Hey readers : ) Here we are with the next chapter : )

We're just going to jump straight into it since I haven't really got anything to say this week, so let's move on to the winner of last week's voting topic. I'm excited to say that the winner of the latest new team member vote was... Jynx! I'm super excited about this one since Jynx is such a cool Pokemon that I don't think gets enough credit. I also think that she'll be a really interesting character to create since I hardly ever see Jynx appear in fanfiction, so it'll be a lot of fun writing one into Nolan's team in this story : )

Beyond that, I'd just like to say an HUGE thank you to everyone that has reviewed, favourited and followed this story. I appreciate all the support that has been shown to this story, so thank you all so much : )

Finally, please remember that Pokemon is not mine, only my OCs are.

I hope you enjoy this chapter : )

Operation Iris - Part 3

Nolan couldn't help but flinch as he felt a wave of pure and unadulterated dread wash over his entire being as he let Officer Jenny's ominous words sink in. It took the golden haired boy a couple of moments to really process what she had said and what that actually meant, but when he did, Nolan's icy blue eyes drifted back down to the unconscious police officer sprawled out on his back, a look of abject horror in them. So this poor man wasn't the first person that this had happened, and if what the police woman had said was accurate, then it was unlikely that he would be the last to befall this horrible fate. Nolan couldn't help but shiver as he thought about how easily it could have been him, Meadow, or one of his friends lying there in that sorry state. All of which brought several excellent questions to Nolan's mind, questions he had no qualms about putting to Officer Jenny.

"So this has happened before? But who's doing it?" the golden haired boy wanted to know, an edge of fear creeping into his tone, "How are they doing it? And more importantly, why are they doing it?"

Officer Jenny looked over at him, a frown beginning to form across her face.

"All excellent questions, but sadly I'm only able to answer two of them" the blue hair woman looked regretful over that particular detail, "You see, this all started..."

Unfortunately, whatever explanation Officer Jenny was about to give to the group of curious young Pokemon trainers, it was suddenly cut off when, without any kind of warning whatsoever, four new arrivals suddenly burst into the clearing.

Nolan's hand immediately ghosted across the smooth surface of the pokeball holding Welkin on pure instinct, fearing that it might be an attack, possibly even from whatever it was that was responsible for all this trouble they had find themselves wrapped up in. The golden haired boy quickly relaxed however upon noticing that all four of the newcomers were human, and were all wearing police uniforms. Add in the fact that Officer Jenny stood up and smiled in greeting at them, and the boy was quickly put at ease.

Relaxing slightly, Nolan then took a moment to look each of the other police officers over in turn.

The first member of the newcomers was a male officer, and he appeared to be a little bit younger than the one currently knocked out on the forest floor, maybe twenty-four. He was handsome, with wavy black hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He looked to be quite muscular as well.

Next to him was a young woman with a kind face, and long platinum blonde hair that had been pulled into a professional bun that poked out from beneath the base of her police cap. Her Hazel coloured eyes flickered over to Nolan and his friends for a moment, before they focused back on her senior commander.

Third in the lineup of police officers was a man that was clearly the eldest of the young, with many wrinkles around his eyes and the corners of his mouth, which seemed to be set in a perpetual frown. His silver hair was thinning, and he was more portly than the others, an indication that his prime was well and truly behind him.

And finally there was another female officer, and she appeared to be the youngest of the group. She had emerald green eyes, and cute freckles peppered across her face. Her hair, which was a lovely shade of red, hung in braced pigtails about her shoulders. She was also very petite, barely even taller than Nolan, despite being an adult.

The four officers all glanced at Nolan, Ash and Misty for a brief moment, no doubt curious about their presence there, and even a hint of suspicion in the elder grumpy man's case, but they all turned there attention back to Officer Jenny the second that she started speaking.

"Ah, good" the blue haired woman said in a pleased sounding tone, "I see that you were all able to follow the signal".

"Yes Ma'am" all four of the officers chorus back at her.

"And I trust that none of you ran into any issues?" the commanding officer inquired, "Nor have any of you discovered anything more about the perpetrator in these attacks?"

"No Ma'am" this time each of the officers seemed more subdued and dejected.

Officer Jenny opened her mouth to say more, probably to ask more questions in regards to how their investigation was coming along, but she never got the chance to. For at that moment, following some encouraging looks from the other officers, the petite red haired officer shyly stepped forwards.

"Err... I'm sorry Ma'am, but we... we were wondering how Douglas is doing? the young police woman asked her superior officer timidly.

It was becoming more and more obvious that she was the new girl, and didn't yet have the same level of confidence as the rest of her colleagues. That was probably why Officer Jenny took pity on her, and gave her a small albeit strained smile.

"Not so good I'm afraid Sammy" Officer Jenny sighed, before gesturing other towards where the man, who they now knew to be known as Douglas, lay sleeping, "Take a look for yourself".

Her officers did just that.

Nolan, Ash and Misty, along with Meadow and Pikachu, all quickly backed away from the prone figure of Douglas to allow his colleagues and friends to get closer. All four of the adults looked equally shocked and horrified at seeing their friend in such an awful condition. Nolan honestly couldn't blame them for their aghast expression. Douglas was in pretty bad shape after all. Finally, the blonde haired police woman couldn't stand the sight of it anymore, and had to look away, turning her attention back to Officer Jenny.

"And we still have no idea what could have done this?" she asked in a voice that was barely more than a whisper.

The expression on Officer Jenny's gave the answer before she even opened her mouth.

"Sadly no Charlie, we don't" the blue haired woman sighed disappointedly. It was clear that she was just as frustrated by the lack of progress they were seeing with this case as her officers were.

"Well whatever did this, they've got some guts" the handsome male police officer remarked, looking down at Douglas with bitter anger lining his features, "This is a big step up from attacking wild Pokemon and travelling trainers. They've crossed the line in attacking an officer of the law!"

"Easy Rick" Officer Jenny tried to sooth him, although it was hard considering that she was just as angry about this latest attack as he was, "We'll get justice for Doug and everyone else that this thing has attacked, but not by flying off the handle, okay?"

Her stern tone of voice was enough to deflate the man a little bit, though only a little.

"Yes Ma'am" he sighed, his angry expression quickly changing to one of genuine sadness. "I'm sorry Ma'am. It's just so frustrating, and now that this has happened to Doug..."

"I know" Officer Jenny replied, softening her tone and expression, "I feel the same way Rick, I honestly do, but we're not going to stop until we have some answers".

The police officer, Rick, opened his mouth to reply, but unfortunately he never got the chance to. For at that exact moment, the elder grumpy looking male officer seemed unable to contain himself any longer, and rudely butted into the conversation.

"If it's answers you want, I suggest we start with them" the male said angrily, gesturing furiously in the direction of Nolan, Ash and Misty, who all jolted in surprise at the blatant accusation that they were somehow involved in this.

And without so much as waiting for his superior officer to respond, the elder policeman practically stomped across the full length of the clearing, until he was towering over the three young children.

"Alright you three!" the man all but bellowed at them, making the children recoil in fright, "Start talking! What did you do?!"

"W-we... we just... we found him" Ash managed to stutter out.

"Oh, you just found him did you?" the angry police officer honed in on Ash since he had spoken up, getting so close to him that his face was barely an inch away from the raven haired boy's, clearly an intimidation tactic, "And was he per chance, just walking on alone in the forest? Did you three little deviants just think you'll have a bit of fun? Did you just attack an officer of the law just for kicks? Have I just about got that right?!"

By the end of his tirade, the man was all but screaming at them.

Quivering with nerves along with the rest of his friends and their beloved Pokemon by the end of the verbal onslaught, Nolan couldn't help but reflect on just how badly this day was turning out. From being hopelessly lost in the woods to having a minor tiff with his best friend, to almost having a panic attack due to having his precious partner random run away, to the horror of finding a man that was practically in a coma. And now they were being accused of committing a terrible crime when they were totally innocent.

Needless to say, Nolan was pretty much emotionally spent by this point, and he had no qualms about letting that fact be known.

"Now you wait just a minute!" the golden haired boy snapped back, sarcastically mimicking the man, "When we found this man he was already like this. It had nothing to do with us".

The policeman immediately rounded on him like an angry Tauros.

"I don't much care for your tone boy" the elder man told him, narrowing his eyes at Nolan, but the blonde haired Pokemon trainer had had enough by this point to actually care.

"I don't much care for yours either" Nolan shot back, the prospect of getting himself arrested not even crossing his mind, he was getting so worked up, "Tell me, is it standard police procedure to alienation potential witnesses with baseless accusations?"

The man's face turned an ugly shade of purple.

"Why you cheeky little toe-rag!" the man shouted, spit flying from his mouth as he started yelling back, "In my day you'd have got a clip around your ear for such back-talk!"

Nolan couldn't help but sneer condescendingly at the belligerent man.

"In your day, fire was still something to get excited about!" Nolan drawled back sarcastically.

Flanking the annoyed boy on either side, Ash and Misty were both looking at him in abject horror. They both knew that whilst Nolan had a very sweet and kind disposition under normal circumstances, his temper could quickly spark if something rubbed him up the wrong way. And boy was this jerk rubbing him the wrong way right now! They both decided to intervene before he landed himself in major trouble.

"Nolan, its alright" Misty tried to reassure him in a soothing tone of voice, "We know that we haven't done anything wrong".

"Yeah" Ash agreed with their friend's realistic assessment of the situation, "There's no need to get so worked up".

The golden haired boy scowled unhappily at their words, despite knowing deep down that they were right. Still, it didn't improve his mood very much when the unpleasant policeman, who seemed to have latched onto Nolan's natural defensiveness, sneered down his nose at him in a very nasty fashion.

"You know young man, you seem awful defensive for someone who claims to be completely innocent in all this" the man remarked dryly.

Nolan had to count to ten in his head before he replied to that. It was obvious that the man was just trying to provoke a reaction out of him this time.

"We. Are. Innocent" he ground out through his teeth, "Perhaps I'm simply a person that doesn't like been accused of hurting innocent people and Pokemon for no reason whatsoever".

The policeman's face twisted in a mockery of a smile.

"Ah... but I do have good reason to suspect you boy" the police officer replied, his tone and expression becoming rather smug, as if he had successfully just lured Nolan into some kind of trap, "You see, whilst we haven't been able to determine much about the identity of the perpetrator in these attacks, we do know that all of them were first knocked out with a Sleep Powder attack!"

As he revealed that little detail, the unpleasant man's eyes drifted down until they were resting upon Meadow, who was nuzzled up against Nolan's leg. It was pretty obvious that she was Nolan's Pokemon. Just as it was pretty obvious what the policeman was implying.

"Oh, I see" the golden haired boy remarked, his tone practically oozing with condescension and sarcasm as he caught the obnoxious man's line of thought, "The victims were all knocked out with Sleep Powder and Bulbasaur are capable of using it. Yeah, it's an open and shut case!"

The policeman scowled at the sarcastic response, but unfortunately for him, he never got the chance to reply to Nolan downplaying his theory.

Without even sparing the annoying man a second glance, Nolan immediately began rummaging around through his pockets, and eventually brought out his pokedex. Still not looking up from the job in hand, he quickly scanned Meadow with the pokedex, and once her specific information had been brought up, Nolan held the device out for all the police officers to see.

The look on the confrontational policeman's face was absolutely priceless.

In one swift move, Nolan had effectively rendered the man's so-called evidence totally meaningless. For displayed quite clearly on the pokedex's screen for all the world to see was the current move-set that Meadow knew and could perform. A move-set that most definitely did not include Sleep Powder.

It was Nolan's turn to look smug as he flipped his pokedex shut and put it back in his pocket.

"Anything else to add Officer?" the golden haired boy asked in a faux-cheery tone, enjoying how the man turned an unpleasant shade of violet at his mocking, "Or have you embarrassed yourself enough for one day?"

The other male police officer, Rick, snorted in amusement, with the two female officers, Charlie and Sammy, both had to work hard to contain their giggles. The police officer that Nolan had just shown up looked positively furious, and opened his mouth angrily to respond, but unfortunately for the confrontational man, he never got the chance to. For at that exact moment, Officer Jenny stepped forwards to break up the dispute, and she too looked far from happy or amused.

"Alright Anthony, that's quite enough!" the blue haired woman in charge told her officer sternly. The man glowered darkly at her, but didn't verbally respond, "The kid's right. You're just making a fool of yourself now".

The man's, Anthony's, jaw dropped wide open in outraged shock upon hearing those words from his superior officer. Nolan on the other hand couldn't help but smirk smugly. It was painfully obvious that this man was very unpopular with his colleagues after all.

"But Ma'am, just because it wasn't the Bulbasaur doesn't mean that these children weren't involved in the attack on our follow officer!" Anthony protested, dismayed by how this was all playing out.

Officer Jenny sighed deeply, and pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumb and forefinger, as if silently asking the heavens to give her strength. After a few moments, she then turned back to Nolan, Ash and Misty.

"Children, do any of you currently have on your persons a Pokemon that is capable of using the moves Sleep Powder or Leech Life?" she asked tiredly. It was clear that the woman was only asking them this purely to appease her colleague. At least she had much better manners than him.

"No" both Nolan and Misty firmly shook their heads.

Ash was the only human member of their group that didn't immediately respond. Instead, his hand absentmindedly glided across the smooth surface of one of the pokeballs strapped to his belt.

"My Butterfree learnt the move Sleep Powder after he evolved from a Metapod the other day" the raven haired boy finally admitted, before a look of genuine confusion played across his features, "But I have no idea if any of my Pokemon can use a move called Leech Life. I've never heard of that move before, nor do I know what it's supposed to do".

That seemed to satisfy Officer Jenny, who smiled and nodded politely at the three young Pokemon Trainers. Anthony on the other hand wasn't quite so willing to give it up just yet.

"And how do we know that you're not lying?" the obnoxious police officer demanded to know.

"Oh for goodness sake!" Nolan couldn't help but throw up his hands in sheer exasperation as this silly old fool refused to just admit that he was wrong about them, "If you're so confident that we caused this, answer this - why would we stop and make sure that all of you found him if we were involved in this? Why would draw that kind of attention to ourselves?"

Anthony floundered for a few seconds, scrambling for some kind of logical reasoning, but it quickly became obvious that this time he was stumped.

Of to the side, Rick, Charlie and Sammy couldn't help but all grin in amusement. They always enjoyed watching their grumpy old colleague get knocked down a peg or two, and this time it was even better considering that it had been a kid that had managed such a feat.

"He's got you there Tony" Rick grinned slightly at the older male.

"Shut up!" Anthony growled at him. He didn't like it when people called him Tony, a fact that Rick was well aware of.

"No Anthony, he's right" Officer Jenny cut in, having had enough of this now, "As this young man has pointed out, it makes absolutely no logical sense for them to use Douglas' radio to contact us if they were in anyway involved in his attack. They made sure that he was found by the right people, so instead of badgering them, we should be thanking them".

Anthony immediately opened his mouth to protest, but Officer Jenny held up her hand, silencing him before he could utter so much as a single syllable.

"No. No more" she said sternly, cutting him off before he could even start, "I won't have one of my officers alienating innocent witnesses based purely on flimsy circumstantial evidence. Is that understood?"

Anthony looked as though he had swallowed a lemon, his expression was so sour.

"Yes Ma'am" he hissed through his teeth, making his resentment of her authority over him quite clear.

"Good" Officer Jenny smirked, darkly satisfied at having managed to shut him up, before she adopted a much kinder expression as she turned her attention back to the trio of young Pokemon Trainers, "Now, perhaps we should start this from the top. Children, I'm Officer Jenny, a sergeant police officer based in Pewter City. These are my constable officers; Officer Rick Harrison".

She gestured towards the younger male police officer who grinned at them.

"Sup kids?" he winked.

"This is Officer Charlotte Webber" Officer Jenny continued, this time indicating the platinum blonde police woman.

"Call me Charlie" she requested with a warm smile.

"You've met Officer Anthony Silverstone" the police woman in charge then gestured towards the very confrontational officer, a look of distain briefly flashing across her face.

Anthony gave no verbal response. He just sneered down his nose bitterly at the three children.

Officer Jenny paid him no mind, and quickly gestured towards the young red haired officer warmly. The youngest female officer was beaming at Nolan and his friends.

"And this" Officer Jenny fondly patted the petite redhead on her shoulders, "Is Officer Samantha Lane, although everyone calls her Sammy".

"It's nice to meet you all" Sammy greeted them with a lot of enthusiasm.

With all of her officers introduced, Officer Jenny then took a small step closer to the young trainers, an encouraging smile growing across her face.

"Well, you guys now know who we are" she remarked, her tone even but clearly wanting some information back in return, "Perhaps now you can share who you are?"

Her words were not a request.

"Sure" Ash eagerly stepped forwards, never one to be shy about introducing himself to total strangers, "I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, and this is my partner, Pikachu".

"Pika" Pikachu cheerfully waved at the police officer,s earning an Aww from both Charlie and Sammy.

"My name is Nolan Locke, and I'm also from Pallet Town" Nolan introduced himself, before he crouched down and scooped Meadow into his arms before he quickly stood up again, "And this is Meadow. She's my partner Pokemon".

Last but not least, Misty stepped up to introduce herself as well.

"And I'm called Misty. Misty Waterflower" the orange haired girl brightly introduced herself with a wide smile, "I come from Cerulean City".

Officer Jenny beamed at all of them.

"Excellent" the blue haired woman clapped her hands together, pleased to have names to put with their faces. And now that the pleasantries were over and done with, she briskly got down to business, "Now, if memory serves, I was just about to explain exactly what has been going on around here before my officers arrived, isn't that right?"

Nolan, Ash and Misty all eagerly nodded their heads. They were pleased to know that they were finally about to get an explanation for all of this.

"Well you see, this all started about nine days ago" Officer Jenny explained whilst behind her, her officers all stood at ease, sensing this might become a lengthy explanation, "I wasn't on duty at the time, so I've only heard this account secondhand, but apparently a pair of brand new Pokemon Trainers suddenly burst into the Pewter City Pokemon Centre, begging for medical assistance. When asked what the problem was, both of them claimed that the two of them as well as their Pokemon partners had all been attacked by some kind of mysterious monster out here in the Viridian Forest".

Nolan couldn't help but swallow nervously upon hearing those words. It was rather disturbing to think that some sort of monster was prowling about the same forest they'd spent the last week camping out in.

"M-monster?" Ash stammered out, his russet coloured eyes growing very wide.

"Eek! Like a bug?!" Misty gasped in horror, turning pale at just the thought.

"We don't know. The two trainers weren't able to give a very clear account of what actually happened to them" Officer Jenny regretfully shrugged her shoulders in response to the questions, "They were both so hazy on the details that to begin with, we weren't sure whether to take the incident seriously or not. If it wasn't for the condition of their Pokemon, the whole thing would probably have been dismissed as a prank. But the Squirtle and Charmander were both so weak that we knew we couldn't ignore it".

That last throwaway comment caused something to click in Nolan's mind the moment the words Officer Jenny's mouth. Brand new trainers crossing through the Viridian Forest, traveling together, with a Squirtle and a Charmander as their partners? That was way too much to be a coincidence.

"Chase and Elaine?!" the golden haired boy burst out before he could even attempt to stop himself.

Officer Jenny gave him a surprised, and not to mention confused, look.

"Those were the names of the two trainers!" the police woman nodded, her tone a little bewildered, "But how could you possibly know that?"

Everyone else turned to stare at Nolan as well, all of them utterly perplexed, causing the blonde haired boy to blush slightly under all of the attention he was now on the receiving end of.

"The day that me and Ash got Meadow and Pikachu from Professor Oak and set out on our Pokemon journey, three other brand new trainers also left Pallet Town" Nolan explained to the group at large, "Two of the others got the other traditional Kanto Starter Pokemon. Chase got the Charmander, whilst Elaine got the Squirtle. I just figured it might be them".

Everyone nodded, accepting the explanation that the golden haired boy had given them.

"Well, they were just the first" Officer Jenny pressed on before there were anymore interruptions, "But then it didn't stop. Over the last few days, there have been over fifty reported cases of either people or Pokemon showing up in Pewter City needing medical assistance after being attacked by something in this forest".

Nolan, Ash and Misty all gawked at her in horror.

"Fifty?!" Ash exclaimed in disbelief.

"And those are just the ones we know about" Officer Rick remarked from the sidelines.

"What? And none of these people have been able to tell you anything about the so called 'monster' that's doing all of this?" Nolan couldn't help but sound a little sceptical about that. After all, if so many people had been attacked, surely someone had seen their attacker, right?

Wrong.

"Sadly no" this time it was Officer Charlie who responded to the question, a look of genuine disappointment flashing across her face, "You see, the same thing happens each time - the victims all recall hearing something approach them, but as they turn to get a proper look, they get hit in the face with a blast of Sleep Powder and end up blacking out before they can see who's there".

"So they're knocked out before they have chance to do anything" Misty shook her head angrily, finding such a tactic to be downright cowardly.

"Precisely" Officer Anthony nodded gruffly, "Which is why I questioned the presence of the Bulbasaur".

Meadow shot the man an annoyed look, but otherwise nobody really paid the grumpy obnoxious officer much mind.

"And it gets worse" Officer Sammy chimed in sadly, wringing her hands anxiously, "When the victims finally regained consciousness, they all reported feeling exceptionally tired and drained. A lot of them even became quite ill, although thankfully the doctors have said that none of the victims should have any lasting damage. They all seemed to be suffering from malnutrition and extreme exhaustion".

"And let my guess" Nolan said knowingly as the pieces of their earlier conversation began slotting together, "From that you were able to determine that the move Leech Life was being used to drain their energy away".

"Exactly" Officer Jenny nodded, impressed that a child of Nolan's age had made that connection, "Every time that there's been an attack, the victim wakes up with a stinging pain in their neck. That's where the attacker is using Leech Life".

Nolan and Misty both nodded as they absorbed this information, but Ash still had a question or two unanswered.

"You keep talking about that move" the raven haired boy noted, a confused expression appearing on his face, "But what is Leech Life? I mean, what does it actually do?"

Before any of the police officers had a chance to respond, Nolan saved them the trouble by answering his best friend's question for them.

"It's a move not totally dissimilar to Meadow's Leech Seed attack, although rather than a seed being used, a sort of needle is fired at the target instead" the golden haired boy explained whilst Ash listened with rapt attention, "The 'needle' then absorbs energy out of the target, and transfers a portion of it back into the Pokemon that used it to restore their own energy".

"Hence calling it Leech Life" Ash murmured as he understood now, "That's clever. So that explains the mark on your Officer's neck. He had his energy drained".

His words were not a question.

"Yes, him and all the others" Officer Jenny nodded forlornly.

"But why?" Misty was the one to voice the obvious question, "I mean, why drain all that energy out of so many people and Pokemon? What's the point?"

"That's why we're here" Officer Jenny replied to her, "Or at least part of the reason why we're here. To figure that out, to find the one reasonable for all these attacks, and most importantly, to put a stop to them".

"That and to figure out the other mystery" Officer Anthony remarked dryly.

"Other mystery?" Nolan was almost afraid to ask. After all, what could possibly be as bad as innocent people and Pokemon being struck down and drained of their energy for no apparent reason?

Officer Jenny gave her officer a somewhat annoyed look, before she sighed, and turned back to the curious children to explain.

"You see, there is one more element to this whole thing that has us all baffled" Officer Jenny sighed once more, before she gestured towards Officer Douglas, who had yet to regain consciousness, "Take a look at what's in his hand".

Nolan immediately realised where this was going from those few words alone.

"The Iris Flower" he muttered thoughtfully.

"Yes" Officer Jenny nodded, again finding herself slightly impressed by the fact golden haired boy had correctly identified the pretty purple flower, "We haven't the faintest idea why, but for some reason, when all of the people and Pokemon woke up after they were attacked, each of them without fail found themselves to be holding one of these Irises".

"That's... weird" Ash said slowly, unable to even begin to fathom what that might be about.

"It is" Officer Sammy nodded, her braided pigtails bobbing about, "All we've been able to come up with are a few guesses".

"I reckon that it's the attacker's calling-card myself" Officer Rick mused aloud, scratching his chin thoughtfully.

"Regardless of the reason why, these Irises clearly mean something to the mysterious attacker" Officer Jenny intoned seriously, drawing all the focus back to herself, "They're significant, no doubt about that. It was for that reason that I gave the task of locating and apprehending the guilty party reason for these attackers the official codename 'Operation Iris'. I can only hope we manage to complete it soon, before anyone else gets hurt".

Nolan, Ash and Misty, along with Meadow and Pikachu, all fell into an intense silence as they allowed everything that they'd learnt to properly sink in. It was a lot to wrap their heads around after all. But then, after a moment of deep contemplation, an idea struck a certain golden haired boy in the group. A rather ingenious idea if Nolan did say so himself. So without even a moment's hesitation in case he second guessed himself, Nolan boldly took a single forwards, and made a declaration that shocked all of them to their cores.

"Officer Jenny!" the blonde boy exclaimed, nothing but pure and unadulterated determination lining his tone, "I volunteer to help you catch this mysterious attacker!"

And just like that, their day was doomed to descend into chaos once more...
