A/N: The Voight triplets (Maddie, Marissa and Nate) are back in this one. I don't own any of the characters except my own.
Terrible Twos
Olivia had decided to go to New York for the weekend with Noah to visit everyone, so Hank was in charge of their almost 18-month old triplets. They were trouble. Olivia was glad to get away from them for a few days. Hank told her he'd be fine but she knew it was not going to be easy. Olivia and Noah had left Friday morning and Christina had planned to take a couple days off as well, so Hank was completely on his own. He had gotten everyone dressed and fed without any problems and he had decided to take them over to the District. Olivia called when they got to New York. As soon as he arrived and got the kids out of the SUV, Nate wanted to run around but the girls stayed close by Hank.
"Nathan, don't do that. Stay by Daddy."
"No!"
"Don't tell me no. I'm in charge."
Nathan glared at Hank. Hank chased him and then once he captured him, he picked him up.
"Down."
"No. Come on."
Hank put Nate on his shoulders, while Maddie and Marissa held Hank's hands as they went into the building. Once they got up the stairs, Hank put Nate down.
"Well, look who's here."
"Hi."
"Maddie and Marissa, you two get prettier every time I see you."
"Tank you."
"Me hamsome."
"Yes, Nate. You are."
"Mama bye-bye. Noah bye-bye."
"You surviving without Olivia?"
"So far."
Then Erin came downstairs.
"There are my favorite triplets."
"Ewin!"
Erin put something on Trudy's desk, picked up Nate and Hank picked up both girls before they headed upstairs.
"Hey, Boss."
"Hey."
Erin put Nate down and he ran over to everyone. Then he went into Hank's office and slammed the door.
"Just like his dad."
"Apparently."
Hank had a big grin on his face as he put the girls down. He walked to his office and unlocked it. Nate was sitting at the desk.
"Out!"
"This is Daddy's office."
"No! Mine!"
Nate glared at Hank and everyone out in the Bullpen tried not to laugh.
"Chip off the old block."
"Liv says that all the time. He met his match with Nathan. That's for sure."
Nate ended up dumping everything that was on Hank's desk onto the floor and was laughing as he did it.
"Nathan Richard Voight, no! You do not do that to Daddy's things!"
Nate started pouting.
"Don't give me that pouty look. You were naughty."
"Sawy, Dada."
"You should be sorry."
Then Nate started crying.
"Come here."
Nate went over to Hank and he picked him up. Once Nate stopped crying, he wiggled out of Hank's arms and joined his sisters in the Bullpen. Then Maddie started crying and ran to Hank.
"Now what happened?"
"Guess."
Hank picked up Maddie and then he went out of his office.
"Is he too young to be put in the Cage? Nathan, please don't hurt your sisters. I think we need to go home because you 3 need a nap."
Maddie put her head on Hank's shoulder. Nate sat there with his arms folded in front of his chest. Hank handed Maddie to Jay and then he folded his arms in front of his chest as he gave Nate a look. Nate gave him the same look.
"You miss, Liv?"
"Definitely."
Hank's phone rang so he went into his office and answered it.
"Hey, Babe."
"Hey. How is everything?"
"The girls are fine but I'm about ready to put Nathan in the Cage."
"But he's just like his daddy."
"When he went into my office at the District and slammed the door, that was cute. He dumped everything that was on my desk onto the floor and that wasn't so cute. My coffee mug broke and now all my picture frames broke too. He didn't like to be told no or that he was naughty. He then went out to the Bullpen and did something to make Maddie cry."
"I go through this every day."
"I get that it's not easy and I understand why we needed a nanny even with you not working. I also get that he's going through a phase."
"The girls give me a hard time too. They're not the perfect angels they're being for you. Let me tell you. This is why I needed a few days with just Noah."
"I get it."
"If you want me to come back early, I'll come back early."
"No, don't do that. I'll survive."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"It is very overwhelming with three of them. I'll check in with you later after they're in bed."
"Ok."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Hank hung up his phone and then he cleaned up his office the best he could. He took the girls, while Erin took Nate down to the SUV and strapped them into their seats. He took them home, fixed lunch and put them down for their naps. While they were asleep, Hank did the laundry and got some cleaning done. As soon as Hank sat down to relax, the triplets woke up. Hank went upstairs to get them and brought them downstairs. He set them down in their highchairs while he finished folding the laundry, did the dishes and looked to see what he could fix for dinner.
"Out!"
"No, you need to stay there."
"No!"
"Don't tell me no!"
Hank got them some grapes and Nate ended up throwing most of his on the floor.
"Nathan, don't do that!"
Once Hank had fixed the macaroni and cheese for dinner, he put the bowls in front of all 3 kids and sat down. Nate took a handful of mac and cheese and threw it at Hank. He then put the bowl on his head like a hat and dumped his milk out of his sippy cup.
"Nathan, no!"
"NO!"
Hank glared at Nate and Nate glared right back at him. Nate reached over and knocked Marissa's bowl onto the floor.
"Nathan Richard, I told you not to do that!"
He got a hold of Hank's plate and threw it at him, so Hank was now covered in mac and cheese. Marissa was screaming and Maddie was playing with her mac and cheese. Hank knew what she was about to do.
"Madeline Olivia, don't you dare!"
Maddie threw her bowl at Nate.
"OK, that's it! Dinner is over! I'm giving you your bath and putting you to bed. You got it?"
Hank took the kids upstairs and got their water ready. All 3 of them took off, so Hank had to capture them. He got them into the tub and then he gave them a bath. They splashed around so much that Hank was soaking wet by the time they were done. As soon as he got them dried off, they all took off again. Erin had come in and went upstairs.
"Need help?"
"There are 3 naked children running around."
"GUYS!"
"EWIN!"
They all came in and hugged Erin. She took them to get ready for bed.
"Ok. They are ready for inspection."
Hank went to kiss them goodnight and then Erin tucked them in, while he went to take a shower. Once he was done in the shower, he put his pajama pants and t-shirt on.
"Thanks for your help."
"Yeah, no problem."
"They are little hellions, especially Nathan."
"Daniel is too from what Justin and Olive have said."
"Yeah, I know. Olivia blames me."
"Well, they are Voights.
"True. Justin was a hellion at times too at that age. I sometimes wonder what things would have been like if his twin had lived but then after dealing with those 3 upstairs, I'm not so sure."
"They'll grow out of it."
"Oh yeah, I know."
Erin and Hank talked for a while and Olivia called, so Erin waved goodbye and headed home. Hank went upstairs and talked to Olivia for a little while and then he went to bed. By the time he woke up the next morning, all 3 of them had crawled into bed with Hank. Erin came over and they ended up taking them to the Zoo.
By the time Olivia and Noah got home on Sunday, Hank was so happy to see Olivia. Once they had gotten the kids put to bed together, they spent time making love and just being in each other's arms. Olivia knew it had been a rough weekend for Hank but she had to go through it every day even with the help of their nanny. Hank was just grateful that he and Olivia were raising their family together. Neither of them would have gotten through it otherwise.
