A/N: This is the third part to Now What? and Arizona - Part 1. I don't own any of the characters except my own.
Arizona - Part 2
The next morning, Hank woke up but Olivia and the boys were still asleep. Olivia had her head on his chest, so he ran his fingers through her hair. She then woke up.
"Morning, Handsome."
"Morning yourself, Beautiful."
They kissed each other.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
They started kissing again and then the boys woke up.
"Morning, Mom. Morning, Hank."
"Morning, Sweetie. Morning, Daniel."
"Morning. Papa, you up?"
"Yep. Happy birthday, Buddy!"
"Thank you."
"Happy birthday, Daniel!"
"Thank you."
Then they heard a knock at the door.
"Can I get that?"
"Sure."
Noah went to answer the door, while Hank took Daniel into the bathroom.
"Who's there?"
"It's Erin."
Noah opened the door.
"Morning, Erin."
"Hey."
Erin came in and then Noah went into the bathroom.
"Happy birthday, Daniel!"
"Thank you."
Once Noah came out of the bathroom, Olivia went in. Once she came out, got back into bed with Hank.
"Did I wake you guys up?"
"No. We were awake."
"I have to be at Olive's by 10 to help decorate. They are having the party at the Clubhouse, so they can use the pool as well."
"Maybe I'll go with you and then Hank can bring the boys later."
"Works for me."
"Me too. Olivia wants to go to the Grand Canyon, so we're thinking about doing that tomorrow. If Noah doesn't want to go, I was going to see if he could stay with Olive."
"If not, he and I could hang out together. If he decides he wants to go, I'll come too."
"That's fine."
"So, how is everyone?"
"Fine."
"How's everyone in Chicago?"
"Everyone is good."
"Good."
"Are we going breakfast before Erin and I head over to Olive's?"
"Yeah."
Erin went back to her room to get ready, while Olivia went to take a shower. Noah got dressed and Hank helped Daniel get dressed. Once Olivia was done in the bathroom, Hank went to take his shower. Once everyone was dressed, they went to get something for breakfast. They came back to the hotel and Erin and Olivia got their stuff. Erin met Olivia at her room and after Olivia kissed Hank and Noah, the two of them headed over to Olive's. On the way over, they stopped at a store, so Olivia could get a present for Daniel's birthday from her and Noah. When Erin arrived at Olive's, they got out of the car and went to ring the bell.
"Erin, it is so good to see you. I'm glad you could make it."
"I'm glad I could too."
"Hank is keeping the boys busy until the party."
"Good. I don't need him in my hair. How is my birthday boy?"
"He's great. Hank took him out for breakfast. We met Greg's in-laws last night."
"They've been here already. Greg took them over to his parents to see Zach after we all talked. They said they talked to my father-in-law. Remind me to thank Hank later."
"How was dinner last night?"
"It was great."
"Where'd you go?"
"Longhorn Steakhouse."
"That sounds good."
"Anything happen between the two of you yet?"
"No. We're taking things slowly and one day at a time. We've known each other for a while but there's really no rush. I know it's only been 3 years since Justin died but it helps to spend time with someone who's been through the same thing I have. Not only that, the boys get along really well. Zach never knew his mom and Daniel hardly remembers Justin. I've showed him pictures and he knows that was his daddy but he doesn't really remember him."
"That makes perfect sense to me. It is important to me that the person I'm with develops a relationship with Noah and is a suitable father figure for him. He and Ed never really bonded and Ed just wasn't father material. Hank on the other hand loved him from the moment they met and Noah loved him too. Noah bonded with Peter Stone quicker than he did with Ed but then again, Peter played baseball with him."
"Hank never thought he was the best father to Justin. He had a better relationship with me than he did with Justin most days. We all knew Justin could be a screw up. When Justin got out of jail, Hank had sent me to pick him up and the moron tried kissing me. We were practically brother and sister."
"He was definitely a screw up at times but he was an amazing husband and father."
"He was. He definitely grew up once Daniel came along. He was a great dad but I think a lot of that was you. You were good for him just like I've always thought that Liv was good for Hank. It wasn't until he met her that he even thought about getting involved with someone again. Now if he would only leave Chicago."
"I would love to be able to get him to leave Chicago but I'm not going to push it. We're just starting with being in an actual relationship. I don't want to scare him off. I'm lucky to have seen a softer side to Hank. There is a big difference in him in the bedroom compared to the Interrogation Room. That's for sure. I never would have expected that."
"Ew!"
"Ew, what, Erin?"
"I just can't picture him being romantic at all. We're talking about the man that I have looked up to like a father for all these years. I saw him kiss Camille before but he never really went out of his way to hold her hand in public or anything like that. He would never kiss her in public either."
The three of them headed over to the clubhouse to decorate for the party. When Greg got back, he joined them. Hank arrived with Noah and Daniel. Hank and Noah both kissed Olivia.
"Mommy!"
"Hey, you. Did you have fun with Papa?"
"Yeah!"
"Why don't we all go play miniature golf later?"
"I love that idea."
"Me too."
"Greg, are you and your son interested?"
"I actually have to go into work tonight. I'm also scheduled to work tomorrow."
"I hated pulling double shifts on patrol."
"I've been thinking about taking the Detective's exam. Is it worth it?"
"More money but you get called to scenes at all hours."
"Yep."
"Exactly."
"Didn't you say your parents might be moving?"
"Yeah. Both of my sisters' husbands got transferred out of state and they both asked my parents if they wanted to go with them. One is going to New York and the other one to Chicago. They haven't given them an answer yet because of me. All my sisters say is that Zach and I will be fine. They're not selfish at all, are they? My mom watches Zach, so saying we'll be fine is a bunch of crap. My sisters get whatever they want. I'm afraid that if my parents leave, I may have to go wherever they go, which I don't want to have to do. I hate that I have to be so dependent on my parents. That's like starting my life completely over. I don't know that I could work in a city as huge as New York or even Chicago. I'd probably get lost."
"I know what it's like to go from a big city like Chicago to an even bigger city like New York. I worked with Hank up until a couple years ago and Hank has been a father figure to me ever since I was 15. He shaped me into the person I am now and my mother hates that. Now I'm with the FBI and I'm based out of New York. Thankfully though, I wasn't completely on my own in a new city. Liv and her squad were there for me from the very beginning."
"The thing is, I do want to see where this relationship with Olive goes. I don't want to have to just up and leave that either."
"I have family in both cities but yeah, long distance would suck."
"If you did decide to go if they go, I could probably get you a job somewhere within the CPD."
"I could probably do the same with the NYPD."
"Thanks. I appreciate that. I am hoping it doesn't come to that though. This is all that Zach has known. I don't want to uproot him from this."
"By the way, Hank, thank you."
"For what?"
"For talking to Zach's grandparents."
"We're in the same situation where we both just want to be a part of our grandsons' lives."
Daniel wandered off and went to look at all the decorations, so Noah went after him.
"I know they got Zach a trip to Disneyland at the same time I did for you and Daniel."
"They told me. They said that they would love to have the four of us come over for dinner one night, so they can get to know me better."
"I'm also paying for the hotel. I gave them my credit card information and everything is taken care of."
"Hank! You did not have to pay for us to go to Disneyland and our hotel. On top of that, Erin is paying for the airline tickets."
"This is an expensive trip. All you need to take care of is the rental and whatever you buy at the park."
"We were talking about doing Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios and the Hollywood Walk of Fame while we're out there too but we will take care of that."
"My parents are coming too. It was their idea and they said that it would be hard for us to go on what we want with the boys."
"True."
"Hank, just keep in mind, Noah is going to want to go to Disney now."
"I don't doubt that. I'll see what I can do."
"Can I come?"
"How old are you again, Erin?"
"You know how old I am, Hank. Think about it this way. I can spend time with Noah, giving you and Liv some time to yourselves. I'll even pay for my own airfare and room."
"I'd probably get a suite anyway."
Noah and Daniel came back and Zach came in with all four of his grandparents.
"Hi Daddy."
"Hey, Buddy."
"Hi Olive."
Hey, Zach. Zach, Max and Rose, this is my father-in-law Hank, his girlfriend Olivia Benson, her son Noah and Daniel's aunt Erin Lindsay. These two are Greg's parents Max and Rose and this is Zach."
"It's nice to meet you."
"You too."
"Hi."
"Hi Zach. It's nice to meet you."
"You too."
"Greg, your dad and I discussed the situation. We decided that we are not going to go with either of your sisters. We haven't told them yet though. It's more important for us to be here with you."
"No doubt they'll call me a mama's boy. I didn't ask for this."
"No, you didn't. I have a feeling that they'll say we can come back here in the winter. That's not the point. You work year round and sometimes double shifts. Olive works, so she has to get up in the morning to get Daniel ready to take to daycare before she goes in. Sure Zach goes to daycare but what happens if Daniel isn't at daycare for whatever reason and you get stuck at work. Zach could get sick and you shouldn't have to take off all the time. Your sisters don't seem to get that."
"I will help in any way I can and Greg knows that."
"Same goes for you. If you get into a bind and need us to get Daniel, we will be more than happy to help out."
"I appreciate that. Thank you. Hank, do you have plans for the 4th of July?"
"It probably depends on Olivia. Why?"
"I'm off both for the holiday and the day after, so I was thinking of bringing Daniel to Chicago. Maybe leave after work on Wednesday and stay until Sunday."
"Can you and Noah come to Chicago?"
"Yeah, probably."
"I was thinking about doing that myself."
"Greg, would you and Zach be interested in going?"
"I'll check into that if I can get the time off. I know Mom and Dad are in Europe on a cruise then and I wouldn't want to inconvenience my sisters at all."
"We're on our cruise to Alaska then. If we weren't, we would come stay with him."
"Well, I guess if I can't get off, you can take Zach with you if it's not a problem."
"It shouldn't be."
"Even if I can go and if Karen is there by then, I won't go see her."
"We don't blame you at all."
"When does our party start?"
"Soon."
"The decorations look good."
"Thanks."
"Hank, did you remember the swimsuits?"
"Yep. They're in the car. Olive, is it ok if I give him his present now?"
"Sure."
Hank pulled out the folder with Daniel's present and handed it to Olive, so she could explain it to him.
"Papa got passes for Disneyland for when you get out of school."
Daniel's eyes lit up and then he gave Hank a big hug.
"Thank you, Papa! I love you!"
"I love you too!"
Max and Rose gave Zach his too, so Greg told him that they were going at the same time Olive and Daniel were. Both boys were glad to know they were going together.
"Thank you, Grammy and Grampy."
"You're welcome, Sweetie."
The guests started arriving and then the party got started. Everyone swam, played games, ate and both Daniel and Zach opened their presents before everyone left. Once the party ended, the families stayed at the pool for a little while longer.
"That was a great party, Olive."
"Thanks. I'm glad you and Noah came."
"I'm glad Hank invited us."
"When do I get to go to Disneyland?"
"I'll check into arranging something. I might take you to Disney World, which is in Florida instead."
"Thank you."
Olivia rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Zach, I have to work tonight and tomorrow, so you're going to stay with Nana and Papa again tonight, ok?"
"Ok, Daddy."
"We're planning on going to play miniature golf later, so you're all welcome to join us."
"That sounds like a plan."
They stayed at the pool for a little while longer and then everyone left. The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. Greg went in to work, while everyone else went to play miniature golf and have dinner. Erin decided to keep Noah with her for the night, so Hank and Olivia could spend some time alone. Erin and Noah both decided that they would not go with Hank and Olivia to the Grand Canyon, so they could spend the day alone. Erin called Olive and asked her if she and Daniel wanted to do something with her and Noah. She agreed.
The next day, Hank and Olivia left for the Grand Canyon and stopped for breakfast on the way. Erin and Noah had breakfast and then headed over to Olive's to spend the day at the pool. By the time Hank and Olivia returned, they made love before they fell asleep in each other's arms.
The next morning, none of them wanted to head back to New York or Chicago. Hank and Olivia made love and spent some time just being in each other's arms before they got ready to meet Erin and Noah to go have breakfast with Olive and Daniel. They all met at a restaurant and Erin and Olive could both tell that Hank and Olivia were closer than ever after spending the day together. That made them both happy. They said their goodbyes to Olive and Daniel and headed to the hotel to get their things before they headed to the airport. Hank and Erin returned the cars and they went to the Terminal. They got checked in and went through security.
"Hank, thanks for this."
"You're welcome."
"Thanks for bringing us here, Hank. I had a good time."
"You're welcome, kiddo."
"It was good to see you, old guy. Come visit me."
"Let me know when you're available. You're coming to see me for the 4th of July, right?"
"Yep. I want to see everyone in Intelligence."
"I'm sure I'll see you before then. I'm going to try to go out there to see Olivia and Noah next weekend depending on how crazy things get."
"It's always crazy in Chicago."
"That it is."
"Right now, I should be around that weekend but that could change. If I'm around, we'll all have to get together. I usually talk to Liv quite a bit, so I'll let her know what's going on."
"Sounds like a plan."
Erin hugged Hank.
"Love you."
"Love you too, kid."
Then Noah hugged him.
"Love you, Hank."
"Love you too, kiddo. Take care of your mom."
"I will."
Olivia had tears running down her face.
"I hate this part."
"I know. I do too. We'll see each other in 11 days. We'll make this work."
"I know we will. I love you so very much."
"I love you too."
Hank and Olivia wrapped their arms around each other to hold each other close. They kissed and then they headed to their separate gates to wait for their respective flights. Olivia had Erin and Noah to talk to but Hank was by himself. He knew he had a lot to think about regarding his relationship with Olivia but he also knew he was in it for the long haul. He loved her but he also loved Noah and he could not imagine his life without either of them in it.
