It was the middle of the night, and Millie and Moxxie were sound asleep in their bed. Suddenly, the sound of a baby crying woke them up. "I've got it," Moxxie said as he was about to get out of bed.
"No, I'll take care of it," Millie said as she put her hand on his shoulder. "You get yer sleep." Moxxie smiled at his wife as she kissed him on the cheek before getting out of bed herself. As she went out into the living room, she could tell that the crying was coming from the two-month-old Jessie's crib. When she came to the crib, however, the crying stopped and was replaced with laughter.
"Look at you," Millie said as she picked up her son. "Laughing instead of cryin' just by lookin' at me. You must have really missed yer ma." She rubbed her nose against Jessie's when she noticed Amanda in the crib next to him making sounds. "Daw, do you wanna see Mama too, Amanda?" She picked up her daughter with her other arm, and when she did Amanda giggled, which made Millie smile.
"You two are amazing." She sighed as she looked at her beautiful children.
Millie got some milk in a bottle and gave it to Jessie, who eagerly gulped it down. While he was having his fill, she would have some quality time with her daughter. This time included throwing her up as gently as possible and catching her midair, which Amanda enjoyed a lot. The sound of her giggles brought joy to the imp's heart.
Eventually, Jessie finished his bottle, and Millie decided to have some fun with him too. So she put Amanda down before picking her son up and putting him on her back so that his feet were around her neck. She then proceeded to nay like a hell horse and gallop around the house, something that her pa would do with her as a kid. Jessie seemed to enjoy it, and even Amanda was giggling as she was watching her mom. Of course, she would switch off Jessie for Amanda, and the little one had just as much fun riding the mom horse as she did watching her brother ride it.
A while later she would put both kids next to each other and stand in front of them before doing another thing her parents used to do, imitate Wrath's wildlife in the goofiest way possible. Lin and Joe would do this to make sure that if their kids came face to face with one of these creatures, they wouldn't be as scared facing them.
Millie wiggled her upper body around to imitate the one of a Spidersnake, however in doing this she looked like a wacky waving inflatable tube guy. And when she bared her fangs, she made sure to cross her eyes to look as silly as possible, which worked since the kids started laughing.
The next creature that Millie imitated was a Sandworm. She got onto the floor and wiggled around, making sure to look as ridiculous as possible. And when she came up from the "sand" she would once again cross her eyes and wiggle her tongue around. Sandworms didn't have tongues, but the kids were laughing so it didn't matter.
Millie continued to do this with various other critters until she ran out of ideas. She would then spend the rest of the night with the children doing things like reading to them or just holding them as she walked around the apartment. Eventually, she would sit them down once again and get on their level.
"Y'know, when I found out I was pregnant with y'all I was so scared." She said to her children. "I didn't know if I woulda been a good parent for ya. All I knew what to do were kill things and herd 'em… and write some stories that I was too scared to show anyone besides your pa."
Millie giggled as she looked at Jessie, who was waving his hands around. "But now, just looking at ya makes me so damn happy. You and yer pa are the most important people in my life right now. So I'm gonna make a promise to ya two. I promise to love the shit out of you. And I'll help you in any way I can if ya ask me to. Need to get into a school ya want, I'll help ya with the money. Want to get into a job, I'll threaten whoever I need to ta make sure you get it. You kill someone important, accident or not I'll get Aunt Sallie to hide the body. All I ask for is that… you understand how much me and your pa love ya, no matter what."
"Mama," Amanda said, which made Millie giggle.
"Thank you, sweetie." She said as she tickled the girl on the nose. Millie then put the kids back in their cribs, as Jessie was about to fall asleep. After saying goodnight to each of them, she turned to head back into her room, only to find Moxxie standing at the doorway.
"You've been busy tonight, I see." He said. Millie just smiled as she hugged her husband. They then walked over to the couch and sat down, with Millie sitting on his lap. "That was a sweet promise you made to them."
"I hope you promise that too," Millie replied.
"Of course, I'd do anything for all of you. And hey, you're a great mom."
"Thanks, sweetie," Millie said with an even bigger smile before kissing her husband on the lips. "I love ya so much."
"I love you too," Moxxie replied before continuing their kiss. Soon Millie would fall asleep on his chest. Now there wasn't much one could do when they had a beautiful badass wife sleeping on them, so he just held her in his arms and nuzzled against her hair.
