Here is the newest chapter of Is the dark all dark. I hope everyone enjoys. I did want to make a note to one of the reviews left on the previous chapter to say thank you for pointing out a mistake I had made. I'd forgotten previously that i had already mentioned Harry being emancipated in Chapter 5 until going into more detail in the last chapter. It is something I am working on fixing even if it's just tying into the idea they had left.

I don't own the rights to any of the Harry Potter Characters or the Hogwarts Universe.

Remember to leave me a review on thoughts. Enjoy

Is The Dark All Dark?

Chapter 14

Harry was silent as he sat at one of the tables in the Leaky Cauldron, glancing around ever so often, clearly uncomfortable. Tonks offered him a reassuring smile, attempting to help ease his nerves.

"I thought they would have been here by now. Since…Remus got a letter saying to meet them here at lunch." he muttered, reaching up to brush his bangs out of his face. Tonks couldn't help sighing, seeing the unsure look on his face. He wasn't sure if he would actually trust the Malfoys or if they even actually wanted him for him or if they wanted him for the fame and reputation his name would bring once it came out he was their missing son.

"I'm sure they're just running late. Maybe they had something they had to handle at the ministry or something." Tonks attempted to suggest. Harry leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes in an attempt to distract himself from the overwhelming sense of disappointment the thought of them not showing up gave him.

"That is correct Miss Tonks. We do apologize for keeping you both waiting so long." Lucius stated suddenly, resting his hand on his son's shoulder. Harry jerked up, spinning around in surprise at his father's voice. He normally was able to tell when someone was walking up behind him, however, he'd been unable to sense either of them until he was already speaking. Narcissa offered him a small smile as she sat down in one of the available chairs next to her son, briefly looking him over as she attempted to search for any changes since she'd last seen him during the first task.

"No problem at all. Just had Harry here a little nervous that you'd changed your mind." Tonks stated, offering the Gryffindor a grin. He blushed, ducking his head in embarrassment.

"We're really very sorry Harry. We just had to handle a few things at the Ministry than Fudge wanted to keep me even longer talking about the tournament." Lucius attempted to explain, unused to the feeling of regret that had settled into his stomach at the look on his youngest face.

"It's fine." Harry muttered, rubbing his arm for a moment.

"It's not fine. Clearly this bothered you and we will try our hardest to not keep you waiting so long again." Narcissa stated, reaching over to grab his hands between her own. He managed a slight nod as he pulled his hands back, not failing to notice the brief hurt that flashed across her face. Lucius sat beside his wife, waving over Tom to take their order.

"How are things going at Hogwarts? Hopefully its been a rather uneventful year outside of having to participate in that blasted tournament." Lucius questioned, taking a sip from his glass as he watched his son's face.

"It's been…ok. I mean I'm not…actually attending Hogwarts. Just…staying on the grounds. Tonks and Remus are teaching me." He explained, shifting slightly in his chair. He didn't fail to miss the look Mr. Malfoy gave Tonks, knowing that he probably didn't approve.

"You're being taught by a were…ex-defense against the dark arts professor and an auror?" he questioned after several moments of awkward silence. Narcissa offered her husband a brief glare before turning her attention back to her son. Harry bristled, sitting up straight in his chair as he opened his mouth to object. Tonks quickly stepped in, hoping to stop the situation from escalating into something that would have everyone involved saying something they didn't mean.

"Mr. Lupin has his mastery in both defense and history of magic. Plus, from what I've seen he clearly excelled in school with his other subjects. Added fact, even though my mother was disowned, I grew up in a strict but caring Black household as well as being personally trained by Alastor Moody." Tonks explained. She glanced between Narcissa and Lucius for a moment, easily noticing the look the two of them shared.

"How…how is Andromeda?" Narcissa suddenly questioned, her question catching them all off guard. Harry glanced at Tonks for a moment, confused by his mother's question. The metamorphagus' hair flashed another color before settling back to the normal pink in surprise.

"She's…doing well. She mostly stays at home or helps my dad with his law practice in the wizarding world if he's busy with something in the muggle world." She explained, tilting her head slightly. Narcissa offered a small smile as she thought about her sister. Lucius glanced at his wife for a brief moment before turning his attention back to his son. Both males were confused by the sudden change in topics, but he could guess both of them wanted to prevent any type of falling outs between the four of them.

"Well Harry, Mr. Lupin did let us know that you still don't have any dress robes for the Yule Ball? I know it's still a few months away but if you wait until the last minute all of the good seamstresses will be swamped with work." Narcissa stated, turning her attention back to her son. Harry grumbled slightly, leaning back in his chair again with his arms crossed. He hated the thought of having the attend the ball and dance in front of some many people, just knowing he was going to make a fool of himself.

"Do you know who you're going to ask to the ball?" Lucius questioned, already knowing his wife was thinking about which seamstress she wanted to have make Harry's dress robes. Harry shifted slightly in his chair, an unsure look crossing his face again.

"I…I don't know honestly. Before this year the only girls I even spoke to were Ginny and Hermione but now I don't even have that." He muttered, glancing at Tonks.

"Draco mentioned that you've been spending more time with his group of friends. What about Miss Greengrass?" Lucius questioned, not missing the blush that suddenly lit up his son's face.

"She…She's nice." He muttered, not able to bring himself to look at his parents. Tonks couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head as she thought about the countless times she'd caught the two of them out near the lake. She could clearly see that Harry had developed a small crush on the girl that she'd heard referred to as the Ice Princess.

"She's a pureblood heiress so she would be an ideal match for you." Lucius muttered, thoughts of an alliance between their family with the Greengrass. It would be beneficial in helping to keep their reputation clear. The Greengrass family was a known Grey family, refusing to side with either the light or dark side. He remembered hearing Dumbledore's complaints during many Wizengamot because Lord Greengrass was basically the spokesperson for the Grey families. Narcissa gently kicked her husband under the table to regain his attention. Lucius jumped glancing from his wife to their son, noticing the sour look on Harry's face.

"Why don't we enjoy our lunch than we can go to get your dress robes?" Narcissa suggested, glaring at him for a brief moment. The group ate in a comfortable silence, only occasionally speaking about small things. Narcissa couldn't help watching Harry eat, noticing how he seemed to only take small bites ever so often, mostly just pushing the food around on his plate to make it look like he'd eaten something. She could tell that he was lost in his thoughts, wishing there was something she could do to catch his attention without gaining either Tonks or Lucius. She jumped slightly, startled when he suddenly pushed away from the table.

"I'm…going to step outside." He muttered without looking at any of them. Tonks sighed, watched as he effortlessly slipped around people, stepping out of the pub.

"He…doesn't normally like to sit still for very long. Especially in crowded areas. It's no wonder Remus said several of his professors at Hogwarts complained about his inability to stay still for long periods of time." She explained, seeing the concerned looks on the Malfoys' face. Narcissa couldn't help frowning, turning her attention back to the door. She gently placed her hand on her husband's shoulder before following after their son. Harry was leaning against the brick wall that stood at the barrier to Diagon Alley, his arms crossed as he chin rested against his chest. She carefully stepped forward, reaching out to brush the blue-blonde bangs from his face. He jumped slightly, jerking his head up to look at her.

"What's bothering you?" she questioned softly, pulling out her wand to tap the brick.

"Just…a lot of different things I guess." He muttered with a shrug.

"Does meeting with us today have something to do with it?" she questioned, glancing at him once the barrier had disappeared. They walked in silence into Diagon Alley, Narcissa letting Harry decide if he wanted to tell her anything.

"Some of it does I guess. I just…since all of this…gah. I don't know. I just feel like I'm betraying my mom and…the Potter's sacrifice. It's been four months and I'm still no closer to figuring all of this out. Then there's the fact that I'm stuck in this stupid tournament, I currently live out of a damn tent, the girl I like is a Slytherin. I don't even know who I am anymore!" Harry finally vented, reaching up to jerk his fingers through his hair. Narcissa quickly grabbed his hands, holding them gently in her own as she looked at him. It broke her heart seeing the tears that threatened to fall. The green ring around his eyes seemed to glow for a moment as his magic flared.

"I know all of this feels like such a mess Harry. And the feelings you have? They're normal. I can't think of a single person would be perfectly fine with everything you've gone through in just a few short months." She attempted to assure him. She easily pulled him forward, wrapping her arms tight around him as he finally broke down. She glanced over his head, watching at Tonks and Lucius walked towards them, the latter slipping his wand back into his cane after casting a notice me not charm.

"I…I just want everything to go back to the way it was. I want to go back to Hogwarts without having to worry about whether someone is going to fuck with my life or if my friends are going to stab me in the back. I just want to be a normal teenager." He whispered, a broken and weary tone to his voice.

"And I promise we will find a way to make that happen." Lucius stated, resting his hand on the center of Harry's back.

Once Harry had calmed down he pulled away, ducking his head as he reached up to wipe the tears from his face. He couldn't help feeling slightly embarrassed but getting his worries out in the open felt like taking a huge load off his chest. Narcissa couldn't help smiling slightly before she gestured towards one of the higher end robe shops, letting him walk ahead.

"He's got way more on his plate than any normal 14 year old should." She sighed, shaking her head. She took Lucius arm, following after him. Tonks couldn't help watching them, a small smile on her face as she saw Harry's more relaxed stance. Their trip to Diagon Alley proved to be just what Harry needed, fully smiling for the first time in months as he listened to his mother's opinions on his dress robes. Lucius stood back with his arms crossed watching his wife sort through different fabrics, occasionally holding one up to look at it compared to Harry.

"I…I hope we can see you again soon?" Narcissa questioned as they stood close to the Leaky Cauldron, a hopeful look in her eyes. Harry stood next to Tonks, holding the package containing his dress robes close to his chest. He couldn't help smile, tilting his head slightly as he tried to think about when would possibly be the next chance to spend time with them. He'd been terrified, thinking that he'd be betraying Lily and James if he accepted the Malfoys as his family. However, spending time with him had shown him that he had plenty of room in his heart for both sets of parents.

"I think maybe next week would be ok? And maybe you could…help me with dance lessons for the Ball? Or we could spend more time going over my estates?" Harry suggested, ducking his head slightly in embarrassment. A broad smile broke out across her face as she looked up at Lucius, hope blooming in her chest at the thought of spending more time as a family. Tonks placed her hand on his shoulder, appariting them back to Hogsmeade. They walked in a comfortable silence back to Hogwarts, Harry spending the walk lost in his thoughts.

I hope everyone enjoyed the latest chapter. Harry was finally able to get a few things off his chest and get to spend a little time with his bio parents without the overwhelming guilt of betraying the parents that sacrificed for him.

Remember to leave me a review on what you thought. However, remember that while questions and constructive criticism is always welcome, hate and flames are not. Already working on the next chapter so keep a close eye out for the next update.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.
