Chapter 8: Training Day Part 2
The three Genin looked at the wall of blades as they wondered what to do now. Kakashi looked at the blades and wondered how they were moving in midair. Looking closely at their hilts he noticed that there were no chakra strings like those that puppet users had to control said puppets. Kakashi was amazed that these weapons were somehow floating like magic. Kakashi flinched when he saw Obito block a blade from hitting him. Looking to his teammate, Kakashi noticed a blade coming at him from behind. Kakashi immediately blocked the attack as he decided to get them out of this situation before it became any more trouble.
"We need to get to the trees and take out the people who are controlling these things!" He said to his two teammates. Both nodded as they ran to the trees, blocking the blades from hitting each other.
With Musket and Minato
"Well it looks like they're coming to the treeline. Is that really a good idea though." Musket said to himself while watching the three get to the forest as they disappeared, his bayonets falling to the ground lifeless as he stood up. Stretching, Musket looked to Minato with a small smile. "Welp I'm gonna go meet them if you don't mind. I'll just test them out a little, that's all." Minato nodded as he disappeared further into the forest so his Genin wouldn't sense his presence. Musket looked out to the forest as he examined the area, noticing multiple areas he could hide out of sight. "Oh this will be fun."
With Team 7
Kakashi examined his surroundings as he noticed that there was no sign of multiple people in the training area.
'Something doesn't feel right. There had to be multiple attackers but all the evidence for that isn't here. What's going on?' Kakashi suddenly heard twigs snap as he ran towards the sound, leaving his teammates behind.
"Well I knew it was too good to last." Obito said, annoyed that Kakashi left the group once more. Obito stopped as he heard the call of a bird he didn't recognize to his left. Looking in the direction he noticed a blade coming towards him. Obito felt a pull at his shirt collar as the blade just missed him. Looking behind him he gave Rin a thankful smile before they went in the direction the blade had been seemingly thrown.
In the trees above them Musket smiled as he watched the team split up again. 'Even I know you don't split the party in times like this. Well they'll need to learn eventually.' Musket thought to himself as he vanished in a wisp of mist.

Kakashi looked around as he noticed the sounds around him such as the breaking of branches and leaves being stepped on.
'They're close, but the question is where are they?' Kakashi thought as he noticed the noises suddenly stop. Kakashi grabbed a kunai from his weapons pouch as he waited for his opponent to make the first move.
Kakashi heard the whizzing of an object coming for him as he blocked another bayonet. Looking up to the tree it had been thrown, Kakashi noticed a blond haired man standing on a large branch with a cocky smile on his face.
"Well I'm impressed. Never would have guessed you'd have survived for this long. But without your team you'll be dead in only a few moments." Musket said in as much of an intimidating matter as possible. Kakashi looked at him with a scowl. "How did you sneak into the village? The border security should have noticed you by now."
Musket chuckled at the question. "Well they did, until I killed those who saw me."
Kakashi's eyes widened at hearing this as he knew this man must be at least Jonin to be able to take out border security and then hide from the Anbu. "What are you planning on doing?" He asked, trying to stall for time.
"Well since you asked so nicely. I'm looking for a man who killed my comrades a while back. Ever heard of Minato Namikaze?" Musket asked, hoping this would give him a reaction from the boy.
Kakashi showed no emotion. However on the inside he was terrified that this man would come for his sensei. Musket waited a moment before deciding to try to scare the kid a little more.
"You know, if I remember correctly he should have a genin team now. And now that I think about it you look like one of them. Maybe if I kill you he'll come to me." Musket gave Kakashi an evil smile before disappearing in a silvery mist. Kakashi was surprised to see this before sensing killing intent from behind as he jumped out of the way of a slash to the back of his neck.
Musket gave a slight smile at seeing the kid dodge his attack. Seeing Kakashi was still stunned from his surprise attack, Musket took the opportunity to try to attack Kakashi again as he ran at him with his bayonet in hand. Kakashi readied himself for the attack but was knocked back by a punch to the stomach, his back slamming into a tree. Kakashi gasped for air from the hit before jumping onto the tree, dodging a bayonet being thrown at him.
Musket looked up to the boy standing on the tree defying gravity. 'That might be harder to fake.' Musket decided to throw more bayonets at Kakashi who then tried to climb up the tree. Kakashi dodged every attack while looking down at the man, wondering what he could do to stop him.
Musket decided to try to screw with Kakashi some more as he put up a hand. Kakashi saw all of Musket's bayonets begin to dislodge from the tree as they rocketed towards him. Blocking and dodging the projectiles, Kakashi realized that Musket wasn't moving while controlling the weapons. Taking a chance, Kakashi threw his kunai at Musket who dodged out of the way and lost concentration on his bayonets as they fell to the ground harmlessly.
Kakashi took this opportunity as he ran at Musket with another kunai in hand. Musket brought out a bayonet as they began to clash blades. Neither let up as Musket noticed that Kakashi was much more nimble and quick then he would have guessed for someone so young.
Musket decided to play with Kakashi a little more as he blocked an attack from the boy before jumping back. Kakashi ran at him with the intent to kill but stopped when a swarm of insects swarmed him and began to sting at his skin. Trying to swat them away, Kakashi walked away as he lost sight of Musket. Just as soon as they appeared the insects left as Kakashi looked for Musket. Not able to find him, Kakashi began to grow angry before he realized that he was still alive. Kakashi then noticed his surroundings begin to blur as he rubbed his eyes. His eyesight became fuzzy as he fell to his knees, looking up to see Musket looking down on him.
"Well, it looks like you're done then. Those bugs of mine have a poison that makes you begin to fall into a deep sleep if in high enough doses. Too bad you won't be waking up from this sleep. Honestly surprised you'd leave your own team just to go after an unknown enemy by yourself. Even I had help getting into this village but you would rather go for me all by yourself. How foolish." Musket raised his blade, seemingly ready to kill the young man. Kakashi closed his eyes, ready for the end before he heard the sound of a fireball coming towards him. Opening his eyes he saw Musket seemingly be incinerated by Obito's fireball. Looking to his side Kakashi noticed Rin checking him over with her medical jutsu.
"The poison should only last for a minute. We need to run and contact someone about this." She said with a hint of worry in her voice.
"Why should we? He got incinerated last time I checked." Obito said, walking up to his teammates, the fire dying out behind him.
"Are you sure about that?" Musket came out of the fire, not a scorch mark in sight. The kids all became terrified as they watched the man brush off some dirt on his shoulder, no evidence that Obito even hit him with his best jutsu.
"What do we do now?" Rin asked, not knowing what they could do against this man.
"We need to go, now!" Obito grabbed a small pellet from his tool bag, crushing it in his hand. Musket launched towards the three ready to end this until Obito flung some type of dust into his eyes. Musket screamed as his eyes burned. Rubbing his eyes of the dust, Musket was too blinded to notice the genin disappear into the woods.
Obito and Rin ran as fast as they could while both carried Kakashi with them. The white haired boy began to return his senses just as his team stopped, exhausted from carrying him. "Man, did someone tell you you're heavy." Obito panted out.
"Oh shut up. Did we lose him?" Kakashi asked.
"I think for the moment." Rin said.
"We need to get to the village. Or at least another team. That guy's looking for sensei and I guess he recognized me." Kakashi said as he began to stand up.
"Well now that you say that, where is sensei at?" Obito asked.
"I don't know, but if he's after sensei then he must be good." Kakashi said while looking around his environment to see if the man had caught up with them.
"Why thank you for the compliment. Honestly I'm flattered." The three looked up to see the man above them on a tree branch. "Now I think it's time to get some payback for that little stunt you pulled, don't you think?" Musket landed next to Obito, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying.
He looked to Rin as he kicked her away as well before looking to Kakashi but noticing he was gone. Looking around, Musket saw Kakashi in the open fully awake, ready to fight.
'I need to put this guy down. But what can I use against him? Maybe that jutsu but it's nowhere near complete. Damn, it may be my only option. I hope this works." Kakashi began to weave hand signs. Musket saw this and decided to do the same as the boy, although much sloppier and slower then Kakashi. Kakashi noticed this and wondered why this man seemed so bad at doing hand signs but stopped that thought when he saw that the man in front of him was doing the same hand signs as him. 'What! He's copying my jutsu by just following my movements. That can't be possible. Unless he has the Sharingan, but his eyes aren't that of Sharingan. And his hand signs sucked. Who is this man?' Finishing his jutsu, Kakashi's hand began to glow with lightning with the slight sound of buzzing filling the air. Musket stopped his hand signs as his hand glowed with lightning as well. Both combatants looked to the other before Kakashi ran towards Musket with much more speed than he showed before. Musket readied himself as he ran to Kakashi.
Both moves clashed as lighting flew around them. Musket struggled against the immense force of Kakashi's attack, feeling like he was pushing against a ship rather than an eleven year old. Musket pushed with all his might before his strength won out, sending Kakashi flying. Taking a moment to breathe, Musket felt a sharp pain in his right hand. Looking down he saw burn marks in the shape of lightning running up his hand to his wrist. 'Impressive. I thought our attacks were evenly matched but no. His attack was far stronger. I only won due to pushing harder on my attack. If he did the same I would have lost that for sure. Damn I didn't expect this." Musket walked up to the boy to inspect if he was all right. Suddenly Kakashi puffed into smoke, startling Musket as he heard the sound of another fireball heading at him from behind. Musket turned around as he saw the blast coming towards him, Musket whipped his brow as he noticed a drop of sweat on his finger. Slamming his hand down a wall of water appeared, stopping the flames in their tracks.
The genin were amazed to see someone create water from thin air without even weaving a single hand sign. Musket noticed the kids were staring at him as he released his spell, the water falling to the ground in a large puddle. 'Well they seem impressed. Hm, maybe I should stop here. Then again this is to see them act more like a team. Maybe one more test.' Musket's right hand sparked with electricity before it turned into a lighting whip. Lashing it out he caught Obito I'm the attack as he reeled the young man towards him. Obito flew towards the man as he was shocked by the attack, pain going through his body. Rin and Kakashi ran to help their teammate, Kakashi attacking Musket with a kick that was blocked easily. Musket couldn't stop Rin's punch to his side as he grunted in pain. Obito began to stand and fight with his team, putting Musket on the backpedal as he regretted underestimating the three.
Stepping back the three advanced at him, ready to end this fight. Musket smirked before he clapped his hands together, suddenly the kids were forced back by some kind of powerful air blast as the sound of an explosion filled the forest. All three genin fell on their backs as Musket walked slowly towards them. Struggling to their feet, the genin prepared to fight to the end. Only to be caught off guard by Musket clapping.
"Well done. Not gonna lie you had me there for a sec. Granted I didn't use any of my more powerful attacks but honestly you guys would have gotten me a few times if I was less experienced."
Team 7 were confused at the man's sudden kindness before they heard the voice of their sensei. "You could have been a little more gentle on them if you ask me." Minato said on a tree branch above Musket.
"Hey I had to make sure they were as good as you said they were." Musket said, watching the man as he jumped down and walked to the rest of the group.
All three genin were now astonished to see their teacher talking to this man like they were good friends instead of enemies. Obito seemed to finally gain his voice as he looked to the two men.
"What's happening right now! I thought you were here to kill our sensei so why are you both acting like nothing is going on? I mean sensei, he just tried to kill us!" He yelled at his teacher.
Minato put his hands up as he began to speak. "Sorry about that. I had him train you guys for the day instead of me since I was helping him out with some things. Oh that reminds me. Do all of you remember when I went to go help out those Anbu against some maniac after our mission a few days ago?"
The three kids nodded, remembering their teacher ordered them to go get help. "Well. This guys the maniac. This is Musket." The three children looked at the man as he waved to them with a smile. "Hey."
"Wait, if he's the maniac then why is he here and not in the T and I department?" Rin asked, all three genin now confused.
Musket cleared his throat as he spoke up. "Well you see, I was on a long term mission and when I came back the Anbu mistook me for a foreigner and it went downhill for there. Thankfully Minato helped me sort everything out and I've been off duty for the last couple of days since then. Sorry about your sensei being late. I asked if he could help me out with something and I decided to help out with his training for today as a way to make up." Musket looked at the genin, hoping his lie would work. Fortunately they all seemed to buy it as they started to talk to their teacher.
"Well next time you should tell us if you're going to do something like that sensei. We thought we were dead back there." Obito said to his sensei. Minato rubbed the back of his head as he gave his students a sheepish smile. "Yeah I promise I won't let that happen again. Sorry about that."
"I don't know, I thought it was entertaining." The group looked up to the trees as they saw Kushina smiling down at them.
"What are you doing here?" Musket asked, looking to the woman in confusion.
"My team was off duty for the day so I decided to see what Minato was up to. I was surprised to see you here though." She said while looking at Musket.
"Heh, well I'll be. Well it was nice to meet you again but I'm gonna go get some rest cause those three war me out. See ya around." Musket waved to the group as he walked away, Minato and Kushina waving back.
"Nice to see him around. Though you could have told me you were training today I would have come to help." Kushina said to Minato. He chuckled at her as he watched Musket disappear from view. "Hey, how about I do it next time? But for now we need to get to our missions for the day. Are you making dinner?" He asked.
"Yep." Kushina smiled as she noticed Kakashi perked up at hearing she was cooking tonight.
"Alright then. We'll be home when we're finished." Minato looked to his team as they began to walk to get their mission for the day.
"Minato, can I ask you something?" Kushina asked as Team 7 began to leave.
"Yeah sure. You guys go, I'll be right behind you." Minato said to his students as they left him with Kushina. "What's up?"
"Should we invite Musket to eat with us? I mean all alone since he isn't even from here. I just don't want him to think no one's there for him, you know." She said as Minato thought about it.
"I don't see why not. I mean we both know how it feels to be alone so maybe we can make him feel more at home here. I'm guessing you feel like he's like you huh."
Kushina nodded at this. "Yeah. We both know how it feels to be torn away from our homes so I want him to feel, I don't know, a little better, you know. Show he isn't alone and can rely on us if needed."
Minato smirked at hearing this. "That's one of the reasons you had him come with us yesterday wasn't it. You could tell you both had a lot in common."
"Kushina smiled at him. "Kinda. I don't know why but before he told us about who he was I could tell he was like me to a point. Plus hey, he's not a bad guy to have around. Though from what I saw he was screwing with those kids a little more than I would have liked. Honestly I think he needs to chill a bit on his so-called training."
Minato laughed when he heard that. "I agree. But yeah I don't see anything wrong with that. Though I do need to know. Are you also doing this to try to beat him in eating?"
Kushina smirked at his question. "I beat him and we all know it. But hey why not beat him a second time."
Minato chuckled as he kissed her on the cheek. Waving goodbye both went their separate ways as Minato wondered how messy their dining room was going to be tonight.
'I'm gonna be the one who cleans it too. Man.'

This will have spoilers for some abilities that will be talked about in the next chapter so you can skip this until that one comes out to read about the abilities of the series so far. All original jutsu and abilities that are used have an explanation point in front of them.
ABILITY LIST:
This will be for all spells and abilities that characters do and or all spells that Musket does so none of you are confused. And I'll be doing the list from these past three chapters in order of appearance since I came up with this while writing this chapter.
I'll also do this whenever someone uses an ability, jutsu, or spell that wasn't used before.
!SHINING EQUIPMENT: the main weapons of all shining servants and the most powerful equipment in their arsenal.
!SAURUS' GREAT CHAINS: Rex's Shining Equipment. This staff in its deactivated state is a size altering staff that has helped Rex in many sticky situations.
!MUSKETS DRAGON CANNON: Musket's Shining Equipment. This Musket has the design of a dragon on the barrel. When Activated this weapon's barrel can be turned into up to two dragon heads with necks that can reach over 500 feet to attack an enemy. When Activated the dragons come to life and as a result have a limited senchience.
!CHAMPIONS LIGHTNING LARIAT: The main combo move of the Shining trio. This nove uses Muskets Dragon Cannon in its double head state to use. Rex and Beta ride on top of the dragon heads as the duo ride towards the enemy. Once close enough Beta uses his breath attack and has his flames go onto Rex's arm while at the same time Rex charges lightning into his arm before he jumps of his respective head, performing a lariat with the added momentum of the dragons blasting him into the enemy with their blast attack, done thanks to Musket pulling the trigger of the gun.
!ANTIQUE GIFT: This is the special powers given to a Shining Servant either through when they are made into one or through gaining one thanks to a very important life experience. They can be very simple or extremely common based on what they do and how one got them.
!DOUBLE BARREL: This is the Antique Gift of Musket. This allows Musket to hit enemies with almost no trouble, almost as if the bullets or ranged spells are homing in on their targets. This AG can also be activated to allow for more powerful attacks with a ranged weapon. This AG also has all ranged weapon and spells become silent to all that aren't Shining Servants.
GLYPH OF WARDING: This spell creates a glyph that can do one of two things. It can either explode with energy or it can apply the effect of another spell as if it was casting it.
FLY: This spell allows the user to fly. Pretty self explanatory.
!HARDSKIN: The first ability a Weapons set Shining Servant can uptain. This ability gives the shining servant a magical shine to their skin that gives extra defense to them along with it hardening their skin to the point that they hit harder.
FIREBALL: This spell is used by pointing at an object within its range before an explosion of fire erupts in a small area, Musket will usually use a cigarette as the object that makes up the center of the explosion.
MISTY STEP: This spell teleports the user a short distance away. It can look like the user turns into misty when using it or they just vanish. Almost anytime Musket disappears will be thanks to this spell.
CURE WOUNDS: A simple and effective healing spell.
MINOR ILLUSION: This cantrip creates a simple illusion that can be detected quite easily and fades if it is attacked.
ACID SPLASH: This cantrip allows the user to attack an enemy by hurling a blob of acid at them.
FLYING THUNDER GOD: A space/time ninjutsu that allows the user to teleport to a seal the user has placed on an object. These seals don't seem to be able to be removed by normal means and thus the user could use them to teleport to anything they placed a seal on at any time. This jutsu does however seem to have a very high chakra cost and thus only the most elite of ninja can even dream of using it.
!THE STORAGE UNIT: This is a pocket dimension that all Shining Servants can access even if only subconsciously. This is an infinitely sized dimension that no amount of time can travel through and thus anything that goes to this realm will never age. The only things that cannot go to this dimension under normal circumstances are living beings that are able to move on their own(aka animals). The only way to send a living being to this realm is with a special Antique Gift that can send one to the realm.
!SAGE MODE (INCOMPLETE VERSION): This is the incomplete version of sage mode that only lasts for a short amount of time and cannot be maintained for more then one attack. It can be used to increase one's sensing abilities and physical capabilities.
!RASENGAN (INCOMPLETE VERSION): This is the incomplete version of the Rasengan. Instead of being a bluish color it is instead the color of one's chakra and as a result is far weaker than the completed version.
ELDRITCH BLAST: This cantrip uses powerful crackling energy that damages enemies and structures with enough force to break bones at its weakest level of power.
PRESTIDIGITATION: This cantrip can make minor anomalies happen such as make a harmless sensory effect take place such as small sparks or noises, lighting up a small candle or campfire, warm or chill a small nonliving object, ect.
ADAMANTINE SEALING CHAINS: These chains are known to have been rare in the Uzumaki Clan and are made out of pure chakra that can in more powerful users restrain a tailed beast.
!BLADED LAND: This is the second ability that Weapon sets gain. This ability summons the weapon, or common attachments to the weapon, from surfaces that can harm one who doesn't stay clear of the weapons when they come out.
!KATANA OF THE HYDRA: The Shining Equipment of Katana. This powerful weapon is sharp enough to cut down anything that it's blade meets and has the design of a hydra on its blade.
FANG OVER FANG: An Inuzuka Clan jutsu that is performed by the Inuzuka and their ninken partner spinning at high speeds, attacking their enemies with quick and deadly strikes.
!ADAMANTINE GRAPPLING: This jutsu uses precise movements of the Adamantine Sealing CHAINS to grapple and hold an opponent.
!LEVITATING GRASP: This is the third ability that Weapon sets gain. This allows a Shining Servant to telekinetically control the weapon that they are named after along with any common attachments the weapon can use. More skilled users don't need to move any part of their body to use this ability and can do it with their thoughts alone.
WIND STYLE: GALE PALM: This jutsu is a simple wind jutsu that causes a powerful blast of wind that can push away enemies and attacks.
!WIND STYLE: WIND DOME BURST: This more advanced wind jutsu creates a dome of wind that can block attacks from hitting the user and any allies within the dome.
SHADOW CLONE JUTSU: This advanced jutsu creates a physical clone made by halving your chakra that can take light hits before puffing into smoke. Shadow clones can use any jutsu the user can do along with the ability to give memories and chakra to the user when they dispel into smoke.
TUNNELING FANG: This jutsu is an upgraded version of FANG Over Fang that has increased strength and speed but as a result the user must go in a straight line when attacking their enemy.
!ADAMANTINE DRILLING EMBRACE: This advanced jutsu uses Adamantine Sealing Chains by controlling them into the shape of a drill that can cause massive amounts of damage to whoever is hit.
THORN WHIP: This cantrip creates a thorny whip that attacks an opponent and can ensnare them.
FIRE STYLE: FIREBALL JUTSU: This jutsu creates a large fireball that can burn down an opponent in mere moments.
WALL OF WATER: This spell creates a water wall that can protect the user and their allies from attacks.
SHAPE WATER: This cantrip controls water around the user. This spell however cannot produce deadly force to an enemy unless under certain conditions.
RIME'S BINDING ICE: This spell creates a 30 foot cone of cold around the user that damages and immobilizes anyone inside the range of the spell, with the exception of the user.
SHOCKING GRASP: This cantrip creates electricity that covers the user's hands that can shock the enemy and can cause one that is hit by the attack to be temporarily stunned.
BIGBY'S HAND: This spell creates a large hand made of energy that the caster can control. The user must concentrate on the hand or the hand will fade away.
!FIRE STYLE: FLAMING CLAWS VENGEANCE: This fire jutsu creates flames on the user's hands that are similar in power to the Rasengan.
MAJOR IMAGE: This spell creates an illusion that is almost impossible to spot as one. This spell requires concentration to keep the illusion up and the user's concentration falters then the image will fade away.
SAPPING STING: This cantrip saps the energy of a target that doesn't have the constitution to break the cantrips effects. Once the cantrip hits the target they cannot move for a limited amount of time.
FLAME STRIDE: This spell creates a burst of flames from the user's feet that grants them immense speed for a limited amount of time.
SAGE ART: BIG BALL RASENGAN: This Rasengan uses the energy of Sage Mode to enhance its power and as a result it becomes much larger and more destructive.
LIGHTNING BOLT: This spell creates a lightning bolt that can attack in a straight line towards an opponent.
!DRAGON LIGHTNING LARIAT: This move is Musket's modified version of Rex's Lariat attacks. Due to Musket's less durable body he uses his hard skin ability to compensate. Once the attack hits a dragon made of lightning springs to life and does even more damage to the target.
!ALLO LARIAT: Rex's signature move. Using speed almost unseen by a normal person Rex slams into his opponent with more than enough power to split a man in half.
INFESTATION: This cantrip brings out a swarm of poisonous insects that envelop a target, stinging them with poison strong enough to knock out a person if left unchecked in only a few minutes.
!PROTO-CHIDORI: This jutsu was created by Kakashi after trying to add his lightning chakra into the incomplete Rasengan he had been taught by his sensei Minato Namikaze. Due to his inexperience with the Rasengan Kakashi's jutsu collapsed on itself and created this jutsu as a result. Due to its incomplete nature the move is not nearly as powerful as its final form.
LIGHTNING LURE: This cantrip creates a whip of lightning that can ensnare and grapple an opponent, causing them to be endured with large amounts of electricity.
THUNDERWAVE: This spell creates powerful sound waves that pushes anyone near the user back.
