Chapter 75: Cybersecurity and Sky Brawl
With Carol behind the wheel of the Barrage while Naruto, Nicole, Bladewolf and the Chao were seated, the group left Westopolis and were driving along the freeway to rendezvous with Sally to find a way to combat the black alien invaders.
"There they are!" Carol called out while pointing ahead.
Everyone looked to see a large black truck with the Freedom Fighters logo on it pulling a twin-axle, large-sized black trailer with two stands towards the front, side extended walls with marker lights on the upper side, and side storage boxes. It too also bore the Freedom Fighters logo.
As Carol drove closer from behind, the ramp door came down on the road for her to drive up and go inside the trailer before closing up.
After exiting from the parked vehicle, Naruto and the others marveled at the interior of the trailer. Apparently, it has been divided into three bays; the bay at the far side of the trailer is reserved for vehicle storage which is where they left the Barrage, the bay in the middle is the medical section meant for treating injuries or sickness, and the third bay is the Command Center where they found Sally seated before multiple monitors, communicating with the other Freedom Fighters as well as keeping a close eye on the activities of the black aliens.
Sally paused for a moment to greet the others "Glad to see you're all okay, things are being rather hectic because of these aliens,"
Naruto nodded in response "You can say that again, things were a bit tricky at first but we were able to help GUN drive them out of Westopolis. Though I didn't see Sonic when we were there,"
"You know how he is, no doubt he had run off to the next spot where the Black Aliens would be sighted. I was talking to him before you arrived," Sally explained.
Nicole approached the computer terminal "I'll connect to the system in order to learn of their activities, we already have the general idea that they wish to inhabit the planet and are already modifying the ecology to suit their needs. We need to act quickly before the damage becomes irreparable," she placed her on it and proceeded to access the system.
"We even met the leader or rather his creepy floating eye, he calls himself Black Doom. I didn't even need Naruto's powers to sense seriously bad vibes from him," said Carol while she sat on a chair and spun around on it.
Bladewolf then spoke up "The recent attacks leads me to suspect that these invaders have been to the planet before.
"What makes you think that?" asked Naruto.
"They had clearly targeted these five cities on purpose and GUN wasn't able to react quickly enough as they were caught off guard and would have lost entirely had we not provided assistance,"
Sally frowned thoughtfully "When you put it that way, it makes sense. Some of the cities especially Westopolis have weak defenses against these kinds of attacks and the aliens know exactly where and how to strike. They're not attacking aimlessly but with purpose,"
Naruto frowned as well "All the more reason why we need to gain more information about them and act quickly,"
Nicole then spoke up to gain their attention "I believe I've just do so,"
"What's going on?" asked Carol.
"I'm detecting several strange activities online, one in particular having just breached through a highly encrypted government database belonging to the CIA,"
Naruto frowned "This has the Black Aliens written all over it, we need to put a stop to the hacking,"
"I have a duplicate of the Portal Device that Tails built in the SAC, we can use that to enter the cyberspace and directly engage the enemy," Nicole suggested.
"Then you have your next objective; you and Nicole will enter the cyberspace and prevent the Black Aliens from compromising the CIA's database," said Sally.
Naruto and Nicole nodded in affirmation with the former speaking "We'll get right on it,"
Nicole brought out the Portal Device from the SAC and entered the coordinates as a humming sound was then heard before a blue beam shot out from it and diverged to form a circular swirling portal before the group "That's the portal to the datascape, let's go!" they ran inside with Nicole returning the device to the SAC and jumping through the portal before it fizzled out to nothing.
"Good luck," Sally muttered lowly.
Upon exiting from the other side of the portal, Naruto and the others found themselves floating through the very internet that everyone uses.
"You know, I always keep forgetting that we're capable of literally going online like this instead of through our phones, computers and other stuff," Naruto commented.
Nicole giggles "Doesn't really surprise me, considering that I do it all the time,"
"Guess it's all about perspective,"
"Follow me, we can use the lightspeed circuit to reach where we need to be,"
"Light speed circuits?" asked Naruto curiously.
Nicole explained "They are circuits within cyberspace which is used for transportation of data, touching it will transmit our bodies as electron particles at high speeds,"
Locating one of the light speed circuits which appear as straight red lines with orange energy circuits running next to them, they touched it and were suddenly zipping along the circuit at high speeds while in their spinball forms.

"What is this sensation?! I feel weightless atop this light...," said Naruto in surprise.
"That's what one feels when using a light speed circuit," said Nicole.
While zipping along the circuit, Naruto realized that he could change the direction in which he wants to go before reaching the end of the circuit where they came across several GUN Beetles flying around and patrolling.
"We need to be careful, considering that we're entering the server of the CIA without permission, they might view us as intruders along with the Black Aliens," said Nicole cautioned.
"Then what do we do?" asked Naruto.
"Defend ourselves but we should avoid attacking them, I can freeze their programming for some time so we won't get attacked,"
"Then I can leave them to you since I'm not exactly the gentle type,"
Moving forward, the duo made it their point to avoid being detected by the GUN Beetles so they won't be attacked, but then they came across several Black Warriors wielding Black Swords and Light Shots.
Some of the Black Warriors began shooting at them with their Light Shots, but Nicole is someone who's in her element as she calmy stretched out a hand in front of her to manipulate the surrounding data to form a digital shield which blocked the incoming projectiles.
Naruto called upon the Kanshou Bakuya handguns as he jumped into the air over the shield and pulled the triggers to launch a shower of bullets down upon the enemies, then he slammed the pommels of both handguns together, making them combine and transform into a double-bladed melee staff. Naruto focused intently on the enemies ahead and time seemed to have slowed down to a crawl as he mentally marked them before throwing the bladed melee staff through the air like a spinning buzzsaw which sliced through the targets he had marked before flying back into his hand akin to that of a boomerang.
"Digital Projection," Nicole waved her hands to manipulate the surrounding data to shape into multiple assault rifles which took aim at the remaining Black Aliens and commanded them to open fire, defeating all of them.
Moving forward, Nicole manipulated the data once more to create several platforms for them to use to cross over the gaps to reach the other side where they came across large bronze colored crystals floating around, Nicole cautioned them that those are antivirus programs and that they could be careful around them. Venturing further, the duo came across someone familiar.
"Well if it isn't foxy, what a coincidence running into you here,"
"Rouge the bat, what are you doing here in cyberspace?" asked Naruto in confusion.
"Actually I'm sent here on a government assignment to track down a Chaos Emerald in the area, what about you?" Rouge responded.
"We're here because of the Black Alien breaching into the government's server and are trying to stop them from compromising the system," Naruto explained.
"If that's the case, you might want to head for the Core Program since that controls the data flow of the information highway system,"
Nicole's eyes widened in realization "Destruction of it could completely collapse the communication infrastructure, plunging the world into chaos!"
"These aliens are certainly being tactical with their invasion," said Kurama with a frown.
"I know, we need to stop them!" thought Naruto.
"Perhaps we can come to an agreement," Rouge spoke up.
Naruto looked at her in confusion "What do you mean?"
"I can guide you to the Core Program and at the same time, you can help me find the Chaos Emerald. We all gain something in the end,"
"Hmmm…I guess we could do that. Plus, the Chaos Emeralds might come in handy should a push come to a shove with these aliens,"
"Great! Then we have a deal," said Rouge cheerfully.
"We pretty much do,"
With a new member in addition, the group moved on through the cyberspace where they came across a searchlight far in the distance with a massive gap in between that would cost Nicole a lot of energy if she were to be creating platforms out of data and also waste time.
"So, any ideas on how to get there?" asked Naruto.
"You can try touching the searchlight, remember that your body is completely electronic without mass so there a few limitations compared to the real world," Rouge suggested.
"Alright then…," Naruto waited until the searchlight turned their way and jumped to touch it then he found himself being pulled towards the searchlight across the gap to the other side "Whoa, wasn't expecting that,"
Running further, they came upon a beam of green light which they used to safely descend towards a light speed circuit and were speeding through the cyberspace highway. However they had to watch out for firewalls that appear as large red blocks that are harmful to their electronic bodies so they had to constantly switch between circuits to avoid running into them until they reach the next section of the serve. The group were making their way through when the ground rumbled then something emerged before them.
It was a large worm-like being with solid dark brown skin dotted with thorns on it, especially around its mouths. Also, instead of a face, it has a wide red mouth with six flaps around it. The alien worm roared at the trio before burrowing underground while they felt the tremors beneath their feet.
"It's trying to attack from underground, watch yourselves," said Naruto with caution.
Rouge flapped her wings as she took to the air with Nicole following suit with her Digital Wings then the former spoke up "We've got that covered, but how are you going to deal with it?"
"…I have something in mind,"
Naruto closed his eyes in concentration as he felt ground rumble underneath his feet and that the alien worm draw closer to him. He suddenly leapt upwards into the air as the worm burst out of the ground with its mouth wide open in an attempt to swallow him whole and that was what the blonde kitsune was counting on.
"Foxfire Barrage!" Naruto thrusts his hands forward to fire a salvo of azure fireballs straight down into the worm's open mouth, burning it from the inside out before dying.
"Wow, talk about a mouthful," Rouge commented as she floated down towards Naruto.
"Comes from the experience of having been swallowed by giant creatures and figuring on how to escape before being digested," said Naruto and the Bat Thief could see that he wasn't kidding with that statement.
While trying to move forward, the group found their path being blocked by walls made of data but Nicole easily dealt with them in barely seconds then they zipped through a light speed circuit which they had to evade the firewalls like before to reach the other side. They entered a wide area where there were a lot of Black Warriors and the Sand Worms waiting to confront them.
"Looks like they've reinforcements, be sure not to let them overwhelm you," Rouge cautioned the two.
"No worries, I've trained for moments like this," said Naruto before accessing his Lightning aspect as blue bolts of electricity arcs through his body with a majority emitting from his hands while he charges forward towards the black aliens that started shooting at him which he evaded by somersaulting into the air
"Thunder Punch!" he coats both fists in electricity before swooping down to attack with a barrage of electrifying punches on the enemies at close range then he turned to target the others further ahead with the bayoneted handguns which were coated with electricity, he pulled the triggers to fire electric bullets which seem to paralyze his targets "Thunder Shot!" he calls upon the Star Ball from within as it's enshrouded in electricity before he launched it with a kick at the enemy in a soccerlike fashion, ricocheting off each alien upon impact while leaving behind a long trail of electricity to depict its movements.
"Shroud Spear!" Nicole commanded the bits to take on a formation before launching multiple spears of a special cloth which restrained them upon impact then she followed up with another attack "Rolling Ripper!" with a new formation, Nicole fires four razor-sharp boomerangs that sliced through the restrained aliens and finishing them off.
"From me with love!" Rouge hovered from above and began dropping bombs towards the Black Aliens, resulting in a series of consecutive explosions.
In the next area, there's a massive gap with the searchlights perched atop the tall pillars which are being guarded by GUN Beetles.
"There's a ton of searchlights here, you can use them like before," Rouge suggested.
"Yeah, but they not turning this way at all," said Naruto with a small frown.
"I believe I can help with that, just need to reprogram my rifle to be able to hack the searchlights for our use," Nicole shifted her Arms Case to rifle mode and readjusted its programming before taking aim at the first searchlight then firing a blue energy bullet which landed and she gained control to it face them.
"Nicely done, let's do this!" said Naruto.
They jumped into the light and were pulled towards it and bounced into the air, Nicole aimed at the next searchlight and shoot at it as well to make the light pull them towards it. They maintained this form of tactic until reaching the other side where they came upon another light speed circuit and used to reach the next area.
"There it is; the Core Program but that's strange…," Rouge looked around, a confused expression on her face.
"What's the matter?" asked Nicole.
"The Chaos Emerald is supposed to be somewhere close by, maybe I should take a look around. Be right back," Rouge flew away before they could say a word.
Right at that moment, the Black Aliens appeared and with clear intent to destroy the Core Program.
"Looks like we're gonna be a little busy holding down the line and preventing these guys from attacking the Core Program," said Naruto with a small frown at the sight of the enemies.
"In that case…," Nicole released her hold on the Arms Case for it to float next to her as she concentrated her Digital Powers to generate a Digital Barrier around the Core Program then followed up by using Digital Projection to create about four automated gun turrets around it "I've managed to create a secondary form of defense since we'll be serving as the primary,"
"Good idea, let's take care of these guys and make sure that the Core Program remains untouched," Naruto took a combat stance and stood at the ready.
"Right!" Nicole grabbed her Arms Case and pulled out the SMG to point it at the approaching aliens.
"I'll start us off!" Naruto accessed his Celestial aspect with a white halo hovering above his head as starlight sparkles around him "Now then, Light Beam!" he thrusts his palm towards the aliens to fire a white energy beam to strike them and repeated this several times before changing attacks "Light Speed Blade!" he conjures a sword out of light then lunges forward to attack with a flurry of slashes at the speed of light, barely giving the aliens any opportunity for a counterattack.
"I'll help too! Broad Circuit!" Nicole commanded her bits to take up formation then launch a wide-scale flurry of data which pierced through many of the Black Aliens, she then dashed towards the horde all the while firing four-shot bursts with her SMG until she was positioned amongst them "Orbital Edge!" Nicole commands her bits to Launches two high-density bladed discs that rotates around her and slicing the aliens unfortunate to be too close to her.
While fighting the aliens, Naruto noticed that some of the Back Warriors were trying to move past him to attack the Core Program "Where do you guys think you're going?" he used Shadow Step to cut them off as he brought out his Peacekeeper rifle and held it close to his mouth to utilize the voice command "Full Auto!" the rifle beeped in compliance then he held down the trigger to shoot rapidly but some of the Black Warriors are equipped with shields to block the bullets so he called another command "Armor Piercing," he switched ammo types fired bullets which truly pierced through the shields and the aliens themselves before pulling off a big move "Meteor Shower!" Naruto channels chakra through Peacekeeper as he hovers a foot in the air and launched small star-like projectiles rapidly which homed in on the targets.
Soon enough, no more Black Aliens appeared to attack them or Core Program again.

Naruto let out a small sigh of relief as he returns the Peacekeeper rifle to the SAC "I guess they've had enough of getting beat. But I won't be surprised that they'd try again while we're not here,"
"You raise a good point, Naruto. I should reinforce the barrier into a strong firewall to be able to at least protect the Core Program until the invasion is dealt with," Nicole flew up to the barrier and began to strengthen it. While she was doing so, Rouge returned with a frown on her face.
"Still couldn't find the Chaos Emerald?" Naruto inquired.
"Not at all, someone must have taken it before we got here," Rouge replied.
Naruto frowned "That's not good, there's a chance that we'll need the Chaos Emeralds to drive the aliens and it will be really bad for them to even have one of the Emeralds,"
"And that's the last thing we want to happen, I'll report back to the higher ups and let them know what happened,"
Nicole spoke up when she approached them "I was able to reinforce the barrier into a firewall it should be able to hold for a while at least,"
Naruto nodded in affirmation "That's great, time for us to head back to Sally and figure out our next move from here,"
"Better watch yourselves out there, I would hate to learn that anything bad had happened to you," said Rouge with a smile.
"Thanks Rouge, feelings mutual,"
At the White House, the President was gazing through the window towards the city while deep in thought. He was then disrupted from his thoughts by the sudden beeping of his answering machine before the caller began to speak.
{Mr. President, we have received a report from the Central Information Agency. Our ground troops have successfully pushed back the black aliens from Westopolis as well, we've also managed to suppress enemy forces in five other cities. There's also reports that the CIA's mainframe was under attack but was protected and granted a protective firewall. We're investigating the incidents now, there's a strong belief that this could be the work of the Black Aliens and are in search of the ones responsible for the protection of the mainframe}
The President pressed a button on the answering machine to respond to the caller "Tell the commanding generals that the United Federation will never surrender to terrorists,"
{Yes, Mr. President}
He turned towards a picture on his desk which shows Sonic and Shadow standing in front of the White House when it was taken "This planet was once saved from tyranny and annihilation by you two heroes. Now mankind must protect this peace…at all costs," he turns towards the balcony with eyes full of determination "We must stand united to defend our freedom against these invaders!"
Somewhere in a hidden base, Eggman was watching on the holographic monitor how the Black Aliens have been destroying cities without hesitation much to his growing displeasure since this is heavily contradicting his plans of world domination.
"Those idiots, they're destroying everything! How can I take over the city and build the Eggman Empire if there is no city! I'm at my limit, I have no choice!" Eggman turns to the Egg Pawns standing behind him "Send in the Egg Fleet, CHARGE!"
The Egg Pawns saluted in response and immediately ran off to carry out his plans to officially take the offensive against the Black Aliens, all for the sake of world domination which is his by right.
Somewhere high in the blue skies above the sea of white clouds, a highly unusual sight could be seen if anyone were flying there or piloting aerial vehicle; ancient ruins were flying through the skies and it has no relation to Angel Island with the clear evidence of the Black Aliens on board them. Even more so when we see Shadow and Black Doom on one of them.
"I bet no one expected this baby could fly," Shadow commented as he gazed at the flying ancient ruins.
Black Doom preened with arrogance "I transported this brilliant flying fortress to this planet over 2000 years ago. It's magnificent! The perfect killing machine…ready to impose terror in unimaginable ways!" he was disrupted from his monologuing when he caught sight of ahead of them and scoffed upon identifying what it is "Hmph, do these fools really think they could stop…ME?"
Shadow also looked and his eyes widened upon seeing the fleeting of large flying battleships and recognizing the color scheme and logo "Isn't that…the doctor?"
"Shadow…do not fail me," said Black Doom before disappearing.
"Tch," Shadow clicked his tongue before getting a move on as he contemplates on how to go about this current situation.
Unbeknownst to anyone aware, a plane was flying above or to be more specific the Freedom Fighters Quinjet which is utilizing Cloak Mode to avoid being detected. Inside was Naruto along with Lilac and Nicole with the latter being the pilot as they're looking down at what's going on.
"Looks like Eggman is making a move against the Black Aliens, but I don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing," Lilac commented.
"I would consider it a good thing since those flying ruins are going in the direction of the cities under the United Federation. Given what these invaders have been doing so far, I shudder to think what they would have done had Eggman not sent his fleet to intercept," said Nicole while she adjusts the Quinjet's flight.
"But don't go thinking that he's doing this out of the goodness of his heart, I bet he doesn't like the aliens doing what he's been trying to do all this time," Naruto pointed out to the others.
"Never even crossed my mind,"
"Still, we can use this to our advantage; while the doctor's army clashes with the aliens, we can find a way to ground these flying ruins," Nicole suggested to the two.
"Sounds like a plan, Lilac-chan and I will go down there and see what we can do about this," Naruto walked towards the opening doors with Lilac following after him.
"Please be careful,"
"We will," said Lilac.
The duo jumped out of the Quinjet and went into a freefall towards one of the flying ruins which they've marked as a starting point. Lilac latched onto Naruto as he thrusts both hands forward to launch twin jets of foxfire to slow their descent and prepared to land.

Upon landing, the duo boosted off a dash panel and sped through a long corkscrew loop before exiting it to launch off a dash panel to move through the air and landing on the next mini-island. They climbed to the top of a staircase and saw the Black Aliens combating the Egg Pawns which had been warped there as the initial offensive.
"How do you think we should go about it?" asked Lilac while adjusting her gloves.
Naruto unsheathed Masamune and Hazy-Moon "As unusual as it's gonna be, we'll help out the Egg Pawns fight the aliens but I won't say no to a bit of crossfire,"
"I can deal with that,"
The duo leapt into the fray and fought the black aliens; Naruto swiftly dashed around all the while slashing with his dual katanas and Lilac attacks with a combo of punches and kicks while also using her hair to whip her enemies with them.
"Lunar style: Crescent Strike!" Naruto held both katanas in reverse grips then performs a 180 spin to slash at the aliens in a clockwise motion before following with another slash in a counterclockwise direction "Nine Bladed Tails!" he hardens his tails to become bladelike as he slashes around him. Noticing that the Black Warriors starting shooting purple ring-shaped energy bullets towards him, Naruto moved to intercept "Swift Release: Bladed Shadow Dance!" after evading the incoming projectiles aimed at him, Naruto darted about rapidly and lightly around groups of enemies while using wielding his katanas to attack with his afterimages depicting his actions.
Lilac on the other hand was just as preoccupied with combating her own share of enemies "Dragon Swoop!" she leapt into the air where she curled up into a spinball form and launched herself swiftly at the target with a purple aura trailing behind her, repeatedly attacking the other Black Aliens "Aqua Vortex Kick!" Lilac lunges at the next group of aliens to attack with a jumping roundhouse kick coated with water.
Suddenly they heard heavy footsteps and turned to see an especially different variation of a Black Warrior as this one has a muscular physique and twice as large. It has nasty dark green skin with red colour starts from the upper arms to the end of the hands, and from their ankles to their feet. It also has sharp claws on both hands and feet whilst wielding a large sword.
"Finally, the big ones are popping up!" said Kurama, having been silent the whole time and enjoying the show.
"Maybe so, but it will go down just like all the rest," thought Naruto, he used Shadow Step to reappear in midair as he creates several shadow clones and they all began somersaulting while descending towards the giant alien being "Clone Spinning Axe Kick!" they proceeded to consecutively strike the alien's head and shoulders with heel drop kicks before flipping away and landing on all fours "Clone Body Slam!" they followed up by launching themselves to attack with a barrage of flying headbutts which knocked it to the ground and they quickly pinned its arms and legs to restrain it "Lilac-chan, you're up!"
"Right!" Lilac somersaulted high into the air for a finishing move "Dragon Boost!" She charges all her energy and launches herself like a comet, slamming into the large black alien and driving it deep into the ground upon impact.
Naruto nodded in approval with his clones dispelling themselves "Nice assist, let's keep moving and see about bringing these ruins down,"
After launching off a dash ramp, the duo landed before the entrance to an ancient temple. They were about to approach it when they saw a couple of Egg Pawns accompanying a flying drone which turned to face them then the monitor turned on to reveal Dr. Eggman.
{Hoho, fancy meeting you two here. I suppose you're here for the same reason} said Eggman.
"Not exactly but close enough, we're here to ground this thing and nothing more than that," Naruto crossed his arms in response.
{Then an alliance of sorts is in order, there's got to be some sort of peculiar power source that's keeping these ruins afloat in the air. The destruction of it would send these ruins plummeting to the ground}
"What do you think Naruto?" Lilac inquired with concern, knowing that they can't fully trust Eggman.
Naruto hummed thoughtfully "We'll cooperate with you for now since we share a common enemy. Afterwards, it's back to business as usual,"
Eggman grinned {Then we have an accord, I'll command my Egg Pawns to temporarily view you as allies}
"Sure, now let's get moving,"
They ventured inside the temple where they saw large statues of the large Black Aliens in the chamber and at the end is some sort of green spiraling sphere which is perched atop a pedestal and constantly pulsing with energy.
{I'm detecting a high-energy magnetic field. The jewel must be the power source} Eggman pointed out to the others.
"Then let's destroy it," Naruto and Lilac approached to do so when the statues suddenly shattered to reveal the actual giant aliens moving to attack "Of course there'll be guards, time to take them out,"
They moved to engage the enemy as Lilac swiftly darted around the swing of the alien's large sword before countering with a Water Cannon to knock it back then she leapt into the air to attack with an Oceanic Torpedo aimed at the head, knocking it down to the ground then finished it off with a Dragon Boost.
On the other hand, Naruto used Will-o-wisp to create miniature balls of foxfire which he controlled to fly around the giant black aliens to distract then he performed the Kitsune Fire Wheel to dash around and form a ring of azure flames, trapping them inside before finishing them off with a Foxfire Barrage.
"Now for the temple jewel," Naruto channeled chakra through his ECG-X gloves to create a large windmill shuriken which he threw at the temple jewel and destroyed it, causing the temple to begin shaking.
{You've destroyed the first power source which is causing the temple to rumble, you need to escape before it collapses!} said Eggman urgently.
"It goes without saying, now move it!" Kurama retorted.
Naruto and Lilac quickly ran out through the other side of the temple where there were several floating rock platforms that were separately at high elevations that they can't reach by jumping, the blonde kitsune made use of the Hiraishin kunai to teleport himself and Lilac to reach the platforms and get to the top. They were going up a large slope when the pillars at the top suddenly collapsed and began rolling down towards them.
"Naruto, the pillars are heading for us!" said Lilac worriedly.
"I got this!" Naruto rushes towards the incoming pillars whilst igniting his feet with foxfire "Foxfire Kick!" he attacks with fiery kicks, reducing the rolling stone pillars to rubble and clearing up a path for the duo.
Arriving safely at the top, they came across what appears to be a white and red coloured rocket with four rotors on the rear and has a handle attached below it while set on a small grey launching pad.
{You can use that rocket to reach the next place and it comes with a parachute} Eggman explains.

Naruto grabbed on to the handle of the rocket with Lilac holding on to him before they took off over to the next temple ruins, they deployed the parachute and were making their way down when the duo found themselves under attack by a swarm of Black Wings.
"Just our luck. Hang on to me, Lilac. I'll take care of these guys," said Naruto as he held onto the parachute with one hand so he could reach for his SAC.
"Okay, Naruto," Lilac held onto him tightly and he used his tails to wrap around her securely.
Taking out the Peacekeeper Rifle, Naruto held it with his freehand and shooting at the incoming aliens albeit missing some of them while downing others "Flare!" he called out a voice command before pulling the trigger to launch the flare which unleashed a blinding flash of light that left the Black Wings in disarray then he seized that opportunity to attack them "Hi-Ex!" he fired explosive rounds which detonated upon impact, taking the rest of the aliens out for them to land on the ground safely.
Entering the temple where the second jewel is located, the duo were attacked by those hulking black aliens but were soon dealt with before Lilac destroyed the temple jewel with an Water Cannon. They quickly ran out of the collapsing temple as they boosted via a dash panel to go through a large shuttle loop then launching off a dash ramp to the next floating ruins.

"What was that?" asked Lilac confusedly.
{Those aliens are refusing to go down without a fight, my battleships are getting shot down!} said Eggman with a frown.
"Sounds like we're on the clock; we need to destroy the temple jewels as fast as we can," said Naruto.
{You better hurry or I won't have any battleships left!}
"I fail to see how that's our problem," Kurama commented.
Manuveuring through the battlefield between the Black Aliens and the Egg Pawns, Naruto and Lilac came across another series of floating platforms like the ones before but then they saw a vehicle belonging to GUN called the Jump Vehicle which Eggman explains is capable of reaching great heights with a single jump so the duo rode on it to get across the platforms to the other side where they boarded a rocket to flying to the next ruin where the third temple jewel was out in the open for Naruto to destroy with a powerful blast of foxfire.
{Well done, I'm only detecting two of the power sources remaining} Eggman reported.
"Noted," Naruto replied.
Launching off the dash ramp into the next floating temple, the duo went inside and located the fourth jewel which is obviously being guarded and so they took to the offensive with Naruto being in the lead.
"Dark Break!" upon activating his Void Aspect, Naruto swiftly disappears into a shadow portal then another portal appears above the enemies and he drops out of it to launch a downward attack before repeating the attack three more times with the last one generating a radial shockwave upon impacting the ground and defeating them "Shadow Claw!" he lunges at the temple jewel with his hands wreathed in razor-sharp claws made from darkness and destroys it.
"Just one more to destroy, right?" Lilac inquired.
{Correct, then these ruins can fall back to where they came from!}
Exiting from the temple, the duo were surprised to see that they've flown into a thunderstorm while they were inside, then they got a call from Nicole.
{Naruto, Lilac! Are you are okay? The weather is becoming rather turbulent} asked Niocle worriedly.
"We doing fine, Nico-chan. We're on our way to destroy the final power source which will send these ruins crashing to the ground and depriving the Black Aliens of a powerful weapon," Naruto responded.
{Okay, be sure to keep in touch in case you need my help}
"Will do," said Naruto before ending the transmission "We're gonna fly through the storm, so…Dragoon!" at his call, a small black hole appeared in the sky and the air glider emerged from it then descended to hover next to him, they both got on and flew through the air, sure enough, they were being pursued by another but larger swarm of Black Wings.
"Here comes another swarm, let's blast them!" said Naruto before activating his Water Aspect "Water Dragon!" he raised his hands to gather the rainwater and form multiple small serpentine dragons before launching them to attack.
"Aqua Splash!" Lilac also gathered the rainwater and compressed into a small sphere in front of her, she struck the sphere with a palm thrust to make it launch a spiraling stream of pressurized water which slammed to some of the Black Wings and she constantly adjusted the trajectory to hit the others.
Finally exiting from the thunderstorm clouds back into the clear blue skies with no more pursuers behind them, Naruto and Lilac found themselves flying above the final temple which was serving as the leading pointing of the others behind it, there they caught sight of the final temple jewel perched atop a floating platform high in the air while surrounded by the Black Aliens acting as guards.
{There's the last of the power source, now for you to destroy it} said Eggman.
"I'll take care of it," Naruto leaned off the Dragoon and went diving towards the temple jewel in a freefall. As he fell, Naruto activated the Air Aspect as strong winds swirls around him for his forthcoming attack "Wind Assault!" he rears an arm back as wind swirls around and took on the shape of a spinning drill which he thrust forwards at the temple jewel, effectively destroying then he quickly warps back to Lilac on the Dragoon via the Hiraishin seal he had placed on the air glider.
{That's all of them! Though I wish it would have been sooner since I've lost 75% of my fleet} said Eggman.

Looking down, they watched as some of the ruins began plummeting to the ground below, signifying the successful completion of their mission.
"Looks like we're done here, so we'll be on our way," said Naruto as he prepares to fly away and meet up with Nicole before rendezvousing with Sally to know their next step against the Black Aliens.
{Wait, aren't you going to help me deal with the rest?} asked Eggman confusedly.
"We've done what we came here for and practically done a majority of the work for you," Naruto pointed out to the doctor.
"I'm sure you can handle the rest, catch you later," Lilac added before they flew off at highspeed.
They met up with Nicole who opened the door for them to enter the Quinjet while the Dragoon returns to where it came from to await being called upon once more.
"Mission accomplished, Nico-chan. We've managed to reduce the potential damage the Black Aliens could cause by a large amount," said Naruto as he took a seat to rest for a bit.
"Although we had to swallow a bitter pill and cooperate with Eggman in order to do so," said Lilac while she sat next to Naruto and allowed herself to relax.
Nicole looked back to smile at them "At the very least, everything turned out okay in the end,"
Naruto shrugged his shoulders "You have a point there, any news from Sally-chan?"
"Nothing as of now, we'll be heading back to FF HQ then we'll know what to do next,"
"Sure, we could use a short break," said Lilac, nodding in agreement.
"Then we'll be on our way,"
Nicole set the course for their next destination and proceeded to fly towards the Freedom Fighters HQ.
This is Hussbek online with the latest chapter, Naruto and the other meet up with Sally in the FF Mobile Operations Center where she briefs them on what's been going on and how the team is aiding others against the alien invaders. Nicole notices straight activity in the cyberspace and Sally sends her and Naruto inside to investigate. Once inside the cyberspace, they discover that the Black Aliens have intruded the CIA mainframe and are planning to destroy the Core Program which would put the planet into chaos and they met Rouge who was assigned by the government to retrieve the Chaos Emeralds which was stored in the mainframe. The trio made their way through the cyberspace and were able to drive away the aliens and protect the Core Program but the Chaos Emerald had been taken by the time they got there.
On the other hand, Eggman was greatly displeased as he witnesses the Black Aliens destroying the cities which are his to conquer and so decides to get involved by deploying the Egg Fleet to attack the aliens. Later on, Shadow was with Black Doom as they rode of flying ancient ruins that the latter have transported to the planet many years ago and is a powerful weapon when they encounter the Egg Fleet which was deployed to oppose them, Black Doom tells Shadow to deal with the doctor before taking his leave. At the same time, Naruto along with Lilac and Nicole arrive on the scene via the Quinjet with the intention to destroy the flying ruins. Naruto and Lilac make their way down and form a reluctant alliance with Eggman to locate the power sources and destroy them, hence putting a complete stop to the flying ruins. Upon destroying the temple jewels, Naruto and Lilac take their leave while unaware that Shadow was heading straight for Eggman himself.
Really had to plan for the stages to go with in this chapter since some involve the Chaos Emeralds and others relate to the storyline itself along the way. I'll be bringing in certain OC characters down the line and hope to make things interesting for you all. Be sure to read and review like always.
