REN's POV

Ren: "You lost your memories?"

Makoto Yuki: "I dont know, it's like I have fragments, but when I try to focus on them they just fade away."

Ann: "What do you remember?"

Makoto Yuki: "Falling... no I was flying? It's weird, I feel like I haven't moved my body in a long time. Yet it also feels like I just had the biggest fight of my life."

What? That doesn't make any sense. What's this guy up to?

Ryuji: "Really? You look like you've hit the gym a lot, your figure is really refined."

Morgana: "Since when are you a Physiologist Ryuji kun?"

Ryuji: "I'll have you know I studied Physi- that thing when my leg was recovering!"

Futaba: "I'm surprised."

Ryuji: "I can study when I want to"

Makoto: "And just how many hours of summer school did you do after you FAILED most of your finals?"

Ryuji: "Wha!? Do you gotta bring that up now? We're focusing on Yuki here."

Yuki kun lets out a chuckle. Which is seemingly out of character for him.

He only speaks when spoken to, and has a nonchalant demeanour, it's like he's screaming I don't care with the most monotone voice ever.

Yuki: "You remind me of a friend of mine, Ryuji Kun. Ryuji? No that's not right?"

What is up with this guy? Is he okay?

Haru: "Are you ok?"

Makoto looks distraught but quickly collects himself.

Yuki: "I'm fine."

Yusuke: "Ah, let us take Yuki kun out for fresh air."

Futaba: "Not a terrible idea for once Inari."

Yusuke: "FOR ONCE?"

Makoto: "Okay, let's go outside"

As the two of them argue, me, Makoto and our Makoto, head outside. (Two Makoto's, huh?)

Yuki: "Are they going to be alright in there?"

I'm a little surprised he cares.

Ren: "Yeah they do this a lot"

Makoto: "I'm going to head to the shop, do you need anything?"

Yuki: "I'm ok, boss took care of me"

She then leaves with a wave, (could've asked me if I wanted something too)

Just like that, it's me and him alone...

In awkward silence.

I decided to ask an easy question.

Ren: "What's the last thing you remember?"

Yuki: "I think... I remember looking up, at the moon. It's like the tale of the bamboo cutter."

Ren: "The story of princess Kaguya? She left for the moon and gave those she loved a potion for eternal life, and never came back, in a sense, you could say that's like she died and gave life to her loved ones, but in this case you're alive. So that's not the same."

Yuki: "I don't think I'm supposed to be..."

What do you even say to that?

"I think... I left some people I cared about with the intention of not coming back."

That resonates with me, I remember the plan to trick the police I had to let myself get caught, I but I didn't know they'd... I understand him.

Ren: "I get it, more than you realise. I had to leave my family too."

Yuki: "Your parents? You miss them?"

Ren: "No, well yes but that's not what I meant... Those people in there? That's my family, plus a few others including my Makoto."

Yuki: "For some reason, I understand what that's like, like I felt someone... calling me after I was gone... chasing me. I felt their warm embrace before I... I?"

Yuki winces in pain.

Ren: "Yuki kun are you ok?"

Yuki: "Yeah, I'm fine. This is weird, it's like I remember more about my past when I'm with you... Ren right?"

Ren: "Yeah, Ren. Is it alright for me to call you Makoto?"

Yuki: "When your Makoto is not around."

The two of us give a slight chuckle to ourselves.

Makoto: "Hey, I'm staying in your old room right?"

Aw shoot I need a place to stay.

Ren: "Yeah."

Yuki: "I found this while I was cleaning it out."

Makoto pulls a card out of his pocket and my heart almost stops... It's a calling card.
