I do not own Harry Potter or the Vampire Diaries
Lysandra sat in Teddy's room, cradling him as he fell asleep. After feeding him, she sang soft lullabies, soothing him each time he whimpered or cried. She knew it would be difficult for him without his parents; he was too young to understand why they weren't there to hold him. She stayed with him as long as he needed, only slipping out once he'd drifted into peaceful slumber.
Narcissa entered, concern etched on her face. "Lysandra, darling, are you alright? You look quite pale."
"I'm fine," Lysandra replied, though a faint wince betrayed her. The wound from her last battle felt like it was reopening, disagreeing with the strain of floo travel.
"Are you sure? I know this is hard for you," Narcissa said worriedly.
"I'll manage, Cissa," Lysandra said softly, fighting back tears. "It's just... losing more people. I still hadn't healed from the others, and now, it's like the list of losses keeps growing." Her voice broke before she regained control. "But I'll be fine. I have to stay strong for Teddy after all."
Narcissa watched her for a moment, a calculating look on her face. She saw the quiet strength and motherly love in Lysandra's gaze as she looked at her godson, and finally decided, "They entrusted him to you, Lysandra. If you want, you may take him with you. Perhaps caring for him will help you heal. I understand that he's the one thing you have left from them."
Lysandra's eyes widened. "Really? But—I don't know the first thing about caring for a child." Teddy sneezed, and she looked at him with what she didn't realize was the most loving smile on her face.
Narcissa's smile softened. "You'll learn. Trust yourself."
"Mother's right. You defeated the Dark Lord, raising a baby can't be that hard in comparison," Draco said coming into the room.
"You might not want to say Dark Lord anymore Draco," Lysandra said worriedly. If people heard him say that, it would not end well if they think he's still a supporter of Voldemort. "People might get the wrong impression."
Draco sighed. "I know; I'm working on it."
"Good. Wait, where's Goldilocks?" Lysandra asked concerned. Narcissa looked confused at the name but Draco understood, she had already explained to him that reference.
"They captured him and locked him in a temporary prison until the trial which is in a month's time because of all the other prisoners they captured and have to put on trial. Until then, he has to rot in there. The wizengamot trials take ages after all," Draco said resentfully.
"Let me do something, I can try to persuade Kingsley to make it earlier," Lysandra said, she had to use her status but she didn't care about doing that when she could help family.
"You would do that?" Narcissa asked hopefully, she desperately wanted to see her husband again, it was always hard to be parted from him. She couldn't bare to think what would happen if he was actually sent to Azkaban.
"Of course. It's Lucy," Lysandra shrugged as they both chuckled at that name. Draco was used to her weird nicknames for people though so he rolled his eyes at her.
"Oh wait, I was going to tell you that you left your bag on the couch and there was a weird sound coming from it," Draco said shrugging his shoulders as he handed her the pouch.
"Oh shit," Lysandra said as she put Teddy back in his cot and took the pouch from his hands, she couldn't be bothered with trying to dig around in that bag of hers so she just willed for her phone to be in her hand and it shot out of the pouch as she grabbed it. She quickly went to her contact page and called Stefan, it only rang once before he answered.
[Town Square]
Stefan wandered around the Town Square, his mind racing with worry about Lysandra and why she'd been urgently called away. He hoped it wasn't anything serious. Just then, Alaric approached, nodding a quick thanks for meeting him.
"Jenna told you," Stefan guessed.
"Yeah." The weight in Alaric's expression confirmed it—Isobel, his wife, was truly Elena's birth mother, and that likely meant she was dead. Alaric asked what Elena knew, and Stefan crossed his arms, clarifying, "You mean about your wife?"
Alaric's face tightened. "About everything—about you and your brother."
Stefan explained that Elena knew what they were and that Alaric knew too. Alaric pushed further, demanding if Elena knew Damon's role in Isobel's death. Stefan shook his head. "I haven't told her. Not until I know for sure."
"But you said you'd help," Alaric pressed.
"I did ask him, indirectly. He doesn't remember." Stefan held firm as Alaric urged him to try again, cautioning that Damon wasn't stable. Alaric's temper flared. "He murdered my wife, or at the very least made her a meal. Since when has he ever been stable?"
"Don't push it," Stefan warned.
"Give me one good reason not to. I have every right to get answers and every reason to kill Damon afterward."
"Let it go."
Alaric got angry at that and said, "Is that what you'll tell Elena? Let it go?"
Stefan took a step closer, his voice low and firm. "Leave Elena out of this."
Alaric, unfazed, met Stefan's stare. "If you were in my shoes, you'd want answers too."
Stefan exhaled, calming himself. "Do you have a photo or something? I can show it to Damon; maybe it'll jog his memory."
Alaric reluctantly pulled a photo from his wallet, handing it over. Stefan pocketed it just as his phone rang. He quickly answered, relief flooding him at the sight of Lyra's name.
"Are you alright, Lyra? Is everything okay?" Stefan's concern was evident.
"I'll tell you later, Steffie. I'm fine," Lysandra replied, trying to reassure him.
"You're sure?" He sensed something in her tone, but he'd let it go for now.
"Yep. Gotta go now, see you soon." She was about to hang up.
"Yeah see you later. Wait, next time, please tell me before you go there so I don't have to hear it from Damon, I was getting really worried."
"You worry too much, Steffie! But fine, I'll warn you. This time was an emergency - and I was drunk, so sue me." She chuckled just as a baby's cry came through the phone. "Ok I've gotta go!"
"Wait, was that a baby..." But the call disconnected before he could finish. Stefan stared at his phone, perplexed.
Alaric frowned. "Who was that?"
Stefan shrugged, smiling to himself. "The best thing that ever happened to me... but God, does she give you grey hairs."
"You're a vampire, you don't age," Alaric said with furrowed brows.
"And we can't get illnesses either, but I'm pretty sure that girl will give me a heart attack one day," Stefan said fondly.
"I thought you were with Elena?" Alaric questioned confused.
"I am. Lyra's my best friend, more like a sister than anything," Stefan said to him before he walked off leaving Alaric confused about who this Lyra girl was.
[Malfoy Manor]
Lysandra gently laid a now-calmed Teddy back into his crib. With Narcissa's permission, she borrowed a simple dress, determined to deal with Lucius's situation at the Ministry, even if it meant pushing aside her own grief. She left the Manor and, despite aggravating an injury, opted for floo travel, feeling dizzy as she stumbled slightly in the corridor.
"Not a fan of floo travel, Miss Potter?" Kingsley's amused voice sounded from nearby as he approached.
"Doubt I ever will be, Kingsley. And how many times must I remind you? It's Lysandra. We're friends, aren't we?"
Kingsley smiled. "We are. Lysandra, then." They walked together, chatting.
"Have you seen Molly lately? How's Georgie holding up?" Lysandra's concern was clear.
Kingsley sighed. "Molly's struggling, and George hasn't left his room."
"Oh. I'll see them soon after I get my own shit together. Anyway, how is rebuilding Hogwarts going?" Lysandra asked in concern.
"It's been quite hectic, you should have seen Wood's face when he looked at the Quidditch pitch. Poor lad was horrified," Kingsley chuckled.
Lysandra laughed at that before she said, "I'm pretty sure he'd still think it was still recuperable even if the entire pitch was burned down. Honestly, his obsession with quidditch is downright concerning but I can't blame him."
"No I suppose not," Kinglsey chuckled before he asked in concern, "How are you doing Lysandra?" He knew what had happened at the battle, practically everyone in the wizarding world knew what happened so he was admittedly really worried for the girl.
"As fine as I can be Kingsley," Lysandra sighed before suddenly becoming serious as she said, "I'm here for an important reason that I need your help with."
"What is it?" Kingsley asked his face becoming serious when he saw the no-nonsense look in her eyes.
"You can't keep Lucius in there for a month when there is enough evidence to prove he was not on the wrong side. He has a family to look after, the others can rot longer inside wherever you're keeping them, a prison is still a prison, whether it's Azkaban or the holding cells here andtheydeserve to be there but Lucius doesn't. He's been helping me the entire time despite the potential danger to him and his family, I promised I'd protect them and I did but now I have to protect him. He'sfamilyand you know exactly what I'd do for family," Lysandra said seriously.
Kingsley met her determined gaze and, with a sigh, said, "I'll do what I can, but the high-risk prisoners need to go to Azkaban first. Then I'll push to prioritize Lucius's trial."
"Thank you Kingsley. Just make it as quick as possible, he has a wife and child who need him," Lysandra said laying a hand on his arm before turning to go floo back to Malfoy Manor.
"Lysandra, I'm sorry about Andromeda and the Nott kid. I heard what happened and I'm truly sorry," Kingsley said feeling sad for his friend knowing that he had only mentioned two of her long list of lost loved ones but right now, they were the most significant.
Lysandra turned back to look at him with a blank look on her face before she just nodded at him shrugging her shoulders as she said, "Thanks Kingsley. It is what it is." She then grabbed the floo powder from the metal container at the side and called out Malfoy Manor as the green flames encompassed her once again.
When she went back, she told the two of them that she had done what she could and the rest was up to Kingsley so they all hoped that he would make his trial earlier. She didn't want to worry Stefan any more than he was so she told them she'd leave in an hour, which she just spent having some fun with Draco as Narcissa cared for Teddy wanting to give them time to be kids for once.
"Dray! Put me down!" Lysandra squealed as he threw her over his shoulder.
"We're going flying!" Draco said racing outside the house and setting her down in front of the shed pulling out two broomsticks and raising a challenging eyebrow at her as she said, "You, me, race to the barn at the other side of the house."
"Very well, Dray. May the best flyer win," Lysandra said, grabbing her broom. They shared a smirk, then launched into the sky. As usual, Lysandra won—by just a second. "Woohoo! Yeah! How does it feel to lose to the absolute wonder that is me?"
"Like I'm about to hex you," Draco teased, grinning as she bolted inside the house to avoid his "hex." Their laughter filled the room as they playfully sparred with harmless spells, trying to dodge Narcissa's reproving looks. They finally collapsed on the sofa, breathless, with Lysandra resting her head on Draco's lap.
"That was fun," Draco chuckled.
"Yeah," Lysandra agreed, but her joy faded as memories of Theo surfaced—their playful moments together now only a bittersweet memory. Tears welled up as guilt crept in, fearing Theo might think she'd forgotten him, that her heart had moved on.
"Ly, what's wrong?" Draco asked, noticing her change in demeanor.
With a sob, she buried her face in his shoulder as he gently rubbed her back, struggling to comfort her. "Why did he have to go, Dray?" she whispered, voice choked.
Draco sighed, feeling the depth of her pain. Theo's death had shattered them all, but Lysandra's grief was sharper, her bond with Theo beyond mere friendship. He cradled her closer, letting her grieve. "I don't know, Ly. I wish I did," he said softly.
As her sobs subsided, Draco suggested, "What if I came with you to Mystic Falls for a bit?"
"But what about Cissa?" Lysandra asked concerned.
"We can all go together, it'll be like a family holiday after the war, Teddy will obviously come too. What do you say?" Draco asked and he already knew the answer from the smile on her face.
"Yes! Let's go. This'll be fun," Lysandra said happily.
"Alright, I'll let Mother know. I'm sure she's as eager to leave this house as I am," Draco replied. The memories of Voldemort's residence lingered heavily at Malfoy Manor.
Within half an hour, they packed everything they'd need, including baby supplies Narcissa's house elf, Tinky, had packed and resized for Lysandra's pouch. She told them what to say before they all whooshed away to the Salvatore Boarding House.
[Salvatore Boarding House]
They all came out one by one, Narcissa and Draco gracefully and Lysandra on her ass as she pouted up at their laughing selves.
"Stop laughing at me. It's not my fault that floo travel hates me," Lysandra whined as Draco helped her off the floor, his laughter stopping when he saw her wince.
"Hey you alright?" Draco asked concerned as he just now noticed her pale complexion.
"Yeah I'm fine, must have hit my side against the chimney," Lysandra said before telling them she was going to go and change out of the dress she was wearing, it was too fancy and she needed something casual. She had already informed Narcissa that she couldn't wear robes here causing her to look horrified which she had laughed at. She had shown Draco her own clothes to show him what kind of clothes Cissa could wear before telling them both to get ready using their magic to conjure up clothes.
She then quickly left them alone and went upstairs to Stefan's bedroom where she took out her clothes from her trunk that she enlarged and walked inside the bathroom. She winced when she saw the bloody mess of the cut and she quickly and painfully cleaned herself up sealing the wound again before tightening bandages across her waist. She then changed into the clothes she picked out for herself and made her way downstairs to see Draco in the room looking completely different out of wizarding robes and instead in a shirt and jeans.
"Someone's looking dashing," Lysandra said as he turned around smiling at her.
"You look beautiful Ly," Draco said as his mother entered the room an uncomfortable look on her face at what she was wearing.
"Is this really necessary?" Narcissa asked, she's always worn dresses and robes that were floor length so wearing such a dress and without any trousers or leggings underneath just had her more uncomfortable but apparently it was the norm here.
"You look beautiful Cissa but if you're really not comfortable with it, we can get you a shirt with jeans instead and you can wear a long cardigan on top to make you feel more comfortable," Lysandra said understandingly. Narcissa agreed to that option feeling too exposed in the dress so Lysandra sorted out that for her before they changed Teddy and put him in the pram Lysandra enlarged from her pouch, and they left the house. "You guys hungry?"
"I could eat, yeah," Draco said nodding his head before Lysandra looked at Narcissa questioningly.
"I wouldn't mind a bite," Narcissa said with a smile at her so Lysandra set off to the town's to-go restaurant, Mystic Grill.
[Mystic Grill]
Alaric was sitting at the bar, drinking a glass of bourbon just as Damon walks up to and stands next to him. Damon orders a bourbon from the bartender as he takes a seat beside Alaric and it was poured into a glass before being given to him.
"Behold the teacher. Don't you have some papers to grade?" Damon asked.
"It's, uh, more fun with a buzz," Alaric said trying to control his anger at the man sitting next to him.
"Well, most things in life are. Sober's depressing," Damon said.
"You don't strike me as somebody who gets depressed," Alaric said, no the vampire before him was heartless as they come.
"You say that like you know me," Damon said suspiciously. he could see that there was something off about the guy but he didn't know what and that irritated him.
"Nope. Just a hunch," Alaric said as the two exchanged a long look before he finished his drink lacing it down on the bar and bidding good afternoon to the vampire.
"Not likely," Damon responded as he looked at his retreating back with narrowed eyes before his eyes widened when he saw Lysandra enter pushing a pram with a baby inside with two blondes next to her. He didn't know why he hoped that the child wasn't hers before shaking the feeling off as she made eye contact with him.
"Damon!" Lysandra greeted cheerfully, handing the pram to Draco, who took it with a small smile as she leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. Damon's jaw tightened imperceptibly as he witnessed the affectionate gesture.
"Hey, Day, feeling better?" she asked, taking the seat next to him.
"'Day?'" he repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, I could call you other things," she teased, pretending to think. "Let's see... Damie, Dames, Dam... Oh, I know! What about Demon?"
"Any of those would do," Damon replied, smirking over the rim of his glass.
"Demon it is, then! Just kidding," she laughed, playfully nudging him. "Day works. Now, is that bourbon you're drinking?"
Damon rolled his eyes, then signaled to the bartender. "A bourbon for the lady."
"Why wait when I can have yours?" Lysandra reached over, snatched Damon's glass, and took a long sip, grinning as she drained it. He watched her, amused by her boldness.
"How entirely rude, Lysandra. Guess living with my brother hasn't made you a goody two-shoes," Damon chuckled.
"This one, a goody two shoes? Please, you're talking to a prankster. Spreading mischief and causing chaos is her forte. I would know, I've been on the wrong end of those pranks many times," Draco said coming up beside her as his mother tended to Teddy.
"Hey! I'm not that bad," Lysandra pouted.
""No, you're worse," Draco laughed, shaking his head as Damon's amusement faded, replaced with an inexplicable irritation. Draco turned to Damon, offering a polite smile and an outstretched hand.
"My apologies, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Draco Malfoy."
"Damon Salvatore," Damon replied coolly, ignoring the offered hand. Draco withdrew it, seemingly unbothered.
"Well, that was nostalgic," Draco commented with a smirk.
"Shut up, Dray. We're friends now, aren't we?" Lysandra said, rolling her eyes before giving him a light punch on the arm.
"I'd say we're more than that," Draco murmured, affectionately kissing the top of her head. They were family. Damon's grip tightened on his glass, barely managing to stop himself from shattering it. He forcefully calmed himself down not understanding why it was so hard. After what he had just heard and seen, he wanted nothing more than to rip out the boy's heart and he still just didn't get why.
So, what good food do they have here?" Draco asked, looking around.
"No idea," Lysandra replied before turning to Damon. "Hey, Day, any recommendations on the best food here?" She noticed his tense posture, concern crossing her features. "Are you alright, Day?"
"Perfect," Damon replied tightly, relaxing slightly under her worried gaze. "Just perfect."
"You sure?" Lysandra pressed, resting a gentle hand on his arm, assuming Katherine might be the reason behind his mood.
Damon glanced at her hand on his arm, his eyes softening as he looked back at her. To her surprise, he held onto her hand a moment longer, brushing his thumb over her fingers in a rare moment of tenderness. "I'm fine, Sunshine. No need to worry that pretty little head about me."
"Sunshine?" she repeated curiously, though her cheeks flushed pink. She slipped her hand from his grip, though her slight blush didn't go unnoticed.
"Well if I'm Day, then you're the light, ergo, sunshine," Damon explained shrugging his shoulders as he downed the rest of his drink.
"Oh. So I'm the light to your Day. How sweet," Lysandra said smirking at him as he rolled his eyes.
"Ok cut it with the flirting. I need to have food and you're putting me off of it," Draco said dramatically.
"I wasn't...we weren't...I wouldn't..." Lysandra said shaking her head before she abruptly got up and left to go to the bathroom.
"Hey, Ly, stop," Draco quickly pulled her back by the arm. "I was joking, alright? I know you love Theo. But just remember, there's nothing wrong with moving on. He wouldn't want you to be alone forever, okay?" He cupped her face gently, his voice soft with sincerity. Lysandra's hands rose to cover his briefly, giving them a small, grateful squeeze. She released him and turned away, heading to the bathroom. Draco sighed as he watched her go, rubbing a hand over his face before settling back into his seat.
"Another of the same," Damon ordered, noticing the blonde next to him could probably use it. As he handed over the drink, he recalled Lysandra's emotional night before. From the looks of it, Draco and Lysandra weren't a couple; she was still clearly mourning this Theo. Damon felt a twinge of understanding. They were both on the same page he guessed, they both lost the loves of their lives, no wonder she was so understanding of him.
"Thanks," Draco said nodding his head at him before draining the entire drink. "Hmm. What's this drink called?"
"Bourbon. You've never had it before?" Damon said shocked, normally first timers always choke on the taste and the burn down their throat but the boy hadn't look phased.
"Nope. You know about what we are don't you?" Draco asked curiously, this must be the vampire's brother. He remembered his name from Lysandra and knew that he was a vampire too.
Damon looked at him and said, "So you're a witch too?"
"Wizard," Draco corrected. "So since it was pretty obvious in your eyes what you were wondering, that's why I can drink the drink so easily. Once you've developed a taste for Firewhiskey, everything else pales in comparison."
"I can attest to that. That drink was mind-blowing but damn does it give you a hell of a hangover," Damon said rubbing his head slightly.
"Ask Ly for a hangover potion, she probably has one in that pouch of hers," Draco said before he noticed his mother walking up to him with Teddy in her hands.
"Draco is everything alright with Lysandra?" Narcissa asked concerned having seen her walk away.
"She's fine mother, or at least she will be," Draco said helplessly shrugging his shoulders at her just as a blonde woman came over to them.
"Daytime drinking, huh?" Liz asked him before looking up and noticing the two blondes.
"It's all the rage," Damon answered.
"Oh hi I've never seen you here before. What's your names?" Liz asked politely.
"We're visiting," Draco said, then gave Narcissa a polite glance, adhering to pureblood customs where one should introduce only themselves. "I'm Draco Malfoy."
"And I'm Narcissa Malfoy. Pleasure to meet you," Narcissa added with a gracious smile.
"You as well. I'm Liz Forbes. The town's sheriff." Liz smiled before her attention shifted to Teddy, who was sleeping on Narcissa's shoulder. "And who's this little cutie?"
"Edward Remus Lupin, but we call him Teddy," Lysandra chimed in as she returned, taking Teddy from Narcissa.
"Is he yours?" Liz asked not wanting to judge though even if the girl looked to be a teenager.
"No, he's my Godson. His parents had entrusted him to me before they..." Lysandra swallowed not being able to say the word as she pictured Remus and Tonks on the floor side by side hand in hand. Guess they really did take 'Till death do us part' literally. "Well you get my point."
"Oh. I'm sorry." Liz said apologetically, she could see they meant something to her and obviously them being dead affected her a lot. Damon didn't know why he felt the urge to sigh in relief when he heard that the kid wasn't hers, why would it make a difference to him if it was? It wouldn't have he told himself.
"It's fine. You guys are probably hungry. We should order," Lysandra said changing the subject as she asked for a burger and fries, Narcissa got the same after a little persuasion from her since she had been set on only taking salad at first.
"Well if you need anything than you can come to my office which Damon can direct you to," Liz said to them with a welcoming smile as they smiled back at her before leaving as Draco stayed to finish off his drink and order since he hadn't yet decided.
"What's the girl's name? I forgot to ask," Liz asked.
"Lysandra Potter," Draco responded and she nodded in thanks.
"Listen, I need a favor," Liz said turning to Damon.
"You ever been in love?" Damon asked running his finger over the rim of his glass lost in thought.
"Excuse me?" Liz asked not expecting the question.
"Have you ever been so bent on someone, just to have your heart ripped out by them?" Damon asked.
"You forget I was married," Liz said a slightly pained laugh in her voice.
"Right. Gay husband," Damon said before gesturing to the barman and asking for another of what he's having for Liz before patting the seat next him telling her to sit down as she did so.
"There's a fundraiser here tonight that the Founder's Council is throwing. The town's most eligible bachelors get raffled off for dates, and, well, we're short two bachelors," Liz explained.
"Is this what you do when there's no, um..." Damon lowers his voice just slightly as he asks, "Vampires? Organize bachelor raffles?"
"Relax. I know about vampires. Lysandra and I are quite skilled in hunting them actually, We dropped out of our last year in Boarding school for personal reasons and have spent quite a while just hunting them down. We have a reason for doing this, one that Ly would rather I not share so I can't. You see I will be leaving soon with my mother and she's going to be here by herself with her Godson. I need her safe and therefore I need her to be in the loop of things so she can protect herself and Teddy. This is why I am telling you all this. Damon can vouch for us can't you Damon? Lysandra is one of his brother's oldest friends after all," Draco said raising an eyebrow at Damon who looked at him for a moment before nodding. Draco knew Ly had completely forgotten about a cover story for herself so he had already made it and was going to tell her later.
"That I can Liz. They're trustworthy. I've known her long enough to know that. Sorry I didn't inform you of her beforehand. I just realised she came back to meet my brother yesterday," Damon said putting an apologetic look on his face as he looked at her.
"Oh well that's fine. I trust you Damon and if you trust them then so do I," Liz said sending a nod to Draco who nodded back with a polite smile on his face. "Anyway, Damon look, you're a hero to this town, Damon. I know most people don't know it, but you are, and you're single and a catch. Oh, come on, help me out. Carol Lockwood won't let me live it down if I come up empty-handed."
"You know, a room full of women clamoring to win a date with me. Sounds tasty," Damon said causing Liz to laugh in relief as she thanked him.
"Now I just need to find one more. Perfect," Liz huffed.
"What about Draco over here? He's visiting, but he'd be a hit," Damon said sending a smirk Draco's way, who didn't mind considering the number of parties he's went to from his youth till now. Being a pureblood could be tiring sometimes.
"Are you a bachelor?" Liz asked him curiously.
"Yep I'm single," Draco said nodding his head.
"So would you mind?" Liz asked the handsome blonde hopefully.
"Of course not. I'm happy to help," Draco said agreeably as Liz thanked him in relief.
"One thing. Can you get information on someone for me? Alaric Saltzman, the history teacher. There's just something a little off about him, and I just - I just wanna make sure that the high school did their homework on this guy," Damon said to her finding something fishy about him. Liz gets up and agrees to as Damon thanked her before she left.
Damon takes a swig from his glass of bourbon before he said, "Smart."
"It's clear she trusts you implicitly so I had to use that to my advantage. I'm not a Slytherin for nothing," Draco said with a smirk on his face as he drained his glass before ordering his food.
"A Slitherwhat?" Damon asked confused.
"How much do you know about the Wizarding World?" Draco asked keeping his voice down.
"That it apparently exists, you use chimneys to travel, you use a weird blue light thing in the shape of random animals to communicate and you're like the fairytale witches in books with magic wands and stuff," Damon summed up.
"You haven't even scratched the surface yet. You're in for a long talk with Ly, that should be entertaining," Draco smirked before he took his mother and Ly's orders making his way back to the table as he smiled seeing the two most important women in his life with bright smiles on their faces as they laughed at the antics of a now awake Teddy.
"Here's your food my Ladies," Draco bowed and presented them before laying it down before each of them.
"Why thank you peasant. You are now dismissed," Lysandra said pompously turning her head away from him to her food but she couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing at Draco's offended face.
"You little shit," Draco said as he sat next to her and she quickly scooted away as he came closer and began tickling her in the side. She laughed trying to bat his hands away before apologizing quickly and he took mercy on her as he stopped tickling her not even noticing the stares they got from others who couldn't help the smiles on their faces as they heard her laugh and witnessed their antics. Draco wrapped his arm around her waist as they talked about random things whilst Lysandra kept on slapping Draco's hands away from her fries.
"Here," Damon said putting the plate in front of the boy. He had taken it from there to give to him because he didn't want to disturb the family. Well he said that but he just liked to see Lysandra happy for some reason so he just took it there instead.
"Thanks," Draco nodded at him gratefully.
"Come sit with us Day," Lysandra said gesturing to the seat besides Narcissa, who was trying to feed Teddy who was too busy babbling to eat.
"Maybe another time Sunshine," Damon said looking at the baby in what could be described as fear.
"Oh relax Day, Teddy doesn't bite, do you Teddy?" Lysandra said snorting in amusement before nearly choking when as soon as Teddy looked at her, his brown hair turned blonde as his brown eyes became green. Damon moved quickly to hide the kid from where most of the people were, using his body as his eyes widened in shock at what he just saw. Narcissa immediately whispered a quick wandless glamour charm before they subtly looked around and sighed in relief when no one seemed to have noticed what had happened.
"Thanks Day," Lysandra said noticing his movement to shield them.
"Anytime, Sunshine," Damon replied, still staring at Teddy in wonder. "How did he do that?"
"He's a Metamorphmagus, someone who can change their appearance at will without the use of any spells, and at this age. It can happen at any time so we should have remembered to put a glamour on him beforehand. Can't believe we forgot," Lysandra explained.
"A metawhat?" Damon asked not catching the word she said.
"A metamorphagus, it's an inherited gene. His mother was one too," Lysandra said smiling sadly at Teddy as he looked around before his eyes settled on Damon and moved towards him. He crawled from Narcissa's lap and pulled on Damon's jacket looking up at him curiously. Damon looked him as if he were some poisonous snake before beginning to back away getting off the seat.
Teddy pouted up at him before tears welled in his eyes and Damon looked even more alarmed at that as he said, "No, no, no, don't cry. Please don't cry. Ok, here." He sat back down with the most self-suffering look on his face and Teddy smiled at that as he crawled on Damon's lap pulling at the jacket with his tiny fingers.
Lysandra was holding it in for a while but couldn't anymore when Damon's face was so hilarious and she burst out laughing, Draco following right after her, as Narcissa covered her mouth with her hand to hide her amused smile. Others around them were also trying to hide their laughs, they knew Damon from around town so it was hilarious to watch.
"This is not funny," Damon said seriously but even he couldn't hold in his smile when he saw her laughing. She was literally bent over the table in hysterics and the blonde boy wasn't in a better state. He looked at the woman next to him and found that she was also finding amusement at his current state. "You too? Seriously?"
Lysandra took pity on him and went to his side as she picked up Teddy from his lap. Damon nearly gasped at their close proximity as she picked up the kid, her hair flowing down right in front of him and he had the urge to run his hand through it for some reason. He looked up into her beautiful eyes as they met his, amusement still shining in them and he couldn't even break his gaze from hers.
Lysandra noticed his odd state and waved a hand in front of his face which seemed to jolt him out of it as he immediately got up but that only made them even more closer as she stepped back slightly in shock only for her to stumble. Damon quickly caught her and made sure the child was secure as well, he then looked into her grateful eyes for a moment before hightailing it out of there not understanding what was going on with him.
