Chapter 52: Making a Big Splash

Sonic and Tails were currently speeding along the dirt road in search of the Chaos Emeralds, they were able to acquire four of the Emeralds so far from the Special Zones as they had to make use of Special Generators in different zones to gain access to them. the duo suddenly skidded to a stop upon seeing their route being obstructed by a large pile of rocks.

"There's been a rockslide here," said Sonic with a small frown.

"We may have to find another way," Tails suggested, they were just about to take a step away when suddenly a muffled voice called out to them.

"Hey…h-help me!"

Sonic turned to Tails with a look of confusion "Did you hear something?"

"Help me!"

"I heard it too, I think it's coming underneath those rocks," said Tails, they took a closer look at the rubble and were surprised to see who it is being buried "Wha-Knuckles!" they quickly dug him out with the echidna being covered in dirt.

"Man, I don't feel so good," Knuckles groaned out.

"Knuckles, how did you wind up getting stuck there?" asked Tails curiously.

Knuckles rubbed his head in pain and recalled something which caused him to frown at the question "It was because of her!"

Sonic quirked an eyebrow at that "Who are you talking about?"

"The purple feline with an attitude problem, I didn't recognize her but she was with Cream, Wendy and Milla when I spoke to her," Knuckles explained.

"Knuckles where did she go?" Tails inquired for information.

Knuckles' fists shook in anger as he snarled "Man, this makes me so angry. It makes me want to punch something!" he spun round and punched the rubble in rage, sending the rocks flying before stomping away from the duo.

"Knuckles?" Sonic called out awkwardly.

"He's gone," said Tails with a sweatdrop.

"You know, when Knuckles is angry…it's always difficult to talk to him,"

"True, but at least he cleared the road for us,"

"You're right, I get the feeling that Naruto and the others are making progress so let's do the same on our side,"

"Roger that!"

Sonic and Tails then took off at high-speed on the now unobstructed road to resume their search for the remaining Chaos Emeralds.

Elsewhere above the ocean, Naruto was currently riding on Dragoon with Nicole inside if the S.A.C but relaying directions to him. He looked down to see a fleet of several G.U.N. naval aircraft carriers and battleships out on the sea. Naruto had Dragoon perform a steep nosedive towards one of the battleships before leaping off to land on the deck with the glider flying away.

"Looks like we made it…hm?" Naruto took note of several armed humanoid robots which Nicole identified to be Gun Hunters turned to point their guns towards him "Why are they aiming at me besides the fact I'm technically trespassing,"

Nicole emerged from the S.A.C and scanned the robots before responding with a small frown "It's most likely the work of Eggman Nega, he must have overwritten the system their AI to listen to his commands,"

"Here's hoping that breaking some of their toys won't affect their budget too badly," said Naruto before crouching slightly before charging towards the robots.

"Swift Release: Shadow Rush!" Naruto immediately dashed forwards at the robots right as they opened fire to evade the shots fired till he was right before them and unleash a barrage of punches and kicks at highspeed with afterimages depicting his movements and actions, destroying them with hardly any time wasted.

He took off at high-speed with the path then going downhill to lead him below deck where he performed a couple of chakra-powered punches to smash through some pillars blocking his way, the route suddenly curved steeply for the blonde kitsune to run upside-down before descending horizontally down a wall. He somersaulted off to grind along a rail and through a rail loop to the end as he ran up a ramped wall to bounce off several diagonal springs to reach the upper platform. Naruto ran up another ramped wall to moving along the ceiling before finding himself going into his spinball form as he entered a high-speed warp tube, he zipped through the metallic tube before exiting into the deck where he grabbed on to the hook of a mechanical crane for Nicole to remotely hack the machine to lift him upwards then rotating to drop him on another part of the deck.

A nearby Gun Hunter caught sight of Naruto and opened fire but Naruto crouched low for the bullets to fly over his head "Fox fireball!" Naruto conjured an orb of blue flames from his palm and launched it to destroy the robot. He dashed forward to launch off a dash ramp, somersaulting several times before diving back down below deck to enter a short warp tube to descend even further. The blonde bounced off a couple of springs to enter a room overhead where all the doors suddenly shut themselves closed, the two Gun Hunters and a new robot Nicole identified as a Bomb Hawk teleported in.

One of the GUN Hunters opened fire on him with its machine gun, Naruto leapt in the air to avoid the shots fired and activated his Lightning Aspect as blue bolts of electricity arcs through his body with a majority from his hands "Severing Flash Chop!" he used the lightning to increase speed as he dove at the robot and split it in half with a lightning chop. Naruto saw the second GUN Hunter about to attack and quickly countered "Lightning Bolt!" he thrust a hand forward to fire a large blast of lightning at the robot to take it out, he immediately dashed backwards to evade a bomb having been dropped onto him from above by the Bomb Hawk and was about to retaliate when Nicole flew forward and used Data Drain to render it inoperable and crash to the ground.

The doors reopened for the duo to exit from the room, Naruto dashed down a sloped path onto grind rail which curved upwards then through a rail loop before leaping off at the end towards a wall which he latched on to with chakra and ran to the top. The blonde kitsune came across large active pistons, he carefully made his way through them to avoid getting crushed before picking up speed as he ran up a ramped wall to bounce along several diagonal springs to reach the upper level. "Lightning Impulse!" Naruto transforms into a lightning ethereal to pierce through multiple GUN robots and pillars before taking an uphill path to the deck where he came across an inactive jet-powered sled meant for launching jetfighters.

A crazy idea came into mind with Naruto grinning widely, he hopped onto the sled which began to startup with a nearby screen displaying a countdown till it hit zero and the sled took off with rapid acceleration before stopping at the edge of the takeoff ramp to launch Naruto who was performing air tricks in the air before landing the next aircraft carrier. Naruto dove in headfirst through the open bay doors and landing with a roll before using the momentum to perform a high-speed Kitsune Spiral Dash as he blitzed through pillars and GUN Hunters with the Bomb Hawks attempting to attack by dropping explosives from above but he was moving too quickly for their attacks to connect.

He reached the end and got redirected by a spring in the wall to roll down along a wall to the bottom, Naruto dashed along the straight path before bouncing off a spring into the air to grab onto the hook of a crane for Nicole to remotely control it to lift him up to the higher floor. He swung off to land on a grind rail and rode along to somersault at the end to land at a section where he made his way around more giant pistons. Naruto boosted off a dash panel to run up a ramped wall then along the ceiling to enter a high-speed warp tube to shoot him up to the ship's deck and hang onto yet another crane hook for Nicole to control before lifting him up to the higher platform. Naruto came across another jet-sled and got on it, then the sled catapulted the blonde kitsune off the battleship and towards the next one.

"Any ideas where Eggman Nega could be?" asked Naruto as he shot jets of foxfire from his hands to glide in midair.

"It is most likely that he could be at the flagship where he could control the entire fleet from there," said Nicole.

"Then that's where we're headed!"

Naruto performed a nosedive towards the open bay doors of the aircraft carrier below to descend to the lower deck and landed with a roll before taking off at high-speed, he ran up a ramped wall to take to the air and land on a rail which he grinded along with it sloping up and down like the rolling hills before reaching the end and running down a ramped wall. He got redirected by a spring at the bottom with a burst of speed towards another spring to bounce upwards and was sucked into a high-speed warp tube to be dropped into a sealed room where GUN robots teleported in to attack him.

Naruto triggered his Celestial Aspect with a white halo hovering above his head and starlight sparkling around him, he dashed forward took evading the shots fired at him by constantly vanishing into a trail of white energy and sparkles of light then reappearing a second later at the end of the trail till he was close enough to attack "Light Gatling Bullets!" Naruto formed both hands into finger guns and proceeded to rapidly fire photon bullets at the robots then flipped backwards into the air with a follow-up "White Hailing Arrows!" Naruto manipulated his celestial energy to construct a bow before pulling a bowstring to form an arrow and let loose to fire the projectile as it split into many more, destroying them all.

The doors opened up for Naruto to make his exit and dashed down the sloped pathway before skidding to a stop at the end where giant pistons were moving up and down, he took to using them as rising platforms to reach the upper levels. He boosted off a dash panel to grind along a rail which took him to the top deck and landed atop a jet sled for it to take off at high-speed and catapulted him off the battleship towards the next one for him to land on.

He arrived at the next battleship and was on the move once more to descend through a downward path and hit a spring to redirect them down another path, Naruto ran up a ramped wall and kicked off it to grab onto a crane hook for Nicole have it lift him upward and swinging off to enter a high-speed warp tube. The blonde kitsune exited to land on a rail and grinded along it to go through two downhill rail loops before leaping off at the end with a somersault. He got to the engine section of the ship where there were no actual footholds so he resorted to using the giant pistons to get across to the other side but making sure that he doesn't end up getting crushed by them.

Naruto arrived at the hangar deck where the jetfighters are placed in storage to find that the main doors are closed and a large squad of GUN Hunters were waiting for him and Nicole, then panels in the ceilings and pillars slid open for gun turrets to emerge and aim at the duo. They all opened fire on them but Nicole emerged in front of Naruto "Digital Barrier!" she formed a shield made out of data to protect against the barrage of fire. Naruto went down on one knee and hovered a hand over his S.A.C, tapping the screen a few times before the Peacekeeper rifle rifle gifted to him by Torque materialized in his hands

"Full Auto!" Naruto spoke out, the rifle beeped in compliance before Nicole brought down the shield for the blonde kitsune to return fire with his finger holding down the trigger for rapid fire as he swept from left to right to take down the robot in large numbers "Static Bomb!" the Holo-lynx tosses an orb which unleashes a discharge to make the GUN robots temporarily unable to function "EM Hijack!" she launched blasts of EMP towards the gun turrets and remotely hack before having them fire upon the robots. Naruto charged up the Peacemaker with chakra to the max before taking aim "Chakra Blast Volley!" and pulled the trigger for the twin barrels to fire many chakra bullets towards the robots and was able to shoot all of them before magnetically holstering it to his back.

The duo located a mechanical crane nearby for Naruto to grab on to the hook and Nicole remotely operating it to lift him up to the flight deck where they stood to scope out the area with Nicole going further by examining the ship's database.

"The Flagship is just up ahead of us and I'm detecting activity there," said Nicole before swiping away the Holoscreen.

"No doubt it's ole Eggy doing who knows what, let's head on over and say hi," said Naruto, he hopped onto a nearby jet-sled and had it catapult him towards the flagship.

He fired jets of foxfire from his hands to glide slightly before landing atop an elevated platform of the flight deck, the blonde kitsune didn't have to look far as a mech appeared from behind the command tower of the battleship and approached them. the body was designed to resemble that of an anaconda with the head being green, a white top, orange striped body and orange like-fangs, and gray spikes on the neck. The top opened up and Eggman Nega emerged to sneer at the duo.

"Why if it isn't the orange fox and his kitty friend," said Eggman Nega.

Naruto crossed his arms with a small frown "It's Naruto and Nicole, at least offer the same courtesy of saying our names since you whined about us not doing so the first time,"

"I do apologize if I ever intend to mean it,"

Nicole spoke up "Why did you hijack this naval fleet?"

"To prove my superiority of course, as well as while away the time out of boredom," Eggmman Nega replied with a shrug.

"You did all this cause you were bored? That's nuts even for you," said Naruto.

"Like I care for your opinions, but since you're here obviously to stop me; I'd like to see if you can rise to the challenge against my Egg Hammer Fortress," said Eggman Nega before seating himself with the top closing back up.

"Challenge accepted, better not whine about the outcome," Naruto took a stance and readied himself with Nicole hovering next to him.

Eggman Nega made the first move as he had the Egg Hammer rear its head back and brought it down to crush Naruto, but the kitsune evaded by dashing to the side. The doctor scowled at this and repeated his attack consecutively but failing each time till Naruto suddenly used Shadow Step to appear above the mech to dive down and slam a powerful axe kick on the head but something seemed to have blocked his attack before flipping away to stand at a safe distance from any counterattack.

"Seems like he has put up an energy barrier," said Naruto with a small frown.

Nicole hovered next to him with matrixes of numbers streaming through her eyes before speaking up "There's an active energy barrier protecting the cockpit, but a strong EMP pulse should be able to disrupt it so you can attack directly,"

"Then I'll leave it to you, go invisible so he won't notice you," Nicole nodded in compliance and quickly activated her Shroud of Invisibility to conceal herself as Naruto launched balls of foxfire at the mech with Eggman Nega chortling at the attempt.

"A fool's resistance, prepare to be schooled!" the Egg Hammer reared and this time was moving in line with Naruto who moved left and right before bringing it down with great force, Naruto waited until the last moment then he threw a Hirashin kunai overhead and warped away in a yellow flash to appear in midair to catch the kunai and watched as the impact shook the entire battleship.

"I'm ready!" Nicole reappeared with a cyan orb of energy held in between her hands while flying right above the Egg Hammer "E-Bomb!" she fired the attack at the mech, causing it to shake with cyan arcs of electricity coursing through it "Now's your chance to attack!"

"Alright then!" Naruto dove in and landed atop the cockpit, he punched his fist together to ignite them with foxfire "Azure Bullet Punch!" he began to punch rapidly akin to that of a machine gun before interlinking both hands above his head and brought it down with a double axe handle strike to leave a crack on the reinforced glass. The barrier reactivated, knocking Naruto off back onto the platform.

"Why you little mutt!" Eggman Nega piloted the mech to the further end of the ship and placed the cockpit onto a circular platform "Let's see you handle this!" he took control of the ship's gun batteries and fired rounds at the duo.

Naruto unholstered the Peacemaker and channeled chakra through it "I don't think so, Meteor Shower!" he hovered a feet in the air and launched small star-like projectiles rapidly which homed in on the incoming rounds and destroyed them in midair "Take this, Techno Blast!" he fired a blue beam of energy straight at the cockpit with the barrier blocking it but strained, Eggman was forced to reattach the cockpit to the main serpentine body.

"Why you," Eggman Nega then summoned GUN Hunters and Bomb Hawks to appear and attack the duo, Naruto holstered the Peacemaker to his back again and unsheathed both Masamune and Hazy-Moon before staking a stance with Nicole flying overhead in support "Lunar style: Crescent Strike; Dual Phase!" he held the blades in reverse grips then performed a double 180 spin to slash at the surrounding robots twice "Nine Bladed Tails!" he hardened his tails to become bladelike before spinning round to cut down several more "Digital Projection!" Nicole contructed two large claymores out of data and remotely swinging them from left to right, taking down several more robots then activated her Digital Wings to quickly ascend towards the Bomb Hawks "Digital Torrent!" she thrusts her hands forward to fire a continuous stream of pixelated projectiles to shoot the drones down.

Naruto was busy cutting more of the robots when his ears twitched and looked up to see the Egg Hammer about to slam right on top of him "Oh no you don't, Swift Release: Shadow Dance!" he immediately moved along rapidly and lightly away from the incoming blow and at the same time avoided the shots fired at him with afterimages depicting his movements. He sheathed his blades and formed a handsign "Rasengan Super Barrage!" he created numerous shadow clones armed with a Rasengan each to charge at the targeted enemies to unleash an overwhelming storm upon them. energy barrier having been defending against the assault was unable to endure anymore and on the brink of deactivating.

Eggman Nega looked up and sweated from the sight of Naruto descending towards him while looking at him straight in the eyes "It's over with this, Zantetsuken!" he grabbed the unsheathed Masamune with one hand and drew out the blade in one swift motion before landing back on the platform, he swiped the blade a few times before slowly sheathing it with a metallic click. The mech exploded immediately afterwards with pieces of metal flying everywhere.

Suddenly something shot out of the smoke, revealing to be Eggman Nega making a getaway in his slightly damaged Egg Mobile with the doctor yelling shoulder his shoulder in rage.

"You will regret this, mark my words for your end at my hands is in the near future!" shouted Eggman Nega.

"You need new material, cause that line lost its bite long ago," Naruto snarked in response.

"In the very least, we've successfully wrested control away from him," said Nicole with her arms crossed.

"True that, might as well contact Rouge to tell her the good news," Naruto tapped on his ECG-X gloves while not noticing Nicole frowning a bit "Hello Rouge, I wanted to tell you that we were able to drive Eggman away from the naval fleet. Hope your guys don't mind the collateral damage,"

[I'm sure that the boys won't mind a few broken toys, though if you feel like you owe us then I'll put it on your tab] said Rouge playfully.

"Okay then, just don't make it too high of a hurdle for me," said Naruto sheepishly.

[Oh you won't need to worry about that] said Rouge before ending the call.

Naruto let out a sigh before turning to Nicole and noticed her expression "Is there something wrong Nicole-chan?"

"Nothing at all, no need to worry," Nicole turned away with a pout.

Naruto figured otherwise and thought to find a way to cheer her up after all this, he called for Dragoon and rode it into the air with Nicole sitting on his hair in her faerie form albeit wincing when he felt her pull hard on his hair on purpose. They were flying over an island which has a long bridge connecting to the mainland when he sensed something and looked down with his Aura Sight active then his eyes widened in shock upon seeing four aura signatures.

"What's the matter Naruto?" asked Nicole confusedly.

"I think I found them, I can sense their energy," Naruto responded.

"Then let's go down there and get to the bottom of all this,"

Naruto nodded in affirmation nodded in affirmation before having the Dragoon make its descent towards the island as they draw closer to one of the objectives of everything that's happened so far.

This is Hussbek online with the latest chapter, Sonic and Tails continue their search for the Chaos Emeralds as they have four at the moment, they found Knuckles who told them of what happened to him with Blaze before stomping away in anger. Meanwhile, Naruto and Nicole located the GUN Naval fleet and fought their way to Eggman Nega then driving him away to take control of the fleet from him. They have now located Blaze the cat and move in to speak with her, one would wonder how this will go. Be sure to read and review
