Legacies and Lightening: Chapter 6
With Kurenai and Anko
Kurenai and Anko were both running towards the Kurama clan compound or more specifically to Yakumo's house; as they ran as fast as they could Anko looked over at Kurenai and spoke.
"What the hell is going on Kurenai" Anko asked "what are you hiding from me; what's so special about those pills?"
Kurenai looked over to Anko and spoke "it controls her mental state; it keeps her 'Ido' at bay" she said making Anko confused "Yakumo has a split personality on the inside, an evil entity; those pills were supposed to keep it under control". "But over the past few months me and the Hokage have been upping her dosage; the effects have been wearing off" Kurenai said and Anko looked at her surprised.
"So she has multiple personality disorder, big deal" Anko said "Yakumo can't even beat Naruto in a fight; he's in no real danger".
Kurenai shook her head "no, it's not just that; she also has her genjutsu for him to worry about" she said and Anko got confused "Yakumo's genjutsu is so powerful it can hurt you in real life; any damage or changes become real".
"What? Why didn't I know this" Anko shouted and Kurenai began to get even more worried.
"I haven't been working on her genjutsu; I've been trying to get her in shape and work on the basics" Kurenai said until she began to cry "and now… now it's all come full circle; my negligence put Naruto in danger, the whole village in danger".
"Kurenai shut the fuck up and focus" Anko shouted as she made Kurenai look at her "lets just get to her, give her those pills and get Naruto out of there".
Kurenai took several calming breaths and wiped her tears "ok, ok" she said "her house is up ahead; lets just hope we're not to late". As both women approached the house Anko spoke up.
"Ok, I'll knock the door down and-" Anko began until she and Kurenai stopped cold; the house had no windows, no doors, no crawl space, just walls and a roof "what happened to the door!?"
Inside the house: with Naruto
Naruto holding his Fuma shuriken was looking at Ido just after it launched fire at him; Naruto charged up his fuma shuriken with lightning chakra and it began to buzz as the lightning began to form along the blade.
"Take this ugly" Naruto shouted as he threw his shuriken at Ido; Ido seeing this dodged out of the way and ran into the hallway. The Fuma shuriken stuck into the wall and Naruto ran over and pulled it out before chasing after the Ido "get back here; give back Yakumo" he shouted.
As Naruto entered the hallway he saw Ido standing on the other side and he gripped his fuma shuriken and charged forward as fast as he could "got you now" he said.
"Hehehe" Ido laughed as it made a hand sign "fool".
Naruto took another step and as soon as he did her flew up into the ceiling and hit his head on it "ow, that hurt" Naruto shouted as he rubbed his head; Naruto then realized that he was sitting on the ceiling and the floor he was just on was now above him "what the heck".
Naruto heard foot steps and looked to his side and saw Ido running towards him above him; Ido had inverted Naruto so now everything that was below him was now above him. Naruto got back to his feet and got ready to defend himself when Ido once again made a hand sign; suddenly Naruto's world went back to normal and he fell from the ceiling back to the ground.
As this happen Ido cocked back it's fist and threw a punch at Naruto; Naruto was hit in the gut and sent flying down the hall way until he hit the wall knocking the wind out of him. Naruto was trying to catch his breath when he got back to his feet; he spat out some blood and looked at Ido.
"That all you got?" Naruto asked defiantly and Ido took out it's canvas and began to paint again; Naruto got into a defensive stance as Ido got done painting. A figure popped off the canvas and it had a humanoid body but no features like it was made of nothing but skin. 'What the heck?' Naruto thought as the figure stood there and Ido began to walk away.
The figure began to twitch and morph and Naruto looked on disgusted "ok screw this" Naruto said as he threw his Fuma shuriken at it; the figure reached out and grabbed the Fuma shuriken as it finished morphing and Naruto went wide eyed.
Naruto was looking at Yuui holding his Fuma shuriken staring at him with a dull and expressionless face "Yuui" he said astonished. Yuui did not speak as she charged up the Fuma shuriken and threw it at Naruto; Naruto seeing this bent backwards at a 90 degree angle as the blades passed over him.
The Shuriken stuck in the wall behind Naruto and Naruto stood back up 'nope not Yuui; she wouldn't try to kill me' Naruto thought as he saw Yuui coming towards him. Naruto got into his boxing stance and his single glove began to crackle with lightning 'at least I won't feel bad about hitting her' he thought as he charged forward.
Naruto began to throw punches towards Yuui who began to block and weave past his punches with ease; Yuui ducked under a hook and threw two quick jabs at Naruto's ribs before sending a kick to Naruto's stomach making him stumble back.
Naruto regained his footing as Yuui ran towards him and jumped in the air spinning and throwing a kick; Naruto blocked her kick and grabbed her leg before throwing her back down the hall.
Naruto was breathing heavily as he looked at Yuui get back up 'that thing even fights like Yuui; what is that thing?' Naruto thought 'but it hasn't used any jutsu yet; so it probably doesn't know lightning Jutsu'. As soon as Naruto thought that the figure began to morph again this time getting taller and it's hair growing longer.
The figure now transformed into Kurenai and took out a kunai and Naruto looked on wide eyed 'oh crud' Naruto thought as he took out a kunai of his own.
Outside the house: With Kurenai and Anko
"Fire Style: Majestic Flame Jutsu" Anko shouted before launching a power stream of fire at the house; the house was made of wood and should catch on fire and when the wall was damaged enough they would storm in.
When the fire jutsu hit the house the fire merely hit and died immediately upon impact "what the hell" Anko shouted.
"Yakumo is probably using a jutsu to keep the house from being broken into" Kurenai said "which means we are already inside her genjutsu". Anko looked at Kurenai and spoke.
"How are we inside her jutsu; she hasn't even see us yet?" Anko asked and Kurenai was about to answer before a voice spoke up.
"My genjutsu is more powerful than you can imagine" Ido said as it appeared out of the wall that Anko just hit with her fire jutsu; upon appearing Anko and Kurenai went wide eyed. Kurenai in fear of what was just unleashed and Anko in disgust as she looked at Ido.
"You are one, ugly looking mother fucker" Anko said and Ido looked at her while grabbing it's canvas and began painting.
Ido painted for a few seconds before it's creation appeared off the canvas; created another figure like it did with with Naruto and it began to take shape.
"This should keep you busy while I deal with the boy" Ido said as it went back into the house through the wall.
"Hey your ass back here" Anko shouted as Ido disappeared into the wall; Anko cursed as she looked at the figure taking shape and after a few seconds it was done and Anko went wide eyed. "You've got to be shitting me" Anko said as she looked ahead in fear.
The figure turned into her old sensei Orochimaru looking the exact same way he did when he deserted the village; he had the same pale skin, snake like face, long black hair and blood stained uniform.
Kurenai looked to Anko and spoke "Anko, don't be deceived; that isn't the real Orochimaru" she said; Orochimaru charged forward and extended his neck in order to bite Anko.
Anko ducked under Orochimaru's head and threw a kick but Orochimaru dodged and brought his head back to his body; upon closing the distance Orochimaru attacked Anko first as he began to throw punches and kicks at her.
Anko blocked a punch then a kick before Orochimaru was able to land a solid punch to Anko's face knocking her head back; Kurenai seeing the came in from the side with a kunai and began to slash at Orochimaru who began to dodge and back up.
Kurenai advanced on Orochimaru and continued to attack him with her kunai; Kurenai spun her kunai so that it was in a reverse grip and attempted to stab Orochimaru in the head. Orochimaru caught Kurenai's hand and twisted her arm and disarmed her taking the kunai; Kurenai sent a kick towards Orochimaru and hit him in the ribs knocking him back; Orochimaru charged towards Kurenai with the kunai and sent a slash towards her.
Kurenai was cut across the stomach and jumped back to gain distance; Kurenai landed and looked at her wound seeing it was only a minor wound.
Anko walked next to Kurenai and wiped her bloody mouth "seems pretty real to me" Anko said.
With Naruto
Naruto ducked under a slash from Kurenai and sent a stab towards her; Kurenai used her kunai to deflect the kunai and sent another slash towards Naruto's neck.
Naruto moved his head just in time and the kunai cut him across the cheek drawing some blood; before he jumped back and landed a few feet away. Naruto threw his kunai at Kurenai and immediately went through hand signs.
"Lightning clone jutsu" Naruto shouted as he created three lightning clones and charged towards Kurenai; Kurenai got into a defensive stance as Naruto approached and then a punch. Kurenai ducked under the punch and sent a stab towards Naruto who ducked back and grabbed her by the arm; Naruto proceeded to perform a shoulder throw slamming Kurenai on the floor.
Naruto's three lighting clones proceeded to dog pile on Kurenai and Naruto jumped back "time to fry you" Naruto said as he made a hand sign; all three lightning clones exploded into lightning and shocked Kurenai who began to burn.
Kurenai morphed back into the figure it was at the beginning and stayed on the ground; Naruto looked at the wall behind him and saw his Fuma shuriken and grabbed it before taking off down the hall. Naruto took a left at the end of the hall and saw a pair of double doors; Naruto ran up and kicked the doors open saw a dojo.
Naruto walked in looking around making sure the coast was clear; he was looking for Yakumo or Ido in order to find out how to get out of there. As Naruto approached the middle of the Dojo the wood floor behind him began to rise up and a figure appeared behind him without his knowledge.
Ido rose out of the floor and stood behind Naruto and took a step forward making a light tap with her foot; Naruto spun around and wielding his shuriken like a melee weapon swung it at Ido.
Ido ducked under the blades and drove it's fist into Naruto's stomach before following up with an upper cut; Ido grabbed Naruto's arm holding the fuma shuriken and brought it down fast while raising it's knee. Ido kneed Naruto's forearm breaking it and making the bone pop out of his skin; Naruto screamed in pain and while this happened Ido grabbed Naruto's Fuma shuriken out of his hand.
Ido thrusted the shuriken through Naruto's gut making him cough up blood and fall to the ground; Naruto fell to his side and began to gag on his own blood.
"You were a fool to come here; you cannot match my power" Ido said as it turned around and began to walk away; Naruto passed out from the blood loss and his world went black.
In Naruto's mind scape
Naruto opened his eyes and sat up with a fright and looked around; Naruto was in a dark and decrepit looking sewer and currently sitting in water.
"What the heck" Naruto said to himself as he got back up and looked around; Naruto looked down to his stomach and saw his shuriken was no longer in him and there was no wound 'didn't I get stabbed?'
Naruto began to walk forward confused "is this hell; am I dead" Naruto said to himself; Naruto approached a large set of prison bars blocking his way in front of him. Suddenly from behind the bars there was a loud and booming laughter.
"HAHAHAHA; this is not hell and you are not dead" said the voice; 2 large red slitted eyes opened and stared at Naruto "You merely passed out boy".
"WHAAA" Naruto shouted as he jumped back in fear "who are you, what are you, where am I?".
"SHUT UP BOY" the two red eyes said came forward and revealed itself; there was a large red fox the size of a mountain sitting behind the bars "I am the Kyuubi no Kitsune, I will not tell you my name and this is your sub conscious".
"Why am I here?" Naruto asked and the Kyuubi chuckled.
"You are here because you are weak" The Kyuubi said "you got injured, and now you are here with me; I saw everything, you getting your ass handed to you by that ugly monstrosity".
Naruto frowned "looks who's talking" Naruto said and the Kyuubi growled at him.
"You are lucky I'm behind these bars; otherwise I'd gore you like a pig" The Kyuubi said with hostility "But sadly I have to help you".
"Really? Why?" Naruto asked and the Kyuubi growled.
"If you die so will I" the Kyuubi said frustrated "so I must help you stay alive for my own self preservation". "I will give you some of my chakra; but take heed boy, this is not out of the kindness of my heart" The Kyuubi said; red chakra began to flow from behind the bars and went over to Naruto and began to cover him. "Now boy, charge your lightning chakra over your body" the Kyuubi said and Naruto nodded.
"Fine, but just letting you know; I don't trust you at all" Naruto said and the Kyuubi looked back at Naruto.
"The feeling is mutual brat" The Kyuubi said.
Naruto made a hand sign and began to charge his lightning chakra; Naruto was forming his chakra in the center of his body and after a few seconds life small bolts of lightning began to run across him.
Outside Naruto's mind scape.
Ido took only one step when it felt a presence behind it 'What is that' it thought as it spun around; Naruto was rising to his feet with red chakra flowing off him. The fuma shuriken in his stomach began to be pushed out and landed on the ground with a clatter while his wound healed; Naruto opened his eyes and revealed they were red and slitted.
Naruto began to growl and his red chakra began to fade back into him; as soon as it did that small streaks of red lightning began to dance across Naruto's body. The streaks of lightning began to get bigger and more numerous until Naruto was practically glowing in a reddish hue with his lightning dancing across him.
Naruto looked at Ido as it was caught off guard by this "give… me… back… YAKUMO" Naruto shouted as he released all his red lightning all at once; the result was a pulse of lightning that spread out several feet in all directions.
The red lightning hit Ido as it was too close to avoid the attack; Ido began to scream in pain as it began to flicker in appearance. After a few seconds of being shocked Ido turned back into Yakumo who was screaming in pain from the electric shock.
This lasted only for a few seconds as the lightning died down and Yakumo fell to the ground; Yakumo was twitching as the lightning ran through her system. Yakumo began to push herself up and looked around.
'Where am I?' Yamuko thought before looking to Naruto who was in front of her.
Naruto had a smile on his face "hey… you're back" he said; Naruto's eyes then rolled to the back of his head and he fell backwards onto the wooden floor.
"Naruto" Yakumo shouted as she ran over and inspected him "I got to, I got to-"; Yakumo began to panic until it clocked in her head. "H-hospital; I have to get you to a hospital" Yakumo said as she grabbed Naruto and hoisted him onto her shoulder; Naruto was shorter than her but weighed more and Yakumo struggled with his weight. 'Come on Yakumo; you can do it' Yakumo thought to herself as she carried Naruto with difficulty.
With Anko and Kurenai
Both Anko and Kurenai were breathing heavily and had numerous cuts on themselves as they defeated the Orochimaru they were fighting; as soon as they finished the figure disappeared and everything shifted back to normal.
Suddenly the house had windows and a door and Anko pointed "DOOR" she shouted as she and Kurenai got up and ran over; Anko grabbed the door and almost ripped it off it's henges opening it.
Upon opening the door both women saw the entire inside of the house was trashed and saw Yakumo struggling to carry Naruto out of the hall way "Kurenai sensei; help me, Naruto's hurt" she said despite having multiple electrical burn on her body.
"Kami above" Kurenai said as she ran over and grabbed Naruto off her shoulder "Anko, grab Yakumo; we're heading to the hospital and then informing Lord Hokage".
"Crap, just after he pushed my shit in last month" Anko whined as she picked Yakumo up bridal style "He's going to bust a blood vessel when he hears about this".
"Help the kids first Anko" Kurenai said as she put Naruto over her shoulder; both women ran out of the house and back towards the village.
The next day; Konoha hospital: With Naruto
Naruto opened his eyes with a groan and the light from the ceiling hit him "oh god, everything hurts" Naruto said to himself; unseen by him Kurenai and Yakumo were sitting in two chairs beside his bed .
"Naruto; your awake" Yakumo shouted as she hopped up and ran over along with Kurenai; Yakumo was covered in bandages and had several small burns on her face and arms "Naruto I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to hurt you, can you ever forgive me?".
"Naruto, thank goodness you're awake" Kurenai said giving him and hug "I'm so sorry about everything; it was all my fault, I didn't tell you about Yakumo's condition". "I'm sorry I put you in unnecessary danger; can you forgive me"
Naruto looked at the both of them and spoke "It's no one's fault except that… what ever that thing was inside Yakumo" Naruto said "don't blame yourself Kurenai sensei; you too Yakumo".
"Oh Naruto" Yakumo said tearing up as she went in and gave him a hug; Naruto despite his soreness wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug back "I swear I'll make it up to you somehow".
The door to the room opened and Anko along with the Hokage walked in "what are you two shouting about- Naruto, your awake" she said as she ran over; Anko then proceeded to bonk him on the head and shouted "what the hell were you thinking going in there alone?"
"I didn't plan on it; and there was no door for me to escape" Naruto shouted back in frustration before looking at Hiruzen "Hey Ji-Ji".
"I swear Naruto you've only been a ninja for a month and almost got killed three times" Hiruzen said pinching the bridge of his nose "how are you feeling?"
"Sore, hungry, tired" Naruto said.
"Yakumo told me you defeated her Ido with a lightning jutsu" Hiruzen said "can you try and explain how you did it?"
Naruto hesitated for a moment and looked around to everyone "It's ok Naruto; you can tell us" Kurenai said putting a hand on his shoulder.
Naruto sighed and spoke "when I got stabbed by this 'Ido' or whatever it's called I passed out and met the Kyuubi" he said making everyone go wide eyed "it gave me chakra to keep me from dying".
"What did it say to you?" Hiruzen asked.
"Umm… that I'm weak, I'm an idiot and it hates me; you know the standard stuff I hear on my way to buy milk" Naruto said jokingly but no one laughed "oh come on; I can joke about my situation".
"So you talked to it eh" Hiruzen said "be wary of it's power Naruto; the nine tails is a trickster, it's power is great yes, but it also garners great responsibility". "The power it contains can hurt as much as it can help; it can corrupt you if you let it take hold" Hiruzen said.
"But Naruto used it to help me Lord Hokage" Yakumo said and he looked at her "doesn't that mean he used it for the right reason?"
"Yes he did, he used the power of the Kyuubi to destroy your 'Ido' and free you from it's clutches" Hiruzen said with a tired sigh " but one false step could have lead to catastrophe; it could've killed one or both of you"; Naruto hearing this looked at Hiruzen
"Ok Ji-Ji, I get it; I'll more be careful next time" Naruto said "but with all honesty, with how big of a jerk that thing was; I doubt we'll ever meet up for tea and cookies". Hiruzen chuckled at this and turned around and began to walk out.
"Ok Naruto, get some rest; you've earned it" Hiruzen said "you'll have to be here for a few days until you are fully healed". "Anko, Kurenai; when Naruto is healed bring him to the tower along with Yakumo" Hiruzen said.
"Yes Lord Hokage" Anko and Kurenai said at the same time as he left the room; Anko and Kurenai both looked back at Naruto and smiled.
"Don't be worried Naruto; you did a great job" Kurenai said patting his shoulder making him smile.
"Thanks Kurenai sensei" Naruto said; Kurenai went back in and gave Naruto a kiss on the cheek. Naruto got blushed and giggled as he poked his fingers together making Kurenai and the others chuckle.
"Is there anything you need Naruto?" Anko asked and Naruto shook his head.
"Nah I'm-" Naruto began but suddenly the door flew open and Guy Sensei ran in.
"Naruto, my youthful unofficial student" Guy shouted as he ran over and stood at the foot of the bed "I heard about your battle with a monster; I apologize for not being there to assist you up".
Naruto and the others all sweat dropped at this and Naruto spoke up "it's ok Guy sensei; we handled it just fine" he said.
Guy hearing this nodded and stood up "well Naruto, when I heard you were in the hospital I know I had to cheer you up; so I got you a present" he said and Naruto went wide eyed.
"A present really; what is it?" Naruto asked excited; Guy smiled and opened his collar, grabbed something and pulled it out. Guy pulled out a jumpsuit just like his own only it was orange instead of green.
Anko had a look of horror on her face, Kurenai's jaw dropped and Yakumo had a look of disbelief; however Naruto was now sitting up and had stars in his eyes.
"It's breathable, very well constructed and stretchy; by far the best thing for a growing boy like you can get to make you a handsome beast like me" Guy said and Naruto reached out and grabbed it and held it like it was a piece of treasure.
"Oh my god" Naruto said his voice quivering "this is perfect"; Naruto looked up to Guy with anime tears running down his face. "Thank you Guy sensei" Naruto shouted as he sprung forward and hugged Guy; Guy who also had anime tears running down his face hugged Naruto back .
"Oh Naruto" Guy said weeping.
"Guy Sensei" Naruto said weeping.
"Naruto" Guy said weeping.
"Guy Sensei" Naruto said weeping.
Behind Naruto and Guy sensei a vision appeared of a sunset and waves crashing as Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo looked on in horror.
Anko turned away and found a trash can and began vomiting.
Yakumo was looking on with a blush as unknown by Naruto he was wearing a hospital gown and his back was open showing his bare ass to Yakumo.
'I-is that Naruto's butt' Yakumo thought her blush growing by the second.
Kurenai also seeing Naruto's behind used her hand to cover Yakumo's eyes and closed her own eyes "Yakumo, look away" Kurenai said "Oh my god; what is wrong with you two".
4 days later; Hokage tower: With Naruto and team
Naruto was walking tall while wearing his new orange jumpsuit as he walked with his team to the Hokage office; Anko and Kurenai were barely able to convince him to wear his regular pants "oh man, this this is so comfortable" Naruto said as he walked along.
Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo were all walking behind him looking at the top half of the orange monstrosity Naruto was wearing.
"At least we convinced him to keep the pants" Anko said.
"But sadly we still have the top as a reminder" Kurenai said.
"At least we can't see his tushy" Yakumo said shivering as she remembered "or the sunset".
'The sunset' Anko and Kurenai thought as they both began to feel nauseous; a few seconds later they reached the office and knocked.
"We're here Lord Third" Anko said unenthusiastically as she and the others walked in.
"Why the long- oh my god" Hiruzen said as he saw what Naruto was wearing.
"Hey Ji-Ji; you like my gift from Guy sensei?" Naruto asked as he struck some poses "it's breathable, very well constructed and stretchy".
Hiruzen looked on in horror as his pipe fell from his mouth 'damn it Guy" he thought "it looks… like clothing"; Naruto smiled not catching that Hiruzen hated it. "Anyway, I called you all here for something that was coming all along; something all new ninja have to do" Hiruzen said with a smile and both Anko and Kurenai went wide eyed.
'Oh god no' Anko thought with sadness.
'Don't tell me it's-' Kurenai thought in dread.
Hiruzen pulled out an entire bin of scrolls and placed it on the table "that's right ladies" Hiruzen said with a chuckle "it's D-Rank mission time". Both Naruto and Yakumo got looks of excitement on their faces while Anko and Kurenai let out sighs of disappointment.
'Kill me now' Anko thought while clenching her fists.
'Why me?' Kurenai thought.
"Heck yeah; you hear that Yakumo, D-Rank Missions?" Naruto said excited making Yakumo pumped up too "this is going to freakin' rule!".
