By the time they reached the Jubilife City, Piplup and Dawn have managed to come up with a move which will be perfect for the Pokémon Contest. It wasn't easy to learn it, but in the end the spinning Bubble Beam will make a grand entrance at the Jubilife Pokémon Contest.
Another thing that happened on the way to Jubilife City, is that Dawn caught herself a new Pokémon. As a starter as both coordinator and a trainer, Dawn looked at all different trainers and their Pokémon. She was marveling at all the types, as well as the well-practiced moves which they were performing.
"These trainers are really going at it… aren't they?" Lillie spoke from where she stood on Dawn's right side, while Ash is on Dawn's left side. All three were watching the coordinators and their Pokémon in training.
"Of course they are," Dawn said. "To be the best trainer is tough and takes a long time to get there along with a lot of training, but to become the Top Coordinator, it takes even more time and training, as not everything is about battle. It's about showing off your Pokémon in the best light, along with their moves."
"To tell you the truth, I wouldn't know," Ash spoke. "I never really cared that much about Pokémon Coordination, so I never really learned much about it. I only know the basics behind it from watching a couple of them while in the Hoenn Region."
"I'm surprised there is something you don't know." Lillie said to Ash, who only shrugged.
"You're not the first to tell me that," he said. "And won't be the last either. Contrary to what many believe… I'm not the all-knowing. There are things I don't know for one reason or another. I don't know much about Pokémon Coordinating as I was never interested in it."
"Well, I'm sure you will learn all about Pokémon Coordinating while we travel through Sinnoh, Ash." Dawn said.
"Yeah," he groaned. "I bet I will, as I'll have to go to all the competitions with you."
"Ahh, don't be like that, Ash," Lillie said with a small smile. "I'm sure it won't be that bad, and it might be interesting. Who knows, maybe I'll even try it and enter one or two competition, just to see how it is."
"You'll be wasting your time." Ash said bluntly, making Lillie and Dawn look at him with surprise in their eyes. "To be a great Pokémon trainer, or a Coordinator, it takes passion and talent. You have a passion and talent for training Pokémon for regular battles, but in all the time I've known you, I've never seen anything that would suggest to me that you have any passion for being a coordinator. Talent… maybe, but definitely not passion which Dawn has."
Lillie thought about what Ash said, and realized that… he is most likely right. She never had any interest in being a coordinator, even though she has seen a couple of competitions on TV. She found them interesting and beautiful to watch, but not to compete as a regular contestant.
Dawn didn't know Lillie that well, so she didn't have any opinion on what Ash said to Lillie. She would need to know the older girl a bit better, to be able to tell if Lillie has talent and passion for the Pokémon Competitions.

"There is still three days until the competition starts," Lillie pointed out. "What are we going to do in the meantime?"
"Well, I'll practice some more with Piplup and Buneary, so we would be ready for the competition," Dawn said. "The two of you can do what you want. Before I start to train, I need to do one other thing, though."

The last few months were very good for James Masterson… then again, everything is better than being a known criminal and then being sent to jail for five years where his life was a living hell.

This was done when the Shadow Legion sent two people to the prison, who went and caused a riot of such magnitude that 90% of prisoners and all the guards were killed in the riot and the prison was burned to the ground. James was one of the few who survived, and along with few other survivors, were sent to another, much better prison, where James was left alone for those last few months of his prison time.
And then, the day came when James was released from the prison. The moment he stepped out on the street, and breathed fresh air, James felt like he was reborn. He still had memories of his time in prison, and he will have then until the end of his life, regardless of how short of long it is, but now that he was free, he could leave all that behind, and start a new life.
He started a new life by going back to his home, where he knew that the only person waiting for him was the butler.
The reason only the butler was there has something to do with the request that James made to the representative from the Shadow Legion. He requested the assassination of his parents, and the organization obliged. Thus, James's parents were killed, though it was made to look like an accident on a vacation the two middle aged couple went on. He went and changed many things in the company, from how it works, to what they do, all the way to who works for the company. The people who worked in the company, worked for his parents. James though, he has other interests, and wants to be surrounded by people who he trusts, and not the people who his parents trusted, thus, he has fired many people, and hired even more, but all those hired now work for him, and follow his ideology, and business plans, and not his parents.

While James didn't necessarily trust her, she was very good in her work, and James knows that Giovanni trusted her a lot with his secrets. It's probably one of the reasons why Matori was also visited by the organizations representative and offered to join the Shadow Legion. Thus, as they both work for the same organization, and since James knew her to be very capable, he hired her to be his personal assistant.
Besides Matori, the two others who James wanted around himself to help with his business were Jessie and Meowth. His old partners in crime, and probably the only person and Pokémon in the world who James trusts besides his own Pokémon.
Jessie refused to work for James, though. She said she has no problem being around him, and help him whenever he wants, but all she wants right now was freedom… well, as much freedom as she can have as a member of the Shadow Legion.
Thus, while she would help him from time-to-time, Jessie wasn't around James a lot.
Meowth was a different story. He was happy to help James, as that would mean he will mostly be in one place, and won't have to go around much. He accepted James's offer to work for him, but for the job James wants him to do, Meowth would have to become stronger. Thus, he was sent to train, along with all of James's Pokémon. They would all be trained by some members of the Shadow Legion, whose job is to train the organization's Pokémon.
As of right now, several months after Jessie, James and Meowth joined the organization, Meowth was still in training, along with all of James's Pokémon.
Right now, James was sitting on his office chair in the main office of his company. The office is at the top floor of a 200 meters tall building in the Saffron City in Kanto Region. It is the highest and the most expensive building in the whole Kanto Region, even surpassing the height and luxury of the Ketchum Corporation Building which is located in the Celadon City… if only by a dozen or so meters.
The HQ of James's company are actually two buildings standing next to each other, and connected by a bridge at the top floor, allowing the passageway between the two parts, without having to go outside. At the top of the building there is a name of the Company, which is Masterson and Stewart with the name spanning on both buildings and the bridge in between. The letters were very large, and shining in red color with black outline, so it was clearly visible from every part of the Saffron City, and even some of the surrounding areas. (The building is based on the Folkart Towers, only with the bridge in between and the name of the company at the top floors, which the Towers don't have)
The name of the corporation comes from the last names of James's parents, with his father being the David James Masterson and his Mother's maiden name being the Stewart, her first name being Julia. It was the two of them who built the company from nothing, and made it into what it is today. One of the most valuable companies in the world, being in the lower half of the top 10 most valuable companies in the world.
As for the office, it is rather large, with the African Blackwood desk being right in front of the windows which are covering one entire part of the office overlooking at the Saffron City. Across from the desk is the entrance to the office, a large double door also made from Blackwood. There are chairs in front of the desk. All in all, the office looks very simple, yet it is rather expensive when you take into account how much marble tiles are worth, and not to mention all the furniture from the Blackwood, which is the rarest, thus the most expensive wood in the world.
The first 25 years of James's life can be divided in two parts. The first part is when he was a child and lived with his parents. He had money, status, pretty much everything he wanted, but he didn't really care that much about the money back then. The first night at the Jubilife City was spent with Ash retelling his journey. Then, it was time to sleep.
The next day was spent with all three young trainers, training their Pokémon, so they can become stronger and be ready for the challenges ahead.
When it comes to Ash and his Pokémon, he was training his new ones, but also the ones he has which he caught in the Alola Region. Those Pokémon were trained before, but not that much, and there is still room for them to improve and become stronger. Much stronger. Thus, Ash trained them all together, with his old ones going through a much tougher training then the new Pokémon. The Alola team was also helping the new Pokémon with their training, while they had a break in between trainings. They weren't doing much for them, but a tip here and there, and showing how a move works, and how to make it work, isn't that hard for the Alola Pokémon, even when they are tired.
Ash's training is almost always the same. First, he teaches his Pokémon some moves, before he focuses on them perfecting those moves, but also working on increasing their speed, strength and stamina. Alola team has learned many moves while in Alola, so now they are working on the second part of their training. In case of the Aipom. Starly and Shinx, they are in the process of learning moves, and then when they have enough of them, they will start on the second part of their training. That is a bit down the road, though, so it's unimportant right now. What's important is that Aipom, Shinx and Starly are doing well in learning to use Protect by the end of the second day in Jubilife City, and it allowed Ash to start teaching Shinx and Aipom, Iron Tail. Unfortunately, Starly can't learn Iron Tail, but there are other moves which she can learn, and Ash will make sure she learns it by the end of the third day.
Ash always trains his Pokémon, hard, but he is never in a hurry for anything. He doesn't train them hard so they can learn faster, but to learn, better. Thus, Protect, Iron Tail, and one other move for Starly, will be the only three moves which his three newest Pokémon will learn while in Jubilife City. All the time after they learn the moves, will be used to perfect them.
As such, the third day in Jubilife City was also spent in Ash training his Pokémon.

While Ash was training his Pokémon, Lillie and Dawn were also training theirs, though for a different reason and with different intensity.
Just like Ash, Lillie was training her Pokémon in preparation for the gym battles. In her case though, her Pokémon are already well trained, as most of them she has already had for a while, and has spent a long time training them. Her Pokémon are already prepared to challenge the gyms in the Sinnoh Region, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have to train them to improve more. There is always room for improvement, regardless of how powerful a Pokémon gets.
In Dawn's case, she is the youngest, and has even less experience then Lillie, which means she has no experience at all, and is just starting on her journey. That means that she needs all the help she can get from Ash and Lillie, which is why Lillie is helping her with her training, while Ash is only giving her advices here and there. He will let her start of on her own, and with Lillie's help for a little while, and then he will help her as well.
Technically speaking, Lillie doesn't have that much experience, either, as this is the first time she is traveling, but unlike Dawn, Lillie has had a full year of being taught by Ash, while in Alola, so while she hasn't traveled around, she has learned enough to be able to teach Dawn, even though she is just under two years older than the blue-haired girl from Sinnoh.
As she only has two Pokémon, she doesn't have much choice on which Pokémon to use in the upcoming Jubilife Competition, so she has settled on her starter Pokémon, Piplup. He is about as powerful as her second Pokémon, Buneary, but she has closer connection to him then Buneary, and she feels that she should go with him as he is a safer choice.
