Between Going Underground and The Comet Cometh
A few weeks had passed since the Loonatics defeated Dr. Dare and they were enjoying another long break from crime fighting. Dare's stoned body looked like a simple attraction in the park and the children were enjoying it like any day. The Loonatics were all hanging out in the lounge.
"Well, team." Ace says. "A few more trouble makers taken down and this still feels like a vacation.
"Sure is." Lexi says. "Who would have thought that this superhero business would be so easy?"
"No one did." Duck says. "Perhaps it was bound to be that way."
"That would be highly improbable." Tech says. "All our training made it that easy."
Slam give some grunting and smiles that agree with Tech.
"Well, being smart and fast can do the trick." Rev says. "I mean, it was because of the meteor that we came to be like this."
"Yeah. The meteor did cause all this and changed our lives." Rip adds. "While it also gave rise to some super criminals, we stood strong and took them down."
"Exactly." Ace agrees. "Good things can lead to bad things leading to more good things. Before the meteor, we all had lives that just weren't right for us. After it hit, we were all brought together with these gifts and our lives have gotten so much better."
"Sure." Lexi says. "Becoming a superhero was the best day of my life."
"Let's see what's on the news." Tech says and he clicks the remote.
The TV turns on to the news channel.
"As we approach the one year anniversary of the meteor strike, we have an important announcement to the people of Acmetropolis from the mayor." The newsman says. "She has announced the the team called the Loonatics will be honored with as national heroes to celebrate the positive changes that came from the meteor strike. It will be held in Central Park at noon."
"Well, whaddya know?" Duck says excited. "We're being recognized as heroes!"
The Loonatics give a cheer.
"A great way to celebrate one full year as a different better person!" Rev says excited.
Then Zadavia appears.
"I assume you just heard the news?" Zadavia asks.
"We sure did, Zadavia!" Ace says.
"This is the result of all the hard work and training you put into this." Zadavia says. "Every threat that came, you vanquished. Through dedication and teamwork, you always pulled through. This celebration is perhaps the best that could ever be done to recognize everything you've done. Congratulations, Loonatics. Zadavia out."
Zadavia's hologram ends.
