Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 11
Land of Rivers; 2 days after leaving the village: With Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo
Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo all ran through the woods in the land of rivers to make their way towards the targeted location where they were supposed to find the corrupt lord in order to take out him and his hired thugs.
As they ran through the woods Anko spoke up "alright people; we should make camp for the night" she said gaining their attention "we still have another day of travel and it's nearly dusk; moving at night is unnecessary for this mission".
Naruto spoke up "are you sure about that Anko sensei?" Naruto asked "what if he attacks another village while we're out here camping?"
"Don't worry Naruto" Kurenai said gaining his attention "if the information on the scroll is correct he shouldn't be conducting another 'collection' for another day or two".
Naruto hearing this nodded and felt a little more at ease "alright, I hear you" Naruto said; Naruto and his crew found a good area to settle down for the night and stopped "I'll go and get some fire wood".
Everyone nodded and Naruto left into the woods to go and find some fire wood; while this was going on Yakumo was looking at Naruto's back with an anxious look on her face.
A few hours later; at night: With Naruto
Naruto was sitting by a fire as he sat in a folding chair that he brought along sealed up in a scroll; Naruto was sitting in the chair drinking a cup of coffee trying to stay awake while the others slept in their tents.
'Man I'm loving this chair; best twenty five hundred Ryo I ever spent' Naruto thought as he took a sip of coffee; just then he heard a zipper open and saw Yakumo come out of his and her shared tent. "Yakumo? What's going on; you gotta pee or something?" Naruto asked and Yakumo shook her head at this.
"No, I'm fine it's just… I'm a little nervous" Yakumo said and Naruto looked at her.
"Nervous? What about?" Naruto asked and Yakumo fidgeted and spoke.
"About the mission" Yakumo said swallowing hard before continuing "Naruto, can I ask you an honest question?"
"Sure; go on ahead" Naruto said before taking a sip of his coffee.
"W-what is it like to kill someone?" Yakumo asked nervously and Naruto paused mid sip; Naruto took the mug away from his lips and got a far away look "you don't have to answer if you don't-".
"Nah it's fine" Naruto said before waking a deep breath "you wanna know what it's like to kill someone… it feels… freakin' horrible". Yakumo looked at him wide eyed "when I killed Mizuki sensei, the day of my graduation; I threw up and felt a little part of me died inside" Naruto said honestly "but after a while I came to a rationalization".
"What was it Naruto?" Yakumo asked and Naruto spoke.
"Better him than me" Naruto said making Yakumo go wide eyed "he was a traitor who was trying to kill me so I killed him; nothing more, nothing less". "Those people we're going to go and fight are some bad guys Yakumo" Naruto said "don't feel bad about hurting them; because they don't feel bad about hurting others". "The only difference between us and them… we're not going in and fighting a bunch of defenseless villagers" Naruto said; Yakumo hearing this nodded and spoke.
"Thank you Naruto; that helped a lot" Yakumo said with a small smile.
"When it's over and done, if you need someone to talk to; just come to me ok" Naruto said and Yakumo nodded.
"Ok Naruto" Yakumo said before walking over and giving Naruto a hug "I'm heading back to bed; goodnight".
"Nighty night" Naruto said before taking another sip of his coffee 'I like our talks; they are so nice'.
Meanwhile unseen by Naruto or Yakumo, Anko and Kurenai were up and heard this from inside their tent.
"It's nice to know that Yakumo will always have a true friend" Kurenai whispered to Anko who was lying down next to her.
"Naruto's different than most people" Anko said "he actually gives a shit about other peoples problems"; Kurenai nodded at this and lied back down and zipped up her sleeping bag.
"We best get to sleep too" Kurenai said as she closed her eyes "good night".
Anko yawned and spoke "good night" Anko said as both women went to sleep.
The next day; Outside Lord Toshio's castle: With Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo
Naruto and the others were all hiding in a thickly forested area outside the castle with Anko and Kurenai looking through binoculars at the building; so far there wasn't much to see. The 'castle' for lack of a better word was only 3 stories tall and maybe just a little over 5000 square feet with a ten foot high stone wall with a few guards on the wall with crossbows.
"Wow, that place is super small to be called a castle" Anko said "guess he really is a small fry; hell, I think Yakumo's place is bigger that that".
"My clans house is a little bigger" Yakumo said speaking up "we have a Dojo, a garden and even a large meeting hall; which is completely unnecessary since there is only 20 clan members left".
"Must be nice being loaded" Anko said continuing to look around.
"I count maybe ten guards around the perimeter; all armed with spears and swords" Kurenai said as she scanned around.
"What do you think?" Naruto asked and Kurenai looked at him.
"These are not shinobi or elite mercenaries" Kurenai said "these are just a pack of cowards; weaklings who pick up weapons and intimidate those who don't have any".
"Really?" Naruto said and Kurenai nodded; Naruto looked at Yakumo and spoke "well look at that Yakumo; looks like you won't have to feel all that bad when you kill them".
"I'll do it, but I'm still not looking forward to it" Yakumo said and Anko looked at her.
"That's the spirit" Anko said as she put up her binoculars and spoke "ok then; game plan time"; Kurenai, Naruto and Yakumo all looked at her as she spoke. "Ok so here's what we're going to do" Anko said beginning her explanation of the plan.
About 30 minutes later
4 guards who were guarding the front gates of the small castle all wielding spears and waiting patiently for anything to happen; as this went on Naruto slowly crawled on his belly closer and closer towards the enemy.
Naruto had one of his collapsible Fuma Shuriken on his back as he got closer and closer as he wanted to get into a good position; thankfully on either side of the road there was waist high grass giving him concealment as he crawled closer.
After another few minutes of crawling Naruto stopped and was now hiding 50 yards away from the 4 guards guarding the front gate. Naruto reached behind himself and grabbed the collapsible Fuma Shuriken off his back and opened it; Naruto focused his lightning chakra into his right hand electrifying the Fuma Shuriken.
'Ok Naruto; time to kick off this party' Naruto thought as he took a breath and let it out; Naruto quickly got to a knee and threw his Fuma Shuriken towards the 4 guards. One of the guards saw Naruto get up and pointed and began to shout.
"Intru-" the guard began until the Fuma Shuriken flew towards him; the shuriken went through his mouth cutting his head off and continuing through and being controlled by Naruto's static strings. The Shuriken curved and went towards the other 3 guards cutting their heads off and the shuriken came back towards Naruto.
Naruto reached out and grabbed the Shuriken folding it back up and put it back on his back; as soon as he did this six guards along the wall ran over and pointed their crossbows at Naruto.
"We're under attack" one of the guards shouted as he and his comrades fired their cross bows at Naruto; Naruto dodged the oncoming bolts and reached down to his shuriken holster on his leg and took out six shuriken and charged them with lightning chakra.
"Suck on this" Naruto shouted as he threw his shuriken towards the guards on the wall; none of the guards moved fast enough to dodge the oncoming shuriken as the shuriken went through the guards like a they were made of paper. The six guards fell down dead and at the same time the front gates opened up and a mob of about 25 mercenaries ran out and rushed towards Naruto in a frenzy; Naruto meanwhile stayed in place until they were about 30 yards.
'Time to run' Naruto thought as he began to run away down the road away from the castle; Naruto ran down the road with the large group of mercenaries following him shouting and screaming at him.
"Get back here you little fucker" "Who do you think you are" "we're going to skin you alive" the mercenaries shouted as they chased Naruto.
Unseen by any of them near the walls of the castle Anko was running up the side using the wall walking jutsu; Anko scaled the side of the castle and jumped over the wall and made her way inside.
Inside the Castle: With Lord Toshio
"What the hell is going on" Toshio said as his 5 remaining mercenaries were moving him through the castle to a secure area to protect him.
"Our front gates were attacked and several of our men were killed" one of the mercenaries was as he moved Toshio down the hall "we're not sure who did it but the others are all in pursuit".
"Good, good" Toshio said as he was escorted towards another part of the castle; as the group went around a corner and continued walking Toshio looked around. His eyes went wide and he spoke "STOP" he shouted and everyone did.
"My lord; what's wrong" a mercenary asked and Toshio looked at him scared.
"There are five of us in the hall way… there were six of us" Toshio said and everyone became alarmed as they just realized they were down a man.
"AKI?!" One of the ninja shouted hoping that his friend would call out; the 4 remaining mercenaries all whipped out their sword and got in front of Toshio facing the hallway they just came from. All of them stood in silence waiting for someone or something to come around the corner.
The mercenaries waited for about a minute and nothing happened "we should get going" one of the mercenaries said as he began to turn around "Lord Toshio we should-".
The mercenary stopped dead in his tracks and the others turned around and they all went wide eyed at what they saw.
Anko was standing there with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face "sorry boys, but looks like your boss in not available right now" she said and everyone looked behind her and saw Lord Toshio with his throat slit.
"You bitch" One of the mercenaries shouted as he swung his sword at Anko and Anko dodged the blade while taking out a kunai and sending a stab. Anko stabbed the mercenary under the left arm pit, piercing his heart and killing him.
Anko pulled out the kunai and threw it at another mercenary hitting him in the eye piercing his brain and dropping him; the final two mercenaries charged at her and Anko raised both her arm and pointed them towards the mercenaries.
2 snakes shot out from her sleeves and went towards the mercenaries and opened their mouths revealing their fangs; the snakes bit into the necks of the mercenaries and injected their venom inside and pulled away.
The effects were immediate as both men began to choke and bleed from their eyes, nose, ears and mouth as the poison ran through their system; the men fell to the ground and convulsed for a about a minute before dying.
When they were all dead Anko let out a sigh and smiled "well… this went smoothly" Anko said before turning around and walking over to Toshio and taking off his many gold rings "proof of kill secured". 'Ok then; lets see if the others are done' Anko thought as she began to exit the castle.
Outside the castle: With Naruto
Naruto has been running for about 3 minutes with the group of mercenaries still following him; Naruto was running at a quarter of his max speed in order for his pursuers to keep up with him.
'Holy crap I hate running this slow; this sucks' Naruto thought as he continued running down the road; as he did so Naruto looked to the side and saw a red rose popping out of the ground and Naruto smiled 'alright, time for the show to begin'.
The mercenaries all chased Naruto until Naruto spun around and faced them; one of the mercenaries saw this and got ready to attack. He raised up his sword and shouted "got you now brat" he shouted as he slashed at Naruto; his sword hit Naruto in the collar cutting down into his chest killing him.
The mercenary smiled as he pulled out his sword and smirked 'looks like I'm getting a fat bonus when-' he began until he stopped when a spear pierced his chest 'w-what?'
Another mercenary pulled his spear out of Naruto's back as his body fell to the ground 'haha stupid-' he began until he was decapitated by a fellow mercenary.
Naruto, Kurenai and Yakumo all looked on as the mercenaries hacked, stabbed and slaughtered each other in a wild frenzy of murder; they were about 20 yards away from this and could see everything.
"Holy shit this is brutal" Naruto said as he looked on at the carnage "oh man, he just cut that guys legs off; oh man this is so graphic it's hard to explain". "Hey Yakumo; you should really check this out" Naruto said to Yakumo who was looking away and covering her ears.
"Lalalalalala" Yakumo said trying to drown out the noise and not see her handiwork.
"My word, this is disturbing" Kurenai said looking at the effects of their trap; Yakumo put up a genjutsu making the mercenaries think one of them was Naruto. Each Mercenary thought a different man was Naruto and they all began attacking each other; and due to them being nothing more than low level mercenaries they had no way of breaking out.
After about five minuted the killing stopped and a lone mercenary stood wall "hahaha; I killed him, I fucking killed him, I-" he began; Naruto took out a kunai and threw it at the man hitting him in the forehead killing him.
"Is it over?" Yakumo asked and Naruto spoke.
"Yeah it's over" Naruto said.
Yakumo turned around and saw the carnage; there were limbs, blood, brains and dead bodies all together in a circle intertwined in a bloody mass. Yakumo looked to Naruto and spoke "I feel sick" Yakumo said and Naruto nodded.
"It's fine if you are" Naruto said to her and Yakumo nodded.
A few seconds later Anko came running up the road "hey, I took out the target and- holy shit" Anko said pausing as she stood a few feet away from the large puddle of blood and limbs that was the enemy mercenaries "what the fuck happened here?"
"Yakumo's genjutsu" Naruto said simply and Anko nodded.
"Got it… holy hell" Anko said as she walked over to the group "well looks like we finished this mission in record time".
"So what now?" Naruto asked and Anko shrugged.
"Pack up and head home; we took them out and-" Anko began but was interrupted by Kurenai; Kurenai took out a kunai and threw it past Anko who spun around.
The kunai headed towards a patch of dirt when suddenly a hand popped out of the ground and caught the kunai; Naruto, Anko, Yakumo and Kurenai all got into a defensive stance as a figure came out of the ground. Suddenly two more figures came out of the ground making Naruto and Yakumo feel a sense of dread was over them.
3 Ame ninja wearing light yellow jumpsuits stitched up the middle and rebreathers in their mouths appeared; they also had sacred on their faces with one had two eye hole, one had one eye hole and the last one had both his eyes covered.
"Who the hell are you guys?" Naruto shouted as he opened his Fuma shuriken and got ready for a fight.
"They're with me" came a voice from behind the group and both Naruto and Anko spun around and saw another Ame ninja standing there "hello Anko, Kurenai; it's been a while".
Anko went wide eyed as she recognized Aoi Rokusho standing there; he had green hair, purple eyes and wore a Ame jonin outfit with an umbrella on his back.
"Aoi; you traitorous bastard" Anko shouted and Naruto looked at her.
"You know this guy?" Naruto asked and Anko nodded.
"Yeah, he's a rogue Konoha ninja; he deserted the village after stealing a scroll full of jutsu and a relic from the second Hokage" Anko said "looks like he found a new home in Ame".
"Nice to see my reputation is still alive and well" Aoi said with a smile "well from the look of the pile of blood and gore it seems our clients men have been taken out; and I assume so has our client".
"Oh yeah; he's dead as fuck" Anko said taking out a kunai "and so are you and your little band of butt buddies".
Aoi chuckled "well, I might as well have some fun while you're here" he said as he reached behind himself and grabbed a sword hilt with no blade. Suddenly a blade of lightning shot out of the sword making a 3 foot long blade of yellow lightning and making a humming sound; Naruto seeing this went wide eyed.
"No way, you have a lightsaber?" Naruto said wide eyed with both surprise and envy and Aoi looked at him with a look of smugness.
"It's called the 'Sword of the Thunder God'; it was made by the second Hokage Tobirama" Aoi said to an astonished Naruto "you jealous?"
"A little bit" Naruto said before Anko looked at him and slapped him on the back of the head "owww".
"Naruto focus, this is serious; that is a powerful weapon due to it's Lightning…" Anko began until she paused and went wide eyed 'wait… lightning sword… Naruto's lightning jutsu…'. Anko got a mischievous look on her face and spoke to Naruto "You know what Naruto; I think you should fight him" Anko said sweetly making Kurenai look at Anko like she went crazy.
"What? Me, really?" Naruto asked and Anko nodded.
"Of course; I mean, you are a lightning user, so you are most suited for it" Anko said and Kurenai's jaw dropped "besides, if you beat him… you get your very own lightsaber".
Kurenai grabbed Anko by her coat, pulled her over and whispered "are you insane, Naruto is a genin and Aoi is high chunin to low jonin level" Kurenai hissed "there is now way that-". Kurenai paused as she looked over to Naruto and so did Anko; Anko smiled at what she saw.
Naruto was shaking in excitement with the widest smile Anko has ever seen on him "my own lightsaber, my own lightsaber, my own lightsaber" Naruto said in barely controlled excitement.
In Naruto's mind
Naruto was wearing a white kimono while standing on a pile of rocks holding the 'Sword of the Thunder God' above his head shining like a beacon.
Kurenai was in a revealing white dress at the bottom of the pile of rocks holding a hand bow with her hair done into 2 buns making a sexy pose.
And Anko and Yakumo were both behind Naruto with Anko wearing a white shirt and blue vest, black pants while pointing a hand bow and Yakumo next to her carrying a crossbow with a bandolier full of bolts.
There was a ghostly image of the Third Hokage wearing white robes with a brown cloak with the hood covering his head.
And finally there was another ghostly image of Danzo in the back ground looking like an evil villain looking down on the heroes.

Back to reality
Naruto snapped out of his day dream and stepped forward "I can handle this guy" Naruto said as Anko gave him a thumbs up, Kurenai paled and Yakumo smiled "Hey dick head; you're mine".
Aoi hearing this chuckled and looked to the 3 other Ame ninja "Oboro, Mubi, Kagari; handle the women" he said as he looked at Naruto "apparently this brat has a death wish".
Naruto stopped about 20 yards away from Aoi and spoke "throughout my entire life I only wanted two things" Naruto said "I want to become Hokage and I want to earn the respect of my village". Naruto began to crackle with red lightning making Aoi's eyes widen as the sparks picked up "but now I have third goal" Naruto said looking at Aoi with a wide smile "I want that sword and I'm going to be taking it; after I'm done beating your ass".
Naruto blazed to life with his red lightning cloak covering both him and his weapons; Aoi seeing this was surprised but then his surprise went away and was replaced with anticipation.
'Well look at this, a proper challenge for my skills' Aoi thought as he got into a kenjutsu stance 'finally a lightning user I can fight one on one'. Aoi looked to Naruto and spoke to him "come at me then" he said.
"Don't tempt me with a good time" Naruto said before he rushed forward towards Aoi in a streak of red.
