Chapter 48: Foraging for Trouble
"Here we are, Leaf Storm Zone," said Naruto as he flew over a large forested area on his Dragoon, making a descent towards a clearing to land on be watching the glider fly away and await his call. The kitsune looked around and took in a deep breath as he smiled in contentment of the nature surrounding him due to being a sage amongst other things. He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and read off the list, Nicole emerged from the SAC and read over his shoulder.
"Hmmmm, these herbs could be found if we're to go deeper into the forest," said Nicole.
"I see, then it's time for some exercise if that's the case," said Naruto with a smirk before crouching slightly and taking off at high-speed.

Naruto sped along the pathway and down a slope where he launched into the air via a spring at the end of it to vines of trees which were actually strong enough to act as rails for Naruto to grind along to the other side when he dashed down a vertical wall to a straight path then zipping through a corkscrew tree trunk, Naruto boosted of a dash panel to go through a giant downhill loop and bouncing up a spring to reach an upper level where he came across something unexpected but not surprising.
"Egg Pawns, what are they doing here?" said Naruto with a quirked eyebrow
[Apparently, Eggman is up to no good as always. No doubt he's around here somewhere] Nicole responded through the headphones in his ears.
"And here I was thinking that today was going to be a simple foraging, at least today won't be boring," said Naruto with a smirk "Nine Bladed Tails!" he dashed towards the unsuspecting robot as his tails hardened to become bladelike before hoping into the air to perform a 360 spin to slice it into pieces and releasing the animal trapped inside then boosted through a dash panel run up a ramped wall and through an upward guiding loop to run down on a vine-branch which would have send him plummeting to the bottom had his feet not been caught by a bungee rope which then bounced him high into the air while letting go midway to reach the next pathway overhead.
He dashed down the slope with increasing speed as he ran through a downward guiding slope to bounce of a trampoline at the bottom and continued onwards upon landing at the next pathway, Naruto ran up to grab a rope at high-speed for it to wind him around a spring till he was close enough to bounce off it and ascend towards a platform above him to resume his run. He boosted off another dash panel to run up a ramped wall to the top then down a vine-branch to be launched into the air by a bungee rope to the next area as he ran down the wall and redirected himself with a spring to speed through a corkscrew loop to the other side to launch himself once more into the air where a fleet of Egg Flappers caught sight of the kitsune and swooped in to attack him.
Naruto was about to make a move when Nicole emerged from the SAC to position herself in front of him as she projected multiple digital spears around her before launching them at the robots to corrupt their OS then destroy them entirely. "Swift release: Shadow Flight!" he dashed in midair while leaving behind a trail of afterimages then descending to land on a vined rail and grinding along it to the next pathway. Naruto ran through a downward guiding loop to running on the straight road as he boosted off a dash panel to launch off a dash ramp, pulling off several air tricks over a gap before landing on the other side.
Naruto moved to bounce off a spring at the end to the top where he channeled chakra to the soles of his footwear in order to run through a broken upward guiding loop and then dashing up a ramped wall to descending to the other side, he bounced off a trampoline at the end to grind along a vined rail. He saw several more Egg Flappers and gripped the handle of the Hazy-Moon before leaping into the air "Swift Release: Bladed Shadow Dance!" he moved along rapidly and lightly around the robots with the afterimages depicting an action on each of them before landing back on the rail and sheathing the blade with a metallic click as they fell to pieces with the animals having behind.
The blonde kitsune zipped through yet another downward guiding loop to the bottom and took note of a group of Egg Pawns ahead of him as well as thick wooden branches obstructing his path "Kitsune Fire Wheel!" Naruto radiated foxfire from his body and curls up for a spin dash before launching himself to blitz right through them like a bowling ball smashing through pins and uncurled in time to grab a winding rope and bouncing of the spring to reach the higher level. He went on to bounce of set of springs to descend to a lower pathway and moving forwards to bounce off another set back to the higher pathway as he ran down a hill then skidding to a stop to take a look around.

"Seems like we've come far in this zone," said Naruto musingly as he and the chao scoped the area.
Nicole emerged from the SAC in her fairy form and projected a Holoscreen to look at the map and saw several red dots "There are still some more of Eggman's Badniks further inside of the zone,"
"Then we'll just have to clear them all out so I can get back to foraging for these plants," said Naruto then he felt Kou tapping his head to get his attention "What's the matter Kou?"
"Chao chao!" Kou pointed over to the foot of a tree for Naruto to take a closer look and saw a plant which looks like the one Milla showed to him.
"Good eye Kou, might as well pick it up while I'm still here," Naruto went to take the plant and place it inside his ninja pouch "Now for me to see if there's anym-" he stopped in midsentence as he felt fear with Emotion Sensor Ability and looked to trace the source.
"What's the matter?" asked Nicole with concern.
"I sense that someone's in danger, we need to go now!" Naruto locked on to the emotion and took off at high-speed with the Nicole and the Chao hastily grabbing on in order to not get left behind.

Naruto dashed across the grassy path and bounced off the spring to reach the upper level and spawned a shadow clone to grab hold of him and flung him a long distance over the ground o bouncing of a set of springs to send him up to an upper area and resuming his run. He dashed up the slope to launch off a Dash Ramp and boost through a rainbow ring and performing an air trick before landing on the ground with a roll to shift into a spin dash as he went through a downward guiding loop to running downhill and barreling through several Egg Pawns in the way.
"Time to kick things up a notch!" Naruto activated his Air Aspect as a gentle gust of wind swirls around him "Airstream!" he proceeded to hover a foot above the ground before being propelled forwards by the winds swirling around him in the form of run-flight. He launched off a dash ramp into the air and boosting through another rainbow ring and landing on the ground to dash up a ramped wall through an upward guiding loop then down a vine-branch to be launched into the air by a bungee rope to cross the gap and land at the next pathway.
Naruto sped through a giant downhill loop towards the bottom and running of another vine-branch and used the bungee rope to reach up to a platform overhead then moved slightly ahead to bounce of a spring and grabbed a winding rope to ascend further up from its spring. He launched off a dash ramp over to the other side to use a bungee rope reach up to a vined rail to grind along it, zipping through a rail loop along with a combo of a shuttle loop into a downward guiding loop and redirected by a bounce spring, then he boosted off a dash panel to run through an upward-facing corkscrew loop to the top.
"Naruto, we have more enemies heading towards us!" said Nicole FF as she clung to his spiky hair, Naruto looked ahead to see a squadron of Egg Pawns being led by a larger purple variation wielding a bazooka.
"No worries I got this!" Naruto reached for Masamune and unsheathed it in a reverse grip right as the purple Egg Pawn fired a round at him but he sliced it into two for the halves to explode behind him before taking to the offense "Faithful Wind Blade!" he channeled wind energy into the katana to form a giant 10 foot condensed blade of wind formed along it. Naruto held the blade to the side till he was right in front in front of them before striking out with a horizontal slash as he dashed through them and they fell apart with the animals freed from within them.
"Not done yet!" one of Naruto's tail reached into the ninja pouch and took out a Hirashin Kunai to fling it towards a fleet of Egg Flappers flying towards them then warped to appear in the midst of them to performed a 360 slash with the technique still active to take them out before landing on the ground and sheathing the katana.
Naruto went on to dash up a ramped wall into an upward guiding loop and boosting off a dash panel to grind along a vined rail which sent him upward towards a high platform where he bounced off a diagonal spring to propel himself through a couple of dash rings then a rainbow ring, he proceeded to launch himself off chains of dash ramps to cross over gaps. He went on to dash through a shuttle loop into a downhill loop to grinding along a vined rail to the bottom of the hill through another upward-facing corkscrew loop to the top.
Naruto could sense that he was drawing closer to the emotion as he bounced down a set of springs to the lower platform, he boosted off a dash panel to run up a slop through an uphill loop then grinding along a vined rail which formed a rail loop before crossing over to pass through a giant downhill loop. The blonde kitsune heard as well as felt rumbling from behind and looked back only for his eyes to widen to see a giant black metal ball rolling behind them in pursuit, his eye twitched at the sight of the Eggman logo on it.
"Ugh, at this point I'm numb to this kind of things," said Naruto with a deadpanned expression.
"I'd prefer if you're a bit more concerned about staying alive right now," said Nicole warily with the Chao chirping worriedly.
"We've been chased by things worse than this one, heck I can hear Kurama snoozing in the mindscape at this," said Naruto, actually hearing the Bijuu snore at the back of his mind at the moment.
The kitsune increased his speed and was quickly pulling away from the giant metal ball till he reached the bottom of the slope and launched off a dash ramp to cross over a gap in which the metal ball fell into and landing safely on the side much to the relief of Nicole and the Chao before the slipstream technique wore off.

Naruto focused his sensing ability once more "We're almost there, better hurry," he took to the treetops for a better scope.
They arrived at the edge of a large clearing where they came across something which angered Naruto to the point that it woke Kurama who peered through his partner's senses and was angered as well.
In the middle of the clearing is a young female fox who seems to be at the age of ten, she has orange fur with purple hair and eyes with the tip of her tail also being purple, she wears a light purple dress with a green edge, white gloves with green cuffs, a pink scarf, a lotus flower on her hair, and light purple and green leg warmers which extend slightly over her bare feet. The girl was currently quivering in fear as she was surrounded by robots that Nicole is currently identifying.
The first is a robot which possesses a model structure similar to that of E-123 Omega except that it's equipped with jackhammer arms with a color scheme of light blue and gold with a pair of black plating, one per each shoulder. Nicole identified it to be E-106 Eta.
The second slightly resembles the first except that its body structure is based on a regular bird, it's colored grey with a white rectangular chest on its torso. It has a black and yellow hood cap, green eyes, and a pair of talons colored yellow. This robot is identified as E-108 Iota.
The third's body structure is based on a military tank as it's colored green with a rectangular chest on its torso. It has a black and yellow hood cap, greens, and a pair of cylindrical arms with four black drills on the inside and a lengthy tube connecting the torso to the tank treads which are colored green and black. This robot is known as E-109 Kappa.
The fourth one's body structure is similar to the Kappa except it's colored peach and orange with a yellow and black hood cap, green eyes, and a pair of three grey claws and possesses holes in its palms and a 'tail'. This robot is E-110 Lambda.
The fifth and final one's body structure is of that of a quadruped akin to a tiger, it is colored orange and black with a pair of black plating, one per each shoulder. It has a yellow hood cap like the rest, green eyes, and a laser blaster on the tip of its robotic tail. This one is called E-113 Xi.
"These are obviously creations of Eggman, they are of the E-Series which was where Omega originated from before he defected from Eggman. But why are they after that girl?" said Nicole with a small frown.
"We'll ask that poached egg after breaking his toys and making sure that girl's okay," said Naruto before throwing a Hirashin kunai in their midst and warping over to position himself in front of the girl "Get her to safety while I deal with these scrapheaps,"
"Right!" Nicole transformed into her full size and scooping the fox girl up in her arms and activated her digital wings to fly away.
The robots made to pursue but Naruto flared his chakra to maintain their attention towards himself "I'll be your opponent so let's have some fun, shall we?"

Naruto stood calmly waiting for any of the robots surrounding him to make the first move of which one of them being Eta rushed up to him and struck out with one of its jackhammer arms, he waited till the last second before jumping to the side for the attack to hit where he stood and the piston triggered to create a crater upon impact, the kitsune caught sight of movement from his left and looked to see Xi pouncing at him with its sharp claws. Naruto was backstepping whilst tilting his upper body from side to side in order to avoid the claw swipes from the robot then his ears perked up upon hearing Eta approaching from behind with another punch and so used Shadow Step to evade the pincer attack and reappeared in midair.
*Shriek*
Without looking, "Foxfire Spinjitzu!" Naruto spun rapidly whilst releasing foxfire fire from his body to create a fiery whirlwind around himself which deflected an incoming tackle from the Iota which quickly stabilized its flight and retaliated by firing a pair of homing missiles at him. Naruto channeled chakra into the ECG-X gloves to form a pair of windmill shurikens which he threw to slice the missiles in half and detonated them in the sky, he landed on the ground and quickly rolled out of the way of an incoming punch from that of the Lambda, next thing he knew was that several black bombs landed around him before triggering a chain of explosions, the smoke cleared away to reveal a charred wooden log and Naruto standing a fair distance away whilst glaring at the Kappa hanging from one of the trees.
"Hmmm, looks like each focus on an aspect like speed, power, close range and long range attacks along with coordination. Gotta admit that I'm a bit impressed with this new batch of Eggy's toys," said Naruto musingly.
"Any ideas for them?" asked Kurama drowsily.
"Just being the unpredictable ninja I always am,"
"Why did I even bother asking?"
Naruto activated his Earth Aspect with large pieces of stones begin floating around him "Bedrock Rhino Rush!" he stomped a foot on the ground for a large rock in the shape of a rhino's head to rise in front of him then performs a palm thrust to send it barreling towards Eta who shatters it into pieces only to reveal Naruto as he launches off the robot's outstretched jackhammer arm into the air with the shattered stones orbiting around him towards the Iota "Terra Vulcan!" he then launches the small stones floating around him rapidly at high-speeds towards the Iota like Gatling bullets with the robot banking from left to right to evade the shots whilst firing laser beams to destroy any ones that came close to hitting it.
The kitsune landed on the ground and was once again evading punches from the Kappa, he sharply ducked under a punch and took a quick step forward "Terra Punch!" stones encapsulated his right arm to form a stone gauntlet as he landed a powerful punch on the robot's torso to send it skidding backwards from the impact. Naruto immediately spun round whilst channeling chakra to the ECG-X gloves to form a pair of claws to parry claw swipes from the Xi, Naruto took note of the tail suddenly pointing at him and his eyes widened when it shot a laser beam which pierced through his chest before he went up in a puff of smoke. There was a white flash of light then the tail was cut off while revealing Naruto nearby as a white halo hovers above his head as starlight sparkles around him as he wielded a blade of light to depict the use of the celestial aspect.
"Look man, I got a serious love for the color orange and you doing this kind of things while sporting such an awesome shade is tainting its sacrilege, which is why I'm gonna destroy you," said Naruto with utmost seriousness. The Xi lunged at him once more to attack with its claws, Naruto had Hazy-Moon float into his hands and took an iai stance as he channeled celestial energy into the blade "Holy Absolution!" Naruto disappeared before the robot only to reappear behind it as multiple white afterimages could be seen streaking through it before merging with Naruto who sheathed the blade with a metallic click with the robot falling apart into many pieces "That's one down!"
The robots now placed Naruto on a higher threat level as they moved in to attack with Iota launching a barrage of homing missiles and laser blasts towards Naruto who formed circular shields from the ECG-X gloves to deflect the incoming lasers whilst using a tail to take out the water pouch from his ninja pouch to attach to his waist and pop the cap open for him to activate his water aspect with a puddle of water appears around his feet with bubbles rising into the air from it "Whirlpool!" the water shot out from the puddle to form a spiraling vortex which swallowed all of the missiles and destroyed them with the pressure "Water Snake!" a stream of water shot out of the vortex whilst taking on the shape of a serpent to swiftly constrict the Iota very tightly with metal creaking "It's over now, Water Whip!" a thin stream of water rose up from the puddle for Naruto to grab and spin around then lashing out at speeds enough to slice the robot in half "Two down and three to go!"
Naruto saw the Eta, Lambda and Kappa rushing towards him with a pincer attack and smirk in response before crossing the middle and index fingers of both hands "Shadow Clone jutsu!" there were puffs of smoke as copies of the kitsune appeared around the original "Keep em occupied,"
"Roger boss!" the clones complied before moving to engage the powerhouse duo whilst Naruto went after the bomber.
The Lambda saw the enemy approaching it and quickly leapt backwards into the air whilst launching volleys of bombs in his direction, Naruto switched to his wind aspect once more with stronger winds swirling around him this time as the kitsune manipulated the element to catch the explosives in midair and having them orbit around him "You've done enough damage to nature already, Flash Wind Chop!" he appeared before the robot in a blur with his right hand coated with razor sharp winds and lashed out to sever its arms and 'tail' then followed up with a roundhouse kick to launch it high into the air "And you can have these back!" he sent the bombs flying towards the helpless robot, destroying it.
"Getting there!" Naruto spun round to see some of the clones having been taking out but not without leaving behind dents, tears, and scorch marks on their opponents "Let's see if it can handle this!" Naruto dashed forwards at high-speed as he leapt high into the air and created a large number of clones which dove towards the Kappa with an assault of chakra enhanced punches and kicks, the original dove towards it last with a large blue spiraling sphere of energy in each hand "Giant Rasengan Barrage!" the Kappa swung both arms with the drills spinning at the same he rammed both spheres into them only to grind through them and soon the robot itself beyond repair.
"And then there was one," said Kurama.
"Yup," Naruto responded with a shrug of his shoulders "Want me to end this quick?"
"Please do so, at this point I'm feeling rather sorry for barely being a challenge,"
"Okay then," Naruto formed another giant Rasengan and threw a Hirashin kunai at the Eta only to warp towards it once close to the robot to ram the jutsu into its metallic torso, launching it into the air but was far from done for he threw the kunai again for it to fly past it, he reappeared to catch it again with another Giant Rasengan and slammed it into the robot's back, destroying it entirely from both sides with barely anything left.

Naruto landed back on the ground and looked around to see if there are any more enemies around before confirming that there aren't, then Nicole approached whilst carrying the girl with her and the Chao flew over to sit on the kitsune's shoulders.
"They've all been dealt, is she okay?" asked Naruto, looking at the little girl who was shyly hiding behind the Holo-lynx but peeking at him.
"I've examined her carefully and no harm had come upon her," said Nicole.
"That's good to hear, I guess we can properly introduce ourselves now that the danger is gone," Naruto gestured to himself with a friendly smile "My names Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, and these are my friends Nicole, and the Chao Kou and Yoru,"
The fox walked out from behind Nicole to stand before Naruto "…my name is Spicy the Fox, thank you very much for saving me,"
Naruto smiled in response "You're welcome, though could you tell us why those robots were chasing after you? We're rather familiar with the creator of them,"
Spicy looked unsure but spoke up nonetheless "I think it's because of what I could do," she took off one of her gloves and went to place her uncovered hand on a piece of metal which began to melt into liquid, much to the surprise of the others watching "I have acidic powers which can melt anything I touch and it doesn't hurt me,"
Nicole frowned at that "I can see why Eggman would pursue you because of your powers, the applications are potentially deadly should he capture you," Spicy nodded meekly as she put on the glove.
"Well, we better get her out of here to someplace safe and figure our next move," said Naruto with his arms crossed.
"…um, you don't really need to go this far to help me," said Spicy meekly.
The blonde kitsune knelt down to ruffle the girl's hair with a foxy grin "It's not that we need to Spicy-chan, it's that we want to," then he thought "Plus I can see it in your eyes, they speak of loneliness…,"
They were able to head out when there was a beeping sound coming from the ECG-X gloves to signal a call, Naruto raised a hand to project a Holo-Screen which displayed the caller id and saw it to be Sonic
"Hey Sonic, what's up?" said Naruto.
[Hey Naruto, been a while. I was taking a run through the Leaf Storm zone and trashed some Egg Pawns that were hanging around] said Sonic.
"Well what do you know? I'm also in the zone with Nicole-chan and we just rescued a girl from some of Eggman's slightly better toys,"
[Yeah well I run into the egg himself and sent him packing like always, but then…I ran into someone whom I never thought I would see again]
"Who are you talking about?" asked Naruto, only for his eyes to widen in shock, even Kurama snapped awake upon hearing Sonic's next words.
[I saw her Naruto…I saw Blaze]
This is Hussbek online with the latest chapter, Naruto and co have finally arrived at the Leaf Storm zone to pick up ingredients for Milla and Wendy's health potion. While there, they ran into Badniks belonging to Eggman and dealt with them accordingly and even rescuing a girl from an elite group of them. the girl introduced herself as Spicy who has acidic powers which rouse their suspicions on why Eggman is after. That was when Sonic called only to drop a bomb of an info on Naruto who doesn't know how to react to it.
Spicy the Fox is an OC character originating from the Sonic Fanon, the robots for the 'Boss Battle' are from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and could be found in issues #260-#277
There's been some slight changes to the harem list with characters omitted after much research.
