girlfriend.
William noticed and stepped in between. "She'll be okay, guys. I promise. Aelita and I will make sure of it."
He turned to the Key and shouted. "Super Smoke!"
He turned into a cloud of white smoke and shot up towards the Key, solidifying in mid-air and hit the key just before the timer hit zero.
00:00:02
"Good work, William." Aelita sighed in relief. "Now make your way to the elevator and it will take you up to the Celestial Dome. That's where you'll find the interface that can help restore Bridgette."
Aelita's eyes went up as the Super Scan detected an activated tower. "Everyone, the Super Scan has detected an activated tower!"
