A/N: This is the next part to the last chapter titled "Voight Meets Stabler". I apologize that it is taking me so long to update my stories. Some of them I just have no idea where I am going with them. I also had to deal with a personal tragedy 6 weeks ago when my mom and I had a fire in our unit of the condo we live in and lost our 10 year old cat as a result. I've been dealing with all that, which has not been easy and then of course work. I don't own any of the characters except my own.

Welcome Home, Elliot Stabler

Olivia and Noah's flight had arrived in Chicago and Hank had gone to pick them up. Hank told Elliot that he would let him know when they were heading to the restaurant. Hank arrived at the airport and pulled up where Olivia and Noah were waiting.

"Hey, Hank!"

"Hey, kiddo."

Noah gave Hank a hug and then he got into the SUV. Olivia kissed Hank.

"You ok?"

"We have a lead on what happened to Simon."

"What? That's good, right?"

"It appears that Rob Miller is behind it."

"Damn it! Is this ever going to stop?"

Hank wrapped his arms around Olivia as she broke down. He kissed her again and then she got into the SUV, while Hank put their luggage in. He texted Elliot to tell him they were leaving the airport and then he got in. He left and drove to the restaurant.

"How did you know we were hungry?"

"Noah is always hungry."

"That is a true statement. He's a growing boy."

Hank parked his SUV and then they got out. Hank took Olivia's hand and then they walked in. Elliot was waiting for them but Olivia looked like she had seen a ghost.

"What the hell?"

"Surprise!"

"Ever heard of a phone, Stabler?"

"Liv, I get you're pissed. I'm sorry."

"You should be sorry. You have no idea of what I went through after you left."

"Actually, I do. I know about William Lewis, I know about Noah and I know about you and Tucker. I'm back with the NYPD with the Organized Crime Unit."

"You're what?"

"Yeah, I came out of retirement. The investigation into Simon's death crossed my desk and I remembered that he was your half-brother. The case brought me here to Chicago and to the 21st District, where I met your fiancé."

"Wait, the two of you are working together?"

"Yep."

"Oh, geez! You do know that he's the one I compared you two when we first met, right?"

"Yeah. I figured as much."

"I couldn't deal with what had happened after I shot Jenna. I took a leave of absence and did some traveling. When they said they needed someone to head Organized Crime, they asked if I would do it. I hear you're a Captain now."

"I am."

"Congratulations on that. You've really earned it."

"Thanks. I was kind of surprised though."

"I bet Cragen is proud of you."

"He is. You get promoted?"

"Yeah. I'm a Sergeant."

"So is Fin. He wasn't thrilled but he's good at what he does. When I was asked to take the Lieutenant's exam, I asked Fin to take the Sergeant's exam and he said no. Nick Amaro, who was my partner after you left, said he would take it. IAB wanted me to take the Lieutenant's exam and I was told that Nick would never be promoted because of his issues."

"Sounds like Tucker."

"Yeah, it was him."

"I heard about Amaro. How did I get promoted when they wouldn't promote him?"

"It did cross my mind."

"I didn't want to do it but if I'm heading my own unit, then they had to promote me somehow."

"Tucker told me that NYPD Brass didn't want a Sergeant as the CO of SVU."

"It seems to me that Tucker wanted you promoted for a reason."

"He really was a different person, El."

"I'm sure he was but he stepped on a lot of toes over the years."

"He did but he had a hard time trusting people. He admitted that was the reason why he joined IAB. You know what happened to him, don't you?"

"Yeah. He and I may not have ever seen eye to eye but he didn't deserve that."

"Noah, this is Elliot Stabler, my former partner. El, this is my son Noah."

"It's nice to meet you, Noah."

"You too."

They got their table and then they went to sit down. Noah told Olivia what he wanted and went to the washroom. Their server came to take their order.

"Hank told me that Rob Miller is behind Simon's death."

"Yep. Fin said he and Rollins were going to go talk to him and I told Fin to call my unit if he had to. Miller won't get away with this. I can guarantee that."

"Fin knows you're back?"

"He does now. How do I get invited to this wedding of yours?"

"It's pretty much going to be family and close friends but I'm sure you'll be included. Are you and Kathy still together?"

"We are. We worked on our marriage and she wanted me to tell you that I was coming back to the NYPD. I just could bring myself to doing it. I knew you'd be pissed."

"I was pissed and there were times when I wished you had been there. I know if you had been around when Lewis did what he did, he never would have gotten to me again. You would have killed him. If I had known Hank then, he would have too."

"You got me out of a lot over the years too. That Stuckey idiot would have killed me if it hadn't been for you."

"Judge Donnelley says the same thing."

"How is Judge Donnelley?"

"She's doing great. She's actually presiding over our wedding."

"Are you having a big wedding?"

"We'll have 4 each standing up for us. Hopefully. Olive, Hank's daughter-in-law, Erin, his surrogate daughter, Amanda Rollins and Melinda Warner are my attendants. Fin, Carisi, who was one of my detectives and is now the ADA, Antonio Dawson, who was one of Hank's detectives and Adam Ruzek, who works with Hank are standing up for him. Hank lost his son and his best friend, so he had a hard time choosing who'd be standing up for him. Noah and Hank's grandson Daniel are the Ring Bearers and Amanda's daughter Jesse is the Flower Girl.

"Wow!"

Then Noah came back.

"Who is walking you down the aisle?"

"Cragen. I always saw him as a father figure, so I wanted him to do the honor."

"As he should."

"Munch was my second choice if Don wasn't available."

"Makes sense."

"How's the family?"

"Great. It keeps growing."

"Is everyone married except for Eli?"

"Yeah. The twins both got married last year. Maureen's oldest is just like her, so I'm glad for that. Now she knows what she put us through."

"How's Kathleen?"

"She's doing great. Her depression is under control and her husband has been so supportive of everything."

"That's good."

Elliot pulled his phone out and showed Olivia a recent picture of the family.

"Wow!"

"How many kids do you have?"

"Five. Three girls and two boys. This is Maureen, Kathleen, Dickie, Lizzie and Eli."

"Eli is about a teenager now, right?"

"Yep. Kathy is having a harder time with that than she is with having grandchildren. At least he doesn't cause us as much grief as his older siblings did. Well, Lizzie wasn't so bad but the other ones definitely were."

"Justin caused me a lot of grief. He didn't handle his mother's death too well and he started causing all sorts of trouble. He started drinking before he was 21 and got behind the wheel of a car. He caused an accident and the kid in the other vehicle was paralyzed because of him, so he had to go to jail for that. I tried getting him out of it and threatened the one firefighter but I ended up going to jail myself. After I got out, I ended up a Sergeant and was heading my own unit. He and I get along better now. I'm trying to be a better person and set a good example for Noah."

"How did your son die?"

"He was trying to help the widow of a friend of his. She was killed and then we found Justin in the back of his vehicle with a bullet in his head. We were told he was brain dead wasn't coming back to us, so as hard as it was, we removed him from life support. We had just celebrated Daniel's first birthday."

"That sucks. As cops, we can only do so much to help our kids out."

"That's true."

"I'm hoping I don't have too many issues with this one when he's a teenager. Ed told me that since he remarried, his wife had teenage sons, who really tested him at times. I'm not looking forward to Noah's teenage years. I know what you and Kathy went through too and Hank went through a lot of crap with Justin as well."

"Did Tucker get along with his wife's sons?"

"They got along ok and he and Noah got along pretty well too."

"What happened with him?"

"He was assigned to the Fresh Kills Landfill after 9/11 and was going through everything that had been sent there to see if they could get anything to ID some of the victims. They found spots on his lungs just before we started seeing each other and he never said anything. It metastasized to his brain and they gave him 6 months to a year but for some reason, he didn't want his wife to know."

"As much as I never liked the guy, he didn't deserve that. No one does."

"Fin said the same thing and so did Cragen, Munch and Amaro."

"That could have been any of us."

"Exactly. He and Hank got along pretty well when they met and thankfully, Hank was in town when everything happened and I was so glad for that. I had told him that I was planning to go to Ed's retirement party and then after everything that had happened with Rachel Wilson, Ed really tried to make things right. He knows he was hard on all of us. I talked to Hank as often as I could and he knew what was going on. I had no idea Hank was coming in and Ed had actually texted Hank shortly before what happened to tell him to take care of Noah and me. He had no idea what that meant but got on the next flight to New York. I was still at the Precinct trying to figure out how to tell Noah and Hank showed up. As soon as I saw him, I broke down in his arms. We went home and told Noah together after I told Lucy, his nanny, what was going on. Noah understood more than I thought he would. Even though Ed and I really hadn't kept in touch after we broke up, I still cared about him. He took Noah and me to Paris, so that is the one memory I will always have of our relationship. With Hank, our place is Hawaii but that doesn't mean that I don't want to go to Paris with him someday."

"Who's making the move?"

"He is. He's talking about retiring by the end of this year. We're looking to get a bigger place."

"If you want to reconsider the retirement thing, I'd be happy to have you working with me. I realize we're both the same rank though."

"I'll have to think about that."

"That's a scary thought."

"What? Us working together?"

"Yeah, since you're both such hotheads. I'm guessing you haven't changed at all."

"That's a good assumption."

"I have already threatened to arrest Hank once because of how he handles things in. Don't make me do it again."

"When I tell you you have my word, you have my word. When I make promises to you, I keep them. Every time we have worked together, I've played it by the book. Maybe I did get into this guy's face today but I knew he was lying. If I do get like that, it doesn't mean I'm doing it to disrespect you in anyway. You know I love both you and Noah more than my own life."

"I know you do and I have admitted that I've had to get like that once in a while but not like certain other people that I used to work with."

"This case is personal for me because the victim was your family. I know you weren't that close but it was still your family."

"I do appreciate it. I know you'd do the same thing if it was Erin or Olive."

"I would. I love both of them. If I could have been there to help with the thing with Justin, I would have even though we really weren't on speaking terms at the time because you were upset with me for dating Ed."

"I was but I wasn't."

"You were more than you weren't. I showed up for his funeral, didn't I?"

"Yes."

"You know if you had said something to me sooner, things may have turned out differently. At the time, we both agreed that we weren't looking for anything more than what we were doing."

"Whose feelings changed first?"

"Mine."

"Definitely his. You should know better than anyone how bad I am with relationships. Hank has changed all that for me."

"I'm glad you finally found someone to spend the rest of your life with."

"Me too."

They got their food and then talked for a while longer. Elliot had gotten a call about the case back in New York. Martinez was dead and they knew there was a connection to Rob Miller.

"Everything ok, El?"

"Roberto Martinez is dead. We think he went to see Rob Miller."

"This needs to stop. Miller isn't going to quit making my life a living hell until he gets out of prison."

"Apparently he didn't cooperate with Fin and Rollins."

"Because he doesn't think he's guilty. You know how these people operate."

"Yeah, I know."

"Can't he be charged for Simon's murder?"

"He definitely can and more than likely, he can also be charged for Martinez's murder as well."

"I'm just getting so sick of looking over my shoulder."

"Liv, I get it. I need to leave in the morning to go talk to Miller myself."

"I think I'll go with you."

"You need to stay here with Liv. I'll keep you both informed as to what's going on. We'll get him and I'm hoping he will leave you alone."

"Thanks."

"No problem. When this case came across my desk, I remembered that Simon was your half-brother. Even though I didn't do such a great job at keeping in touch with you after I left, which I regret, I still care about you just like I always have. I look forward to hopefully working together again."

"I do too."

"Hank, think about my offer and talk it over with Liv before you make a decision."

"Yeah, I will."

The Server left the check.

"I got this."

"Thanks."

"Noah, it was nice meeting you and I look forward to getting to know you better."

"It was nice meeting you too."

Once Elliot got his credit card back, they all walked out to the parking lot.

"Welcome home, El!"

"Thanks. It's good to be back, Captain. That seems so weird."

"Sometime it is."

Olivia hugged Elliot and Hank and Noah both shook his hand. They headed to their respective vehicles and headed wherever they were headed. Once Elliot got back to the hotel, he made his reservations on the first flight out of Chicago in the morning and informed his team and Fin when he'd be back in New York. By the time Hank arrived at the house, they got Noah tucked in and then he and Olivia made love before falling asleep in each other's arms.

By the time Elliot got up the next morning, he had gotten word that Rob Miller had been stabbed to death in prison, so he changed his reservations to later in the morning. He texted Hank to see if he could stop by because he had something to tell Olivia. Hank gave him the address and then he headed over to his house. Hank saw him pull up. Olivia was still in the shower and Noah was upstairs watching TV.

"Hey."

"Hey. Olivia is still in the shower."

"That's fine. I had a message this morning that Rob Miller was stabbed to death in prison."

"Good. The son of a bitch got what he deserved."

"That's for sure. I feel a lot better knowing that he won't be bothering Liv any longer."

"I hope so. I worry about her and Noah when I'm not with them. I know Fin watches out for them."

"Now that I'm back in her life, I will too. Like I said last night, I hope you take me up on my offer but even if you don't, I hope we can be friends."

"We've gotten along pretty well so far. I'll talk to Olivia but I promised myself that I would be the father to Noah that I never was to Justin. I was never there for him when I should have been. I don't want to be like that with Noah."

"I can understand that. At least I got to be around while one of my kids grew up. You're right, we have gotten along pretty well so far."

Olivia came downstairs.

"El. I thought you were leaving."

"I had a message this morning that Rob Miller was stabbed to death in prison and I wanted to tell you in person."

"Wow! I wasn't expecting that."

"Neither was I."

"All I gotta say is the son of a bitch got when he deserved."

"Yeah, he did. Hopefully this will be the end of him bothering me."

"Elliot said he'll keep an eye on you for me too."

"Yeah, I know he will. He always did."

"The next time Hank is in New York, the 3 of you should come over for dinner. Kathy would love to see you."

"I'm sure we'll talk before then."

"I'm sure we will. Hank pretty much said he thinks he's going to turn my offer down."

"I figured he would. I know he wants to be able to spend time with Noah. I would have supported his decision no matter what he decided."

"I need to head to the airport. I'll stop by SVU when you get back."

"Ok. Take care of yourself, El."

"You too, Liv."

"Bye."

Elliot left and headed to the airport and Hank, Olivia and Noah decided what they wanted to do, since they had an entire week to be together. The longer they spent together, the harder it always became when they had to be apart. They knew it would wouldn't be long until they were in the same city all the time.
