Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 28
Outside Kumo; in a training ground (2 months before the finals): With Naruto, Anko A and Tonoi
Naruto was currently standing on top of a mountain with A, Anko and Tonoi as they were about to begin his training; so far they woke up at the crack of dawn and hiked up the mountain which took them about two hours to get there. The air was cold and thin and Naruto was having a hard time breathing.
"Alright you blonde haired booty scratcher; time to begin your training" A said in a commanding voice "from not until the day before the exam your training is going to be overseen by me and Tonoi". "We are going to work your scrawny little ass to the bone; you gonna be able to bend steel and move mountains by the time we're done" A said "but until then your gonna have to give us one hundred percent at all times; starting every morning". "At the crack of dawn your gonna wake up and run all the way to the top of this mountain with Tonoi running behind you; and you'll repeat it going back to Kumo" A said and Naruto went wide eyed "if you slow down, he'll zap your ass".
"Like so" Tonoi said as he pointed his finger to the sky and shot off a bolt of lightning that made Naruto pale "this will fuck up your day, can you dig it?"
Naruto quickly nodded at this "y-yeah I can 'dig it'" Naruto said his voice quivering.
"Good, because that's the main thing about your training; physically, your weak as shit" A said gaining Naruto attention again "so we're gonna be working on that the most; then after that we're gonna be working on your ninjutsu, taijutsu and kenjutsu".
Naruto puffed out his chest and spoke "Bring it on; I'll take on everything you can throw at me" Naruto said with pride and A scoffed.
"Whatever kid" A said before he pulled out a scroll "and just remember this, I'm an old school Kumo shinobi". "So we're going to be doing this the old school way" A said with a smirk.
The next morning; Kumo gates
Naruto stands outside the Kumo village gates strapping on his sandals; he was wearing only a white muscle shirt and a pair of gym shorts. A, Anko and Tonoi stood behind him as he took a deep breath and spoke.
"Alright then" Naruto said as he stretched his legs "Let's do this!"; Naruto then began to run at full speed as his training began

Sudden darkness creeps into your soul
Envy moves the light of self-control
Naruto was dodging side to side as Anko and Tonoi were throwing sharp kunai at him from a range of thirty yards; Naruto had his hands tied behind his back so he was unable to grab the kunai.
Anko threw a kunai at Naruto and grazed his cheek making him wince in pain "keep on your toes damn it" Anko shouted as she threw another at Naruto who dodged to the side.
The cave that holds you captive has no doors
Burnin' with determination to even up the score
Naruto swung a sledge hammer at a massive boulder, hitting it with a resounding 'ting' as more chunks broke off; he's been hitting it for over two hours and hasn't made much progress. His arms and back ached from the constant swinging as his veins and muscles bulged.
Looking at his hands Naruto saw blisters and cuts all along his palms and fingers; Naruto collected saliva in his mouth and spat on his hands before grabbing the sledge hammer again and began swinging.
A was looking on with his arms crossed and with a passive look.

Naruto had his hands wrapped in bandages as he was doing hand stand push-ups on his knuckles; standing on top of Naruto's feet adding weight was Tonoi. Naruto had a puddle of sweat under him as he did another push-up.
"No pain kid… no pain" Tonoi said giving Naruto a little confidence boost as he did another push up.
The moment of truth draws near
Time will not allow you to stay still, no
Naruto was sparring with one of Anko's snakes, a large anaconda that was slithering around Naruto; Naruto using only his boxing to fight threw a punch at the snake and the snake ducked under the punch and shot towards Naruto.
Naruto put up his arms in defense and blocked the head-butt from the snake but now without stumbling back from the force; Anko and Tonoi both looked on as Naruto sparred as Naruto constantly moved and was using his footwork.
Silence breaks the heart and bends the will
Naruto was doing forwards lunges with a backpack full of rocks on his back while carrying two large stones in each hand; Naruto's knees and feet kept on wanting to buckle but Naruto using his willpower pushed on.
A, Anko and Tonoi all looked on as they saw the circle Naruto had made in the ground from the dozens of laps he's done.
Defense is guilty, passions out of control
Rules and regulations have no meaning anymore
Naruto was practicing his capoeira with weights on his ankles and wrists as he performed countless cart wheel kicks, sweep kicks, scorpion kicks, and crescent kicks on a wooden dummy.
Naruto took a step back and spun around before doing a backwards flip and sending two consecutive kicks to the dummy's head.

Naruto using a blunted Katana blocked a slash from Tonoi who was using his blunted Katana; Naruto countered with a parry and a slash aimed towards his midsection.
Tonoi side stepped the strike and sent strike towards Naruto's ribs hitting him dead on and making him double over; Naruto's knees feel to his knees and Tonoi looked down at him "again" he said. Naruto not saying a word got back up and took his stance even though his ribs hurt.
The moment of truth is here
Oh! Is here! Oh, yeah!
Naruto was using some lightning charged shuriken to shoot down doves as they flew through the air; Anko who was sitting on a rock lit another firecracker and threw it off the side of the mountain and it popped a second later.
Thee doves flew off of their perch and Naruto threw three shuriken towards them all; Anko then shot out her snaked to grab the doves before they fell too far. Retracting the snakes Anko grabbed the doves and threw them into an ever increasing pile next to her "one hundred and six" she said.

At the front gates of Kumo was an old wooden rickshaw and Uzui, Anko and Harui were all sitting inside waiting to be pulled up the hill; Naruto grabbed the handle in the front of the rickshaw and began to pull with all his might as the wheels began to turn.
All three women weighed less than one hundred and fifty pounds a piece; but with them and the rickshaw put together, the total weight was nearly five hundred and fifty pounds. Naruto began to breath heavily as he pulled the rickshaw up the mountainous slopes of Kumo.

"Come on Naruto, you can do it honey" Uzui said cheering Naruto on as he pulled the rickshaw.
"Just a little bit further" Harui said as she looked at Naruto struggling up the mountain.
"Come on Naruto, don't give up now" Anko said and Naruto groaned as he continued to pull the cart; Naruto's moved one leg forward at a time as the top of the mountain appeared in front of him.
Naruto dug within himself and with one more charge of energy pulled the cart to the top; Naruto dropped the cart and turned around to look at his passengers. All three women had looks of happiness and joy on their faces and Naruto couldn't help but smile as well.
"YES!" Naruto shouted in victory.

Koyoi's house; Later that night (3 Weeks before the finals): With Naruto
Naruto walked into his room after taking a shower in a daze as he limped towards the bed 'all that in a week' Naruto thought as he plopped down into the bed 'this is exhausting'. 'I wonder how Yuui and Yakumo are doing?' Naruto thought before he closed his eyes and fell asleep leaving the door open and the light on by accident.
Harui and Hosoi entered the door frame and saw Naruto dead asleep and snoring; Hosoi chuckled and Harui looked at him "what is it?" Harui asked.
"Oh nothing, he's just doesn't know when to quit" Hosoi said with a smile as he looked at the sleeping blonde boy "remarkable".
"He really is" Harui said with a smile "I'm so glad he's here; it's almost like having a second son".
"Yeah… it really is" Hosoi said; he reached over and turned off the light to the room and closed the door leaving Naruto to sleep off his exhaustion.
The next morning; In a Konoha training ground: With Yuui, Yakumo, Guy and Lee
(Another Training Montage; I do not own the song or Mulan, it's just a parody)
Guy grabbed a bo staff and spun it around and looked towards Yuui, Yakumo and Lee who were all wearing the green jumpsuits. Guy took in a deep breath and began to sing while doing a bo staff form.
Guy: Let's get down to business, to defeat the Huns; did they send me daughters when I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch I ever met, but you can bet before we're through; mister, I'll make a man out of you
Guy grabbed three more bo staffs and threw them towards the students; Lee caught his no problem, Yuui almost missed the catch but still got it. Yakumo however missed it entirely and got hit in the face and fell backwards.
Guy: Tranquil as a forest, but on fire within; once you find your center, you are sure to win.
You're a spineless, pale, pathetic lot, and you haven't got a clue; somehow I'll make a man out of you.
Guy looked on as Yuui and Lee threw rocks at Yakumo and Yakumo was struggling to keep up; she was blocking some of them but some others were still hitting her. One rock thrown by Yuui hit Yakumo in the nose making her grab her face; then another rock thrown by Lee hit her in the gut knocking the wind out of her.
Lee: I'm never gonna catch my breath.
Yuui: Say goodbye to those who knew me.
Yakumo: Boy, was I a fool in school for cutting gym?
Lee: This guy got 'em scared to death.
Yuui: Hope he doesn't see right through me.
Yakumo: Now I really wish that I knew how to swim.
Lee, Yuui and Yakumo were all running up stream of a fast moving river, they were using the walk on water jutsu; the current made it hard for all three of them to move, especially Lee. Lee's chakra control was nearly nonexistent and even the walk on water and walk on walls jutsu were still the only jutsu he could use despite the difficulty.
Lee took another step but his chakra flow broke and he fell into the water and was swept away; as he went down stream he crashed into Yuui and Yakumo dragging them both with him.
Guy: you must be swift as the coursing river

Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Yuui, Yakumo and Lee were all standing on narrow wooden poles in the middle of a lake on one leg each; in all of their hands were vases full of cement that they were holding palm down so they were only using their fingers.
Yuui was gritting her teeth as this happened; while she was used to heavy lifting she never exercised her fingers. The fingers on her left hand began to shake harder as she tried to keep a grip; suddenly Yuui's hand slipped and she dropped the vase but held onto the other. Yuui toppled over and fell off her pole into the water down below.
Guy: Time is racing toward us, 'til the Huns arrive; heed my every order, and you might survive.
You're unsuited for the rage of war, so pack up, go home, you're through; how could I make a man out of you?
Yuui, Yakumo and Lee were all climbing up a steep cliff with one of their hands tied behind their backs; Guy was right behind them watching them climb up the cliff. He was there just in case they slipped so he could catch them.
Lee closed his eyes and activated the first of the eight gates and with a burst of energy propelled himself up to the ledge above himself. Yuui and Yakumo both looked at each other and without saying a word began to push themselves even harder.
Guy: you must be swift as the coursing river; (Be a man) with all the force of a great typhoon
(Be a man) with all the strength of a raging fire; mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Guy, Yakumo, Lee and Yakumo were all doing a form with their bo staffs in unison; Kurenai and Suzui were looking as they did their forms.
All Together: you must be swift as the coursing river; (Be a man) with all the force of a great typhoon.
(Be a man) with all the strength of a raging fire; mysterious as the dark side of the moon.
Guy, Yuui, Yakumo and Lee and finished their forms by performing a flying sidekick in the air and for a moment they froze in place with rays of light beaming out from behind them.
(Montage ends)
Kurenai and Suzui just looked on blankly as they landed on the ground and Suzui spoke up "um… why were they singing and how are they doing that 'light' thing?" Suzui asked and Kurenai let out a tired breath.
"I can't say anything about the singing; but just be glad it's the rays of light and not… 'the beach'" Kurenai said with a shudder and Suzui sweat dropped.
"We still have three more weeks of this crap?" Suzui said rubbing her temples "I get that it's intense training… but stop with the damn singing".
Meanwhile: with Neji and Tenten
Neji was standing in a smoking crater with dozens of weapons surrounding him; Tenten was breathing heavily as she stood off in the distance.
"I think you perfected it Neji" Tenten said and Neji staying cool turned and looked at her.
"That doesn't mean I'm done" Neji said "I have very stiff competition; Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki, Lee and Yuui will be my biggest threats". "I will not let any of them win against me" Neji said and Tenten nodded "we'll do it again".
With Shikamaru, Asuma and Shikaku Nara
Shikamaru was with his father and sensei in a training ground trying to focus his shadow through multiple obstacles in order to increase his control and stamina.
"This is such a drag" Shikamaru said as he tried to focus.
"Just keep it up Shikamaru" Asuma said as he lit a cigarette then offered one to Shikaku who took it "if you do this you might stand a chance against the others".
"*Tsk* if I have to fight Naruto, Lee or the Raikage's daughter I'm gonna forfeit" Shikamaru said "even if I win I'll be out of the competition; I'd use up too much chakra".
"Tactical withdraw after a Pyrrhic victory" Shikaku Nara said as blew out smoke from his nose "it's a drag… but might be necessary".
With Kakashi and Sasuke
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu" Sasuke roared as he unleashed a large fireball that collided with a boulder formation; the fireball destroyed it and Kakashi looked on with an eye smile.
"Look at that Sasuke, practice makes perfect; less chakra wasted and more power" Kakashi said with a chipper tone; Sasuke huffed and looked at him.
"When are you going to teach me a more powerful jutsu?" Sasuke asked with his usual scowl "you're just teaching me things I already know".
"I'm helping you perfect what you already know" Kakashi said raising his finger "what's the point of learning something if it's only halfway right"; Sasuke scoffed and walked to his pack to get his water. Kakashi looked at him and had a thought 'besides, you don't need to learn anything else; that Gaara kid is out of the exams, so you don't have any real threats' he thought. Kakashi's one eye narrowed 'if he was still in the exams, then I might've had to teach you something like the chidori to win'. Kakashi then relaxed and sighed 'but luckily for us, he's no longer a problem' he thought.
With Hinata, Hanabi and Hiashi Hyuga
Hinata blocked a strike from Hanabi as both sisters sparred inside the Hyuga training area; Hiashi was overseeing Hinata's training prior to the finals. Hiashi never had high expectations for Hinata, which is why he relinquished her title as the Hyuga clan heiress to Hanabi.
But to Hiashi's surprise Hinata was showing slightly more confidence and perseverance ever since she got back from Kumo; he was not sure how this had happened but he was glad that Hinata wasn't acting like the weakling that he always said she was.
Hinata dodged a series of strikes from Hanabi and countered with a strike to Hanabi's gut knocking her to the ground "H-Hanabi, I'm sorry" Hinata said as she rushed over and helped her sister up "are you ok?"
"I'm… fine" Hanabi said rubbing her stomach "just… knocked the wind out of me".
"Do not fret over her Hinata" Hiashi said sternly and Hinata flinched and let go of her sister "you have a lot of training to do for the finals; you are participating in Kumo, that cowardly and traitorous village". "I expect you to bring honor to the Hyuga clan through victory" Hiashi said.
Hinata looked at Hiashi's stern face and nodded "Yes sir" Hinata said meekly and Hiashi nodded.
"Hanabi, go to the medical center and send Ko over" Hiashi said "Hinata needs another sparring partner".
"Yes Father" Hanabi said as she walked into the compound; after turning a corner Hanabi had a thought that summed up her feelings 'sanctimonious asshole'.
Meanwhile; Back in Kumo: With Koyoi and Hachiro
Koyoi was training in his back gardens as sent flying into a nearby pond with a loud splash; Koyoi shot out of the water and began to swim back to shore. Koyoi climbed up the rocky shore of the pond and spat out some water "crap" Koyoi said as he completely crawled out.
"Come now young Master" Hachiro said as he stood stoically in the middle of a ring in his crisp and clean butler suit "this is no time for a swim".
Koyoi got to his feet and walked back over, he had two of his seals removed and was still having a hard time "I'm far from done" Koyoi said as he charged towards Hachiro at breakneck speed.
Hachiro lazily raised his arm and blocked a kick from Koyoi that was aimed at his head; the force was so much that it kicked up dust and debris but left him unfazed. Koyoi followed up by sending a barrage of punches at Hachiro who once again blocked the attacks with a lazy expression on his face.
"Young Master, your punches are too slow; I can see them coming from a mile away" Hachiro said as he blocked another punch; Koyoi was about to attack until he received a punch to the face from Hachiro and was sent flying towards the house.
Koyoi was so stunned that he couldn't right himself and was about to crash through a window; to his surprise he went through the window but did not feel the glass break and was grabbed and spun around.
Hachiro seemingly moving through time and space, got inside the house, opened the window and caught Koyoi; he spun Koyoi around in order to not give him whiplash. He gently put Koyoi on the ground and he looked at the passive face butler.
"Good effort today young Master" Hachiro said as he raised his arms up "you got my uniform wet… that's good progress".
Koyoi looked from him, to the window and back to him "how on earth did you do that?" Koyoi asked and Hachiro gave him a small smile and a chuckle.
"I'm simply one hell of a butler" Hachiro said as he patter Koyoi on the head "come now young Master; I believe a shower and hydration is in order"; Hachiro led a smiling Koyoi out of the room and off to get cleaned up.
With Uzui and Mayui
"Hyah" Mayui shouted as she threw Uzui onto the training mat using a judo throw; Uzui quickly recovered and grabbed Mayui by the the collar of her gi and pulled her down. Uzui brought up both of her legs and wrapped them around Mayui's neck and pulled down.
Uzui put Mayui into a choke hold using her legs and began to squeeze; Mayui quickly slipped her arms in between her neck and Uzui's legs and was able to break the hold and wrapped her arms around the leg. Mayui rolled to the side and flipped Uzui onto her stomach and put her leg into a joint lock; Mayui pulled on the joint and Uzui to her surprise flexed her leg and swung her other leg around and used it to push her to the mat.
Uzui moved up and put Mayui into an arm-bar and began to put pressure on her joint; Mayui tried to break free but couldn't and tapped out. Uzui let go and rolled away and got back to her feet; her gi was open and her long blonde hair was wild.
"Good job" Uzui said and Mayui got up, her gi also a total mess.
"Thanks captain" Mayui said as he tied her gi close.
"I feel bad for whoever gets put into a clench with you" Uzui said and Mayui chuckled.
"I'm not gonna count my chickens before they hatch; but I feel confident" Mayui said as she began to walk past Uzui.
"And where are you going?" Uzui asked and Mayui gave her a smile.
"I'm meeting up with that cute rookie in I.T" Mayui said with a smirk "he's kinda nerdy, but I hear he's packing something good in those khaki slacks of his"; Uzui groaned at this.
"Are you sure you're not a nymphomaniac?" Uzui asked and Mayu chuckled.
"Nah, just a girl who loves a good time" Mayui said as she gave Uzui a slap on the butt making her 'eep' "I mean I hear about what you and Lord Raikage do when you're on vacation; I've seen the bills".
Uzui blushed and folded her arms "we're married I happen to let you know" she said and Mayui laughed and walked away "wear protection"; Mayui gave her a wave and walked out. "Gah… girls these days" Uzui said as she began to gather up her stuff.
(Time Skip) Kumo front gates; two days before the chunin exam finals: With Yuui, Yakumo, Kurenai, Suzui, Hiruzen and the others
Yuui, Yakumo, Kurenai and Suzui were all walking together through the gates of Kumo at the head of the group led by Hiruzen; all of the Konoha genin including their teams and sensei were all following behind closely. The group also included Hiashi Hyuga, Hanabi Hyuga, Shikaku Nara, Choza Akimichi, Inoichi Yamanka, Tsume Inuzuka and Hana Inuzuka as special guests.
'Man it's good to be back' Yuui thought with a smile 'an entire month with no distractions and just straight training'; after walking a few more feet Yuui saw the welcoming committee consisting of her father, mother, Bee, Yugito, Tonoi, Mayui, Koyoi and other important officials.
"Yuui" Uzui cheered as she ran over to her daughter with arms wide open.
"Mommy" Yuui cheered back as she rushed over and gave her mom a hug "oh I missed you so much".
"And where's my hug?" A said with a smile as he walked up; Yuui looked at him, broke the hug with her mom and went to her dad and gave him a hug "hey there baby girl".
"Hi daddy" Yuui said with a smile.
"Look at you, did you get bigger?" A asked "and nice cloths".
Yuui had grown a little bit since she left, even though she was already extremely tall; she was now a towering 6 feet and 4 inches tall almost nearing A's height of 6 feet and 5 inches. Her cloths changed too as she wore grey spandex leggings that she dyed and altered from the green jumpsuit that Guy gave her; it was cut to mid calve length and she wore black leg warmers instead of orange. Yuui also wore a white t-shirt that had the kanji for 'youth' on the left breast, fishnet armor under the shirt and her belt that held her ninja tools and 'emergency' tanto. Her hair was also shorter as it was cut in a 'bob-style' much like Samui's at neck length and her forehead protector was now tied to her left shoulder.
"Thanks daddy" Yuui said with a bright smile "I made these leggings from my jumpsuit; I kinda like it, it's very breathable, plus-". Yuui turned around and pointed behind her "this makes my ass look amazing" she said and A and Uzui sweat dropped.
"I kinda agree with her" Mayui said looking at Yuui's butt "it hugs you pretty well"; Mayui gave her a thumbs up and Yuui returned it. Kurenai and Yakumo both walked up and bowed.
"Nice to see you all again" Kurenai said respectfully.
Yakumo looked around confused and spoke "Hey, where's Naruto and Anko sensei?" Yakumo asked and Yuui flinched at this.
Yuui for the past two months has been trying to push Naruto and whatever feeling she had about him out of her mind; and now that she returned it was coming back full force.
"I don't know" Uzui said looking around "I told A to tell them what time your going to be coming back"; Uzui looked to her husband who spoke.
"I didn't have time to do that; I have dignitaries to deal with" A said in a response "so I told Tonoi to do it"; everyone looked to Tonoi who spoke.
"And I was also busy helping out; so I told Koyoi to do it" Tonoi said and everyone looked at Koyoi.
"And I told him this morning at breakfast" Koyoi said "he told me 'ok, I'll go and get Anko; I hope she's not drunk'".
Before anyone could say anything a flash of red lighting struck behind the group and a figure appeared "hey sorry I'm late guys, I got caught by Anko while she's still drunk; she thought I was an intruder and used her python to capture me" came Naruto voice and everyone looked over.
And upon doing so everyone who hasn't seen Naruto in a while went wide eyed; some of the girls especially Yuui, Hinata, Yakumo, Tenten and Hanabi looked on with blushes on their faces. At the same time Sasuke, Neji and Kiba all looked on in anger.
Naruto was now taller at a height of 5 foot 4 inches and a lot more muscular, but unlike A or Tonoi, Naruto was more lean muscle than bulky muscle; his spiky blonde hair was two inches longer than it was before with some strands pouring over the forehead protector cloth and past his cheeks. Naruto wore a black muscle shirt that showed off his muscular arms that were wrapped from wrist to triceps in bandages; on the back of his shirt was a storage seal where he kept his Fuma Shuriken.
On Naruto's right hand he still wore the white glove Yuui gave him and on his left he wore a black glove that served no other function than being a glove; Naruto wore a grey cargo pants that was rolled up to his ankles and black sandals. Keeping his pants up was a belt that held his kunai pouch, his 'Sword of The Thunder God' in a leather sheathe and his shuriken holster on his right thigh.
'Is that Naruto?' Yakumo thought with an increasing blush.
'No way' Tenten thought in surprise.
'N-Naruto?' Hinata thought her head spinning while looking at him 'he looks so…so-'.
'So damn good' Yuui thought with steam nearly coming out of her ears 'oh crap, this is bad; I tried to push him out of my mind and now it's all come back to bite me in the ass'. 'What do I do now; do I be nonchalant or should I-' Yuui began until she felt something wrap around her waist.
"YUUI, YOU'RE BACK" Naruto cheered as he hugged her; upon doing this Yuuu began to blush even harder.
'He's hugging me, he's hugging me, he's hugging me!' Yuui thought in a panic; Naruto let go of Yuui and rushed over to Yakumo and Kurenai.
"Hey guys, it's been forever; how've you been" Naruto said as he pulled the both of them into a hug; Kurenai and Yakumo returned the hug and Kurenai chuckled.
"Well look at you Naruto; you seemed to have changed" Kurenai said and Naruto let go and smiled.
"Yeah, I've been working out nearly everyday the entire time I've been here" Naruto said with his hands on his hips "I worked my butt off and I feel super duper confident".
"W-well you're a lot more muscular since the last time we saw you" Yakumo said trying to hide her blush.
"Yeah I kinda surprised myself; I didn't even realize until a few days ago, I was so busy" Naruto said before he lifted up his shirt revealing his stomach which now had a six pack "look, I even have abs now".
Upon seeing this Hinata had blood spurt from her nose and she quickly held up a hand to stop the bleeding; Hanabi saw this and gave her a handkerchief.
"But enough about me; how're you guys doing, had a good time training?" Naruto asked and Yuui and Yakumo both spoke.
"Ummm yeah, we trained with Guy and Lee the entire time; they were super helpful" Yuui said trying to not make eye contact with Naruto.
"It's true Naruto" Guy said as he and Lee walked up "these two youthful ladies joined us for our training; I must say they were most impressive".
"You missed it Naruto; we so 'in the zone' that we even sang songs while we trained" Lee said with his bright smile "my favorite was 'Make a man out of you' from the classic and inspiring story of 'Mulan'".
Upon hearing this Naruto's jaw dropped "aww man, I missed sing alongs?" Naruto said and Lee nodded "man… I would've loved to been there for that".
"Well anyway Naruto; I see you have gotten a lot stronger" Lee said with a smirk "and so have I; I hope that during these finals we can face each other as equals and unrestrained". Lee pumped his fist with fire in his eyes "it would be most unyouthful if our rivalry isn't settled in this exam; so I do hope we can engage in one on one combat" he said.
"I would love nothing more Lee" Naruto said with a smile himself "after all these years we've been training together we've never been in a real fight; and I gotta say… I wanna go all out too". "Lets make a pact, neither one of us loses until we face one another?" Naruto asked as he held out his hand and Lee nodded.
"I agree; it'll be a battle for the ages" Lee said as both he and Naruto shook hands; as that happened Yuui was looking at Naruto while Yakumo was looking at Lee.
'That's so cool' Yuui and Yakumo thought at the same time.
"Alright people; lets get you settled in" A said speaking up "the exams are in two days; get rested and get ready".
As the group dispersed Yuui began to follow her mother and father towards the manor; before she left she had one last look at Naruto and felt her heart race as she saw him continue to chat with Lee and Guy.
'Damn it' Yuui thought as she looked away 'why won't these feelings go away?'
2 days later; Kumo arena: With Naruto, Yuui, Yakumo and the others.
Naruto was standing on a in the middle of the packed arena with the other chunin hopefuls as they all waited for the exams to begin; Naruto looked at the competition and sized them up. As far as he could see there was a total of thirty four all together
There was him, Yuui, Yakumo, Mayui, Koyoi, Lee, Sasuke, Neji, Shino, Hinata, Sai, Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Chojuro, Haku, Kabuto, Yoroi, Misumi, Oboro, Mubi, Kagari, Terui and Roi; along with them there were five Kumo genin, three Konoha genin and two Iwa genin who's names Naruto didn't know.
'Man there's gonna be a lot of fighting here today' Naruto thought; he looked to his right and saw Yuui standing next to him and he gave her a little nudge. Yuui snapped out of her thoughts and looked to Naruto who gave her a bright smile "Let's kick some ass today" Naruto said.
Yuui couldn't help but smile and spoke "damn right" she said; as soon as she said that the loud speaker crackled and A began to speak.
In the Kage box: With A, Uzui, Hiruzen and Mei Terumi
A was standing up while Hiruzen and Mei sat down in some seats on either side of him; behind Hiruzen was his two anbu bodyguards, behind Mei was her two body guards Zabuza and Ao and behind Uzui and A's empty seat was Darui and his brother Bee.
"Alright people, this is what we've been waiting for; the finals to the first Kumo chunin exams" A said, his voice echoing through the arena; the crowd began to cheer wildly for a few seconds and A continued. "This exam will consist of one on one combat; the winner will be chosen if one of three things happen" A said raising up three fingers "a death, a knockout or a forfeit". "And to keep it fair the selection will be random; all names will be show on the screen above my head" A said "now with nothing else to say… LETS BEGIN!".
Upon saying that the board began to light up and shuffle through names everyone in the crowd looked on with intense focus; nearly everyone looked on holding their breaths as the names blurred across the screen.
Back with Naruto and the others
Naruto and every other genin held their breath as the board went through names 'come on, be me, be me, be me' Naruto thought as he crossed his fingers and hoped his name would be picked.
A second later the board stopped and Naruto went wide eyed at what he saw; before he could speak he heard A's voice through the speaker.
"First match of the Chunin exam finals" A's voice echoed through the stadium "Yuui vs… Ino Yamanaka"; there was a pause and A spoke again but his voice was faint like he was talking to someone off to the side. "Hey this thing is random right?" A said before another pause "it is? Oh... holy shit".
The whole stadium was dead quiet as they looked at the named on the board; Yuui's gaze was glued to the screen while every other genin was looking towards Ino wide eyed.
Ino had her jaw hanging open and looked even paler than usual; she moved her mouth like she was a fish out of water "w-w-what?" Ino said confused.
Yuui however went wide eyed, clenched her fists and shouted "YESSSSSS!" Yuui cheered.
Naruto looked over to Ino and Ino looked at him; Naruto got the biggest shit eating grin on his face and he spoke only two words "get…fucked" Naruto said.
