I do not own Harry Potter or the Vampire Diaries

As the Bennets make their way home, they surprisingly don't feel as winded up as they would have been had the girl not helped them.

"I need to thank the Little Witch, without her I would probably be deader than a doornail," Sheila said as she walked to the kitchen to grab a drink.

"Don't say that Grams," Bonnie scolded.

"You think I'm joking baby?" Sheila asked her, and Bonnie suddenly realized that her Grams was being serious.

"Y-you're serious?" Bonnie asked just to make sure.

"As a heart attack," Sheila said and tears filled Bonnie's eyes at that, she could have lost her Grams because of what happened today, the only reason she didn't was because of that girl, Grams was right, she really needed to thank her.

Elena carried a glass of water and an Aspirin into Jeremy's room and hands it to him as she asks concerned, "How's your head?"

"Uh...it's alright. I just...I wish I knew how I passed out. I didn't drink that much, I swear." Jeremy said knowing what she must be thinking.

"And you don't remember anything?" Elena asked just to make sure.

"The whole things pretty cloudy. I just...I know how this looks. I'm...I'm sorry." Jeremy apologized.

"No, Jeremy, don't be sorry. You didn't do anything, okay?" Elena said reassuringly.

"Yeah, okay," Jeremy said his head throbbing.

" I've got to head on over to Bonnie's for a little bit, but is there anything that you need?" Elena asked him.

"No, I'm just...I'm gonna crash." Jeremy said though in reality, he was going to do anything but that.

"Okay, well, Jenna's here and I'll be back soon," Elena said before leaving. Once Jeremy was sure she was gone, Jeremy gets up from his bed and goes to his computer, and googles the word "Vampire."

Pearl and Anna go back to the motel room. Anna turns on the light and gets a shock when she sees Damon sitting in a chair in the corner of the room.

"You knew Katherine wasn't in there," Damon said to the girl glaring at her in rage.

"You wouldn't have helped me," Anna said nervously.

Damon vamp-runs at Pearl and grabs her by the throat as Anna screams out in desperation, "No! No!"

"Why do you get a happy ending?" Damon asks with a broken look on his face as he tightens his hold on her neck.

Anna rushes towards him and shouts out in fear for her mother, "Damon, please! You wouldn't have helped me, you know you wouldn't have!"

Damon then grabs a hold of Anna, restricting her movement as he said, "Why do you get it and I don't?"

"The guard. The one at the church. The one who locked us in. She promised to turn him. He was obsessed with her. She had him under her spell, like everybody else. He let her go." Pearl quickly said to get his attention off her daughter, thankfully it worked as he releases his hold on them. Anna wraps her arms around her mothers and looks up at Damon as she said, "Last I saw her was Chicago, 1983. She knew where you were Damon. She didn't care."

Damon was beyond hurt at her words, Anna sees that and could only muster up a sorry before embracing her mother as Damon leaves the motel room.

Elena had knocked on the door of Bonnie's house, as Sheila opens it except she didn't move aside for her to enter.

"Uh can I see Bonnie?" Elena asked confused since she never had to clarify that before.

"I'm afraid she doesn't wish to see you right now, she's tired and wishes to rest," Sheila said to the girl, though she knew it wasn't because of that, when realizing what could have happened Bonnie hadn't come out of her room and told her not to let anyone come to her, especially Elena.

"Oh that's alright, I'll come later then," Elena said before walking off and calling Stefan on the way back home.

"I just got to Bonnie's, apparently she's a little too tired to see me right now," Elena said with a roll of her eyes.

"Everything alright?" Stefan asked from the other end.

"Yeah. How's Damon? Is he gonna be okay?" Elena asked him concern in her voice.

"I don't know. Can I call you later?" Stefan asked.

"Yeah, of course," Elena responded before she left to go home.

Stefan had been about to rush over to pick up Lyra from Damon's arms to take her home except Damon had picked her up and went with her himself and he followed behind them. They had just entered their house as Damon put Lyra on the couch before sitting on the other one staring into the fire.

Stefan walks into the parlor after them before going towards Lyra. He picked up her head before sitting down, letting her rest on his lap as he brushed his fingers through her hair, not noticing Damon's eyes flickering over to them for a second with an unreadable look on his face before staring back at the fire. Stefan looked down at Lyra in concern, he knew she had done too much today he thought as they both sat in silence.

It was a while later when Stefan felt Lyra moving, he looked down at her and saw her scrunched-up face and felt concerned that she wasn't feeling comfortable in this position, which was confusing since this had happened many times before. It was then she began to gasp as she thrashed around slightly, Stefan's eyes widened as he realized she was in the throes of another one of her nightmares and he stopped her from falling off the sofa as she tossed and turned on his lap. When she began screaming, he knew he couldn't help her in the position they were in so he got off the sofa and crouched down next to her trying to hold her down, he was expecting it to be honest but it still hurt when he was flung to the other side of the room.

Damon got up at this wondering what the hell to do as Stefan got up off the floor groaning. The girl was sobbing now as she curled up on the sofa and Stefan immediately went back to her side as he said, "Lyra, hey, it's fine, it's just a nightmare, you're okay, everything's okay. I need you to breathe, ok, just take a deep breath and let it out. Lyra, it's ok, you're not there anymore, it's fine. Come on Lyra, breathe." Stefan kept on muttering anything he could come up with to her and finally she managed to calm down before shooting up from the sofa. She looked around frantically before her eyes settled on Stefan as she said, "Steffie?"

"Yeah it's me Lyra," Stefan said and she immediately sobbed as she hugged him her body falling onto his lap as he held her before standing up with her weight and settling back on the couch as he rubbed her back, completely forgetting about Damon being in the room. Damon looked at the girl in what he didn't want to admit was concern, she had just had a nightmare and was now crying her heart out and her cries were honestly beginning to get to him.

"H-He's gone. He's gone Steffie. They killed him and now he's gone. H-He's never c-coming back. It's not fair! I want him back! I want him back! Why did he have to die? It's not fair! Why does everyone I love have to die? Why do they have to leave me? I-I loved him and he left me." Lysandra cried out heartbreakingly in his arms.

"Theo? He's..." Stefan asked realizing what she was saying as he looked down at her in horror, she'd already lost so much, and now she's lost the love of her life too. He remembered the way she used to gush about him whenever they used to see each other, no matter how hard her life was, the thought of him always put a smile on her face and now to know he was gone, he swallowed before squeezing his eyes shut. What was going to happen now?

"He's dead Steffie. I tried to wake him up but he wouldn't move. He wouldn't...he wouldn't move! I kept on calling out to him but he still wouldn't get up. He always was there when I called him but he didn't get up then. He didn't get up Steffie! Why! Why did he have to go?! Why?!" Lyra screamed out in literal agony as she clutched onto him tightly. Stefan could only hold her as she cried, what could he say? There was literally nothing he could say to that he thought as a single tear trailed down his cheek.

Damon had gone to the kitchen wanting to get away from her screams, they were literally piercing his brain and he hated the fact that it affected him so much. He couldn't help but think how she had helped him today, then consoled him afterward despite the fact that there was all this in her mind. He looked at the hot chocolate can that Stefan had probably got for Elena and sighed to himself as he made one for the girl, they do say it might help with mending a broken heart, except hers wasn't broken, her screams told him that it was literally shattered. He took the cup to the room and noticed that the girl had calmed down and was now just staring blankly at the fire like he had been just moments ago, as Stefan held her. He added a bit of Bourbon into it figuring that she needed it and handed it to her.

Lysandra looked at the cup that was thrust in front of her and held it as she looked up at Damon and said with her soft voice, "Thank you. You didn't have to do that."

"You looked like you needed it," Damon shrugged as he sat back on the couch, except this time his eyes were on the girl instead of the fire.

"Sorry about that," Lysandra said embarrassed.

"Don't be. It's fine." Stefan said knowing she wasn't going to talk about what happened for a while. She used to do this all the time right after the nightmare, acting like nothing ever happened, it apparently made her feel better.

"Did I hurt any of you?" Lysandra asked concerned.

"No, you didn't." Stefan immediately said and she smiled relieved as she snuggled into him whilst Stefan warned Damon with his eyes to not say anything. Lyra always seemed to know when he was lying, it just showed exactly how out of it she was for her to completely miss that.

Lyra used her magic to cool the drink down a bit before taking a sip, she moaned at the taste as she said, "Is that Bourbon?"

"It is. How did you know?" Damon asked the girl curiously.

"Aside from Firewhiskey, that's my favorite," Lyra responded with a smile.

"Firewhiskey? Never heard of that before." Damon said confused.

"You wouldn't have. Here, try some," Lysandra said as she opened her trusty pouch and pulled out an entire decanter of it from inside it and handed it to him.

"How did that come from there?" Damon asked taking the bottle from her as he looked at the size difference in shock.

"Magic," Lyra said as she magically picked up a cup from the table of other drinks and floated it in front of him.

"Exactly how powerful are you?" Damon asked curiously as he took the cup out of the air and poured himself a glass.

"I'm not that powerful," Lyra said shaking her head.

"Sure," Stefan snorted before he said, "Ow!" when she hit upside the head. "What was that for? I was just telling the truth. After everything you've told me, you really want me to think you're not powerful?"

"I'm not powerful Steffie, if I was then...well, then they would all still be here," Lysandra said staring into the cup, she shook her head at herself before she drained the rest of the cup and got up. "Would you mind if I use your bathroom?"

"Of course not." Stefan shook his head taking the cup from her, right before she left though, she turned to Damon to say, "I suggest turning your face away from anything you deem valuable, like yourself, for example, you're in for quite a shock." She smirked as she walked away. Damon looked at the cup concerned before looking at Stefan, who had an unreadable look on his face, he shrugged before drinking it and, just for safety purposes, did as she said. He certainly did not expect a line of fire to come out of his mouth before vanishing, he frantically looked himself over before calming down when he realized everything was still intact before he heard Stefan burst out laughing.

"Oh, y-you sh-should have s-seen your f-face," Stefan managed to say between his laughs.

"Very funny," Damon grumbled as he put down the decanter refusing to drink from it again, though he had really liked the drink, it was better than Bourbon to be completely honest, he kept side-eying the drink but the reminder of the fire stopped him from taking it.

"Oh just drink the damned bottle, I've seen you looking at it for the past 10 or so minutes, relax, it won't happen again," Stefan assured him.

"I will kill you if that's a lie," Damon said before drinking it again and thankfully there was no fire spurting out of his mouth. "I see why it's called Firewhiskey,"

"Hmm. Lyra played the same trick on me when she offered me a glass, I thought I was going to die," Stefan remembered that time fondly, Lyra had been in hysterics when he had literally screamed.

"When did you meet her?" Damon asked curiously.

"It was around 5 or so years ago, she was only 13 at the time, how I found her is not my story to tell but I basically helped her out of that situation and we've been best friends ever since," Stefan explained as he remembered coming across a girl curled up on floor crying, her entire body bruised, her clothes in tatters. The people she lived with had apparently thrown her out the house and she was left to suffer alone, he had took her in and cared for her. She had been so weary, so afraid at first and refused to go with him but he couldn't leave her there so he forcefully picked her up and vamp-sped to the place he was staying at. It had taken her a while to calm down and for him to explain what he was and that he wouldn't harm her before letting her have the bed since she was so exhausted as he slept on the couch, she had tried to protest, the kind girl that she was, but he had refused to budge so she finally gave up. One day a letter had come in through an owl of all things and she had been forced to explain what she was and basically everything about the wizarding world.

It was then that Lyra entered the room and Damon couldn't help but stare as his eyes ran all over her. He smirked as he said, "You look hot. You should wear my clothes more often."

Lyra choked slightly, her face turning red as she said, "This is yours? Huh. Should have known. It was a little too stylish and black for Steffie." She shrugged before walking over to Steffie and settling back down on the couch as Stefan dragged her bare legs up and put them over his lap. The shirt only went to her mid-thigh covering the boxers she was wearing and Damon's eyes refused to move from her form. "Oy! Stop ogling me! I'm sure you've seen plenty girls before."

"I have, but you are exceptionally beautiful," Damon said with a smirk on his face, flirting with her helped distract him from the pain he didn't want to feel.

Lyra groaned as she said, "Steffie tell your brother to shut it, I'm too tired to argue right now,"

"Why don't you go pick a room and rest?" Stefan asked as he rubbed her legs, she was exhausted and had been on her feet all day.

"If I go to bed, I'm going to sleep and you know why I can't do that right now," Lyra said to him and he understood.

"You need rest though Lyra, you barely got any before you got up. Can't you have some of that dreamless sleep potion?" Stefan asked her concernedly.

"Nope. Never doing that again, I got addicted last time, and it was not pretty. I can't rely on that to let me sleep." Lyra said tiredly, she was honestly so exhausted but she couldn't sleep knowing exactly what she would see if she did.

"You can't just carry on staying awake though Lyra, it's not healthy," Stefan said looking at her with worried eyes.

"Don't you think I know that? What else should I do though? I can't...I can't live through it again. I'm trying so hard not to think about everything but the nightmares always bring it back and I'm too tired to deal with that right now." Lyra explained, her nightmares were the worst, she could feel everything, the emotional and the physical pain, it felt like she was there again, reliving everything, it wasn't fair.

"Let me help you," Stefan said suddenly and she looked at him for a moment knowing what he meant, and nodded at him with a smile. Stefan gestured for her to turn around and she did so putting her head in his lap, she trusted him so she shut her eyes falling asleep in moments, leaving her barriers down for him to enter. Stefan held her hand in his own before shutting his own eyes as he entered her mind, he had done this before for her but not often because she didn't want to get reliant on him. He saw the destruction around him, the deaths, God what the hell had the war done to the place he thought? He saw flashes of all the people she lost that had died in the war, he saw the agonized look on her face as she held Theo in her arms and he quickly manipulated her dream until they were both standing in a meadow. She had always loved nature, she found it peaceful and he smiled as she looked around in awe with the most peaceful expression on her face.

She ran towards him and jumped on his back as she laughed in happiness. He vamp sped through the meadow with her on his back as she whooped in joy before they both finally stopped. He put her down and she stumbled slightly on her feet before he caught and steadied her. She was still giggling slightly as she flopped down on the grass patting the spot next to him and he lay beside her as they stared up in the sky content in the moment.

"Thanks for doing this for me Steffie," Lysandra said softly as she rolled over and rested her head on his chest.

"Anything for you Lyra," Stefan answered softly as he ran a hand through her hair as he used the other as a head rest.

"You're the best brother in all but blood anyone could ever ask for. I love you," Lysandra said as she lifted her head and kissed his cheek softly.

Stefan smiled as he kissed her forehead and said, "I love you too Lyra. You've always been like a little sister to me and I promise that I will always care for you. Don't hesitate to come me for anything, at any time, ok?"

"I won't Steffie. Same to you though, you can come to me for anything. Whenever you need to talk, I'm all ears," Lysandra said to him with a content smile on her face.

"I know." Steffie said kissing her head once again before he said, "I'm going to leave now, I have to get you to bed or we're both going to have sore necks when we wake up."

Lysandra looked at him and said, "You'll stay with me, please? Just for tonight?"

"I'll stay with you for as long as you need Lyra," Stefan promised as he cupped her cheek in his hand before pulling his mind away from hers. He opened his eyes to find Damon still in the same position as before, his eyes staring into the fire before turning to him when he woke up.

"Never heard of a vampire using that to give another, especially a witch, a good dream before," Damon commented lightly.

"She was exhausted and in desperate need of sleep." Stefan said as he got up off the sofa being careful of Lyra's head. He turned to Damon and said, "Thanks for making her the drink, she needed it."

Damon just nodded at him before Stefan picked up Lyra gently and took her upstairs as Damon watched them go for a second before turning back to the flames.

Stefan lay Lyra on his bed as he lay next to her closing his eyes and once again manipulating her dreams as they both fell asleep in each other's arms, finding peace after such a long time.

Down in the tomb, the blood bag that Damon threw dripped down from the wall. A vampire sits below the pool of blood on the wall and it drips down towards him. Noticing it, he quickly scrounges up enough strength to take it from the wall with his fingers and swallow it. A while later, the vampire gets up, opens the door of the tomb, and walks out a little unsteady on his feet due to how weak it is. He then looks up at the ceiling, finally free.
