AN: Sorry I haven't updates in ages. I've had exams recently but I managed this chapter. I wanted to ask who you want for a love interest for Jade whilst she was in hogwarts? Some have asked fo Cedric but some don't want her to go through any more pain. What do you all think? I want to have a jealous Kol so there has to be someone.
The scene shifted back to the room Jade and Damon were in as Damon said, "Now I have a bunch of stories to tell you about your parents but first, we need to go shopping."
"Shopping?" Jade asked confused.
"Yup. Shopping. There are a few things we need," Damon said since the clothes were too big for her but he also wanted to take her out. "Come on. Let's go."
Jade got up and followed him out the room, he asked to pick her up but she shook her head telling him she could walk so they both walked side by side back to her room.
"Do you know, your mother was the one who designed your bedroom," Damon said to her as they walked.
"Really?" Jade asked shocked.
"Yup. It's not the only place she designed for you though. There's also the play area, the library, the study room, a room you can just relax in, and, well there's many others. Your mom went above and beyond for you. She loved you so much, as did your dad and your uncles. Sirius and Remus literally adored you, they loved you as their own," Damon reminisced.
"You should have seen when Sirius, Damon and James sneaked you out and had a ride on Sirius's motorbike in the night. Lily was furious but Damon just said a few words and she calmed down," Remus said.
"As usual," James and Sirius said together with a roll of their eyes as Damon smirked at James who scowled at him playfully.
"You put a baby on a motorbike?" Rebekah asked concerned.
"It wasn't a normal motorbike. This one could fly," Damon said remembering when he'd had a ride in it with Sirius, that had been fun.
"Of course," Rebekah said. "Magic."
"A flying motorbike? I want one," Kol said excitedly.
"Kol, no," Elijah and Klaus said at the same time before giving each other a look.
"Kol, yes," Kol said smirking at them.
"I would let you have a ride mate, but I'm technically dead so..." Sirius shrugged causing those close to him flinch at the reminder, none more than Jade as she swallowed and Sirius winced when he saw that, "Sorry pup."
Jade didn't say anything to that instead she turned to Kol and said, "I have the motorbike. I can give you a ride after the viewing, if you want?"
"Really? Brilliant," Kol said with a smile as his siblings sighed and rolled their eyes.
"What...What happened to them if what Aunt Petunia said isn't true?" Jade asked him.
Damon sighed before crouching in front of her as he said, "I will tell you the truth and not leave anything out, but not now. I promise I'll tell you one day though. It's just, you're too young to know the truth and you've been through hell already and on top of that, I never thought I'd be the one to have to tell you, it's a tad overwhelming to be honest but I want you to know that they loved you, more than the world, more than their life, more thananythingand they always will. They may be gone but they're not truly dead for they live in the love we hold for them. They're watching over you every moment and I don't doubt for a second that they're proud of you. You're so strong sweetheart and I'm so sorry you had to be."
"Damon you're going to make me cry," Caroline said, it was so sweet and sad and just everything she had never associated with Damon Salvatore.
"That was so sweet," Rebekah said feeling sad for both him and Jade.
"Thanks Fangs. Thank you for taking care of her and loving her like your own and thank you for being there when we weren't and giving her the love I couldn't," James said uncharacteristically emotional.
"You don't need to thank me Prongs," Damon said shaking his head.
"I do," James said.
"We both do," Lily said in agreement.
"We all do," Sirius said. After all their deaths, Jade only had him and he was beyond thankful for that.
Damon just sighed shaking his head. "I'm glad I did anyway. She's the best thing that ever happened to me," He smiled looking at his daughter who smiled and hugged him her arms around his neck as he wrapped his own around her, the others watching the two with smiles on their faces.
Jade sniffled at that, tears in her eyes before she asked, "Th-They're proud of me?"
"Of course they are. Why wouldn't they be?" Damon said.
"But...Aunt Petunia said..." Jade began but Damon cut her off.
"Whatever she said means nothing. She lied to you remember? Why would anything else be true then? Do you think I'd lie to you?" Damon asked her.
"You're nice. Lying is not, so no," Jade shook her head and he smiled.
"You're so adorable," Caroline said, yet again.
"Seriously though, you're literally so cute. How could someone even think of hurting you?" Rebekah said frowning at the thought.
"Well then trust me when I say that they're proud of you and they love you more than anything," Damon said slowly reaching forward and when she didn't flinch he held her tiny hands in his before snorting at the size difference. "You are tiny. We need to get some food in you," Damon said before he clenched his jaw in remembrance of when she'd asked if she could eat.
"Howold are you anyway?" Lily asked curiously.
"Uh...I was 8," Jade said shifting slightly.
"What?!" The newcomers exclaimed. How was that 8? She looked barely 6. It was not possible.
"That's not possible. You look barely 6," Remus said looking at her on-screen self confused.
"I know," Jade sighed.
"How much did they feed you?" Lily asked, the size of her frame was too tiny, she was so short it wasn't healthy, it all lead to one thing and when Jade grimaced at her question, she got her answer. "If they weren't already dead, I'd kill them myself."
"I'd be joining," James, Sirius and Remus said immediately and Severus just nodded in agreement.
"You can count us in too," Blaise said gesturing to him and the two on either side of him.
"Like we'd have let you have all the fun," The twins said with wicked grins on their faces.
"Rest assured that had they been alive, the Malfoy family library is filled with all sorts of curses that I'd have loved using on them," Narcissa said her eyes two chips of ice in her anger.
"Cissa..." Lucius began but Narcissa just gave himthatlook and he immediately shut up but there was a slight smile on his face that the entire wizarding population were shocked at seeing.
"Listen sweetheart, whatever they told you and however they treated you will not happen in this house, you understand? You can bathe whenever you want to, you can eat whenever and whatever you want to, you can ask me for anythingwheneveryou want to. I know that you barely know me and it would take you a while to trust me completely but if you're going to believe anything, believe thatI'd never hurt you. I'm not them ok sweetheart? You're safe here."
"Why did he have to specify all of that?" James asked not even wanting to know the answer he suspected and from Lily's fuming face, she had understood as well.
Jade shifted slightly, inside feeling glad that they hadn't been brought beforehand to see the small snippet of what she went through in that house. "The answer to that is pretty self-explanatory papa," Jade answered after a moment and they all cursed the Dursleys for a good few minutes before they turned back to the screen.
Jade sniffled and a tear ran down her face as she hastily wiped it away but they didn't stop and Damon looked at her sorrowfully as he said, "Can I hug you sweetheart?"
"Hug?" Jade asked sniffling.
"You've never been hugged before?" Lily asked looking as if she were about to cry.
"Dad did when he first brought me there but not before that," Jade answered quietly and Lily immediately pulled her into a hug as she said, "I'm so sorry baby. We should have been there."
"You don't need to apologise. It's not your fault mom," Jade said immediately.
"Still," Lily said smoothing Jade's hair away from her face. "Your eyes, they're like mine but a brighter green."
"I know," Jade said, she's heard that phrase many times.
"You have my face structure and the untameable hair but everything else is Lily," James said smiling at her.
"She has your tendency to get into trouble too," Sirius said fondly.
"Trouble?" Lily asked concerned.
"In my defence, none of it was entirely my fault," Jade said immediately.
"Entirely?" Lily asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Uh..." Jade said before nervously laughing.
"She has your brain though Lils, thankfully," Damon said and James sulked knowing the insult directed at him.
"And thank heavens for that," Mcgonagall said.
"Minnie," James said in betrayal as everyone laughed at him before turning back to the screen.
"Yes. Can I?" Damon asked and she looked at him for a long moment still sniffling before giving a very hesitant nod and he moved closer before slowly wrapping his arms around her and she flinched and stiffened at first before slowly relaxing in his embrace as the tears fell on his shirt. He rubbed her back slightly as she cried before gently picking her up in his arms as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"It's ok sweetheart. I'm here for you now. I won't let anyone hurt you, not if I can help it," Damon promised before he opened the door to her room and walked inside sitting on her bed and soon enough, too long for the audience though, she finally stopped. She pulled her head away slightly and looked up at Damon with red-rimmed teary eyes as she said, "You won't send me back? You won't hurt me?"
The absolute vulnerability and hope in her voice had their hearts melting, no one deserved that, leaast of all a child.
"Of course not. I'd never hurt you and you're not going anywhere, you're kind of stuck with me now," Damon said playfully and she smiled slightly before she raised her tiny pinky and said, "Pinky promise?"
Damon sighed as he once again wrapped his own around hers and said, "Pinky promise."
James and Sirius snorted at that like the immature adults they are but they thought the moment so sweet that they didn't say anything to that, inside glad that Jade had someone like him in her life when they hadn't been there.
"I told you Day that when it would come to it, you'll do just fine and you did, you did more than fine," Lily said smiling at him gratefully.
"I don't know how I managed...It just felt so...natural I suppose. Everything came easy to me. I honestly don't know how," Damon said shrugging.
"You basically raised me Damon. You already had it in you," Stefan said smiling at him.
"Is that Stefan?" James, Sirius, Remus and Lily asked at the same time.
"Yeah, that's my brother," Damon said nodding.
"Hi, it's really nice to meet you," Lily said with a smile.
"You too Mrs Potter," Stefan said politely.
"Please, call me Lily. Day is like a brother to me so that makes you family," Lily said warmly and Stefan blushed slightly as he said, "Oh. Um, thanks. Really, I appreciate it."
"No problem mate. Any friends or family of Fangs are friends and family to us," James said.
"So in the time we were, you know, did you manage to make any other friends?" Sirius asked with a raised eyebrow.
"As a matter of fact I did. This is Bonnie, she's my best friend," Damon said nodding to her and they all noticed his arm around her and they exchanged looks knowing that Damon wasn't just affectionate with anyone and even when he was, physical affection didn't come easy to him and yet it was like he didn't even notice his arm around her, as if it were the norm for him.
"Uh huh," Lily said a small smirk on her face as she looked at the two.
"What?" Damon asked.
"Nothing. Nothing. It's just...You two look cute together," Lily said innocently and the two blushed red.
"Uh...right, ok, well then there's Ric," Damon said nodding to Alaric who waved at them and they smiled at him. "He's also one of my best friends."
"But didn't he show up with us?" James asked concerned.
"Yup. I'm dead," Alaric said shrugging as Elena and Jeremy flinched and Damon clenched his jaw whilst Rebekah grimaced just slightly knowing it had been her fault.
"Oh," Lily said turning to Damon sadly.
"And then there's..." Damon looked at Enzo for a moment and shifted slightly as he said, "Uh..."
"What is his name again? I forgot," James asked Sirius looking at the guy he could see Damon looking at and Jade answered him, "His name's Enzo."
Enzo jolted in his seat and looked behind him and saw Damon looking at him, he didn't know what to feel about the fact that Damon had been about to mention him. Did he really still consider him a friend?
"Yeah, but other than that, it's just Jade," Damon shrugged peeling his eyes away from Enzo who turned back in his seat, his inner turmoil going unnoticed by everyone except Jade who was looking between the two old friends concerned.
"What about me?" Elena asked sadly, he hadn't even mentioned her as a friend and that hurt.
"What about you?" Damon asked rolling his eyes.
"I..." Elena began but Jeremy bluntly interjected, "For God's sake, drop it Elena. He doesn't love you, just deal with it."
"Wait, what? Damon doesn't love Elena, he's in love with..." Alaric began before he put his hand over his own mouth stopping himself in time before he looked at Damon apologetically who had tensed just slightly. "Uh...nevermind."
"Who's he in love with?" Elena demanded desperately refusing to believe such a thing was possible.
"Can't say Elena. Sorry," Alaric said refusing to give anything away.
"But..." Elena began but Alaric said, "I won't tell, ok? I promised Damon."
"So?" Elena asked annoyed.
"Well that promise actually means something to me," Alaric said confused about how Elena was acting as she groaned and turned away annoyed. He then exchanged a look with Jeremy who just shrugged with a long-suffering look on his face.
"Wait, she looks exactly like...am I missing something here?" Lily asked confused looking between the girl and Katherine confused.
"Oh, right, yeah, the two of them are doppelgangers," Damon said, he'd already explained this to Jade so she knew why but the newcomers had no idea.
"Doppelgangers?" Lily and Remus asked looking intrigued, they knew what they were but they'd never witnessed such a thing.
"Yup. Elena's a doppelganger as she's a descendant of Katherine," Damon said before he looked at his brother with a weird look on his face, "Stef you do realise you slept with Elena's great, many times great grandmother and then slept with Elena herself, who's her great, many times great granddaughter?"
"Way to make someone feel great about themselves Damon. Thank you," Stefan said sarcastically actually feeling weird about how Damon had put it.
Damon laughed at him at that before Jade said, "Dad you can't say anything. You told me about your little thing with Elena's mother and one generation apart makes it no less creepy."
Damon grimaced as the others laughed at him and he turned to Jade and said sarcastically, "Thank you for taking my side, really."
"I was merely telling the truth and besides, I have to defend Uncle Steffie from the likes of you," Jade said teasingly as Stefan smiled, he found he didn't mind the name now, he was just happy that she accepted him already despite having just met him.
"I don't like you anymore," Damon said pouting.
"You love me," Jade said teasingly.
"I suppose I do, maybe, possibly, probably..." Damon began and Jade nudged him.
"Dad, don't be mean," Jade said with a laugh before everyone turned back to the screen with amused smiles on their faces as it shifted to the both of them leaving the house.
Jade was dressed up adorably but the clothes still hung off her slightly. He opened the car door and she got in with Damon's help who then put her seatbelt on securely.
"Don't open this ok? It's for your safety," Damon said and she nodded.
"Ok Damon," She said softly and he smiled at her before shutting the door as he got into his own seat before driving out of there as the scene shifted to a mall where Damon was walking along with Liana who was looking around in awe.
"Where are we?" Jade asked curiously and Damon took her to the side before crouching in front of her as he said,"This is a shopping mall. There is literally everything here. Now there's a few rules I have. One, do not wander off so basically, just stay close to me. I am in no mood of losing you anywhere. Two, buy anything your heart desires and Three, have fun. Can you do that?"
"You're a really good dad Damon," Alaric said.
"Thanks Ric," Damon said with a smile on his face.
"You really are," Jade said as she kissed his cheek and he smiled as he pulled her closer kissing her temple as he did so. He was so beyond glad to have her in his life.
"Uh I can do the first one. The second...um...I'm not...I'm not so sure of...and the third, yeah that one I can do...I think," Jade said contemplating each question and he snorted at the way she'd worded it.
"You're honestly so cute," Tracey commented.
"For real," Caroline said, she was honestly so cute as a kid.
"Thanks," Jade said red in the face.
"I completely forget you're 8 at times but then I remember when you speak like that," Damon said smiling at her before he got up and held out a hand to her. She held his before they walked through the mall. "First, we're going to get you clothes fit to your size."
"Clothes?" Jade asked looking confused but Damon didn't notice as he looked around fbefore taking herinside a huge clothing shop as he said, "So what do you want? Let's start with shirts."
He took her to the aisle for kids' shirts and said, "Pick as many as you'd like."
"I...uh...um..." Jade said looking overwhelmed.
"Do you not like any of them? There are a gazillion other shops we could go to," Damon said.
"I...no, that's not...It's just...um...I don't...I don't need anything. There are already so many clothes in the closet in my room," Jade said confused.
"Yes, but they don't fit you," Damon said.
"It's alright. I've always worn loose clothes. I'm fine with it," Jade said.
"The clothes you were wearing when I'd found you, whose were they?" Damon asked.
"Dudley's old cast-offs," Jade answered and Damon clenched his jaw in annoyance. The girl had never even been given proper clothes.
"They didn't buy you clothes?" Lily asked sadly.
"Don't worry. You should see my closet now. Dad might have went a bit berserk," Jade whispered the last part to Lily but obviously Damon heard it.
"Shut it," Damon said rolling his eyes and she smiled at him cheekily.
"Listen to me sweetheart, I have all the money in the world so pick anything you want or I'll buy out the entire shop," Damon said.
"Did you seriously just threaten her to empty your bank account with a threat to actually empty your bank account?" Jeremy asked with a laugh.
"Had no choice. This girl is as stubborn as me, she's even worse now," Damon said.
"Not my fault. You've been a really bad influence on me," Jade said teasingly.
"Please, you'd be lost without me," Damon said with a smirk.
"I hate how that's true," Jade said with a pout as the others smiled at the two.
"What?" Jade asked her eyes comically wide.
"Yup," Damon smirked. "So tell me what's your favourite colour?"
"Green," Jade answered and he smiled.
"Wonder why," He said sarcastically, it was the colour of her eyes and the meaning of her name.
"It's not because of what you're thinking. I like them because of a snake I met. He was very nice to me, he even asked if he could help me escape from there," Jade said casually.
"Wait, what? What do you mean the snake asked?" Damon asked.
"You can talk to snakes?" James an Sirius asked shocked as Tom looked wide-eyed.
"Uh...yeah. Is that ok?" Jade asked nervously.
"Of course it is," James said immediately after seeing her worried face.
"I was a prejudice little shit I admit but I'm not like that now. It's actually pretty cool if you think about it," Sirius said and she smiled at that.
"Well, then would you mind this?" Jade asked as she put her hand in her trusty little pouch and pulled out a small box, she opened it and put her finger inside and a small green vine seemed to wrap around her finger as she put the box away.
"What is that?" Sirius asked before nearly screaming when it moved and small beady eyes looked at him.
"Is that a snake?" Tom asked as he sat up on his seat and turned to look behind him to the row where she was sitting.
"It is. I found the little guy whilst I was on the run," Jade explained.
"On the run?" Lily asked concerned.
"Uh..." Jade said not knowing what to say.
"Everything will be shown in due time,"Death said to them.
"Yeah. Anyway, his name is..." Jade began before she was cut off.
"Havoc the Great. The wonderful. The absolute beauty. The..."
"For once in your life, just shut up Hav," Jade said rolling her eyes as the others looked at her.
"That's so cool. Imagine being able to talk to snakes," Jeremy said as he heard her hssing.
"For real," Tyler said in agreement.
"Always so mean to little old me. I thought you loved me,"He then proceeded to open his jaw and wail like an idiot whilst the others tensed in concern thinking he was going to bite her.
"Hav, you are on overdramatic piece of shit. Stop behaving like a child,"Jade said rolling her eyes and he stopped wailing and proceeded to pout up at her. Kol suddenly tensed in his seat as he heard her hissing voice and he shifted clearing his throat just slightly as he looked away and tried to tune her out but it was not working so he put his right leg over his left causally so that others wouldn't notice his little problem.
"I have every right to be upset. You callously ruined my beauty sleep,"He complained as Tom snorted in amusement.
"You're right about the overdramatic part,"Tom said and when he did a few of the witches and wizards tensed, they'd heard what Death had said before but it was weird to associate a teenager looking like that to Voldemort but the parseltongue just made it all the more true.
"Another snake speaker. Jay why didn't you tell me? You never tell me anything,"He complained.
"I tell you everything you daft dimbo. It's not my fault your pea-sized brain can't process so much information making you forget mostly everything and thus leaving it mostly blank," Jade said.
"Ouch. I am hurt. I am so very hurt. I want to go back in my comfy bed now. I don't like you anymore,"Havoc said sadly as he curled up in a ball.
"Hav you're being ridiculous,"Jade said sighing in exasperation."Fine. I'm sorry. Am I forgiven?"
"I suppose," He said grudgingly before he turned to the other snake speaker."What's your name?"
"I'm Tom,"Tom hissed.
"Havoc. It's nice to meet you but I must now go back to having my beauty sleep which was so rudely interrupted,"He replied looking up at Jade with a playful glare as she rolled her eyes before he slid up her bare arm but when he moved across her arm where Elena had dug her nails, he suddenly paused in anger."Who did this? I'll bite them. I'll kill them."
"Hav calm down. It was nothing. It's been dealt with,"Jade grimaced knowing how he was.
"Fine if you won't tell me. I'll find out myself,"He said and all it took was one sniff and he got his answer before he quickly slithered off and slithered to where he could smell the same scent from.
"Hav! Havoc!"Jade hissed in annoyance before she groaned annoyed and when she heard a scream she immediately willed Havoc to her and he flew right into her hands as he struggled before looking at her stern face and relaxing in her hold.
"Did you just set your damned snake on me?" Elena demanded angrily.
"No," Jade said but she couldn't say anything else before she cut her off.
"Are you serious? He was literally just about to bite me and obviously it had to be you. God, you're such a bitch. I..." Elena began angrily before Tom cut her off.
"She didn't tell him to do so, not that I'd blame her if she did," Tom defended her glaring at her with such cold eyes that it had her literally flinch, there was just something unnerving about his gaze.
"He's right. Havoc here saw the marks on my arm courtesy of you and he might have got a bit protective. You see, if I'd wanted him to bite you I wouldn't have stopped him so word of warning, if you call me a bitch again, I won't," Jade said annoyed with her assumptions but she supposed it was slightly understandable since she couldn't understand what she had been saying before Havoc slithered off. "You may be a vampire so his bite won't kill you but I assure you it will be agonisingly painful so don't piss me off," She threatened her and Elena shut up at that.
"Did you say his name was Havoc?" Kol asked amused.
"Suits him perfectly," Jade said honestly and Havoc understood what she said and pouted at her.
"How can you speak to snakes?" Stefan asked curiously.
"It's a long story. One you'll probably find out anyway," Jade said remembering that Death had said all will be shown when she'd mentioned her being on the run and if these memories would show till then, then it would probably show the battle and everything that led her here which had her concerned as she gave a subtle glance to her dad. If he found out what she'd done, he was going to flip she thought as the memory played.
"It said to me that it would help me. It stayed in my cupboard for a while until Aunt Petunia found it and stabbed it with a rake," Jade said sadly looking down as she remembered when she'd lost her only friend.
"I remember him. I'd named him Baneofallrodents," Jade said with a sad laugh.
"Bane of all rodents?" Kol asked amused as the others laughed at her.
"In my defence, I was 7," Jade said amused herself.
"Wait you had a snake before me?"Havoc asked pouting.
"Yes Hav I have, and Baneofallrodents wasn't the only one,"Jade said as some jumped but others looked on intrigued.
"Oh,"Havoc said looking down sadly.
"But you're my favourite,"Jade said consolingly and Havoc perked up at that before sliding up to her neck butting her cheek with his small head affectionately as she laughed at him before he curled up on her shoulder and slept.
"I really want to know what you're saying," Caroline said.
"There is a parseltongue spell for that but it doesn't last very long," Jade said to her. "Next time I speak I can use it on you if you want?"
"Really? Yes!" Caroline said happily.
"Can you do the same for me?" Jeremy asked curiously as others began to say the same.
"You know what, give me a sec," Jade said before she closed her eyes and suddenly a green dome of light encircled her and began to engulf the cinema. When Jade opened her electrifying green eyes, both the light and the glow of her eyes faded.
"What on earth was that light? Must you keep ruining my beauty sleep?"Havoc complained but this time everyone could hear him and they were admittedly shocked, it was the weirdest and coolest experience ever. They heard the rest of his complaints which lasted a good few minutes before Jade hissed back,"Hav shut up."
"But Jade I wanna sleep,"Havoc said pouting.
"I swear all you do is sleep,"Jade said.
"This beauty did not come from anywhere you now,"He said vainly.
"Hav, for Merlin's sake can you tone down the vanity?"Jade asked with a long suffering look on her face.
"I am not vain. You're just mean,"He said scowling at her playfully.
"Hav..."Jade began.
"Shut up?"He asked.
"You guessed it,"Jade said rolling her eyes before the spell wore off and the others couldn't hear what she was saying anymore, well they could, they just couldn't understand it.
"That was freaking cool," The twins and Jeremy said at the same time.
"Is that how it is for you?" Damon asked her curiously.
"Yes, I mean everything he's saying I hear it in English. When I first spoke it, I had actually thought we were conversing in English only to find out that I was apparently a parselmouth," Jade explained before they all turned back to the screen.
"Ok one, please don't call it your cupboard and two, are you telling me you can talk to snakes?" He asked shocked.
"Um...yeah? It's normal right? I'm sure I'm not the only one," Jade said.
"Right, ok. We'll talk about this at home. There's nothing to worry about I promise," Damon said with a smile to assure the girl.
"Ok," Jade nodded.
"I'm sorry about what happened to the snake," Damon said when he noticed that she honestly looked really sad.
"His name was Baneofallrodents. He was my only friend and then Aunt Petunia killed him in front of me," Jade said sniffling slightly remembering when had used the rake to tab him.
"I'm sorry sweetheart," Damon said feeling bad for nearly laughing when she'd said the name but he was truly sad for her. It would have hurt to see the one thing she considered a friend die. "Want a hug?"
Jade looked at him and nodded with quivering lips and he picked her up and said, "It's ok sweetheart. Why don't you tell me about...Baneofallrodents." It took a lot out of him to keep a straight face at the name.
Jade began to tell him about the snake as the two went around the mall looking at the multiple clothes.
"It's cute the way you're not just nodding along but instead are fully attentive to her," Rebekah said with a smile.
"Yeah that's honestly really nice of you. Nowadays, parents just want their children to shut up," Tyler said remembering how his own father had been and how neglectful his mother had been, he loved her yes, but he wished she'd been there for him when he was younger and not turned a blind eye to the bruises. It was another reason why he'd hated seeing her's and Damons' memories, no one deserved to be treated like that, especially by people who were uspposed to take care of them so he understood the girl and Damon himself to an extent. His wasn't as bad as theirs but he'd been on the wrong end of his father's temper many times, it had toned down the more he grew up thankfully, but the memories still hurt especially now that he was gone.
Jade could hear some sort of bitterness in his words that made her realise he didn't have the best of parents and she frowned. After what she went through, she took child abuse seriously,anyform of child abuse. She had honestly hated it whenever Molly, that utter bitch, had insulted and badmouthed the twins' pride and joy, no wonder her kids wanted to be as far away from her as possible, except Ron and Ginny, the jealous little shit and the spoiled little bitch.
The two then began filling their trolleydespite Jade's multiple protests, but with a few threats of actually buying the entire shop out for her, she let him buy everything he caught her eyeing and some things he added because he thought she'd look adorable in it.
"That is too much. Maybe we should just put all of it back. I mean, I don't really..." Jade began as she looked at the trolley with wide eyes before Damon cut her off.
"Relax Jade. This won't make even a dent in my account. Promise," Damon said winking at her before he asked, "Can I pick you up? There are a lot of people here and I don't need my favourite person getting trampled on."
"Favourite person?" Jade asked as she nodded at him.
"Yup. You're my favourite person," He said as he picked her up holding her with one arm as he pushed the trolley with the other.
"You look like such a dad. It's sweet," Bonnie said to Damon.
"Hmm, thank you," Damon said kissing her temple softly and she blushed red as his lips lingered for a moment too long before leaving her to breathe in peace.
Lily and Jade exchanged smirks, the mother and daughter looking almost identical as they though the same thing. It was now their job to get them both together as soon as possible. Damon deserved all the happiness in the world and Lily wanted there to be someone to take care of him and to see him happybefore she was gone. Jade would, she knew but she would grow up and have a family of her own which Damon would be a part of but that didn't mean he should be alone when she was catering to her family, he needed someone for himself, a partner, someone to love.
Soon enough they were done with the clothes shop and Damon walked out with quite a few bags in his one hand but they weighed barely anything to him as he held Jade with the other looking at her as he said, "I'm going to put these in the car first, then after do you want some ice cream?"
Jade shrugged, "I don't know. What does it taste like?"
"Not even ice cream?" Jeremy asked knowing he shouldn't be surprised but come on, ice cream? Seriously?
"Nope but don't worry, Dad probably has made me taste every flavour in the world and let's not mention Fortesque's ice cream shop, that woman loves me," Jade said smiling at the thought of her.
"She really does. She gives her free ice creams when she used to sit in her shop to do her work," Neville said remembering.
"Used to? If she did that for me, then I wouldn't stop going there," Sirius said but he frowned when Jade's face dropped.
"What's wrong cub?" Remus asked noticing the same thing.
"The death eaters destroyed the place along with a few other shops in Diagon Alley," Luna informed them.
"We don't really know how many survived the atracks. We were brought here just after the war," Neville said.
"Death? Did you see Madame Fortesque up there?" Jade asked hoping it was a no.
"No I have not,"Death said and Jade sighed in relief at that before turning back to the screen.
Damon blew out a breath before he said in a forcefully calm voice, "You know the milkshake I made for you. That had strawberry ice cream in it."
"I loved that milkshake," Jade said.
"Good. So we can go to an ice cream shop and I can order a few flavours and then you can see which one you like," Damon suggested.
"No, it's ok. You've spent more than enough on me when you didn't really need to," Jade said quietly.
"I wanted to and I've barely spent how much I want to spend on you so we're going to get ice cream," Damon said before he opened the trunk and put the bags inside before closing it. He walked back inside with her and walked around for a bit before spotting an ice cream shop and he walked inside with her still on his hip.
He walked up to the front and said to Jade, "There's all your choices. Which ones do you want to try first?"
"Uh..." Jade said looking at the different colours in confusion, she'd never seen so many before.
"May I recommend the Mixed bowl for the lovely lady. 5 scoops of any flavour, the same or different, for $3.50," The person said.
Damon saw her unsure face and then told the guy to give them the mixed bowl and put the most popular choices for the 5 different scoops before he sat down with her at one of the tables.
"Jade are you all right?" Damon asked when he saw her shifting in her seat.
"Huh? Oh. I'm fine. I just..." Jade began before trailing off.
"Just what? It's alright. You can tell me anything," Damon said.
"The money you spent...was it really necessary? I don't mean to be rude or anything, I'm honestly really grateful...It's just...Isn't a bit too much?" Jade asked uncomfortably.
"Sweetheart have you seen my house?" He asked and she nodded confused. "It's worth a fortune. When I said I have enough money I meant it. Too much if you ask me, so much so that if I burn a 100,000 pounds right now, I'd still have enough to last your entire life and mine and still have some left in the end so what I spent today is barely anything. You're gonna have to get used to me spoiling you rotten," Damon said playfully and she smiled at him.
"Wait what?" Jeremy asked shocked as Elena frowned in her seat. They never told her anything she thought annoyed.
"How rich are you guys?" Blaise asked curiously.
"Richer than the Malfoys to be honest, which is saying something since galleons are worth a lot more in muggle currency," Jade said honestly and that doesn't even count her fortune.
"Salazar!" Theo said shocked.
"You are filthy fucking rich!" Blaise said.
"Blaise language," Daphne said.
"That would be english," He smirked at her and she swatted at his arm with a roll of her eyes before they tunrfed back to the screen as the scene shifted.
It now showed that the two were outside the shop as Damon asked, "So which one was your favourite?"
"Chocolate," Jade said and he smiled as he said, "Mine too. Now come on, it's getting busy, let me pick you up."
She nodded and he lifted her on his hip as he walked around the two talking and laughing with each other before they came across a toy shop and Damon went inside.
"What are we doing here Damon?" Jade asked confused.
"What do you think?" He asked with a smirk.
"I don't know," Jade said shrugging.
"We're shopping," He said.
"But we already did shopping and this is a toy shop," Jade said still confused.
"I know," He said smiling amused at her.
"So what are we doing here?" She asked.
"Well we're certainly not here for me so..." He shrugged.
"I don't understand," Jade said.
"Ok, it was obvious at that point. You're really just laying it on thick. We get it, your relatives were not the best but come on, you're being deliberately ignorant here," Elena said, why couldn't they see what she saw. The girl was an attention seeker.
"Excuse me?" Lily asked pissed off. "What is wrong with you? My sister and her ass of a husband never brought a thing for her, not even clots, obviously she was not going to believe Day doing that for her after knowing her for a day at most. I warned you before not to say anything about my daughter so this is the last warning, one more word from you and I will hex you to the last century."
"You can't use your magic in here," Elena said refusing to be scared.
"You do realise I control that right? And currently your pissing me off so I may just 'accidentally' forget about that certain rule. Wouldn't want that would you? What do you humans say, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn,.' Truer words were never spoken and her being a redhead at that, they're known to have quite the temper. Personally I wouldn't want to be at the end of it, and I doubt you would too so I strongly suggest you shut your mouth and keep your judgemental little comments to your self,"Death said his voice calm but there was an angry undertone to it that Elena seemed to have noticed for she paled slightly shutting up before everyone turned back to the screen.
AN: Any ideas for moments between Jade and Damon or memories he could tell her about him and her parents.

- Damon tells her about how he'd spent the entirety of Lily's pregnancy with them in their house and then a flashback showing a summary of his time there, showing his overprotectiveness and when she'd been about to fall from the stairs, he'd caught her in time, he did all the cooking so she didn't have to, he spent a fortune on muggle baby stuff that the wizards were curious about and anything else you guys can think of.
- Damon tells her about Jade's birthday and a flashback of the celebration
- Jade turning 9 years old not expecting the birthday party Damon threw for her.
- A summary of his time with her: Damon playing in the pool with Jade, playing basketball with her, watching a movie together, playing a board game with each other, chasing each other around the house, Damon teaching her since he chose to homeschool her instead of sending her to school and anything you guys want to add on.
- When she's nearly 10 years old, he tells her about her parents and what happened to them showing the the flashback of how they were killed. He tells her about what she is.
- When the hogwarts letter comes, Severus comes to help in getting them into Diagon Alley since Damon couldn't do that. If I do this, I'll change a few things where Severus recognised Damon at first or Mcgonagall will come instead. What do you think?
