Hey readers : ) Here we are with Part 4 of my first original 'Episode' in this story : )
And in very exciting news, as of the last chapter, we've reached 100 reviews! HURRAY! I'd like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone that has reviewed for helping this story reach that milestone. I really appreciate all the continued support, so thank you all so much, and please keep it up : )
Anyway, let's move on to the winner of last week's voting topic. I'm excited to say that the winner of the latest evolution vote was... Welkin the Pidgey! He is now a Pidgeotto, which I'm super excited about since I wrote him in as a Pokemon that really wants to evolve and now he gets to, plus he was the first teammate beside Meadow, so Welkin is pretty special to Nolan in this story : )
Finally, please remember that Pokemon is not mine, only my OCs are.
I hope you enjoy this chapter : )
Operation Iris - Part 4
An incredulous silence met Nolan's declaration as everyone present in the forest clearing struggled to comprehend his words. Struggled to really process what the golden haired boy had just volunteered himself for. Once they had all taken a moment to allow the boldly spoken words to sink in however, there came an immediate outcry of everyone, the reaction of each and every person a varied degree of shock. Well, shock and a certain curiosity as to why he would want to go hunting for a creature such as the one behind all this. A creature capable of draining a man of all his energy, and just leaving him alone in the woods to die. Needless to say, none of them could see where Nolan's thought processes were going with this, and none of them had any qualms about letting that fact be known, rather loudly as it turned out...
"You want to do what?!" Ash burst out in disbelief, gaping at his best friend as if he had lost his mind.
"Absolutely not!" Officer Anthony immediately shot down the request, "Allowing a mere child to be involved will simply get in the way of an important police investigation!"
"Nolan, why would you want to find this thing?" Misty chimed in incredulously.
"That's an awful idea! It's much too dangerous!" Officer Sammy added, the idea of allowing a child to be in such danger causing her to recoil in horror.
Everyone was speaking over one another, and their voices quickly became an unbearable cacophony that Nolan had no hope of understanding. The golden haired boy quickly became quite flustered, not knowing who to reply to first. It was obvious that when he had made his request to the officer in charge, he hadn't been expecting such a vehement response from all the rest. He also had no idea how he could calm the sudden outburst down.
Fortunately for Nolan however, he wouldn't have to.
Sensing that the young Pokemon Trainer was quickly becoming overwhelmed by the rather vigorous response from everyone else, Officer Jenny knew that she needed to nip this situation in the bud before it had chance to escalate. Realising that she had little chance of being heard over the choir of voices, the police woman instead decided on another approach. She quickly gave one sharp blast on her standard issue police whistle.
It most certainly had the desired effect.
Nolan, Ash, Misty and the four other police offers all violently jumped, startled out of their wits by the shrill piercing noise that echoed out across the clearing. They all immediately fell silent, all of them looking around in bewilderment for the source of the harsh unpleasant sound. In a matter of moments, all the focus was on Officer Jenny again as everyone slowly came to realise what had just happened.
"That'll be quite enough, thank you all" the blue haired police officer said, before she focused her attention solely on to Nolan. She briskly began speaking before anyone had the chance to interrupt her, "Nolan, it's very kind of you to want to help us sort this problem out, but I'm not sure I can allow you to join us in apprehending this menace. It could be very dangerous, so it would be irresponsible of me to involve someone as young as yourself".
"Please! At least hear me out before you decide" Nolan pleaded earnestly.
Officer Jenny just barely managed to hold back a deep sigh, but nevertheless silently gestured for him to go ahead. It wasn't an unreasonable request after all, being allowed to plea his case before being rejected. He at least deserved the chance to explain why it was that he wanted to do this, so she and everyone else waited patiently as Nolan began to explain his reasoning.
"The reason that I want to join you in hunting this thing down is because I think I have a solution that would benefit us both" the golden haired boy opened his case with, clearly hoping to entice them into taking what he had to say seriously, as opposed to just humouring him.
Officer Jenny, as well as Officers Rick, Charlie and Sammy all looked intrigued by his words, as did Ash and Misty. Officer Anthony was the only one that didn't seem too interested in hearing him out, and snorted contemptuously to prove it.
"I doubt that very much boy" the obnoxious police officer grunted.
Nolan couldn't help but glare up at the irritatingly stuffy old man, but chose not to verbally response. He didn't want to colour Officer Jenny's final decision by losing his temper after all. So instead, Nolan ignored Officer Anthony entirely, and focused on addressing the others.
"The police have already determined that the known techniques Sleep Powder and Leech Life are the ones being used in these attacks, right?" the golden haired boy pressed on.
"Yes..." Officer Jenny said slowly, not sure where he was going with this.
"And did any of the human victims in any of the other attacks report hearing a person ordering the Pokemon to use such an attack?" Nolan wanted to know.
Again, Officer Jenny looked slightly confused by his line of questioning, but humoured him and answered the boy regardless.
"No" she shook her head, knowing that no such event had taken place, at least not to any of the victims' recollections, "All of the human victims were all taken by surprise. Presumably the same applies to all the Pokemon victims as well".
A huge smile eclipsed Nolan's face at the confirmation that Officer Jenny had just given him.
"Well then it's logical to assume that this is the work of a wild Pokemon" the golden haired boy continued explaining his theory, "And since other Pokemon are also being attacked, it's probably just one Pokemon working on its own rather than a whole group".
Officer Jenny still didn't seem to be getting it.
"And whilst that definitely comes as a great relief, I'm still not sure why you want to track this rogue Pokemon down yourself" the blue haired police woman admitted, her tone and expression both riddled with bewilderment.
Nolan couldn't help but smile enthusiastically up at her.
"Because this Pokemon is clever. It's managed to successfully carry out dozens of attacks without so much as one person or Pokemon being able to clap eyes on it" the golden haired boy, whilst knowing that the actions were abhorrent, also couldn't help but point out just how impressive such a feat was, "Plus it's draining a lot of energy into itself by doing what it's doing".
"Which means?" Ash was the one to question him this time.
"Which means that whatever it is that is doing all this, it's strong" Nolan explained for his best friend's benefit, before turning his attention back to the officer in charge of leading Operation Iris, "It's also strategic. It's exactly the type of Pokemon that I need to add to my team".
And just like that, everything became oh-so-clear.
"You want to capture this wild Pokemon" Officer Jenny said in a low breath as the realisation hit her. A frown grew across her beautiful face as she immediately began to mull the suggestion over.
"And train it" Nolan nodded his confirmation eagerly, "Think about it, it's a win win. You put an end to all the attacks in the nearby area, and I get a powerful new Pokemon that I can keep from causing any more trouble".
Officer Jenny had to admit that now that the boy had explained it all the way through, the idea did have some merit.
"Hey! That's a great idea!" Ash immediately jumped on the band wagon, a huge smile lighting up his face, "I'm gonna try and catch it too!"
Upon hearing those words from the other boy's lips, Nolan instantly whirled on the spot, a look of indignation flashing across his features.
"No way Ash! I thought of it first!" the golden haired boy snapped angrily at his best friend, unable to believe that Ash actually had the sheer gall to try and hijack his plan like that, "Besides, you just got Butterfree and Pidgeotto. It's my turn to catch something new!"
Loathed though he was to admit it, Ash could see that Nolan actually had a point there. Whilst the golden haired boy couldn't exactly ban Ash from trying to capture any Pokemon that he wanted to, it had been Nolan's idea to try and catch this mysterious Pokemon first, and it would make Ash a pretty crummy friend if he just point-blank ignored that. So forcing any objections out of his mind, Ash gave his friend a somewhat strained smile.
"I guess you're right" the raven haired boy admitted, and Nolan couldn't help but grin triumphantly.
"Well I reckon you're both completely nuts!" Misty chimed in, shaking her head at her two male friends incredulously, "This thing is quite literally sucking the life out of people, and you want to bring something like that along with us on our journey! You both must be crazy!"
Nolan couldn't help but smirk widely at her in response.
"Not crazy, just... dedicated" he playfully teased her, laughing slightly when her jaw dropped wide open in shock, "Look - I wanna be the very best, which means I need tough Pokemon. I just happen to think that this one fits the bill, and I can offer it a good home".
Misty just shook her head at him, still unable to wrap her mind around his somewhat warped logic.
Whilst the three youngsters had all been talking amongst themselves, Officer Jenny had been giving the idea some serious, albeit quick, consideration. She had to admit that what Nolan was offering was a tempting offer, one which would clear up the problem for the local area very quickly and effectively. Of course, she had some reservations as well though. It would take a skilled trainer to keep such an unruly Pokemon under proper supervision and control, but she had a gut feeling that this boy was up to the task. She eventually decided to follow through with that feeling.
"Okay Nolan" she eventually broke the silence that had gradually fallen over them all, "I'll admit that the idea of having a proper trainer take responsibility for this assailant is a good one, so I will allow you to join us in the search for this Pokemon".
For one brief moment, a look of pure and unadulterated disbelief flashed across Nolan's face. He had thought for sure that his hopeful suggestion was going to be shot down in flames, as such was the case many a time when a child asked for a grown-up's permission. Now that the opposite had been proven true however, the golden haired boy's gigantic grin threatened to outshine the sun itself.
"Yeah! Thanks a lot Officer Jenny" the golden haired boy cheered happily, fist pumping the air ecstatically.
Off to the side, Ash looked pleased on behalf of his best friend, just knowing that Nolan already had his heart set on this. Misty on the other hand couldn't help but sigh. She just knew that she was also going to end up being dragged into this. She wasn't the only person in the clearing to be less than thrilled by this turn of events either.
"What?!" Officer Anthony naturally had to put a downer on things, and he looked at his superior officer as though she'd lost her mind completely, "Ma'am, you can't possibly be serious. He is a child! This wild creature has already proven just how dangerous it can be. It needs to be put down! Not placed in the hands of some stupid delinquent kid!"
Nolan felt as though he'd just been slapped, Officer Anthony's words hit him so harshly.
Whilst he had understood going in that some of the adults present might hold some reservations about allowing him to capture this mysterious Pokemon, he couldn't believe just how venomous the man was being about it. He honestly was more toxic than a Nidoqueen, not to mention utterly vile. And - Nolan couldn't help but feel cold just thinking about it - the man's solution to this problem was murder. Plain and simple. He wanted to kill the Pokemon behind these attacks like it's own life was worthless. It was nothing short of barbaric, and Nolan had no qualms about telling the obnoxious man as such.
"That's disgusting!" the golden haired boy yelled so loudly that a couple of nearby Spearow were startled right out of their tree, "You vicious, nasty little man! You have no idea as to why this Pokemon is doing what it's doing, and your first thought is to murder it! What kind of Police Officer are you?!"
A long, echoing silence rippled across the clearing in response to the boy's utterly incensed words.
Everyone turned as one to look at Officer Anthony, each of them expecting some kind of explosive reaction to the accusations Nolan had all-but-yelled in the man's face. They weren't about to be disappointed either. For a brief moment, it appeared that the obnoxious man had actually been struck dumb, and he just stood there, his mouth slightly agape in sheer disbelief. Then he was towering over the golden haired boy, his skin a brilliant shade of purple, his eyes narrowed until they were practically slits. It was more than a little obvious that the man was beyond absolutely livid.
"You little... how dare you..." the police man seemed incapable of speech, he was so enraged. He was actually foaming at the mouth, giving him quite a frightening appearance, "I WILL NOT BE SPOKEN TO LIKE THAT, DO YOU HEAR ME?! ESPECIALLY NOT BY A MOUTHY UNRULY LITTLE BRAT! YOUR PARENTS SHOULD HAVE TAUGHT YOU SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS AND BETTERS BOY!"
Rather than be phased by the red-faced man bellowing in his face however, Nolan couldn't help but scoff derisively in response.
"Betters? You? Give me a break!" Nolan drawled mockingly, enjoying the way that Officer Anthony's face slower turned redder and redder with each passing moment, "How exactly in that twisted little mind of yours is it 'better' to suggest murder over rehabilitation?"
Officer Anthony's neck seemed to swell up, he was getting so angry. His expression spoke volumes too. It was quite clear that the man would have quite cheerfully wrung Nolan's neck in that moment if he wasn't a serving police officer.
"I WOULDN'T EXPECT A NAIVE LITTLE TWIT LIKE YOU TO UNDERSTAND BOY, BUT MY WAY WOULD ELIMINATE THE THREAT POSED BY THIS SAVAGE BEAST ONCE AND FOR ALL" the obviously unhinged man screamed for all the world to hear, "IF YOU CATCH THAT THING, MARK MY WORDS YOU'LL SCREW UP, AND SOMEONE ELSE WILL PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR INCOMPETENCY! WELL I WON'T HAVE IT!"
"Oh yes you will!" Officer Jenny cut in, and this time she didn't look even remotely annoyed by her pompous officer. No. This time she looked downright furious with him, "Now I do not know how many times that I have to tell you this Anthony, but this had better be the last one. You need to watch how you're talking to people. Just because you wear that uniform doesn't give you the right to scream at people just because you hear something you don't like and I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour from the officers serving on my team. Have I made myself clear?"
Officer Anthony might as well have swallowed a lemon, the expression on his face was so sour.
"Yes. Ma'am" he just barely managed to spit out through clenched teeth. It couldn't by more blatantly obvious that the man had absolutely no respect for Officer Jenny or her authority whatsoever, nor for anyone else but himself. Nolan could honestly say that he felt genuine pity for anybody unfortunate enough to have to work with such a horrid individual.
Officer Jenny didn't look at all happy about his response, and looked torn between tearing him a new one right there and then, and trying to maintain a certain level of professionalism. Ultimately deciding that she needed to go with the latter, the blue haired woman took a very deep breath - which didn't really calm her brewing temper at all - before turning her attention back to Nolan with as much dignity as she could muster.
"Nolan, I can only offer you my most sincerest apologies" the police woman bowed her head apologetically, "I really hope that you won't allow the appalling conduct of my officer to colour your opinion of the Pewter City Police Department".
Nolan breezily waved her apology off. Of course he wasn't going to tar all of the officers with the same brush based on the actions of one person.
Behind Officer Jenny, Officer Anthony silently fumed, unable to believe that his superior officer was taking the side of a little delinquent over a respectable police officer such as himself.
"Err... Perhaps we should just get started now" Officer Rick piped up, offering the suggestion simply in an attempt to break the uncomfortable silence that had fallen over the group following his colleague's unprofessional outburst, "We have a lot to do if we're gonna stop this Pokemon after all".
Officer Jenny seized upon his words as if they were a lifeline.
"Yes, you're quite right Rick" the police officer in charge nodded gratefully at the young man, "We still have a lot of ground to cover if Operation Iris is to have any chance of being successful after all".
Nolan looked up at her in eager anticipation. Ash and Misty were a little less enthusiastic, seeing as they were both itching to get to Pewter City and out of the forest already, but both of them gave the officer in charge of the operation their full attention as well. The other officers also gathered around in order to listen to the briefing.
"Now the way that I see it, the best thing that we can do at this point is to question the last known victim if they saw anything" Officer Jenny began with what, to her at least, seemed the most logical place to start at.
"Okay... well, the last person we know for sure that came into contact with this thing is... your officer" Nolan pointed out, gesturing sadly down at the comatose Officer Douglas. The poor man was still lying on the floor in a sleep that was eerily reminiscent of death.
"Who is currently still asleep" Misty was the one to point out the most obvious obstacle in their path to making progress at this point, "So how can we question him?"
"Yeah" Ash couldn't help but nod in agreement with the orange haired girl for pointing out the basic flaw in the plan, "Besides, he doesn't look like he's in a fit state to remember his own name, much less the attack that made him like this. If anything, he looks like he's about to go into an even deeper sleep".
Nolan could begrudgingly admit that they had a point, but the golden haired boy was nothing if not determined. He wasn't about to give up on his grand plan of capturing a new teammate that day, make no mistake about that.
"We have to at least try and wake him up" Nolan protested to his two human friends, "If nothing else, we can't just leave him here like this".
"Oh don't you worry kids" Officer Jenny chimed back into the conversation in a surprisingly bright tone, causing the three youngsters to look back up at her, confusion etched into each of their faces, "I have just the thing to wake Officer Douglas up in no time at all!"
Nolan, Ash and Misty could do little more than just look at each other in utter bewilderment.
Aware of all the curious gazes upon her, Officer Jenny quickly sprung into action. The blue haired police woman rummaged around in the pockets of her uniform for a couple of moments, before eventually she found what she was looking for. Much to the confusion of Nolan and his friends, what Officer Jenny now held in her grasp was a tiny glass bottle. She offered up no explanation, so the children were forced to look on in confused silence as the commanding officer then approached her fallen colleague's side. Officer Jenny knelt down, and carefully opened the miniscule glass bottle. She then placed it beneath the unsuspecting Officer Douglas's nostrils.
The effect was instantaneous.
"WWHHOOAA!"
Frantic to a point where you'd believe that a rampaging Tauros had just stepped on him, Officer Douglas's eyes suddenly snapped wide open. The man let out a loud yelp of surprise, before he immediately started coughing and spluttering. Nolan, Ash and Misty could do little more than just look on at the display in absolute astonishment.
"See what I mean?" Officer Jenny playfully grinned over her shoulder at them, before laughing at their gobsmacked expressions.
It took a couple of moments for the reality of what they had just witnessed to really sink in, but once it had the children couldn't help but smile back at her. And quite naturally, they immediately all had questions for her.
"That's amazing!" Ash breathed, the raven haired boy being the first one to rediscover his voice, "I pretty much screamed in his ear and he still didn't wake up. What is that stuff?"
"Smellingsalts" Officer Jenny smirked as she put the tiny glass bottle back in her pocket, "Ever since I began investigating these attacks, I've started carrying a bottle of the stuff around. Just in case, you know?"
Before anybody had a chance to respond, a wheezy throaty cough echoed throughout the clearing, immediately pulling everyone's attention back to the matter at hand.
"Welcome back Douglas" Officer Jenny said kindly to her fallen officer, who blinked up at her dazedly through bleary eyes, "How are you feeling?"
"Like... like I've just been run over Ma'am..." Officer Douglas managed to rasp out in a weak voice. The poor man tried to sit up, but immediately felt nauseous, and ended up having to lie back down just to get the world to stop spinning around him, "Ohhh... what happened?"
Officer Jenny gently patted him on the shoulder, a silent request for him to take it easy, as she began to explain.
"We were hoping you could tell us" the blue haired police woman informed him, elaborating when the confused and exhausted man just blinked up at her in a daze, "It seems as though you've had a run in with our mystery perpetrator".
Officer Douglas still looked a little thrown for a moment, but once his superior officer's words actually registered with him, the young man groaned and covered his face with his hands.
"So... so I've been knocked out too..." the sickly man mumbled to himself as he tried to make sense of it all in his muddled up mind, "It drained my energy..."
"Yes, it did" Officer Jenny nodded in confirmation, not bothering to sugar-coat it since Douglas was already catching himself up to speed, "But everything's going to be alright now Douglas. You're perfectly safe. Do you think you're up to telling me what you remember?"
Officer Douglas still looked very shaken up by this entire ordeal, but he weakly nodded his head.
"Good man" Officer Jenny said bracingly, clapping him lightly on his shoulder, "Just take your time, and try to put together the sequence of events as best you can".
Nolan and everyone else all waited in eager anticipation as the man began his story.
"I remember this morning's briefing at the police station back in Pewter City..." Officer Douglas said slowly, clearly having a bit of difficulty in stringing the precise order of events together, "And I remember us all coming into the Viridian Forest together..."
"Yes, we know. We were all there for that bit" Officer Anthony butted in rudely, earning himself several reproachful looks from the others, which he pointedly ignored, "Fast-forward to the actual attack!"
"Anthony, he's doing his best" Officer Charlie scolded him, her eyes narrowed at him in distain.
Officer Anthony harrumphed indignantly, but didn't speak out again. Officer Douglas however had managed to pull himself together enough to resume his story.
"I was searching this area of the forest, just as you had instructed Ma'am..." the pale man trailed off for a moment, struggling to remember exactly what had happened, "Everything was fine... until..."
The dazed man fell silent.
"Until what?" Officer Jenny prompted gently, being much kinder than Officer Anthony was about it, "Try to remember Douglas".
"I... I heard a noise" Officer Douglas began uncertainly, but then continued with much more confidence, "Yes, that's right. There was the sound of rustling leaves, and I realised that it was coming from behind me. I turned, and looked down at those bushes over there".
The sickly looking man paused in his recounting of events to point at some of the bushes that lined the forest clearing that they were all currently situated in.
"I walked into the bushes to investigate, and that's when I got hit in the face by a Sleep Powder attack" Officer Douglas explained, his face screwed up in concentration, "I must have fallen asleep straight away because I can't remember anything else after that".
"And the attack came from the bushes you were looking down at?" Nolan wanted to clarify as he realised something that he felt was of rather high importance.
Officer Douglas blinked, before he seemed to notice Nolan, Ash and Misty for the first time since his revival. His face twisted in confusion as he regarded each of them in turn.
"Who... who are you?" he asked them weakly, rubbing his throbbing head.
Nolan opened his mouth to reply to the dazed man's question, but thankfully Officer Jenny stepped in to explain before the golden haired boy could say anything.
"Douglas, I'd like you to meet Nolan Locke, Ash Ketchum and Misty Waterflower" the blue haired woman introduced the three children, pointing at each of them in turn, "They were the ones that found you unconscious out here. It was thanks to their quick thinking of using your police radio and their Pokemon to signal their location that allowed us to find you so quickly. If it weren't for them, things could have been a lot worse for you".
Officer Douglas looked at the three young Pokemon Trainers with renewed interest, before a grateful smile eclipsed his still flushed face.
"It sounds like I owe you a great debt. Thank you all" Officer Douglas sincerely thanked them, which the children modestly shrugged off, "And to answer your question young man, yes, I was looking down when I was attacked".
Nolan nodded his understanding as he silently mulled over what that particular piece of information must mean. The others all noticed his thoughtful expression and stared at him in puzzlement.
"Does that matter?" Misty couldn't help but ask her friend curiously.
"Well..." the golden haired boy said slowly as he became aware of the fact that everyone was now staring at him, "It rules out any wild Butterfree that live in the forest from being the attacker".
"How so?" Ash asked his best friend, his fingers absentmindedly ghosting across the pokeball containing his own Butterfree.
"Because Butterfree scatter the spores necessary for a Sleep Powder attack from the surface of their wings, meaning they'd have to be airbourne" Nolan explained patiently, and the others all nodded as they cottoned on to his trail of thought, "An attack coming from the ground in an upwards motion implies that whatever it is that's doing this, it's a land-based Pokemon".
"Still doesn't tell us exactly what it is we're looking for" Officer Anthony put in snidely. It was clear that he was still very disapproving of the fact that a child was being invited into an official police investigation.
"But it helps us avoid looking for the wrong thing" Officer Charlie bluntly cut him off before he could start another argument.
"Precisely" Officer Jenny nodded, before an inquisitive look came over her face, "Douglas, is there anything else you can tell us about what happened to you?"
Officer Douglas scrunched up his face for a few moments, before he sadly shook his head.
"Sorry Ma'am, but that's all I can remember" the sickly man replied apologetically.
"There's no need to apologise" the blue haired police woman in charge of the operation assured him kindly, "And you said it was these bushes over here?"
"Yes Ma'am" Officer Douglas nodded his head, but quickly stopped when the motion made him feel sick again.
Wasting no time at all, Officer Jenny briskly walked over to the bushes that her colleague had previously indicated to. Everyone watched her as the blue haired police officer scoured the bushes for a couple of minutes. When she finally stepped out of them again, Officer Jenny had a disappointed look on her face.
"I thought there might have been some footprints that we could have followed" she explained upon noticing the somewhat puzzled expressions on Nolan's, Ash's and Misty's faces, "Unfortunately, no such luck".
"Which means we still have no idea where in this entire forest that this menace might be hiding" Officer Anthony remarked bitterly.
Everyone present in the forest clearing couldn't help but glare at the man out of pure and unadulterated annoyance. It was like he was deliberately trying to be as unhelpful as possible, which considering what they had seen of the man so far, wasn't beyond the realm of possibility.
"Then we're just going to have to keep searching, aren't we?" Officer Rick shot at him, clearly out of patience with the obnoxious man now.
"Exactly" Officer Charlie nodded in agreement with him, "Besides, searching for this Pokemon was what Operation Iris was all about in the first place. It's not like we're any further behind than we already were".
"If anything, an attack on a Police Officer should be more motivation to keep going forwards with a search. Not less" Officer Sammy optimistically chimed in.
Officer Jenny couldn't help but beam at the three of them. Whilst she understood that the three children probably wouldn't get it if it was spoken aloud, but the blue haired woman was extremely proud of her officers in that moment. Or at least three of them. Their positive and determined attitudes alone was enough to prove that she had definitely picked the right people to be apart of Operation Iris. But an attack on an officer of the law meant that the stakes had just changed, so she decided to waste no time in getting down to business.
It was time to come up with a different strategy.
And that's another chapter done : )
So now Nolan and the others all know what's going on and he's going to try and capture a new teammate. Exciting times : ) I think that you guys can work out which Pokemon it will be from the list of teammates that you guys have voted to join Nolan's Kanto team : )
Anyway, let's move on to this week's voting topic, and it's a rather special one this time. Not only are you guys going to get to pick between several gift Pokemon, but this will be the last addition to Nolan's original team from Kanto. I'm talking of course about the Game Corner Pokemon, which I deliberately saved until the end because there's a variety of interesting Pokemon to choose between. Here are the options : )
Pokemon Options: -
Game Corner (Option 1) - Mr Mime - Male - Timid Nature - Soundproof Ability
Game Corner (Option 2) - Clefairy - Female - Naughty Nature - Cute Charm Ability
Game Corner (Option 3) - Porygon - Genderless - Brave Nature - Trace Ability
Game Corner (Option 4) - Scyther - Male - Impish Nature - Swarm Ability
As I'm sure you guys have guessed, the Mr Mime was originally an Abra that I traded for a Mr Mime since Nolan is already getting an Abra and evolving it in the story, so I figured I'd present you guys with a different option. The reason why I haven't put a Dratini up as an option will hopefully become clear when I play through my future Nuzlocke of the Johto region : )
And that's just about everything for this week. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter, and thank you for reading. Please also consider leaving a review as I'd love to hear your thoughts and your suggestions : )
Until the next time, keep on reading : )
