Another day had come and gone. That morning Franklin was laying peacefully in bed. The city trip the day prior left him feeling exhausted.
Mayday dragged him all around the Hall of Science, wanting to see every little detail about the place.
Together they checked out different science experiments such as blowing and stretching bubbles to study properties. Using Lego Sets to construct tiny feats of architecture. They got to experiment with electricity in a safer environment.
The Design labs were fun too, which allowed them to really test their mental prowess using regular materials to form great structures. They got a nice view of ecological systems, demonstrated with incredible animation.
They had some fun outdoors, such as playing Mini Golf around Rockets, and running through a playground.
Their favorite part was relaxing in a theater together, seeing mini movies about Space, Wildlife and other forms of science.
While Mayday enjoyed the education aspect of it, and was blown away by all that Earth had discovered as far as science goes, she more than anything enjoyed sharing this moment with Franklin.
To her, this was the best thing Franklin could have done for her. It felt like a real date.
Franklin was satisfied, and more than happy to have shown Mayday a great time. All of the running around left him very exhausted however, resulting in him plopping down in bed the first chance he got.
That morning however, he was awoken to a gentle touch that was followed by a kiss on the cheek. "Morning Frankie."
The boy slowly opened his eyes and saw Mayday kneeling over him, greeting him with her gentle gaze and soft smile.
"Oh, good morning Mayday," Franklin said as he sat up. "You're up early."
"It's almost 11:00 AM," Mayday said.
"Wait really?" Franklin checked the clock, seeing a time of 10:47 AM. "Wow, I slept later than I expected to."
"Well, we did have a lot of fun in Queens yesterday," Mayday said. "And that's only part of New York that we're exploring. We still have four more boroughs."
"I'm not sure how much more there is to see," Franklin said. "All Brooklyn has is some basketball arena. The Bronx and Staten Island are pretty boring too. But, there is Manhattan, and that has plenty of impressive spectacles."
"As long as you're with me, I know I'll enjoy it," Mayday said as she placed a tray near Franklin. "Anyway, eat up. I made you some breakfast."
"Wow really?" Franklin asked.
"I didn't do it all by myself, I had some help, but I handled most of it," Mayday said.
"That sounds great, I..." Franklin immediately saw that she prepared something rather unique. "Uh...what is it?"
"I made some eggs, sunny side up," Mayday glanced at the food item. "But it did crack a little since I slightly overcooked it. It should still be edible."
"That's fine..." Franklin noticed what was next to the eggs. "I see some sausages...they're blacker than I expected them to be."
"Yeah...I may have cooked them too long, but Rogue did insist that they should be edible," Mayday said. "I also poured you a glass of apple juice, home made by Auntie Apple Bloom."
"Oh, that sounds nice," Franklin said.
"Is it...bad?" Mayday nervously asked as she twiddled her feet.
"Huh? No way!" Franklin insisted. "It's just...different. But that's fine, different can be good."
"Do you mean it?" Mayday asked as she shyly glanced away.
Franklin stood up and took the girl by her hand, "Listen, you were kind enough to cook breakfast for me when you didn't have to. That alone makes me happy, because it shows just how much of a caring person you are. I am so happy that you're my girlfriend, and I never want to give you up."
"Aw...thanks Frankie," Mayday said, then placed a kiss on the boy's cheek. "You always know how to make me feel special."
"It's nothing," Franklin said while blushing from the affection.
"It's funny, before I started dating you, I don't think I could stomach the idea of being so close to someone else," Mayday said. "Yeah I had Flurry but we were cousins, so I felt kind of obligated to be there for her. There's also Luster Dawn, she means a lot to me too, but we only bond over how much we dislike socializing. But you? Something about you just makes me feel so different."
"You don't seem that different to me," Franklin said. "You've always been the same sweetheart of a girl that I've known since I met you."
"Pfft, I wasn't a sweetheart, it took me forever to like you," Mayday said. "Plus, remember how unkind I was to Sandbar and his friends?"
"To be fair, they deserved it half the time," Franklin said. "They kept telling you that you need friends or something. I do agree with them to an extent, everyone needs a friend, but they didn't need to make you feel isolated over it."
"Yeah, that hurt me quite a bit," It was Mayday's turn to take Franklin by his hand. "Which makes me even more grateful that you were there to look out for me."
"Of course, I would never let someone talk to a girl like that," Franklin said. "Especially a friend of mine."
"You're such a gentleman," Mayday said as her blush deepened. "Hey...Frankie?"
"Yeah?" Franklin replied.
"...I love you," Mayday said just before leaning in to catch Franklin in a deep kiss.
Franklin was blushing hard, something about this kiss felt different from normal. A lot of Mayday's kisses usually have some type of energy to them, and a bit of awkwardness due to her social ineptness.
This time her kiss had much more passion, with a gentler approach. She wanted to feel as close as possible with Franklin, not just with the kiss, but also a hug she began pulling him into.
Franklin instinctively hugged back, gently rubbing Mayday as he fell deeper into her kiss.
After a solid minute, the two broke away, gently gazing into each other's eyes. Both their faces were red and their hearts were pounding. Franklin could not resist and pulled Mayday into yet another kiss as he fell back on his bed, with Mayday landing on top of him, the girl still locked in the kiss as the two enjoyed the company of one another.
Downstairs, Peter was seen working on some gadgets in the living room alongside Shocker. Peter focused on his web shooters while Shocker applied some fixes to his gauntlets.
"Maybe this will work," Shocker said as he placed his gauntlet on. "Where's the window?"
"Twilight would prefer if you stopped firing out the window, she's worried about the shockwaves," Peter said. "Plus last time you fired at nothing, it ended up knocking over some trees and they blocked a nearby highway. Fortunately no one caught on."
"I gotta experiment somewhere," Shocker said. "These things need to really pack a punch. We're going against some really dangerous people after all."
"I know, that's why I'm upgrading my webbing," Peter said. "We just need to be careful with our testing. We don't want to alert anyone to our presence."
"Who are we going to alert?" Shocker asked. "Everyone that's dangerous is back in Equestria."
"That we know of," Peter said. "These guys can travel the multiverse, who's to say they haven't come back and are waiting for the next moment to strike?"
"Eh...good point I guess," Shocker said.
"Plus, not all the villains are there," Peter said. "I probably got some old enemies of mine that are still around."
"They hang around the city, not Upstate," Shocker said.
"Word travels fast," Peter said.
"Well anyway, I don't know who else is even around," Shocker said. "Kingpin maybe, but he's got his own troubles. I imagine that attack on New York City a few weeks back has him busy. The Hood's also out doing whatever."
"With Martin Li in Equestria, it looks like Fisk and Robbins are having quite the power struggle," Peter said, before some dread took over. "That actually has me worried. I wonder if I should look into that?"
"What happened to staying out of trouble?" Shocker asked. "The moment either guy spots you, they'll go through hell just to finish you off. I don't need to tell you that you left a lot of enemies behind, people who still want you dead."
"Still, some days when I'm in Equestria, I worry that I basically abandoned New York," Peter sadly admitted as he looked to the side, now deep in thought of his current dilemma. "The people there counted on me. Without me there-"
"They were just fine," Shocker finished, earning Peter's curiosity. "Look, I get you were worried, but you weren't the only hero in New York. People like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones stepped up in your absence. I certainly didn't fare any better with one of those nutballs around."
"They keep you out of trouble?" Peter asked.
"I took a punch from Luke Cage, bastard hits like a truck," Shocker said.
"Yeah, that adds up," Peter said.
"Don't even worry about Fisk either," Shocker said. "After all, I think we both know someone that handles Fisk just as well as you do."
Peter thought back to his good friend Daredevil, knowing full well that he too prioritized stopping Kingpin just as much if not more than he did. "Good point. I do feel kind of bad for leaving it on them though."
"They made their choice," Shocker said. "Not like you made them do anything. They would be doing this thing regardless if you were a hero or not."
"I guess so..." Peter said. "Still, did I shirk my responsibilities?"
"Wow..." Shocker said as he glanced at Peter. "Kid, I gotta admit. You really take this hero thing to heart. I honestly respect and admire that determination. But you really gotta stop acting like villainy depends on your existence. It's not like you went somewhere else just to screw around. You became the protector of another country, that's way more intense than just keeping New York City safe. Now enough with the worries already. You're a hero, show a little optimism."
"...I can't believe I'm getting advice like this from one of my old villains," Peter said.
"Watch it kid, I'm not that old," Shocker said.
"Well, thanks though, I appreciate you looking out for me," Peter said. "You really aren't such a bad guy, I don't know why you became a crook."
"Like I always say, it wasn't my dream to be a crook, life just left me with no choice," Shocker said. "I wanted to be an engineer, I even went to college for it."
"It's not too late," Peter said. "Bad as you were, you were never evil like The Green Goblin. There isn't anything you've done that can't be reversed. You can start over. Taskmaster did, and now he's Captain of the Guard in Canterlot. He's actually pretty happy about that."
"Heh, gotta say, I didn't expect Masters to make it that far," Shocker said.
"Doctor Connors has been doing well with his treatment, and Marko has been trying to put everything behind him as well," Peter said. "Marko teamed with The Avengers once. You can do that too. Imagine being a member of The Avengers, doesn't that sound cool?"
"I guess..." Shocker said. "Kid, answer me this. What really drives you as a hero? Like, I heard about your uncle, and I'm sorry that happened to him. But was it really just that?"
"It's something I think about a lot," Peter said. "My wife believes I could have been a hero even without my uncle dying. But honestly, it's not just because of what happened, it's because I allowed it. Had I not been stubborn, my uncle wouldn't have been shot. I can't make that mistake again. Hesitation leads to death."
"Well, that explains why you're so worried," Shocker said. "Still, why is it completely your fault? Couldn't someone else have stopped that mugger?"
"It doesn't matter if someone else didn't stop him, what matters is that I didn't stop him," Peter said. "Every man is responsible for the good he did not do."
"Well someone's getting philosophical," Shocker said.
"Point is, if I have the power to do the right thing, I should take it," Peter said. "It's what my Uncle would want."
"I think he'd also want you to chill out a bit," Shocker said. "Life's too short to worry about this crap. Do your best, but stop acting like you're Jesus himself. You've done plenty of good in your life, just keep up the pace and you'll be fine."
"Funny, it feels like everyone keeps telling me stuff like this," Peter said.
"Wow really? Gee it's almost like maybe it's something you should do!" Shocker said. "What's it going to take for you to just lighten up?"
"I wish I knew," Peter said.
Not too long later, Sonata walked by while stuffing her face with a bag of pretzels. She noticed the boys and started speaking despite her mouth being full. "Hoi Petuh, hoi Humie!"
"Sonata, don't talk with your mouth full," Shocker said. "Also you really, REALLY need to dial back with the junk food."
"I'm honestly amazed she hasn't gained any weight," Peter said. "She must have really fast metabolism."
"What..." Sonata swallowed her pretzels before resuming. "...Are you boys up to?"
"Just working on our gadgets and getting ready to storm Equestria and take the land back," Shocker explained.
"Neat," Sonata said.
"Hey, do you have any suggestions on what to do when we go against your siren friends?" Peter asked.
"Here's some good advice for fighting them," Sonata then got in Peter's face, glaring hard at the hero. "Don't!"
"Uh...noted," Peter nervously said.
"Sonata, if they attack, we gotta fight back," Shocker said.
"I can talk to them, just please don't hurt Adagio or Aria," Sonata said. "More than that, please do not hurt Cozy Glow. If you could spare Marty too, that would be a big help."
"I'll let you handle Aria and Adagio, and we'll stay away from Cozy," Shocker said. "But, we make no promises with Martin Li. He's too dangerous to leave to chance."
"We'll do our best though," Peter said.
"Hey, don't be soft," Shocker said.
"Herman, just let him try to spare them," Sonata scolded. "The real bad guys are The Green Goblin, Doctor Doom and Albert Wesker. Plus a bunch of others, but those are the main ones."
"Don't worry, I will definitely not let The Green Goblin escape," Peter said. "Not after all the cruel and terrible things he's done."
"Things are personal with you and Osborn, right?" Shocker asked. "What did you do to piss him off?"
"Foil a guy enough times, and he'll make things personal," Peter said.
"Peter," Twilight said as she came into the room. "Sunset's out back, I think she's waiting for you."
"Probably wants to do more training," Peter said as he attached his web shooters. "Time to test these things out."
"Finally, someone worthy of my testing," Shocker said as he placed on his gauntlets. "Let's go, Spidey."
The two had gone out back, leaving Twilight with Sonata for the moment. Twilight turned to the girl who was still stuffing her face.
"Have you tried eating more fruits?" Twilight asked.
"Don't you judge me," Sonata said.
Twilight shrugged it off before focusing back on the girl, "Hey, is there anything else we should worry about with those villains back in Equestria?"
"Hey I told you all that I could," Sonata said. "The Green Goblin never talked to me much, Tirek was too mysterious, and we didn't interact with Wesker and Doom until much later."
"Their goal is the multiverse," Twilight said. "How were they going to pull that off?"
"With numbers," Sonata said. "That's why we weakened their worlds a bit. If all is going to plan, then I think Super Skrull went back to Sega to weaken that world with help from Doctor Eggman. There's people fighting back but Kl'rt is really bringing it to them."
"Sega...that's where Sonic is from," Twilight noted. "Chances are he and his friends may be leading the charge."
"Or what's left of them," Sonata said. "Goku Black really did a number on Sonic's world, and killed a few of his friends."
"So I've heard..." Twilight said, feeling sympathy for the fallen. "I shudder to think what Goku Black could be doing in Equestria."
"Honestly, he might have gone back to his own dimension," Sonata said. "He has some unfinished business there. That world's only hope is a boy named Trunks, and some members of a group called The X-Force."
"I remember Trunks, he's Vegeta's son from the future," Twilight said. "Rather his world's future."
"Exactly," Sonata said. "And Wesker's got some muscle of his own watching over Capcom. There are actually some villains that haven't shown up in Equestria that are under his payroll. Figuratively speaking for some."
"How many more?" Twilight asked.
"I don't remember," Sonata said. "I think he mentioned some guy named Urien, and that he didn't want to show up to the meetings. He also mentioned a Balrog too."
"Balrog? He was there when Capcom first invaded Equestria..." Twilight said. "He's that sleazy boxer."
"That's him," Sonata said. "He has his own sub-section of Shadaloo, so they might be thrashing Capcom."
"...Has Wesker or anyone mentioned someone from this world?" Twilight asked. "Here in Marvel?"
"I think I heard the name Kraven," Sonata said.
"Kraven? As in Kraven the Hunter?" Twilight asked.
"I don't know any other Kraven," Sonata said. "For all we know, he's in this world somewhere."
"That worries me," Twilight admitted. "So much chaos, and Tirek's been planning this for ten years?"
"Well longer, but it was ten years ago when he met The Green Goblin and Electro," Soanta said. "Then me and the girls showed up a year later, then sometime afterwards, we got Shocker on our side. Then the more that got sent to Tartarus, the more that came back. Like Mysterio, and Marty, and Cozy, and Scorpion."
"Scorpion...I believe he's dead," Twilight recalled. "He along with that Mad Gear Gang member, and Annahilus."
"Did you say 'Annihilus'?" Sonata asked. "That big, bug monster?"
"Yes, Rogue mentioned that a man named Kratos finished him off," Twilight said.
"Well, that's strange," Sonata said. "I heard he was immortal and couldn't die."
Twilight slowly turned her attention to Sonata, staring in disbelief, "You mean that monster could still be alive!?"
"Yeah, but maybe it's nothing," Sonata said. "I might have gotten the wrong information."
"Sonata...this is not something I can leave to chance," Twilight said. "Do you know for sure if he can come back or not?"
"I think Doom mentioned it, but like I said before, he never really talks to anyone," Sonata said. "More often than not, a lot of us aren't even talking to Doom. We find out later that it's just some robot and that Doom is somewhere else plotting stuff. He's not very social."
"Great, so Doom can recreate a perfect robot of his likeness," Twilight lamented. "For all I know, that wasn't the real Doom fighting us out there."
"I'm pretty sure it was, but yeah, it might have been a fake," Sonata said. "Those old co-workers of mine are very sneaky."
"This is not easing my worries," Twilight said.
"Sorry I can't be of more help," Sonata said.
"Can you at least tell me about that Bell?" Twilight asked.
"I already told you," Sonata said. "It's an old Bell used by Gusty the Great that stole Grogar's powers, then got sealed away because it was too dangerous to use."
"But how does it work?" Twilight asked.
"I don't know Twilight, you're going to have to ask Celestia," Sonata said. "She's been alive long enough to remember Grogar and Gusty the Great."
"I can't get two words out of Celestia lately," Twilight said. "She just stays cooped up in her room."
"Still?" Sonata said. "Even after that tour yesterday?"
"She seems worse," Twilight said. "I think she's homesick."
"We're all homesick, but we're trying our best here," Sonata said. "Now I suggest we march up there and get some answers out of her about Grogar's Bell. And maybe those other Artifacts. They did steal Queen Novo's Pearl."
"Right, that's how the non-Equestrians returned to their original form," Twilight noted.
"That might be able to be used to our advantage too," Sonata said. "It's just going to take a little bit of planning."
"Anything else?" Twilight asked.
"We can try grabbing that Idol from Griffonstone and that Scepter from the Dragon Lair too, but they're pretty useless compared to the Bell and The Pearl," Sonata said.
"I'm honestly amazed you got that Bell," Twilight said. "You really climbed Mount Everhoof just to reach it?"
"While braving a magical snowstorm too," Sonata said. "It was fine. It was just me, Cozy, Aria, Adagio, Herman, Max, Quentin and Marty. We had lots of fun."
"You sound so fond of them," Twilight said.
"Well yeah, you know I'm close with Adagio and Aria, we're like sisters," Sonata said. "Then we adopted Cozy Glow into our family as our little sister. Then came Herman who was like that cool big brother. Then there's Max who was that pouty cousin. Then Quentin, our theater kid best friend. Then Marty, who's like that father figure to us. We felt like one big, happy family."
"And that's why you want to keep them safe, right?" Twilight asked.
Sonata nodded in confirmation, "They mean a lot to me. I just can't understand why I'm in this position. Aria and Adagio have been through so much with me since our banishment. Cozy...I promised her that I would take care of her, and I have. I've been very doting towards her. Max, Quentin, Marty...I really thought we were close."
"Well, you believed it was fear that caused friction, is that correct?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, there was definite fear," Sonata said. "I can't be too mad that they wouldn't stand up to Doctor Doom and the others, but the betrayal still stings."
"I imagine it would," Twilight said. She then gently placed her hand on Sonata's shoulder "Don't worry, we'll do our best to fix this for you. I promise."
"...Thanks Twilight," Sonata said. Despite Twilight's words, the girl could not help but worry about her friends.
Outside, Lightning Dust was seen throwing some discs into the air while Peter webbed them down.
"Great work Spidey, looks like your precision isn't slacking," Lightning Dust said.
"Yeah, that's still fine at least," Peter said as he checked his web shooters. "Though, I still feel a little off. Like, maybe I can do a bit better."
"You're fine," Lightning Dust insisted. "Alright, time to test Herman's precision."
"Screw that, my gauntlets have a kick to them now," Shocker said. "Give me a big target."
"Big huh? Sure, let's roll with that," Lightning called over to Sunset. "Got something big?"
Sunset used her magic to levitate a massive boulder in front of Shocker, earning an excitable reaction from the former villain.
"Now THIS is what I'm talking about!" Shocker aimed his gauntlets and charged up. "Try not to get caught in the blast!"
Everyone waited in anticipation as Shocker readied an incredible blast, with Lightning Dust eager, Thunderlane worried and Sunset readying a forcefield.
Peter however noticed that the gantlets were making a strange noise. He wasn't sure what to make of it until he saw a tiny spark with some smoke coming out of it. "Shocker..."
"Get ready for a blast!" Shocker said as he was about to fire.
"Shocker, wait!" Peter called, but the man was too in the zone.
"AND FIRE!" The moment Shocker pressed his button, Peter rushed in to yank the gauntlets off and threw them into the air just before they exploded, the soundwaves worrying everyone in the house.
Trixie had poked her head out to yell at everyone, "What is going on down there!? I am trying to read a book!"
"Sorry!" Lightning Dust called.
Peter looked relieved that the situation had calmed itself, the hero immediately checking on Shocker. "Hey, you alright there, Herman?"
"Yeah..." Shocker said, albeit in a disappointed manner. "Crap...so much for my gauntlets."
"Herman, you nearly lost your hands," Lightning Dust said. "Is that more important than your gauntlets?"
"Hey, the point of the gauntlets was to have power so I can blast our enemies to smithereens," Shocker said. "All this shows me is that I still have more work to do."
"Fine...also Peter just saved you, don't you think you owe him a thanks?" Lightning Dust asked.
"It's fine, don't worry about it," Peter said as he looked down at his hands. "I barely reacted in time anyway."
"Well, I am glad you were here Spidey," Shocker said. "Pretty relieving to be at the other end of a rescue."
"Yeah sure..." Peter walked off with a lot on his mind as he wandered off.
"What's with him?" Thunderlane asked.
"Geez, he must have really been worried about you, Herman," Lightning Dust said.
"No, something tells me he has something else on his mind," Shocker said.
Twilight had just come outside with Sonata, the girl frantically looking around. "What was that explosion!?"
"That was me," Shocker said. "My new Gauntlets had too much power."
"Ugh, you gotta be more careful than that, Hermie!" Sonata said.
"I'll do my best," Shocker said, then turned his attention to Lightning Dust. "I don't suppose you have any suggestions."
"Do I look like an engineer?" Lightning Dust asked.
"To be fair, you help design those dangerous looking traps that you and your Washout Buddies like to fly through," Shocker said.
"There's designing traps and doing whatever it is you're doing," Lightning Dust said.
"Just work with Peter, he's got his own gauntlets," Thunderlane said.
"He's got enough on his plate, and I gotta get this done now," Shocker said. "I'm itching for payback and I want to make sure it's the most painful experience possible for the bastards who screwed me over."
"I feel the same way," Lightning Dust said. "I can't wait to go back to Equestria and kick some ass."
"I'd settle with rescuing my family," Thunderlane said, the man sadly looking aside. "I'm really worried about my brother and nephew. Flitter and Cloudchaser. I'm definitely worried about my daughter."
"I know how you're feeling," Twilight said. "I'm worried about my son. I'm glad Mary Jane is keeping an eye on him but...I'd feel better if he were in my arms."
"They know we're alive, right?" Lightning Dust asked. "I imagine that'd be one less thing for them to worry about."
"Julia did say she was going to tell a few of them, she's trying to keep our survival a secret for now," Twilight said. "This way we have the advantage against the villains."
"Honestly, I can't imagine that will last long," Shocker said. "These guys aren't dumb. All they need to do is find proof that we survived the blast, and they'll come after us."
"Well hopefully they haven't caught on," Twilight said.
"Mom?" Mayday had come outside with Franklin. "Frankie and I heard a boom."
"That was me kid," Shocker said. "My gauntlets exploded."
"Oh no..." Mayday ran over to the man and checked his arms. "Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, your pops helped me out," Shocker said. "I put too much energy into them."
"You have to be careful with that, your gauntlets are too small to handle that output without the proper modules to contain it," Mayday said. "You might need some really strong metal and better wiring if you want a strong blast."
"Well unfortunately, we're limited on resources," Shocker said.
"Can't you contact Eris?" Mayday asked. "She can pop some materials into existence."
"Couldn't she pop the whole thing?" Sonata asked.
"I don't know how her powers work, besides it's better to build it yourself," Mayday said.
"It is, but I'd rather not rely on her," Shocker said. "I can barely trust that woman."
"That so?" Eris asked, popping into existence and startling Shocker, Mayday and everyone around.
"For God's sake, lady!" Shocker shouted. "Learn to knock!"
"Seriously, that's getting really old," Thunderlane said. "Bad enough Julia does it too."
"Does what?" Julia asked, her presence startling everyone again.
"These fucking ladies, I swear..." Lightning Dust lamented.
"Julia, what brings you here?" Twilight asked.
"I just came to check on you," Julia said. "How goes your progress?"
"Fine...it looks like we hit a few snags, but we're getting there," Twilight said. "How's Equestria?"
"Your friends are doing a good job of suppressing the threat for now," Julia said. "But things are getting grim. As of right now, almost every major city in Equestria is under their command. From Canterlot, to Manehattan, to Las Pegasus. Even places outside of Equestria such as Griffonstone and The Dragon Lair have fallen."
"Is it really that bad?" Lightning Dust asked.
"I'm afraid so..." Julia said.
True to her word, each city was being hit hard in different ways.
Electro had molded the city into his image as he sat upon an electrical throne, using his powers to command the ponies below.
"So this is what it's like to feel like a God!" Electro boasted as he used his electricity to show his face across the screens. "Work hard ponies, if you slack off, well you'd be in for quite a shock!"
Electro sent out a warning shockwave to encourage the ponies to work faster as he glanced at a nearby picture that Cozy Glow had made once, featuring himself, The Dazzlings, Mysterio and Shocker.
"Damn Herman, if you hadn't screwed up, you could have your own piece of the pie," Electro said. "Same with you Sonata, you really broke Cozy Glow's heart."
Within Griffonstone, Tron Bonne was seen laying on top of a pile of treasures that she found, thanks to the Idol of Boreas.
"Now this is how a Queen is supposed to live," Tron said as she clapped her hands. "Servbots! More lemonade!"
"Yes Miss Tron!" The Servbot said as it went to grab more for the Pirate Queen.
"I bet Wesker will be so happy about how I'm ruling this place," Tron said as she glanced at a picture of her brothers. "I should call Tiesel and Bon over. They'll be so proud!" Tron glanced at another picture, one featuring two people. "If only my parents could see me now."
In Canerlot, despite his troubles the day prior, Tirek continued fiercly ruling over the land, keeping a closer eye on the ponies.
"Work faster!" Tirek shouted. "Thanks to those so-called heroes, your work just got doubled!"
He looked out to the distance, trying to figure out where his enemies may have gone.
"You won't evade me for long, I will take my revenge against you fools!" Tirek warned. "I will make you watch as I destroy everything that you hold dear!"
Back with Julia, the woman shuddered as she considered just how many lives were being affected by the villains' rule.
"This is just Equestia too, some villains have even returned to their home worlds to wreak havoc there as well," Julia said.
"Just like I thought," Sonata confirmed. "I bet Goku Black is one of them."
"Yes, and I believe the one called Shredder has returned to his world as well, with his newfound power to boot," Julia said.
"I still don't know where that guy came from," Twilight said. "The only clue is that he's an enemy of those Ninja Turtles, as Donatello confirmed to me."
"Badass name though," Lightning Dust said. "When someone's called Shredder, you know he kicks butt."
"It's also a cruel reminder that they will align with anyone in the multiverse," Julia said. "If they worked with Shredder with little hesitation, imagine them aligning with The Justice League's villains."
Sunset turned to the side, the girl thinking about this herself, "Cammy was worried about this too."
"Not to brag, but I think we can handle whoever that world sends our way," Twilight said.
"Even if it's The Joker?" Shocker asked. "I won't lie, even I would be a little worried fighting that guy. Especially after the stories I've heard."
"I can handle a clown," Twilight said.
"Someone's confident," Eris said. "But enough of the What-Ifs, if you strike soon enough, those villains won't have time to make new allies."
"That is the plan," Twilight said. "We still need a little more time, I don't know if Peter's ready."
"How much more do you need?" Eris asked. "It's already been about three weeks."
"I realize that, we're not exactly sitting around doing nothing," Twilight said. "We're trying here, but Peter's not quite ready, and I don't know if anyone else is either."
"I need more time for my Gauntlets," Shocker said.
"I'm ready to go," Lightning Dust said.
"No, you're not," Thunderlane said. "Not without us at least."
"Hey, I want to rescue your family too," Lightning Dust said. "Your family is my family. Plus, I'm worried about Logan, Laura and Fluttershy."
"Logan..." Twilight thought about the older mutant. "I hope he's alright. Does he know we're alive?"
"I told him," Julia confirmed. "Just yesterday too."
The night prior at the edge of Klugetown, Julia had gathered the remaining Elements along with their husbands. Mary Jane Watson was also present with Laura.
"So, I bring some good news," Julia said. "Peter, Twilight and the others are still alive."
"For real!?" Johnny asked, the hero's eyes lighting up. "They're really alive?"
"You better not be pulling our legs!" Applejack warned.
"I assure you that they survived," Julia said. "They were pulled out at the last second by Eris. They're currently on Earth, recovering and preparing."
Mary Jane felt very relieved to hear this, "I knew Peter would be okay."
"He is okay, right?" Bobby asked. "I know you said he's alive but..."
"He was in a coma for at least a week and a half," Julia confirmed. "He's back up and getting ready to return."
"A coma?" Johnny asked in worry. "I'm glad he's alright, but a coma? Man, those guys really messed him up then."
"Peter needs to improve his strength," Julia said. "He is unfortunately not ready to return, but he is working at it."
"Hey after how bad things got, of course he's gonna need to buff up," Remy said. "No use in him coming back if he's gonna get another whoopin'."
"I'm glad Peter's alright, and Twilight too," Applejack said. "What about mah sister though?"
"She's alive and well," Julia confirmed.
"Oh thank heavens..." Applejack said, the mare almost crying in relief as Remy knelt down and pulled her into a comforting embrace.
"That means Franklin's okay too," Johnny confirmed. "We gotta tell Reed and Sue!"
"They know," Julia confirmed. "They're with Capcom right now, and they already knew."
"Wait, Reed and Sue knew!?" Johnny asked. "How come I'm the last to know? I'm Franklin's uncle!"
"Hey, maybe Ben doesn't know yet either," Rainbow Dash said.
"He knows," Julia said.
"BRUH!" Johnny shouted.
"Easy babe, what matters is you know now," Rainbow Dash said.
"That means Mayday's alright too," Logan said.
"Yes, she also survived," Julia said.
"Oh thank goodness," Fluttershy said.
"That also means Lightning Dust is alive!" Laura said, the girl actually smiling. "Sweet!"
"This is perfect, so everyone's alive," Wade said. "Those dumbasses couldn't get the job done. Now all we gotta do is wait for Peter to come back and kick ass."
"Assuming we don't liberate Equestria before his return," Johnny said. "We might actually beat Peter to it."
"Hell yeah," Laura said.
"This is perfect!" Pinkie said. "I can't wait to tell everyone!"
"Hold on a second, if you tell others about this, Peter may lose the element of surprise," Julia confirmed. "For now, let's keep it a secret, okay?"
"A secret!?" Pinkie asked. "But...I'm not really good at secrets."
"Besides, you really want to keep something like this a secret?" Johnny asked. "What about their other friends?"
"Rumble deserves to know his brother's alive," Laura said. "He should also know about his wife too."
"Ah gotta tell Big Mac that Apple Bloom's alive," Applejack said. "We should tell Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo too."
"We gotta tell Shining Armor and Cadance about Twilight for sure," Wade said. "Flurry Heart and Luster Dawn need to know about Mayday too."
"I should tell Harry about Peter," Mary Jane said. "Flash too."
"...Okay, you can tell them, but don't let it spread out too much," Julia said.
"Do it in the morning though, it's late and everyone needs sleep," Logan said. "It's hard to sleep with the excitement."
"Good point," Johnny said. "Anyway, thanks for keeping us up to date. With Peter alive, we can try to work him into our plans, should he be ready."
"I will let you know," Julia said as she left.
Back in the present, Twilight was relieved that her friends knew of her survival, "At least my brother will know."
"Mine too," Thunderlane said.
"They will keep those villains busy, but try not to take too long," Julia said.
"Just give us another week," Lightning Dust said.
"Or two," Thunderlane siad. "Just to be safe. I want to get back to my daughter and brother, but I also want to be ready to protect them."
"My, how admirable," Eris said. "It's sweet how all of you are so worried."
"By the way, how's Discord doing?" Twilight asked.
"He's fine, he's in a shack where Fluttershy checks up on him," Eris said.
"Seriously?" Shocker asked. "Leave that guy to rot, this is all his fault."
"Fluttershy wouldn't do that, she's too kindhearted," Thunderlane said.
"Still, that guys deserves some comeuppance for all this crap," Shocker said.
"Do you really want to talk, Herman?" Eris asked. "Remember, you were just fine with the plan until you got betrayed."
"Herman didn't get betrayed, he turned on the others while trying to protect me," Sonata said.
"And Sonata turned on the villains trying to protect me," Mayday said. "She and Herman are really good people."
"Aw..." Sonata rubbed Mayday's head. "You're such a sweetheart!"
"It's nothing..." Mayday bashfully insisted.
"By the way," Shocker focused on Eris. "You had your hand in this as well, don't you dare act like you did much."
"Herman, she rescued us," Lightning Dust reminded. "We kind of owe her our lives."
"Consider it even, I did it to earn your trust after all," Eris said.
"At least you're honest," Shocker said.
"Well, we shall leave you to your training," Julia said as she focused on Eris. "Let's be off."
"Ta-ta for now," Eris said as she and her friend left.
"So...now what?" Shocker asked.
"Let's find Peter and make some plans," Lightning Dust said.
"For training?" Sonata asked.
"No, for another city trip," Lightning Dust said. "He promised us Manhattan."
"You really want to go to the city?" Thunderlane asked. "After what we found out?"
"Hey, we'll train, but we should have some fun," Lightning Dust said, then turned to the nearby child. "Besides, I bet Frankie here has more ideas to woo Mayday."
"H-Hey!" Franklin shouted as Mayday began blushing.
"Peter did say he wanted to take another trip," Twilight said. "He even still has more of Queens that he wants to show off. He definitely wants to take the kids to Citi Field soon, despite Shocker's insistence that we don't go."
"Hey if he wants to see money to see New York's second worst team get their asses kicked, that's on him," Shocker said.
"You know The Mets have actually gotten better," Franklin said.
"I'll believe it when I see it," Shocker said.
"We also gotta make time for that Coney Island place," Sonata said. "Autumn Blaze sounded really excited about it."
"Alright, we'll train for a bit, then go to Manhattan," Twilight said. "Come on."
Just as everyone went to train, Franklin walked over to Mayday and took her by the hand, "I have some places I'd like to show you, even in Manhattan. It may not be as exciting as the New York Hall of Science but-"
Mayday placed her finger on Franklin's lips, then brought him in for a quick kiss. "Just spending time with you is enough."
"Heh...thanks," Franklin said, still feeling the effects of their previous moment of passion, one that was interrupted by the explosion of the gauntlets.
"So...wanna keep kissing?" Mayday asked.
"I love kissing you, but I kind of want to watch a movie with you instead," Franklin said. "I take it you've already seen all of Star Wars?"
"Not all of them, daddy only showed me the original trilogy," Mayday said. "It's weird knowing that Luke Skywalker is real."
"That's the multiverse for you," Franklin said.
"Mom wants to see Lord of the Rings since daddy told her about it," Mayday said. "Meeting the real Legolas made her even more curious. But right now she's reading through those Harry Potter books."
"Good choices," Franklin said. "So um...how about a cartoon movie?"
"Sure, which one?" Mayday asked.
"Ever hear of The Lion King?" Franklin asked.
"Hm...sounds familiar, but lets watch it," Mayday said.
"Come on," Franklin said as he led Mayday inside.
Back in Equestria, Laura had just alerted Flitter and Cloudchaser about Thunderlane's survival.
"He's really alive?" Flitter asked, then turned to Felicity. "You hear that? Your daddy's alive!"
"Hey, lower your voice," Laura said. "We're trying to keep this discreet so it doesn't find its way to the villains."
"Oh right, of course," Flitter said.
"So...if they're alive, what now?" Cloudchaser asked.
"Peter's training for a comeback," Laura said. "Which means we need to keep this world safe until he arrives, otherwise he'll come back to protect nothing."
"Makes sense," Cloudchaser said, the girl still processing the news she was told. "Man, to think they were alive this whole time...Thunderlane, Apple Bloom, Peter..."
"It's a lot to take in, but I got this straight from Madame Web," Laura said. "I suggest we keep going out there and bringing the fight to our enemies."
"Of course," Cloudchaser said.
"Should we let Rumble know?" Fitter asked.
"Johnny went to do so, it should be fine," Laura said.
Meanwhile.
"What do you mean Rumble's not here!?" Johnny asked in disbelief, the hero alongside his wife.
Lyra, who was rocking Cumulon to sleep, just shrugged it off, "He said he was busy. He left somewhere with Sweetie Belle and some friends."
"Crap, we had something important to tell him," Johnny said.
"Did he say when he'll be back?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Not that I know of," Lyra said. "He just told me he was leaving and asked if I could watch over his son. I was delighted to, mainly since I want to have a kid myself soon."
"Any reason you haven't had one?" Johnny asked.
"Well...not sure if you remember, but I'm married to another mare," Lyra said. "You know, Mrs. and Mrs., hugging, kissing, nightly activities. Bonnie and I do all that with each other."
Johnny's face turned red as dirty thoughts filled his mind. He cleared his throat while trying to suppress a smile, "Continue..."
Rainbow Dash smirked at Johnny before focusing back on Lyra.
"Since we're both girls, we can't have babies, no matter how much sex we have," Lyra said.
"...Have you tried harder?" Johnny asked. "Perhaps with an audience?"
"Too on the nose there, hon," Rainbow Dash said, then focused on Lyra. "You could adopt, Derpy did with her first kid."
"That's a possibility," Lyra said. "We also considered a donor."
"Would that donor be in bed with you?" Johnny asked.
"Johnny!" Rainbow Dash scolded.
"I don't mean me! I mean like...I don't know," Johnny said. "Tender Taps?"
"...Huh?" Rainbow Dash replied.
"Well, I actually considered Peter once," Lyra said, with a hint of sadness in her voice. "But Bonnie wasn't sure if it would affect our baby. Mayday seemed fine, I don't know if she had any major mutations."
"She has something," Johnny said.
"It doesn't matter since Peter's gone," Lyra said. "But, that would have been a nice thing to consider."
"Well, that's the thing," Rainbow Dash said. "Peter's alive."
"Huh?" Lyra asked. "But...I saw his house explode! With him in it!"
"He was teleported to Earth at the last second," Johnny said. "Same with everyone else. Twilight, Mayday, Starlight, and all the others."
"Wow...this is amazing!" Lyra said, the girl in disbelief. "That means...this little guy's mother is still alive!"
"Keep it on the down low," Johnny said. "We're fine telling you since Peter's a friend of yours too."
"And I know you and Twilight are childhood friends," Rainbow Dash said.
"Finally!" Lyra said. "You know, so many ponies forget that! Kind of bugged me that Twilight herself often forgot. It's like she doesn't care."
"She literally officiated your wedding with Bon Bon," Rainbow Dash said.
"Yeah, it was a beautiful day," Johnny said. "All the guys just ate up that kiss you had with Bon Bon."
"Aw, nice that they really appreciate romance," Lyra said.
"Oh yeah, we definitely appreciated it," Johnny said, the man confidently smiling.
"Johnny...is there something you want to tell me?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Or ask me to do?"
"...Nothing you're not comfortable with," Johnny said.
Rainbow Dash shrugged it off, "Still, we gotta find out where Rumble went. I hope he's alright, especially with that wing."
Rumble had snuck into Ponyville, sneaking past some guards on the way to the building that was once The Castle of Friendship. He wasn't alone, as Sweetie Belle joined him, alongside Scootaloo, Ocellus, Silverstream, Gabby and Smolder.
There were a few guards patrolling, keeping an eye on some enslaved ponies as they built some monuments in town, each fo them dedicated to Cozy Glow and her closest friends.
"Someone's got an ego," Scootaloo said. "Cozy Glow can't be brought down soon enough."
"Same with those dangerous friends of hers," Rumble said, the boy looking back at his wing. "I really want to get a little payback on the Siren who did this to me."
"Don't get too emotional, remember this is our chance to weaken the enemy's defense," Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah, I know," Rumble added. "Come on."
The group snuck around town, bypassing all the guards to the best of their abilities. It wasn't too easy as some of the guards were a lot more vigilant than they would have liked.
The moment a few got too close, Sweetie Belle had used her symbiote to grab and dispose of them, or Smolder used her dragon strength to knock them out.
The front entrance had some guards in place as well, to which Rumble used his speed to remove them before anyone noticed.
With the guards out of the way, Rumble gestured his team over, "This way, quick!"
Everyone had run inside, with Silverstream being the first to comment on the inside of the Friendship Center.
"This place sure brings back memories," Silverstream said.
"Yeah, it's where we all met," Ocellus said.
"Well, it's where three of us met," Smolder said. "Along with Sandbar, Gallus and Yona."
"This is also where we met Cozy Glow," Silverstream said. "Little did we know, she wasn't as she seemed."
"That we know of," Ocellus said. "She could have been controlled."
"No way, she knows what she's doing," Scootaloo said. "We're going to find her and put a stop to her."
"Just be careful, you never know..." Rumble heard some talking down the hall. "Quick, hide!"
Everyone jumped into a nearby room, listening in on a conversation.
"To think that kid found a secret entrance like that," Came the voice of Poison. "That could lead us to a very lucky find."
"I just hope that place isn't cursed or anything," Came the voice of The Prowler. "This world sure has some freaky magic."
"Well with any luck, we can use it to our advantage, and crush those heroes," Poison said.
"If we're lucky," The Prowler said. "Anyway, I gotta head to the Dragon Lair and find some stuff to pawn off. I might be able to get The Tinkerer of my world to cut a deal with me regarding some much needed upgrades. I have a Spider to take down."
"Isn't Spider-Man dead?" Poison asked.
"The one of this world, but I'm after the one that came here from my world," The Prowler said.
"...Oh right, there's some skinnier Spider-Man in a black suit," Poison said.
"Things are personal between the two of us, so I'd rather be the one to take him down," The Prowler said.
"Fine by me," Poison said. "I just need to finish getting all the weapons I need to bring the Mad Gear gang into power. I should try meeting up with Hugo and Abigail, and lead our boys on an assault over Metro City."
"Need backup?" Prowler asked as he extended his electric claws.
"Sure, do this right, and we'll make you an honorary member of our gang," Poison said.
The two had long gone, to which Rumble came out of his hiding place with his friends.
"Magic huh?" Rumble said. "Better find it before those jerks use it for evil."
"Where could it be?" Smolder asked.
"Not sure, but we'll find it," Rumble said. "Come on."
As they searched the school for any sign of this magic, Sweetie Belle felt something strange. Her horn began glowing as she looked down toward a room.
"Hey, follow me," Sweetie Belle said.
Everyone joined the girl as they ran toward a library. They waited out front to make sure there was no potential danger. Ocellus had briefly transformed into a fly to search the area before coming back.
"The coast is clear," Ocellus said as everyone entered the room.
Despite her hopes, Sweetie Belle didn't find anything useful, much to her disappointment. "I was sure I felt something."
"Maybe there's still something around," Rumble said. "Check every corner."
The young heroes spread out, with Silverstream checking the ceiling, Smolder checking under some tables and Scootaloo moving some books, hoping one of them would activate some hidden passageway.
"Nothing's here," Smolder said. "Come on, let's try-"
"Wait up..." Rumble spotted a trap door nearby. "Look!"
Everyone walked up to the entrance, with Sweetie Belle feeling it out once again, "There's something down there."
"Come on then," Rumble said as he opened the trap door.
Everyone explored the area down below. It was dark, but fortunately Sweetie Belle was able to light a path with her horn. Ocellus was glowing as well, to the amazement of Gabby.
"Wow, you glow in the dark, Ocellus?" Gabby asked.
"Changelings glow when they feel love," Ocellus said, the girl blushing a bit. "Right now, I'm thinking about Sandbar."
"That's so cute!" Silverstream said. "Sandbar's supporting you even all the way out here. That is true love."
"I guess..." Ocellus bashfully said.
"Let's focus," Rumble said, then stopped in his tracks. "I hear something up ahead."
As they approached, they came across a secret meeting between villains, near what looked like giant roots.
"So...This was under the school this whole time?" Juri asked as she stood by Vergil, Cozy Glow, Aria and Martin Li.
"Seems like it," Martin Li said, using his naginata to slightly poke it. Suddenly some magical whiplash knocked his weapon back. "It's quite dangerous."
Vergil touched it with his sword, sensing a strong magical presence. "I can feel the power, but it's power we cannot weild."
"Should we get the bell?" Cozy Glow asked.
"Not yet, we don't know what this is capable of," Vergil said.
"I've felt this magic before..." Aria said. "Right around the time of the Plunderseeds."
"...Come to think of it, so have I," Martin Li said. "The magic here was strong enough to overpower Discord's magic."
"We need to seal this place off then," Juri said. "And find the root of the problem."
"This is the root though," Cozy Glow said.
"You know what I mean you little smart-ass," Juri said as Aria held Cozy Glow close.
"What is this the root of anyway?" Aria asked. "It looks like it's connected to some tree."
"The answer may lie in The Everfree Forest," Martin Li said. "We must find the cause, and exterminate it."
"Okay, well good luck with that," Cozy Glow said as she turned around.
"Where are you going?" Vergil asked.
"Back to my work," Cozy Glow said. "I'm trying to find Sandbar."
"Who?" Vergil asked.
"A boy she likes," Aria said. "He escaped with the other ponies."
"He is likely down south," Vergil said. "We've just finished seizing The Crystal Empire, along with Yakyakistan. None of the refugees were there, the only other place would be a remote area past the badlands dessert."
This revelation startled Rumble and the others.
"Are you certain?" Martin Li asked.
"Oh yeah, there's a place called Kludgetown where Spider-Man and Princess Luna fought some pirates," Cozy Glow said. "Then they crashed a ship into Las Pegasus, killing so many innocent ponies."
"That's likely where the refugees are then," Vergil said. "They must have been desperate."
"Then I will go to Kludgetown," Cozy Glow said. "I'll destroy the place, and bring Sandy home."
"You will remain here," Vergil said. "I will exterminate Kludgetown."
"Hey! Since when do I take orders from you!?" Cozy shouted. That earned her a sword near her neck.
"Do not try my patience," Vergil warned.
"Hey, back off!" Aria shouted as she pulled Cozy Glow away.
"Keep that child under control, or you will be joining that traitorous friend of yours," Vergil warned. "I will alert Wesker so we may dispose of this tree."
"If anything we'll go to Future Dragon World and ask Goku Black to destroy it," Juri said.
"We can't let that happen," Gabby said.
"Who's there!?" Vergil asked, startling the others.
"Smooth move, Gabby," Smolder scolded.
"Hey lay off, it was an accident," Rumble said.
"This goes beyond an accident!" Smolder shouted.
"Reveal yourselves!" Martin Li warned.
"...I'll keep their attention, you girls go," Rumble said.
"Are you nuts?" Silverstream asked. "I can't let you do that."
"Just go!" Rumble said.
"If you don't show up, we're going to you, and I can't promise if you'll live beyond that point," Juri said.
"Okay, okay...you got me," Rumble said as he stepped into view. "I surrender."
Cozy Glow's eyes widened in surprise, "Rumble?"
"Who's this supposed to be?" Aria asked.
"I'm...wait, you know who I am!" Rumble shouted. "You broke my wing a few weeks ago!"
"...I'm supposed to remember that?" Aria asked, much to Rumble's disbelief.
"Well, what about you!?" Rumble gestured to Martin Li. "You nearly sliced my wing off!"
"I do remember encountering a Pegasus," Martin Li said.
"Wow, you don't even remember the ponies you hurt," Rumble said. "Scumbags. For what you've done, you shall-"
Vergil dashed in to attack, but fortunately Sweetie Belle blocked the strike with a forcefield she quickly put up, though the power of the strike broke it immediately. "Run!"
"You!" Vergil shouted, then took a punch from the symbiote.
"Rumble!" Sweetie Belle saw that the boy was frozen in fear, to which she punched him on the arm, not too hard but enough to snap him out of it. "Let's go!"
"Uh, right!" Rumble said as he followed Sweetie Belle.
"After them! They might know where Sandy is!" Cozy Glow ordered as the others chased after the two.
"Sweetie Belle, I told you to run!" Rumble said.
"Good thing I didn't, Vergil nearly killed you!" Sweetie Belle made a sharp turn. "Over here!"
They hid down a path while the villains ran past them.
"Come on," Sweetie Belle led the boy out, though their presence was noticed by Juri.
"Hey wait, they're back this..." Juri said that everyone left, and opted to pursue them alone.
Rumble and Sweetie Belle ran further down the path, coming across the tree's roots once again.
"If memory serves me right, this is The Tree of Harmony," Rumble said. "It's connected to Twilight's friends in some way."
"The villains seemed afraid of it, you think it could come in handy against them?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"It may be our last hope," Rumble said. "If we can use the tree's powers-"
"Hold it!" Juri rushed in to strike, but Sweetie Belle managed to block the attack. "Oh look, Vega's little pet."
"Almost surprised he's not here, I figured he would have cheated death like Shocker did!" Sweetie Belle said as she fought back.
"You wouldn't be far off," Juri said. "Unfortunately, some of our allies just couldn't make it, Vega included. But don't worry, he may be back sooner than you expect."
"Fine by me, I owe him a beating!" Sweetie Belle said as she continued fighting Juri.
Meanwhile Scootaloo and the others were still trying to escape, the girl finding the trap door. "Not too much longer, let's-"
Suddenly Cozy Glow's magic beams flew past them as the villains got close.
"You're not getting away!" Cozy Glow shouted.
Smolder blasted some fire at the villains and kept running, unaware that Vergil leapt through with his sword out. The fire was not meant to do damage, rather it shielded them long enough for Smolder to create a smoke screen for an easy escape.
"Fools, I will not forget this," Vergil said.
Back with Juri, she continued attacking Sweetie Belle, getting a few strikes in that knocked her back. Fortunately Rumble rammed the woman, stumbling her long enough for Sweetie Belle to blast her down the pathway.
"We gotta run! She's too strong right now!" Rumble said as he helped Sweetie Belle along.
Juri came back, then took a quick look around, seeing that the two had escaped. "Morons, they're only delaying the inevitable."
Rumble had gotten Sweetie Belle far enough, keeping an ear out for any danger. So far, no sign of Juri, just like he wanted.
"Okay, I think we're...gah!" Rumble checked his wing, finding himself in pain. "Ramming her was a bad idea. She's tougher as a human too."
"Hey, let me check your wing," Sweetie Belle said as she looked over the appendage. "It actually looks like it's getting better, and...is this the strap you were working on?"
"Yeah, I don't know if it's ready," Rumble said. "I was hoping to find some place to test it out after this little mission."
"We'll get that chance soon," Sweetie Belle said. "Right now, we gotta make our escape."
"This is terrible..." Rumble lamented. "This should have been a big moment for me, to prove that I can be the hero Peter wanted. I figured if I couldn't fly, I'd just go after one of the leaders. Cozy Glow seemed easy enough. Aria would have been a nice bonus. But Vergil just had to be here too..."
"Well they are allies," Sweetie Belle said. "It's just bad luck."
"I almost died..." Rumble lamented. "Right when I was asserting my dominance too. All that shows is that they don't consider me a threat."
"All it shows is that villains fight dirty, so don't let your guard down," Sweetie Belle said. She then saw what looked like tears coming from the boy's eyes. "Rumble?" She heard some sniffling, which broke her heart. "Rumble..."
"Sorry, I shouldn't cry but..." Rumble wiped his eyes. "I really want to be better. After losing Peter, Twilight, Trixie, Thunderlane, Lightning Dust and Apple Bloom...I just have to avenge them somehow! I can't just take their deaths lying down!"
"You're not," Sweetie Belle said. "You're trying, but you're still learning. You can't expect to go against people of Vergil's caliber just yet." She wiped the tears from the boy's eyes, "Now stop crying, and let's just get the heck out of here already."
"Might be tough," Rumble said.
"I got this," Sweetie Belle blasted a hole above him, and used her symbiote to latch on and pull herself and Rumble up.
The two found themselves in the Everfree Forest, near the Tree of Friendship itself. Sweetie Belle used her magic to seal up the entrance to the best of her ability.
"That should cover it," Sweetie Belle said. She turned around and spotted the tree in all it's glory. Her eyes sparkled at the sight as she and Rumble admired it.
Rumble couldn't believe just how wonderous the tree was. He could almost hear it calling to him. Sweetie Belle stood by his side, feeling the same sense of satisfaction.
"It's beautiful, huh?" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah..." Rumble turned to the girl, noticing how the sparkles bounce off her emerald eyes. Much as he missed Apple Bloom, he could not deny Sweetie Belle's beauty, both inside and out. "Hey, Sweetie Belle?"
"Yeah?" Sweetie Belle replied.
"Thanks...for being there for me," Rumble said. "After losing Apple Bloom, you really stepped up. You're watching over me, and taking care of my son. You didn't have to but.."
"Hey," Sweetie Belle caressed Rumble's back. "Apple Bloom was my best friend. I want nothing more than to protect the ones she loved. I know you miss her dearly,. I do too of course, I loved her. I still love her, and I know you love her."
"I do..." Rumble said.
"I'll be by your side for as long as you need me to," Sweetie Belle said as she gently turned Rumble to face her. "Not just for her, but for you too. I...I love you."
Rumble had no immediate response; he was just lost in the moment as he gazed at the girl's beauty. For a brief moment, it felt like he was looking at Apple Bloom. His heart pounded and his body began to move on instinct.
In a moment, Rumble had brought Sweetie Belle in for a deep kiss, taking her by surprise. Part of her felt almost guilty while another part fully accepted the embrace.
Rumble deepened the kiss as the two fell to the ground. This wasn't anything simple, this kiss had passion behind it.
The symbiote felt something was about to happen, and it left Sweetie Belle's being for the moment as she pulled Rumble closer, allowing him to do as he pleased.
"I miss you...Apple Bloom..." Those thoughts rang through Rumble's mind as his body took complete control. It craved affection, and it went with the one most recipient to it.
Deep down, Rumble feared however, that this may be a big mistake, one he has fully committed to.
With Wesker, while he along with Doom and Vomi remained in Asgard, they still had some contact with the outside world, specifically Marvel Earth.
"Do you have her contact?" Wesker asked.
"Yes..." Doom said as he turned to a mini-portal device to speak with the Marvel world.
"Can this woman help us?" Vomi asked.
"She is a powerful Psychic, with a knack for Hellfire, so to speak," Wesker said.
"Come in...Emma Frost, do you read me?" Doom asked.
Within her home, Emma Frost had received a message from the Latverian Dictator. "Doctor Doom?"
"There you are," Doom said. "It has been a quite a long time."
"Yes, it has been," Emma said. "You have left quite a mark recently. You and a few friends of yours."
"I would put them as more...accomplices than actual friendship," Doom said.
"Of course, you've never been one to play nice with others, unless it was all business," Emma teased. "Even then, you can be quite unpredictable."
"Doom, who is this?" Vomi asked, which got Emma's attention.
"Speaking of accomplices," Emma said. "Who do we have here?"
"This is Vomi, a scientist from another dimension," Doom explained.
"Hey..." Vomi greeted.
"And this...is Albert Wesker," Doom introduced as he gestured to the man.
"Albert Wesker? As in the same one from Capcom?" Emma asked. "So, another team up? He must be your favorite if you're willing to work with him again."
"My reputation precedes me," Wesker said. "Of course, I know a lot about you madam. Your abilities can rival even that of Professor Charles Xavier."
"How flattering of a comparison," Emma said in an almost teasing tone.
"I wish to clarify that Wesker is not my favorite of anything," Doom said. "He is merely the least incompetent of my allies."
"Doom, you didn't answer me," Vomi said. "Who is this woman?"
"This is Emma Frost, The White Queen of the Hellfire Club," Doom introduced.
"Oh, that's what Wesker meant by 'Hellfire'," Vomi said. "I expected something a little more interesting though."
"Now that the introductions are out of the way, what do you need from me, Victor?" Emma asked.
"I believe Spider-Man is somewhere in your world," Doom said. "I need you to locate him and send his coordinates to myself, so I may launch a plan to finish him off."
"Hm, interesting," Emma said. "What's in it for me?"
"Name your price," Doom said.
"Well, tell me, why do you want Spider-Man dead?" Emma asked. "Quite frankly, I imagined you would ask me to locate Reed Richards for you."
"I can find Richards on my own," Doom said. "I just need you to locate Spider-Man, he is a liability to my grand plan."
"Grand Plan huh?" Emma asked. "If you let me into your club, perhaps I will be more than willing to offer my services for much longer."
"This plan's pretty big, can you handle it?" Vomi asked.
"Try me," Emma said.
"...Come to this world, and we will make a deal," Doom said.
"Very well then," Emma said.
Doom activated a portal, which allowed Emma Frost easier access to Equestria. Using the bell to ensure she remained human, the woman had stepped into the new world.
"Well, I'm here," Emma said.
"Good, now locate Spider-Man for us," Vomi said.
"Not so fast," Emma turned to Doom. "I want to know everything."
"Kind of foolish to assume you're in any position of leverage," Vomi said. "You're in our domain and-"
Suddenly the woman felt some pain in her head, courtesy of Emma raising her hand, "You don't think I am that foolish, are you?"
"What's going...GAH!" Vomi held her head in pain as she angrily glared at the telepath. "Release me, or die!"
"Say please, dear," Emma teased.
Vomi's eyes began to turn black and red as she struggled to aim her index and middle fingers while charging some energy.
"Enough, release her!" Doom ordered. "I will tell you what you need to know, but then you will locate Spider-Man!"
"Very well," Emma said as she released Vomi.
Before anything could continue, Wesker managed to calm the woman down, "Do not do anything rash, we need her alive for the time being."
"...Very well," Vomi said as her eyes went back to normal. "If she tries that again though, I'm going to help myself to a snack."
Wesker knew what that meant, and made sure to keep an eye on both ladies while Doom began explaining the situation.
"Come take a seat, there is much I should catch you up on," Doom said.
"Sounds intriguing," Emma said as she went to join Doom while taking in the sights. "I do love your castle."
"It is not mine, I am...House Sitting...so to speak," Doom said. "This is Loki's castle in New Asgard."
"Loki rules New Asgard?" Emma asked. "What of Thor?"
"Loki pursues him," Doom said. "Now, let us talk."
Later, Peter and his friends had gone to Manhattan, opting to take a train into the city than drive like they did through Queens. The only one not joining being Sunset Shimmer, who had gone somewhere with Gwen.
Trixie was not too fond of the subway however, the floors were sticky and the place smelled like the sewers. "Ugh, why is the city so dirty?"
"That's New York for you," Peter said as he and the others disembarked.
"I hate it..." Trixie said. "Why couldn't we drive again?"
"Because driving through New York is a terrible idea that I fortunately managed to talk Peter out of," Shocker said.
"It wouldn't have been that bad," Peter insisted.
"Do you want to spend hours looking for parking!?" Shocker pointed out.
"Which Station are we at?" Rogue asked.
"Penn Station," Peter said as he led the others through. "Come on, I have something to show all of you."
Mayday nervously looked around as she walked through the crowd. There were so many more people here than in Queens. She started to feel surrounded and trapped, and nearly began panicking.
Fortunately she felt Franklin grabbing her by the hand. "I got you, don't worry."
Mayday looked almost surprised, but started to feel at ease as she allowed Franklin to navigate her through the subway.
With everyone together, they walked up the stairs where the Equestrians feasted their eyes on something amazing.
"Whoa...big building..." Autumn Blaze said.
"That...my friends...is the prize of New York," Peter said as he gestured to the Fifth Avenue Monument. "The Empire State Building!"
"Wow...it looks better than ever," Twilight said.
"Man...being here makes me so nostalgic," Peter said. "Come on! If we make a left from here, we should hit Times Square."
Peter led everyone up and out as they walked through the busy New York City streets. Starlight looked amazed, Autumn Blaze was super excited as usual, and Apple Bloom was shown to be her usual eager self, ready to explore a new area.
Mayday stayed close to Franklin, nervously clutching her shirt as he gently led her though the city.
Peter looked back, keeping an extra eye on his daughter, but trusting Franklin to keep her calm. He looked around to ensure things were fine. Much as he liked the city, it was not always a pleasant place. Mayday just needed to take her mind off of things.
"Put your music on, it might help," Franklin said.
"Okay..." Mayday put her earphones in and pressed play on the Zune.
She glanced back at Franklin, his reassuring smile helping alleviate the mood as she took in the sights of the amazing city.
"This place reminds me of Manehattan," Lightning Dust said.
"Yeah, somehow it's busier though," Thunderlane said, then heard some honking and yelling. "But still the same commotion."
"Stay off the streets, New Yorkers can't drive for shit sometimes," Shocker said.
Peter took a look around, spotting construction sites almost everywhere, "Guess Damage Control isn't done cleaning up. I can only imagine what this place was like just a week ago."
"Some places aren't even open yet," Twilight pointed out, gesturing to a coffee shop. "I hope the owners are alright?"
"One more thing for those guys to pay for," Peter said.
Celestia nervously looked around, just seeing all the poverty was putting her on edge. Not to mention the trash and the graffiti.
As she crossed the streets with the others, a car nearly ran her over as it turned red at the light.
"Watch where you're driving!" Shocker shouted as he helped Celestia across. "I told you New Yorkers suck at driving."
"That person seemed to be in a hurry," Celestia said.
"Everyone's in a hurry," Shocker said. "Anyway, we're almost at Times Square. Stay close and don't talk to anyone."
"Any reason?" Celestia asked.
"Just trust me, New Yorkers can be sneaky," Shocker said. "There's a reason Peter had to be a superhero here."
"Okay..." Celestia said as she stuck close to the group.
Everyone started passing by Broadway, Peter gesturing to all the interesting shows on display. "Does anyone like Cats?"
"Wow, that child looks Miserable," Trixie said.
"Holy wow! Is that a Phantom!? Here!?" Autumn Blaze excitedly asked.
"Genies and Magic Lamps!?" Trixie asked. "How exotic!"
Mayday found one that caught her eye, "Frankie, it's The Lion King!"
"Oh yeah, that one's also on Broadway," Franklin said. "How about I bring you here? My treat. I'll even get you front row seats."
"Franklin, those tickets can cost up to $500," Peter reminded.
"So? My family's rich," Franklin said. "Maybe we're not as rich as Tony Stark, but my father's a genius scientist and a college professor."
"Your parents may be rich, but I doubt you are," Peter said. "Unless you have good allowance or something."
"Besides, Front Row is overrated," Shocker said.
"And ah don't think Mayday would want to be that close to the action," Rogue said.
"...Fine, but I'll come up with something," Franklin said.
"It's fine, you don't have to," Mayday said.
"I want to though," Franklin said,
"Franklin, start small," Peter said. "Save Broadway for something serious."
Twilight noticed another show that caught her eye, "That seems like a Wizarding good time."
"Of course..." Shocker said.
"I bet I could be on Broadway, in fact I did a show here once," Peter said. "I wanted to make some money of my powers, so I demonstrated some cool abilities."
"That's marvelous Peter!" Trixie said. "So, did you make a lot of money?"
"...No, since my identity was secret, they couldn't give me a proper check," Peter lamented. "I lost out on so much money because of that."
"That's bogus," Shocker said.
"I take it this is when money problems were bad?" Starlight asked.
"I considered robbing banks once," Peter confessed. "I couldn't bring myself to do it though."
That took Starlight and everyone else by surprise as the woman was at a loss for words, "Wow..."
"Damn Spidey, you and I could have been buddies much sooner," Shocker said.
"Hey, be careful talking about this," Sonata said. "Also, is it okay for you two to be walking around like this? What if someone recognizes you?"
"They won't," Shocker said. "I usually hide my face well."
"And I doubt anyone's going to recognize me," Peter said.
"Parker!" Came a familiar voice.
"Oh...no way..." Peter turned around and came across his old boss. "Jameson!?"
"Parker!" Jameson ran over to shake the boy's hand. "Good to see you! It's been years!"
"Jameson...what are you...when did you...?" Peter couldn't find the words. "Huh!?"
"You sound surprised, makes sense, why I haven't seen you in like...ten years," Jameson rubbed his chin. "Or maybe five, did I see you when those creeps from that Cup Can world showed up?"
"You mean Capcom?" Peter asked.
"Cup Can, Capcom, same thing," Jameson said. He then noticed Twilight, "Oh, it's you."
"Good day to you, Johan," Twilight greeted. "How's business?"
"Bad right now, the place got trashed a few weeks ago by that lunatic Doctor Doom and that freakish robot Ultron," Jameson said. "But New York has the bets insurance against evil villains, so I should be back up and running in a week."
"That's great," Twilight said.
"So..." Jameson turned to Peter. "Back again huh? On vacation or something?"
"Kind of," Peter said. "I wanted to show New York to my friends and daughter."
"Daughter?" Jameson asked.
"She's right there," Peter said, gesturing to the girl. "Mr. Jameson, meet my daughter. Mayday."
Mayday clutched onto Franklin, unsure about greeting this man, especially after recognizing his name.
"Mayday? Just like your aunt," Jameson said as he glanced at the girl.
"Yeah, I named Mayday after her," Peter said.
"I see..." Jameson approached the girl, but she stepped back and behind Franklin. "Uh...guess she's shy."
"I do apologize, it takes a while for her to warm up to strangers," Twilight said. She turned to her daughter, "Mayday, don't be rude, say hello."
Mayday shook her head while still glaring at Jameson.
"Mayday, you're not being proper," Peter said.
"It's fine," Jameson said. "I'm a father too, so I know what it's like when your kid's shy."
"She still needs to overcome that, or at least greet you once," Peter said.
"It happens," Jameson said. "Why, I remember-"
"You..." Mayday said, getting Jameson's attention. "You said mean things..."
"Huh?" Jameson replied, but it didn't take him long to figure it out. "Ooooh..."
"You said mean things about my daddy," Mayday said, still hiding behind Franklin. "I don't trust you, mister. Not after how terrible you've been."
"Mayday!" Twilight scolded. "That is not-"
"It's okay, I take it she knows about The Daily Bugle?" Jameson asked.
"Yes, but I also told her that people change," Peter said. "She really should not be so quick to judge you."
"Hey I've been pretty judgmental too, that's how I made a living," Jameson said. "Look, it's fine. The way I see it, your daughter loves you so much that anyone who badmouths you must be a terrible person. It's cute in its own way, and your daughter's cute. Something tells me you raised her well."
"I did my best," Peter said.
"Well Peter, you've always been a good kid, so I don't doubt you raised a good kid yourself," Jameson said. "Anyway I gotta get going. How's your aunt doing by the way?"
"...She recently passed away," Peter confirmed.
"Oh...geez..." Jameson felt an immense amount of pity for the hero. "I'm...I'm very sorry to hear that. I know she meant a lot to you. She was practically your mother."
"Thanks...it's a process, but I'm healing from it," Peter said.
"Well, if you need someone to talk to, come by the old Bugle," Jameson offered. "I know loss isn't easy. Just don't push yourself too hard, okay kid?"
"Don't worry, everyone warns me about that," Peter said,
"Good, you're a good kid, but you got a hard head," Jameson said, then turned to his wife. "Keep an eye on him."
"I will," Twilight said.
"Well, it was nice to meet you Mr. Peter's Old Boss," Autumn Blaze said.
"Call me 'Jonah'," the man said. "It was nice meeting you all too. I gotta get back to my building. If you're around, come find me."
"Bye sir," Peter said with the others as Jameson left.
"Wow, he was nicer than I expected," Trixie said.
"Guess he mellowed with age," Starlight said.
Mayday still felt unsure about Jameson, but felt worried when her father glared at her.
"Mayday...I know you don't trust him, but you have to be give people more of a chance," Peter said. "Just like you did for Herman."
"Herman saved Sonata because she saved," Mayday said. "They proved they're good people. That old guy did not."
"Mayday!" Peter scolded.
"Why don't we talk about this later," Starlight said. "Let's just keep exploring."
"And be careful, we don't want anyone else recognizing Peter," Apple Bloom said. "Otherwise we'll attract trouble."
"We'll be careful," Peter said. "Now let's go."
Franklin turned to Mayday to ensure she was calm enough to walk, "Are you ready?"
"Y-yeah," Mayday said.
"It's so cute how much you two like each other," Apple Bloom said. "Reminds me of how caring Rumble can be."
"Do you miss him?" Mayday asked.
"Of course, but it sounds like our friends know we're alive, so at least he's not grieving mah death," Apple Bloom said. "Ah bet he just can't wait to see me again."
"Yeah, he'll be so happy," Mayday said. "Well, let's go."
"I hope no one recognizes us again," Franklin said.
"Let's try not to jinx it," Apple Bloom said.
Unfortunately, a few others had recognized Peter, including a strange man who dipped into an ally to put on a red-colored hood.
"This is my lucky day..." The man known as Parker Robbins said as he generated some magic in his hands.
Meanwhile another man grabbed his phone and made a call, "Get me Fisk."
In a large tower, a big, hulking man was seen talking on the phone. "That so? Well then, this is a surprise. Yes...I will plan accordingly. Good day to you." The Kingpin, Wilson Fisk had placed his phone down as he smiled deviously, "So, the Spider has returned. For years he's trapped many flies, but how will he do against a Beetle I wonder?"
Elsewhere, Sunset and Gwen were gathered in front of some portals along with Julia, Ryu, Cloud, Chris, Dante, Morrigan, Sonic, Goku, Kratos, Cole, Mega Man, Leonardo, Bayonetta, Terry and Jin.
"So, this is it, we're going across the multiverse then?" Sunset asked.
"Yes, we'll split into teams," Julia said. "There are seventeen of us, so we'll need to figure out how to divide that evenly."
"That seems to be at least eight per group," Gwen said. "Who gets the extra member?"
"Does it matter? We're recruiting others," Cloud said.
"Yeah, with luck, we'll have more members," Cole said.
"Don't worry, I did notice that we were short one, so I called a buddy over," Gwen said as she gestured to Miles Morales.
"You better not be exploring the multiverse without me, that's my whole specialty," Miles said.
"It's your only specialty right now," Gwen said. "Try not to make it too much of a habit, or you'll get stale."
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Miles asked.
Sunset felt a bit self-conscious, knowing she's no different. "Okay, so that's nine per team. Who leads the teams?"
"You lead one team, I'll lead the other," Julia said. "Since you're closer with Capcom than I am, you may have everyone present."
"So...I get Ryu, Chris, Dante, Mega Man and Morrigan," Sunset said.
"Just like it should be," Dante said. "Too bad Joe's not here."
"Joe's defending our world with Chun-Li, Spencer, Hiryu and Amaterasu at the moment," Ryu said. "Their plight is much more important."
"Meanwhile, I do hope Cammy is contacting Superman," Morrigan said.
"That needs to be done carefully," Chris said. "We still don't know if guys like Lex Luthor are aiming to come here or not, and we'd rather not give him or anyone else any ideas."
"It'll happen, it's practically inevitable," Dante said. "If not them, then who knows who else? We've seen guys like Legolas, Jack Sparrow and Spawn. Even those Jedi. Anything's possible."
"Damn, imagine having to fight Darth Vader," Miles said.
"Which is why we must be careful and prevent that possibility," Julia said. "There's very powerful beings across the multiverse, beings that put our current enemies to shame. Don't mess this up!"
"We'll get this under control, and fast," Sonic said. "Honestly, I kind of wish I was back home and dealing with those Skrulls."
"Don't worry, Peni's there," Miles reassured. "She wanted to help your buddy Tails and your friend Sally fend off that Eggman guy. Some group called The Phantom Thieves are helping too."
"I know them, they're good at what they do, especially Joker," Sonic said.
"Remind me, he's not related to that clown, right?" Miles asked.
"No relation, just a similar name," Sonic confirmed. "Alright, let's do what we gotta do."
"Sonic, mind joining me?" Sunset asked.
"You got it," Sonic said.
"You too Cloud," Sunset said.
"Picking Sonic before me?" Cloud mocked. "I'm hurt."
"Nothing wrong with being second best," Sonic teased, holding his fist out for a fist bump with Cloud.
"To you, I suppose not," Cloud said.
"Hey Cloud, how are things with your home?" Julia asked.
"Noctis and his Royal Guard are teaming with The Luminary and his companions to play defense," Cloud said. "Tidus, Squall and Lightning are also there. Oh, there's a new guy there named Clive. He's helping too."
"You also got new guys?" Dante asked. "That's good. Right now, we got some newbies helping too, including a kid named Jamie."
"He's a newer Street Fighter" Ryu said. "Very cocky, but he can back it up. Same with other fighters, like Manon and Lily."
"Think Kimberly has a chance?" Morrigan asked.
"As long as she doesn't listen to Luke," Chris said. "Still, Bison is said to have a new ally somewhere in our world, a man named JP."
"We'll stop him like all the others," Mega Man said. "We're not giving up."
"Yeah, of course not," Dante said.
"We ran into a girl named Eve," Cole said. "She kind of reminds me of that 2B chick from Cloud's world."
"Is she curvy too?" Dante asked.
"...Seriously!?" Chris asked in disbelief, a sentiment shared by everyone else.
"She...she is," Cole admitted. "Not the main point though, she knows how to fight."
"That's good, not saying otherwise," Dante said.
"Well, our other boys are helping too," Cole said. "Sly and his gang, Jak and Daxter are there, Ratchet showed up with Clank and some girl named Rivet. Our world's got some good defenders."
"Which means we must be successful, and not let their efforts go to waste," Kratos said.
"Yeah, we got this," Cole said. "Anyway, keep picking your team Sunset."
"Right, so I also pick Gwen," Sunset confirmed. "I think that's it, no one else is-"
"Hey, wait up!" Came the voice of Yuri Lowell as he ran over with Viewtiful Joe.
"Joe, what are you doing here?" Dante asked. "Weren't you with Chun-Li?"
"She asked me to check on you guys," Joe said. "Anyway, that Genis kid is there with his buddy Lloyd. They got this under control."
"I came along with him," Yuri explained. "My friends along with some newbies are helping."
"Newbies?" Jin asked.
"Some guy with an Iron Mask showed up with a pink haired friend," Yuri said. "Some old guy's there too, he said he knows you."
"...It's not Heihachi, is it?" Jin asked.
"No, he had some sunglasses and a weird sword," Yuri said. "He was there with some other girl."
"She had a major coffee addiction," Joe said. "I think she and the old guy mentioned something about some girl that knew Jin's family."
"What girl exactly?" Jin asked.
"I don't know, the old guy spoke mostly French, and that new girl spoke mostly Spanish," Joe said. "That other girl I think is Japanese."
"...I hope it's not Reina," Jin shook it off. "Can't be helped now."
"Joe, mind coming with me then?" Sunset asked. "We're going to get more help."
"Sounds good to me," Joe said.
"Alright, so anyone not with Sunset is with me," Julia said. "That includes you too, Yuri."
"Uh, sure," Yuri said.
"Welcome to our club," Cole said. "We're out of jackets though, sorry."
"I've had enough parting gifts from old clubs of mine anyway," Yuri commented.
Julia activated a portal, "This should take us to where All Might is."
"All Might, you mean that big, buff, blonde guy?" Goku asked.
"The very same," Julia said. "He did want to help."
"Alright," Goku said as his mind wandered. "How long will this take? I kind of want to get back to my world. Things aren't going well with Trunks, and we're not having an easy time against Goku Black."
"Is he that powerful?" Cole asked.
"He's definitely trouble, and he's got allies helping him too," Goku said. "Luckily, I got my son to help fight."
"Is he good?" Julia asked.
"Yeah...he is," Goku said.
Gohan was indeed fighting Goku Black in the Dragon World, though the fight was far from easy, Gohan was not backing down.
Dormammu wished to help, but he was blocked off by Ben Grimm, who was more than ready to pummel the monster, or die trying.
"Does it worry you?" Black asked his opponent. "Fighting someone who's the spitting image of your father?"
"I've had some experience," Gohan said as he powered up. "Regardless, you're still not my dad! Just an enemy to defeat!"
"Well...you're half right," Black said as he clashed with Gohan.
Julia had successfully led her team into All Might's world while Sunset brought her team to another world.
"Okay, so there's a list, correct?" Sunset asked.
"Yes, Julia's off to find All Might, Geralt, Luke Skywalker, Alex Mercer and Spawn," Gwen said. "Who's on your list?"
"Let's see..." Sunset read some names. "Lara Croft, Shantae, Link, Mario and-"
"Watch out!" Dante said as he saw some explosions in the distance, and some people in grey suits flying.
Sunset looked on in disbelief. Whoever these people were, they were ruthless, but they were at least opposed, especially by a girl in pink.
"Hey, Sunset...who was last on the list again?" Gwen asked.
Sunset looked up and uttered one word, "Mark..."
In the air, the hero who called himself Invincible was preparing for his own fight.
The troubles across the multiverse were still growing, as what was once a barely contained threat was now growing to concerning lengths.
