A/N: I have changed the rating from T to M. I'm sure you can guess why :)

"In regards to your text, I have a few questions, Mr Haddock."

"Call me Henry. I'm sure things would get confusing for both of us, otherwise."

"Alright, Henry. What is your reason for filing litigation against the daughter of the mayor of Bog Burglar Isle? More to the point, why now? From what I've gathered from your text, you and she interacted in the past, broke apart and avoided each other or otherwise stayed separate. That was ten years ago, was it not?"

"It was, yes. I want a restraining order filed as Cami has made contact and I want nothing to do with her. Out of sight, out of mind."

"Alright. I shall investigate the matter and file a restraining order on your behalf."

When Hiccup opened the door, Astrid assumed he would be wearing casual clothes. He was not. Instead, he had on a black suit and tie.

Her lips parted in surprise and she stood there, speechless. But only for a moment and he too was staring at her. "Wow, I didn't think you'd take this seriously."

She blinked out of her stupor and swallowed, seeing him in a new light all of a sudden.

Damn, he looks nice.

"Likewise. I feel like I should emphasise the fact that that's a nice suit. May I come in?"

Hiccup stepped aside with a nod and a welcoming smile; the latter of which seemed foreign on his face, particularly in her presence. "Of course. Nice hair. I think this is the first time you've worn braids like that, but they suit you. Loving that red dress as well."

She smiled. "Thanks. So uh, you got anything set up for this date?"

He smiled. "Yep. This way."

He turned away and Astrid fell into step with him, linking her arm in his as they walked.

Now, Astrid didn't think she had ever seen him wear a suit. Their high school prom might've been the one time he would've worn such a thing but he didn't show up—neither he nor his friend, Fishlegs. Then, naturally, she didn't see either for years.

Come to think of it, she still hadn't seen Fishlegs since High School.

Well, why don't I ask Hiccup about him? "Hey, Hiccup?"

He glanced at her. "Yes?"

"What happened to Fishlegs? Do you know, or did you two grow apart?"

He stopped walking before replying, and she found they were outside his kitchen. "He's on tour with Snotlout and some other friends of mine. Soon to be sent back though, so if you're so curious, you'll see him around eventually."

She shook her head. "Wasn't that curious, but thanks for letting me know. So, what's cooking? Whatever it is, it smells delicious."

"That'll be the macaroni and cheese. Finn tells me it's your favourite."

"When did he tell you that? He's right of course, but I didn't think he would just tell you. So he knows we're going on a date then?"

"Yeah. Should probably have mentioned that sooner, right?"

"I'll allow it. Let's go eat."

Now sitting at the table with a plate of mac & cheese each, Hiccup saw fit to inquire about a particular topic.

"Why did you choose to become a physical therapist? Childhood dream job?"

"Eh, not quite. I've wanted to be one for a while, but it was really because of my Uncle. When he got injured, he was stuck in a wheelchair for a number of years. Then he became able to walk with a cane. Now you can barely tell he was injured. I loved that. That someone could help him walk again. I got to meet his physical therapist - Gothi, who you've met - and the rest is as they say, history."

"That's awesome. Wish I had someone to inspire me to work in some job like Gothi did for you."

"Stoick not do that for you?"

"He wanted me to one day become mayor, but that's not me. I wouldn't want to be in charge of the people that let a bunch of twats bully someone for something as small as hiccuping one day, and continue far beyond that," he paused, stabbing his fork into a few pieces of pasta, then continued. "The rest is as they say, history."

"Wow. Well, I admit I was curious why the bullying started, or why exactly they called you that. Just another reason to hate Snotlout I guess. We're three for three now. Um, so with that said, what's your real name?"

Hiccup's mouth, previously a firm line, curled up at the corners. "You forget from the registers in High School? It's Henry. Henry Horrendous Haddock the Third. Is your name any different?"

"Astrid Freya Hofferson."

"Freya?"

"Yeah," Astrid shrugged. "My mum liked the name I guess. Most people don't know I have a middle name though. In fact, besides my family and Heather, you're the only one."

"Well I like the name. It seems very… you. Like that braid you usually wear."

Astrid smiled. "Charmer. I think you need to work on your compliments a little bit."

"Well I'm sorry. It's not like I've had lots of practice with women."

"What if I…" Astrid blushed. "What if I could help with that, in a manner of speaking?"

"What do you mean?"

Sometime later, in bed, with Astrid on his lap and just as naked as he, her earlier meaning had become quite clear. "So this is what you meant. Smooth, Hofferson. Real subtle attempt to get into my pants."

She blushed, even as she smiled. "Shut up. It's not like you minded."

It was his turn to blush. "Want to go another round or three?"

"Definitely. Show me what you got, Haddock."

Astrid was woken up by something tugging at her hair.

Groaning, she popped an eye open. "Hiccup. What are you doing?"

"Braiding my girlfriend's hair."

"That's 'new girlfriend' to you. And did you have to do it this early?"

"It's 7:30. This is the latest I've woken up in a decade. Perks of life as a soldier."

"Well it's early for me. Please don't do this again tomorrow."

"Yes ma'am… and done. Do you want to see?"

"Yeah, I'll take a look in the mirror. Gotta pee anyway, be right back."

Hiccup nodded, then moved aside so she could stand up. And so she left the room without a stitch of clothing.

"Nice view, babe!" he called after her.

"I'll bet it is!" came her reply, to which Hiccup laughed, then rose to don his uniform.

If my teenage self could see this far into the future, he would probably faint. "You got Astrid agree to go on a date, have sex with you and become your girlfriend? Wow!"

Hiccup chuckled to himself, then søbred up and finished dressing just as Astrid returned.

"Aww man, I hoped you'd still be in bed so I could watch you get dressed."

"You'll get plenty of chances to see me getting undressed in the future, I'm sure, How'd you like the hair?"

"It was good; about as good as can be expected when you braid 'bed hair'."

"Semantics. Before I go, there's something important I need to do."

"What is that?"

"This," Hiccup stepped closer and kissed her. It was the passionate sort, with tongue involved, and because it was unexpected, it left Astrid dazed and weak in the knees.

Naturally, Hiccup was long gone by the time she regained her senses, so she opted to sit down at the foot of the bed. She sat there in silence for quite a few minutes, her feet moving back and forth on the floor until her phone vibrated, the sound only audible because the room was silent.

Getting up and searching for it, she picked it up, then unlocked the device to see a text from Hiccup.

So, how was the kiss out of ten?

She smiled. Ten for the technique, but I have to deduct points because it was so short. 1/10. Don't leave so quickly next time, babe.
