Within his office, The Kingpin had turned to the T.V., as video footage of the fight between Peter and The Beetle was underway.
"Looks like he found his target, as expected," Fisk said as he gripped his cane. "Spider-Man, I never thought I'd see you again. You left me with quite the mess I must admit. Even when you're not here, you somehow maintain a bothersome presence. I will personally make sure you never come back."
Within the streets on New York City, Peter is engaging The Beetle above ground. While Beetle flew away to keep his distance and blasting at the hero, Peter closed the gap by running in and zipping in for a kick to his chest.
Beetle shook it off and flew in to attack by ramming into Peter and trying to slam him against a truck. Peter managed to skid to a stop and punched Beetle through the streets.
"Who sent you!?" Peter shouted as he leapt in to kick Beetle again. "Was it Doom!? Wesker!?"
"You don't need to know," Beetle said as he aimed a laser wrist gun and fired at Peter, to which the hero back flipped away.
"Hey, finally got a word out of you!" Peter said as he dashed in for another punch, just before Beetle flew upwards. "This is going to be a pain."
Peter then heard some fighting from nearby. Shocker was seen firing his vibration guns at The Hood, the man quickly running for cover, but not without sending some blasts of his own.
"The Hood? Wait, did he hire Beetle!?" Peter asked. Suddenly he saw a bomb next to him, the hero barely dodging out of the way and landing against the wall. "Crap! That almost got me!"
Beetle flew in to attack again but Peter knocked him out of the way, then focused on the fight nearby.
"I gotta stop Robbins," Peter aimed his webbing, but Beetle flew in once again to attack, with Peter barely dodging. "Hey, is that your boss over there!?" Peter gestured to The Hood. "Did he hire you!?"
"...This is troubling," Beetle muttered.
"Hey! Speak up!" Peter said. "Are you working with The Hood!?"
Hearing his alter ego called caught The Hood's attention as the gangster turned to face Peter. "Spider-Man!"
He immediately blasted his nemesis with magic, but was trapped under a forcefield, courtesy of Twilight.
"I'm not letting you escape!" Twilight warned.
Beetle quickly took a moment to call his actual boss, "Fisk, we have a problem. Parker Robbins is here too, I think he's after Spider-Man."
"Robbins!?" Fisk shouted as he angrily slammed his fist on his desk, partially breaking it. "Damn, I was not expecting competition. Just keep Spider-Man busy and don't let Robbins try anything sneaky!"
"It looks like Spider-Man's wife is busy containing him," Beetle said. "Honestly, it may be smarter to work with him for now."
"Are you nuts!? You can't trust him," Fisk said.
"Maybe not, but it's better than being outnumbered," The Beetle said. "At least with him-"
"Who are you talking to!?" Peter zipped in to tackle The Beetle, knocking him out of the air.
"Peter!" Twilight called in worry, then turned to her friends. "Go help Peter! I'll deal with this guy!"
"Are you sure?" Trixie asked.
"Yeah, are you sure?" The Hood sadistically asked. "I just might escape, are you willing to take that chance?"
"He won't," Shocker said as he walked over. "This guy's got strong magic, but I doubt it's anywhere near your level, Twilight."
"I'm disappointed in you, Shocker," The Hood taunted. "To think you'd sell out like this."
"Oh shut up, you're the one who got so easily trapped despite talking such a big game," Shocker said. "Now talk, I know you have some info about The Beetle. Is he working with you or someone else?"
"You can ask him yourself," The Hood said. "He and Spider-Man are coming this way."
"Huh?" Shocker then got knocked over by Peter, who had been thrown by The Beetle.
The flying villain landed near the Equestrians and emitted a powerful shockwave that sent them all flying back, this freeing The Hood from Twilight's spell.
"Much appreciated," The Hood said as he dusted himself off.
"You can pay me back by keeping these fools away from me and my target," The Beetle said.
"Hey now, did no one ever teach you to share?" The Hood taunted.
"Just fight," Beetle said as he aimed his weapons.
Thunderlane flew over to attack, dodging Beetle's lasers, but taking a blast from The Hood instead.
Twilight stood up to attack, but Beetle was quick to charge at her and send her crashing through a building.
Peter stood up, immediately scouting the area for his foes. "Where'd they go!?"
"There's one!" Shocker said while gesturing to The Hood.
The magical gangster leader took note of Spider-Man and generated some magic in an attempt to blast him.
Peter leapt over and flipped to kick The Hood in the chest, sending the villain flying back. The villain rolled through and began firing from his guns.
Peter managed to dodge each attack as he zig zagged and landed a blow on The Hood, uppercutting the villain and sending him into the air. Peter then webbed him from below and slammed him down on a truck.
"Spidey!" Shocker ran over to the boy. "I got this, go and help Twilight!"
Suddenly Beetle was sent flying through some walls nearby.
"I'm thinking she could help herself," Peter said as Twilight flew from the building.
The Princess of Friendship put up a quick shield to fend off The Beetle's attacks as she landed another punch on the villain.
Beetle shook it off and sent some lasers at Twilight, but she teleported behind Beetle and blasted him, sending him flying right back out.
Beetle stood up to attack but Peter was quick to land a kick that sent him toward Starlight, just as she too blasted Beetle, sending him flying toward Rogue as she delivered a punch to send the villain toward Shocker as he blasted the mercenary against a nearby light pole.
"Wow, great combo game," Peter said.
"Got that right!" Autumn Blaze cheered as she walked over to The Beetle. "Alright tough guy, time to talk! Who sent you!?"
The Beetle had no response, other than trying to regain his bearings.
"It might be easier to get this man to a police station or something, he can be interrogated there," Trixie pointed out. "Right now, we should head back to the library and make sure Mayday and Franklin are okay."
"They should be with Apple Bloom and Celestia. I hope they're-" Peter's Spider-Sense went off as he turned to block an incoming gunshot from The Hood with his arm.
"I'm not done yet!" The Hood said as he aimed his gun once again at Peter, though just before firing, he focused his attention on Autumn Blaze and pulled the trigger.
"I got you!" Peter pulled the girl to safety, but this only allowed The Hood to cheap shot Peter with a magical blast.
"Peter!" Autumn Blaze angrily turned toward The Hood. "That's my friend you're hurting!"
She slowly began to transform into her more feral state, taking The Hood by surprise as she charged at her foe and crashed the two through a truck.
It was around this time that some police cars began to arrive on the scene with several officers rushing toward the group with their guns aimed.
"NYPD! Everyone, hands behind their heads and on the ground! Now!"
"Crap, it's the fuzz..." Shocker lamented.
"It's fine, they can arrest these men," Twilight said.
"They might want to arrest me too," Shocker said. "I am one of New York's most dangerous thugs."
"Don't worry," Sonata said as she pat Shocker on the back. "You won't go in alone; I'll go with you. Then, we'll bust out later!"
"Let's not talk like that," Twilight said.
"I said on the ground! Now!" The cop shouted.
"Officer, wait!" Peter called. "It's me! Spider-Man!"
"Spider-Man?"
"Yeah! I know I don't have my mask, the fight was pretty sudden," Peter said as he reached into his pocket. "But I can show you-"
"Don't move!" The cop warned as he aimed his gun.
"Right, probably shouldn't reach into my pocket like that..." Peter lamented.
"Let him go!" Came a woman's voice. "That is Spider-Man!"
"Are you sure?" The cop asked.
"I've seen his face a few times," The woman stepped into view. "At least after the whole incident with The Green Goblin."
"Do I know you?" Peter asked.
"I am Officer Yuriko Watanabe," The woman said. "I know a lot about you, Peter Benjamin Parker."
"Uh, wow, I'm flattered," Peter said. "I think so at least, I usually get antsy when officials of any type know who I am."
"Don't worry, I'm not one of those who call you a menace," Yuriko said. "Hardly anyone does these days, thanks to J. Jonah Jameson."
"Funny, I ran into him earlier, he definitely changed his tune about me," Peter said.
"I gotta say, I didn't expect to see you here, no one did," Yuriko turned her attention to The Beetle. "But it definitely has its advantages."
Suddenly The Hood was thrown near the cops as a still angry Autumn Blaze stepped out of the trailer. "I'm not done with you yet!"
"Autumn! Dial it back!" Peter called. "We've got company!"
"Huh?" Autumn Blaze noticed all of the cops, the girl calming herself out of her Nirik state. "Uh...hi?"
"You brought some interesting friends," Yuriko said. "Let's head down to the station, we should talk more."
"Sure," Peter turned toward The Beetle. "Let me just-"
Suddenly the crook had flown in and grabbed Trixie, holding her high in the air as he aimed his lasers at her head. "No one move!"
"Crap! Not good!" Peter said as he and his friends looked ready for anything.
"Seriously!? Why am I the hostage!?" Trixie asked in annoyance.
"Bad luck," The Beetle said. "You're coming with me to meet my boss."
"Oh, finally going to come clean?" Trixie taunted.
"Watch your tone, or I'll finish you off right now," The Beetle warned before flying off.
"NO!" Peter immediately pursued the villain. "Trixie!"
"We gotta help!" Lightning Dust said as she spread her wings and flew off alongside Thunderlane.
"I'm right behind ya!" Rogue said as she also followed.
Yuriko grabbed her radio, "This is officer Watanabe! I need all available units within Midtown available, stat! We have a hostage situation! The Beetle has kidnapped a woman and is flying south of my location!"
"Copy that!" a voice was heard saying.
Yuriko focused her attention on The Hood, "All units, arrest that man!"
"I don't think so," The Hood attempted to blast the officers, but Twilight was quick to place a forcefield around them.
"I got you!" Twilight said, then took a blast of her own from The Hood.
"And I have you, Mrs. Spider-Man!" The Hood taunted as he went to strike again.
This time, Sonata ran in and used a high-pitched scream to briefly deafen The Hood while Shocker rushed over with a blast that sent his foe flying.
"Wow, what an impressive bunch," Yuri took note of Shocker. "Something about him seems familiar though."
Twilight used her magic to restrain The Hood as she walked toward the villain, "Talk! Were you and that Beetle creature working together!?"
"Only to even the odds," The Hood said. "Clearly I have underestimated you lot."
"Who are you working for then!?" Twilight asked.
"I work for myself," The Hood said. "The Beetle works for another."
"Who exactly!?" Twilight asked.
"The Kingpin," Yuriko said, this getting Twilight's attention.
"The Kingpin? You mean Wilson Fisk?" Twilight asked.
"There have been reports that The Beetle, also known by his true name, Abner Jenkins, has been sighted with The Kingpin," Yuriko said. "Ever since Martin Li disappeared, the three remaining crime groups of New York began a power struggle, which included Parker Robbins here."
"I will admit, Kingpin and Hammerhead gave me more trouble than I would have liked," The Hood said. "Without Mr. Negative though, the playing field vastly shifted in my favor."
"Well you should know that Martin Li is alive and well, and causing trouble elsewhere," Twilight said. "But we can get to that another time. Let's get this man to jail, then help my husband rescue our friend."
"Husband? Come to think of it, Robbins here called you 'Mrs. Spider-Man'," Yuriko said. "Are you two married?"
"Yes, and our daughter is back in the New York Public Library with some friends of ours," Twilight said. "If you can get some cops over to the library and look for Mayday Parker, please do. I need to make sure she's safe."
"Copy that," Yuriko said. "All units, with me!"
"Yes ma'am!" The cop said.
"By the way," Yuriko gestured to Herman. "Is that Shocker?"
Twilight glanced at the former villain, who merely shrugged the situation off, "He is...but he's on our side. You're not going to arrest him, are you?"
"For now, no," Yuriko said. "But if there's anything on his files that can incriminate him, then I can't promise he won't face any jail time."
"Figures..." Shocker said. Sonata looked ready to attack the cops when Shocker grabbed her by the shoulder. "Don't do anything stupid."
"I'm not letting them arrest you," Sonata said.
"If you attack, you're going to make us both look worse," Shocker said. "Let Twilight handle this."
"Ugh, fine," Sonata said.
Meanwhile as The Beetle soared over the New York Skyline, Peter was seen closing in on his foe, ready and determined to take him down. "Beetle!"
The Beetle turned around and fired at Peter, with the hero dodging and propelling forward.
"Damn persistent Spider..." The Beetle flew faster, with Trixie looking almost sick.
"Can you please...dial it back..." Trixie urged.
Lightning Dust flew in closer, the girl getting right next to The Beetle and tried throwing a punch. The Beetle caught her fist and retaliated with a punch of his own that knocked Lightning Dust back.
He then started zapping at her, with the girl dodging each attack. Thunderlane flew in next to attack, but took a kick to the stomach.
The Beetle stopped midflight to once again threaten Trixie. "Seems like none of you know how to listen! So I'm about to make an example out of this girl!"
"Or you can give them one more chance?" Trixie suggested. "From my personal experience, everyone benefits from having at least three chances."
Before Beetle could fire, he felt his energy being drained, prompting him to let go of Trixie. He turned around and saw that Rogue was the reason he lost energy at that moment after exploiting a destroyed piece of armor that exposed his skin. The woman then grabbed Trixie with a safe hand.
Angrily The Beetle used what little strength he still had to aim his laser, hoping to take Rogue out. But Peter finally had a chance to catch up and webbed his legs, pulling the villain in for a punch that left him unconscious on a rooftop.
"Awesome!" Lightning Dust said as she flew over. "You got him!"
"And Trixie's safe," Rogue said as she set the girl down.
"That was rather exhilarating," Trixie said. "And something I do not wish to go through again."
"It didn't look that bad," Lightning Dust said.
"I was held against my will at uncomfortable heights!" Trixie shouted. "It was that bad!"
"Settle down now," Rogue said. "Let's just get this creep to jail, and hopefully get some answers too."
"Yeah, let's go find Yuriko," Peter said as he webbed The Beetle up to easily travel with.
Within Klugetown, both Remy and Bobby were seen fending off the villainous forces of The Skrulls, Shadaloo's Men and The Mad Gear Gang.
Bobby blasted several henchmen with his ice beams, knocking them out or freezing them in place. He then stomped hard on the ground and sent several enemies into the air with an ice stalagmite.
Remy dodged several henchmen that came after him while whacking each of them with his staff. His quick reflexes allowed him to do quick takedowns of his foes while also using his kinetic cards to knock everyone back.
Calaeno assisted as well with her crew, using her sword to disarm various henchmen and take them down swiftly. Felicia was fighting by their side while Capper kept a distance, using various catapults to launch debris as defense.
"We doing great so far!" Remy said as he knocked out several guards, "Keep it up mes amis!"
"Don't gotta tell me twice!" Bobby said as he hit a few uppercuts.
Within moments, Bison stepped forward, looking ready to fight. "Who wishes to do battle against me?"
"Here comes the big man," Bobby said. "Yo Remy, you mind if I take this poser on?"
"Be my guest," Remy said.
"I shall make this town your final resting place," Bison warned as he charged up his Psycho Power.
"I've been wanting to shut you up for years," Bobby charged at the Shadaloo leader with an ice blast that Bison punched through as the villain engaged Bobby in combat.
"My turn!" Iori charged up his Orochi power and lunged at Remy, who blocked the incoming strike with his staff.
"Gonna need to be much faster than that, mon ami!" Remy said as he and Iori exchanged blows.
Calaeno aimed her sword at Kl'rt, the bird woman preparing for her own fight, "Come at me!"
"Fool, do you not know who I am!?" Kl'rt generated some rocks over his hands. "I am The Super Skrull!"
Celaeno and her pirates charged at Kl'rt, though the alien proved to be more than a match as he whacked them all away with ease. Celaeno did not give up as she continued trying to do battle against Super Skrull.
Meanwhile Felicia was facing off against Vice and Mature. It seemed troubling at first, considering she was out numbered, but the odds were soon evened out when she found an unlikely ally.
"Need help?"
"Eddie?" Felicia turned to see an unmasked Eddie Brock.
"It looks like you're about to fight for your life here," Eddie said. "Let me help."
"That's kind of you," Felicia said. "Of course I probably could take them alone, but I'll let you assist if you really want to."
"Well, if it isn't the traitor," Mature said.
"The one who grew a soft spot for the daughter of the man he claims to have hated," Vice said.
"I do hate Spider-Man, but his daughter was innocent!" Eddie said as the suit took over. "We will not allow an injustice like that to be overlooked!"
Just as Venom leapt at the two, Akuma stood in his path and blocked a strike, "I seek a challenge!"
"You'll get one!" Venom shouted as he punched Akuma across the jaw, which earned him a kick that sent him skidding back.
"Black Cat!" Bon Bon ran toward Felicia, the mare looking ready to fight. "Don't worry, I got you covered!'
"Much appreciated, Bonnie," Felicia said.
"Aw, the cute little pony wants to help," Vice taunted.
"Careful, I'm no cute little pony," Bon Bon said. "I am an Agent of S.M.I.L.E."
Vice clashed with Bon Bon while Mature clashed with Felicia, all four ladies fighting for either protection or domination.
Elsewhere Johnny was throwing various fire balls at The Green Goblin, trying his hardest to knock the man out off of his glider.
"Hey! Why don't you fight me like a man!?" Johnny shouted as he flew in to attack, but Goblin quickly dodged.
"Sorry, too slow!" Goblin taunted.
"Oh you're really asking for it!" Johnny flew in to attack again, but Goblin set a bomb off near Johnny, the hero blocking and withstanding the explosion, but was greeted with a punch from the villain.
"Got ya!" Goblin readied another bomb, but as he threw it, it was shot midair. Goblin looked down to see a recovered Wade with his gun.
"I'm still alive, dipshit!" Wade kept firing, prompting Goblin to leap down and punch Wade through a nearby building.
"You won't be for long," Goblin said, then took a kick from behind, courtesy of Johnny.
"Got you!" Johnny readied some fire and blasted Goblin, but the villain recovered quickly and charged in with a shoulder ram that knocked Johnny back.
"Anyone else!?" Goblin asked. Pinkie attempted to attack from behind, but Goblin grabbed her by the face and slammed the pink pony down. "Aw, where's that little smile of yours?"
"Get the hell away from my wife!" Wade rushed in and impaled Goblin with his swords, but the man endured and punched Wade a few times before kicking him back. Goblin then pulled the swords out and threw them right back at Wade, both impaling the mercenary.
Johnny then blasted Goblin from behind, prompting the villain to throw yet another bomb right at the Torch.
Suddenly Rainbow Dash flew in and kicked Goblin in the head. This gave Pinkie the opening to headbutt him in the chest. Both girls teamed up for a double punch that knocked Goblin further back.
"Did that work?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Goblin merely stepped forward with a terrifying glare in his eyes, "It worked alright, it worked in infuriating me."
Within moments, Goblin had begun to transform, the man now becoming twice his size and much more muscular. This new appearance was terrifying for Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie as the monstrous creature stepped forward.
"Now, which one should I incinerate first?" Goblin said as he aimed his fire. "Perhaps the blue one, she does love fire after all."
Rainbow Dash still looked ready to fight, but thankfully Johnny was quick to protect her.
"Don't you EVER threaten my wife!" Johnny delivered some viscous punches to Goblin's face, hoping to knock the villain out, but regardless of how many times he struck, Goblin just looked at him with a terrifying glare.
"Is that all you've got, Johnny?" Goblin taunted before punching the hero towards Rainbow Dash, then whacking an oncoming Wade toward Pinkie Pie.
"Wade! Pinkie!" Mrs. Cake called as she ran over.
"Johnny! Rainbow Dash!" Mr. Cake called as well as he and his wife tried pulling everyone away. "We gotta go!"
"Carrot! Cup! I told you both to leave!" Wade urged.
"Don't leave, stay and die!" Goblin shouted as he generated some fire and sent a massive blast at the others. Right afterwards he started blasting everything around him, bringing Klugetown to flames.
Not too far away, Logan was fending off some attackers, then saw the fire. "Shit!" He turned to Fluttershy. "Get everyone out of here!"
"What about you!?" Fluttershy asked.
"Just go! I got this!" Logan said as he ran in the direction of the fire.
Not too far away, despite their best efforts, Remy's Team had a hard time keeping Bison's team away.
Bison was aggressively battling Bobby, slowly overwhelming the Ice Hero. "I thought you were stronger than this?"
"Hey I'm not done!" Bobby sent an ice attack, to which Bison charged through his own power.
"PSYCHO CRUSHER!" Bison tackled Bobby through a building, leaving the hero injured and on the ground.
"Bobby!" Remy ran to help but Iori got in his path and delivered several hard strikes to the Cajin fighter.
"Don't you have more than this!?" Iori shouted as he delivered a powerful blow to Remy, sending the mutant flying back.
Celaeno was exhausted from her fight with Kl'rt, the pirate woman fearing the worst in this moment, "This may be my last battle. If so, I will go down fighting!"
"You speak like a warrior," Kl'rt said as he charged in to attack. "Now die!"
Suddenly Bucky had arrived and punched Kl'rt away, then gestured for Celaeno to leave, "I got this!"
"You!" Kl'rt threw a punch that Bucky blocked with his metal arm.
Meanwhile Applejack had arrived with Big Macintosh and Braeburn as the three knocked Iori away from Remy, just before the villainous martial artist could finish the X-Men member off.
"Let's get Remy out of here!" Applejack said.
"What about Bobby?" Big Macintosh asked. "Rarity would want him safe."
"Ah got him, you save Remy," Applejack said. "We may need to leave town."
"But this was our last place to hide out!" Braeburn said.
"Well it ain't exactly safe here!" Applejack said. "Come on, let's...oh no..."
Up in the air was one more terrifying surprise. A villain thought to be dead was seen hovering over the area. "So, this is where everyone ran off to..."
"That's...that one creature Johnny and his family fights!" Applejack said. "The one from Ponyville!"
"Annihilus!?" Bucky asked in disbelief.
"Yes...him," Kl'rt boasted.
"But...that muscular man with that fancy axe did him in! Didn't he!?" Applejack asked. "That's what ah heard!"
"Looks like he's not done yet," Braeburn said.
"Time to die!" Annihilus shouted as he rained down fire balls at the town as well, assisting Goblin in destroying the city.
"Now what!?" Logan asked in frustration.
"Logan!" Nightcrawler teleported by his side. "We must leave!"
"There might be survivors, I gotta save them!" Logan said.
"Then I will help you!" Nightcrawler said. "But we must hurry. To stay and fight would not be a wise choice."
"I know...and boy do I hate that," Logan admitted.
"As do I my friend," Nightcrawler said. "But for the sake of the families here, we must. We cannot allow more to die."
"Leaving so soon?" Goblin asked as he stepped forward. "Don't be in such a rush."
"You..." Logan glared at the villain. "Osborn."
"You walk through the fires as if you were a demon from hell itself," Nightcrawler said. "Given your atrocities, you might as well be one."
"Thanks, I do try," Goblin taunted. "Before you go, do you know where my son is?"
"He is somewhere you cannot hurt him!" Nightcrawler said as he aimed his sword. "You do not deserve to be a father! Especially after all the atrocities you have committed today."
"Big talk coming from Mystique's son," Goblin taunted, this stinging the teleporting mutant. "Or were you not told about what she did in Asgard?"
"You do NOT get to speak my mother's name!" Nightcrawler teleported to attack, but Goblin anticipated that and punched the man through a building.
"KURT!" Logan shouted in worry as he unsheathed his claws. "Bring it Osborn! I owe you for everything you've done to Peter and his family anyway!"
"Aw, so you do care," Goblin taunted. "Very well, you can all be together in death!"
As the town was destroyed, several ponies were able to escape, thanks to some quick thinking from Fluttershy and Rarity, both mares worried about their husbands.
Wade and Johnny also made it out, each man carrying his pony wife as the two looked back, furious as to what had happened.
"Uncle Wade!" Came the voice of Pound Cake as he ran over with his twin sister.
"Hey! Don't just run off!" Came the voice of Limestone as she ran over with her two sisters, each of them having one of Pinkie's kids on their back.
Maud was the first to notice her younger sister's condition, "Pinkie..."
"She's alive, don't worry," Wade said.
"Uncle Wade...where's mommy and daddy?" Pound Cake asked.
Wade had no immediate answer, the man just stood there in silence for a moment, unsure on how to explain this. "Pound...Pumpkin..."
"Did...did they make it out?" Pumpkin asked, the young filly beginning to tear up. "Please, tell us."
Wade himself felt tears coming to his eyes as he clutched his wife close. "I'm sorry..."
Pound Cake's eyes widened as he walked toward his uncle figure. "Don't tell me..." He looked around in worry, desperate to see a change in reality "Are they...mine and Pumpkin's...are our parents...?"
Wade nodded his head, confirming Pound's fears. The boy was not sure how to handle this reveal, and this new reality.
Pumpkin could not believe what she heard, the young filly was now shaking her head in denial, "N-no, they gotta be back there! I can go and find them! I'll use my magic!"
"Hey!" Pound got in front of his sister. "Are you nuts!? It's dangerous!"
"But mommy and daddy are back there!" Pumpkin said. "If we hurry-"
"They're not!" A tearful Pound said. "Uncle Wade wouldn't lie to us about something like this!"
"I didn't say he lied!" Pumpkin shouted. "Maybe he just made a mistake! It happens!"
"Pumpkin...your parents didn't make it," Wade said. "I'm sorry, I couldn't save them."
"They probably just got left behind!" Pumpkin said. "If you just let me-"
"They're dead, Pumpkin!" Wade shouted as he yanked his mask off, a look of pure regret on his face. "I'm sorry to yell at you at a time like this, I really am! I wanted to save Carrot and Cup Cake, but I couldn't! They're gone!"
Just hearing that broke Pumpkin's denial as the girl started tearing up more. It wasn't long before she broke down crying. Pound, despite his own grief, was quick to comfort his sister.
Wade was heartbroken, and doing his best to fight back his tears. He had to be strong for the twins, but knowing he couldn't save the people who gave him and his family a home nagged at the mercenary.
"Wade...we should go," Johnny said. "If we stay...well, you know."
"Would you be able to hold Pinkie as well?" Wade asked.
"I think I can," Johnny said as Wade gently placed his wife in Johnny's arms. Holding two ponies was tough, but Johnny was more than willing to keep his wife and a girl he loved like a sister close.
Wade picked up the Cake Twins, doing his best to comfort them as everyone quickly left town.
Meanwhile, Applejack was able to use the distraction caused by Annihilus to escape as well, along with her friends.
Remy was quick to his feet, but glared back in frustration, "Bastards..."
"Save your anger for later, amigo," Capper said as he rushed over while assisting Celaeno. "We gotta skedaddle before those guys catch up to us."
"Hey, where's the rest of them pirates?" Applejack asked.
Celaeno shook her head in shame, "I couldn't save them."
"Dang..." Applejack shook her head in shame. "Mourn later, let's go!'
In town, Venom was still fending off Akuma, despite his struggles. Fortunately Otto and Taskmaster showed up by his side.
"Everyone in town is leaving, we should join them!" Otto said.
"We can't just run, it's cowardly!" Venom said.
"I kind of have to agree with Brock here," Taskmaster said. "We can take these guys, we've worked with them at some point or another. Besides, I know their every move!"
"Just because you understand their style Masters, doesn't mean you will be a match for them!" Otto said. "I doubt your reflexes will save you from Annihilus! Or even Akuma here!"
"It's worth a shot," Taskmaster said.
Akuma huffed in annoyance, "I expected more. I shall send you to the afterlife for wasting my time with such a pitiful challenge!"
"Attack!" Double Diamond said as he and his friends leapt at Akuma. The fighter merely knocked them all away as he maintained his focus on the former villains.
"Look, there's still ponies in town," Taskmaster said. "Focus less on fighting the bad guys and more on saving the others. Brock, you want to protect the Innocents, don't you?"
"...You got us there," Venom said.
"Doc, help him out," Taskmaster said. "I can't promise I can beat this guy, but I can definitely stall for time."
"...Very well, I wish you luck Masters," Otto said. "Let's go Brock."
"Right behind you, Octavius," Venom said as he and Otto left.
Taskmaster focused on Akuma, "Alright, let's see those fancy moves of yours."
"If you are not ready to fight like your life depends on it, then you will lose that life," Akuma said. "Now fight me!"
Klugetown had fallen, and everyone was once again on the run, desperate to find sanctuary. But even those who had survived may be burdened with having lost more. The heroes regret not being able to protect those they loved, and the innocents in town, while the citizens began losing more hope, with the idea of Freedom being that much more foreign.
Elsewhere, Rumble and his friends were hoping to find a quick way back to Klugetown. It wasn't long before they passed by Appaloosa, steering clear from the town that was currently being enslaved.
"Make sure these ponies harvest all the apples," the villainous Mysterio ordered. "I hear they're quite the delicacy."
"Yes sir," a mad gear gang member said.
Mysterio crossed his arms in frustration, "Why must I be the one overlooking such a baron wasteland of a town? Such a menial task would suit The Wizard much better."
"Those jerks," Sweetie Belle said.
"Don't worry, we'll liberate them soon enough," Rumble said. "Right now, we should keep moving."
"What for? There's plenty of us," Smolder said. "We can handle one villain."
"He might have more, plus these guys are pretty strong now," Rumble said. "If we try fighting, we might lose."
"Rumble's right," Sweetie Belle said. "Mysterio was no pushover before, he might be even more dangerous now."
"Hey you!" Came the voice of Laura, the woman currently in town alongside Kate Bishop.
"Intruders?" Mysterio said.
"Looks like you're out here causing trouble, so me and my buddy Kate here are about to send your ass packing!" Laura boasted.
"Hey, you have a plan, right?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, kick ass," Laura said.
"...Of course," Kate lamented.
"Seems like you're here all alone too," Laura said. "So I would suggest-"
Suddenly Adagio landed in town, the Siren glaring at Laura in malcontent. "What pretty claws you have."
"The better to carve you with," Laura said.
"And...Adagio's there," Rumble said. "But, now I'm worried about Laura."
"Let's just ambush them," Scootaloo said. "It couldn't hurt to try."
"Actually, it could, very much so..." Came a voice from behind them. Each of them turned around to see a familiar ninja.
"Shredder?" Scootaloo asked. "Rainbow Dash said he was in Manehatten."
"Guess he likes to travel," Gabby said.
"Vergil mentioned some troubling children nearby, so I came to investigate," Shredder said. "It looks like you've all caused quite the commotion."
"Yeah, we did, and we'll do it again!" Scootaloo said. "You think you can scare us!?"
"Actually, he scares me a little," Gabby said.
"It is wise to fear me," Shredder said. "But, that will not protect you from death."
Laura began to smell something nearby, "Someone else is here."
"Focus on me!" Adagio ran to attack, to which Laura blocked and punched Adagio away. Kate aimed her bow and arrow to attack, but Mysterio blasted her with some magic.
"This way," Mysterio taunted.
Kate fired an arrow, hitting only what seemed to be an illusion, "Crap!" She turned around, hoping to find Mysterio, but only took a punch to the jaw.
"They're in danger!" Rumble said as he turned around.
"Facing away from me is hazardous to your safety!" Shredder leapt in to attack, but Smolder managed to block the strike, though not without getting hurt.
"Crap!" Smolder held the blood on her arm. "Those claws are sharper than they look!"
"Did you not think that I wouldn't prepare for even Dragons!?" Shredder dashed in to attack again, but Silverstream knocked him back.
"We should run, we're not strong enough to handle Shredder!" Silverstream said.
"Crap!" Laura was thrown through a building, courtesy of Adagio.
"Guess Laura's not strong enough either," Rumble said.
Laura dashed back at Adagio, clawing at her until she got a scratch across her face.
"Oh you bitch," Adagio punched Laura in the jaw and went for another attack, but Rumble managed to rush in and head-butt her in he stomach.
"Run!" Rumble said.
"Rumble!?" Laura asked, then noticed Shredder nearby. "Holy shit!"
Smolder shot fire at Shredder but he powered through and kicked the girl toward Rumble.
"Everyone, with me!" Sweetie Belle said as she charged her magic, praying what she had planned would work.
Ocellus kicked Mysterio away and helped Kate toward Sweetie Belle, "I got you!"
Within moments, the girl had activated her teleportation spell, getting her friends away from the villains.
"No! Find them!" Mysterio ordered.
"Stupid kid, I'm so going to kill him next time," Adagio said.
"They could not have gotten far," Shredder said.
A few yards away from town, Sweetie Belle had landed with her friend, the girl relieved to have gotten everyone out of danger. "That was close."
"Damn, so much for my plan," Laura said. "I could have done away with Mysterio."
"I told you it was poorly thought out," Kate said. "Thankfully these girls were nearby."
"I'm a guy," Rumble pointed out.
"Oh, sorry, I saw mostly girls," Kate said.
"What are you all doing out here?" Laura asked.
"We were just at Ponyville, we wanted to see if we can liberate the town," Sweetie Belle said. "Instead, we nearly got killed by Vergil and Mr. Negative."
"Juri Han was there too," Rumble said. "And Cozy Glow."
"So how did that go?" Laura asked.
"We failed," Rumble said. "But we did find out something important."
"The Tree of Harmony is safe!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Oh really? That's awesome," Laura said. "What is that?"
"Uh...right um..." Rumble had to think of an explanation. "Did Fluttershy tell you anything about how she stopped those Plunderseeds?"
"You mean those black vines that turned Twilight crazy?" Laura asked.
"Yeah those," Rumble said. "She and the others used The Elements of Harmony to fight those vines. Now they can help again, but we need to unlock some chest."
"What chest?" Laura asked.
"After we spoke to the tree..." Scootaloo began. "We saw a chest and-"
"Whoa, back up," Laura said. "You spoke to a tree?"
"I know it sounds crazy, but it did happen," Rumble said.
"...Eh, this whole world is crazy sometimes," Laura said. "Anyway, you were saying?"
"The tree told us that if we wanted to unlock the power of the chest, we needed to bring proof of each time Twilight and her friends did something amazing," Rumble said. "Something true to their element."
"I already told a story about Rarity and the time she met Coco Pommel," Sweetie Belle said. "Scootaloo shared a story about Rainbow Dash and The Wonderbolts. Rumble shared one about Applejack and the Flim Flam Brothers."
"Considering how close you are with Fluttershy, could you think of a story that really showed her Kindness?" Scootaloo asked. "Like, what's her best example of it?"
"I don't know, taking me in I guess?" Laura asked. "How many people would take a girl like me in?"
"That...might be a good point," Scootaloo said. "But we need proof of it."
"What more proof do you need?" Laura asked. "I'm still living with her. She's been housing me for the last five years."
"Fluttershy takes in all types of creatures, doesn't she?" Ocellus asked. "Could that just be an attribute to her Kindness? Or does she need more than that?"
"Hey, I'm the best person she could have taken in, I didn't need as much caring as anyone else did," Laura said.
"Well yeah, you're a pony," Silverstream said. "I mean, you're a human, but pony like. Point is, you're sentient and can take care of yourself compared to those other animals."
"Hey when she let her brother stay, he could not take care of himself if his life depended on it," Laura said. "And don't get me started on The Breezies."
"Breezies?" Scootaloo asked. "Oh yeah, I heard Fluttershy took some in once."
"Those creatures mooched off of her, because Fluttershy was too nice to say anything about it," Laura said. "She eventually did tell them off at least, the girl finally realized that being Kind doesn't always mean being nice. Sometimes people need tough love."
"That's...actually pretty interesting," Ocellus said.
"Fluttershy's gotten good at tough love since then, she uses it on me quite often," Laura said, the girl cracking a smile. "She's one of the very few who gave enough of a damn to want me to turn out better than I was. I love her so much for that."
"Aw, that's cute," Silverstream said.
"Ew, don't get all sappy with me," Laura said. "Anyway, that's all I can remember from what she told me. I wasn't there when it happened, but she did tell me about it when her friend Seabreeze came to visit. He was the only Breezie that wasn't a mooch, because he wanted to get home. The guy had a family to come home to."
"I think I remember Seabreeze, he was pretty nice, but very aggressive at times," Scootaloo said.
"He definitely had the fire, and a rocking Swedish Accent to boot," Laura said. "He's nice though, he gave Fluttershy a Fancy Flower for her help. I think she still has it, somehow it survived all this time. Must be one hell of a flower."
"Well this is nice," Rumble said, before his ears twitched. "We should go, I think those villains are still looking for us."
"Hey Laura, did anyone send you and your friend out here?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"My name's Kate by the way," the archer girl explained.
"Hi Kate, I'm Sweetie Belle," the mare replied.
"To answer your question, Kate and I came to find you lot since everyone was worried," Laura said. "We just happened to stop by Appaloosa and figured we could liberate it. Guys like Iron Man and Hawkeye are out there and trying to liberate the world. So we wanted to help."
"It went bad," Kate said.
"At least you tried," Rumble said. "And thanks for coming to find us."
"It's nothing, I know Tender Taps would have been happy if I came too," Laura said. "I really do like that colt. He's nice."
Rumble smirked at what looked like a crush on Laura's behalf, "Well, come on, let's head back."
Back in Appaloosa, Mysterio was seen pacing in anger, "Those rotten kids made fools out of us. For that they shall pay dearly."
"Instead of complaining, would it not be wiser to pursue them?" Shredder asked.
"Watch your tone, I do not complain," Mysterio said.
"Look, don't worry," Adagio said. "I know a guy who might be interested in finding Sweetie Belle. He's one of Bison's men, and he's been waiting for his chance to return."
"Who is this man?" Shredder asked.
"Oh...you'll see," Adagio said as she sinisterly rubbed her heads together.
In the Crystal Empire, Kazuya was seen looking down from the castle at some enslaved ponies. This was not his turf, but he had his reasons for being here.
Within moments, he heard a couple of new arrivals come in, the man turning to spot the pair. "Sephiroth. I see you brought your little assistant."
"The name's Tempest Shadow," the mare said. "I am The Storm Queen."
"Your title means little to me," Kazuya said.
"Someone's in a mood," Sephiroth said. "I am surprised to see you here. Is this not Albert Wesker's chosen place of rule?"
"He is busy, so he requested my assistance," Kazuya said. "He promised to return the favor, a promise that I will hold him to."
"Sounds important if he left it to you over someone like Vergil," Sephiroth said.
"He is busy as well, it seemed urgent," Kazuya said. "Enough of me, what of you two? You have been gone from this world for a number of days."
"We were assisting Loki," Sephiroth said. "Thor is still alive, and that could be a detriment to our plans."
"If Thor returns, it will be a threat to our rule," Tempest said. "We hoped to alert Wesker and Doom."
"Very well, I shall ensure that he gets the message," Kazuya said.
"Please do, it's urgent," Tempest said. She then noticed something strange. "Uh...isn't that the one they call...Eggman?"
Kazuya turned to the scientist on his Egg Mobile. "Oh hey, sorry to bother you. I got a message from Vergil and he seems really unhappy about something."
"What is it?" Kazuya asked.
"So it seems like these ponies may have an Ace in the Hole, something about a magical tree," Eggman said. "I came by hoping to at least let Wesker know, but he doesn't seem to be here."
"He is with Doctor Doom in New Asgard," Kazuya said.
"Right, well now you know at least," Eggman said. "I don't suppose one of you could calm his nerves."
"I am not a therapist," Kazuya said.
"Right, who is?" Eggman said, trying to lighten the mood with a slight chuckle.
"Just leave if you're done," Kazuya said.
"Right, of course," Eggman said as he left.
"Such an odd man," Sephiroth said. "No odder than Professor Hojo of course."
"I suppose I should look into Vergil's worries myself, given that I am Equestrian born," Tempest said.
"That would be wise," Sephiroth said. "We will meet up with Loki and the others later then."
"Hey...has my son been around?" Kazuya asked.
"Not that we've seen," Sephiroth said.
"Very well, you may be off," Kazuya said as the two left. "...I should return to my world soon, I have a business to take back."
Within his world, Mark was trying his best to one up the Viltrumite known as Anissa, but the woman proved to be a much more capable fighter than he hoped.
No matter how fast he thought he was, she was much faster, and stronger. For every blow he tried to land, she was quick to block and retaliate with strong blows of her own.
Sunset and the others ran toward the beach the two were fighting over, spotting what looked like a giant cruise ship nearby.
They could feel the shockwaves of the fight, amazed by the raw power of this Viltrimute woman against the half-breed hero.
"I see Mark," Sunset said just as the hero got knocked against the ship, causing incredible damage and pain for the boy.
Mark coughed up a little as Anissa slowly floated toward him. "You are duty bound by your people, your true people. You will fulfil your orders!"
"Hey you!" Called Sunset, this getting the woman's attention. "Get away from Invincible! Right now!"
"Another human?" Anissa suddenly appeared behind Sunset. "Looks like I have more exterminating to do."
"Sunset!" Dante slammed his sword on Anissa, the woman catching it, though not without putting in the effort.
From within his headquarters, a man named Cecil was looking on in disbelief, "Who are those people!?" He then contacted the hero on field. "Mark! We have unknowns!"
"Huh?" Mark noticed the others that had arrived. "Sunset Shimmer?"
"You're strong," Anissa said before punching Dante through his chest, the man spitting up some blood.
Though instead of dying like she expected, Dante simply smirked and head-butted her a few times, allowing Gwen to latch her webbing and flung Anissa away, with the Viltrumite Woman immediately halting the momentum.
"Who are these people!?" Cecil asked. "They're not with the Guardians!"
"They could be," His assistant Donald said while gesturing to the video. "That guy with the blonde hair, he looks like a superhero."
The man in question was of Course All Might as he dashed in to throw a punch at Anissa. While his strike was blocked, he was able to leap away and allow Sonic to spindash into her chest while Ryu ran over with his ki charged.
"HADOUKEN!" Ryo blasted her point blank, and while she felt it a little, it was not enough to deter her. "It didn't work!?"
"Guys! Get out of here!" Mark called. "She's too dangerous!"
"We're not leaving you!" Sunset generated some magic and sent a blast Anissa's way, but the woman quickly flew off.
"This is getting bothersome," Anissa said, then noticed someone coming in from the side. "Huh!?"
"I got you!" Mark tried for a punch, but Anissa dodged and delivered a blow of her own to Mark's stomach, then grabbed him by the throat, squeezing as tightly as she could.
"You're really trying my patience," Anissa warned. "Either you join me or I will kill you along with this planet!"
"Mark!" Sunset shouted in worry.
"Don't move!" Anissa warned. "One step closer and he dies!"
"What a coward," Gwen insulted.
"What do we do?" Cloud asked. "We can't just let him die."
"If we try to do something, it will get Mark killed," Chris said. "This woman's clearly a step above those other Viltrumites!"
Anissa continued squeezing Mark's neck, "Well!? What's your answer!?" She then lightened her grip so he could respond, though was ready to resume if need be.
"Mark!" Cecil said from his communicator. "Just agree to join her! It doesn't have to be real! We just need time to prepare!"
"N-no..." Mark said.
"God Damn it kid! You can't beat her!" Cecil shouted.
"What about those others?" Donald asked.
"Never mind them!" Cecil said as he continued to speak. "Mark! Come on!"
Mark ignored Cecil while glaring at Anissa, the woman keeping a close eye on the others.
"If you're going to kill me, go ahead," Mark said. "But you're really inconsistent. You say you need me, yet you want to kill me. Make up your mind."
Anissa growled in anger as she aggressively threw Mark toward the ground, with Sunset rushing to check on him.
"Mark! Are you okay!?" Sunset asked.
"You! Girl with the fiery hair!" Anissa called, getting Sunset's attention. "I don't know who you are, but be grateful that your deaths are not part of my agenda! I will return, but if your friend refuses to join his Viltrumite brothers and sisters, he will suffer the consequences!"
"What are you even planning!?" Sunset asked. "Why do you want this planet!?"
"That is not your concern! Just be ready to surrender to the Viltrumite Empire!" Anissa said before flying off.
"Just what we need," Dante said as his wound healed up. "Another megalomaniac."
"I really hope Doctor Doom never finds out about this woman," Gwen said. "What if he recruits her?"
"Something tells me that even if he tried, he would not be successful," Ryu said.
Gwen checked up on the injured Mark, the girl trying to get him to awaken, "Hey...are you okay?"
"Huh?" Mark asked as he slowly sat up.
"Oh good," Gwen said. "That was quite a beating you took."
"I guess..." Mark glanced at the girl. "You look familiar."
"Mark!" Sunset knelt beside the hero.
"Sunset!?" Mark noticed the others nearby as well. "Wait, if you're all here, does that mean-?"
"Doom struck harder," Sunset said. "Equestria's in ruins. The heroes of these worlds were overwhelmed."
"Some of us were nearly killed," Ryu shamefully admitted. "Including Spider-Man."
"Oh crap, how is he?" Mark asked.
"He's alive, and he's recovering," Ryu said. "As of now, he is training to get stronger. The rest of us are recruiting."
"We've been planning this for weeks," Sunset said. "We needed your help too, but it looks like your Viltrumite problem has gotten worse."
"Yeah, that girl Anissa came by with a few," Mark said. "I think they were scouts."
"Don't worry about them, they're dead," Chris said. "We managed to take them out."
"That woman though...she seems to be on another level," Cloud said.
"She's one of the elites, just like my father," Mark said. "Some Viltrumites make the ones you just encountered look like ants."
"...Seriously?" Gwen nervously asked. She looked around and saw that everyone had the same worried expression, even if some of them tried to hide it.
"Listen Mark, we wanted your help..." Sunset began. "But if you're dealing with your own troubles, we'll understand if you don't want to."
"No, I want to help," Mark said. "I promised that-"
"Mark! What are you doing!?" Cecil asked over the intercom. "You can't just-"
Mark pulled the radio from his ear and tossed it, "I gave my word that I would help. Besides, if nothing is done about Doctor Doom, then the Viltrumites will just be the start of our worries. There's nothing stopping them from coming to this world too. Anissa won't be back for a while, so I think this world is safe from the Viltrumites for the time being."
"Well, if you want to come, then good," Sunset said. "But this goes both ways now. After we defeat Doom, we'll come back and help you with The Viltrumites. Deal?"
"...I can't ask you to fight my battles," Mark said.
"You're not asking us," Sonic said. "We're making our own choice."
"We can't let you have all the fun," Dante said.
"...Thanks, all of you," Mark said.
All Might helped the boy up, "When this is over, I'd like for you to come to my world. There's a young up and coming hero that I think you'd like to meet."
"Who's that?" Sunset asked.
"His name is Izuku Midoriya," All Might explained. "He has the same drive that Mark here has, and Peter too."
"Another Spider-Man type hero?" Dante asked. "Well, your world's already in good hands."
Sunset checked her list, "Alright, we've got Mark. I'll let Julia know."
"Alright, who should we recruit next?" Chris asked.
"Let's go find Lara Croft," Cloud said. "I'll know how to convince her, but I may need Sonic's help."
"Mine?" Sonic asked. "Any reason?"
"You speak her language," Cloud said. "I'll explain later, let's go."
Within Dragon World's future, Gohan was seen getting kicked through some buildings. Despite the power up he got from his Mystic Form, he was still struggling against Black's power.
"Don't tell me you're done!" Black taunted. "The son of Goku is said to have incredible power! Has it really dwindled to a mere joke?"
"Hey, I still have plenty of fight left within me!" Gohan said as he flew in to punch Black once again, the man blocking the strike.
"Okay, that's slightly better!" Black then kicked Gohan aside and sent some blasts at the boy. "But it is not enough!"
Gohan deflected the blasts, but took a strong punch to his stomach, then got kicked aside.
"Gohan!" Trunks flew to help, but Zamasu had blocked his path.
"I cannot allow you to interfere," Zamasu said, before taking a shot to his face.
"Trunks, I'll distract him!" Forge urged. "Go help Gohan!"
"You again?" Zamasu sent a blast Forge's way as he desperately dodged.
Seconds later, Psylocke leapt up and impaled Zamasu with her sword, but Zamasu had retaliated with an elbow strike to her face, and a punch that sent her flying.
Nearby, Ben was thrown through some buildings, courtesy of Dormammu as the villainous ruler got closer. "Come now, Ben Grimm, don't you have more of a fight than that?"
"Help him out!" Cable ordered as he, Mai, Domino and Bishop opened fire on Dormammu. The bullets did nothing, but they hoped to distract him long enough for Ben to fight back.
The rock man managed to land a punch on Dormammu off the distraction, but he took a blast that once again sent him flying as he generated some power. "I will melt you into magma!"
"BIG BANG ATTACK!" Came a voice as a blast knocked Dormammu several buildings away.
"What the?" Cable looked up to see the Saiyan Prince. "Well look who finally made it."
"Huh?" Black turned to see that Vegeta had arrived. "Oh perfect..."
"Eyes on me!" Gohan tried to attack again, but Black kneed him in the stomach and elbowed him to the ground below.
"I am done with you!" Black said, then focused on Vegeta. "So, the Saiyan Prince has finally returned!?"
"I'm here to destroy you and take back my son's future," Vegeta said. "After that, we're going to annihilate those friends of yours, and liberate the other worlds."
"I would hardly call them friends, they are merely useful tools in my eyes," Black said.
"Does that include the one I just easily defeated?" Vegeta asked.
"Don't get so cocky," Black said as Zamasu flew by his side. "You may be strong, but in the end, you are still but mere mortals! You cannot hope to grasp the limitless potential of a God!"
"This guy's so full of himself," Forge commented.
"They both are," Cable said. "A match made in hell."
"It is our divine duty to bring justice to the world!" Black said. "It will not stop here, for now the entire multiverse is at our reach."
"We shall cleanse these worlds of bothersome mortals and replace it with much more fitting life," Zamasu said. "It may take a few tries, but hitting the reset button now and again is but a small price to play."
"This is all just a game to you, isn't it!?" Trunks shouted. "You two are just monsters who are desperate to justify your senseless destruction! Attacking innocent people just because you can! You're the problem, not us!"
"You dare to blame us!?" Zamasu shouted. "The true blame lies within the likes of you mortals!"
"Especially mortals like you!" Black shouted while glaring at Trunks. "Those who defy the will of the Gods!"
Trunks angrily gripped his hand into a fist.
"To create a Time Machine, to defy the natural order of things..." Zamasu said. "Such sin cannot be overlooked! Deeds like those must be punished!"
"In a way Trunks, it was because of you that we exist here," Black said. "You might as well have killed each of these Earthlings yourself!"
"I...I just wanted to save everyone!" Trunks said.
"Trunks, ignore them!" Forge shouted. "They're just trying to get in your head! Don't let them!"
"Don't feed him such lies!" Black shouted. "He knows it's true! Had he just accepted fate, none of this would be happening!"
"He considers himself a hero, when all he has done was brought the same tragedy to those he claims he is trying to save," Zamasu said.
"Hey kid!" Ben called. "Remember, people said this exact same thing about Spider-Man! Villains are always looking for anyone to blame except for themselves!"
"Be silent!" Black sent a blast at Ben that Vegeta was quick to block on his behalf.
"Hey thanks buddy," Ben said.
"You can thank me when the battle is over and we're not dead," Vegeta said.
"Trunks, search your heart, you know it to be true," Black said. "This is all your fault. The deaths of everyone here...including your mother."
Trunks angrily slammed his fist on the ground as he looked up in Black in anger, "Don't you...EVER!" The boy huffed in anger.
"Trunks..." Mai said in worry as the boy huffed in pain.
"Fine...you want me to be a sinner Black!?" Trunks shouted as he began powering up. "Then that's just what I am!"
"Trunks!?" Forge said in disbelief.
Many could see Trunks's transformation, including his mother Bulma, who also came from the past, and various survivors in Trunks's current timeline.
Within moments, a blue aura surrounded Trunks's natural Super Saiyan aura as his pupils left his eyes, "This time Black..." Trunks said as he stomped toward the villain. "I will kill you myself!"
"By all means, just try," Black said.
Trunks shouted and punched the God in the stomach, the man merely laughing it off as he and Trunks once again engaged in battle.
"Kick his ass, Trunks!" Forge cheered. "You got this!"
"I cannot allow this to continue," Zamasu said. Suddenly he noticed a car flying toward him. While he cut it in half with an energy blade, Ben had leapt up and punched him across the skies, allowing Gohan a chance to kick Zamasu aside as well.
Within moments, Dormammu had returned, looking furious. "Those who defy me..."
"Watch out!" Cable warned.
"Will suffer!" Dormammu generated a lot of power just as Trunks and Black hit a beam clash, the resulting explosion lighting up the entire radius as things went pitch black for some.
Observing from the Portal Room, Chun-Li tried returning attention back to that world, but was unable too. "Dammit, I should have gone with them!"
"It would have been too dangerous," Peni Parker said.
"Yeah, but don't worry, it's not over," Donatello said.
"We'll figure this out," Tails said.
Chun-Li wanted to trust the three geniuses beside her, but with how gloomy things looked, the woman began to doubt herself. "I used to believe we could defeat any enemy that came our way...but keeping up with this, and some of that stuff with The Viltrumites..."
"Hey even Miguel looked bothered when he saw that, but he's still determined," Donatello said.
"...I gotta do something, maybe check Dragon World some more," Chun-Li said as she tried focusing on it. "I'll switch to another timeline!"
"Hey careful with that! Some of the technology is still new!" Donatello said.
"I can figure it out," Chun-Li said.
"But even you've had trouble reaching this world!" Peni said as she and Tails tried pulling Chun-Li away.
"Please, this isn't going to help!" Tails said.
"Tails, knock it off!" Chun-Li said, the woman stopping on a world. "I need to do this!"
"You need to take a break!" Donatello said as he, Tails and Peni led Chun-Li away while leaving the portal open.
This caught the attention of a young girl with an orange bandana on the other side, curious about the new portal that opened.
During the scuffle, Genis Sage had passed by, the boy looking annoyed by the fighting, "Seriously? Aren't you morons supposed to be keeping an eye on things?"
"Hey, what's going on?" the girl asked.
"Those three are..." Genis noticed that the girl was stepping through the portal, the one left opened and unattended as new potential problems began to arise. "Oh boy..."
Back on Earth, both The Beetle and The Hood were taken into police custody where Yuriko explained the situation, "With the recent gang wars lately, New York City has not been the safest place on most days. There aren't many heroes around to help either, especially after that big attack from a few weeks ago."
"Yeah, the one that Doctor Doom launched," Peter lamented.
"As such, we've been under powered," Yuriko said. "Fisk has regularly had contact with The Beetle to fend off any remaining hero that might have tried to fight back. It looks like he came after you too."
"Aren't there any heroes left in New York City?" Twilight asked.
"We've had reports of a woman named Elektra helping out," Yuriko said. "Same with The Punisher. But their methods are a bit more violent."
"Oof, yeah they are," Peter said.
"A hero named Angel has also been around," Yuriko said. "I believe he is associated with the X-Men."
"Sounds like that might be Warren," Rogue said. "Glad he stepped up."
"And some other girl who looks a bit too much like Deadpool," Yuriko said.
"Huh? Deadpool?" Peter asked.
"She's unusual, she claims that she is not from this dimension," Yuriko said. "She keeps calling this a comic book world."
"Did anyone test her for drugs?" Shocker asked.
"We did...she's surprisingly clean," Yuriko said.
"She's probably crazy then," Shocker said.
"I'm happy that there are some heroes left here," Peter said. "Has anyone like Daredevil or Luke Cage come by?"
"They have not been seen in quite some time," Yuirko said. "A detective of ours named Jessica Jones has also been missing, same with Iron Fist."
"Iron Fist..." Peter lamented. "Last I saw him, he was killed in battle."
"Killed?" Yuriko asked. "By who?"
"The Green Goblin," Peter said. "He's still alive and terrorizing a different dimension."
"Different dimension?" Yuriko asked. "You are starting to sound like that Gwen girl!"
"...Gwen?" Peter asked. "You mean Gwen Stacy?"
"Huh? How could it be her? She's been dead for ten years," Yuriko said.
"Right...sorry," Peter said.
"Gwen is the girl who looked like Deadpool," Yuriko said. "She said something about dimensions too."
"Don't you have anything on Equestria?" Twilight asked.
"No, I don't think so, why?" Yuriko asked.
"Guess Fury didn't want to share," Peter said. "Look, I know it sounds crazy, but once we can prove it to you, we will."
"Well, given what just happened, and some of the weird things The Avengers talk about, and even Thor's existence, I suppose I should be open minded," Yuriko said. "Still, this is a lot to take in."
"Take all the time you need," Peter said. "Anyway, if we're done, I want to check on my daughter. Did the police bring her in?"
"They did, she looked quite scared," Yuriko said.
"She's been through a lot," Peter said. "Right now, I just want to take her home."
"Very well," Yuriko said. "Thank you for your assistance today."
"No trouble, and if anything about Fisk pops up, let me know," Peter said. "I'll take him down, for old time's sake."
"Of course, thank you Spider-Man," Yuriko said.
"No trouble, Yuri," Peter said as he stood up. "I'll get my daughter then. Keep me posted."
"Sure..." Yuriko said, taking a moment to realize she was just given a nickname. "Also, Yuri?"
"Oh, do you mind? Yuriko seemed too formal," Peter said.
"No, it's fine," Yuriko said. "Whatever you're comfortable with, Spider-Man."
"Call me Peter," the hero said.
"Right, of course Peter," Yuriko said.
He gestured to Shocker, "Also...he's not in trouble, is he? I promise that he's a changed man."
"Well...he was connected to some robberies, but I suppose his heroic actions today could count toward community service," Yuriko said. "I'll let his presence slide for now. Just make sure he does not slip up."
"You got it," Peter said. "Now, about my daughter?"
Elsewhere, Mayday was seen clutching Franklin tightly, trying to keep herself calm. Apple Bloom sat by her and soothed the girl while Celestia sat alone.
"It'll be fine," Franklin said as he gently stroked Mayday's hair. "I'm here with you."
"Thanks..." Mayday said. Despite her fears, just being around Franklin lessened the worry.
It wasn't long before Peter arrived, immediately perking the girl up. "Daddy!" Mayday ran over to hug her father as he immediately comforted her.
"Yeah, I'm here, don't worry about a thing, kiddo," Peter said.
Apple Bloom was also relieved as she walked over to the hero, "Never a dull moment with you, huh?"
"Yeah, sorry I got you all dragged into this," Peter said.
"Well, you did what you did best," Apple Bloom said. "You saved people. I'm really proud of you, Peter."
"Me too, daddy," Mayday said.
"Thanks girls, I love you for that," Peter said.
Franklin looked relieved as well, happy that things had been fixed for the moment. He looked over to Celestia, the woman still looking distraught.
He walked over and took her by the hand, "We need to go, Your Highness."
"Oh, um...of course," Celestia said as she stood up.
"Spider-Man's really cool, huh?" Franklin said. "No matter how bad things look, he always saves the day."
"Yes, he does," Celestia said, the woman slightly smiling. Despite how different things were, she's glad that she could rely on Peter all the same.
"Sorry the day got ruined, daddy," Mayday said.
"It's fine, besides we can try again," Peter said. "Maybe we can catch a Broadway show for real."
"...Like The Lion King?" Mayday asked.
"Sure, I'll see what I can do," Peter said. The hero then had to wonder, "How funny would it be if The Lion King cast was actually part of the multiverse? Luke Skywalker proved to me that anything can be possible."
"Um, I'm kind of hungry though," Franklin said.
"...Same," Mayday admitted.
"Well, time to introduce you all to New York's other great tradition," Peter said as he gestured out the door. "To the nearest Hot Dog stand!"
With that, the group had left, glad their ordeal was seemingly over.
Unfortunately, The Kingpin was not taking this loss well as he angrily slammed his fists on the table. "Blasted Spider-Man! I won't let him make a fool of me!"
"Wilson Fisk..." Came a voice.
"Who's there?" Fisk turned around and saw a portal with at least one familiar face. "Doctor Doom?"
Doom stood there alongside Wesker, Vomi and Emma Frost just before stepping through the portal. "It looks like your plan has failed. Such a shame. But that's what you get for sending a mere Pawn against a King and Queen."
"Not even your little Bishop was any match for them," Emma said.
"Parker Robbins is not one of mine, he just got in the way!" Fisk said.
"Do not worry," Wesker said. "We know the perfect play to earn your little checkmate."
"...What is in it for you?" Fisk asked.
"Nothing, we all want Spider-Man defeated for our own personal gain," Wesker said.
"...Very well, what is your plan?" Fisk asked. "Are you going to send a small elite squad?"
"We can do that," Doom said. "Or, we can go for The Other plan. The one that is all but guaranteed to eliminate that pesky spider."
"If Spider-Man wishes to travel The Multiverse...then he will face the consequences," Emma said as she focused her attention on a man in a suit and long hair. "One who just loves spiders."
"Spider-Man will breathe his last breath," Doom said. "And the multiverse will be ours!"
Peter may have saved the day this time, but like his friends, there was more danger to come. Heroes cannot catch a break.
