A/N: This was an idea I came up with after the end of the 10-10-19 episode of SVU. I don't own any of the characters.

First Recital

Olivia was so proud of Noah and of his decision to take dance. He seemed to pick it up right away. His first recital was coming up and Olivia was inviting everyone. Hank, his entire squad, Trudy and Mouch were coming in but Hank hadn't necessarily been supportive of the dancing thing though. He thought he should have stuck with baseball but Olivia told him that she fully supported Noah and she was happy that he was happy. Olivia's squad, Jesse, Billie, Erin, Lucy, Don, Munch, Ed, Melinda and Trevor were all going to be there as well and Olive and Daniel were even coming in for the weekend.

When the group from Chicago arrived in New York, everyone got their cars and headed to the hotel or in Hank's case, Olivia's. When he arrived at the apartment, he let himself in. Lucy was there with Noah, Jesse and Billie.

"Hey, Hank."

"Hey, Lucy."

"Hank!"

"Hey, kid."

"I'm glad you could be here for my recital. Did everyone come?"

"They did. Olive and Daniel's flight will be in soon and Erin is supposed to be picking them up. Where's your mom?"

"At work. Where else?"

They heard a knock at the door, so Hank went to answer it. It was Ed.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Hey, Uncle Ed."

"Hey there, kiddo."

"Are you ready?"

"I'm going."

Noah went to get his stuff, while Lucy went to help Jesse in the bathroom and change Billie's diaper.

"How are you with all this?"

"I wish he had stuck with baseball but I guess I'll have to live with it. What do you think about it?"

"I kind of feel the same way you do. He guess he just lost interest and found baseball boring after Peter left."

"I know I need to be around for him a lot more than I am but it's hard being in two different cities."

"If you were here more, would you have made him stick with baseball?"

"Technically, I really have no say in the matter. I've tried to get him interested in sports and have taken him to games, whether it was baseball, basketball or hockey."

"Is he not even interested in that anymore? I watched sports with him too."

"He still wants to watch sports but he doesn't want to play them."

Then Olivia arrived at the house.

"Hello."

"Hey."

"I know both of you are not too happy about this but I would really appreciate you being supportive of his choice to do this. It's something he wants to do. There's nothing wrong with a boy wanting to dance. All I want is for my son to be happy and he has finally found something he is really good at. What would you do if Olive told you that Daniel wanted to dance?"

"I have no say in the matter, just like with Noah, so why even bother asking my opinion?"

Once Noah was ready and Amanda arrived, they headed to where the recital was being held. When they arrived, Noah went to change and Hank decided to sit as far away from Olivia as possible but they were in the front row. If he had any idea that she was going to treat him the way she was, he never would have flown out there in the first place. Ed sat by Hank and his squad and then the others filled in. Olivia was at the other end of the row. Erin and Olive sat by Olivia but Daniel decided he wanted to sit with Hank, so he walked the entire row.

"Hi Papa!"

"Hey, Buddy!"

Daniel gave Hank a hug and a kiss and then he gave Ed a high five. Erin came down to see him.

"You ok?"

"What difference does it make? I don't even know why I'm here."

"I took him to one of his rehearsals the other day because Liv was stuck at work and Lucy had other plans. He's really good. Just be happy that he found something he likes and is good at. Liv wants to know why you're not sitting by her."

Everyone then started moving down and then Olivia came to sit next to Hank.

"I didn't mean for you to get so upset with me."

"I guess I just need to give this a chance."

"I get it. I was kind of surprised that he wanted to do this and maybe I should have discussed this more with you but he wants us to be proud of him."

Olivia put her hand on Hank's knee and he grabbed it. They laced their fingers together and kissed. Erin went to sit by Olive and then the recital started. Olivia had thought about recording it but she saw others in their group doing it, so she was ok with not doing it. After the entire recital was over and everyone gave the dancers a standing ovation, all the dancers went backstage. Olivia and Hank went to find Noah after Hank left Daniel with Olive.

"Mommy! Hank!"

"Great job, Sweetie!"

"Thank you. What did you think, Hank?"

"It was good. I'm proud of you, kid."

"Thanks."

Noah hugged both of them and then he went to change. Once Noah was ready, Noah picked where they were going and they all went out to eat. It would take them a little while to get a table, since they had a big group.

"I enjoyed that a lot. Great job, Noah!"

"Thanks, Uncle Adam."

Adam high fived Noah and then Jay and Kevin high fived him as well and so did Hailey and Kim.

"Great job, kiddo."

"Thanks, Uncle Ed."

"You did good, kiddo."

"Thanks, Aunt Trudy."

Olivia, have you met Vanessa?"

"No, I have not."

"This is Officer Vanessa Rojas, the newest member of Intelligence. Rojas, this is Captain Olivia Benson."

"It's nice to meet you, Captain Benson."

"You too. Have you met everyone?"

"No, I haven't."

"This is Sergeant Odafin Tutuola or Fin as he likes to be called and Detective Amanda Rollins. These are her daughters, Jesse and Billie. This is Dominick Carisi, who was one of my detectives but is now the ADA. This is Trevor Langan, who was a Defense Attorney but helped me when I adopted Noah. This is Don Cragen, my former Captain and John Munch, who was SVU's Sergeant before I was. This is Melinda Warner, the Chief Medical Examiner. This is Ed Tucker, who retired a couple years ago as a Captain. He was with Internal Affairs and then went to Hostage Negotiation before ending up with Conviction Integrity with the DA's office. He and I dated for about a year. This is Lucy Huston, Noah's nanny and this is Noah."

"This is my daughter-in-law Olive and my grandson Daniel. This is Erin Lindsay, who was with Intelligence before she went to the FBI and she's been like a daughter to me since she was 15."

"It's nice to meet all of you."

"You too."

They got seated and had their order taken.

"So, Sarge, how long have you and Captain Benson been together?"

"A little over 2 years. It's been hard being in two different cities. The subject of marriage has come up but one of us has to relocate and I'm guessing that will probably be me."

"Good guess."

"Smart ass!"

Olivia started laughing and then she kissed him.

"You know I love you."

"I love you too."

"When that time does come, Halstead will be running the unit."

"Halstead in charge? That's kind of scary."

"You're real funny, Erin!"

Erin stuck her tongue out at Jay.

"How are you and Will doing?"

"Some days are better than others. Did you hear that Natalie and Will called off their relationship?"

"What? No way!"

"Yeah. He had to go into Witness Protection and by the time he came out, they seemed ok but he got a gun to protect himself and she didn't like that because of Owen. He wouldn't get rid of it completely and she got mad because he lied to her about it. She then started seeing the widowed father of this baby she had as a patient. Will doesn't exactly trust him. One of the sons of the guy he was trying to stay away from hit his car while he and Natalie were talking. She ended up with a brain injury and had some memory loss. Will all of a sudden noticed an engagement ring on her finger and he hadn't seen it prior to seeing her in the ED later on. He just feels like something isn't quite right with this guy. His daughter had heart surgery and his wife was only dead for a short period of time when he started seeing Natalie. He couldn't have been ready for another relationship that fast. I know everyone is different. My dad never wanted to date again after my mom died."

"Hank never did either and now look at him. This is truly the happiest he has been in a long time. Are you going to look into this guy?"

"Will told me not to get involved."

"It's a little hard when it's part of your job."

"Exactly."

"So, Mouch, how are things going at 51? Hank told me about Otis."

"We're doing the best we can. We're all trying to cope with it but it hit Cruz the hardest."

"They were best friends almost brothers, so that's to be expected. I know you're all a family but you just need to try to get each other through it. Just like you did when Shay died."

"Very true. Trudy and I bought Otis' share of Molly's."

"That's great! So, Hank, are you spending any more time there?"

"I go occasionally but I usually want to get home, so I can talk to Noah before he goes to bed. It's just hard not being here with them sometimes. I miss you too."

"I miss everyone too, especially you."

"You ever hear from Bunny?"

"Nope. I told her that I was done with her. She of course blames you."

"When hasn't she blamed me for something?"

"She always does. A part of me has always wondered if you were really my father. She's lied to me about everything else. Not that it really matters. You, Olive, Daniel, Liv and Noah are my family anyway."

"You're our family too."

"I'm glad you and Liv are together."

"Me too."

"So am I."

"Us too."

Olivia rolled her eyes.

"I'm glad we're still friends."

"I'm glad you and Hank get along so well."

"That surprised me, especially since I usually have nothing favorable to say about anyone from Internal Affairs and they are usually the same no matter which Department they are with."

"Here we always referred to them as the Rat Squad."

"Something like that in Chicago too. One of my Detectives was murdered and Internal Affairs tried putting the blame on me. The dirt bag from Internal Affairs is the one that did it."

"Stillwell got what he deserved."

"Sounds like a real Dumb Ass to me."

"Language, Fin."

"Sorry, Liv. I think one of the dumbest things Tucker ever did was believing that Kim Rollins was credible."

"He arrested Liv for murder too, don't forget."

"Yeah but we knew she was innocent."

"That's basically what happened with me too."

"What happened?"

Olivia, Don, John and Fin told the group from Chicago about when Olivia was arrested and then they told them what had happened with Amanda's sister. Then they told them about William Lewis. Hank and Erin of course already knew about it. Olivia was starting to become emotional, so Hank was rubbing her back.

"Dang!"

"My thoughts exactly."

"So, you've got a lot of physical and emotional scars?"

"Yep. I haven't scared anyone off yet. I was with my ex Brian when it happened. We broke up just before Lewis escaped and he held me again. I wanted a family and he didn't. Ed investigated me after what had happened, so he already knew about it when we got together. I didn't scare Hank off either. One of these times, I'm not going to be so lucky though."

"I got your back, Liv. I always have and always will."

"Me too."

"You're one of us, so we have your back too, especially if we want to keep our jobs with Intelligence."

"I have your back too. You know that."

"Yeah, I know that. You have me heart too."

"I know I have some thinking to do."

"About what?"

"About my future. I'm starting to think that I need to be here with you and Noah more often."

"We do have a lot we need to talk about."

Their food arrived and then everyone ate. After dinner, everyone went home. Hank and Olivia tucked Noah in before they went into Olivia's bedroom to make love. Afterwards Hank has his arms around her and she had her head on his chest.

"Did you mean what you said about wanting to be here more?"

"Yeah."

"Does that mean you're thinking about proposing?"

"Yeah. It has crossed my mind. I'll be right back."

Hank got out of bed, put his robe on and went to get something out of the pocket of his jacket. Then he went back into the bedroom and got back into bed with Olivia.

"You know I love you and Noah and nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with the two of you. Will you marry me?"

"Oh, yeah!"

Hank opened the ring box and pulled the ring out, so he could put it on Olivia's finger.

"It's beautiful and it fits perfectly."

"Good."

They kissed and made love again before falling asleep in each other's arms. The weekend seemed to go by quickly. Hank, Olivia, Erin, Olive and the boys spent as much time together as they could and the 4 of them were happy Hank and Olivia were engaged. They also told their friends about their engagement before Hank and his squad left for Chicago and Olive and Daniel left for Phoenix.
