Hey readers - here we are with another chapter : ) We're really flying through them at the minute, which I'm really happy about : ) I just hope I can keep it up in the new year : )
Anyway, I don't really have an awful lot to say today, so let's move straight on to the voting topic. Unfortunately, I can't announce the winner yet since the last vote ended in a tie. I'll talk more about that in the closing author's note though : )
Beyond that, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that has reviewed, favourited and followed this story. I especially want to thank everyone that votes on the polls as they help to keep me motivated in progressing this story, so thank you all very much : )
Please remember that Pokemon is not mine, only my OCs are.
I hope you enjoy this chapter : )
Ash Catches A Pokemon - Part 3
After their initial encounter with and Ash's subsequent capture of Caterpie, Nolan and the others had spent the rest of the day hiking through the vast green labyrinth that was Viridian Forest, carefully manoeuvring their way through the trees as they delved further and further into the heart of nature, and further away from the reaches of human civilisations. Due to being so new at the travelling trainer's lifestyle, Ash and Nolan didn't exactly have exceptional navigational skills just yet, and as a result the entire group had ended up getting lost more times than they'd care to admit throughout the day. Thankfully, they also always managed to get back on track though, and so by the time that the sky overhead had turned from a calming blue to an inky black as night settled in, Nolan and the others were back on the right trail, and had fortunately made a decent amount of progress on their excursion through the forest. They were nowhere close to being out of the woods yet, but there was no denying that their first day in the forest had been a productive one.
Now they had been forced to stop and make camp for the night though. Since they were both still so inexperienced, it just wasn't safe for the new trainers to attempt to traverse the forest at night, even if they did have Misty with them. Nolan dreaded to think what his father's reaction would be if he ever found out that Nolan had tried to cross a forest in the dark, without really knowing what he was doing, or how to keep himself safe whilst doing it. No. It was a much better idea to just get some rest, and then pick up their journey to Pewter City again tomorrow morning.
And so that was exactly how the small group of travellers could be found that evening.
Having searched for quite a while, the group eventually came across a suitable spot to make camp for the night; a small clearing that would provide them with plenty of cover in case the weather turned, but was still open enough for them to make a hasty retreat if necessary. The three humans quickly made sure that there were no wild Pokemon around, and once assured it was safe, their campsite was established. With that sorted, each of the three humans quickly got to work, letting the Pokemon rest as each of them took on a task as they got everything ready for their first night sleeping under the stars.
Nolan had taken charge of setting up a small and controllable fire in a small ring of stones that he had set up. It took a while for him to get the hang of the matches, and even longer for a spark to take, but soon enough a small fire was crackling away in the centre of the clearing, providing them with both warmth and light, and casting eerie shadows through the trees.
Misty on the other hand, had ventured out from their clearing to find them some fresh water. It was a little spooky, traversing the forest alone at night, but at last she had managed to find a small stream, and deeming the water clean enough for consumption, Misty filled all of their canteens and several bottles until they were full.
Carrying them back to the campsite, she found that Ash had also been successful in his task - picking enough berries from the surrounding bushes and trees for everyone to feed on. The idea was that Nolan was going to prepare them all a stew, and the berries were to go alongside some various fruits that the blonde boy had brought with him from home. Perhaps not the most appealing of dinners, but it was better than nothing at all.
Finally, almost an hour after Nolan had first got the fire going, was it at last hot enough to cook anything on. Now Nolan wasn't any kind of expert or anything, and he hadn't had much practice, but he did a decent job of preparing some food for everyone. The stew was a little bland perhaps, but at least nobody got sick from it, and they all felt good going to bed with food in their bellies. Not that they went to bed straight away after eating of course.
No - now that the group finally seemed to be having a quiet moment where they could just sit and relax, the three humans had decided to take advantage of it.
Sitting in a triangle around the campfire, they just enjoyed each others' company, chatting and getting to know each other better. Misty was pleasantly surprised to find that she didn't feel like a third wheel with the two boys. Considering just how long the two of them had been best friends for, the young girl had feared that might have turned out to be the case, so she was glad that they didn't make her feel like that. Ash and Nolan included her in every conversation, eager to learn more about their new travelling companion. They talked and laughed and shared details about themselves and their dreams for several hours, and everyone was in high spirits by the time that sleep became a necessity.
All in all, it was a very pleasant evening, and by the time that Nolan was clambering into his sleeping bag for some well-earned rest, he was counting his very first night roughing it out in the wild a major success. Once inside the piece of camping equipment, Nolan set an alarm on his watch to wake him in just over an hour's time, so that he could douse the campfire. He didn't want to burn down the entire forest by being careless after all.
"Goodnight everyone" he managed to get out through a yawn.
A chorus of tired responses met his words. He wasn't surprised at all when Meadow, despite her own exhaustion, came over to him and practically burrowed herself into his side. The Grass Type Pokemon was as protective as they came after all, and Nolan knew that he was very lucky to have such a fiercely loyal partner at his side. Smiling widely, and glad to be amongst such good company, Nolan curled one arm around her in a side-hug, and Meadow nuzzled him affectionately.
"Night Meadow" he whispered to the creature who had quickly earned a spot in his heart, and who would forever reside there.
"Bulbasaur" Meadow replied, snuggling down into her precious human's warmth and closing her eyes.
Sleep claimed them both in a matter of minutes.
When dawn finally broke over the Kanto region the following morning, and the first of the sun's rays began to filter through the thick canopy of foliage that roofed the Viridian Forest, Nolan Locke was slowly roused from his slumber.
The golden haired boy let out a soft groan as he shielded his eyes from the intrusive sunlight, rubbing a hand over them, and pinching the bridge of his nose as he cleared away the last remnants of sleep. Groaning one more time, Nolan then groggily opened his eyes, as he tried desperately to fire up his brain so that he would be ready to take on whatever fresh challenges that the new day might decide to throw at him.
Yawning one last time, Nolan quickly woke himself up properly, as he reflected on just how good a night's sleep that had been. The golden haired trainer had half-expected to be awake most of the night, thinking that he'd be too on edge about being outside to actually fall asleep, but miraculously that hadn't been the case at all. In fact, the only time he had woken up was when the alarm he had set went off, and he had to get up to put out the fire. He'd been pleased to find Pikachu and Caterpie talking amongst themselves, clearly bonding as friends, before Nolan had got back in his sleeping bag and quickly fell back to sleep. Apart from that, he hadn't had any trouble sleeping at all, and had not arisen again until now. Nolan quickly checked his digital wristwatch. 5:03 am the time read.
Nolan couldn't help but smile in a pleased manner as he took in that information. Whilst most people his age would prefer some extra time in bed, Nolan had always been an early riser, and he was a morning person on top of that, which helped immensely. He was going to need a positive attitude today after all, what with the special plan he had in mind.
A plan that it was time to put into action.
During their hike through the forest yesterday, there had been more than a few times when silence had fallen over the group. Those times weren't uncomfortable by any means though. No, the silences were always companionable. They just meant that each of them had the opportunity to get wrapped up in their own thoughts, and so that's exactly how Nolan had spent those periods throughout the day. Specifically, he had been thinking about how he could help Meadow and Welkin get stronger, and what more he could be doing as a trainer to make it happen.
The answer - a private training session.
Now there was nothing secret about it, and he wasn't hoping to exclude Ash or Misty from it out of malice or nastiness or anything like that. Nolan simply felt that his first proper training session was going to be a really special moment in his life, as it was any new trainer's life, and it was one that should be shared between him and just his Pokemon. At least for the first one. Any after that he was happy to share with his human friends too. So with gentle fingers, he slowly began patting Meadow's bulb, until finally the little Bulbasaur was dragged back to the waking world. With a soft yawn, Meadow slowly opened her eyes, blinking up at Nolan sleepily.
"Saur..." Meadow yawned again, stretching and shaking out her small body as she did. Nolan couldn't help but smile as he watched her slowly begin pulling herself together.
"Good morning Meadow" Nolan greeted her kindly, and finally awake properly now, Meadow warmly smiled up at him, "Did you sleep well?"
"Bulba" Meadow nodded happily. Nolan's smile grew even bigger.
"I'm glad to hear it" the golden haired boy chuckled as he fondly patted her head, earning a happy coo from the small Grass Type Pokemon, "I hope you're well rested though, because we've got a very big day ahead of us".
"Saur?" Meadow tilted her head to one side in curiosity.
"I've got something special in mind for today" Nolan told his partner brightly, "Something that'll just be between me, you and Welkin. How does that sound?"
"Bulba!" Meadow cheered, excited at the idea. Whilst she definitely liked Ash, Misty and Pikachu, and enjoyed their company immensely, the little Bulbasaur couldn't deny that the prospect of spending some quality time with just her teammates was highly appealing too. Grinning at her enthusiasm, Nolan petted her bulb again.
"Great" the blonde haired boy exclaimed, although he was careful to keep his voice down, not wanting to wake the others from their sleep before they needed to be, "Let's get going now then".
"Saur?" Meadow now looked a little confused. Catching the expression on his partner's face, Nolan hastened to explain.
"What I have in mind might end up making quite a bit of noise" he informed his partner, and Meadow's eyes widened in realisation, "So I was thinking that we could head deeper into the forest. That way we won't wake them all up unnecessarily".
Nodding her head to show her understanding, Meadow climbed to her feet and moved back a few paces to allow Nolan room to get out of his sleeping bag. Once the golden haired boy had successfully extracted himself, Nolan shook himself down to ease out the cricks, swung his backpack over his shoulder, before immediately getting right down to business. Gently scooping Meadow up into his arms, Nolan was about to leave the campsite and head off through the trees, when a soft cry from the Pokemon in his embrace stopped the young boy in his tracks.
"What's the matter Meadow?" Nolan looked down at her curiously, "Is there something wrong?"
"Bulba" Meadow nodded, and pointed her paw at something close by. Turning to look, Nolan didn't at first see what Meadow so obviously had. All Nolan saw was Misty, tucked up in her sleeping bag and softly snoring away. Confused, Nolan took a closer look...
Then it clicked.
Blending in remarkably well with the deep green grass and some fallen leaves was none other than Caterpie.
The little Bug Type Pokemon was curled up tightly in a ball, fast asleep as well. Nolan's eyes widened when he noticed just how close to Misty's prone figure Caterpie had somehow ended up at at some point during the night. Presumably he had rolled closer to her in his sleep by accident, and was now much closer than Misty would be comfortable with. At least Nolan now knew that Caterpie was a 'he', as last night, during their time around the campfire, Nolan had urged his best friend to scan the Bug Type Pokemon with his pokedex. After Ash had done so, they'd learnt that Caterpie knew the moves Tackle and String Shot, but more importantly, that the Pokemon was a male.
Regardless, this wasn't a situation that Nolan was prepared to just walk away from. Not after what had happened yesterday.
With that thought in mind, Nolan quickly changed direction, heading over to the spot where Caterpie was sleeping and crouching down beside him. The golden haired boy then gently shook the sleeping Pokemon's body, until the small green creature was finally awake.
"Cat... Cater?" Caterpie whined up tiredly up at Nolan once he looked around and finally realised what was going on. Nolan gave the Bug Type Pokemon an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry to wake you up so early, Caterpie" Nolan apologised sincerely to the little green creature, who let out a small sigh at the human's words, "But look at where you are! You're a lot closer to Misty than you should be. Remember yesterday? You agreed to keep your distance".
Caterpie peered around Nolan, and his large eyes widened in shock when he saw that the best friend of his own trainer was right.
"Cater! Caterpie!" Caterpie hastened to defend himself. Nolan was quick to give the distressed creature a reassuring smile.
"Hey, it's okay little buddy" he said soothingly, reaching out and gently rubbing Caterpie's antenna, earning a happy squeak, "I'm sure it was an accident and you just rolled over in your sleep. There's no harm done".
"Caterpie" Caterpie sighed in relief.
"But I think it would be for the best if you went over to Ash, before you go back to sleep" Nolan continued, and thankfully Caterpie nodded in agreement, "You never know, you might even be able to coax a cuddle out of him".
Caterpie actually gained an air of hope at those last few words. Following Nolan's advice, Caterpie scurried across the clearing until he was right by Ash's side, and gently nuzzled himself against his sleeping trainer's body. Satisfied that the situation had been resolved, Nolan was about to leave again, when he was stopped once more, this time by a chirp from Caterpie.
"Us?" Nolan gestured between himself and Meadow, understanding what Ash's new Pokemon was trying to ask him, "We're going for a little walk and will be back soon. We'll be okay, so you should get some more sleep whilst you can, okay?"
"Caterpie" Caterpie nodded his understanding, settling down and closing his eyes, almost immediately falling back to sleep.
Smiling softly at the adorable sight of Caterpie curled up next to his trainer, Nolan then turned and finally exited the campsite, taking care to make as little noise as possible.
It was time for Meadow's and Welkin's training to finally begin.
It was only when Nolan felt that they were a sufficient enough distance away from the campsite, as not to disturb his tired friends' sleep, did the golden haired boy finally stop walking. He didn't want to wake the whole group up when it wasn't necessary after all, and what he had planned was most definitely not going to be quiet. The trainer's abrupt halt prompted Meadow to do the same since she had taken to walking at his side over being carried a while back, the little Grass Type Pokemon standing protectively close to her human. She wasn't exactly sure what her trainer was up too, taking her deep into the forest so early in the morning, but she figured it must be pretty important if Nolan was willing to keep them both from resting at this early hour. Both the human and Pokemon immediately began scanning their surroundings, their sharp eyes searching for anything that could become a potential threat to their safety.
They were relieved to find no such threat.
The clearing in which they found themselves, albeit still quite dark under the morning sun and rather ominous as a result, was still pleasantly calm and quiet. In fact, the only sounds to be heard were the occasional chirping of a distant Caterpie, and a gentle wind that rustled the leaves and branches of the trees. Nolan nodded to himself in satisfaction, a small smile working its way onto his face.
This would do perfectly for what he had in mind.
Eager to get straight down to business, Nolan wasted no time in plucking Welkin's pokeball off his belt. Grinning, the golden haired boy tossed the red and white sphere into the air.
"Alright! Come on out Welkin!" the young boy couldn't help but cheer, he was so excited about what he had in store for his two beloved Pokemon.
In a burst of scarlet coloured light, the pokeball snapped open, and the light coalesced into the familiar form of Welkin. The Tiny Bird Pokemon looked around at his surroundings for a moment, before finally his sharp eyes landed on Nolan. A large smile immediately eclipsed his feathery face.
"Pidgey!" Welkin cawed in greeting.
"Well good morning to you too Welkin" Nolan said back warmly, running his fingers through the little Flying Type Pokemon's feathers and earning a happy coo, "I hope you're all rested up?"
"Pid!" Welkin nodded happily.
"That's good news" Nolan beamed at his Pokemon, who blinked up at him curiously, "Because as I was just saying to Meadow here, we've all got a big day ahead of us".
Welkin tilted his head to the side, clearly curious as to what Nolan was talking about. The small brown creature was just about to voice said curiosity, when he happened to notice the absence of the others, which changed the focus of his questions entirely.
"Pidgey? Pid, pid, Pidgey?" Welkin chirped, gesturing with his wing around the clearing that they were all in.
Nolan threw him a blank look, a little lost, before turning to face Meadow in the hopes of getting a more accurate translation.
"Bulba, Bulbasaur, Saur, Saur, Bulba" his partner said slowly for her human's benefit. Nolan eventually nodded as realisation set in.
"Oh! You're wondering where Ash and the others are?" Nolan exclaimed as it clicked in his mind.
"Gey" Welkin nodded his head. Nolan smiled as he answered his Pokemon's inquiry.
"Everyone else is at our campsite, which is a short distance away from here" Nolan explained to the small brown creature, who nodded his understanding, "We'll be joining up with them in a little while, but right now I have something a bit special planned, something that's just for the three of us".
Meadow and Welkin both looked very intrigued upon hearing those last few words.
"Saur!" Meadow cheered happily.
"Pidgey!" Welkin was clearly quite excited as well.
Grinning at his two Pokemon's enthusiasm, Nolan decided to waste no more time beating about the bush, wanting to get down to business. Having waited his entire lifetime for this moment, it wasn't exactly surprising that he didn't want to wait any more to get started after all.
"Right then, we'll get straight into it" Nolan clapped his hands together bracingly, "Meadow, Welkin - welcome to your very first training session with me as your trainer!"
For a moment, the declaration was met with nothing more than a stunned silence.
Then...
"BBBUUULLLBBBAAASSSAAAUUURRR!"
"PPPPPIIIIIDDDDDGGGGGEEEEEYYYYY!"
Nolan let out a small grunt as Meadow all but tackled him to the ground, cheering in complete and unadulterated excitement as she lovingly nuzzled his cheek with her own. Welkin also let his joy be known, twittering madly as he flew in circles around Nolan's head, practically hyperactive, he was so thoroughly overexcited. The golden haired trainer couldn't help but laugh loudly at their antics, petting them both affectionately. It was another few moments before they calmed down enough to get off of him.
"Okay, okay - I get it!" Nolan laughed happily, enjoying the alone time with them already, "You're guys are excited. Should I tell you both what I have planned for you guys then?"
The two Pokemon eagerly nodded their heads at him.
Smiling, Nolan prepared to explain everything he had in mind to the two of them. To start with, he fished his pokedex out of the back pocket of his jeans. That was going to come in useful, practically with what he had in mind for Welkin. Then, the golden haired boy proceeded to remove his backpack and set it down on the ground in front of him. Crouching down, Nolan rummaged through it for a few moments, before finally extracting the object he had been searching for. It was the TM09 manual that his father had gifted to him. Nolan handled it with great care, seeing as the booklet was very precious to him. Finally ready to explain, the young Pokemon trainer sat himself down on the forest floor, and gestured for Meadow and Welkin to do the same. It was with great anticipation that they did so.
"Right, now I've given this quite a lot of thought, and I've finally decided on what I think is the best course of action to take in regards to training you two" Nolan began what promised to be a lengthy explanation, but both his Pokemon listened with rapt attention anyway, "The purpose of these training sessions will be a lot of different things. Sometimes we'll be focused on improving one of your traits - for example your speed, or your stamina - and other times we'll practice battling together, so we can polish up your techniques, and work out any difficulties you guys might have".
"Saur" Meadow said softly to show that she was following along.
"Gey" Welkin nodded his understanding as well.
"For the time being however, we're going to be focusing on something else. Something that I think will really help out our team in the long run" Nolan pressed on, and Meadow and Welkin both leaned in closer to him, their interest peaked, "Now as I'm sure you both know, Meadow knows four different moves right now, whilst Welkin knows only three. We need to change that. If we want to be the very best, then you guys are gonna need a lot more moves in your arsenal".
Both Meadow and Welkin nodded at him seriously. What he was saying made plenty of sense to the two of them.
"That's where these are gonna come into it" Nolan continued, holding up both his pokedex and the TM09, "Using these, I'll be able to help you learn a new move each. Since we're only just getting started, the moves are a bit basic, but once we start winning matches and earning money, I'll be able to buy us some more TMs, and teach you guys much more powerful moves. Just wait, before long we'll be a force to be reckoned with, I just know it!"
"Bulba!" Meadow cheered enthusiastically.
"Pidgey!" Welkin cawed hopefully.
"Anyway, you'll each be learning a different move in our first couple of training sessions" Nolan pressed on, and both the Pokemon calmed themselves in order to resume listening, "Once you guys have mastered them, and can consistently perform them on command, then we'll look about moving on to learning something else. Sound good?"
"Saur! Bulba!" Meadow happily nodded her head once again.
"Gey! Pidgey!" Welkin voiced his approval too.
"Brilliant! I'm glad to see that you guys on on board with me on this" Nolan beamed down at his two Pokemon friends, who smiled back up at him warmly, "Let's get started then. We'll begin with you Welkin. The move that you're going to be learning is called Quick Attack. It's a very useful move because, in theory at least, it should allow you to strike an opponent first, with is good for obvious reasons".
Welkin nodded his understanding, ruffling his feathers importantly.
"Now I've done some reading in the pokedex, and it says that to start out with, the best thing we can do is to begin improving your speed" Nolan explained to his little Flying Type Pokemon, "You'll need to be very fast to use Quick Attack after all".
"Pid?" Welkin tilted his head to the side in a confused manner.
"How do we improve your speed?" Nolan asked to clarify, and when Welkin nodded, the blonde haired boy smiled as he answered, "Well, the pokedex recommends having you perform the Bleep Test. Now I've actually heard of this before. Basically the Bleep Test is an exercise where you have to run, or in your case fly, back and forth between two points that are twenty meters apart, keeping in time with a series of bleeps, which I can play to you using my wristwatch".
"Pidgey" Pidgey nodded to show that he was following along.
"As the test goes on, the bleeps will get closer together, meaning that you'll have to fly faster to get to the next marker in time" Nolan continued his explanation, "According to the pokedex, it'll be a good way of tracking your speed, and the more times you do it, the faster you'll eventually become".
"Pidgey!" Welkin cheered determinedly.
He'd master that Quick Attack move if he had to fly all day and night. Nolan had set him a goal and Welkin was going to see it through. He wanted to prove that he had what it took to be the strongest, maybe even evolve if he could, and what better starting point was there. Welkin could pull this off for Nolan. He just had too. Letting his kindhearted trainer down simply wasn't an opinion.
Pleased that Welkin was riled up and eager to get moving, Nolan gently patted him on the head, earning a pleased coo of affection from the small creature. Happy that Welkin had taken everything that he'd said on board, Nolan turned back to the matter at hand. It was Meadow's turn now after all.
"Let's move on to you now Meadow" he addressed his partner, who nodded up at him seriously, "We're going to be using the TM that my dad gave me especially for you".
Meadow nodded, remembering the gift that Nolan's father had given her human when they'd last seen the man face-to-face.
"It's used by trainers tutoring their Pokemon in how to use the move Bullet Seed" Nolan explained, and Meadow listened with rapt attention, "According to the booklet, it's an ideal move for a Grass Type Pokemon to learn, especially when they're young since it isn't too difficult to master".
"Bulba!" Meadow hoped that meant that she'd get the hang of using Bullet Seed soon. If Nolan thought it was a good idea for her to know that move, then Meadow would do everything in her power to master it soon. That's what a good partner did after all.
"Now I've only flipped through the manual briefly, so I'm gonna have to read it more carefully" Nolan warned her before continuing, "But I totally think you'll get the hang of it before long. From what I've read, you already have a bit of an advantage Meadow".
"Saur?" Meadow questioned him curiously.
"You see, the TM booklet warns trainers that the most difficult part of mastering this move, is the fact that the Pokemon using it has to learn how to produce the seeds for it within their own body" Nolan explained patiently to his beloved partner, "Apparently a lot of species of Grass Type Pokemon really struggle with that part. You on the other hand can already do that though, seeing as you already know the move Leech Seed".
Meadow nodded slowly, able to see the boy's logic.
"The tricky part for you is going to come from producing dozens of seeds all at the same time" Nolan continued, wanting to make sure that she knew that just because she had a slight advantage, didn't mean that learning Bullet Seed would be a walk in the park, "That and using them as projectiles, rather than using them to absorb energy out of your opponents. It's gonna take some hard work, but we'll get there, I'm sure of it!"
"Bulbasaur!" Meadow cheered, proud of the fact that Nolan had such overwhelming confidence in their little team.
"Pidgey!" Welkin cawed out loudly, choosing to believe in the three of them as well.
"Oh, I'm so glad that you guys are so enthusiastic about this" Nolan showered his two beloved Pokemon with some well-earned praise, "I was a bit worried that you guys wouldn't like the idea, and that I'd have to drag you through this kicking and screaming. I must be the luckiest trainer in the whole world, having two such brilliant Pokemon on my team!"
"Bulba" Meadow blushed at the wonderful compliment he'd just paid them.
"Gey" Welkin puffed his chest out proudly.
Taking a moment just to appreciate them, Nolan reached out and gently petted them both, earning a happy coo from the two of them, as Meadow and Welkin nuzzled his hands affectionately. The truth was, they both knew that they were lucky as well. Lucky to have each found a trainer that loved them the way that Nolan did.
After several more seconds, the tender moment between the three of them finally ended, and they all moved apart. Nolan climbed back to his feet, whilst Meadow stood loyally at his side. Welkin took off into the air, hovering close to his trainer's shoulder. A silent promise was made as the three of them all shared a look of the utmost determination.
Let the training begin...
And that's another chapter down : )
So this one was a little more light-hearted after all the tension in the last chapter. Honestly, I've had this chapter roughly planned out in my mind since before I even started this story : ) I probably won't do a scene like this every time I have a member of the team learn a new move, but I wanted to show at least the first one, detailing Nolan's methods when it comes to teaching his Pokemon : )
Anyway, let's move on to the results of the last voting topic. As you might recall, I asked you guys to vote between Meowth, Haunter and Doduo. Well, the result was a tie between Meowth and Doduo. I was absolutely gobsmacked when this turned out to be the result. I honestly thought that Haunter would be a dead cert : ) That's the fun of doing a Nuzlocke this way though. You guys are giving me a whole bunch of Pokemon that I wouldn't normally use, so it's a lot of fun : ) But enough about that - please leave a review for this chapter voting between Meowth and Doduo in order to help break the tie : )
Finally, I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, and thank you for reading my story : )
Until the next time, keep on reading : )
