A/N: This is my version of the Rollisi scene from the SVU episode that aired on 10-24-19 and is a request from DaX0315. I don't own any of the characters.
Stressful Night
Olivia had planned to go to Chicago for the weekend but when three cases came up at one time, she knew that wasn't going to happen, especially with Kat being so new to the squad. She knew Fin and Amanda could handle things but she didn't quite trust Kat yet. They were each working on their cases. Olivia had called Chief Garland to fill him in on what was going on and then she had called Hank even though it was late.
"Hey."
"I'm sorry I had to cancel this weekend."
"It's ok. I know you sometimes get busy. I get busy too."
"I didn't wake you, did I?"
"No. I was hoping to hear from you anyway."
"I'll make it up to you. I promise."
"I know you will."
She and Hank continued their conversation but then she heard arguing in the Squad Room.
"When I told you I was transferring to the DA's office, you said you were happy for me."
"And you believed me? How stupid are you?"
"What is your problem, Rollins?"
"You were my partner and you left me. We worked side by side and now you're not here anymore. How do you expect me to feel? You abandoned me."
"I didn't abandon you."
"Yeah, you did."
Olivia had overheard the conversation.
"Honey, I'll call you back."
"Ok."
Olivia ended her call to Hank and went out to the Squad Room.
"Are you two finished?"
"No, Liv, I'm not done with him yet!"
"In my office now!"
Amanda and Sonny went into Olivia's office and she shut the door.
"What's the problem?"
"He abandoned me."
"No, I did not. You said you were happy for me."
"Well, you're an idiot!"
"I am not."
"Yeah, like hell you're not!"
"All of a sudden you're pissed off at me because I have a different job. One that gives me more money."
"When you passed the Bar Exam, you said you had no intention to be a lawyer because you liked being a cop."
"Maybe I did it for another reason."
"Like what?"
"If you haven't already figured it out, I like you Amanda."
"I like you too."
"Well, I mean as more than friends and colleagues."
"Wait, what?"
"I've liked you in that way since before Jesse was born. When you slept with that bartender in West Virginia, I was hurt and when you started seeing Al, I was hurt by that too. I'm guessing you probably don't feel the same way about me but I thought that maybe if we weren't partners anymore, maybe I'd have a chance. I know me doing SVU cases probably isn't helping at all though."
Amanda hadn't said a word.
"I don't have a problem with it but if something does come out of this, Ms. Hadid will need to know about this.
"I assume that because you haven't said anything, you don't feel the same way about me."
"Don't assume that. I need to stop being screwing around. I want to do right by my girls and I want them to have a stable father figure in their lives. Why do you think I asked you to be Billie's godfather? Who am I kidding? I wasn't sure how I really felt about you until you went to the DA's office. I miss working with you all the time. Having you by my side makes this job bearable. The only thing is that I'm not good enough for you and you deserve better."
"Don't say that. You don't know what I deserve."
"I just want someone that I can trust and someone that'll love me and my girls."
Olivia left the room and let them talk. Fin was at his desk.
"Everything ok, Liv?"
"I think it will be."
"They're gonna date, aren't they?"
"Probably."
"It's about damn time! They're as bad as you and Voight. You and Rollins aren't so different."
"Actually, you're right about that, except I don't have children with multiple men."
"You both tend to date men who can't be trusted. Dr. Al and Tucker come to mind. Although Tucker got better but that wasn't one of the smarter things you did. I never exactly liked Cassidy much either."
"Now that I know what he went through, I understand him a lot more. I still care about him just like I do Ed but my heart is with Hank and has been longer than I care to admit. I think Amanda and I both had to make mistakes with our relationships to realize what we were really missing. She really wanted to be with Carisi and I really wanted to be with Hank."
"How did you really feel about Stabler?"
"I cared about him and I was hurt when he just up and left. It took me a while to get over that."
"Would you have ever crossed the line with him?"
"No way! We had each other's back but there's no way I would have let anything happen there. I wouldn't have even considered it if he wasn't married."
"You sure about that?"
"Yes, Fin. Honestly, I feel that I wouldn't be where I am right now if he was still here."
"Makes sense."
Olivia went back into her office and saw Amanda and Sonny making out on the sofa. Fin followed her in.
"Get a damn room already!"
"Sorry."
"Get back to work!"
Sonny kissed Amanda again and then they all got back to work. Olivia had a little bit of time, so she called Hank back.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Everything ok?"
"Yeah. I'm just tired and I desperately need a vacation."
"Lucy has Noah?"
"Yeah and the girls. I miss you so much."
"I miss you too. I should let you get back to work."
"Ok. I'll call you after I get home and finally get some sleep. Maybe we can Skype."
"Sounds like a plan."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Olivia hung up the phone and then they continued working on their cases. Little did Olivia know was that Hank had decided to come see her and would be on the first flight out.
By morning, the cases didn't quite end the way they had hoped but they were over. Fin passed out in the cribs and everyone else decided to go home. None of them really knew what day it was and none of them really cared. All they wanted to do was get some sleep. Olivia knew Noah was at school and Lucy was probably at Amanda's with Billie and Frannie, while Jesse was at Preschool. Amanda told Sonny they would talk more about what happened at the Precinct after she recovered from the longest weekend ever. She went home and crashed. Olivia arrived at her apartment at the same time Hank did.
"I am so happy to see you."
"I'm happy to see you too. I took the week off and left Halstead in charge."
"I need sleep."
She unlocked the door and they went upstairs. They took their jackets off and headed in the bedroom. Olivia took her gun off, put it in the safe and left her badge on the dresser. She took her blazer and boots off and untucked her blouse from her pants before getting on the bed. She was out by the time her head hit the pillow. Hank took his boots off and joined Olivia in bed. He put his arm around her, kissed her forehead and fell asleep next to her. Once Olivia had slept for a while, Hank was able to convince her to take some time off, so they could spend time together. Fin told her she needed it and assured her they would be fine without her.
