Here is the final part of episode five. Enjoy.

A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers Part Three:

(Phoebe's Point of View)

Jason and I walked outside the ride back into the theme park. There was no sign of Annabeth, Tuastos or the stalker who had been seeking to capture Jason since the Arch. Jason was becoming scared. "We're not leaving here without her," I promised him.

"For the last time, demi-god, tell me where he is!" shouted a voice.

"I'll never tell you!"

"Annabeth!" Jason cried, dashing ahead.

"Jason!" I chased after him standing back towards the entrance. I pulled him behind a ride and we peered over seats. Tuastos was in chains. Annabeth was tied up before the man, her face bruised a little. He knelt and forced her face to meet hers.

"Tell me where he is,".

Annabeth spat in his face. He smacked her.

Jason tried to run out but I pulled him back. "Jason, no,".

"I can't let him kill her," he said desperately. "I'll never forgive myself,".

"There's got to be another way,".

"It's too dangerous for a plan,".

"No there has to be another way. Without you, the quest will fail. There has to be…," I paused. "I've got a plan,".

"No, Phoebe. It's too risky," he begged.

"Annabeth didn't get captured just so you could turn yourself in. I'm not asking you to agree with me. But I beg you to please trust me,". I implored. He looked out to Annabeth who refused to give him away. He couldn't let that be in vain.

"What's the plan?".

"I won't ask you again!" The man pointed his sword to Annabeth's chin.

"I would rather die than betray him,".

"Then you're of no use to me!" he raised his blade.

"Stop!" I shouted. I approached them. The man's men pointed their swords at me.

"Phoebe…" Annabeth breathed.

"Don't hurt her," I begged.

"Tell me where the boy is and I'll let her go," the man said.

"Who are you?" I demanded. "And what do you want with Jason?".

He smirked. "Of course, the gods never thought to mention us to you. You have no idea who that boy truly is. You have no idea who we are either,". Annabeth glowered up at him, unafraid of what he might do to her again. "We are not like the mortals of this world who are blind to the world around them whilst, in our world, everything is mystical and not corrupted like this one," the man's words made me tingle. What was he talking about? "Just like Jason isn't,". My lips parted. "Now I ask again. Where is he?".

"Phoebe don't," Annabeth begged.

"He'll turn himself in if you come to the ride up ahead," I answered.

"Phoebe!" she cried out angrily. Tuastos roared.

"He doesn't want to see you hurt Annabeth. And there's no point arguing with him. He'll hand himself in if he sees you unharmed,".

The men pulled her to her feet. "Show us the way," the man pointed his blade at me. "No tricks,". I gulped. I prayed to my father, that my plan would work. I led the way through the park, feeling his strange blade poking into my back.

Jason was awaiting us at the ride near the boats. He stood up when he saw us appear. "Are you okay, Annabeth?".

She couldn't answer. She was crying. A knot tied in my stomach. The man approached her, pushing me backwards towards Annabeth. "I'll never forgive you for this," she sneered.

I could see the fear in Jason's face. He was scared but he would rather hand himself in than see Annabeth be hurt. The man smirked as he gazed at him. "Such a beautiful young boy,".

"What do you want with me?" he demanded.

"You'll see. But first," the man held out his hand. "Your sword,".

He knew about the sword Jason's father left him. So, he knew who he was.

"Let the girls go first," he demanded.

"Sword first,".He ordered.

Jason pulled out his retracted blade and handed it. The man gazed at its blade. "Such a fine sword. Still as powerful as the day it was stolen from me,".

"You lie," he sneered. "It was a gift from my father,".

"You'll know everything soon enough. Once we return,". The men grabbed him.

I swiped my hands and water flew out of the ride river right into them, flushing them away. "Run!" I shouted.

Jason grabbed the sword from the leader's hand and we fled through the theme park, hearing the loud voices behind us. we ran back to Tuastos and undid her chains. Tuastos is about to pounce on Phoebe for her 'betrayal'. "No Tuastos! It was all part of the plan. He's gone now. Phoebe was just luring him into a trap,".

"Get through the gate!" I shouted. We managed to push through but the no-do-gooder was right behind us. He and his men tried to push through but we pushed back.

"Keep it closed!" Annabeth shouted.

Tuastos tried with all her might, but she was quite wounded and losing strength quickly. "I don't know how much we can keep this up!" I strained.

The sounds of the harmonica came again. The traps activated and our enemies fell back to avoid getting cut down.

(Jason's Point of View)

Hephaestus appeared from the shadows. I couldn't believe it. First, he freed Phoebe. Now, he had saved us. He glared a little at Phoebe. After what I told him about her, he was now assuming she had betrayed me.

"She didn't betray Jason. She saved him," Annabeth patted her back and she appreciated it.

"For a moment that's what I thought she was doing. But her father told me otherwise,".

She was relieved again. Her father had defended and encouraged Hephaestus to step in and go along with her plan.

Annabeth apologised to Phoebe. "I am sorry I doubted,".

"It's okay. It was risky but it was the only plan I could think of,".

"And it worked," I clasped her shoulder. "You saved us all,". We shared a warm group hug.

Hephaestus glared at the man imprisoned behind the fence. "I'll take care of them," he looked to Annabeth, whom I hugged tightly. "You're a good kid, Annabeth. Despite everything that intruder put you through, you never gave in. I'll put in a good word with your mum,".

I was silent. "Jason?" Annabeth asked. "Are you alright?".

"Yeah I'm fine. We've got the shield and now we need to get back to Grover and Cody,".

"You can run but you can't hide!" shouted the leader. "And we will meet again Jason,". Suddenly he turned white and whoosh! He was gone. Hephaestus was shocked. We were all shocked.

"Who was he?" Annabeth wondered. He couldn't be a god. Was he a demi-god with uncanny powers?

"I have no idea," the god of crafting answered. "I'll take these two abandoned accomplices to Olympus, and see what I can get out of them,". He turned to me again. "You need to be careful, Jason. Don't let that sword fall into the wrong hands whatever you do,".

I retracted it and slid it back into my bag. "Your face," Phoebe winced at the beatings Annabeth received from that monster. She raised her hands and some water levitated from the two prisoners clothes and she moved it over her face. She then used more water to heal Tuastos's injuries earning her trust back again. She licked her face.

"Thank you,". Annabeth hugged Phoebe and she hugged her back. Together we rode Tuastos back to the diner on the road with no running into monsters, policemen or strangers. Akeda was still there. He saw us and howled out loudly. There inside the café, Ares had kept Grover and Cody imprisoned in their seats. But their faces except his were beaming with pride as I lifted the shield and placed it right in front of the god of war who glared back at me with utter disapproval.

Cody was proud. "Told you he could do it," he jeered into Ares's surprised face. "Seems you were wrong,".

"We kept our side of the bargain now it's time for you to keep yours," I said boldly to Ares. "Where's our ride, Ares?".

A lorry. It was parked right outside the other side of the diner. "You're kidding me," she cursed. "We're not taking this,".

"Either that or nothing," Ares clicked his fingers. The doors magically opened. Inside there were animal cages covered by blankets, emitting honks and snorts and grunts. Cody cringed. He hated seeing this in person. "Get in and don't complain. I really don't care,".

"Of course you don't," I retorted back. "But what difference does it make? We've been travelling with a bear and a wolf. It's not like this will be the worst ride one could afford us,".

"Where will it take us?" Phoebe demanded.

"In a few hours, this thing is gonna be at the Lotus Casino in Vegas. Hermes hangs out there. You play your cards right, and his personal driver can get you in L. A in minutes. Here. Ares tossed her a rucksack. "Clothes, cash, drachmas to summon Hermes,".

I was glad we still had our own supplies because, of how he treated us before, I did not trust him one bit. And for some strange reason, I didn't want to peer inside what was in that bag. "I'd wish you luck, but what good would it do you?" he mocked unpleasantly.

"We're not gonna fail," Phoebe retorted. "Getting a bit tired of having to say that to you more than once,".

"Let me tell you something. Your dad had plenty of kids he stopped caring about once he lost interest,".

His taunting made me fume. "How dare you say that, especially to his daughter,". I stood in front of her. "Poseidon saved her life. Unlike you, he cares about other people. Especially his own daughter, which is more than I can say in regard to you and your kids. Like Clarisse, who, like you, thinks she's better than everyone else,".

Ares frowned at me. "You think just because you're blessed by Poseidon, you can act this way around gods? Well, guess what …" he leaned his face forward so I could see his dark eyes more closely. "You can't. Getting my shield back with help if I might remind from the sea girl and the wise girl, doesn't make you one of us. You will never be one of us,".

"I no longer care what you and others think of me, Ares,". I talked back confidently. "I see most gods like you exactly for they are,". He didn't talk back but he sneered at me for talking back at him like that.

"You may think you know us ….," Phoebe spoke up. Ares pulled his head back so he could see her. "But you don't,".

"Phoebe…" Grover gently interrupted.

She marched on her cousin. "And if you aren't careful enough, you're gonna find out very soon. Jason is one of us no matter what. And we all get to decide what kind of people we're going to be,".

"Phoebe," Grover begged. She couldn't risk a confrontation of blades with the god of war himself.

"So, thank you so much for the emotional abuse and the cheeseburgers and the ride but now we are wasting time talking to you, and we need to be on our way,". Cody saluted. He whistled, and Tuastos and Akeda emerged from the trees and he nuzzled their faces.

"If you're done with that animal cuteness, get into that lorry," Ares ordered. "The bear is not going,".

"She's coming," Cody defended. "No splitting up again,". "You go in first girl," he Tuastos to take a step in, but her behind got a bit stuck. Ares rolled his eyes, cast out a sword of gold and poked her. She squealed, and she squeezed in.

Akeda snarled and Ares screamed a bit. "Scared of the wolf?" Annabeth jeered. "Don't poke the bear,". Akeda snarled at Ares again and hopped inside. Then Grover stepped in. Then Annabeth. Then me. I turned back and offered my hand to Phoebe who climbed in.

"Can we have some towels please?" Grover begged. "It's really dirty in here,".

Ares clicked his fingers and his smirk was the last thing I saw. But was the smirk for? The only light inside our room was moonlight stretching through the open slots in the ceiling. Inside cover cages, we heard the sounds of wild animals from oinks to clucks. "Those poor animals," Cody sympathised.

Tuastos whimpered and so did Akeda. "I know guys Cody stroked his head whilst we stroked Tuastos's head. "Animals don't deserve to be in cages. It's why I don't like zoos and aquariums and farms,".

"At least we've got a straight ride to Las Vegas without getting caught by the police," Annabeth's attempts to keep our spirits up weren't that successful.

"Assuming Ares was telling the truth,". Said Phoebe sceptically.

"He wasn't," Grover spoke up suddenly. We stared at him.

"Wait? What?" I asked.

"Not entirely," Cody added in. I stared at him too.

"We know who stole the master bolt," Grover's answer made us raise our heads alarmingly. Before I could ask, the lorry bulled forward and we slipped off our feet. For a long while, the lorry carriage was shaking making it harder for us to find it easy to sit down. Eventually, it stopped shaking, meaning we were on the motorway road to Las Vegas.

We made ourselves comfy and pulled out blankets to sit on them in a circle. "How do you guys know who stole the bolt?" Phoebe asked.

"We got him talking because we suspected he was hiding something. And he was. He kept trying to drift us away from it,". Grover explained.

I figured the rest out. "Ares knew who the thief was but was trying to cover for them,".

"And who else would Ares cover than … ".

Annabeth finished Cody's sentence. "His favourite daughter,"

"Clarisse is the lightning thief?" I asked. I couldn't believe it.

"It makes sense why Ares would cover for her," Cody said.

"But that doesn't make any sense. Why would Clarisse want to start a war?" I wondered.

"Maybe to impress her father the god of war?" Phoebe wondered.

"No, there has to be more to it than that," I said. They stared at me like I was defending Clarisse. "I hate Clarisse. I truly do. But we don't know for certain if it was actually her. Ares could have been defending someone else. And we still don't know who would want to steal the lightning bolt after all this time?".

"I think Jason might be right," Phoebe spoke up. "Don't get me wrong. I hate Clarisse too. And I know she's a bully but I don't see how starting a war is something she'd want to do when it's the whole world that's at stake,".

"For now, we should just keep her up as our main suspect,". Cody said. "What happened at the park guys?".

"The same guy from the Arch captured Annabeth to try and make Jason hand himself over to her,". I told them. They were shocked.

"You should have seen what Phoebe did," Annabeth said. "She used water to strike them to give us a chance to escape. And then Hephaestus came and imprisoned them. until their leader escaped by disappearing,".

"He knew me," I said grimly. "And he was after my father's sword, which he claims was stolen,". I noticed Annabeth and Phoebe were exchanging nervous glances. "What is it?".

"Those men were from another world,".

" 'Another world'?" Grover repeated. "That's ridiculous,".

"They said they weren't like the mortals of this world,". Annabeth's words made me shudder. Did this mean I wasn't from Earth?

Akeda pawed at my hand, but I wouldn't respond. "Wait, are you saying that Jason is from another world?" Cody couldn't believe it.

"I don't want to think about it anymore, guy. The quest has to come first," I yawned. "We need to get some sleep now. We'll be in Vegas by tomorrow, and when we get there, we'll need to be ready,". We lay in a line against Tuastos under our blankets, dozing off at once. But I could tell by my loved ones' fretted faces that we would be talking about this again soon. But I didn't care about that. The only thing that mattered to me now was keeping everyone safe and ensuring we could get to Santa Monica and see Poseidon. I asked him everything about that man and where I came from.

I opened my eyes. I was in the sandy desert again. All alone. "Phoebe? Annabeth? Grover? Cody?". I was scared.

The cries of a baby rang in the air. I turned around and saw a cloaked being holding a bundle to his chest concealing a crying child.

"Such a precious child," a voice taunted. I turned around and saw the same spectral figure. "First, he loses his mother. And now he'll lose someone so precious to him,".

I gasped, waking up heavily. I was in the lorry again.

"Jason?" Phoebe's mumbled voice made me turn to her as she sat up. "Are you okay?".

I panted. "I don't think so,".

And that's Episode Five done. What did you all think of the guy who captured Jason? We still didn't get a name but has given a hint of where Jason comes from. Only three more episodes to go and then Season One is done. I will not be focusing on another story chapter. Please let me know what you all thought of this one. See you all later.
