Chapter 67: Gotta Party!

"…and so, that's what has happened so far over here. Nico-chan and I will be doing a few run-throughs before making our return now that the modified Warp Ring is fully stable for dimensional travel. I'll send another message if anything suddenly comes up, catch you guys later," said Naruto before ending the recording and ejecting the CD from the console.

Naruto was currently at the Freedom Fighters Headquarters, recording a message to send to the others at his dimension to inform them of what had happened involving Eggman's defeat as well as his fall to madness as a result. Heck, he'd have to be blind, deaf and dumb to not notice the glumness that's been leaking out of Sonic these past few doubt, the Blue Blur has been feeling responsible for putting the doctor in that state no matter how much Sally and the rest say otherwise. But that's not the only thing that has been on his mind these days as well, even Kurama was concerned.

"Still thinking about it?" asked the nine tailed fox.

"How can I not think about it, Kurama?" Naruto responded with a frown "Ever since we left the Egg Dome, I've been having this gut feeling that something serious is going to bad and I can't leave until it's dealt with,"

"It'd better be the last major one so we can get back home where things make more sense than here,"

"Heh, if you say so," Naruto smiling, knowing full well that the grumpy fox wasn't being honest about missing the others back home.

They were pulled out of their conversation via a call from the ECG-X gloves, Naruto tapped on of them to project a small Holoscreen and pressing the receive button to answer it "Naruto here,"

[Naruto, it's Mina. Where are you? We're almost done with the setup] asked Mina through the comm.

"I was sending a message to my friends at the other dimension here at the HQ," Naruto responding whilst activating the Warp Ring and tossing the disc through it before reverting to default size for one of his tails to catch and place into the ninja pouch.

[Well, we're waiting on you over here. The stadium's practically full]

"Alright then, I'll be there in a flash…literally,"

"How original…," said Kurama sarcastically.

[Okay, see you soon]

Mina ended the call, Naruto locked on the Hiraishin in New Mobotropolis and teleported towards it to meet up with the others and prepare for the upcoming event.

"Come on Sonic, this concert is for you as much as the rest of us," said Sally as she pulled Sonic by the arm into the coliseum which was practically jampacked towards the VIP seats "And you've moped enough already.

"I'm not moping, I'm just…you know…," the 'not moping' hedgehog tried to refute but wasn't finding the right words.

Tails waved them over to him "Hey Sonic, I saved you guys some seats!"

Sonic smiled softly "Thanks buddy, okay I'll admit a bit that I've been out of sorts,"

Sally quirked an eyebrow as she sat down next to him "Are you still worried about Robotnik? This isn't the first time that you've beaten him,"

"It's not even that, I know fully well that we got him for good this time. I saw him snap right in front of me, Shadow had warned me of his unstable state of mind and even Naruto vouched for him but I ignored their warnings. And now, this defeat feels different from the others, like I went too far this time," Sonic let of a deep sigh and rubbed the back of his head "Never mind his unforgivable acts, I'm not making any sense at all right now,"

Sally placed a hand on his shoulder with a comforting smile "We'll talk about it later. Right now, Mina's music should be able to put you in a better mood,"

They turned to see Mina step onto the stage amidst the loud cheering of the audience, waving at them with a bright smile on her face before speaking through the mike for them to listen {Helloooooo, New Mobotropolis! I'm sure most of you recognize me as Mina; proud songstress of the 'Forget-Me-Nots' and are back from our world tour! Before getting to the main event, we've got a pre-event to serve as an appetizer. Hope you all had your ears cleaned before coming here cause this is a one-time exclusive!}

"Mina's not gonna sing yet, I wonder why? And you know anything about a pre-event?" asked Sonic confusedly.

Sally shook her head in response "I don't know either, but I think we're about to find out,"

As Sally stepped off the stage, there was a sudden burst of white smoke which then dissipated to reveal two familiar figures to the Freedom Fighters and many others; Naruto stood with an electric guitar hanging by a strap around his shoulders and he had a shadow clone handling the drum kit at the back whilst Nico was next to him with a mike in hand as the Hololynx created several Angel avatars to hover behind them with violins.

{What's up ladies and gentlemen! Nico and I are here to sing a song as a tribute to all who gave it their all, both body and soul to get this far!} Naruto called out to the audience, getting wild cheering in response.

"Naruto and Nico are going to sing? I can't wait to see what they can do!" said Tails eagerly.

"Ready Nico-chan?" asked Naruto.

Nico nodded in affirmation "Yes I am,"

"Alright then," Naruto began playing the guitar with the shadow clone and Angel Avatars taking their cues to follow-up as well.

Naruto went on to do a guitar solo, his grin growing larger as he waved his tails to discharge small orbs of foxfire and having them float around in the coliseum then Nicole activated her Digital wings to hover in the air alongside her Angel Avatars.

As the song started to come to an end, Nicole descended to settle on Naruto's tails which he curled them to form a seat for her before both bowed their heads with the Angelic Avatars burst in sparkles of light for makeshift fireworks.

The audience proceeded to cheer quite fiercely in response to the performance with Sonic and the Freedom Fighters applauded the duo. Naruto put away the guitar to grab the mike and speak to everyone.

"Thanks everybody, thanks for listening and remember…never give up until the very end," said Naruto in gratitude.

"Whoa, I never knew that he could sing," said Tails in awe.

"I doubt no one knew, which was probably what he was aiming for to take us all by surprise," said Vector thoughtfully, loving the song due to being quite the music lover.

"Let's see how Mina can top that," said Mighty.

"…hmph, showoff," Hamilton Pig grumbled, his obvious dislike for the kitsune being well-known by everyone.

Later on, Mina and her band had set themselves up on the stage with Naruto and Nico having taken their seats with Sonic and the others.

"No doubt that you guys were wowed by the earlier performance, time to show you that we're just as good! So, get ready to jam with us!" Mina declared with her bandmates starting up the music and prepared to si-

*KRA-KOW*

A bolt came from out of nowhere and struck the stage, knocking Mina away to the ground much to the shock of everyone. The heroes shot off their seats and prepared to swing into action when a loud voice called out from above.

"The beacon of hope for Mobius and yet I find you all playing around like children!"

Looking up, everyone looked up to see a brown-furred Mobian monkey riding atop a cloud and wielding a staff that was coursing with electricity. The monkey was also wearing a golden headband with a red gem adorned, and a red-and-green vest with golden plates on the shoulders and turquoise cape billowing behind him.

The monkey continued to rant "What kind of selfish, lazy jerks revel whilst many others suffer?!"

"Who's this guy?" asked Naruto with a frown, seeing Ash rush over to help Mina to safety.

"His name is Monkey Khan, a friend of ours from the Dragon Kingdom. But what I don't understand is why he's acting this way," Amy explained in confusion of what's happening.

"Where are these so-called 'heroes' of Mobius? I want you charlatans to look me in the eye and tell me why you're so great!" Monkey Khan yelled angrily.

Sonic grinned widely in excitement "And just when I thought that life without Eggman would be boring, gotta thank the universe for livening up my days," he lunged at Monkey Khan with a Homing Attack.

"Sonic, wait!" Sally called out but the hedgehog was already fighting the Mobian monkey.

Sonic broke away from his clash and skidded backwards before glaring at Monkey Khan "Nice to see that you're still the jerk like before, Khan. Come to think of it, I still haven't returned the favor for what you did a year ago!"

Khan scoffed in response "And you're the same ego-driven, short-sighted idiot that I remember. How you won these people over is beyond me!"

"Keep yapping, time to make you pay for wrecking the concert!"

"You arrogant-,"

They rushed at each other when a wall of blue flames shot out from the ground in between, forcing them to stop. They heard someone clearing their throat and turned to see Sally with her arms crossed and standing next to Naruto who held up a hand radiating blue flames, revealing that he was the one that interrupted their fight.

"Sonic, jumping straight into a fight doesn't solve the situation," Sally spoke in disapproval.

Sonic shrugged his shoulders then pointed a thumb at Monkey Khan "Alright then, you'll be the one to talk to the hothead,"

Sally turned to confront the person that caused the whole problem "And if you've got a grievance with us, you need to do it civilly and without the light show,"

Monkey Khan turned away from them with a huff "I suppose I could have handled introductions better,"

"Gee, you think?" thought Naruto sarcastically "So, what's bugging you anyway?"

"What's 'bugging' me is seeing you all play around while Eggman Empire is…,"

Sally interjected "We've defeated Eggman several days ago, the empire should be in collapse,"

Monkey Khan glared at the princess "All that did was change someone in charge, the doctor may be off his throne…but now she's in control!"

"Who?" asked Sonic curiously.

Meanwhile at the throne room of the Egg Dome:

"Hail the Iron Queen, the new ruler of the Eggman Empire!" Snively declared pridefully.

The Iron Queen preened from the praise as she sat on her throne "Thank you, my fine steward. Conquering Storm, your status?"

Said person bowed her head with the Yagyu Ninjas following suit before giving her report "The Yagyu clan has scoured the city. New Megaopolis is in ruins, only the Egg Dome is operational,"

"I'm sure that I have my cute steward to thank for that,"

Snively smiled happily in response "I do my best,"

But the Iron King wasn't pleased "Bah! We had everything in the Iron Dominion, what's so great about this trash heap of a city?"

"Now now, my king. Remember that this is only temporary. We'll move the seating of our empire back to our holdings in the Dragon Kingdom soon enough," the Iron Queen placated with the Iron King snorting grudgingly.

Snively added in a nervous tone "Not all is lost, sire. All of the weapons in the ruins can join your collection!"

"Bah! I might as well look for something of use since our army here is so weak. Conquering Storm, come with me," the Iron King rose from his throne and proceeded to leave the room with his vassal following him. At that moment, Dimitri came walking in and approached the Iron Queen and Snively.

"Apologies for arriving unannounced, your highness but I've come in regards to your 'weak' army," said Dimitri.

"Grandmaster Dimitri of the Dark Egg Legion, correct?" Iron Queen inquired.

Dimitri bowed in response "And another supporter of your rule,"

"Such a gentleman, plead your case to your queen!"

"When doctor Robotnik supplied my people with their cybernetics, he also took the liberty to implant explosives to ensure our unwavering loyalty. Given our support of your coup d'état, I would hope you could give us peace of mind and remove them," Dimitri requested, casting a glance towards a smiling Snively.

Iron Queen hummed in thought for a moment before giving a response "I had already reviewed your plight and I'm afraid that the work of the doctor was too thorough for me to undo. However, I have developed microchips that will disrupt the detonator signal, giving your people freedom," she gestured for Snively to reach behind her throne and bring out a suitcase to present to Dimitri "Install them into your people and may my blessing be with them always,"

Dimitri frowned inwardly as this wasn't what they were promised, he looked the duo's smiles and saw their true intentions hidden behind them, angering him at their deceit before leaving the throne room "I will at once, you have my utmost 'thanks', my queen,"

"What a trusting fool," said Snively, then he was suddenly lifted off the ground and into the queen's embrace.

"Oh Snivy-kins, everything is working splendidly!" said the Iron Queen happily.

"Of course Regina, we're brilliant together!"

Regina poked his nose with affection "It won't be long until we crush the rebels in New Mobotropolis, dispose my oaf of a king and rule the world with an iron fist!"

"Aw, you say the sweetest things my dear…but there is something that I wish to draw your attention to…," said Snively with mild concern at the end.

"What is it, my love?" asked the Iron Queen curiously.

Back at the New Mobotropolis Coliseum, Monkey Khan was almost done explaining things to everyone with Naruto paying close attention and frowning at what he was discussing with Kurama, not liking what was coming to mind.

"…and that's where it stands, most of the ninja and their clan leaders are still I the Dragon Kingdom. But she's moved a large force to cement her takeover," Monkey Khan explained.

"It actually makes a lot of sense now," Naruto spoke up.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Elliot confusedly.

"After the battle against Eggman, I noticed that Snively wasn't all that depressed about Eggman going insane. I suspected that he was actually anticipating for it to happen and your story was the final piece to the puzzle. Snively had been setting up an alliance behind Eggman's back and with the crazed doctor out of the way, he can pretty much pick up where he left off except with an enemy whom we don't have proper info about," Naruto explained.

"Guess your gut was right about this," said Kurama.

"Yeah, sometimes I hate it when my gut is right,"

"This is serious, the council needs to be gathered concerning this new threat," said Elliot before walking away to do so.

Monkey Khan wasn't exactly pleased to hear that "Gather the council? We don't have time for debates!"

"So, we have a whole new heap of trouble, eh?" said Sonic with a smile appearing on his face.

"Easy now, Sonic. We still need to plan our next move, but Khan's got a point that we've got work to do," said Sally.

"Thank you Sally, I'm sorry about my earlier actions," said Monkey Khan apologetically.

"You can save your apologies for later, right now we have the Iron Dominion to worry about,"

"Considering that our break's been cut short, it's back to work for all of us," said Naruto with a shrug.

"Now then, we can start by coordinating with the Freedom Fighters in the Dragon Kingdom. I'm sure that there are some in the Stormfront village that can help us out," said Sally, then she noticed that Monkey Khan wasn't responding "…Khan?"

"There aren't…any others," Khan spoke slowly, an underlying meaning behind that statement.

"If that's the case, Khan and I can zip on over to New Megaopolis and give those guys the boot," said Sonic confidently.

"Absolutely not!" Sally refuted strongly.

"Come on, Sal! I tangled with those jokers and they weren't tough, let's not forget that Naruto's training will make fighting these guys nothing more than a walk in the park!"

"We can't afford to underestimate them if they were able to control the Dragon Kingdom and take over the empire!"

"She's right, Sonic. No doubt it's been a while since you last tangled with them, they must have learnt some new tricks since then," Naruto pointed.

"Actually, let us go. I'd be more than happy to show him just how much he's out of their league," said Monkey Khan.

"Then get ready to be humbled by an all-new Sonic!" said the blue hedgehog smugly.

Sally groaned in at all this "Ugh, you two…fine, you can go but under reconnaissance,"

"Sure, but if we happen to liberate Mobius along the way then it'd be a bonus, right?"

Naruto spoke up "Want me to rag along for this?"

Sonic shook his head "Nah man, I'm sure we'll be plus this could help me get out of my recent funk,"

"Okay then, just ring me up when you need me,"

Sonic gave a thumbs up before taking off at highspeed with Monkey Khan following after him whilst riding atop his cloud before the latter decided to ask the former about something.

"I've been wondering for a while, but just who is that fox with the nine tails and is he of any relation to Tails?" asked Monkey Khan curiously.

"Oh, his name's Naruto and boy is he an interesting guy to talk about. Let me tell you about the time he first showed up to help us out with a major problem that day," said Sonic with a grin.

Back with the others, Sally noted that Naruto was deep in thought and inquired what the matter was "What is it, Naruto?"

"I'm thinking of heading over to Albion and let everyone there know of the new threat so that they won't be caught unawares," Naruto pointed out, catching the attention of Knuckles and Julie-Su towards the kitsune's statement.

"When you put it that way, then we're coming with," said Knuckles.

"Then you guys can go ahead, there's something I need to do first before heading over there,"

"What is it you want to do?" asked Julie-Su curiously.

In the Freedom Fighters HQ, a select few of the members were around after having listened to the message sent to them by Naruto and Nicole from the other dimension. To say that they were shocked by what they had learnt would be an understatement. Sonic was stunned to hear what had happened to the Eggman of that dimension, he never would have thought that the doctor would go insane due to having been beaten so many times that he wondered if the same thing could happen to his own Eggman.

"It seems like Naruto will be staying there a bit longer before making his return to us," said Sally thoughtfully.

"I was kinda hoping that he would be coming, I'm losing count on the number of times Milla and the other girls have been asking us when he would be coming back home. He's gonna owe me a lot of sushi for this," Carol whined, leaning back against a reclining chair.

"I understand what you mean Carol, it also goes to show that things over there are just as serious as the ones here," Lilac tried to explained to her feline best friend.

"Well with that kind of bomb dropped on us, I think a run will clear my head for a bit," said Sonic as he turned to leave when a Warp Ring activated and a CD dropping out of it before disappearing "Another one, so soon?"

"Could it be that things have gotten that serious to the point that Naruto needed to send another message to us?" asked Rotor with a small thoughtful frown.

"Let's check it out before we end up playing thirty questions," said Sonic.

Sally took the disc and inserted it into the console before the Holoscreen was projected to play the message, showing Naruto on screen with a serious look on his face.

[Hey guys, no doubt you're pretty much confused that I'm sending another message so soon. Well, the reason would be because things have pretty much gotten tougher] Naruto went on to tell the group about the recent events [And now I'm heading over to Albion to help them get ready for the trials ahead before regrouping with the others to prepare for any attacks aiming for Mobotropolis. I'll make sure to keep you guys posted should anything come up. Wish me luck and I hope to see you all soon]

The recording ended but everyone was silently contemplating about what they had just heard, it was needless to say that they weren't comfortable to hear about what was going on in that dimension.

"Geez, it's like the problems are standing in a queue and waiting one after another for their turn. I may hate boredom, but I won't say no to a good break every now and then," Carol grumbled.

"It goes to show that there would always be someone who could be just as bad as Eggman," said Sally thoughtfully "Remember how Metal Sonic tried to take over the world after locking the doctor away?"

"Besides trying to proving himself to be the better me, we remember," Sonic added in affirmation.

"Here's hoping that Naruto and our counterparts will be able to overcome this as well," said Tails.

"I'm sure they've got it covered, they're versions of us after all,"

"We can only hope," said Lilac.

Naruto reappeared back at Albion in a flash of yellow light with Nico and the Chao, the residents happily waved at them which they responded in kind. One look around the place can tell the viewer that it is just about fully restored to its former glory.

"Man, one would find it hard to believe that this place used to be nothing more than ruins," said Naruto.

"It's all thanks to you for helping them with your powers," said Nico fondly.

"It was a team effort, now let's meet up with Knuckles and the others,"

Naruto sensed where they are and led the others to the main tent where they saw Knuckles with his family, carrying his baby brother Kneecaps., smiling inwardly upon seeing that the echidna was bonding well with his family in spite of the Enerjak issue in the past. Kneecaps saw Naruto and began shaking his rattle excitedly, drawing the others attention to the approaching fox who waved at them.

"Hey guys, sorry I took so long," Naruto called out in greeting.

Wynmacher shook his head in response "No worries in the least, Knuckles and Julie-Su had brought us up to speed on what was going on in the mainland,"

"Just when we thought that things would be peaceful with Eggman's defeat, another comes to continue where he left off. I fear this will encourage the Dark Egg Legion to attack Albion, it is only a matter of when," said Remington with a frown.

"Which was one of the reasons why we came here, I had Nico bring along some weapons to help you guys set up a line of defense when that comes to past," said Naruto.

"You mean the ones that Sonic and the other Freedom Fighters were using when we attacked the Eggdome?" asked Julie-Su.

"Those ones except we made enough for an army here,"

"That will do, plus we're trying to bring the defense mechanism back online but it was a slow progress," said Remington.

Nico spoke up "Then I shall provide assistance in that endeavor, it will definitely be of great importance to have it in an operational condition,"

"Thanks Nico," the Hololynx nodded in affirmation before leaving the house to help the other echidna with the defense system. Unknown to them, this action of theirs would make severe changes in the future with the only question of whether they would be good or bad but time will tell.

"So, will you be making preparations to return to your dimension after helping us deal with this new enemy of ours?" Lara-Le inquired

"Yeah, I've hung back for too long at this point. No doubt that I've got a lot of apologizing and making up to do when I get back," said Naruto, sheepishly imagining the angry looks he would be receiving from the girls "Oh boy,"

"Oh boy alright, but it will be entertaining for me," said Kurama amusedly.

"Shut it, furball,"

"Sorry about that, so many things keep popping up one after another," said Knuckles.

"No biggie, I didn't mind helping you guys throughout those times…just wished that I could have done better at certain parts,"

Lara-Le shook her head at what he meant "Naruto, you need to stop blaming yourself. We all know that you tried your hardest,"

"Mom's right, you snapped me out of it when I was blaming myself, I'm not going to let you start doing the same thing," said Knuckles assuredly.

Naruto smiled at that and was about to respond when the ECG-X gloves started beeping which signaled a call that Naruto answered and put on Holoscreen to see Sonic who was covered in dirt and bruises "Sonic, what the heck happened to you?"

[Something major, I need you guys back here asap so I can give you the downlow on what happened] said Sonic in a serious tone.

"Alright then, we'll be there soon," Naruto ended the transmission "We need to get back to the city now, I'll come back for Nico-chan later,"

"Very well then, do be careful," said Wynmacher.

"Okay, grab on and let's go,"

Naruto waited for Knuckles and Julie-Su to touch his shoulders before warping them all to the city, the trio made their way to the council room where they found Elliot, Sally along with Sonic and Monkey Khan, the latter two covered in dirt and bruised.

"We're here, care to tell us what happened out there?" Naruto inquired seriously, wanting to learn as much as he can.

Sonic nodded in affirmation "Sure thing, so it happened like this…,"

The blue hedgehog started with how he and Monkey Khan were ambushed by the Dark Egg Legion the moment that they arrived at New Megaopolis and were backed up by the Bat ninjas of the Yagyu Clan. Things turned for the worse with the appearance of the Iron King who's well-known for being nigh invulnerable, the surprises didn't stop there as Espio made his appearance and actually attacked the duo instead of helping. At the rate things were going, the duo had to retreat with Monkey Khan transporting them away with his flying cloud.

"…and then we got back here and I called you guys," Sonic ended his explanation.

Elliot frowned in thought "Things are more serious than I initially thought…,"

"You couldn't be anymore right; the Iron Dominion having the Dark Egg legion under their command, a bunch of ninjas, Lightning having left the Destructix Squad, Espio going rogue…it's like we've gone back to square one," said Sonic, counting the issues with one hand.

"But I don't understand, I thought Espio was from the Rainbow Valley and there aren't any ninja clans there," said Knuckles confusedly, but Naruto knew better especially since being deceptive and keeping secret are part of a ninja's occupation. Espio going against could only mean that he had no other choice than to obey the orders given to him by the Bride of the Shinobi Clan.

"You want to tell them the truth about Espio?" asked Kurama.

"Yeah, but I can't be too sure. There may be some similarities but I can't be too sure and give them the wrong info to act on," Naruto pointed to the Bijuu within him.

"…true,"

"So, where do we go from here?" asked Sally.

"For starters, I think Knuckles needs to get back to Angel Island and guard the Master Emerald just in case that the Iron Dominion targets it," Naruto suggested.

"The rest of Chaotix can help with that," Julie-Su added albeit a part of her was concerned about how the rest of the team will react to Espio's current actions.

Elliot nodded in affirmation "Very well, I'll have the Royal Guard placed on high alert and inform the population about what you and Khan had discovered in New Megaopolis,"

Hearing a pained groan, everyone turned to see Monkey Khan rising to his feet whilst leaning on his Atom Bat for support. Sally quickly walked over to aid the simian with concern on her face.

"Khan, are you okay? Do you need to be checked on?" asked Sally.

"Not entirely, this event is yet another to be added to my list of failures," said Monkey Khan despondently.

"Don't let this eat at you, we had faced worse than this and still managed to come out on top,"

"If only I could be an optimist like you…but one needs to see the reality," Khan sighed as he hobbled out of the room "Just what kind of king have I turned out to be…?"

"Poor guy, his confidence has been shot," said Sonic with a frown.

Naruto nodded in response "I know, I've been down that road many times before. He needs something that can snap him out of that funk,"

"Yeah, and I hope it's soon before anything bad happens,"

Naruto was currently meditating at the park with the Chao sleeping on his crossed legs, he's been noticing that they've been sleeping a lot lately but hasn't yet figured the reason why. Things have gotten a bit tense in city after Elliot had announced Sonic's report to the populace a day ago, reminding the kitsune how things were back in the Elemental Nations when Obito had declared the Fourth Great Ninja War and he hadn't known until much later then wasted no time in joining with Killer Bee and gradually turned things around for the Allied Nations. Naruto had also been keeping in contact with Nico who was still helping the echidnas in Albion, she'll soon be returning once she was done finetuning the defense mechanism. His tails twitched slightly as he sensed a surge of negative emotions and homed on it.

"…hmmmm, I sense anger and frustration from Monkey Khan and Sonic's with him," thought Naruto.

"No doubt that the blue hedgehog had done something to annoy the monkey, no surprise there," said Kurama.

"Besides that, any idea why Kou and Yoru have been sleeping a lot lately? Would have suspected you rubbing off them but that wasn't the case,"

"Oh ha ha ha, you're so funny," Kurama laughed sarcastically "Anyways, from what I can tell from observing, it seems like the Chao are conserving their energy by sleeping more frequently. But the reason why is beyond me,"

"We need to figure this out and soon, I'm getting worried about them,"

"The likeliest person to get answers from would be Tikal but she's literally a dimension away from here,"

"That doesn't make me feel any be-," Whatever that the kitsune was about say got disrupted by the sounds of alarm blaring throughout the city then Nicole's voice was soon heard throughout the city.

[Your attention please, we have hostiles near the city wall! Please take cover!]

Naruto calmly passed the Chao to a shadow clone before hopping to his feet "Looks like we've gotten some uninvited guests…that's weird, I'm sensing only two,"

"Take a closer look so we can see what we're up against," Kurama suggested.

"On my way,"

Naruto took off towards where he was sensing the two signatures and even detected that Sally along with some of the main Freedom Fighters are already there, engaging the enemies. Upon arriving there, Naruto came upon a scene that was very confusing at first glance.

"What's going on here, and why is Bunnie attacking us?" asked Naruto confusedly.

Just like he asked, Naruto was seeing Bunnie flying around and attacking everyone as they scrambled to get out of the way. Gazing upon the confusion with relish were Snively and a woman whom he could identify to be the Iron Queen, both were riding on separate Egg Pods.

"Bunnie isn't doing it of her own free will, the Iron Queen has the power to control any kind of technology," Sally explained before diving to the side and avoiding a swoop from a panicking Bunnie.

"In other words; she can use any of our gear against us," Naruto quickly took off his ECG-X gloves and headphones before sealing them away.

Bunnie saw that she was heading for Antoine and struggled to somehow veer herself away from him in time "Somebody stop me, durn it!"

"Hang on Bunnie, I'm coming!" Sonic arrived at the scene to grab Bunnie and pull her away from everyone towards an enclosed cell that Nicole immediately locked up the moment she was placed inside "Nicole rigged this contraption out of the city's nanites, this should keep all of us safe for the meantime,"

"Thanks Sugah-hog I-," Bunnie gasped as she felt something happen to her body again and began to panic "Oh no, run! RUN!"

Sonic was taken aback "Why, I mean you're safe,"

"She just engaged mah arm cannon!" no sooner she said that, that the arm cannon blasted her out of the makeshift cell and was firing haphazardly in any random directions.

"Sally, we could use a plan right about now!" said Sonic urgently.

"Working on it!" Sally responded, the pressure getting to her "Target the Iron Queen, that should disrupt her control over Bunnie!"

Regina sneered at that "I would advise against such a notion, especially since my newly acquired servant is more than willing to lay her life for me,"

Antoine growled in anger "Let go of my wife, you monster!"

"Think Naruto, there's gotta be a way for us to reach the Iron Queen without hurting Bunnie," Naruto's mind raced rapidly for a solution before smacking himself in the face for not coming up with it sooner, then he turned to the others "Hey guys, I'll be leaving this place to you for a bit before getting back here soon!"

"Naruto, what are you doing?" asked Amy confusedly.

"Saving Bunnie!" Naruto dashed forward, staying low to the ground and darting from side to side to avoid the blasts from Bunnie's arm cannon.

"So, you must be the fox that my dear Snively had been talking about. However, I fail to see what makes you such a threat to the Iron Dominion," said Regina arrogantly.

"Save the talk for when I get back and kick your butt, Swift Release: Shadow Step!" Naruto disappeared in a blur then reappeared in midair to grab Bunnie by the shoulder and warp the both of them in a yellow flash but not before leering at Regina and Snively.

"Where has he taken her?" asked Antoine worriedly.

Sally started to realize what Naruto did "Somewhere far enough for the Iron Queen to not be able to control Bunnie anymore,"

"Now that she doesn't have a shield to hide behind, time for some payback," Sonic sneered at the duo overhead, his intentions of hurting them being more than clear.

Instead of cowering like always, Snively rather sneered back as he held out a remote "One thing that I've learnt from my crazy uncle, it's to always have a backup plan!" he pushed the button then something made its appearance known, revealing to be a combat bot but one that is severely different compared to the ones made by Eggman "Allow me to introduce to you a creation born from our newly formed alliance; The Kilgore MK 1!"

Before the Freedom Fighters was a robot the shape and height of an Overlander with its alloy being of a dark grey color. Random circuitry, joints, gears, wires and electrical tubing could be seen through its chassis. Its head consists of a single glowing vertical line, but the most noticeable aspect of the robot would be its twin arm-mounted miniguns.

Sonic scoffed at this "You really following your uncle's footsteps, just know that it will end the same way; becoming scraps,"

The Iron Queen sneered "So you say, time for you to sing a different tune. Kilgore, attack!"

At her command, the robot came online, readjusting the armored panels on its chest and spinning the miniguns on its arms before letting out a metallic battle cry.

Sally saw what the robot was about to do and quickly called out to Nicole "We need cover, right now!"

Nicole nodded in affirmation "I'm on it!"

The Hololynx commanded the city's nanites to quickly form protective barriers for the Freedom Fighters to quickly take cover from the rapid fire of the robot but it proved to be quite relentless as its back opened up multiple compartments to launch a swarm of micro-missiles which forced her to reinforce the barrier. Nicole noticed that Kilgore's miniguns were starting to glow red with heat and realized what was happening.

"His weapons are beginning to overheat," Nicole whispered to the others.

Sally nodded in understanding "The moment that it stops firing, we close the gap and take it out before its weapons cool down,"

[WARNING! WARNING! OVERHEAT!]

The miniguns caught fire, forcing Kilgore to stop firing its weapons. At that moment, Sonic rushed out from behind cover towards the robot to attack with Amy close behind with her Piko Piko Hammer. But what they weren't expecting was for Kilgore to activate its thrusters to lung right back at them, Sonic dashed to the side to avoid a punch from the robot's heated minigun and Amy was using her hammer to deflect the incoming strikes.

"Did you seriously think that Kilgore is a long-range combat bot just from its looks? It's far more than that as you are about to find out!" said Snively arrogantly, watching the Freedom Fighters being forced to maintain a distance from the Kilgore's attacks to avoid getting hit and burnt simultaneously.

Antoine barely blocked a punch from the Kilgore and looked down at his sword was glowing slightly with heat "Sacre bleu!"

"This one's is literally too hot to handle, I'll just run circles around this tin can and cool it down!" Sonic crouched slightly in preparation when Sally called out to him in a panic.

"Sonic wait! Doing that will also enable it to use its weapons again!" She explained, making the Blue Blur stop in his tracks with a frown on his face.

"Now you realize that your very speed can betray you," said Iron Queen arrogantly.

"If only we can use our new gears, but she can turn them against us," said Tails in mild frustration.

"Here is yet another feature of Kilgore, initiate!" Snively pushed another button on the remote, causing Kilgore to shudder for a moment then suddenly teleport before the team's very eyes and reappear behind Sally with an arm raised to bring down on her head.

"Sally!" Sonic rushed to rescue her when a bolt of lightning blasted the combat bot away from the princess then a familiar voice spoke up.

"I shan't allow you to hurt the princess, Iron Queen!" Monkey Khan stepped forward with his Atom Bat crackling with electricity whilst glaring at the two hovering above him.

"About time you showed up, Khan!" said Sonic with a smirk.

Monkey Khan smiled in response "My apologies, it took some…words to help regain my lost confidence,"

"In that case, let's scrap this hunk of junk!"

The duo rushed at Kilgore that attacked with a swing with one of its arms, Khan blocked with his Atom Bat then proceeded to zap it with electricity before knocking it back with a strike to the head. Sonic ran circles around the robot to rapidly cool it down, Kilgore raised its miniguns and prepared to launch its micro missiles when Khan intercepted with a large amount of electricity to mess with its system. Amy closed the gap to slam the combat bot to the ground with a powerful whack from her Piko Piko Hammer, Kilgore teleported away to avoid any more of the onslaught and prepared to open fire when something flew through the air and embedded itself in a small gap of the chest armor, revealing to be a sword thrown by Antoine.

"Seize zhe moment!" Antoine called out.

"Khan, fire an electric blast at the sword!" said Sally.

"Very well then," Khan called upon a bolt of lightning from the sky to strike Antoine's sword, sending electricity throughout the combat bot's internal systems and causing it to jerk and spasm constantly.

"Time for the Coup De Grace!" Sonic went into his spinball form and revved up before finishing the Kilgore off with a Spin Dash attack, the hedgehog looked up with a smug grin "What's that about things being different this time around?"

"Now's the time to put an end to this," Monkey Khan summoned a cloud to ride up to confront the Iron Queen and Snively.

There was a yellow flash and Naruto had returned "Hey guys, looks like I missed quite a bit of fun, eh?"

Antoine rushed over to Naruto, grabbing his shoulders in concern "How iz Bunnie, iz my wife okay?"

Naruto smiled assuredly "She's okay, I was able to heal her injuries with my Life Aspect. All she needs now is rest in the HQ,"

Sally and the others were glad to hear that "That's a relief to hear, all we need to do now i-,"

"Arrggghhhh!" there was a cry of pain, everyone looked up to see that the Iron Queen was blasting Monkey Khan with her tech scepter and Snively had snatched the simian's crown from him.

"Quit struggling, the girl had a few robotic limbs…but your cybernetics run throughout your entire body!" the Iron Queen declared.

There was a bright flash of cyan light which died down to reveal Monkey Khan completely changed. His eyes have become red on black, white hair at his temples, green glowing circuit-like symbols all over his body, and his cloud has become dark and stormy. The transformed simian looked down at everyone with an evil smile.

"You're mine once again Iron Khan, now burn this city to the ground!" said the Iron Queen gleefully.

"Can someone tell me what just happened, I thought you said that she only anything tech related?" asked Naruto.

Sally explained the best she could "Khan was turned into a cyborg by Eggman long time back and was sealed away before we let him out, the headband he wears protects him from losing his free will bu-look out!" her warning made everyone scatter in different directions to avoid the bolts of pink lightning summoned from the sky by Iron Khan.

"I am the divine weapon of the Iron Dominion, and I am glorious!" Iron Khan proclaimed pridefully.

"We gotta stop him before he does something he'll regret!" said Sonic.

"Please don't hurt him!" Sally pleaded.

"Easier said than done," Sonic grumbled, not really feeling okay about the current dynamics between Sally and Khan these days. Snapping back into focus, Sonic moved in to engage Iron Khan and making sure to avoid getting hit by the simian's electrified Atom Bat.

"You swore never be controlled by anyone ever again, not by Robotnik and this psycho! Your stubbornness is one of your strong points, so break out of that lady's voodoo and snap out of it already!" Sonic's moment of hesitation costed as Iron Khan knocked him back with a strong flying kick to the chest.

"Give it up, dearie! His cybernetics are too extensive, making my control absolute!" said Iron Queen smugly.

"And as for the power ring…," Snively pushed a button to make the robot arms shatter the ring "I'm afraid that it's no longer in use,"

"As if things aren't bad enough already," Amy grumbled.

"My monkey pawn will destroy the Freedom Fighters, just like he did in the Dragon Kingdom and then your city will burn! Mree-hee-hee-hee!" the Iron Queen cackled evilly.

"Tag out Sonic, I'll take it from here," Naruto patted Sonic's shoulder as he walked by and approached Iron Khan with eyes narrowed in focus.

You sure you got this?" Sonic inquired.

Naruto responded with a thumbs up "Deal with my share of lightning users back home so I know how to handle them, so yeah I got this,"

"Alright then, we'll go and find a way to bring him back to his normal angry self," Sonic ran off to meet up with Sally to do just that.

"You dare face the prowess of the Iron Dominion?" asked Iron Khan arrogantly.

Naruto simply shrugged "I dare a lot of things, facing down tyrannical leaders is just another day in the office,"

"Prepare to be judged!" Iron Khan leapt off his cloud and swung his atom bat towards Naruto who called the sheathed Masamune to his hand and used it to block the incoming attack, both pushing against other in a clash "You shall fall!"

"Well, I'm not seeing my butt hit the ground so far!" the blonde kitsune retorted.

Naruto proceeded to rapidly clash weapons with Iron Khan, deflecting incoming strikes and retaliating with his own only for them to be blocked as well. Throughout the fight, he refused to unsheathe the katana. Iron Khan managed to knock the Masamune out of Naruto's hands and wasted no time to attack but the blonde kitsune triggered his Swift Release to move around to get behind and counter with a strong kick to the back of the controlled simian's head, sending him bouncing along the ground. Naruto stretched a hand for Masamune to float back to him and retook his stance.

Iron Queen frowned at the sight of this "He's a ninja? How odd that I don't know of him, and that symbol on his clothes…,"

"My lady?" Snively wondered what seemed to be the problem.

Iron Khan rose back to his feet and frowned as he took in Naruto's stance "So you're a ninja, which clan do you hail from that they would dare go against the will of the Iron Queen?'

Naruto quirked an eyebrow in response "Are you seriously expecting me to just blurt it all out? Secrecy and deception are a ninja's bread and butter; besides you wouldn't be able to find my clan no matter how hard you try,"

Hearing this angered Iron Khan to the point that he called upon his dark cloud and rose to the sky with the grumbling sound of thunder all around "You shall pay for this slight with your life and your clan shall suffer as well, begone!" swinging down his Atom-Bat, Iron Khan called forth a massive lightning bolt from the sky to strike Naruto in a blinding flash of light before anyone could react in time much to everyone's horror at what had just happened.

Iron Queen cackled in delight "Mree-hee-hee-hee! Another fool turns to ash, I see no reason why you would be so worried abou-," whatever she was going to say was interrupted by the sound of a voice that wasn't supposed to be heard.

"Geez, I was expecting something cooler like 'May the lightning of judgement smite thee!' or other lines like that!" stepping out from the dust cloud was none other than Naruto Blue bolts of electricity arcs through his body with a majority emitting from his hands "Guess my expectations were too high,"

Iron Khan couldn't believe what he was seeing "How is this possible?!"

Naruto looked up with a smirk on his face "Goes to show how little you know of kitsunes, we're a whole different class of badassery. Allow me to illustrate,"

"Die!" Iron Khan launched another blast of lightning at Naruto who simply stood there, allowing the blast to land on him before being absorbed into his body much to the disbelief of the opposing side "What?!"

"Now it's my turn, Lightning Spear!" Naruto put his hands together and spread them apart, creating a spear of blue crackling electricity. He suddenly appeared in front of the controlled simian in the middle of attack, forcing him to defend himself. They rapidly exchanged strikes upon each other with sparks flying from every collision, Iron Khan pushed Naruto back and quickly built some distance to prep for a long-range attack which he did by firing a blast of lightning, Naruto countered by throwing the spear towards the incoming attack and cancelling it out.

Suddenly something flew towards Iron Khan who tilted his head to the side, revealing to be a strangely shaped kunai. Before he could react to this oddity, there was a flash of yellow before fading to reveal Naruto right where the thrown kunai was with a fist coated in lightning reared back "Thunder Punch!" then struck him right in the face and sent him crashing into ground then landing afterwards.

Iron Khan rose to his feet and glared at Naruto in rage "I shall not be defeated by a copycat!"

Naruto quirked an eyebrow "Fox if one is to be specific about this, also if you're gonna make a fuss about me beating you with your own element then I'll just change to another one,"

"Wha-,"

Naruto switched from the Lightning aspect to the Air aspect as a strong gust of wind now swirled around his body, the blonde kitsune and Kurama grinned mentally as they sensed shock and disbelief from the Iron Queen as well as fear budding from Snively "Now you can't complain about me being a copycat, right?"

"He can use multiple elements?!" said Iron Queen in shock, just how powerful is this fox's clan and yet no one had seen or heard of it?!

Iron Khan gritted his teeth in anger "You dare mock me?! I shall not stand for this!" he raised the Atom Bat above his head with both hands and began concentrating a really, really large amount of lightning in the air, making everyone's hair stand on end which told them than something big is coming "Tumultuous Thunderclap of the Enraged!" he brought the Atom-Bat to call forth numerous lightning bolts down towards his target.

Naruto grabbed the sheathed Masamune and took an Iai stance whilst the winds seeped through the sheath and into the blade "You're not the only one with a mega move, Tempestuous Flash!" he swiftly unsheathed his blade to unleash a literal storm of wind slashes that cut through every single lightning bolt before any could get close to him. Not even Iron Khan was spared as he was also subjected to the attack with his body being slashed from all directions before crashing to the ground and laying down unconscious, Naruto swiped several times before returning the Masamune to its sheath in a fluid motion and having it float back to its original position.

"I believe we're done here, right?" Naruto asked without looking up.

Iron Queen glared at Naruto; the purpose of the battle was to reduce the morale of the Freedom Fighters as well as the citizens of New Mobotropolis. But the opposite happened, all because of this mangy nine-tailed mutt! "We shall retreat for now, but know that your death is inevitable and the same goes for your clan as well!"

"Just get out of here already before I start thinking of blasting you out of that pod of yours,"

"Grrrr, we're leaving!"

"Y-Yes, my queen!" Snively stammered a response, following the Iron Queen and not even glancing at Naruto out of his newly developed fear of the kitsune.

Hearing rapid footsteps, everyone turned to see Sonic run up to them with a Power Ring in hand "Hey guys, I finally got the…," the hedgehog trailed and let out a low whistle at the aftermath "Whoa, you weren't kidding that you had things handled,"

"Of course I did though I had to reduce the full power of my attacks by half so as not to hurt him badly, what's with the ring anyways?" Naruto inquired.

"The headband that Khan wore before was a Power Ring so I rushed over to the Lake of Rings to get one. It took some time with Nicole having to reroute power to produce one," Sonic explained, Sally took the ring from him.

"Let's use this one and hope it works," She placed the ring on Monkey Khan and everyone watched as the green glowing markings faded away and his body reverted to normal, then the simian gradually opened his eyes with a pained groan "Are you okay?"

"…not really…," said Monkey Khan, feeling both physically and mentally exhausted whilst covered in cuts and bruises.

"Hang on while I fix you up," said Naruto before activating his Life Aspect with his body being covered in glowing cyan tribal tattoos and his eyes glowing the same color, he held out his hands towards Khan with the cyan aura flowing from them into the simian's body to begin the healing process.

"Hey Khan, could the reason why you were so angry when you saw us celebrating and why you said there weren't any Freedom Fighters to contact in the Dragon Kingdom be because…," asked Sonic, realizing the truth and no one's liking it.

"She used you to take down the Freedom Fighters there," Naruto concluded with anger, having wished to have blasted her earlier for this.

Khan bowed his head sadly "Yes…it's all my fault. She released me after the Freedom Fighters were no more, to break me. I tried to fight back on my own, but I couldn't do it…I was too weak,"

"Then you came to us for help, but got upset when you saw us celebrating. I'm sorry for your loss," Sally looked down at the sullen simian in sympathy.

However, someone wasn't feeling sympathetic at all as Antoine grabbed Monkey Khan by the collar of his tattered vest "And you chose now to tell us?! I almost lost my wife because of you if not for Naruto saving her before something terrible happened to her! She almost paid for your mistakes!"

Sally came in between to separate them "Calm down, Antoine! Now's not the time to lose your head!"

Monkey Khan shook his head in disagreement "No, he's right. I should have told you so you could have been better prepared against the Iron Queen,"

A voice spoke up "No he's not, I mean not really," everyone turned to see that it was the children; Rory Bear, Sasha Cat and Snaggle Tiger.

Snaggle Tiger spoke timidly "We lost our parents to Robotnik's war, just like you lost your friends to the Iron Queen,"

Sasha Cat added "Sometimes we blame ourselves, thinking that it's our fault for being too little and weak to help,"

Rory followed up "But Aunt Rosie says we can help in our own way, that we have to help each other,"

"And we're all strong because everyone else is," said Sasha with Snaggle nodding in agreement.

"So, we'll be strong for you and you have to be strong for us," Rory approached Khan and stretched out a hand to him "Deal,"

"…," Monkey Khan was surprised to hear such from children that disliked him at first but are finally coming round to him, a smile graced his face as he took the hand into his own and shook it "Deal,"

Naruto smiled at the three children for their words after he had finished healing Monkey Khan before deactivating the Life Aspect "You kids have heart, I hope you never lose it,"

"I find it saddening that these younglings were forced to grow, all because of the greed of one man," said Kurama.

"I know, pretty sure that my dark side would have found satisfaction with the sort of karma on Eggman," thought Naruto, he could have sworn that he heard a snicker echo in his mind which didn't belong to the Bijuu.

Monkey Khan turned to Antoine and spoke "Can an 'I'm sorry' be a start?"

Antoine nodded with a small smile "Oui, and I'm sorry for my frostiness,"

Sonic softly bumped an elbow against Antoine with a sly smile "You know, I was about to say remember your old yellow streak,"

"Oui, I recall it all too well," the coyote grumbled.

"Because I could totally bring it up now,"

"I know,"

"I've got a looong list,"

"Stop it," Antoine turned to Naruto "I'd appreciate it if you could take me to my wife posthaste,"

Naruto nodded in affirmation "Hang on a moment and I'll have a clone take you to the HQ,"

"I'll be taking the kids back to Aunt Rosie then meet up with the others, I'll see you later," said Sally before guiding the kids away whilst Naruto had a shadow clone warp Antoine to the FF HQ before joining Sonic to speak with Monkey Khan.

"Alright Khan, let's see if we've things straight; we've the Iron Dominion controlling the Eggman Empire along with the Dark Egg Legion working for them, four houses of ninja clans, and they've got two bases of operations being the Egg Dome and their old base back in the Dragon Kingdom. Are we missing anything so far?" Sonic summarized.

Monkey Khan shook his head "No, that's about it,"

"At least we've identified several core points relating to what we're facing, now we can work on what steps to take," said Naruto thoughtfully.

"Yup, we've got a list of butts to kick all set up," said Sonic with a smirk "Now, let's head back to the others and tell them what's what,"

"Alright then," Naruto was about to leave when Monkey khan called out to him.

"Wait, there's something I need to ask you," said Monkey Khan.

Naruto quirked an eyebrow "What is it?"

"Just how strong are you?"

The blonde kitsune hummed thoughtfully before speaking up with smile "Enough to be able to help the ones dear to me, and working to get stronger so I wouldn't let them down when they need me the most,"

"I see…,"

"Let's go, Naruto," Sonic spoke up.

"Right behind ya,"

The duo sped off, leaving Monkey Khan alone with his thoughts over everything that had occurred.

This is Hussbek online with the latest chapter; following the defeat of Eggman, a concert was in order with Naruto and Nicole taking the opportunity to put up a show for everyone. However, it was disrupted by the arrival of Monkey Khan who revealed to everyone that Iron Dominion has made their appearance and took over what's left of the Eggman Empire. Sonic and Monkey Khan went to scope out the situation whilst Naruto went to Albion with Knuckles and Julie-Su to help them prepare for whatever might come their way. They got called back to learn that Iron Dominion were stronger than before and that Espio had turned against them. Things grew even more tense with the Iron Queen and Snively appearing at New Mobotropolis where the former displayed her Technopathic powers by controlling Bunnie and forcing her to attack the Freedom Fighters until Naruto intervened by warping her away, Snively had a backup in the form of a combat bot by the name of Kilgore to face them. Monkey Khan appeared to assist the Freedom Fighters in destroying the bot but had let his guard down that Snively snatched the headband which shielded him from the Iron Queen's powers and was now forced to fight them. Naruto returned in time to help and proved to be more than capable of subduing Khan until Sonic returned with a Power Ring to turn the simian back to normal, the Iron Queen and Snively had to retreat to their base albeit begrudgingly as the sight of the kitsune's display of skill and power with the intent of figuring out his origins. Now with proper knowledge of what they're up against, Naruto and co will start making preparations for what's to come.

Pretty sure you guys know by now, the Kilgore came from the Killer Instinct series as a small cameo of sorts. No doubt you guys want a showdown between Naruto and the Iron King and rest assured it's gonna happen as well as certain things in the mix. One of my longest chapters, goes to show that I was in overdrive for it. Next story for an update will be the Kitsune Striker and again I'd like to repeat that I'm not dropping any of my stories despite how it looks. Honestly, I want to divide some of my stories into seasons due to their crazy lengths. All in all, read and review like always.
