At 11 P.M. Hogwarts time on the night of Sunday, November 9th, 1997, Neville, Ginny, Luna, and Sally were having a leaders only meeting in the Room of Requirement.
At Nevile's suggestion, Luna had asked the Room of Requirement to keep out the Carrows, Snape, and any supporters thereof.
The four leaders sat down in a row on the brown office chairs the room had provided them with this evening and Neville spoke up.
"So," piped up Neville, "We need to talk about this room. As of this nanosecond, Snape, the Carrows, and their supporters cannot enter the room. So long as at least one person stays in the room, no one can access it that we don't want to."
"We can't just stay up here though," said Ginny bluntly, "It'd be really suspicious if we rotated missing classes."
"What if there was a way for someone who isn't expected in class but that would on our side to stay in this room?" wondered Sally sadly.
"That's why I asked Luna for a leaders only meeting," replied Neville, "To discuss if that was a possibility."
"I've been thinking about this, and I have the perfect solution," said Luna, trying to sound humble.
Luna quietly dug her left hand into her left hand pocket and ejected a paper airplane while simultaneously retrieving her wand from her right hand pocket with her right hand. Luna then set the paper airplane down on the floor.
Luna pointed her wand directly at the paper airplane and cried, "Portus."
"Sally?" asked Luna quietly, "Would you please go over to the door and open it very slightly, immediately closing it again when you see the paper airplane vanish from the room?"
"Yes, Luna," replied Sally kindly.
Sally walked over to the door and held it slightly open while Luna performed a Banishing Charm on the paper airplane.
True to Luna's instructions, Sally closed the door again when the paper airplane was gone, and they heard the room's usual distinct locking sound.
A few minutes and a few nanoseconds later, Lily Moon had arrived in the Room of Requirement holding the paper airplane.
"W-what?" said Lily wildly, How did I?-"
"It's okay, Lily," said Neville reassuringly, "We have brought you here to do a very specific task."
"You won't be in any danger here, Lily," promised Ginny, "We have set up the Room of Requirement that Snape, the Carrows, and their supporters cannot enter."
"We've reformed the D.A.," said Luna calmly, "Do you know what the D.A. is?'
"No," said Lily honestly.
"The D.A. is a secret Defense Against the Dark Arts club founded by Hermione Granger and ordinally run by Harry Potter so that we could practice some Defensive Magic that year when Umbitch wasn't teaching us anything, " explained Neville, "No Slytherins were invited last time. Neville, Ginny, and Luna, along with newbie Sally are the leaders this time around. "
"When Hermione originally founded the D.A.," smiled Luna, "She made herself the mistress of a set of fake galleons. Every D.A. member had one and when Hermione set the time and date of the meeting, she'd change them on her coin, and she'd put a Protean Charm on all the coins to mimic hers."
"Hermione is currently away from Hogwarts and on a mission with Harry," said Ginny matter of factly, "But Luna had the idea to reform the D.A. and made herself the mistress of the coins this time around."
"I was one of the new invitees," smiled Sally, "I wasn't invited last time because of how shy and reserved I am, and Hermione was recruiting specific people she felt comfortable with. Neville vouched with Luna and Ginny for my inclusion this time owing to my exceptional talent in Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration."
"You are the second best in our year in all three subjects," said Lily kindly.
"After our first meeting," said Sally gratefully, "Neville, Ginny, and Luna offered me the opportunity to become the fourth leader. We are having a leaders only meeting tonight."
"The thing is," said Luna matter of factly, "We need someone to stay in this room at all times to ensure that the Carrows, Snape, and their supporters can't access it. However, it would look VERY suspicious if the four of us started taking turns rotating missing class."
"My job," beamed Lily, "Is to stay in this room at all times. Since I'm not supposed to be at Hogwarts anyway, I won't be missed in class."
"Exactly," confirmed Luna, "I wrote to your parents today explaining the situation and got a response back giving me their approval to bring you here. So, don't worry about them worrying about you. I know how hard these times have been for you."
'Will I be participating in the actual meetings when they happen?" Lily asked Luna.
"Yes," smiled Luna, "And there are three people who will be particularly happy to see you. One of them will be presenting you with a D.A. coin."
"You are sweet and kind, Luna Lovegood," replied Lily.
"You'll see who is in the group during the next meeting, expect the other muggleborns currently not at Hogwarts. We expect them to all come at some point later this year," said Sally briskly, "We expect a massive uprising and battle next spring, and we are predicting that it will culminate on May 2nd."
"By the way, Lily," suggested Neville, "Since you're going to be stuck up here by yourself most of the time, you could use that time to practice Defensive Magic. You could become very sharp and skilled and be a surprise force to be reckoned with when the major battle occurs."
"At some point," said Sally happily, "We will be delving into rarely used spells, long forgotten spells, and I plan to create some new spells of my own to catch the Death Eaters off guard when the time comes."
"I think," said Lily thoughtfully, "That it would be a good use of my time starting tomorrow to spend some of the time I'm alone in here practicing the things you've already taught the newly reformed D.A."
"Smart girl," said Ginny approvingly, "This room will provide you with what you need to do that,"
"I'd like to get some sleep," said Lily honestly, "I suppose I am sleeping on the floor."
"This room can always give you what you need if you ask for it," explained Neville, "Would you like a sleeping bag or bed?"
"I'd like a proper bed," said Lily bluntly.
Next nanosecond, a bed with green bedsheets with patterns of lilies and daises appeared along with a matching pillowcase that held a silver colored pillow inside.
"'You get this room, don't you Neville," said Lily glowingly.
"Yes, he does!" chorused Luna, Ginny, and Sally.
"Neville, Luna, Ginny, and Sally," said Lily sincerely, "Thank you for bringing me here and thank you even more for your faith in me. I know I have a fundamental responsibility to guard this room by staying here and I promise I won't let you down. I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity I have to hone my skills as a witch and be a valuable asset to the cause. I will make a meaningful contribution when the time comes. But, at this nanosecond, I need some sleep."
Neville, Ginny, Luna, and Sally all nodded at this, and they watched as Lily peacefully made her way over to her new bed and laid down upon it.
Lily shut her eyes and instantly fell into a deep and dreamless sleep.
