"...this series of events that resulted in our sister's injury. Thanks to the prompt intervention of our only male fraternal unit, said injury did not end being more serious, even life threatening I might say. What is yet to be seen is the time it will take to completely heal.

With fancy words as always, Lisa explained her jock sister's accident in a more detailed way. She and Lincoln agreed to hide the true cause of her broken leg, attributing her trip to the hospital to a fall off the stairs.

"I'm glad to hear she's ok," Lori commented. "But where is Lincoln?"

This was something that not only the older of the Loud marriage offspring wanted to know Everyone, from the little Lily to Leni wanted to be informed about the whereabouts of their only brother.

"I was informed he's keeping her company in the hospital." Lisa spoke with indifference in her voice. Like a switch flipping inside her head, she remembered she wanted to be more expressive, and come out of her shell to become a better person. With a smile, she added "I personally believe he's the indicated person for this job"

Knowing that Lynn was in good hands relieved the tension some of them felt. Along the day, Lynn received visits after visit, from her family, her friends and the people she had known from the clubs she had joined throughout her life. Needless to say, she had a lot of people coming to see her. The doctor said it'd take a long time for her leg to fully recover, and Lincoln had spent the next couple of weeks making sure she was ok.

One sister, however, was not happy with his absence. Lola now had nobody who'd be willing to play with her. And though she was angry that she didn't have the attention she was so used to, she realized the mistakes she was commiting by thinking that way, especially when she talked about it with her other sisters.

Currently she was explaining to Lana how upsetting it was that Lynn was taking him for herself. Her twin, sick of her complaining and her lack of sensibility, had enough of it and called her out.

"That's enough, Lola!" she yelled at her, taking the pink dressed blonde aback. "It's been only two weeks since he started visiting our sister in the hospital! Haven't you stopped to think that Lynn needs him more than you? If you're gonna keep complaining then go somewhere else, I'm sick of hearing it."

Lola looked down with guilt. Truth was that she had never thought about it that way. Maybe it was time to stop and realize her brother was not going to be always there for her, that her other sisters might need him too.

But her foolish pride wouldn't let her step back. She looked angrily at her twin and yelled as well.

"Fine!," she spat back. "But don't ask me for anything ever again!"

With that, she angrily stomped her way out of the room. Opening the door, she walked straight towards the stairs, but something, or someone, better said, got in her way and caused her to crash, sending her to the floor.

"Ups,sorry Lola didn't see ya," Luan said ,extending her hand and helping her sister to get up. "It's hard to see with this thing stuck…" she said. Lola realized she was having problems taking the cover off from the lens of her camera.

Luan stopped for a minute and glanced at her little sister, noticing the anger in her expressions. She put a comforting hand on her shoulder and put on a smile on her face.

"What's the matter, Lols? Why the long face?" she asked.

"Lincoln hasn't come yet, and nobody else is good enough to be my servant."

Upon hearing her words, the warm smile on her face began to fade. Soon it turned into a face of seriousness.

"Is that how you see Lincoln? Actually, is that how you see us all? As servants?"

"W-what? No, it's just that…"

"Don't try to excuse yourself," Luan interrupted. "Lincoln is not a toy you can use whenever you feel like. He does not belong to you, or me, or anybody else, you hear me?" Luan's voice, usually happy and sometimes sarcastic, now had a small tint of deception. Only a few times she had witnessed her comedian sister get that serious outside their usual sibling arguments. "I don't deny we all want him to spend time with us, but it does not mean you will have it all the time or whenever you want. If you want somebody to play with so badly, then go ask someone else."

Luan walked away and resumed what she was doing. Lola stood there, thinking about the point of view her sister just planted inside her mind. The mere fact of angering Luan was one of the reasons that made her regret her lack of tact choosing her words. She also regretted the way she thought about her brother, after all he was just that, her brother, and not a servant.

A few days passed, and the princess thought about what Lincoln would do in her place. She didn't feel comfortable with that feeling of guilt poking her constantly like a splinter in a fingertip. She had to make something, and luckily she had an idea.

It took her a couple of days, but finally came with something she was sure would make it up to him. In her hands was a small figure of a samurai, with armor and sword. Satisfied with her job, she was confident Lincoln would like it, she just needed a piece of fabric for the hat and it would be finished.

Coming out of her room, she walked towards Lori and Leni's room; the latter was a designer, it was obvious she had plenty of fabric in there.

Opening the door she spotted her older sister in front of the mirror modeling a brand new pair of shoes. Lola approached her, and made the pertinent question.

"Hey Lori, do you have any…"

Not even letting her finish the question, Lori replied.

"No Lola, I don't have money." She said, not bothering to look at her sister.

"But I don't want…"

"Look, I don't have time for this." She said sharply, walking over her bed where she grabbed her purse. "I gotta go and show these new shoes to Carol Pingrey."

And so, Lori left the room, leaving a pretty offended Lola still inside. It was rude, yes, but she said she had things to do. Lola tried to think positively of this situation, and left the room.

She could have easily just grabbed the piece of fabric she needed from the room, but she didn't want to do it without Leni's permission. What if she grabs something important and ruins a job that took months?

Leni was in the kitchen preparing herself a smoothie. She was listening to music while happily humming the rhythm of the song. Lola walked towards her and tested her luck.

"Leni, can I borrow…"

The same exact situation that happened with Lori, repeated with the second oldest of the Loud sisters.

"Sorry Lols, but I don't have any clothes I can borrow."

"But…"

"Hush!" Leni said, placing a finger on Lola's lips. "Here comes the best part!" she said, getting away from the smoothie machine and taking her hand near her mouth to simulate a microphone. "We don't talk about Bruno!" she sang whilst dancing to the rhythm. Lola tried to call her, but she just didn't listen. She walked away, leaving her big sister alone as the smoothie machine started to spill its content with the blonde unaware.

The princess felt even angrier than before, but once again bottled up her emotions and went to ask someone else.

"Lucy, do you have some…"

"You don't have anything to blackmail me now, Lola." Lucy said.

"But I just-!"

"Goodbye." the gothic sister said, disappearing in the darkness of the attic.

"Luan…"

"I can't help you right now, Lola." the brown haired girl said. Her hair looked messy, and under her eyes were bags that showed her lack of sleep. She closed the door on her face.

"Lisa…"

"I will not formulate a potion that guarantees your victory in your pageants, sister." Lisa said, hearing something boiling behind her. Lola wanted to add something, but Lisa, just like Luan, slammed the door on her face.

That last door closing in her face was it; feeling a heavy tear rolling down her cheek, she began to cry. It was true that often she acted selfish and was self centered; she honestly didn't blame the others for thinking she wanted to blackmail them because that is what she has done many times in the past. She was aware she had done questionable things before, and to think about it, many of them made her feel ashamed.

But at that moment she just wanted a piece of fabric, not even a big piece, just a 10x10 piece, that's it, and she was denied even before she could explain herself. It was there when she truly began to reconsider her own actions, almost reaching the point of disgust and self hatred.

With now more tears falling down her eyes, she took the money she had saved for that silver ring she saw in a catalog and wanted so much, and walked to the store. There, she bought a single piece of yellow fabric, and finished the samurai figure she had put so much effort on. The work was done, and it was a damn fine job even if she said so herself. Taking it into a box and wrapping it, she made her way to the hospital.

Being halfway, she remembered that it was Lynn who was in the hospital while Lincoln was only keeping her company. This didn't let her down, she walked to the nearest sports center she found. There, she bought the best pair of cloats she found, choosing a color she was certain Lynn would love; it took a big cut of her savings, but she didn't care.

But the seed of doubt and fear her sisters planted in her bloomed. She remembered what just happened moments ago in the house, how all her sisters did not even let her explain her intentions and went straight to accuse her of attempting to blackmail them.

No. Lincoln wouldn't do that. Yes, she might have done it to him in the past, but she was dead sure he'd listen to her, unlike her sisters. With now more confidence, she continued her way.

Upon arriving, she met a well dressed woman in the reception behind a desk; she was wearing a white shirt, her brown hair tied in a ponytail and a pair of glasses, needless to say she looked very professional. Lola, with her dress dirty in some parts and sweaty from having to walk from her home to the hospital, awkwardly walked towards her, not knowing what to do first.

The woman, who was currently reading a magazine, noticed the little girl standing in front of the desk. She had two presents in her hands and looked kind of tired. She could only imagine what a little girl was possibly doing here on her own.

"May I help you, sweetie?" the lobbyist asked nicely, which made Lola relax a little.

"Yes, I want to know where my sister is, her name is Lynn Marie Loud and was brought here because she broke her leg" the blonde replied.

The woman typed in her computer for a moment, scrolling down the database of the hospital searching for the description the little girl provided. After a moment, she got a match.

"Loud, Lynn M. She's in room 20 on the second floor." the woman said.

"Great! Can you tell me how to go?"

"I'm sorry, sweetie, but minors must be accompanied by an adult, and someone's currently visiting her." the woman said, exploding the bubble of joy of the little princess. Lola felt bad, she felt all the things she had to take this day, starting from their sisters' not helping her or not even letting her explain her intentions, to the distance she had to walk to get to the hospital, were all for nothing.

But she wasn't giving up that easily, nor was she letting all her efforts go to waste.

"Fine," she said. "I'm waiting here for whoever is visiting her to finish." She walked towards the waiting room. The woman didn't know what hit her that made her feel pity for her. Was her slightly sloppy appearance? Or was the fact that she was desperate to see her sister? She pondered for a minute, before sighing and making a phone call.

A couple of minutes passed, Lola was still in the waiting room, sitting with the presents on the seat next to her. Not much time had passed since the woman told her that she couldn't go and visit her sister, but being the young girl she was, she grew bored quite fast. She then spotted a man wearing a white uniform coming to the reception and talking with the woman. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but she did spot them looking at her at the same time. Soon, the man left, leaving her confused.

About a minute later, she spotted a figure she could recognize everywhere: bald, big nose, green sweater, it was dad!

Mr. Loud talked to the woman behind the desk; she explained the situation, and after he confirmed that she was indeed his daughter, he took her to the room where her sister was. Lola walked happily, of course, not without thanking the woman; she didn't know, but had a feeling she had something to do with this.

On their short way to the room, Lynn Sr. asked her how the hell she made it there if Rita was working and he had Vanzilla; she told him everything, since her chat with Luan, passing from the gift she was making, the incidents with her sisters, and ending with the walk to the hospital. Lynn Sr. had a big mix of emotions upon hearing her story; he was proud she recognized her wrongdoings and regretted them, he was angry for the way her daughters treated her, and was happy to hear that she wanted to change and make up for her previous mistakes. One thing was for sure, he'd have a serious talk with them later.

She was the first entering the room, followed by her father. The patriarch of the family then was stopped by the male nurse who informed him that his daughter was there; apparently he had to sign some routine forms. He left the room and followed him, leaving the blonde alone with her siblings.

"Hey Lynn, Lincoln…"

"Hey, Lols," Lynn greeted. "What are you doing? And why do you look like that?"

"And how did you get here?" Lincoln asked.

"Well guys…" she started, totally nervous. "I realized I haven't been as close as a sister should be with you Lynn, so… I wanted to change that." She handed one of the gifts. "I hope we can do more things together, things we both might enjoy."

Lynn opened the gift, revealing the pair of cleats she spotted at the Sports Center. Lynn couldn't believe what she was seeing; she had her sight set on them for a while now, and the only thing that stopped her was the price. Lynn didn't know if Lola knew how much she wanted them or how limited their stock was, but one thing she knew was that, as soon as she's able to walk again, she'll put them to work.

"And Link…" She now addressed her brother. "I know I haven't been the best sister; I've been mean and demanding…but I want to change! That's why I wanted to give you this."

She handed Lincoln his gift, he unwrapped it and took from it the plastic figure she made for him. It was the character from that anime he's been watching lately and was becoming fond of. It was very detailed, and looked actually pretty accurate. Of course a few parts were mispainted here and there, but it only showed it was home crafted.

"Lola."

"I didn't do it because I wanted s-something in return!" she rushed to say, barely containing her tears. "I-I thought you'd like it!"

"Lola…"

"Please don't ask me what I'm planning! I don't want anything! I just want to become a better sister!"

"Lola!"

She managed to get a hold of herself and looked at her brother; he smiled warmly, holding the figure with care.

"I love it."

And he kneeled to hug her. That was it, Lola couldn't hold it anymore. She let her tears run like a river down her cheeks and returned the hug burying her face in her brother's chest. She wasn't sad, tho, these were tears of happiness; she was thankful that somebody believed her, instead of doubting her intentions. She forgave her family, as she understood that, with all the things she has done and said in the past, she did give them reasons to doubt. Lola promised she would change, this time for good.

She felt a warmth that extended throughout her body as she gazed in his brother's eyes, seeing the sincerity and love he felt. He, before anyone, realized what she meant. He believed her when she said that she wanted to change, and she loved him for that and for all the things he did for her.

She didn't forget the promise she made to Lynn; as soon as she was able, she'd ask her to teach her gymnastics. She knew an athletic body could make a difference in a pageant…amongst other advantages.

Lynn Sr. returned shortly after, and his heart melted with pride as he watched his daughter demonstrating her love towards her family, like she told her she'd do. Unfortunately, the visiting hour was over and it was time to return home. After saying their farewells to Lynn, they all got into vanzilla and went home. The things that happened throughout the day took their toll on the little blonde, causing her to fall asleep mid ride.

As they went home, The patriarch called all the sisters to the living room and scolded them for the way they all acted towards their sister when she was in need, without mentioning that none of them did anything to stop her when she left the house and she could've ended up hurt or something worse. With shame, and realizing they all jumped to conclusions instead of letting her explain, everyone agreed to make it up to her later.

Meanwhile, Lincoln carried Lola in his arms and took her upstairs. He opened the door of her and Lana's room, and placed her on her bed. He couldn't help but think of how cute she looked. He leaned and kissed her forehead before wishing her sweet dreams and getting out of the room.

Though sleeping, Lola was able to feel something. She wanted to be with him, to be there for him just as she was sure he'd be there for her. She wished to serve him, to be by his side…till the end of their lives.
