CHAPTER 25 KIBA VS THE HOLY SWORDS
Irina quickly charges at her opponent with surprising speed. She then jumps very high above yu and did a downward slash at him. Yu managed to block the attack in time, but Irina then quickly makes sideways strike going for his gut.
Asia: *gasps* Yu looks out!
Yu thankfully managed to dodge the brunt of the attack, but it still left him with a small mark.
Yu: ugghh danm! well that hurt that was a near fatal blow.
Issei: hey! what the hell!? I thought this was a friendly match!
Yu: yea well someone seems to be slow on the uptake.
Irina just looked at him with a small smirk on her face and charged right back at Yu.
Xenovia: hmm the red dragon emperor's dragon hand, that with Argento's twilight healing, and your sword birth you devils certainly have a fair amount of the Pagans sacred treasures on your side.
Kiba: hmm and that's not all i have another one that comes from the grudges and desires from my fallen commands.
Kiba picks up one of the form the ground and points it at Xenovia.
Kiba: and with this power i will get my revenge and destroy all the Excalibur's!
Kiba then lunged at Xenovia and with a loud *CLANG* their own sword fight began.
Kiba: AND ALONG WITH THEM THIRE WILDERS!
Rias and the rest were just on the sidelines watching the two matches.
Akeno: hmm just being touches by a holy sword can injure a devil hmmmm both Yu and Kiba are somewhat at a disadvantage here.
Rias: yes, your right while Yu sill maybe human he didn't have years of training and experience in sword fighting like Kiba and those two girls have *sighs* and kibas a devil if he even gets marked once, he's finished...*sighs*
Issei: hey don't count them both out just yet let's not forget that kibas like way faster now and look,
Issei points over to Yu and Irina who are still fighting.
Issei: Yu senpais a really strong enough guy on his own and he got some extra training from Kiba so you know he can take her.
Indeed, they all look to see that not only was Yu able to hold his own but also was able to drive the little orange haired priestess back a little
Rias: hmhm well look at that your right from the looks of its Yu might actually win this fight.
Yu: HYAAAA
Yu doses a heavy sideways slash at Irina who then blocks it but is pushed back a few feet looking a little frazzled.
Irina: *inner speech* w-Wha what is this? how? his sword play has no real fines or technic behind it, he even still has that shallow wound I gave him earlier...so how?
How am I having such a hard time with him?
Yu: *pant* well this is more difficult then i thought *sighs* I decided to use the Gaia sword cause this was just a bout but part of me is starting to Reget it now *sighs* but I have to keep going I'm not backing down no matter what.
Irina: *scoffs* this guy still thinks he can beat me? grrr that's it I'm ending this!
She swings her sword around and it quickly turns into that same white cloth arm band only much more bigger which really socked Yu and the others. What surprised them all the most was how Irina managed disarm Yu by using that arm band as a whip to snatch his sword away
Yu: ...! what the...
Issei: hey! how the hell was that fair!?
Rias: grrrr it wasn't
Irina now with her weapon reverted back to a katana she smirks at Yu in satisfaction.
Irina: I think it's about time we end this.
She quickly charges at Yu, jumps high and again goes for a downward slash.
Yu: shit this is bad I can't block or move.
Irina: hmhmhm I win.
All Yu could do was guard his face bracing final blow...but then he heard a shattering sound and a clash of metal.
When Yu opened his eyes, he can see his main persona Izanagi blocking Irina's attack with his own weapon.
Irina: w-what? where did this...
Izanagi: I will not let you harm my young master you pagan Zealot!
As he yells that he pushes Irina away and concentrates a bit of lightning in his free hand casting a basic ZIO spell and launches it at her blasting her away a few distances, as soon as he was done, he quickly disappeared.
Yu: *pant* thanks Izanagi you really saved me there.
Izanagi: of course, master though I thought she would not do a dirty tactic like that.
Yu: tch yea me too
The then quickly picks up his sword and faces Irina.
Yu: then lets even the odds you and me.
Izanagi: indeed
And now with Izanagi joining Yu in the fight things got a lot more even between them. Shifting back towards Kiba and Xenovia they both were still going pretty heavily at it with each other. Kiba takes a moment to swap out his swords for two new ones, one that makes fire and another that makes ice.
Kiba: ITS TIME FOR YOU TO BURN AND THEN FREEZ!
And Kiba just goes charging in at Xenovia swinging his two swords wildly.
Xenovia: hm how naive!
And with just one swing of her sword, she destroyed both of kibas weapon's. But she doesn't stop there, she very heavily plants her sword in the ground making a fairly large creator and causing a small earthquake that made everyone nearly lose their balance...well everyone except Irina who fell flat on her ass.
Xenovia: hm this is the holy sword of destruction, believe me this swords name is not just for show!
Kiba looks Apon the with both bewilderment and somewhat amazement.
Kiba: ...and after being split into seven its somehow still this strong
Then he looks at with a lot more determination
Kiba: hmm then I guess there will a lot of blood and carnage when I destroy all of them.
Yu: ...Kiba...
Irina at this point picks up her sword and stands dusting herself off.
Irina: grrrr Hey! Xenovia! give a girl a little warning next time before you do that geez.
She then looks at Yu with both irritation and curiosity.
Irina: but more importantly, HEY!
Yu: hm?
Irina: seriously What is that...thing you keep summoning to your side? *gasp* are you a warlock? a cursed child? just what are you?
rias: *chuckles*
Irina: w-whats so funny?
Rias: hahaha I'm sorry it's just I honestly ask myself that same question almost every day
Issei: senpais one of a kind if you don't already realize that then you'll definitely lose.
Irina: *scoffs* lose? to him? don't make me laugh he may have gotten lucky but he's still way too weak to beat me!
Yu: ...weak?
Issei: uh oh
Yu: ...you really believe that?
Irina: huh?
Issei: oh, she's finished now.
Then the wind suddenly picked up around Yu
Irina: w-what is this?
Yu: weak...ever since I've learned of the hidden world that's what everyone thought of me.
The winds pick up even more.
Yu: *chuckles* why? because I didn't pledge my life to some higher being that may or may not exist?
There's now a growing aura of blue light and fire surrounding Yu.
Yu: cause I wouldn't give up my freedom to some demon?
The aura grows larger and there is now lightning coming off Yu.
Yu: or is it simply because you and everyone else think I'm just some normal high schooler hehehe if only.
Yu holds his sword that's somehow in his scabbard up to his chest staring at Irina dead in the eyes.
Yu: you think your faith gives you strength? that somehow praying to your god gives you power?
A tarot card of the fool descends Infront of him.
Yu: you have no idea how much power I have...but here let me give you another taste.
Yu quickly pulled part of his sword out of his scabbard and as he did the tarot just shattered and from behind him Izanagi completely covered in lightning emerged.
Irina at this point watching this all happen was not only really confused but really taken aback by what she was witnessing. This seemingly ordinary highschooler boy just put on a really big and dramatic light show but also summoned that same creature or being again only looking a lot more powerful now. Safe to say she was definitely not as confident as before and is rethinking this whole match. Rias and the others on the other hand were now feeling pretty confidant.
Rias: hmhm that sure spooked her
Akeno: looks like things are turning around.
Issei: HELL, YEA SUPER BADASS SENPAI!
Asia just looks at Yu biteing her lip and blushing probably thinking of lewd things to Yu later.
Even after witnessing what just happened, she was still not willing to back down, A for determination I guess but, in the end, it was pretty much pointless, whatever technique, precision or tactics she had against Yu they were all either countered or blocked by either Yu or Izanagi and sometimes even both. Their synchronicity and how proficient they worked together clearly showed that they've done this more than enough times that both somewhat amazed Irina but frustrated her as well. At this point she had enough she wanted to end this NOW. She changed her back into that whip like Essery and used it to fling herself from one of the trees to go high above Yu.
Issei: hm that again? she's wasteing her time senpai will just-
Rias: no issei take a closer look.
Issei: huh?
Issei looks closer and sees Irina's sword glow very bright.
Irina: TRY AND DODGE THIS! HYYYYAAA!
Yu just looked at her and smirked.
Yu: hmm who said i needed to?
Irina: ...huh?
Izanagi appeared in front of Yu crossing his arms gather any trace of electrical energy and gathering it all towards his chest, Yu held a tarot card high above his head waiting for the right moment. when that moment came Yu smirked
Yu: strike true.
Irina: ...Wha-
Yu: ZIODYEN!
The moment Yu crushed the card Izanagi quickly uncrossed his arms and unleashed a very large and powerful beam of lightning towards Irina who is not only blown back quite a distance but also took the very brunt of the damage considering she wasn't able to block in time. and while that was happening Yu darted to her as fast as he could
Yu: grrrraaAAAHH SLASH!
As soon as the lightning base attack was done Yu swung his sword as hard as he can towards Irina who dose at the last second manages to block but not to escape a deep cut to her shoulder.
Irina: ahhhh! ugh! ouch he actually got me.
Yu: hmph yes! I finally got you looks like win.
Irina: what? are you for real right now? all you did was cut my shoulder a little
Yu just smirks at her
Yu: you sure that's all i did?
Irina: ...Wha-
That's when she was starting to feel pain that hit her like a truck that forces her to kneel down.
Irina: w-what is *coughs* *coughs*
When she coughed, she can see some dark purplish liquid matter come out of her mouth.
Irina: w-*coughs* w-what did *coughs* d-did you do t-to me...
Yu: hmhm i poisoned you...kind of
Irina: wha...*coghs*
Rias and the other also wondering how Yu managed this.
Yu: look at where I cut you.
She looked and can see the same dark purplish matter covering the whole wound and spreading through the veins in her arms, hand and face.
Irina: y-you...you*coughs* poisoned your...y-your sword?
Yu: hehe nope not exactly
Irina, rias and everyone else were really confused.
Yu: you see this sword is a lot more special than you think *chuckles* even its pretty much the weakest of my strongest weapons.
Irina: s-stron..gest?
Yu: when it comes to attack power it's pretty subpar compared to my other ones but there is this one special thing that it can do that the others can't, it can inflict any aliment on anyone it cuts.
Irina: what? *coughs*
Yu: any ailment confusion, dizziness, despair, even poison
Irina was really shocked to hear that.
Yu: this is the Gaia sword it may not be a holly weapon *chuckles* but it clearly didn't need to be to defeat you, did it?
At that moment the sudden shock and realization was shown on Irina's face
Yu: I won't lie your clearly very strong and very capable all on your own, but in the end that's exactly why you lost, you kept fighting like you were all alone thinking some really shiny relic and some bind faith would help you win.
Irina just kept her head hung low still being poisoned.
Yu: everyone including you thought i was just some weak push over, did you?
Irina looks ashamed.
Yu: yea, well that's where your wrong the power and strength that I have came from nothing but my blood, sweat, and actual tears they weren't given by some deity (at least I don't think) or some demon prince I obtained and strengthened this power on my own. And not only that I had to fight so many dangers to protect everyone I care about and I'm willing to bet you haven't done that have you?
Irina just stays silent head hung low.
Yu: yea, well looks like I'm the winner here, I'm done.
And starts to walk back towards rias and the others. Irina just kneels where she is contemplating what just happened and what Yu told her.
Irina: *sighs* *inner speech* so this whole time while I was partly trying to severely wound to almost kill him, he was doing his best just to end this fight early, huh and he's right he didn't need a holy sword to beat me...in the end I was out maneuvered and outsmarted from the beginning.
She then turns her head to look back at Yu...and slightly smiles.
Irina: hehehe *inner speech* and somehow that makes me even more jealous of that Asia girl...shes...she's really lucky to have a man like him that loves her.
She then falls forward laying on the ground.
Irina: *inner speech* I accepts my defeat whole heartedly, I guess this is where i fall, succumbed to poison...I-
Yu: oh, by the way the poison only temporary it should stop right aboooouuut now.
As soon as he said now the poison and the pain Irina instantly vanished.
Irina: ...Wha...b-but how? it felt like I was actually dyeing! how am I ok now?
Yu: I told you it was temporary I no intention of killing you this was just a friendly bout remember?
Irina: ...!
Yu: *chuckles*
And Yu continues walking while Irina just continues to stare at him bewildered.
Irina: ...*sighs* just when I couldn't get anymore jealous...hehe i really have lost.
Yu: oh, and you should have this, PERSON!
Yu crushes a card and a big angelic male figure appeared.
Yu: do your think Raphael.
Raphael: *nods* as you wish my lord.
The archangel points his hand out towards Irina and casts his strongest healing spell.
Raphael: DIARAHAN!
Soothing purple light washed over Irina, and she felt good as new.
Irina: w-wow I feel great, ummmm thank you.
Yu: *nods* no problem
And Yu again walks away.
Irina: *sighs* ...wait...did he call that angle like creature Raphael?... and it called Yu "my lord"...but...if that's...wouldn't that mean...no, no way impossible.
Issei: WOOOO way to go senpai you won.
Rias: an excellent victory indeed
Koneko: that was really dope senpai.
Yu: Hehe thanks guys to be honest I got really lucky i kept trying to hit her just once but her impressive skill made it difficult.
Akeno: but in the end victory was your *giggles*
Yu: yea but now all that's left is Kiba and Xenovia
They all look over to see that they are both still fighting. Kiba jumps back, picks up another sword and with a loud shout made it a lot bigger.
Kiba: now let's see whose sword is the most destructive, your holy or my demon!
And Kiba charges at Xenovia with a loud battle cry, although Xenovia just looked at him unimpressed.
Xenovia: hm to bad
Xenovia ducks under Kiba's attack and counters by hitting him in the gut with the swords bladed grip guard, even though he wasn't bleeding from the hit he still coughed up a bit blood. Everyone even Yu was a little surprised to witness this, Kiba soon fell face forward signifying his defeat.
Xenovia: humph your only weapons are a few swords and a little speed. not only do you lack the power to use a large sword, but in the process trading away that very speed you're so proud of please don't tell me you didn't realize that *sighs* and your supposed to be my superior? tch what a laughable joke.
She then starts to walk away.
Kiba: n-no...*coughs* w-w-wait
She stops.
Xenovia: I will admit your skill and speed was indeed formidable but, in the end, your own irrationality was the reason why you lost, hm maybe if you were a little more like your silvered haired friend there then maybe you would have had two victories here, but no "one for one" that's enough for me how about you rias Gremory?
Rias: hm yes, I'm glad that neither side were dealt final blows thank you both for your integrity
Both Irina and Xenovia swiftly put on their robs and put away their swords
Xenovia: hm of course now do remember what we talked about earlier.
Rias: just out of curiosity tho
Both Yu and Kiba were getting healed by Asia behind her
Rias: did you ever find out which fallen angel is guilty? of stealing the swords I mean
Xenovia: ...yes we know who was behind it, the leader of the Grigory's named Kokabiel.
Both Yu and Akeno had very shocked expressions although for Akeno it was more of recognition and for Yu it was confusion as well as a few of his personas.
Issei: huh wait who are the Grigory's?
Akeno was about to answer but to her surprise Yu did first.
Yu: the Grigory's is another name for the fallen angles.
Issei: whoa...wait how do you know that senpai?
Yu: on the day Raynare first attacked me was the day my powers reawakened of course I managed to defeat her, and I also interrogated her on a lot of stuff, like their plan, why there here, who they are, and even who their leader is but she didn't say his name was Kokabiel.
Rias: wait. the two of you are seriously going after a leader class? are you you planing to die?
Xenovia: we do what we must to keep the fallen from the holly swords and ill happily trade my life to do so.
Irina: we understand the dangers of this mission there's already been one casualty, a fellow priest who came to this town to check things out ahead of time was killed.
Kiba: ... I know who killed him stray priest named freed.
Yu: ...! *sighs* yea that's right
Rias: Yu! wasn't this when you said-
Yu: yea...
Kiba: I happened to be there when he was killed of course I didn't really know who he was until he said his name and was using a holly sword, of course I tried to fight him but failed miserably I would have died if Yu hadn't come to save me.
Xenovia: hmm interesting that it was a stray priest and you said that it was this man narukami who saved you?
She turns to look at Yu.
Xenovia: hmmm well then it seems you've had a run in with this person.
Yu: humph two infact the first time was when he tried to stop me from saving Asia, has a repulsive, psychotic, waste of human garbage *sighs* but despite his revolting nature he very very dangerous.
Xenovia: hmmm I see then we at least know what we'll be dealing with now.
Irina: *inner speech* yea if that Yu guy managed to survive an encounter with a priest like him twice then it's no wonder I lost.
Yu: *inner speech* well this pretty much confirmed that They're not working together freed was working with someone or something entirely different.
Xenovia: hm well then, I appreciate you both for the information you shared, but I mean when I say don't get involved any further in our affairs.
Kiba: ...tch
Xenovia then starts to walk away.
Irina: hey! hold on wait for me Xenovia!
She looks towards issei and Yu.
Irina: well thank you despite my loss it's been really fun, and issei it was really nice to see you and your mom again despite everything, and Yu.
yu: huh?
Irina: just you wait next time when I come back, I'll be looking for a rematch and don't worry there won't be any tricks this time.
Despite the happy joyful way, she said that Yu was reluctant to believe her, but he can see it in her eyes that she meant it, so with a smile he answered.
Yu: hm alright just let me know when and where and I'm there.
And with a smile she nodded
Xenovia: Irina! are you done!? let's go!
Irina: hold on! I'm coming! well so long everyone.
And Irina runs up to Xenovia's side.
Xenovia: ...are you over it yet?
Irina: over what?
Xenovia: *sighs* don't think I didn't notice how you were looking at that narukami boy.
Irina: ...!...uhhh...w-was it that obvious?
Xenovia: *sighs* to me at least, but now you know his...lustful heart belongs to another to that witch.
Irina: ...yea i know...
Xenovia: then get him and those delusion filled thoughts out of your head cause we still have a mission to complete, unless you would like to your back on the church for something like him?
Irina looks back to see Yu having a really big smile on his face getting a big hug from Asia congratulating his victory, and with a heavy sigh she turns around looking a little sad.
Irina: ...no like you said this mission from God The Almighty comes first and I'm more than willing to die for it.
Xenovia: hm alright then let's go.
