Chapter 6: Date with Disaster
A few days later in the kitchen of Alfea, the Winx Club were all in the kitchen. Stella's not there for some odd reason while Flora and Tecna are arguing about what to cook for everyone in the school. Mabel was even wearing a light blue sweater with a burger on it with fries all over it for just the occasion. Musa, however, was not impressed with what she's seeing between her two friends. Flora and Tecna were arguing about what kind of food they wanted to prepare for the students and staff at their school. Bloom, Layla, and Dipper were staying out of this argument between the fairies of nature and technology, respectively.
"I told you Tecna, we need to prepare a salad bar for the school," Flora argued with Tecna, who was trying to hook up something to the counter. "So why in the name of Lymphia are you setting up a bunch of portable deep fryers?"
"And I told you, Flora," Tecna argued back with her, "We need to set up deep fryers for the potluck we're setting up. All the good Zenithan foods will be there, waiting to be digested by the students here." She said as she turns it on. Flora then guards the food from her tall and heavy friend, who wants to put them into her machines.
"Don't you dare, Tecna," Flora threatened her. "I don't care if your a princess or a cyborg, I'm not letting you ruin my salad bar with your disgusting eating habits."
Musa then sighs heavily, goes in between them and stops them from interacting by using her magic to keep them both apart. "Hold it, you two. We need to think of a meal that everyone will like. Something that can be enjoyed by everyone, even if you're a vegan," looks at Flora and then looks at Tecna. "Or a Cyborg." The both turn and cross their arms, obviously not ready to agree with each other. "So, what can we make for everyone?" Musa added on, wanting to help everyone while still being visibly pissed at her friend's arguments about their diets.
Mabel raises her hand, trying to get her friends and brother's attention. "I have an idea. Why don't we just magic up some food for everyone? I mean, what's the point of all this," She uses her magic to make some kitchen utensils float in the air behind her. "If we don't get to have some fun every now and then."
Dipper uses his magic to make all of the utensils go back to where they belong, keeping his sister from accidentally hurting anyone, especially himself. Even after being at Alfea for roughly 4 weeks now, he and his sister have gotten better and better with their newly discovered magical abilities. However, they still have a long way to go before they reach their full potential. He knows this and deep down, Mabel knows this as well. But Dipper knows that Mabel just wants to have some fun with her new magic, which he dosen't blame her for. Just as he was lost in thought, a grey haired, middle aged looking man with semi-pointy ears walked in, somehow overhearing everything Mabel said.
"Because," the newly arrived chef stated to the young Winx fairy, "When you do things with your own two hands, there's a lot more satisfaction to the meal." He looks around the room and sees the mess Flora and Tecna made with their fight. "It looks like we don't need any deep fryers or a salad bar after all, girls." Dipper hears this, and the chef finds himself on the receiving end of a stare from Dipper, who wants to be recognized as a guy, but a male fairy in his own right. "Whoops," The chef corrected himself, "Sorry about that, young... Dipper, was it?"
"Yeah, Dipper Pines," Dipper told the chef as respectfully as he could. "And the rest of us here is making sure that we don't let them both burn down the kitchen with their preferred diets."
"And between a moss-covered rock and a cyborg-enhanced hard place, it's tougher than you expect," Layla chimed in.
"Either way, you all have a lot of work to do to feed at least two hundred and fifty mouths here at Alfea," the chef told the seven of them.
"Yes Chef Igino," the Winx Club says to him, but the truth is that none of them don't want to cook tonight due to them having different plans that they want to get to. Flora wants to study for her potions class. Tecna wants to fix a couple of machines that's currently resting in her room. Musa didn't really have a plan besides being a rebellious teenager, blasting music from her speakers as she played the guitar. Dipper and Mabel still want to get into contact with Pacifica at Cloud Tower, and Bloom still wants to try to get a date with Brandon. Flora sees that the twins and Bloom don't know who exactly the chef is, and decides to fill them in.
"So," Flora began, "You three probably don't know who chef Solgea Igino is, being from Earth and all that. He's one of Solaria's greatest chefs, even serving under the Straffi royal family."
"He works with Stella's family?" Bloom asked Flora. Mabel was impressed that he knew Stella's family as Dipper writes down the notes in a mini pad of paper.
"Now, Tonight's meal should be roast prime beef with a side of bread in the traditional style of Solaria, salad, and potato wedges imported from Lymphia. And for dessert, Apple pie with apples straight from the Magix farmers market," The chef instructed to the fairies as he points to the ingreedents behind him.
Dipper heads over to the table and picks up a glowing blue apple and inspects it. "Are you sure these apples are safe to be consumed? They look radioactive."
Flora smiles, walks over, and picks it up by the stem. "Of course, Dipper. These are Glow Apples. Perfect for finding your way home in a pitch dark cave or a forest. And no, they're not radioactive so we're all safe."
"Was it the glowing of the apples that made you worried?" Musa said, semi-worried about Dipper and his naivety towards the concepts of the Magix alliance. He nods as Tecna assures him that it would be safe to eat.
"Enough lessons, it's time to cook," Chef Solgea announced to the group as they all headed to their workstations. Musa was on potato duty, Bloom and Tecna were trying to get the meat ready, Layla was currently preparing the bread, Flora was making sure the salads were in order and the twins got the job of making the apple pie while using their family's secret recipe that they memorized. While they began cooking the food for dinner, they noticed that a certain fairy of light was missing from the chores.
"Has anyone seen Princess Sunshine lately," Musa asked the group where Stella was. "She was supposed to show up about a half hour ago."
"Yeah," Flora added on. "Where is Stella? She's supposed to help us with dinner."
"This probably won't be helpful, but I did hear her ramble on about a date of some kind," Bloom chimed in. They hear tons of grumblings from Musa, Dipper, and Tecna while Mabel pouts.
"Stella's probably going on a date? I wanna help her," she whines to the rest of the group.
As they work, the head chef walks around the room and inspects the way the 7 Winx Club members are cooking the food, and he is less than impressed by their skills.
"No, no, not like that, like this! This is too hot, that is too cold," Chef Solgea moves between the group members, critiquing everything they did. As he moves away from Bloom, she turns to Dipper and Mabel with wide eyes and mouths 'Gordon Ramsay' to them.
Mabel had to shove her hand over her mouth to stop a laugh from escaping and drawing the chef's wrath. Dipper coulnt help but join her in muffled laughter. Flora gives Bloom a questioning look, having seen her mouth something to the twins, but not the context of what it was.
Bloom glances to check on the Chef's location before Musa leans over to Flora to whisper an explanation, but she's interrupted by Stella finally arriving.
"What up, yall? Guess who got a date tonight?" She announced to her friends.
"And there she is," Musa groaned.
"That's why you were late?" Bloom asked her. "Well, at least you're here now. Why don't you start making and preparing the bread with Laya for everyone? It was supposed to be your job, after all."
"We can worry about food later," Stella told her friends. "Right now, I sort of need help about what I'm about to wear to my date for the fabulous prince Sky Falchion." At this moment, the other fairies in the room could swear that there were hearts over Stella's head.
"I don't know if we should leave the food out like this," Dipper complained to the rest of the squad. "Plus with the oven on, what if we burn down the school and we get expelled, like what Stella did with the Potions lab?"
"That was ONE TIME, DIPPER!" Stella corrected Dipper but was laughed at by the entire club.
"Quit your worrying, you wet blanket. We'll only be gone for about 10 minutes, tops." Mabel said as she went over to him and patted his back. Not wanting to seem like a wet blanket, he sighs and goes with them back up to the dorm.
Back at the dorm, inside Bloom and Stella's room, they see Stella go through her massive walk-in closet, trying to find the perfect dress to wear for her date.
"Is this all yours?" Dipper asked Stella about her massive clothing collection.
"And I thought Pacifica's closet was big," Mabel added.
"Well you guys have never gotten to know a true princess before," Stella said, smiling as she started to look for the perfect dress. As soon as she saw one, she pulled it out and showed it to everyone. "What about this?" She said, showing them a pitch-black dress.
"Well," began Flora. "It does look a little on the gloomy side."
Stella looked back on the dress and said "You're right, it looks like I'm heading to a funeral." Stella puts the dress back, only to pull out a super colorful dress in return. "So what about this one?"
"OOH, I like that one!" Mabel said with wide eyes and a big smile.
"And where did you get that?" Bloom asked Stella as she wanted to know where she got that particular dress.
"I actually made this dress myself," She said with pride. "With a little help from Mabel."
"So you can arrive on your date as a clown?" Musa remarked at the stupid dress as Stella shot her a glare.
"Come on, Musa," Mabel told her. "We worked hard on that."
"Sorry. Force of habit," Musa apologized as she was forgiven by Stella and Mabel
"Who cares what you wear to the date," Dipper told them. "They'd still be with you even if you're wearing nothing but what you have on now, or maybe this thing." He then pulls out an orange dress for Stella as she squeals in delight.
"IT'S PERFECT!" She yelled out as she hugged Dipper. "THANK YOU SO MUCH!"
"Don't mention it?" Dipper questioned as he had no idea what he exactly did.
"What do you know? You do have an eye for some fashion after all," Layla praised her friend.
"Oh Stella," Bloom interjected, "Do you think Brandon will show up as well?"
"Like a double date?" Mabel added on, wanting to see where this goes.
"I believe so," Stella told them. "Brandon gave his squadmates the night off." Stella then leaned towards Dipper. "Even Wendy."
"Wait, Wendy's off tonight?" Dipper asked Stella. "You mean we could hang out and watch another bad movie?"
"I still can't believe Dipper managed to get someone as badass as Wendy as a girlfriend," Musa said with a hint of jealousy in her tone.
"If you want, Mabel and I could help you get you a girlfriend," Dipper offered Musa. "Perhaps even help you with a certain fairy of water?" Layla overhears this because since they met, she has had a crush on Musa, but did not know if she returned the feeling. But now she knows and won't let this chance slip through her fingers.
"That would be appreciated," Musa whispered to them.
"Now that I have the perfect dress, I need the perfect jewelry to go with it. Follow me, guys," Stella says as she leads them deeper into her closet as she shows them a treasure chest that's within the closet.
"Ooh, a pirate chest, " Mabel said excitedly. "I wonder what else is buried here."
"Don't tell me it's filled with your jewelry," Musa begged Stella.
"Of course it's jewelry. Where else do you expect me to put all of this?" Stella told them as she opened her jewelry chest to reveal a few billion dollars worth of gems, metals, necklaces, pearls, and more unique gems that Bloom and the twins had never seen before.
"Is this the same chest where you gave me that crown?" Dipper asked. "You still want it back?"
"Nah, you can keep it," Stella offered. "Silver and Sapphires arent exactly my combo of choice."
"WAIT, THAT'S MADE OUT OF SAPPHIRES AND SILVER?!" Dipper said as he was seriously considering pawning it, but won't. It makes him look like a badass prince.
"With this much jewelry, you can probably clear away the Earth's debt," Bloom told Stella as she looked at the contents inside the chest with awe.
"Yeah," She replied back, "But I like them just the way they are. And now I need to figure out what I'm going to be wearing for my date." Stella starts digging into the chest as she finds a beautiful diamond-encrusted pearl necklace. "Ah perfect." She puts it on as she shows herself in the mirror. "But the ring is a little too much." She takes off the ring and gives it to Bloom. "Here you go. Make sure it's safe."
"Wait, you're giving me the ring?" Bloom said with a shocked expression. "But it's the Staff of Solaria. You know, the very thing sought after by trolls, ogres, and even witches?"
"Sure the staff's awesome, but I'll be in the presence of a real prince tonight," Stella assured Bloom. "And maybe he'll sweep me off my feet with one of those Windrider bikes."
"But what if he's into a princess that can kick some booty?" Mabel questioned Stella's methods.
"Then I'll bring it for our second date, sweetie," Stella said with a smile.
"I don't know if I trust Sky enough for you to date him," Dipper said, concerned.
"I'm pretty sure Sky's not a stack of gnomes, a psycho albino, or a guy that makes out with his hands, bro-bro. He would have smelled funny if he was," Mabel assured his paranoid brother as she sniffed the air again. "Ugh and speaking of smell, something's on fire." As she said that, the entire group, minus Stella, realized what was burning.
"THE MEAL!" They all yelled as they practically ran out of the room, but Stella was trudging behind them due to her footwear.
"Dipper, do NOT say that you told us so," Musa warned him.
"Oh no fair, I have heels on," Stella told them as she was catching up. As they were running, Mabel split from the group as she grabbed a fire extinguisher-like device off the wall, but it was a little alien to her to know. The other six barged into the room, but Stella stayed outside so she can avoid smelling like smoke for the date.
"We made such a mess," Bloom told herself. "What would anyone say to us about this?" At that moment, the smoke in the room was suddenly transmuted into a freshly scented air that was easy on the ozone and perfect for the situation. The others turn around to see Griselda casting the spell, and she is not happy about the situation.
"Mess you say?" Griselda explained angrily. "I could think of a few words, my dear Bloom Peters." she walks by to see the other Winx in the room. "How about 'Disaster'? Or maybe 'Catastrophe'. Or perhaps I should even say this was a 'calamity'." She keeps walking past them as she sees someone missing. "And where exactly is Mabel? I'm sure she would have wanted to know she was one of the ones who caused the-"
As Griselda said that, Mabel kicked the door open with the fire extinguisher in hand and sprayed the entire room indiscriminately, "FFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE!" Mabel yelled at the top of her lungs, covering everyone she saw by mistake, but it was mostly Griselda who was covered in flame retardant. Musa was uncontrollably laughing at this. Stella, who hid behind the counter by instinct so she couldn't get covered, was snickering as well. Tecna was smiling, which is rare for a zenith of her scale while the other Winx members were laughing at this. Griselda, however, was not in the mood for any of the shenanigans as she used her magic to clean herself off and everyone else in the process.
"May I remind you all that dinner is an important meal and should not be delayed for anything," Griselda told them as she turned around and started to leave the room. "Do your best, fairies." With that, she left the room as the Winx club sighed and got back to work.
"What are the odds that she'll accept cold cereal for dinner?" Bloom asked her squad, hopefully wanting to get over her duties.
Roughly forty-five minutes later, 7 of the 8 roommates return to the room and they are all exhausted. Stella already bailed on them the moment the place was cleaned up with her date with Sky, leaving the rest of the club to pick up the pace.
"I don't know if I should even eat now," Flora told her friends as Tecna went into the kitchen.
"I'll just make sure to eat enough for all of us," Tenca told her happily.
"Of course you would, Tec," Musa told herself as she lay on the couch. "But man, Stella had the right idea."
"Hoarding gold like a dragon?" Dipper remarked, still curious about how much gold she had in her chest, probably calculating how much money she had.
"That too, but I mean going out," Musa corrected him. "We should have seen a movie, had someone else make dinner for us, or just palled around, but nope. Instead, we get stuck with dinner duty."
"Do you think anyone would even ask us out?" Bloom curiously asked her friends.
"Well, Timmy, Helia, and Wendy would ask three of us out," Dioper said, gesturing to Flora and Tecna. "Sky too since he's with Stella at this moment."
"I do not wish to go out, but I would not mind staying in with Timmy to finish some projects of mine," Tecna told them honestly, chowing down on what appeared to be a Triple Decker cheeseburger. Flora took one good look at it and the grease, condiments, and an off-world pickle chip dripping from it and nearly fainted on sight. Kiko then gently tucked her in with a fluffy blanket Mabel brought from Earth.
"Oh come on, Tec, it'll be fun to go out and try foods from different planets," Bloom told her.
"Heck, even my pen-pal Roxy said she tried new foods at the huge potluck she had a few years back," Mabel added.
"Oh yea, her," Dipper told himself, remembering Mabel's pen-pal. "The awesome four friends."
"Me, Roxy, Luz, and Anne," Mabel listed off. "I wonder if they're all doing ok."
"I wonder if her Roxy is the same as my Roxy?" Bloom thought to herself.
"I would not mind trying new foods," Tecna admitted. "Especially with what you say on what Earth foods are like."
Layla added "Yea, maybe you can bring Timmy with you. He seems like a smart specialist."
Around the crack of dawn the next day, the entire dormitory was awoken by the loud crashing noises. One by one, everyone got up out of their beds and they were not in the mood for whatever was happening around 7:20 in the morning. Tecna got out of her room as she was only wearing a white undershirt and a purple pair of sweatpants, but had some circuits and metal plating showing on her left arm and parts of her neck.
"Ugh, what's with the racket?" Tecna asked the others in the room.
Mabel, still half asleep in her long-sleeved floppy disk shirt and her hair being a mess, said "Whatever it is, it ruined my amazing dream I had that involved my Earth friend Alya."
"It's coming from Bloom and Stella's room," Layla told everyone as they all knocked on Stella's door. "Stella, it's us. We just want to make sure everything is OK in there." As they knocked on the door, the door slowly opened as it showed Stella, oddly dressed for the day, in the middle of a huge mess in her own room. Clothes were piled up everywhere and were either balled up or torn to shreds. Her jewelry shared the same fate, but this time, even the gems and pearls were torn apart, almost as if so Stella was looking for something important. Bloom was hiding in her bed because of her newly erratic behavior.
"Oh hey girls," Stella told them with a hint of fear in her voice. "What's good in the hood?"
"What Dragon-awful reason do you have for making this much noise so early in the morning, Stella?" Musa, who's still half asleep, wearing comfy clothes and frizzled pigtails, asked Stella.
"N-no reason, girls. But I think you should try going back to be-" Stella tried explaining herself, but was interrupted when all the bedroom alarms went off in each of the different rooms.
"Too late for that now, Stella," Bloom told her.
"Wait, when did you come back in last night?" Dipper asked her, curious.
"Dipper's right, Stella. How did your date with Sky the fabulous specialist go last night?" Mabel asks, wanting to know if theirs a chance for a second date for the princess of Solaria.
"It was fine, alright? What were you expecting, for me to take him out behind a dumpster and-" Stella annoyingly tried explaining to them.
"STELLA STRAFFI, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! WE AGREED NOTHING LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF THE TWINS!" Bloom interrupted, yelling at Stella. Musa used her sound magic to temporarily block the profane language Stella just said for the twins.
"NOTHING, YOU PRIMITIVE HUMAN!" She roared at her and barged out of the room.
"Humans aren't that primitive, are we?" Mabel asked herself.
"Well, we don't have space travel, nor do we have any special genetic traits, unlike a Lymphian's regeneration, an Androsian's underwater skills, or a Melodian's eardrums. So I guess she was right, we humans are primitive," Dipper answered her question. "But there's no excuse in what she just told Bloom."
"He's right," Musa said, agreeing with him, "We got to find out why she's acting like a bitch." And at that moment, they were checking the time and were panicking.
"Right after today's lessons," Bloom told the group.
During the day, the Winx kept their eyes open for Stella. In potions class with DuFour, She wasn't there. In magical combat training with Griselda, in which Dipper was struggling due to his noodle arms, but was pretty great at flying, Stella did not show up. Heck, she didn't show up for the last (and favorite) class of the day: Metamorphosis with Professor Wizgiz. Inside the classroom, All the desks were filled up (except Stella's) as their heads were all magically turned to pumpkins and their hair into vines. Minus Dipper and Mabel, they had their heads turned into watermelons with the same faces, simular to that of summerween back at Gravity Falls.
"now class. I believe dat's all de time we 'ave fahr tahday," He said, surprised at the time from his golden pocket watch. "To toehrn back, joehst cast de reverse spell: retoehrnoehs poehmpkoehs." He said as he reversed the spell from his own head. And all at once, the classmates turned back as they all packed up. Soon, they were trying to leave as Wizgiz saw his attendance sheet. "ahh, mess Peters, a wahrd wit you and yooehr friends, please."
Bloom, surprised by this, replies with "Of course, Professor," and stops the Winx from leaving to see what he wants. "Is it about our grades?"
"It's nahthin to wahrry abooeht, bloom," Wizgiz told her and the other Winx. "'eck, you and yooehr friends are doin joehst fine. Boeht i'm mahre cwancerned abooeht prencess Stella. She 'asn't shown oehp tahday and dis is 'er favahred class, and she 'as an a so far."
"Oh, Stella?" Musa began. "She's been super moody today. Heck, She hasn't even shown up to her other classes. She just insulted Bloom and the twins about being human this morning and just stormed off like an angry little goblin"
"strange, ain't it?" Wizgiz thought it through. "well try to fend 'er and fend ooeht what 'appened. after all, i ahnly allow one week's wahrth o' absensences befahre it affects yooehr grade." He told them as he waved them off.
"Yeah, what did happen to her today?" Dipper asked them.
"I don't know, bro. But I think it might have something to do with that Sky guy," Mabel told him. "And trust me, I can tell who's a bad boyfriend or not."
"How can you tell?" Bloom asked, curiously.
"This was the girl whose first boyfriend was a colony of gnomes," Dipper told them. "She also dated an albino pseudo-psychic, a merman, and even a guy who made out with his hands."
"Oh yea, Mabel showed me a pic of Mermando", Layla chimed in. "Not an Androsian merman like my cousins, the twin princes Nerus and Tritanius Aquarius, though. But honestly, you can do better."
"I know. Even though he was a great guy, I do believe there's plenty of 'fish in the sea'," Mabel said as Layla could only smile at Mabel.
The other Winx groaned at her poorly made pun as they walked into their dorm room and saw that it was completely trashed. Kiko was hiding under a pillow, scared at what Stella was doing at this exact moment.
"Oh don't tell me…" Flora gasped as she rushed into Stella's room and found that even her room was trashed. "Stella's gone and she completely destroyed the place"
Tecna charged Into her room and saw that her tech and her mini-fridge were open and all over the place. Same with the other rooms, but luckily, not any of their stuff was gone.
"Well the good news is that nothing doesn't seem missing," Dipper announced from his room.
"Is it because I forgot to give her back her ring?" Bloom said, feeling kind of guilty.
"That's exactly right, Bloomington!" Stella yelled as she seemingly appeared from behind the window curtain, now with a sinister look in her eyes.
"Why are you so obsessed with the ring, Stella? I know royals like to hoard treasures for themselves, but this is ridiculous," Musa yelled at her.
"I think this might be because of how it's being targeted for theft," Bloom reminded them all.
"Please, Stella, think of your friends," Mabel pleaded with her.
"Please, Human, did you really plead for me, the princess of Solaria, to think about the friendships of low-life commoners like yourself?" She spat at them, inching near the window. "And once my daddy hears about this, it's off with all of your heads." She then fell backward as the others rushed to see her, but then found out she mysteriously teleported away.
"She's gone..." Flora whimpered to herself as she was about to cry.
"Why is she even talking like that anyway," Tecna wondered to herself.
"Whatever it is, we got to calm her down before she gets arrested by the Magix police force," Musa told them. "And you do NOT want to end up at the Lake Roccaluace rehab center."
"Is that like Saint Olga's School for wayward princesses?" Dipper asked Musa.
"It's worse, dude. It's so much worse," Musa assured him, not asking him how he even knew the name St. Olga's.
"Then we got to stop her," Bloom announced. "If she gets arrested, we might never see her again. And she's our friend, we can't leave her be like this. But where would we even start to look for her?"
"Well…" Dipper began, thinking and pacing in the room. "She said she was on a date with Sky last night, so why don't we visit the Prince a little unexpected visit?"
"YEAH!" Mabel shouted. "The mystery twins are back in action." Said the hyperactive twin as she pulled her brother in for a bit of a side hug. "Featuring our five current badass fairy companions, of course."
"Well, it's settled, Winx, we're heading to Red Fountain for a visit," Bloom announced to her friends, as the others agreed to her as they set off to the bus stop in front of the gates of Alfea.
Roughly a half an hour later, the 7 friends arrived outside of a red-looking castle-like school, complete with what appears to be a ship hanger, which is closing up for the night, a bunch of dragons roaming the fields with specialists on top of their backs, and more specialists training in the courtyard where they see an older gentleman with slightly pointed ears, a burly body, a black beard and a head of black hair on top of his head with a widow's peak, and holding a dark blue phantom blade buster sword outward while he's training the new students, watching them with his slightly more glinted eyes.
"So this is Red Fountain," Mabel asked herself. "Glad mom and dad didn't send Dipper here. He wouldn't last a day."
"He honestly wouldn't," Musa harshly told him but then smiled and raised his spirits. "He's better off as a fairy like us than a specialist like them."
"Especially the fact that male fairies are hard to come by at Alfea," Tecna added. "Seriously, Dipping Sauce, you're pretty much a unicorn by Earth standards here."
"Let's not overload him now, girls," Bloom told them. "You're embarrassing him."
"She's right," Flora added on. "And besides, you and the twins have really grown since your first day at Alfea. Heck, you guys can even ace the midterms by the winter solstice."
As they were walking, they soon saw Prince Sky, leaning on a bench, chatting it up with Riven and Wendy, as Riven nudges him. "Dude," he began, "I think they might be here for you."
Sky wondered what he meant by that as he saw that it was Stella's friends from Alfea as they walked up to them.
"Hey Sky," Bloom waved at him. "Can we talk for a minute?"
"Oh yeah, sure," Sky said, smiling at them as she noticed someone missing. "But wait, where's Stella?"
"Actually, we're here to talk to you about her," Flora said, looking a bit distressed.
"She's been ackin cray-cray since last night," Mabel started to explain the situation to him.
"You were on a date with her around that time," Dipper added as he got a hypothesis. "Oh no... you didn't take any drugs with her, did you?" Riven chuckled a bit with what he said.
"Please, Sky's a square. He'd never do something as cool as drugs," Riven said while taunting him.
"Besides, I didn't even leave Red Fountain last night," Sky added. "Last night, I accidentally spilled my dinner all over Professor Coradonta, who's headmaster Salidan's right-hand man, and he punished me by making me and my entire squad exercise until we all passed out. Even Wendy was not immune to the punishment."
"We had to do so many pushups, even my biceps were acting up," Wendy added on. "Timmy's arm had to be repaired because of it,
"Poor Timmy, and The poor food," Tecna whispered, worried about both of those things.
"That's an unlikely story, coming from a prince," Dipper said. "While I trust Wendy with my life, do you have anyone who can back up your claim?" At that exact moment, a burly gruff man with dark brown hair walked in, with eyes that showcased he's been in many, many fights over his lifetime. He was wearing a sleeveless blue shirt to match, and combat boots on his feet.
"How about the professor this boy spilled the food on?" He asked as both Sky and Riven jumped back in shock.
"Professor Coradonta," Sky said as he and Riven saluted him as the professor raised his hand slightly. Wendy, however, did not salute at her, maintaining her stance against authority, but instead waved at her.
"At ease, Specialists," He told them. "So what brings you fairies here to Red Fountain?"
"Long story short, professor, but our roommate, Princess Stella Straffi of Solaria, went on a date with Sky here and when she came back the next morning, she was acting really crazy," Bloom explained.
"Sky did no such thing," Coradonta responded.
"We do have a note from him," Dipper said as he pulled out a letter from his pocket and handed it to the easily 6'6 man. Coradonta reads it and laughs from the bottom of his stomach.
"I don't see why this is funny," Bloom asked of him as Coradonta calmed down.
"If you guys looked at this letter a little better, you could easily see this was magically fabricated," Coradonta explained. "You just got to see the traces of magic stored within the words." He then hands it back to Dipper as he sees it.
"Hey yeah, you're right," Dipper says as Bloom takes a look at it as well.
"So Stella was lured away?" Bloom asked.
"That, I do not know," Coradonta said as a Golden Retriever wearing a specialist uniform ran to the group, barking happily as Mabel squealed.
"A DOGGY!" She happily said as she hugged her and the dog barked back, licking her cheek. "Who's a good girl? Yes, you are."
"Looks like Lady likes you," Sky said as he petted her fur.
"I didn't know you could bring pets here," Bloom said, surprised while trying to hide the fact Kiko's still in the Winx's shared dorm room, probably nibbling on one of Flora's plants yet again.
At that moment, Coradonta looked up at a clock and was surprised at the time.
"Well, look at the time," Coradonta said as he pulled out a whistle and blew on it, causing everyone around him to cover their ears and for Lady to whimper because of it. "ALRIGHT SPECALSITS, THAT'S A WRAP ON TODAY'S LESSONS!" He announced to the students as they stopped sparing and started heading inside.
"Finally," Riven sighed as he quickly went inside.
"Let me know if you find Stella for me, girls. And let her know that I promise to give her a proper date this weekend," Sky said as he bowed to them to say goodbye. "Come on, Lady, you must be parched." Lady barks as she hurries inside with Sky.
"By Lady, By Sky," Mabel waved to them as they saw them heading in.
"So where do we have to now?" Flora asked as Bloom got an idea.
"Why don't we head to Magix City? And if we hurry, we can just take the bus to head there," Bloom suggested as the others seemed to agree with her.
As the bus pulled away from the bus station in Magix City, the 7 Winx fairies looked into the distance as Mabel was the first to speak.
"This city's huge," Mabel complained as she waved her arms around.
"It's pretty much the size of New York City. How will we ever find her?" Dipper added on, thinking about why they headed there in the first place.
"Stella did say she was heading to the Black Lagoon dance club," Bloom thought to herself. "She told me this last night before she went on her 'date'."
At that moment, Tecna opened up a panel on her arm to showcase some sort of touch screen as she typed in the name of the dance club, but no results showed up.
"That's strange," She says as a hologram appears from it. "There are no results for it anywhere in Magix City."
"That's impossible," Bloom said as she looked at it as she begins to look confident. "Well, if technology fails us, Then let's try to search for her my way."
"Your way?" Tecna said. "Is this what you call the Earth way?"
At that moment, Bloom started to ask around the people who were walking by as the other Winx joined her. Some of these people brushed them off while others had no idea what they were talking about. And after a half-hour later, the 7 of them were exhausted.
"I don't understand," Dipper asked. "This city's huge. A place called Black Lagoon should exist in a city this huge."
"Maybe she said the name wrong, like Black Clover?" Mabel suggested.
"No, she did say Black Lagoon," Bloom said, correcting them as she tried to think back on what else could help them out.
"You think we should head back to Alfea to ask Miss Griselda for help," Flora asked, also worried about their missing friend.
"We can't just give up already," Bloom said, trying to keep her new friends together. "Stella's counting on us to find out what's going on."
"But we can't find out how to find her, and your perseverance isn't exactly helping out," Tecna said, looking a bit angry at Bloom.
"Well, neither are your worthless do-dads," Bloom snapped back. The rest of the club was ready to split these two if things got physical.
"Come on, guys, this is not the time to fight against one another," Layla said, getting between them.
"Yea, save that shit for the kidnappers," Musa added. Layla and Musa were right. This was not the time to fight each other when there was a threat out there holding one of their dear friends hostage.
"E-excuse me, but did you say you were looking for the Black Lagoon dance club?" A mysterious voice said. As the Winx turned to face him as he was wearing a mysterious brown cloak that covered his face. "I know where to find it."
"You do? That's great!" Dipper pipped up, excited that the group had a lead.
"Can you tell us where it is?" Musa asked him.
"Oh pretty please with a cherry on top?" Mabel added on while using those puppy dog eyes.
"Why certainly," the strange man said. "Just when you get to the edge of town, there's a road that leads to a hut. It's past a large oak tree and the club is on the bottom floor."
"Well, that's where we're going," Dipper said as he wrote down the information on his notepad. "Let's go find Stella!" As Dipper turns to face the man, he finds that he has disappeared. "That's weird..."
"Should we really be following the directions of a weird guy in a cloak?" Bloom asked Dipper.
"No, but it's all we have to go by," Dipper informed Bloom. "And I, for one, am not willing to let the kidnappers do anything harmful to Stella."
"Yeah, and if things go sideways, then we have fairy magic to rely on to kick that strange man's butt!" Mabel said as she tried raising the group's spirits. The others like the synergy that Dipper and Mabel had going on, understanding now why they're sometimes referred to as 'The Mystery Twins'.
A short walk later, the Winx Club arrived at a broken-down shack just outside the city.
"'Just outside the edge of town, there's a road that leads to a hut. It's past a large oak tree and the club is on the bottom floor.'," Dipper reread the note from the strange man. "This must be the place."
"Oak tree and everything," Flora said, inspecting the tree.
"Which makes this run-down shack... the black lagoon?" Layla said as she inspected the place. "This can't be right, can it?"
"If we know Stella, and of course we know Stella, then she wouldn't go anywhere near a shack like this," Mabel said, inspecting the place. "She likes flashy new things with style and pizazz."
"Wait a minute... I can't feel the tree," Flora said as she inspected it with her magic. "Oh crap, it's an illusion. IT'S A TRAP!" As she said that, the tree and the shack faded away as Stella was standing where the shack used to be and snickered. The strange man stands next to her, almost as if they were working together.
"And now you all finally get it," Stella said as she laughed. "NOW GIVE ME BACK MY RING!"
"Stella, please. This isn't like you," Bloom pleaded as Dipper chuckled and stepped forward.
"You're right, Bloom, because that isn't Stella," Dipper said as he dramatically pointed at Stella. "That woman, in actuality, IS AN IMPOSTER!"
Everyone, except for Mabel, gasped at this sudden revelation. "And how do you know such a thing?" 'Stella' said, wanting to know the truth.
"Because the fake Stella in front of me is actually the Witch of Darkness: DARCY VOID OF THE TRIX!" Dipper declared.
"The Trix?" Layla questioned.
"It was kind of obvious," Mabel said. "Who else would be so hellbent on the ring?"
"Plus, you always mess up the eye color. It's emerald green, not sapphire blue or amber gold," Dipper also noted as 'Stella' started to clap her hands.
"Well played, worthy rival," 'Stella' said as she shifted back to her true form, Darcy. "But your trail for the truth ends here!" Darcy said as she snapped her glowing fingers as the strange man revealed his true form of Knut, while Icy, Stormy, and Pacifica appeared from the shadows, with Stella who was in makeshift handcuffs.
"Sorry, girls," the real Stella said after seeing her friends. "I got carried away."
"Darcy, you know better than to hide the truth from Dipper," Pacifica pointed out.
"I thought I could do it this time," Darcy said as she pouted. "Unlike the chess tournament."
"Now, Winx, Here's what I will offer," Icy said as she brought Stella up. "Give us the ring, and we return Stella unharmed."
The Winx Club stopped right there and all huddled up, trying to divide a plan of action.
"What do we do now?" Flora asked.
"It's simple," Bloom explained. "We give the ring to them."
"What?" Musa asked. "That's blackmail, Bloom."
"And we don't give in to blackmailers," Flora added.
"Let's just rush them and beat them down," Tecna suggested. "I call dibs on the ogre."
"What? We can't just do that. What if Stella gets hurt in all that," Dipper suggested.
"A ring is a ring," Mabel said, agreeing with Bloom. "But there's only one Stella, and I don't want to lose her."
"Exactly," Bloom said as the huddle breaks. "Ok, Icy. You win." Bloom said as she took off the ring on her finger. "We'll keep our promise, and you keep yours."
"Of course, of course," Icy said, smirking. "Witches honor."
"Yeah, like that exists," Musa whispered to herself.
Bloom then walks up to Icy and gives her the ring. She seems to be super happy with what's happening.
"Yes YES! THE STAFF OF SOLARIA IS FINALLY OURS!" Icy laughed as she looked at Stella and Pacifica. "You can go ahead and free her."
"Ugh, finally," Stella said as Pacifica freed her from the handcuffs. "Can't say that was fun. Later!" Stella said as she immediately ran over to Bloom and gave her a hug. "What in the name of Omega was that, bestie."
"A wise sweater girl once said that 'a ring is a ring, but there's only one Stella'," Bloom quoted Mabel from the huddle earlier. She can't exactly fault Bloom because no matter how powerful and beautiful her ring was, the lives of her friends were much more precious. As the two of them walked back to their group, icy held up her hand and charged up a blast to them from behind their backs. Before she could cast the spell, the same handcuffs were slapped on that wrist and forced it to fire at a tree nearby. Everyone around her saw that Pacifica was the one that stopped this from happening.
"Witches honor, remember?" Pacifica reminded them as Icy was pissed at her for a few seconds, but remembered that it was Pacifica that stopped her from making a mistake as her eyes went back to a mix of sorrow and regret.
"Fine... Trix, and ogre, we're heading out!" Icy said as the Trix with Knut left the area in a mysterious way.
"At least Pacifica has honor among the witches," Stella said as the Winx started to head back to Alfea.
As it was getting close to curfew, the Winx decided to take to the skies in their fairy forms back to Alfea, still sore that they lost the ring.
"Damnit all, I can't believe they tricked us like that," Musa said as she cured herself.
"At least Stella's safe," Mabel said as she flew near her.
"I don't know what to even do now," Stella said as she looked at her hand.
"We'll figure something out, Stella," Bloom said as she flew to her. "And we'll do it together, as the 8 of us."
"We need to be smart, strong, clever, and magically ready for it, too," Dipper listed off. "Even if it means breaking into Cloud Tower and doing it ourselves."
"When did you become such a risk-taker," Layla asked him.
"I've always taken risks to find out the truth, and this here is no different," Dipper exclaimed.
"Yeah," Bloom backed him up. "They might have scored a goal, but the game isn't over yet."
Stella, Flora, Layla, and Tecna had no idea what she just said.
"Uh, Bloom?" Musa said to Bloom. "They don't know what soccer is, so they can't quite get this quote."
"Oh right!" Bloom reminded herself of it. "Well, it's a game we have on Earth, called Soccer. It's where you sock the ball around with kicks and such."
"That actually sounds like fun," Layla said.
"It sounds like it could be a good workout," Tecna added.
"And look, there's still some light out, so we can try playing it at Alfea before we have to go to bed," Mabel pointed as they all agreed to try it together.
