Sunday morning came and went, and Shadow's "special delivery" was nowhere to be found. Not that it mattered too much, since the banks were closed anyway. Although perhaps that would have worked to Shadow's advantage. But there was nothing he could do about it. Except maybe call Dr. Robotnik and try to coordinate with him to meet the delivery person (or, in this case, animal) halfway. But that would be too complicated to coordinate. And besides, he had to get ready for the Sunday matinee performance.

Shadow was feeling uneasy about robbing a bank. He had never stolen anything before in his (short-lived) life. It would be simple enough, but that didn't mean he felt good about it. It would have been so much easier for him to just lend Dr. Robotnik the money, had it not been for this bullshit guardianship he found himself in. Not that he even knew anything about money or how it worked. Still, it would be worth it for that shiny, gold-plated AK-47, he told himself.

See, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, Shadow is still very new to the world, and thus very naive. The good folks back at AGES purposefully avoided educating him on things like banks or personal finance, or anything remotely useful in the real world for that matter. Kind of like the U.S. Education system. But I digress. In addition to his training as a Broadway performer, they basically just artificially instilled in him an obsession with guns and a deep-seated hatred for Sonic and his friends. So he was left to figure out the rest on his own.

Now, as for disguising himself as Sonic, that would be child's play, he figured. He arrived at the theater several hours before the performance and broke into the hairdresser's inventory backstage, where he found a whole box of hairspray of different colors, including a blue that was nearly identical to the color of Sonic. He also found an old pair of red Converse high tops, which he would wear instead of his super-cool hover shoes, much to his chagrin. Although he would look nearly identical to the blue hedgehog, he would still have to make sure that the security cameras didn't catch a glimpse of his face. Just in case.

As for the robbery itself, that might be a little more complicated. He would have to time it just right. The Chaos Control, which he had limited experience with at this point, would only last five seconds. See, Dr. Robotnik, right before leaving AGES and against the wishes of his superiors, had briefly demonstrated to Shadow the power of the Chaos Emeralds and how to use them. Shadow thus understood their awesome power and had a good handle on the basics.

So Shadow would have five seconds to stuff as much money as he could into his backpack and make a run for it, doing everything in his power to make himself look like Sonic and making sure not to give his true identity as Shadow away. How hard could it be?
