I do not own…

When the sun was just rising up a full black 2 year old Newfoundland woke up as the sun hit him. He yawned first before and then stretched out his body before walking to his mistress room. She was still sleeping so he decided to jump on the bed and started licking her face. Kagome groaned and tried to push him away. Then rolled to the other side and placed a pillow over her head. So he decided to just lay on top of her.

"Urgh, Bear, get off." She groaned "Get off."

Kagome got up and pushed him off of her. She looked over at her clock and moaned when she saw that it was only 7:24 am.

"Can you ever let me sleep in?" She whined before getting up.

She knew that he was hungry so she went to the kitchen to get his dog food and place it in his food bowl. When she placed it down Bear immediately started eating. While he was eating she went to wash her face to wake herself up and changed into her jogging clothes. After she was done she started to stretch when Bear came in with his leash.

"Are you going out again, Ms. Kagome?"

Smiling, Kagome looked to the side and saw five year Emily Night. A little girl that died and haunted this apartment building. Kagome was the only one that could see and talk to her. She has tried to help her crossover to the other side but she wasn't ready to. The priestess believed it was because she wanted to know how she died.

"Yeah, we'll be back soon. Would you like to come with us?" Kagome asked

"No thank you, Ms. Kagome, not today." Emily smiled "I'm gonna play with the kids on the second floor."

Kagome giggled as she placed Bear's leash on him.

"Try not to scare parents while you're there." Kagome said "Be a good girl."

"I will. Have a good day." Emily smiled before disappearing.

Once she left the two headed out of their apartment and did their morning run. It was a bit nippy, signs that fall was already here. They jogged down the street until they reached the park area where there was a running trail. It felt like a normal day as they continued on. After a thirty minutes of their run they headed back to the apartment. She then went into her room to get her clothes and went to take a shower before she made herself some breakfast. Today was her day-off and she felt like having blueberry and banana pancakes and bacon. She was half way done until someone ranged her doorbell, making Bear bark a little. After making sure her breakfast won't burn she went to look through the peephole. She raised a brow when she saw that it was a flower delivery guy.

"Hello?" She said, as she opened the door a little with the chain hooked on.

"Good morning, ma'am. These are for a Ms. Kagome Higurashi." The man politely said

In his hands was a beautiful bouquet of her three favorite flowers: Lilies, Calla Lilies and roses.

"Those are beautiful. Who are they from?" She asked

"I'm sorry ma'am they didn't say who." The man said

So Kagome closed the door to unhook the lock to fully open the door and took the bouquet.

"Do I need to sign anything?" She asked

"Nope, it's all taken care of. I have a lovely day." The man smiled before heading off.

The priestess shut the door before locking and looked at the flowers. There was no card or note anywhere. She really didn't know how to feel about this as she wasn't dating anyone right now. For sure she knew no one at work or anywhere else could be interested in her. Deciding to just let it be, Kagome placed the flowers in a vase and put them on the coffee table in the living room. She returned to her breakfast and thankfully it was still warm.

The rest of the day went smoothly with no other surprises. She had to go to the farmers market to get some fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and a few other things. Not wanting to leave him in the house for that long she took Bear with her. When they were done there they went to the butcher shop to get some meat. The coffee shop was her last stop. When she got her drink she went to put some cream and sugar and she overheard the next customer arguing with the barista. Something about having fat milk in his coffee when he ordered without. The young girl offered to fix it but the rude man just scoffed and paid for his drink as he was in a hurry. As he was leaving Kagome noticed that he dropped a twenty from his wallet. When he left the priestess picked the bill up and placed it in the tip jar.

"Karma. Have a nice day." Kagome said, as she turned to leave.

"Thank you." The young girl smiled

Once she was outside she stopped to check her phone.

"That was awfully nice of you." A voice said

She turned to see that it was the guy behind her in line. He was around in his mid-thirties with black curly hair, blue eyes with glasses and a bit of a beard.

"I like to call it bad karma. He had no right to talk to her like that." She said

He let out a light chuckle with a small smile. Kagome did the same before looking up at the sky and noticed that it was gonna rain.

"Looks like it's gonna rain. Best be going. Have a nice day." She smiled, before heading to her car.

It rained a few minutes later but it didn't take her long to get home. She managed to get everything inside without getting too wet. After putting things away she cleaned Bear first as she didn't want him to smell like a wet dog before taking another shower herself. When she had her relaxation she fed Bear before making herself something for dinner. She decided on a Garlic Parmesan Flounder with some herb Roasted Potatoes and grilled Asparagus tonight. Along with doing a binging movie marathon on Netflixs. It was a mix of comedy, action and horror. When night came Kagome ended up falling asleep on the couch during one of the movies. In her dream she found herself in the wooden area of the park but she wasn't alone. She tensed when saw movement coming out of the woods. It's aura was completely tainted with greed and wrath. It was a creature that she wasn't familiar with. The creature was on all fours, had black leather like skin, antlers on its head, and white milky eyes. It's face looked human but its body almost looked skeleton-like. Once it saw her the creature stood up on its feet and it was over 9ft tall, looking at her with curiosity. Kagome wanted to run as she had no weapons to defend herself with but she couldn't. The creature stalked towards her slowly. When it was close enough it lifted it's hand and was about to stroke her face until she woke up from Bear licking her face. She groaned a little as she woke up but smiled at him as she scratched his head. Looking at her clock she noticed that it was around 2 am so she turned off her T.V and was about to head to bed. Before she did something didn't feel right. She had a strange feeling that someone was in her apartment. The Priestess checked out her apartment but she didn't sense anyone inside. Nothing was taken or misplaced but she couldn't shake that strange feeling. Thinking that she was just tired she double checked her locks and went to bed.

The next morning Kagome was once again woken up by Bear and they started their routine. This time Emily wanted to go with them so instead of jogging they just walked the whole. When the child spirit was around they would walk to the park instead. They came to the wooden area of the trail Bear stopped in his tracks, making Kagome stopped too. Kagome looked around wondering what got his attention. She didn't sense anything dangerous but she did smell something. It was an old smell that she wished she could forget, the smell of a dead corpse.

"Ms. Kagome, there is a dead person over there." Emily said, pointing towards a shadowy tree.

Bear pulled the priestess forward where the smell was coming from. Kagome aloud it but didn't go anywhere near the corpse that came into view. It was a good thing that she didn't eat yet because the sight gruesome made her want to hurl. The victim was male and he was nailed to a tree. His eyes were taken out of his sockets, hands cut off and his stomach was cut open with flowers inside. After she stepped away she quickly took out her phone and called the cops. A few minutes went by and the cops came, along with some of the FBI's agents. One agent she recognized from yesterday.

"Um hello again." The man said

"Hi." Kagome replied with a small smile.

The other man that was African-American and looked to be the man in charge looked at them with brow raised.

"You two know each other?" He asked

"We've only met briefly yesterday, Jack." The man said

"Oh really." An agent woman smirked

The two other men agents let a few chuckles at this.

"I'm Will. Will Graham. And this is Jack Crawford, my boss." Will said "And the team Beverly, Kat, Jimmy Prince, and Brian Zeller."

"I'm Kagome Hirguashi." Kagome said

"You're the one that found the body?" Jack asked

"Well, Bear did. The dead smell caught his attention." Kagome said, petting her Newfoundland. "We come here every morning around 8 am."

Will slightly smiled at the sight of the two and bent down to pet the dog but stopped when Bear let out a warning growl. Kagome quickly pulled Bear away knowing how he can be and used her command word to calm down.

"Suwatte Otokonoko." She demanded in Japanese. (Sit Boy).

Bear stopped growling and sat back down.

"Sorry, Bear is protective of me and doesn't take too well with strangers." Kagome said

"No it was my fault. You trained him very well." Will smiled

Jack cleared his voice to get their attention. Kat and Jimmy had to hold in a few chuckles when they noticed Will blush a little.

"You haven't noticed anything strange lately? Anything suspicious?" Jack asked

Kagome shook her head.

"Just the normal joggers and dog walks that come and go." She said

"That's all for now. Here is my card in case you happen to remember anything else." Jack replied

Kagome accepted the card with a nod and took that cue to leave. She said goodbye to Will before heading back home.
