Being a drama fanatic who's devoted their life to the arts is the backstory of Sharpay Evans, East High's primadonna who's close to graduating with the rest of her class. Most students avoided her due to the fear she's instilled at the school, which kept the blonde free from any trouble with immature performers. Nothing was different with her during lunch since most people decided to stay back in classrooms and work, or go down to the cafeteria for lunch and to talk with friends. But one day during lunch, Sharpay had to deal with something she thought couldn't happen. Well, she didn't think ahead about it anyway. Her boyfriend of two months had broken things off with her over text earlier in the morning, which made Sharpay furious while everyone at her brother's lunch table saw her outburst.

"Why did he break up with ME? DOES HE KNOW THAT I'M THE BEST GIRL HE COULD'VE EVER HAD?!"

"He does now, Shar."

"But I wish things weren't like this! I wish I was with someone who truly loved me!"

Ryan tried to soothe his sister while shoving food in his mouth, unable to seem fully sympathetic.

"How can you eat at a time like this, Ryan?!"

"Because it's lunchtime, sis. And I haven't had anything ever since breakfast."

Sharpay grabbed a tissue and blew into it as tears came from her eyes. It felt like her love life died after this, but Ryan had a big plan up his sleeve.

"Uh, Shar?"

The blonde took a deep breath and blew into another tissue, "...Yeah?"

"You said you wish you were with someone who loved you truthfully, right?"

"Ryan, don't make me repeat anything!"

Ryan smirked, knowing he had hooked interest with his sister; "I was going to try and help but nevermind."

"WHO IS IT?! TELL MEEE!"

"Shar, it should be obvious who I'd say."

"...Just tell me."

"Zeke! He's had a crush on you for three years so why not test the waters with him?"

"But I thought my last boyfriend was the one."

"Sharpay, just do it. You'll never know if you don't try."

She looked at the basketball and cheerleader table, spotting the tall broad-shoulder student who already exchanged looks with Sharpay. He made heart eyes, while she made disgusted ones.

Too many classes later, school was done for the day. It was only Monday, which meant there was more in store, of course. Everyone flooded the halls of East High, trying to leave without getting their face accidentally shoved into a wall or a locker. Sharpay was at hers, gathering her luxuriously pink things before closing quickly and revealing Zeke while he leaned on a locker nearby.

"Hey, Sharpay."

"Zeke?! What do you want, tall person?"

"I was wondering if you wanted some of my cookies. You know I always offer you some!"

"...Gimme the whole thing."

Sharpay snatched the container, opening it to get a whiff of the treats in front of her. Even after one bite, the savory goodness made Sharpay's insides melt; "Oh my gosh, these are too delicious! Your girlfriend is soo lucky!"

"Speaking of that, I was also thinkin' if you...wanted to go out with me."

Sharpay froze instantly. Zeke, the basketball player who's been crushing on her for too long, finally admitted his feelings.

"You want to...date me?"

"I wouldn't even think twice about saying yes, Sharpay."

She didn't even know how to react, even if Ryan suggested dating him already. The blonde just smiled, oddly enough; "Sooo...we're dating?"

"I guess, if that's okay with—"

Zeke was quickly cut off by Sharpay hugging him tight, which made his face heated with blush. He immediately returned the hug, not hesitating to (even if this "nice side" of the diva spooked him a bit). She pulled away, even surprising herself with what she just did. Without much second thought, Sharpay ran off, confusing Zeke but making him blush even more. As she ran away, Zeke celebrated his victory in finally winning Sharpay over.

"Finally, she likes me!"

Zeke went to his locker and unlocked it with a pep in his step. He grabbed his stuff and left, happy with how school ended today.

After a quick drive to her parents' luxurious home, Sharpay ran straight to her room and got changed. She plopped onto the middle of her bed and took a deep breath, remembering what just happened along with what she did.

"Did I really just do that?!"

Sharpay facepalmed, not believing the fact that she just hugged the one guy she wanted to keep hooked. But after a while of lying down, she checked her iPhone to see a message from an unrecognized number.

"zeke here!"

"...how did you get my freaking number?!"

"ryan gave it to me" "but how r u? are you free this week?"

"ask me tomorrow bcuz i have to figure out my schedule"

"mhm" "gotta go practice with the boys, ttyl!"

"this is going to be a long week…"
