I do not own Harry Potter or the Vampire Diaries
Anna steps towards Lysandra, shining her flashlight on her. "You are not who I expected." She then noticed the floating ball of light above her head and her eyes widened.
"Who are you?" Lysandra asked politely.
"Anna. Are you a witch?" Anna asked as she looked at the light.
"I am," Lysandra replied since it was obvious.
"Why don't you seem afraid?" Anna asked curiously as she stepped towards the girl.
"Why should I be? I've seen far worse." Lysandra replied with a shrug of her shoulders as she moved away from the girl, prepared to strike if she attacked, except when her light moved with her, it illuminated Pearl's mummified body. Anna sees her mother and kneels down next to her, caressing her arm as she said, "Mother! Mother."
Lyra crouches down next to her concerned but still wary as she asked, "What does she need?"
"Blood," Anna said turning towards her.
"Before you even think about doing what I think you're going to do, let me help her," Lyra said as the ball of light turned into a ball of fire, warning her to back off, thankfully she did so as she looked between her mother and the ball of fire in fear. Lyra seeing that she had backed off changed it back to the white ball of light just as Stefan came rushing towards where they were as he said concerned, "Lyra!"
"Stef wait, don't freak out, let me help her," Lysandra said to him.
"You can't help her unless you feed her your blood, which I'm not going to let you do," Stefan said sternly.
"I'll give her a little of mine to wake her up before giving what I gave you to calm you down, there'll be no physical contact I promise, just let me help her, she's her mother," Lysandra said pleadingly and Stefan gave up and let her go.
"Do not give too much ok. You're already exhausted enough," Stefan said concerned, but he knew there was no point fighting with her, she would get her way in the end anyway.
"I'll be fine," Lysandra said reassuringly before she used her magic to cut a slice in her hand, and conjured up a cup to pour it in, she filled it before lifting up the woman's head and helping her to drink it. Anna watched all this in shock, a witch willingly helping a vampire, she couldn't believe it as she looked at the girl beyond grateful.
When the cup was empty, Pearl turned towards Lysandra, seemingly ready to attack. Thinking quickly, Lyra pulled out the blood pop and placed it in the vampire's mouth. She hadn't been able to do it before because Pearl's lips were too painful to part, and the lollipop wouldn't fit. Now, with the liquid blood consumed, the situation allowed for this alternative. Anna gasped in surprise as she saw her mother returning to life, her strength seemingly restored with each passing moment. Anna caressed her mother's face, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.
Her mother weakly takes the lollipop out her mouth to say, "Annabelle."
Lyra smiled at their interaction before offering the girl one, "Here, try it, it's called a blood pop."
Anna took it from her hesitantly before popping it in her mouth, her eyes widening at the burst of flavor, it was more delicious than any human blood she's ever tasted and way more fulfilling, she didn't think she'd ever felt so full in her life. She took it out of her mouth to say, "What flavour is this?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, now we should really get out of here," Lysandra said as she looked at Stefan and he nodded before she gasped as he lifted her slightly before speeding out of the tomb. What she didn't expect was for her to be thrown forward at the entrance, she used her magic to right herself before turning back confused, her eyes widened when she realized Stefan couldn't get through, he was leaning exactly where the entrance was.
"Shit sorry Lyra!" Stefan asked pushing at the barrier, it was just like the one when he hadn't been invited in, he had a slight hunch something like this would happen, Sheila had agreed way too easily.
"What is going on?" Lyra asked concerned.
"The spell allows vampires in but it won't let them out," Elena explained sadly as she looked at him except his eyes were on Lyra.
"Please tell me you didn't know that when you went inside," Lyra said pleadingly.
"I-I had a slight hunch but it's gonna be okay, we'll fix it," Stefan said reassuringly.
"You absolute idiot! What were you thinking?!" Lyra asked him with tears in her eyes. Stefan looks down, not answering as she said, "Oh my God!"
"I panicked, they said you were inside, I just...I couldn't lose you again." Stefan said softly. Lyra went up and hugged him as she said, "If you're stuck here, you know I'm going to stay too, right?"
"No you are not," Stefan said immediately pulling her away from him as he looked down at her sternly.
"Just try and stop me. If you push me out, I'll apparate back inside," Lysandra promised defiantly. He groaned, pulling her closer and resting his head against hers, exasperated. "Why do you have to be so stubborn?"
"It's all a part of my charm," Lysandra said smiling up at him as Elena watched on jealously.
"We can't leave him in there. We promised him. Both of us." Elena interrupted their moment.
"I know." Stefan said to her before turning to Sheila who said, "Even if we're able to break through the seal, we won't be able to hold it for long."
Stefan ventured back into the tomb to search for Damon, with Lyra following despite his protests. Damon continued to search the tomb for Katherine, frustration evident as he kicked the dirt beneath him. "She's not here," he muttered, disbelief coloring his tone.
"What?" Stefan asked, confused by Damon's demeanor.
Damon pulled out a blood bag and turned, shouting, "She's not here!" He hurled the blood bag against the wall, splattering it with crimson liquid. Lyra looked away, discomforted by the anguish on his face; it brought back painful memories of the war she had just escaped.
Meanwhile, Sheila and Bonnie recited the spell to lift the seal, and Elena circled around them anxiously. Suddenly, the torches flared up, and Elena glanced toward the tomb, exclaiming, "I think it's working!"
Anna emerged from the tomb, surprisingly steady as she supported her mother Pearl, who didn't appear as weak as they had anticipated given her long confinement.
"I just wanted my mother back. Jeremy's fine. He's outside. I won't touch him," Anna promised before leaving with Pearl, just as the torches began to flicker.
"Bonnie, keep going!" Sheila urged, then turned to Elena, "They better hurry."
"Stefan, they can't hold it much longer!" Elena shouted out just as the torches extinguish themselves. Bonnie looks faint and Sheila doesn't look much better, Elena notices this but didn't know what to do.
"Damon, we need to get out of here," Stefan said to his brother.
"It doesn't make sense. They locked her inside." Damon said confused.
"If we don't leave now, we're not getting out," Stefan said trying to make him understand.
"How could she not be in here?" Damon asked brokenly.
"It's not worth spending all of eternity down here. She's not worth it!" Stefan said trying to grab Damon but he shouts, "No!" as he angrily pushes him away.
"Shit! They can't hold on any longer!" Lyra exclaimed, feeling their magic wane. Realizing they needed more time, she closed her eyes and summoned her power, creating a ball of pure white light in front of her. The glow made her features appear almost ethereal as she sent it directly to the center of the ritual. "There, we've got a little more time," she said faintly, on the brink of collapse. Stefan looked at her, alarmed. "Damon, please!" she implored.
He hesitated for a moment, then grasped her outstretched hand. She quickly took Stefan's hand as well, and together they apparated to the entrance, where she pushed them both out. The experience was less nauseating for them but still a shocking rush.
Bonnie and Sheila continued chanting the spell to maintain the seal, but Bonnie suddenly gasped for air and fell to her knees. "Oh my God. I can't!"
"Yes, you can," Sheila encouraged her, but just then, a burst of bright light shot from the tomb toward them, invigorating their magic. They continued the spell effortlessly. Moments later, they all appeared at the entrance, and Lysandra nearly collapsed before Stefan caught her.
They still continue chanting since they needed to close the tomb. Elena had been about to embrace Stefan when he came out when he caught Lyra and held her to him and she huffed in irritation, she could have just used the wall, instead of being so dramatic she thought annoyed. The door to the tomb suddenly closes and the torches die out and that was when Lyra asked, "You both alright? I tried giving as much as I could but I'm pretty sure if I gave more of my magic, I would have passed out."
"We're fine. thanks to you. You helped us quite a lot," Sheila said appreciatively before looking at her concerned as she leant on Stefan. "You should rest child."
"I will, hopefully soon. I really miss sleeping on proper beds," Lyra said, the beds in the camps weren't as comfortable to be honest.
"What do you mean by that?" Stefan asked concerned before seeing her exhausted face, he sighed then as he said, "You're telling me everything later."
"You know I will," Lysandra said with a smile but it wasn't as true as the ones he was used to, there was something bothering her, he wouldn't ask now though, she needed to rest first.
As Elena exited the tomb, she sprinted toward Jeremy, who was beginning to stir. "He's okay," Stefan called out as he held Lyra, still leaning against him.
Elena knelt beside Jeremy, relief washing over her as she observed him groaning awake. "He's all right," she breathed, a smile breaking across her face.
Just then, Damon stepped out of the tomb, looking utterly miserable. Lyra's heart ached for him. Without hesitation, she pulled away from Stefan, a little unsteady, and walked over to Damon. She enveloped him in one of her signature hugs—an embrace that all her friends adored. It was her way of offering comfort, and she wished he could feel it. He didn't deserve this. No one did. It wasn't fair, that bitch was more heartless than she thought.
Damon stood there, emotions swirling inside him - anguish one moment, rage the next, followed by an all-consuming numbness that felt strangely comforting. After a few seconds, he began to lean into her embrace, hesitantly wrapping his arms around her as she tightened her hold. He didn't know how long they stood like that, but when she finally let go, he frowned slightly, perplexed by the warmth he had felt in her arms.
Looking up at him with soft eyes, she brushed a strand of hair from his face and cupped his cheek. "I'm so sorry. You deserve better."
Just as she started to walk back to Stefan, Lyra winced, her hand flying to her head. She had pushed herself too hard; her body protested. Suddenly feeling dizzy, she stumbled slightly, only to be caught by a pair of strong arms. Looking up, she met the gaze of beautiful blue eyes. But before she could say anything, her vision blurred, and her world faded to black.
