The World Is My Circus
The sun had gone down and there was still light in the sky over Acmetropolis when the serenity of the city interrupted by the roar of a gigantic spaceship overhead. As it flies over, a magnified voice calls out and the people look up.
"Greetings, citizens of Acmetropolis. Feast your eyes on the Interstellar Orbiting Space Circus, the greatest show in the universe! Come, and meet the spectacular Galactic Oddities gathered from every corner of galaxy for your eye bumping enjoyment."
We go onto the ship and see an amusement park and a giant arena on top is filled to the brink with guests. The ring has a large pedestal with a sphinx over a gate. In the center is a large hole and out comes the host dressed in an eloquent ringmaster outfit with a large cloak.
"You'll be thrilled, chilled and astounded. So ram, don't walk, to the greatest show in the universe!" The crowd gives a cheer and applause as the host begins the show. "And without further ado, I give you the Galactic Oddities!"
Out of the gate under the sphinx comes the Oddities. They appear to be hybrids. The first is a combination of a rhinoceros and elephant with purple and red, the second is of a crocodile and goat, the third is of a bison and cheetah and the fourth is of a falcon and another rhino. They each proceed to the ringmaster who activates his rod and they perform tricks and proceed to run circles around him.
"These bizarre creatures were found wandering the Astro Nebula of the Lobrakian Galaxy!"
The show continues as the four creatures all ride together on the big ball and twist into different poses and positions. Then, a smaller ringmaster cuffed to a wheel is brought up.
"Don't try this at home, kiddies! Otto the Odd is a trained professional."
The rhino/elephant hybrid sucks up glowing yellow balls into it's snout and the ringmaster spins the wheel and the hybrid unloads all the balls at the wheel. They all land around Otto without hitting him a single time as the wheel stops upright and the crowd gives a round of applause.
The show ends and the crowd departs into the amusement park. Meanwhile, Otto and the Ringmaster are watching from monitors on the bridge of the ship. Ringmaster looks with interest as the monitor zooms in on a boy with a balloon. It does a scan of his DNA and gives a positve result.
"A perfect specimen." Ringmaster says with delight. "Hit him with the Sonic DNA Scrambler."
Otto gives an excited chuckle and pulls out a controller and gives the boy a change in his DNA. "How about a little crocodile in the mix?" Otto sadistically says.
The monitor is shown it's commands and Otto hits the boy with an invisible harmless ray that alters his DNA. As night falls and the moon is in the sky the boy and his parents are walking home when the boy's eyes suddenly give a red beep and he feels woozy.
"Oh, I don't feel so goo-" Tommy says as he suddenly transforms into a giant crocodile hybrid with two large Pronghorn horns and runs into a nearby alley.
"Honey, did you hear something?" The mother asks.
"Tommy?" The father calls out.
Tommy, unable to control himself continues down the alley where Otto and the Ringmaster appear. Ringmaster activates his rod and Tommy stops right in front of him. The rod is actually a mind control device that allows Ringmaster to control the hybrids.
"Welcome, my new Galactic Oddity!" The Ringmaster proclaims and gives a prideful laugh as the balloon flies away.
Sometime later, Otto is in the pen with food for the creatures.
"Hello, my precious, precious cuties!" Otto says in excitement. "Time for dinner."
Then, a chameleon/monkey hybrid runs past him.
"Hey! Get back here!" Otto says with shock and worry. He corners the hybrid and dives for it, but it jumps and Otto spills a food cart all over him. He looks up and sees the hybrid mixed into the wall like a chameleon. It escapes just as Ringmaster comes in.
"Otto! What's going on in here?" Ringmaster asks.
"Ugh! We never should have mixed her DNA with a chameleon lizard! That's trouble with a capitol T. How did it get out of it's cage?"
"I let her out" Ringmaster says with a bow. "She'll lead them right to us!" Ringmaster gives an evil laugh as we go to Loonatics HQ.
The Loonatics are all gathered at the meeting table with the hologram projector running waiting for Zadavia.
"Hey, Tech? Is that a new toy?" Lexi asks.
"My latest and perhaps greatest invention yet. The Gluco-Gel 9000." Tech says. "The plasma energy core fires an impenetrable gelatins substance, which provides a safe and effective way to trap all enemies."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Duck says with boredom. "Where is Zadavia? Did somebody forget to pay the holo-com bill again?"
"Patience is a virtue, Duck." Lexi says.
"What are you, a fortune cookie?" Duck counters.
"She's never been late before." Rip says.
"It's not like her to stand us up." Ace says with worry. "You sure we got the time right?"
"Positive, but I don't know what's keeping her." Rev says.
Then Lexi hears something.
"Put a sock in it, guys! I'm hearing something I don't like!" Lexi warns.
"Please, it's probably the sound of Slam's stomach gurgling." Duck says
He puts his hand to Slam's stomach and it gurgles. Then, the alarm suddenly goes off.
"Told you so!" Lexi smirks.
On the wall, the same hybrid lizard monkey appears and runs up to the Loonatics.
"Uh, what is that?" Duck asks.
"Some kind of chameleon from the looks of it." Ace says.
"A hybrid chameleon to be certain." Tech adds. "With monkey characteristics"
The hybrid jumps into Ace's hands.
"I think it likes you, Ace." Lexi says
"Hey, check out the collar." Ace says. He turns it and it says Space Circus Union# 3635 "It's from the Space Circus."
"Wow! A Galactic Oddity! Poor thing, it must of escaped and gotten lost." Lexi says.
"Ew! Don't touch it! It's probably infested with intergalactic fleas!" Duck says in disgust.
"I'd hate to see the fleas from that circus compared to the ones from the flea circus you bought months ago, Duck." Lexi says.
The group gives a chuckle.
"Well, guys, I think it's time to take a trip to the big top. Let's jet!" Ace says.
The Loonatics fly up to the Circus with the hybrid in a cage and Rev can't handle his excitement.
"Maybe we'll get free passes to the Space Circus for doing a good deed for returning an intergalactic oddity to it's home. It'll be cool! I love the circus, there's so much good stuff to eat! Candy and popcorn and delicious taffy, it'll be totally sweet, sweet, sweet!" Rev says with excitement. Tech uses his powers to bring the cage to him and he opens it.
"You're free to go, little one." Tech says. The hybrid then goes up to a doorway and calls out to them.
"I think she wants us to follow her." Ace deduces.
The Loonatics follow the hybrid through a hallway and come across the animal dens. Ace sniffs.
"Something in here smells fishy." Ace says when he gets to a tank den. A hybrid of a fish and camel comes up with a deep cry. "Oh, that would be you."
The monkey hybrid then runs up to a star wall and camouflages into it.
"What's gotten into her?" Rip asks.
"I hope she didn't lure us into trouble." Duck says.
The Ringmaster is filled with excitement. "Security, go and retrieve our new stars!"
The door at the end of the pens opens and a rhino/eagle hybrid steps through. The monkey hybrid runs up to a wall in fear.
"Maybe these guys can help. We have your lost friend. Can we get free passes to the Circus? That would be sweet sweet sweet sweet!" Rey says.
"But first, would you take your monkey friend back before we catch monkey flu?" Duck says with annoyment.
The rhino hybrid smiles and another rhino comes up behind and punches Duck clear across the hallway into a box.
"Hey! What's the big idea!? OK, now you asked for it!" Duck angrily says as he gets up. He readies a fireball. "Eat egg, wise guy!" Duck jumps and launches his attack, knocking the rhino across the hall.
Slam launches the other rhino back with his tornado and Lexi hits another one with her sonic blast. Ace knocks a fourth one back with a somersault kick before it can get Lexi and it crashes through a metal door. Ace checks.
"Huh, and in the center ring..." Ace says before the Ringmaster cuts off.
"I've waited a long time for this moment." Ringmaster gives a chuckle.
The Loonatics walk into the room that looks like some kind of lab. A large machine lies in the center of the room with 7 cylinders attached to it scattered all over the room.
"What? No clowns?" Lexi asks.
"Not even a dancing bear." Ace adds. "Fascinating. Tech check out the hardware."
Tech sits at the console and hacks into it to figure it out.
"How's the hacking, Tech?" Ace asks.
"Genetic manipulation codes." Tech deduces. The screen shows a DNA structure of animal and human DNA. "Human DNA mixed with animal DNA on a zoological spectrum. It's an experimentation log! A most disturbing one."
"You mean to say that all of the Oddities are experiments?" Rip asks.
"Not just that, bro. They're all from Earth!" Rev adds.
Lexi looks at a monitor showing the boy from earlier and she has a bad feeling.
"Let me get this straight, these freaks are human?" Lexi asks.
"Worse, they're all kids!" Tech concludes.
Then, the alarm sounds. The door behind them is sealed with a reinforced steel security door, trapping the Loonatics inside. Then the cylinders move off their pedestals.
"Watch out! It's a trap!" Ace calls out.
It's too late. The cylinders each move to one Loonatics, opens it's free side, sucks them all in and return to their pedestals.
The Loonatics try to break them. Ace uses his laser eyes to no avail, Lexi's sonic blast doesn't do anything, Duck's fireballs sizzle, Rip can't use his psychic powers and Tech's magnetism has no effect.
"Well, that's just great." Rip groans.
"These cylinders must have been designed to resist our individual powers." Tech deduces. Then Otto and the Ringmaster arrive.
"Brilliant observation. They don't call you Egghead for nothing." Ringmaster teases.
"That's "Doctor Egghead" to you!" Tech says while folding his arms.
"And what's your name, fancy pants?" Ace asks with a finger point.
"They call me the Ringmaster." Ringmaster introduces.
"Doesn't ring a bell. You may want to hire a publicist." Ace taunts.
"I am the greatest showman in the universe! And you, my friends, are about to become my new opening act!" Ringmaster declares with an evil laugh.
"Sorry, we'll pass." Duck says.
"Oh, you won't have a choice in the matter, feather brain." Otto says.
"Hey, Ringo, what's with the contraption?" Ace says as he sits down in his tube.
"I'm always trying to improve my big top. So, I had this device built to accommodate your unique genetic makeup." Ringmaster says and shows Ace a monitor on the machine that shows silhouettes of the Loonatics with two separate silhouettes of other animals, indicating what DNA they'll be mixed with. "It will manipulate your super powered DNA and transform you into monstrous hybrids under my control."
"Psycho!" Slam says.
"Oh, I'm with you, Slam." Lexi grunts.
"Oh, I'm not clinically insane." Ringmaster defends. "I'm a master performer."
"You are clinically insane!" Rip counters. "Kidnapping kids and mutating them into monsters you control!"
"Believe whatever you want, birdie." Ringmaster says. "When this is over, no one will suspect a thing." Then he leans to Ace's tube. "Oh, by the way, this is going to hurt - a lot. Otto, proceed."
Otto pulls two levers on the console and a large orb at the base of the machine glows with energy and sends a shock wave into each of the Loonatics cylinders and true to Ringmasters words, it really hurts. They all give painfull cries as their DNA is being mutated. They're already showing some changes to their bodies when Ace gets and idea.
"Tech, your Gluco-Gel thingy!" Ace says.
Tech pulls out his Gluco-Gel 9000 from a holster on his belt and aims it up into the tube's hole. "Here goes nothing!" He fires two shots into the hole and they go through the cables and land on the orb, causing it to short circuit.
"Otto, Otto what's happening?" Ringmaster questions with worry.
"He's gumming up the machine!" Otto says.
Then the machine explodes, knocking Otto and Ringmaster out and then the Loonatics are blown out too by a sapphire-colored twister. When it stops, it's revealed to have been indirectly used by Lexi and her appearance has changed. As the others get up, they are shocked to find themselves transformed into hybrids.
Ace has turned into a cheetah with deer antlers.
Lexi has turned into a skunk with frog arms and legs.
Duck has turned into a gorilla with antelope legs.
Tech has turned into an alligator with a muscular zebra's body.
Slam has turned into a lion with elephant feet.
Rev and Rip were turned into bats with bat wings and ears, and had pig noses and a rat's tail with Rev having scarlet colors and Rip having blue colors.
Ringmaster and Otto get up with several coughs. Ringmaster is furious. "You wrecked my Sonic DNA Scrambler, spoiled my main attraction, and I'm not sure but I think I chipped a tooth. For that you will pay dearly!"
"Ace, give him a laser blast!" Lexi says.
Ace focuses his eyes but suddenly conjures two fireballs and drops them in shock with a splat.
"Slam, give him a tornado!" Ace says.
Slam readies to spin but his eyes glow purple and gets a slight static shock, causing him to shake his head to regain focus.
"It's time for you to get in the center ring NOW!" Ringmaster declares.
He raises his scepter and it glowed, opening the cage doors of various hybrids like crocodile-goats, rhino-eagles and alligator-lions. Ace tossed a flaming egg on an alligator-lion, but had no effect.
"Uh-oh. I hope you like your eggs Sunnyside up." Ace jokes. They hybrid growls. "Heh heh, guess not."
Then Ace teleports onto the head of a rhino-eagle, then on top of the Ringmaster and then in Duck's arms.
"This is totally ridiculous!" Ace says with embarrassment.
"Excuse me, my powers are not ridiculous!" Duck calls out.
Lexi was running from a buffalo hybrid. Rev and Rip were running from a bunch of cans magnetically chasing them because they each got a piece of Tech's powers, and from an alligator-lion. Slam tried to fight an octopus hybrid, then tried brain blasting it, but he accidently struck Tech by the tail. Then the octopus hybrid struck Slam down. Lexi got caught up in her own tornado while trying to fight off a buffalo hybrid. Unable to control it, she hit Tech, and Tech hit the wall and landed on Duck, who accidently fired Ace's laser vision on Rev and Rip, disintegrating them into a pile of soot.
"Oh no!" Duck says with fear and runs up to the pile. "Rev, Rip. Guys! Speak to me! T-They're gone! And it's all my fault... I'm sorry for calling you a disgrace to the bird community. I'm sorry for stealing cookies from your secret stash."
But the brothers had Tech's regeneration ability and heard everything Duck said.
"Oh, so you're the one!" Rip angrily says. "We always suspected it was you but how could we just come out and accuse you without any proof?"
"Man it's been bugging me for months!" Rev angrily said. "I don't know why I'm surprised, really. Duck, if Rip and I had to pick ONE TEAMMATE WHO WOULD STOOP SO LOW IT WOULD BE YOU!"
"I liked you better when you were a smoldering husk!" Duck bemoans.
Then a rhino-eagle hybrid charges at the three. Rip moves into Rev and suddenly speeds away with Rev revealing he got his brother's speed. Duck's not so lucky and the hybrid knocks him into the wall.
"Alright, now I'm quaking' mad!" Duck declares. "Taste the wrath of my laser vision!"
Duck uses Ace's laser vision but misses the rhino-eagle who moves out of the way. The lasers keep firing as Duck turns towards the other Loonatics who jump out of the way.
"Watch it!" Tech calls out.
"Wah! H-He-HELP!" Duck distresses. "I can't control it!" Ace jumps as a laser shot blasts a hole in the floor.
"Duck, close your eyes!" Ace calls out. "It'll stop it!"
Duck closes his eyes and the lasers stop.
"We can't keep this up." Lexi groans. "And this Pepe Le Pew look definitely is not me."
"I never thought I'd say this, but, HAUL TAIL!" Ace orders.
The others jump down the hole in the floor. Duck keeps his eyes closed in fear of shooting more lasers
"Where? Which way?" Duck calls out.
A rhino-eagle prepares to strike him, but Rip uses his new speed to pull Duck away and toss him down the hole and he and Ace follow suit.
The Loonatics end up in a sewer like system at the bottom of the Circus.
"What's going on here, Tech?" Ace asks.
"My Gluco-Gel 9000 destroyed the DNA Scrambler." Tech answers.
"But not fast enough. I mean, look at us!" Ace groans.
"It also messed up our genetic codes which explains...why we've switched powers." Tech deduces.
Behind them, Duck still has his eyes closed but then opens them. Then the chameleon hybrid reappears and sits on a pipe next to him. It appears to taunt him.
"What are you laughing at?" Duck asks. "You got us into this!"
It gives a raspberry and Duck can't take it.
"Oh, this is the worst day of my life." Duck moans.
"Well, look on the bright side, it can't get any worse than this." Lexi says.
Then, right on cue, another hybrid appears in the waterway. It's a hybrid of a gorilla and a snake and very huge. It wraps it's long tail around the Loonatics and lifts them up.
"You had to say it, didn't ya?" Ace jokes.
"Ace, what's the plan?" Duck asks.
"Who's got Slam's power?" Ace asks.
"Oh, hey, that would be me." Lexi answers. Lexi spins a tornado that goes up the hybrid's neck and spins it around fast, knocking it out. It falls into the water. "I am so grossed out! That gorilla/snake licked me! Bleagh! I'm gonna need a hot bath quick."
"I likes that!" Slam says as he helps Lexi up.
"We need a plan and fast. I can't live like this!" Tech says.
"Alright." Ace comes up with a plan. "The way I see it, we need to rebuild the Ringmaster's Sonic DNA Scrambler and reverse the transformation. You up to it?" Ace says with a wink.
"Normally, it would take two days to rebuild a machine of that magnitude. But with Rev's superspeed, I'd say oh 5 minutes?" Tech deduces.
"OK then, make it four and a half." Ace says.
The Loonatics head back to the top of the Circus. They notice that the entrance to the lab is guarded by more rhino-eagle hybrids.
"Ace, those hybrid creatures have amazing hearing. We don't want to get their attention." Rev says. The creatures hear him and turn to them. "Uh-oh."
"Go, Tech! We'll cover for ya!" Ace orders.
Tech speeds into the lab and the others stay to deal with the hybrids. Three come each side.
"Rev, how does this speed work?" Rip asks.
"Simple, bro. Just focus on it in your mind and you're off." Rev says.
Rip focuses and he speeds into one of the hybrids, knocking it against the wall. He then speeds around the other two and makes them dizzy. He then returns to the group.
"Nice one, bro!" Rev congratulates.
"I'm really gonna miss going as fast as you, bro." Rip replies.
Slam tries brain blasting two rhino-eagle hybrids but can't hit them.
"How does this work?" Slam asks Lexi.
"Concentrate, Slam. Pretend that he stole your lunch and brain blast him! It will lock on to him." Lexi says.
Slam takes her advice and manages to hit one of the hybrids. Slam gives a cheer.
"That's it!" Ace says. "We can beat these guys if we all work together! Now that we know how to do each other's powers, this'll be fun."
Duck shoots a laser blast with no difficulty and hits one of the hybrids.
"Yes!" Duck cheers.
The Ringmaster is fixing his DNA Scrambler when Tech appears.
"Give it up!" Tech demands.
"You!" Ringmaster angrily says. He takes his rod and activates and energy whip from it and attacks Tech, but misses because Tech has Rev's speed.
"Ha! Too slow! Missed me! Try again!" Tech taunts. He then uses Rip's telekinetic powers to snatch the rod. "My turn!" Tech whips the Ringmaster into the wall, knocking him out. Tech then breaks the rod. "That's for calling me Egghead."
"How do you use this telekinesis, Rip?" Rev asks.
"Same as your speed, bro. Feel it in your mind." Rip replies.
Rev uses Tech's magnetism and throws a metal light pole that knocks down two hybrids.
"Nighty night. Lights out. Sweet dreams. See ya." Rev taunts.
Two more hybrids show up and Rev uses Rip's telekinesis to knock them into each other.
"Same to you two, too." Rev taunts.
Ace knocks down two more with Duck's egg blasts and Lexi knocks down the last one with Slam's tornado.
"My beauties!" Otto anguishes from the control room.
Tech then finishes a high tech glove version of the DNA Scrambler designed to turn the DNA of the subject back to normal.
"Huh, reconstructed in four minutes flat." Tech amuses as he puts on the glove. "The Genetic De-Scrambler, ready to de-scramble."
The Loonatics carry all the hybrids back to the holding pens and Tech starts turning them back to humans. For three minutes, all the hybrids are turned back into humans with the last being the gorilla/snake hybrid. Then the Loonatics gather around and Tech covers them all in the rays of the De-Scrambler and they turn back into their regular selves again.
"Ah, good to be back." Ace says.
"That all of them?" Rip asks.
Then they notice the chameleon hybrid on the wall.
"She's the last one." Tech says. He uses the De-Scrambler on the chameleon. But instead of a child, it's a female adult! One the Loonatics instantly recognize.
"I'm back. Hello, Loonatics."
The Loonatics are stunned into silence.
"No way." Slam says.
"It can't be." Rip says.
"Am I going mad?" Rev says.
"Is this real?" Lexi says.
"Zadavia?" Ace asks.
"This is really not the way I wanted our first meeting face to face to go, Loonatics." Zadavia confesses. "But we can catch up later." Zadavia then disappears into the darkness.
"I honestly was not expecting that." Tech admits.
"Me neither." Duck says.
The Loonatics then go after the Ringmaster who tries to escape through the ring. Ace blasts the door panel with a laser blast and the door seals shut. Ringmaster turns in fear.
"And that's a rap, circus boy." Ace declares.
"The show is officially over." Lexi declares.
Then Otto appears from the shadows.
"No. Actually, the show must go on!" Otto declares with a smile. "For we have one last surprise." Otto pulls out a device from his uniform. "Feast your eyes on our main attraction!"
Otto activate the device and a scrambling ray shoots out and strikes Ringmaster.
"No! No!" Ringmaster fearfully says and screams in agony as he grows and mutates into a giant hybrid of a balrog face, big fish, crab clawed, and tentacles.
"The Ringmaster is only the face of the circus. I'm the real brains under the big top! He works for ME!" Otto says with pride.
"Attack!" Ace orders.
Ace blasts a tentacle with his laser vision. Tech tries using the De-Scrambler, but the creature knocks it out of his hand before it can do anything. It lands a couple of feet away. Tech tries to retrieve it, but a tentacle smashes it.
"No! How could I let this happen?" Tech anguishes.
"I control this circus!" Otto says with excitement as he pushes buttons on the device.
Duck is teleporting around the creature easily dodging it's tentacles.
"Silly monster! Your tentacles are no match for Danger Duck!" Duck declares but a fist smashes him into the floor. "But your fist is a contender."
Rev tries running around the creature looking for a weak spot, but the creature manages to knock him down against the wall, stunning him. The creature prepares to strike Rev again.
"Rev!" Rip calls out.
Rip uses his telekinesis to stop the fist, but the creature knocks him away with a tentacle. It prepares to strike Rev again. Out of instinct, Rip suddenly speeds to Rev and pulls him away from getting crushed. He stops a safe distance away.
"Whoa, Rip. Did you just run like I do?" Rev says in surprise.
"I think I did." Rip says in similar surprise. "But how?"
They are interrupted by the creature attacking them and they speed out of the way.
"Well figure it out later." Rev says.
"Agreed." Rip says. "Fight now, figure out later."
They then go help Ace.
Slam grabs one the crab claw of the hybrid and rips it off. The creature regenerates a new one. Slam tosses the broken claw at the creature. It bounces off hits Otto and drags him across the ring.
"Whoop." Slam says.
Otto crawls out and see's that his controller had been destroyed.
"Oh, curses!" Otto anguishes. "What have you done?!"
The creature then breathes fire at Lexi and she back flips to safety. The Loonatics gather around.
"OK, now I'm getting annoyed." Lexi jokes.
"Without the Genetic De-Scrambler, how are we gonna stop that hybrid?" Rip asks.
"Sound waves trigger the DNA transformations." Tech deduces. "We need to create a sonic boom."
"Sonic boom, huh?" Ace sound excited. "Yo, Slam, twist and shout!"
Slam then spins his tornado around the creature, covering it's lower half.
"Ok, Rev and Rip, your turn!" Ace says.
Rev and Rip then speed with Slam's tornado and complety cover the creature.
"Now, hit it hard with everything you got!" Ace orders and the others launch their attacks in an all out attack.
They are able to create a sonic boom strong, but it's far too strong.
"OK, back off, Loonatics!" Ace orders and they stop. "The sonic vibrations will knock the big top out of the sky!"
Sure enough, the vibrations are so strong, it causes a chain reaction that causes the ship to explode. The big dome shatters and the ship starts dropping from the sky. At the same time, the sonic boom manages to turn Ringmaster back to normal.
"Uh-oh, looks like the Space Circus just ran out of space!" Duck says
The flaming Space Circus crashed into the water near Acmetropolis without damaging any of the buildings. The Loonatics were tossed to one side during the crash and landed on top of each other. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the crash. As they Loonatics got up, they noticed Otto and Ringmaster running away.
"Guys! Shorty's on the run!" Lexi calls out.
Tech takes out his Gluco-Gel and two blasts at the two and entrapped each in cubes of gel, while Otto gave Ringmaster an angry look.
"That was a lucky shot, Tech." Lexi says.
"True genius is never appreciated." Tech says as he stylishly sheathed his Gluco-Gel in his holster and folded his arms.
Then the Acme Rescue Units showed up to take the children back to their families.
Back at Loonatics HQ, Tech is running a scan of Rip's DNA in the lab while the others watch.
"Scan's finished." Tech says and he turns off the machine. "According to the data, when your DNA was mixed with Rev's DNA, it seemed to leave a small piece in your code even when you were turned back to normal."
"So, now, I can run like Rev does?" Rip wonders as he gets out of the machine.
"Precisely." Tech confirms. Rev hugs his brother.
"Oh, wow!" Rev says excited. "My little brother can run like me!"
"Congratulations, Rip!" Ace says.
Everyone else chimes in.
"So how exactly did it work?" Duck asks.
"Well, it seemed that Rip couldn't run like Rev because it was locked inside his code, unable to unlock." Tech theorized. "When the Ringmaster's Sonic DNA Scrambler altered Rip's DNA with some of Rev's, that's when the power was unlocked."
"My DNA was the key?" Rev realizes.
"Indeed it was." Tech says. "All it needed to unlock Rip's super speed was for the DNA to get into his code."
"Wow." Slam says with amazement.
"To think that those two harlequins' machine would do something good." Lexi says.
"Wow, I don't know what to say now." Rip says with relief. "It's gonna take some time to get used to being able to run now."
"Oh, don't worry, Rip." Rev assures as he puts his hand on Rip's shoulder. "I'll help you all the way."
Rev and Rip hug.
"Zadavia's about to call." Ace says.
The team head to the meeting table and Zadavia appears.
"Greetings, Loonatics." Zadavia says. " I want to congratulate all of you for bringing down the curtain of this circus show."
"It was certainly a rocky road for this one, Zadavia" Ace says. "It was also quite a shock to see you there. How did they get you?"
"I do not know how they found me, and I am ashamed that it happened." Zadavia says with disappointment. "And of all the forms they could have done, it had to be a small monkey lizard."
Slam grunts in anger.
"I'm with you, Slam" Lexi agrees.
"But I will say it was a little amusing." Zadavia says toward Duck.
"Did you really have to do it?" Duck asks with embarrassment.
"I couldn't resist." Zadavia chuckles.
Everyone else laughs.
"Did I hear right that Rip can run like Rev now?" Zadavia asks.
"Yep. With a little help from the Scrambler." Tech says.
"I must say that was a magnificent development." Zadavia muses.
Rev and Rip smile.
"The families of all the children express profound gratitude to you." Zadavia says. "And the circus is no longer in town. Again, congratulations, Loonatics. Zadavia out." The hologram ends.
"So, any plans for tonight?" Ace asks.
"TV shows of the 21st Century Night." Duck says.
"Done." The team says.
They dress in their pajamas, get popcorn and drinks ready and pull out DVD's and watch Justice League throughout the night for a slumber party.
