Hey readers : )
Here we are with the second part of my first original episode for this story : ) Hopefully you all enjoyed the first part and are eager to see where I'm going with this : ) I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the ending of this episode already, since I know where it's heading ; )
Anyway, I don't really have much to say this week, so let's move on to the winner of last week's voting topic. I'm very happy to say that the winner of the latest evolution vote was... Jigglypuff! Truthfully, I really wasn't expecting that, but Wigglytuff can be a very good Pokemon if you give it a variety of move types, so I'm looking forward to Nolan getting one later on in the story : )
Beyond that, I'd just like to say an ENORMOUS thank you to everyone that has reviewed, favourited and followed this story. I really appreciate all the support that has been shown to this story, so thank you all so much : )
Finally, please remember that Pokemon is not mine, only my OCs are.
I hope you enjoy this chapter : )
Operation Iris - Part 2
Nolan had no idea what type of situation that he and his friends might be rushing into, but to be perfectly honest, right now he simply couldn't care less. All he wanted was to be reunited with Meadow. He wasn't by nature an insecure person, but he had only been with Meadow for a relatively short time, and despite his maturity, he was still only ten years old. Irrational fears were bound to rear their ugly heads from time to time. And it was irrational, because deep down Nolan knew that Meadow absolutely adored him. There was no way that she would ever just randomly decide to run away from him. Run to something, definitely, but never away from him. Even so, in that moment it was still very important to the young trainer to gauge his partner's reaction once he finally caught up to her. He just hoped that he was right and that it would be a positive one.
The alternative simply didn't bare thinking about.
Pushing those rather harrowing thoughts away for the moment however, Nolan decided to just take this one step at a time. There was no point in leaping to conclusions and generally just upsetting himself when he wasn't even sure if there was even a legitimate reason to upset just yet. It was extremely hard for the golden haired boy to do, but he managed to shut the nasty little voice in the back of his head out, at least enough to focus on where he was going.
With the muscles in his legs beginning to protest from the sudden increase in speed, Nolan continued on his way, smashing his way through the undergrowth with his two human friends just a couple of steps behind him. He got a couple of scratches from a large bramble bush, but the golden haired boy was so focused on his task that he didn't even notice. Finally, he put on an extra burst of speed, breaking ahead of Ash and Misty as he jumped over a toppled tree trunk, and found himself emerging into a new clearing.
And standing right there in the middle of it, were none other than Meadow and Pikachu.
Nolan couldn't help but sigh deeply in relief when he saw that not only was she completely unharmed, but that she also didn't have an angry expression on her face. If anything, the little Grass Type Pokemon looked more... puzzled than anything. Her crimson coloured eyes were sweeping over the forest clearing as if searching for something, and her ears kept twitching, as if hearing something that Nolan couldn't. At her side, Pikachu was behaving in much the same manner. The golden haired boy didn't take any time to ponder the peculiarities of that though. Right now he just wanted to reunite with his beloved partner.
"Meadow!" he exclaimed as he stepped out of the bushes and into the clearing, immediately hurrying over to her side, "Thank goodness you're okay!"
The little Grass Type Pokemon turned to look up at him, and subconsciously, Nolan waited with baited breath. And then, just like that, all of his fears were put to rest.
Meadow beamed at him.
"Saur! Bulba!" the little Grass Type Pokemon happily greeted her human partner.
Nolan honestly thought that his legs were going to give out from beneath him, he felt so weak-kneed with relief. Unable to help but grin back at her, Nolan immediately scooped his beloved partner up into his arms, and gave her a very tight hug. Meadow affectionately nuzzled her cheek against his in response.
"But why did you take off like that?" Nolan couldn't help but ask as his relieved smile slowly began morphing into a frown, "I was really worried Meadow!"
Meadow's smile also began to fade slightly when he said those words.
"Bulbasaur" she apologised earnestly.
Nolan could tell that she meant it, and genuinely felt bad for any distress that she had caused him. It was for that reason why Nolan decided to keep the rest of his concerns to himself, at least for the moment. He didn't want to cause any unnecessary drama if it could be avoided after all. The golden haired boy was just about to inquire about what had prompted her to run off in the first place, but before he had the chance too, Ash and Misty finally caught up to him and noisily emerged into the clearing.
"Pikachu!" Ash gasped in relief.
Hearing his name, the small yellow Pokemon turned, and smiled happily up at his own human partner.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu cheered, running over towards Ash and leaping up onto his shoulder, thus also eradicating any doubts lingering in Ash's mind as to whether or not his own partner was upset with him.
"We were worried about you guys" Misty informed her raven haired friend's Electric Type partner, reaching out and gently scratching under his chin.
"Chaaa" Pikachu purred happily at the attention he was receiving.
"Why did you guys take off like that?" Ash asked curiously and a little upset.
"Yes, I'd like to know that too" Nolan remarked, glancing down at his own beloved partner Pokemon, who had a somewhat guilty expression on her face. The golden haired boy hugged her a little tighter to show that he wasn't angry, just confused by her actions.
"Saur, Bulba" Meadow said, twitching her ears slightly, a motion that Nolan caught.
"You heard something out here?" he asked, arching an inquisitive eyebrow at her, "Something that you thought we needed to check out?"
"Bulbasaur" Meadow nodded her head in confirmation.
That nod put any remainders of any doubts to bed in Nolan's mind, and he smiled slightly. It already felt like a great weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Nobody else noticed his reaction however, since Ash and Misty were both looking between Meadow and Pikachu in turn, surprise etched into their faces.
"Wow, that's some good hearing" Ash remarked, sounding mildly impressed, prompting Pikachu to smirk a little smugly at him.
"Yeah, but I wonder what it was that you guys heard" Misty thoughtfully mused aloud, her vermillion coloured eyes sweeping over the forest clearing that they were standing in, a hint of confusion on her face, "There's nothing out of place here, and I can't hear anything odd. Can you guys still hear it?"
Silence reined for a moment as Pikachu and Meadow both stilled, both of them straining to hear the soft sound that had attracted them to this spot in the first place. Then suddenly, Pikachu's ears perked up.
"Pika! Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered, making the others all jump in surprise as the quiet was instantly shattered.
Ignoring his startled friends, Pikachu immediately leapt down from Ash's shoulder, landed gracefully on his feet on the forest floor, before he bounded across the clearing. The small yellow creature skidded to a stop by some bushes, and sniffed the air around them. He glanced back across the clearing at his friends over his shoulder, and smiled broadly.
"Pika" he cried triumphantly, pointing with his tiny paw into the bushes.
Itching to know what all of this was about; Nolan, Ash and Misty all hurried across the clearing to join Pikachu. Meadow hopped out of her trainer's arms and landed on the ground next to Pikachu. Since she wasn't exactly sure what the strange noise was that she'd heard, she had her vines at the ready, just in case they were needed to protect her trainer. As for said trainer, Nolan was currently pushing aside some branches carefully to get a better look. He also had a hand resting on Welkin's pokeball, just in case of a wild Pokemon that decided to attack. With no small amount of trepidation, Nolan, Ash and Misty all peered into the bush.
Whatever it was that they'd been expecting, it most definitely was not what they saw.
There, bold as brass, for all the world to see... was a person. A human being. A human being in a bush. But that wasn't what was so bizarre about the whole situation, odd though it may be. No, what was downright weird about this display was the fact that the person, who was a man that looked to be in his late twenties or early thirties, was dressed in the uniform of a police officer, and was completely out cold. His chest was slowly rising and falling, meaning that he was asleep and thankfully not something much more serious, but he was so totally out of it that he was actually snoring, which was probably what had caught the attention of Meadow and Pikachu in the first place.
Needless to say; Nolan, Ash and Misty could do little more than stand there with their jaws dropped in sheer disbelief.
"Oh my gosh!" Misty was the first of the stunned children that managed to find her voice again, "What... what on Earth...?"
Nolan couldn't blame her for hardly being able to string a coherent sentence together. It wasn't every day that you encountered a situation like this after all.
"Is he... you know?" Ash asked quietly, looking downright uncomfortable as they all stared down at the man laid out on the ground.
"No" Nolan immediately shook his head, catching his best friend's fears and wanting to assure him, "No, he's still breathing".
"Plus, I don't think dead men snore Ash" Misty reminded him, much more bluntly than Nolan had attempted to be.
"Oh yeah" Ash rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"He doesn't look too good though" Nolan couldn't help but remark as his eyes roamed up and down the man's body, searching for any potential injuries.
It was all very odd. Whilst the unconscious man didn't seem to have any physical injuries, he still looked to be in dreadful shape. A bright sheen of sweat was noticeable on his face, and his sandy brown hair looked to be damp from it as well. He also seemed to be shivering like he was cold, despite it being quite a mild day today. The skin that was exposed had taken on a funny greenish grey colour, and if he was awake, Nolan would bet good money that the police officer would feel ill to the point that he'd be vomiting. But not even any of those aspects were the strangest part of what Nolan and the others had stumbled across.
No. The strangest part of all, was the fact that the sleeping man had a purple flower of all things clasped in his prone hand.
In the distance reaches of his mind, Nolan vaguely recognised the plant as an Iris, having seen them before at the Xanadu Nursery, which his father had taken him to visit several times when he was younger. This Iris was a striking violet colour, and was very beautiful. The golden haired boy could only wonder at its significance though. He quickly pushed those thoughts aside for the time being however. Checking that the man was okay had to be the priority right now.
"Err... hello?" the blonde boy cautiously stepped into the bush, slowly edging closer to the unconscious police officer, "Are you okay? Hello?"
"He's really out of it" Ash noted aloud as he and Misty, with Pikachu and Meadow trailing after them, joined Nolan by the prone man's side, "Should we really wake him up though? He might get mad, especially if he's just taking a nap".
At his side, Misty couldn't help but scoff slightly at the suggestion.
"What, in the middle of a bush? In broad daylight, in a forest, in the middle of the day?" the orange haired girl quickly shook her head, finding even the idea of it to be utterly ridiculous, "Funny time and place for a nap".
Ash had a rather sour expression on his face as he registered the sarcasm.
"Well why else would he was out here in the middle of nowhere and fast asleep?" Ash retorted a little defensively, "Maybe he's traveling through the forest just like we are!"
"But surely he'd have a sleeping bag if that was the case. Besides, look at his uniform!" Misty exasperatedly replied, gesturing at the outfit that the man was wearing, "Why would a police officer who's clearly meant to be on duty right now, be sleeping in a forest? It just doesn't make sense!"
Ash opened his mouth to retort, but Nolan, who was rapidly growing weary of the debate going on behind him, quickly intervened before either one of his friends could voice their opinion any further.
"Well, there's only one person with the answers" the golden haired boy reasoned, and without waiting for a response from his friends, Nolan crouched down beside the unconscious man and gently began shaking him, "Hello? Are you okay Sir? Can you wake up please?"
The police officer let out a muffled grunt in his sleep, but did not stir beyond that.
Behind Nolan, Ash shook his head slightly. The raven haired boy felt that his best friend was being a little too delicate in how he was approaching this. Needless to say, Ash quickly made the decision to take matters into his own hands.
"HEY!" he bellowed at the top of his lungs, so loudly that it was a wonder they didn't hear him all the way back in Pallet Town, "WAKE UP!"
The police officer didn't so much as twitch.
"Okay, there's no way that anyone could sleep through that naturally" Misty said in bewilderment, a concerned expression lining her face, "Something isn't right about this".
"I agree" Nolan nodded distractedly, still trying to shake the sleeping man awake but to no avail, "This isn't normal. But what could have done this to him?"
Neither Ash nor Misty had any answer to offer him, not that they would have had the opportunity to do so even if they did, for at that exact moment and without even kind of warning whatsoever, something happened that caused all three of the young Pokemon Trainers to almost jump right out of their skins.
"Officer Zero-Four-Eight from Control, come in please" a female voice suddenly spoke out, her voice echoing around the forest clearing and spooking Nolan and his friends for a moment, "Repeat, Officer Zero-Four-Eight from Control, come in please".
"What the...?!" a startled Ash cried out in alarm, "W-who's there?!"
The surprised group of children and their beloved Pokemon all began glancing around the clearing in bewilderment, searching for the owner of the mysterious voice. It was Misty that figured out what was going on first when the voice called out again, and when that realisation struck her, she gently nudged her friends' arms, and gestured towards something attached to the police officer's uniform.
"It's his radio" she announced, pointing out the small black device attached to the man's police vest, close to his left shoulder.
"Officer Zero-Four-Eight from Control, come in please" the female voice requested again; and Nolan, Ash and Misty all glanced at each other, unsure about what to do, "Repeat, Officer Zero-Four-Eight from Control, come in please".
Shrugging, Nolan carefully reached across and unclipped the radio from the man's protective vest. He turned the small gadget over in his hands a couple of times, before he found a grey button. Nolan pushed it, and was slightly surprised when the radio crackled with static. Keeping his finger on the button, the golden haired boy hesitantly brought the radio up to his lips.
"Err... hello? Is this thing working?" he asked into the radio whilst the others all watched on intently, "Can you hear me? Hello?"
He took his finger off the button, and waited to see if anything happened. There was a tense moment of silence, before the radio suddenly crackled into life again.
"Who is this?" the woman's voice demanded to know, sounding highly confused and concerned, "And how did you come to be in possession of a police issue radio? Where is Officer Zero-Four-Eight?"
"My name is Nolan Locke, Ma'am" Nolan replied nervously, slightly intimidated by the woman's sharp tone, "I'm a Pokemon Trainer, and me and my friends are currently passing through the Viridian Forest. We just found this police officer unconscious in a bush. We were checking that he's okay before you started using the radio".
There was a long pause on the other end of the connection as the woman was clearly trying to process what Nolan had just told her.
"Nolan, this is very important" the radio control operative finally replied, and now her tone was even more serious than before, "I need you to check if the officer has any physical injuries, check his pulse, and find out if his breathing is stable. Can you do that for me?"
"Sure" Nolan said, his icy blue eyes once again sweeping up and down the man's body in scrutiny, whilst at his side, Misty carefully placed her fingers on the man's wrist. A moment later she nodded in relief, having located a strong, steady pulse. Nolan quickly reported back into the radio.
"He doesn't have any injuries that I can see, and my friend managed to locate a pulse" Nolan informed the radio control operative.
"It's strong and steady Ma'am" Misty added, leaning across to speak into the radio as well.
"Good" the woman sounded relieved, "And his breathing?"
At the same moment, the unconscious man coincidentally grunted in his sleep again.
"I don't think he's having any trouble breathing Ma'am, in fact he's actually snoring" Nolan reported into the radio, "I think he's just in a very deep sleep. We tried to wake him up when we first found him, but couldn't bring him out of it. The thing is, he looks kinda sick, all green and sweaty".
There was another long pause as the radio control operative digested the information that they had provided.
"Okay Nolan, I understand. Now this might sound like a strange instruction, but I need you to do it anyway" the woman finally replied, and Nolan and his friends shared a surprised glance, wondering what she was about to tell them to do, "I want you to very carefully lift the officer's head and slowly turn it to the side, without doing anything that might hurt him. I need you to take a look at the right-hand side of his neck for me".
Utterly bewildered, but unwilling to argue with an adult that worked in law enforcement, a bemused Nolan complied with the order.
Setting the radio down on the man's broad chest, Nolan gently placed his heads on either side of the sleeping man's head, and carefully tipped it to the side, exposing the bare flesh of his neck. Nolan's icy blue eyes immediately began scanning the area of skin, exactly as he'd been instructed to do.
"Is there anything there Nolan?" the woman's voice asked through the radio.
"Err... I don't see anything..." Nolan trailed off uncertainly after picking up the radio again, "Just... no, wait! I think I've found something!"
He had.
For on the unconscious police officer's neck was the first and only sign that they'd found so far to indicate what might actually be wrong with the man. It was tiny, barely even visible to the naked eye, but Nolan spotted it - a tiny little lump that was a faint greenish colour. And in said lump was what looked like a miniscule mark that appeared to be... well, it appeared to be, a puncture. A small trickle of blood was oozing out of it, and it gave off an unpleasant odor.
"He's got a sort of mark on his neck" the golden haired boy exclaimed into the radio, wondering how the woman knew to tell him to look there, "Like after you get an injection, but a sort of green colour".
There was a split-second pause, before...
"Damn it!" the radio control operative burst out loudly, making the three young trainers jump, before she was immediately back on the radio connection, "I'm very sorry children, that was highly unprofessional of me. It's just... oh never mind. Now listen to me Nolan, this is very important. There are five other police officers scattered around the same area of the forest as you. I need you to find a way of sending them some kind of signal. You said that you and your friends are all Pokemon trainers?"
"That's right Ma'am" Nolan confirmed for her.
"Excellent" the woman sounded pleased, "Now, do any of you have a Pokemon that is capable of launching an attack high up into the air? Particularly an attack that is very bright?"
The three youngsters barely even glanced at each other before the answer presented itself to them.
"Pikachu!" Nolan, Ash and Misty all exclaimed in unison.
"Pika?" the small yellow creature twitched one of his ears and looked up at the three humans curiously.
"Yeah!" Ash said, leaning over to Nolan and speaking into the radio, "My Pikachu can do it Ma'am. He can send one of his electric attacks up into the air!"
"Perfect!" again, the woman sounded quite pleased, "Right, now I just need you to hold on for a moment whilst I radio all the other officers in your area. I won't be a moment..."
The connection dropped out.
Nolan took a moment to study the unconscious police officer's face. He wasn't sure what it was about his flushed cheeks and sweaty brow, but Nolan got the distinct impression that this wasn't a natural illness, that something had done this to him. Whether an intentional act or not, there was no way of knowing, but to just walk off and leave the poor man here in this condition, now that was just plain cold. Then there was the deep purple Iris flower that was still clutched in the man's limp hand. Nolan had no idea what that could be about, but unfortunately for the golden haired trainer, he wouldn't have much time to ponder it. For at that exact moment, the radio suddenly crackled into life again.
"Okay children, I've alerted all five of the other police officers we have stationed in the area close to your location, and they're all looking for your signal" the woman informed them, and at her words, Ash silently signalled for Pikachu to move away from them. The little yellow Pokemon happily trotted off into the centre of the clearing, a good few feet away from the humans and Meadow, "Please have your Pikachu unleash it's attack now".
"Okay Pikachu!" Ash cheered his beloved partner Pokemon on, "Use your Thunder Shock attack now! Get it as high in the air as you can!"
Pikachu nodded his little head eagerly, before immediately jumping into action.
"Pika...CHU!"
Nolan, Ash, Misty and Meadow were all forced to shield their eyes and avert their gazes as Pikachu let loose his powerful Thunder Shock attack. The small yellow Pokemon become aglow with electrical energy, which he quickly directed straight up into the air. The sky bound lightning flashed brightly, flaring outwards in all directions, before it eventually flickered and faded away.
"How was that?" Nolan asked into the radio after waiting for a few moments, "Did any of them see it?"
Again, there was another long pause before the radio control operative's voice finally responded.
"Yes!" the woman suddenly exclaimed, and Nolan, Ash and Misty all smiled at each other, relieved that they wouldn't be on their own in this bizarre situation that they had stumbled across for much longer, "The officer leading the operation that is going on in the area is very close to your location. She estimates that she's about five minutes away from you at most. She should be with you shortly, but has asked that you keep having your Pikachu use its electric attacks to make it easier to find you".
"You heard her Pikachu!" Ash called out to his partner, who smirked and nodded.
"Pika... CHU! ...CHU! ... CHU!"
One after the other, Pikachu kept on firing intense blasts of electricity up into the sky. It was obvious after a minute or so that the small yellow creature was beginning to tire, but Pikachu kept on going regardless of that. Nolan was honestly impressed by his output, and was surprised by how bright the lightning flashes were, considering that it was daytime. It surely wouldn't be long now until help arrived, not with the sky lighting up like a Christmas tree around them thanks to Pikachu's efforts.
Moments later, Nolan was proved right.
Just seconds after another blast of electricity was sent up into the air by Pikachu did some of the bushes behind Nolan and the others start rustling quite loudly. They all turned their attention away from the comatose man in front of them and glanced over their shoulders, just in time to see a familiar woman in a dark blue police uniform step out of the bushes. She was brushing some stray leaves off her shoulders when she finally noticed them. She flashed the children a reassuring smile, but didn't say anything to them, instead reaching up to the radio that was strapped to her own uniform and talking into it.
"I've got them" the police woman said to the radio control operative through the device, sounding genuinely quite relieved, "I'll take care of things from here".
"Yes Ma'am" the radio control operative replied, before the line crackled and cut out. The police woman then turned her attention to the young trainers that had found her missing colleague...
And was instantly met with several highly confused expressions.
"Officer Jenny!" Ash greeted her warmly, oblivious to the surprised expression that appeared on the woman's face at the reception, "It's nice to see you again! What're you doing all the way out here in the forest?"
Officer Jenny's face went blank.
"Err... I'm very sorry young man, but have we met before?" the woman asked in a puzzled tone. The warm smile slowly faded from Ash's face at the question.
"It's us Officer Jenny" the raven haired boy was very confused as to how she couldn't remember them when it had only been a couple of days since they'd last met, "Ash, Nolan and Misty - you helped me and Nolan out by giving us a ride to the Pokemon Centre when our Pokemon were hurt".
The woman's face was still totally blank.
It was Nolan that put the pieces together first, having read numerous newspaper articles about the achievements of the various Officer Jennys from around the world. Articles that explained how they were all a family wherein the genetically related woman were all startling identical, plus they had all chosen to become dedicated police officers, serving and protecting the different regions. Remembering that fact, the answer immediately made itself clear.
"Ash, I don't think that this is the same Officer Jenny that helped us out" the golden haired boy informed him.
Misty finally seemed to have twigged as well upon hearing those words, but Ash just gave his best friend a look that spoke of his utter bewilderment.
"What are you talking about Nolan? Of course it's her" Ash gaped at Nolan incredulously, wondering if everyone around him was losing their minds or something. He was about to try jogging Nolan's memory too, when the other part of his best friend's words struck him, leaving him even more confused, "Wait... what do you mean - 'the same Officer Jenny' - that kind of implies that there's more than one".
Ash snorted at his own little joke.
Then he found himself on the receiving end of three totally serious looks. Three looks that had him feeling like he was missing something big time.
"What?" the raven haired boy asked, completely nonplussed.
Instead of answering the boy right away, Officer Jenny smiled as she too realised where all this confusion was stemming from. It really shouldn't have taken her so long to catch on though. After all, this was hardly the first time that a situation like this had cropped up where her relatives was concerned.
"Ah, I see what's going on now" the police woman mused aloud, looking amused, "Tell me young man, where is it that you think you met me?"
Ash could do little more than up at her with wide eyes, totally perplexed.
"Viridian City" the raven haired boy answered, not sure what that had to do with anything. He was about to find out that it actually had everything to do with it.
"Ah, I see" Officer Jenny nodded to herself, a fond smile beginning to play across her face, "I'm afraid that the Officer Jenny you met there wasn't me, but in fact one of my younger sisters. I'm the Officer Jenny from Pewter City".
Ash gaped up at her in sheer disbelief.
"Your sister?!" he exclaimed in an incredulous tone of voice, "But... but you look and sound exactly like her!"
Chuckling at the boy's stunned reaction, Officer Jenny decided it would be easier to just show him rather than trying to explain it all. She began rummaging around in the pockets of her uniform, eventually drawing out a small black wallet. She flipped it open, and held it out for all the children to see.
Whilst Nolan and Misty didn't look too shocked by what they saw, Ash's jaw dropped wide open in sheer disbelief.
What Officer Jenny was showing them was a photograph. A photograph, presumably of herself, surrounded by dozens of other Officer Jennys. They were all perfectly identical, right down to the signature blue police uniform.
"Woah! There's a whole bunch of Officer Jennys?!" Ash yelped in surprise.
"Talk about family resemblance" Misty mused aloud in an impressed tone.
"Yes" Officer Jenny laughed, quite enjoying their reactions, "We all look the same, we all sound the same, and we're all police officers. Add in the fact that we're all called Jenny, and it isn't hard to understand why people get us mixed up all the time".
"I bet it gets confusing at family gatherings too" Nolan remarked as she put the photograph away again. Officer Jenny couldn't help but smirk in amusement.
"Trust me, it does" she smiled, but it quickly faded into a much more serious expression as she decided it was time to get down to business, "But enough about that for now. I need to check on my officer".
And with that, she quickly swept past the three youngsters and their Pokemon, and crouched down next to the unconscious police officer. Nolan, Ash and Misty all quickly joined her, watching on quietly as Officer Jenny got a closer look at the man's neck. A soft sigh passed the woman's lips as she located the small strange mark there.
"And you kids just found him here like this?" Officer Jenny asked, glancing back up at the three children for a brief moment.
The three of them all nodded.
"You didn't see what happened beforehand?" she pressed them, "You didn't see what did this to him? Or perhaps someone running away?"
"No" Nolan replied with a shake of his head, "Our Pokemon heard him snoring and ran off to find him, so we followed them and that's when we found him. Why? Do you think that something attacked him?"
"Oh yes" the police officer nodded her head darkly, a concerned frown playing across her face as she looked down at the ill man lying on the forest floor, "In fact, I know something did. That's why we were out here in the forest in the first place".
"What do you mean Officer Jenny?" Misty asked, sounding worried.
The police woman looked very grim as she answered the young girl's question.
"I know that something purposely did this to my officer..." she explained in a hard tone, "Because this isn't the first time that it's happened".
The three young Pokemon Trainers all glanced at each other in concern, but quickly turned their attention back to Officer Jenny when she started talking again.
"Something in this forest has attacked dozens of people and Pokemon!"
And there's Part Two done : )
I really hope that this chapter has started to build up an air of mystery, especially with that little cliff-hanger note that we've ended this week on : )
Anyway, I'm honestly wiped out right now - I think I might be coming down with something - so I'm not going to reflect too much on this week's chapter. So instead, let's move on to today's voting topic, and I'm actually both excited and a little sad to say that this vote will mark the end of the wild Pokemon votes we get to decide for the Indigo League arc of this story : ) We still have another new Pokemon to add later, but that's a Gift Pokemon, so this'll be the last of the Pokemon that I caught specifically. It's actually kind of bittersweet because it means that my Nuzlocke is almost over. Anyway, here are the options : )
Pokemon Options: -
Cape Brink - Jynx - Female - Mild Nature - Oblivious Ability
Berry Forest - Exeggcute - Male - Hasty Nature - Chlorophyll Ability
Victory Road - Onix - Female - Brave Nature - Sturdy Ability
Now I know what you guys are probably thinking. Since when can you catch Jynx at Cape Brink in Pokemon Fire Red? Well, you can't, but since I had already caught every other Pokemon available in that area, I decided to invoke the Duplicate Clause. I captured myself a Poliwhirl at Cape Brink, and traded it for a Jynx from the old man in Cerulean City. I figured I should take advantage of that fact, and give you guys a new option, rather then just catching something I already had and putting it to the vote again : )
So I think that's just about everything for this week. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter, and thank you for reading. Please also consider leaving a review as I'd love to hear your thoughts and your suggestions : )
Until the next time, keep on reading : )
