Loonatics On Ice

From space, we see a planet with every amount of land all lit up in lights. The planet is Acmetropolis. On the planet's surface, the traffic is busy and the temperature is over 100 degrees at 106. People are walking with sweat trickling down their heads, a group gather around a man with a puffing hat, a swimming pool with three elevated levels has five children in it and they seem to still be warm despite the pools cool water as if the heat wave is warming the water.

The Weatherman: "This is the hottest year in the history of Acmetropolis. It's triple digits and climbing. Can anything possibly cool this heat wave off?"

Meanwhile, in the harbor, a massive iceberg emerges from the water. As it advances to the city, it destroys every bridge, building and car in it's path. The people run away as the iceberg moves through the city. Drivers are forced to leave their vehicles behind. After moving through the city for a few minutes, the iceberg stops and when it does, the area from where it's positioned starts freezing outwards in all directions. The freezing freezes anyone it touches, those unlucky enough to get away, those who don't see it until too late, and the kids in the pool. The temperature starts dropping like a rock below freezing and hit's subzero temperatures. As the buildings are covered in ice, we're taken to the Loonatics headquarters.

Tech: "Brrrr! Now that is cold." He takes a bite of a frozen piece of pizza. "Where'd you get it? Iceland?

Rev: "Actually, no. I just picked it up at a pizza joint downtown which I must say is abnormally cold for this time of year. But, if you really wanted some pizza from Iceland, I could go get some and be back in 4.2 seconds, but of course that's just an estimation because you really can't be too sure about the traffic..." Rev is cut off as Tech, annoyed with Rev's fast talking, shoves the pizza slice into Rev's mouth. Rev walks off.

Tech: "That was one of those questions that didn't require an answer." Tech taps the frozen pizza and looks at Ace meditating on his floating pad with his sword in his hands. Tech holds up the pizza box up. "Hey Ace." Ace opens his eyes.

Ace: "On it, Tech." With a smile, Ace uses his laser eyes to thaw the pizza into Tech's favorite kind.

Tech: "Extra crispy. Pizza, Duck?" Tech looks over to Duck asking if he wants a slice. Duck is wearing a blue cape and looking himself in a holographic mirror trying to look heroic.

Duck: "Are you kidding? I've already had my protein shake. It's vitally important to maintain a superhero physique, because you can't be flabby when you're "The Duckinator"!" Rip, who is putting the finishing repairs on some equipment in the kitchen, turns his head around.

Rip: "Yesterday, you were calling yourself "Super Duper Duck"." Rip gives a snickering smile. Duck seems to agree that it wasn't a good one.

Duck: "Yeah well, the name wasn't quite rolling off the tongue. Besides, I need a name that'll fit on the costume. You got one, Ace?"

Ace: "How about, uh... Duck?"

Duck, realizing the joke, but not amused, "Very, funny." The door to the room opens with the silhouette of Lexi dancing to music playing on her headphones in her ears. She walks in, opens her eyes, and takes the earphones out.

Lexi: "Tech, did you order more than one pie?" Tech is eating a pizza slice.

Tech: No, why?" Lexi's supersonic hearing waves move up her ears.

Lexi: "Because Slam is in the house." The waves disappear and Lexi looks toward the door. Slam's grunting is heard outside and the door opens with a mist of cold air blowing in and a frozen Slam standing with a frozen expression on his face and one foot in the air. Rev, Rip, Lexi, Duck, and Tech look at Slam with different expressions when the ringtone of Zadavia's call sounds and they look in the direction of the ring. A holographic image of Zadavia appears with a multiple color aura.

Zadavia: "Loonatics, we have a problem." Ace wipes the cold/hot mix fog of the window big enough for his head to be visible outside.

Ace: "You got that right Zadavia. I'd say we've got a serious problem."

The camera zooms out far enough to show the Loonatics tower and it's surrounding buildings getting covered in ice.

The Loonatics gather at the circle table surrounding the massive hologram projector under the image screen showing the iceberg as Zadavia tells them what's going on.

Ace: "Eh, what's up, Zadavia? Certainly not the temperature."

Zadavia: "So far, nobody can figure out where this iceberg came from. I don't have to tell you what will happen if the temperature keeps dropping."

Duck: "I knew it. We're gonna lose cable again." Duck certainly knows how to say things besides the point, to the annoyance of Zadavia.

Zadavia: "Alright maybe I do have to tell you." Duck freezes. "The entire world could be facing a new Ice Age." Lexi groans in disappointment.

Lexi: "Oh, great. Those winter sweaters make me look chubo."

Zadavia: "When the meteor hit Earth, your superpowers weren't the only after effect. This iceberg could be related."

Ace: "I think we can handle one iceberg." Ace certainly knows how to be optimistic and confident.

Zadavia: "Acmetropolis is counting on you to take care of this. Zadavia out." The hologram deactivates.

Lexi: "When she goes out, where does she go? The movies?"

Rip: "Certainly not the mall."

Ace: " Tech, we might need some toys to melt this ice cube." Tech does not like his inventions being called "toys".

Tech: "Uh, excuse me Chief. They're not toys. They're "precision hand-crafted alloy instruments."

Ace: "We'll take those too! But first; the toys.

The Loonatics head to Tech's lab where he hands them all a circle invention.

Tech: "The Retro Fire Master Blaster. Hold it in the palm of your hand squeeze twice, and...

Rev squeezes his twice and the invention expands, covering his entire hand and half of his arm, shaping into the form of a blaster.

Rev: "Cool!" He gives a combat stance with a brave grunt. Slam is having trouble with his and he drops it. It bounces and Slam stops it with his foot and the invention expands from his foot and ignites, turning Slam into a ricochet rocket, unable to control.

Tech: "Uncurl your toes! Uncurl your toes!"

Slam does that and the blaster reverts back into a ball. Slam falls and gives a victory laugh with Ace. Lexi moves up to Ace.

Lexi: "You gotta love the toys!"

Ace: "Time to crush some ice! Let's jet!"

The Loonatics put their jetpacks on except Rev who has his own flight as fast as a jet pack or faster and head out towards the iceberg. As they approach, Rev can't contain his excitement.

Rev: "Would you look at that thing? It's gotta be the biggest iceberg I've ever seen. I've seen some doozies. You think we should've put more juice in the blasters? Not that I doubt your expertise or anything, but that is one giant-"

Ace: "Rev! Watch where you're talking!" Rev looks in time to quickly maneuver away from the iceberg before he could crash into it and takes position next to Tech.

Tech: "OK, what wise guy moved Mt. Everest?"

Ace: "Alright. Snow cones for everyone." The Loonatics encircle the iceberg right above it. "Set blasters on thaw." The Loonatics activate their blasters and blast the iceberg. After a few seconds, Ace notices that the blasters aren't working. "Ergh. No dice. Cease fire! Cease fire!" The Loonatics stop and the iceberg had not melted a single bit. Tech is upset with that.

Tech: "How could my Retro Fire Master Blasters not work?"

Rip: "Don't worry, Tech. There's always Plan B."

Ace: "Right Rip! My favorite part!" The Loonatics descend to the street. "You're on, Slam buddy!" Slam activates his powers and his blaster to combine with his twister leaving a fiery hot trail behind it. Slam circles the iceberg and it starts to melt and the temperature starts to rise above subzero. Everyone is amazed at Slam's power.

Ace: "Whew, what did this guy have for breakfast, eh?"

Tech: "You got me."

Rip "I don't wanna know."

Rev: "Me neither."

As Slam continues to make the iceberg melt, the ice covering the city and the people and animals starts to melt, freeing all the people and animals.

Duck: "Chipping ice isn't a superpower. Quacking is a superpower. Observe..." Duck does his teleport ability and he ends up in the iceberg. "You can stop observing now." Slam frees duck and the Loonatics victoriously watch as the temperature reaches 78 degrees.

Ace: "Good guys 1, Mother Nature nothing!" Slam catches his breath, while Lexi's super hearing picks something up.

Lexi: "Hold on, Ace. Mother Nature may be done, but I'm picking something up." Lexi points at the almost melted iceberg.

Duck: "Perhaps a high pitched dog whistle?"

The iceberg shatters, revealing a massive high tech Viking-like ship with a massive high tech sail and towering dragon's head from the bow. The middle of the neck opens and tall, machine looking Viking cyborgs, each with different colors, emerge and land in front of the Loonatics.

Ace: "Man are you guys lost!" Then another, more bigger cyborg, the leader, lands ahead of the others. "What's up, Doc?"

Gunnar: "I am Gunnar!"

Ace: "Gunnar what? Gunnar go to a Viking convention at the civic center?"

Gunnar: "No. We are here to take over your world!"

Ace: "You know, you frosted flakes might as well go back to where you came from, because this is a "No invasion" zone!"

Gunnar: "We will take over your world by any means necessary!"

Ace: "No, you won't!"

Gunnar: "Yes, we will!"

Ace: "No, you won't!"

Gunnar: "Yes, we will!"

Ace: Yes, you will!

Gunnar: "No, we won't conquer your world!"

Ace: "Have it your way."

Gunnar: "Oooh, I will enjoy crushing you, rabbit!" Gunnar strikes at Ace with his sword and Ace dodges.

Ace: "Oh, yeah. Like that's gonna happen." Ace takes out his sword and engages Gunnar in combat. After 8 swipes each, Ace rejoins the team. "I can keep this up all day."

Gunnar: "Taste my cold steel!" Gunnar activates his sword, covering it in a freezing aura. "Time to chill out, bunny!" Ace counters with his laser eyes.

Ace: "I don't think so!" Ace and Gunnar's rays fight out even when they get closer to give them power. The other Vikings activate there weapons.

Vikings: "Hammers of Frost!" The hammers impact the street causing an ice sheet to move under Ace, causing him to lose his balance, giving Gunnar the advantage. As the Loonatics struggle to help Ace, the Viking surround the group and activate all there weapons and start to freeze the group.

Tech: " Their weapons seem to be charged with a subzero hypothermal liquid solidification energy that when fired can freeze-"

Ace: "Yeah! I got that part figured out!." Unfortunately, the Viking's manage to freeze the group, leaving no one else to stop them.

Gunnar: "Let's put this city on ice!" With an evil laughter, Gunnar and the Vikings head off. The Viking ship starts to freeze the city. Duck then teleports out of the ice, with a freezing expression.

Duck: "Ok, I'm out! I'm out and I'm safe, which is a number one importance. No need to worry about me I'm-" Duck turns around and see's his teammates are still frozen. He knocks the ice. "Hello, you still in there? Well, I guess that puts me in charge!" The ice starts to rumble and and explodes, knocking Duck away. Slam had gotten everyone out with his tornado. The other Loonatics have freezing expressions.

Ace: "Ooh, n-n-nice work, Slam!" Slam gives a laugh

Duck: "I could have gotten you all out if you had given me time to think!" Ace cuts him off.

Ace: "We had seconds, not hours, duck."

Duck: "I liked you as a snow bunny."

The Loonatics walk down the street and notice that the Vikings have frozen everything up again.

Ace: "I like what they've done with the place."

Lexi: "Snow drips are very dready this year." Then a familiar ring sounds from a phone booth.

Ace: "Hmm, that sounds like Zadavia's ring." They approach the booth where Lexi answers the call.

Lexi: "Hello?" A hologram of Zadavia appears next to the booth.

Zadavia: "I guess you know by now that these are no ordinary Vikings."

Ace: "Yeah, they didn't even sound Scandinavian."

Zadavia: "I believe the iceberg slipped through one of the dimensional portals that opened up after the meteor hit. These mutant techno-Vikings must have been frozen inside during an ice storm in their own dimension. But now that they're here in Acemetropolis and have been released..."

Ace: "They can freeze and paralyze the world, so that it's easy for them to take over!"

Zadavia: "Precisely, but right now, you have bigger problems." Before she could finish, an ice blast comes down on the group, destroying the booth and knocks the group down. They get up with a groan.

Duck: "I didn't get the last part. What are the bigger problems?" Behind them, the Viking's ship appears and the dragon head fires another ice blast at the group. They scatter and Duck teleports in time to avoid the blast. The head fires ice blasts all over the city, freezing large portions with one shot. The team takes cover behind some crates next to the ship and notice two Vikings on the ship.

Lexi: "If their trail leads into the city, what are they doing back on their boat?"

Ace: "Maybe they didn't want to miss the dinner show. Let's put them on ice! Let's jet!" Duck takes the lead.

Duck: "Right! Ready, team? 1, 2-" He activates his jetpack and it sputters. "3?" The team checks their jetpacks.

Ace: "Looks like the ice short circuited our jetpacks."

Rip: "Well, more repairs for me when this is over."

Ace: "You got a backup plan, Tech?"

Tech: "Gad you asked." Tech pulls out a remote, presses a button, calling in 7 high tech motorcycles with different colored helmets for each Loonatic. Ace gets on his first.

Ace: "Let's show these Vikings how to fly!" Ace heads off first as the others get on their bikes.

The bikes can transform into jet powered flying vehicles, giving the team and aerial advantage. The team begin their attack on the ship.

Viking: "The bunny is back." The dragon head fires numerous ice blasts at the Loonatics, making it like a target practice game. Duck almost gets hit by a blast until he's saved when Rip uses his psychic powers to move his vehicle out of the way in time and knocks a blast into another. Duck moves up to Rip.

Duck: "Daredevil Duck thanks you!" Duck heads off leaving Rip annoyed.

Rip: groans "Pick a name already! Sheesh." Lexi rides alongside Ace.

Lexi: "How long are we gonna let them use us for target practice?"

Ace: "Until they run out of spit rods. Which should be right about..." The head runs out of blasts. "...now. Let the fun begin!"

Lexi: "Aye, Aye, skipper!"

Ace: "Loonatics, unite!" The team moves toward the fog in the distance.

Vikings: "Ha, ha, ha! Look at the cowards run! With them gone, no one will stop us!" Then a light flashes through the fog and a massive speed boat with a weapon's arsenal emerges from the fog with Ace, Lexi, and Rev at front, Slam and Rip in the center, and Tech and Duck at back with Tech at the wheel.

Ace: "Tech. you've outdone yourself!"

Tech: "You can say it; I'm a genius."

Ace: "Launch the torpedo!"

Tech fires one torpedo and it heads straight for the Viking vessel.

Duck: "So long, ice geeks!" Before the torpedo could hit, the Viking vessel suddenly flies into the air, dodging the torpedo. Slam calls out his disbelief.

Rip: "Yeah, Slam. We didn't see that coming either!"

Ace: "Flying Vikings?"

Tech: They won't be flying for long!" Ace looks excited and Tech activates the flying feature for the boat. They get over the vessel.

Ace: "Take 'em out, Tech!"

Tech: "Engaging destabilizing crappy disk!"

Ace: "Now!"

Tech: "Something's wrong with the launch mechanism. It won't respond."

Ace: "Take over, Slam!" Slam removes the disk and throws it down on the vessel, splitting into multiple bombs on the way.

Lexi: "Anchors away!" The bombs strike the vessel, causing it to crash into the water.

Ace: "I love those explosions!"

The team searches the vessel. The two Vikings on the vessel were taken out, but the rest are absent.

Ace: "With their ship down, do you think the big freeze is over, Tech?" The Viking then rusts quickly.

Tech: "Hmm, all their power seems to come from the horns on these helmets."

Ace: "Anyone else on board Rev?" Rev searches the vessel with his speed.

Rev: "Well let's have a look. All clear at the bow and stern and no Vikings and no spit rods. No one else."

Lexi: "So where'd they all go?"

Ace: "First we see them, now we don't. This game of Battleship was all a distraction. Hey, Rev. Can you give me a reading on them Nordic nut jobs? " Rev uses his GPS power and shows a holographic image of the Vikings approaching the power grid.

Rip: "They're heading for the Planetary Power Grid."

Ace: "That must have been what Zadavia was trying to tell us."

Tech: "Not to alarm anybody, but if they freeze the city's core-"

Lexi: "-then the whole planet will have one bad case of frostbite." The Vikings enter the power grid.

Gunnar: "The power core is ours. Our mission cannot fail." He uses his sword's ice power to break open the door. Inside, the power core is radiating with electricity. "Let the Ice Age begin! Set your weapons to maximum freezing!" The Vikings activate their weapons at full power and freeze the entire room, causing the city to blackout. The Vikings freeze the generator as the Loonatics arrive.

Ace: "Eh, what's up, horn heads?"

Gunnar: "Freeze them!"

Ace: "You picked the wrong planet to invade, ice cube!"

The Vikings attack and the Loonatics scatter, each getting at least one to fight. Lexi fight the orange one.

Lexi: "Come on, you overgrown trash can. Show me what you've got." She uses her Brain Blast to break the Viking apart. Rip fights one of the green ones

Rip: "Alright, you rusted tin can. Let's see what you can do!" The Viking strikes at Rip with his mace and Rip dodges. The Viking strikes again and when he brings his arms down, he realizes he didn't hit the road bird, in fact, he's not holding his mace. He looks up, and notices his mace in the air. Rip uses his power to control the mace in striking the Viking all over it in quick fashion until it's a pile of debris. "Not so good."

Duck takes on three Vikings and somehow keeps his own. He throws an energy ball at the face of one Viking, blinding it into running into another Viking. "Come on! How hard is it to deep fry a duck?" Tech, Rip, and Ace then back into each other while a Viking charges at them.

Ace: "Listen, we need to turn the tables and make things hot!"

Rip: "You got it, Ace!"

Tech: We'll reprogram it! Just keep them busy." The Viking strikes down and they all jump out of the way. Ace give a powerful kick on the Viking, knocking it down and breaking it's head off. Tech grabs the head and he and Rip head to the generator to hotwire the helmet to the generator.

Ace: "Get them to use their freezing powers!" One Viking fires ice blasts at Lexi who dodges each one with ease.

Lexi: "Sorry! Nope! Afraid not! Your turn Slam!" Slam smiles in excitement and gives Gunnar a mocking taunt. Gunnar turns in anger.

Gunnar: "You dare!?" He and Slam attack with all their might with their rays with Gunnar again winning the duel. Lexi dodges another blast with a big back flip. Tech and Rip work as fast as they can to hotwire the helmet to the generator, being careful not to screw it up. Ace is then surrounded by the remaining Vikings.

Ace: Tech? Rip? I'm in position. Please tell me you're almost ready?"

Rip: "Almost there!"

Tech: "You can't rush brilliance."

Ace: "No, but you can give it a swift kick in the can." Ace engages the Vikings with true warrior skills, kicking one down, and blasting another with this laser vision. "Another Viking bites the dust! And another!" Gunnar is furious.

Gunnar: "I've had enough of you, bunny!" Ace smiles in victory. Gunnar strikes down, and Ace dodges. Ace uses the wall to put all his force into a massive kick, knocking Gunnar toward the generator. Rip and Tech manage to finish the hotwiring.

Rip: "Got it, Ace!" Tech plugs it into the machine. Gunnar lands on the generator, causing his power to give out a surge of electricity. Tech, holding the helmet, gives a worried look as the surge approaches.

Tech: "Rip, get out of here!" Tech pushes Rip out of the way in time before the surge connects with Tech and the helmet, causing Tech to cry out in pain as the surge connects with the helmets of the other Vikings and eventually, breaks the ice off the machinery and restores power to the city.

Ace: "We did it! It worked!"

Lexi: "The energy from the Vikings has recharged the power core." Duck walks around with a little pout.

Duck: "Aw, Tech, Rip! I was just about to let 'em have it!" Tech's voice sounds from under a helmet.

Tech: "Talk about taking one for the team." Duck lifts the helmet up, revealing Tech as a husk and giving a weak moan.

Duck: "Tech?" Tech then regenerates. Rip walks over.

Rip: "You alright, Tech?"

Tech: "Yeah, but still a little shaking."

Back at HQ, the Loonatics were enjoying the rest of the day off. Ace went back to meditation, Duck was looking for a name, Rip finished repairs on the jetpacks and was laying on the couch reading a book on mechanics, Rev and Lexi were on bean bag cushions, while Tech was having pizza.

Duck: "Thunder Duck. Dazzling Duck? Dancing Duck. No, um, Super Duper Duck."

Tech uses a small pizza cutter to cut the pizza into eight slices. It removes a piece for him and he takes a bite. The smell of the pizza reaches the vents and sniffing is heard, along with Slam's grunting. His excitement causes a rumble and everyone turns to see Slam jump through the door for the pizza. Tech controls the pizza cutter to clam Slam's mouth shut.

Tech: Uh, uh, uh, Slam." A hologram of Zadavia then appears and the Loonatics gather around.

Zadavia: "Loonatics, I just had to personally say to each and every one of you. Job well done. The Ice Age is averted. The techno-Vikings are destroyed and Acmetropolis is saved. Thanks you, Ace, Rev, Rip, Lexi, Slam, Tech.' Duck waits for his name, but nothing. "Good work, team. Zadavia out."

Duck: "That's it? How could she forget about me? I was standing right here!"

Lexi: "Don't worry about it, Duck. You were fantastic!"

Rip: "Oh yeah, heroic."

Rev: "Not to mention brave."

Duck pushes a button calling Zadavia.

Zadavia: "Yes?"

Duck: "Hello, Ms. Zadavia. Didn't you forget something?"

Zadavia: "Yes I suppose I did. No more memos about changing your name. Danger Duck is self explanatory and easy to remember. And one more thing, it matches your personality. Request denied. Good day."

Danger Duck looks down in embarrassment while Ace gives a helping hand.

Ace: "Well, at least it's better than what she used to call you." Duck then accepts the name Danger Duck.

Danger Duck: "Fine. Danger Duck. I can live with that."

Ace: "Good. Cause we like it too."

The other Loonatics join Ace and offer support to Duck.

The credits role with a picture of the Loonatics of Rip, Rev, Duck, Tech, Ace, Lex, and Slam from left to right.
